ABS ENGAGES AT VERY LOW SPEEDS ON DRY PAVEMENT. BRAKES SLIP CAUSING LONGER BRAKING/STOPPING DISTANCE. ABS LIGHT COMES ON BRIEFLY AFTER THE EVENT TAKES PLACE. THIS PRESENTS FOR DANGEROUS ROAD CONDITIONS, ESPECIALLY IN TOWN/CITY ENVIRONMENT WHERE OFTEN INSTANTANEOUS BRAKING DECISIONS OCCUR (CHILDREN PLAYING, ANIMALS CROSSING, ETC.). *TR
TL- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 CHEVROLET BLAZER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH THE CONTACT NOTICED THE FUEL GAUGE READING FLUCTUATING. THE CONTACT STATED HE WAS UNABLE TO KNOW WHAT THE ACTUAL AMOUNT OF FUEL WAS IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000. DS
GAS GAUGE DOES NOT WORK JUMPS AROUND. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 CHEVROLET BLAZER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE LOCAL AUTHORITY THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR BRAKE LIGHT WAS INOPERATIVE. THERE WERE NO WARNINGS PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE BRAKE LIGHT BULB WAS CHANGED, BUT THE FAILURE WAS STILL PRESENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR INSPECTION AND IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHT SOCKET EXHIBITED CORROSION, WHICH POSSIBLY CONTRIBUTED TO THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 01V364000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING:BRAKE LIGHTS:SWITCH), ALTHOUGH THE FAILURES WERE IDENTICAL. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. GO TO VEHICLE, TRY TO START, "SECURITY" LAMP BEGINS TO FLASH. NO START ISSUE. HAVE TO WAIT FOR 10 MINUTES AND TRY AGAIN, ABOUT 50% OF THE TIME IS STARTS, OTHER 50% YOU HAVE TO WAIT ANOTHER 10 MINUTES AND TRY AGAIN.... GM PASSLOCK SYSTEM ISSUE. IS IT THE IGNITION, THE BCM, THE ECM....? *TR
2000 CHEVY BLAZER HAS ABS LIGHT COME ON. WHEN THIS OCCURS THE BRAKES DO NOT WORK. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF THE SPEED IS EXTREMELY LOW-OR GOING 55MPH-65MPH DEPENDING ON POSTED SPEED LIMIT. IF YOU BARELY TOUCH THEM IT SLIPS/DOES NOT GRAB. IF YOU TRY TO PUMP THE BRAKE PEDAL IT GOES TO THE FLOOR TWO OR THREE TIMES BEFORE CATCHING. YOU CAN HEAR A NOISE BEFORE THE ABS LIGHT COMES ON-YOU CAN FEEL THE BRAKE PEDAL GET TIGHT AND THEN REAL LOOSE BEFORE LIGHT COMES ON. THE LIGHT DOES NOT STAY ON, NOR DO YOU HAVE A WARNING ABOUT IT COMING ON. I JUST HAD NEW BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS PUT ON- THE BRAKES SHOULD BE BETTER THAN NEW- HOWEVER, DOES'NT MATTER IF THEY ARE BEING TOLD BY A SENSOR OR OTHER COMPUTER CHIP/LIGHT THAT THEY DON'T WORK! I'VE BEEN TOLD IT IS THE ABS BRAKE MOTOR VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY PART, THAT IS MALFUNCTIONING. PLEASE INVESTIGATE BEFORE SOMEBODY GETS HURT OR DIES. THERE IS ALSO ANOTHER WOMAN AT MY WORK WHO HAS THE SAME VEHICLE AND HAS THE SAME PROBLEM ON OCCASSION, THEY HAVE SPENT DAYS TRYING TO IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM. *TR
OCCASIONALLY THE FRONT WIPERS ON MY 2000 CHEVY BLAZER WOULD STOP WORKING FOR NO REASON AT ALL AND EVENTUALLY AFTER A FEW MINUTES WOULD KICK BACK ON, BUT AS OF YESTERDAY DEC 21 2008 THEY WILL NOT COME BACK ON. I WAS INFORMED THAT THIS IS PROBABLY DUE TO A BAD WIPER CIRCUIT BOARD. THIS SAME PROBLEM OCCURRED AND HAD A RECALL FOR A 1997 CHEVY S10 PICKUP. AND GUESS WHAT??? THEY USE THE SAME PART NUMBER. HOWEVER CHEVY WILL NOT REPLACE THE WIPER CIRCUIT BOARD ON MY VEHICLE BECAUSE THERE WAS NEVER A RECALL ON MY SPECIFIC VEHICLE MODEL/YEAR. IF IT IS THE SAME PART AND I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM THIS SHOULD BE REPLACED BY THE MANUFACTURER. NOW OUT OF POCKET I AM LOOKING AT $150 OR A LITTLE MORE DEPENDING ON WHAT PARTS STORE I CAN FIND THIS CIRCUIT BOARD AT. I CALLED SEVERAL DEALERSHIPS AND THE CHEVY 1-800#. TO ME THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE, IF IT IS THE SAME PART NUMBER THAT HAD A PROBLEM IN A PREVIOUS VEHICLE THEN IT SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER THE RECALL NOTICE. *TR
THE GAS GAUGE FLUCTUATES. DO NOT KNOW THE PROPER AMOUNT OF GAS IS IN THE TANK. *TR
ON 6/4/2008 I PURCHASED FOUR TIRES FROM WALMART IN YUMA, AZ THEY WERE DOUGLAS TIRES 205/75R15BWX-TRAC II. WALMART INSTALLED/MOUNTED AND BALANCED THE TIRES. 5 MONTH'S AND LESS THEN 5000 MILES LATER ON 11/7/08 MY WIFE CALLED ME TO SAY THAT A TIRE WAS FLAT WHEN I GOT THERE TO LOOK AT THE TIRE I FOUND THAT THE TIRE HAD RIPPED IN SIX DIFFERENT PLACES FROM THE RIM TO THE TREAD ALL THE WAY THROUGH. I THEN LOOKED AT THE OTHER TIRES TO FIND THAT THEY HAD INDENTED/IMPRESSIONS IN THE SAME PATTERN AROUND THE TIRE AS IF STARTING TO CRACK THROUGH LIKE THE OTHER ONE DID. ALSO I WAS HAVING DIFFICULTLY KEEPING THE PROPER PSI LEVEL IN THEM MY VEHICLE MANUFACTURE RECOMMENDS 35PSI, BUT FOR SOME REASON THESE TIRES WILL LEAK OUT TO 20 PSI I HAD TO PUT AIR IN THEM EVERY MONTH TO KEEP THEM AT THE PROPER LEVEL. I WENT BACK TO WALMART THE NEXT DAY ON 11/8/2008 AFTER ARGUING WITH THEM THEY FINALLY REPLACED ALL FOUR TIRES BUT THEY USED THE SAME BRAND, AND NOW A MONTH LATER I'M STARTING TO SEE THE SAME PATTERN OF INDENT'S/ IMPRESSIONS IN THE SIDE WALL AND THESE TIRES TO LEAK AIR AS BAD AS THE LAST SET OF DOUGLAS TIRES THE REPLACEMENT TIRES WALMART INSTALLED ARE 205/75R15BWX-T. I BELIEVE THAT THIS BRAND NAME HAS DEFECTIVE TIRES AND THIS NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO. I ALSO HAVE PICTURES OF THE TIRES THAT RIPPED IF I CAN I WILL ADD THEM TO THE REPORT BUT IF NOT JUST REQUEST THEM FROM ME AND I WILL SEND THEM VIA EMAIL. THANK YOU. *TR
SMOKE FROM STEERING COLUMN,AFTER THE SMOKE FROM THE COLUMN THE HAZARD LIGHTS AND SWITCH WOULD NOT WORK, BREAK LIGHTS WOULD NOT WORK EITHER. GM DEALER REPLACED THE MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH @ A COST OF $438.50 AND SAID THEY NEVER HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM BEFORE. VEHICLE WAS RECALLED AND WAS APPARENTLY FIXED FOR THE SAME REASON 6 YRS AGO. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 CHEVROLET BLAZER. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND THE ABS ENGAGED. THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY MORE BRAKE PRESSURE IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FRONT HUB WHEEL SPEED SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THERE WERE NO PRIOR WARNINGS. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 73,640. UPDATED 12-04-08 *BF THE DEALER REPLACED THE WHEEL SPEED SENSORS. UPDATED 12/10/08. *JB
TOOK VEHICLE IN FOR OIL CHANGE, NEXT DAY CAR MADE NOISES AND LEAKED OIL. CONTACTED DEALER, TWO DAYS LATER CAR NEEDED TWO QTS OF OIL. CAR DEALER THEN TOWED CAR,HAD CAR FOR A WEEK AND SAID 'IT'S NOT THEIR FAULT'. EXTENDED WARRANTY EXPIRED. *TR
I PURCHASED A 2000 2WD CHEVY BLAZER. WHEN IT RAINS ALOT. WHEN IT RAINS I GET A PUDDLE IN THE BACK FLOOR AND IT LEAKS ALL THE WAY TO THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THERE SHOULD BE SOME TYPE OF RECALL FOR THIS. I HAVE TO USE THE WET VAC TO CLEAN THIS UP EVERY TIME. THE OTHER ITEM WHEN IT RAINS IS SOMETIMES THE BLAZER WILL NOT EVEN START. IT IS LIKE IF THE CAR HAS TO DRY BEFORE IT CAN START AND STAY ON. *TR
THE ABS GRADUALLY CAME ON. WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE WHEELS LOCK UP AND THE BLAZER SKIDS ABOUT A FOOT. I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS NEAR ACCIDENTS BECAUSE OF THE ABS. I TOOK THE BLAZER INTO THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP AND THEY RAN THE VIN. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE ARE NO RECALLS FOR MY BLAZER. HOWEVER, ACCORDING TO THE NHTSA WEBSITE, THERE ARE TWO RECALLS (00V055000 & 99V220000). I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHETHER OR NOT THERE ARE ANY RECALLS. *TR
THE FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT WORK. IT GOES FROM EMPTY TO FULL ALL THE TIME NO MATTER HOW MUCH GAS YOU HAVE. *TR
BALL JOINTS THIS VEHICLE HAS FAILED MASSACHUSETTS YEARLY INSPECTION 2 YEARS IN A ROW DUE TO SLOPPY BALL JOINTS. IF THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED THE RESULT COULD BE RATHER HAZARDOUS TO ME AND PEOPLE ON THE HIGHWAY. *TR
INTAKE MANIFOLD IS LEAKING WHICH CAUSES OVERHEATING. I'VE OWNED TWO 2000 CHEVY BLAZERS AND HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM IN EACH. *TR
MY FUEL GAUGE IS NOT WORKING I UNDERSTAND THERE IS A RECALL ON IT HOW DO I FIND OUT? *TR
FUEL GAUGE FLUCTUATES WILDLY BETWEEN FULL AND EMPTY WHEN TANK IS LESS THAN HALF FULL. IF YOU LOOK IT UP THE GMC JIMMY WHICH USES THE SAME FUEL SYSTEM HAS THE SAME CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS. YOU NEVER KNOW HOW MUCH GAS YOU HAVE IN THE TANK. THIS CAUSED ME TO RUN OUT OF GAS ON A INTERSTATE HIGHWAY IN THE MIDDLE OF RUSH HOUR AND I WAS UNABLE TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE BECAUSE OF TRAFFIC. LUCKILY NO ONE RAN INTO ME, BUT IT DID CREATE A BAD TRAFFIC PROBLEM. GM REFUSES TO ADMIT THIS A PROBLEM BUT THE MECHANICS I'VE TALKED TO SAY THIS IS A PROBLEM THEY HAVE TO REPAIR ALL THE TIME. THIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE RECALLED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS INJURED OR KILLED. *TR
FUEL GAGE SWITCHES BETWEEN FULL TO EMPTY ALL THE TIME. WHEN THE CAR IS AT STOP AND RUNNING, TO DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. YOU NEVER REALLY KNOW HOW MUCH GAS YOU REALLY HAVE. I HAVE TAKEN TO WRITING DOWN THE MILEAGE EVERY TIME I FILL UP. *TR
I STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND WAS HIT IN THE REAR BY THE VEHICLE BEHIND, DRIVING MY VEHICLE INTO THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. I WAS GIVEN A TRAFFIC TICKET AND MY VEHICLE SUSTAINED DAMAGE TO FRONT AND REAR. THE DRIVER BEHIND ME STATED THAT MY VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE BRAKE LIGHTS. WHICH WAS CONFIRMED BY THE OFFICER. THE DIAGNOSIS BY THE DEALERSHIP WAS THAT THE MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH IN THE STEERING COLUMN WAS BROKEN. THIS WAS DONE ON NOV. 10, 2009 AS I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE THERE DUE TO LEGAL PROBLEMS. I DID HOWEVER CALL GM SOON AFTER THE INCIDENT AND TRY TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM AT THAT TIME . THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP CONTACTED GM FOR POSSIBLE REPAIR. IT WAS NOTED BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THE SWITCH WAS REPLACED UNDER RECALL IN 2002. THE GM CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS ARE TRYING TO DENY REPAIRING AGAIN SAYING THAT THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE TWICE. THIS PART WAS REPLACED WITH ANOTHER BAD PART THAT FAILED LIKE THE FIRST ORIGINAL PART. THEY SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE PART WITH A RELIABLE NEW DESIGN OR BE REQUIRED TO REPLACE IT AGAIN IF IT FAILS AGAIN. *TR
FUEL GAUGE INDICATOR NOT WORKING. I WAS LOOKING ONLINE TO SEE WHAT MAY BE THE PROBLEM. AND I FOUND THOUSANDS OF PERSONAL OWNER REVIEWS AND DEFECTS THEY HAD WITH THEIR 2000 CHEVY BLAZER AND THEY ALL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AS ME.. YOU SHOULD CHECK INTO THAT.. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT SINCE THE REPAIR, THE LOWER BRAKE LIGHT WOULD NOT OPERATE. THERE WAS A SECOND RECALL PERTAINING TO THE SAME FAILURE BUT EXPANDED TO THE MULTI FUNCTION SWITCH (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 08V231000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING: BRAKELIGHTS: SWITCH) HOWEVER THE CONTACT'S VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED WITH THE POTENTIAL OF A FIRE WITH OPEN CIRCUITS ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 103,000.
THE CONTACT'S SPOUSE OWNS THE 2000 CHEVROLET BLAZER. THE CONTRACT STATE THAT THIS DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THEN SHE HIT A DIVIDER AND THE VEHICLE ROLLED OVER SEVERAL TIMES LANDING ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. NEITHER AIR BAR DEPLOYED. THE DRIVER WAS INJURIES AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE IS 85210. JP
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 CHEVROLET BLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BUSHINGS AND HINGE PINS ON HER VEHICLE WERE DEFECTIVE. THE DOORS WOULD ONLY CLOSE BY MANEUVERING THEM IN A CERTAIN MANNER. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THEY ALSO STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS COMMON AND THE CONTACT WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR COSTS. THE WARRANTY EXPIRED ON THE VEHICLE FIVE DAYS AFTER THE COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE PURCHASE DATE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 73,500 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 73,000.
BOTH FRONT SEATS THE RECLINER ASSEMBLY HAS BROKEN OFF IN SPRING OF 2006. CURRENTLY NOT REPAIRED. NOW IN FEBRUARY OF 2008 THE HEATER CORE HAS GONE BAD FOR THE SECOND TIME. FIRST REPLACED IN SUMMER 2005 AND CURRENTLY ABOUT TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. *TR
I WAS RETURNING FROM BEAUFORT, SC WITH MY NIECE'S 1 YR AND 2 YR OLD CHILDREN. MY NIECE IS IN THE MILITARY AND I WAS BRINGING THE KIDS BACK TO STAY WITH MY SISTER, THEIR GRANDMOTHER, FOR A MONTH. OUTSIDE OF ATLANTA ON I75 AT 1:00 AM I HEARD A HUGE BANG AND THE FRONT RIGHT OF MY CAR FLEW INTO THE AIR. I HAD ANOTHER NIECE, WHO WAS 3 MONTHS PREGNANT, WITH ME WHO WAS RIDING IN THE FRONT SEAT. WHEN THE CAR FLEW UP SHE FLEW UP AND HIT THE ROOF OF THE CAR. LUCKILY SHE HAD HER SEAT BELT ON OR SHE MIGHT HAVE BROKEN HER NECK. MY NIECE SAW THAT I WAS TRYING TO GET CONTROL OF THE CAR AND LOOKED OUT THE WINDOW TO SEE IF ANY VEHICLES WERE NEAR SO WE COULD GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. NO VEHICLES WERE AROUND SO WE MADE IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. MY NIECE WALKED BACK DOWN THE HIGHWAY TO SEE IF SHE COULD FIND WHAT WE HAD RAN OVER. WHEN AN OFFICER CAME TO HELP CHANGE THE TIRE TO THE SPARE HE SHOWED ME IT WAS NOT A FLAT TIRE BUT THAT MY RIM HAD EXPLODED. THE OFFICER CHANGED THE TIRE, FOLLOWED US TO MAKE SURE THE CAR WAS DRIVABLE THEN LEFT US TO DRIVE BACK TO CHAMPAIGN, IL. THE EXPLODING RIM CAUSED THE RADIATOR RACK, RIGHT HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY, RIM, TIRE, TO BE FIXED. THEN THE CAR HAD TO BE ALIGNED. LUCKILY MY INSURANCE COMPANY SAFECO, PAID FOR EVERYTHING BUT MY $500 DEDUCTIBLE. I STILL HAVE THE RIM SITTING IN MY KITCHEN IN CASE ANYONE WANTED TO EXAMINE IT. *TR
DRIVING FROM SOUTH CAROLINA TO ILLINOIS, THE ALUMINUM RIM ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE EXPLODED OUTSIDE OF ATLANTA, GA ON I 75. I HAD MY 1 YR. OLD GREAT NEPHEW, 2 YR OLD GREAT NIECE AND 24 YR OLD NIECE WHO IS 4 MONTHS PREGNANT IN THE CAR. NO ONE WAS SERIOUSLY HURT BECAUSE WE WERE ALL WEARING SEATBELTS AND THE BABIES WERE IN CAR SEATS BUT EXTENSIVE DAMAGE WAS DONE TO THE VEHICLE. I HAVE CONTACTED CHEVROLET ABOUT THE RIM BUT HAVE HEARD NOTHING BACK FROM THE COMPANY. *TR

I HAVE A 2000 BLAZER AND I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE FUEL GAUGE FOR THE LAST 6 MONTHS. IT FLUCTUATES BETWEEN FULL & EMPTY CONSTANTLY. ONCE IT HITS A HALF TANK, IT STOPS KEEPING TRACK OF HOW MUCH GAS IS IN THE TANK. HAVEN'T HAD IT FIXED YET. SEEN TOO MANY COMPLAINTS NOW, GM SHOULD REPLACE FOR FREE. *TR

I BOUGHT MY USED 2000 CHEVY BLAZER 4 DOOR 4WD THIS YEAR AND NOTICED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE WAS ERRATIC. WHEN FILLED UP IT READS FULL BUT AFTER DRIVING OVER 150 MILES THE FUEL GAUGE JUMPS AROUND FROM EMPTY TO FULL CONTINUOUSLY. I'VE READ SEVERAL REVIEWS AT THIS SITE AND BELIEVE CHEVY HAS A MAJOR DEFECT IN THE FUEL SENDING UNIT FOR THIS VEHICLE THAT THEY NEED TO RESEARCH AND CORRECT. THE ABS MODULE WENT BAD. SYMPTOMS WERE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES ACTIVATING AT LOW SPEEDS AND VEHICLE NOT STOPPING. YOU PUSH THE BRAKES AND THE PEDAL PUSHED BACK AT YOU. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM FOR THESE VEHICLES. I HAD TO REMOVE THE ABS FUSE BECAUSE IT WAS SAFER TO HAVE NOT HAVE ABS THAN TO APPLY BRAKES AND NOT BEING ABLE TO STOP. THE PART IS ALSO UNAVAILABLE FROM AFTERMARKET STORES, DEALER ONLY ITEM AT $500 A PIECE. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED. *TR
VEHICLE IS EXHIBITING PROBLEMS WITH BRAKE LIGHTS AND HAZARD FLASHERS, CONSISTENT WITH RECALL 01073. THESE ISSUED HAVE BEEN INTERMITTENT, BUT IN THE PAST MONTH HAVE BECOME CONSTANT. CHEVROLET CUSTOMER SERVICE HAS STATED THAT THIS RECALL SERVICE WAS PERFORMED IN 2002. THIS ISSUE WITH LIGHTS HAS OCCURRED SINCE 2007, CONTACT WITH CHEVY HAS BEEN OFF AND ON SINCE THAT POINT. CONTACTED CHEVY TODAY 9/15/2008 BECAUSE MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH HAS NOW STARTED TO SMOKE WHEN TURN SIGNALS ARE USED. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY COMING FROM THE MFC WHICH WAS SUPPOSEDLY REPAIRED IN 2002. CHEVY HAS STATED THAT RECALLS ARE A ONE-TIME FIX AND ANY FURTHER ISSUES AT ANY POINT IS THE LIABILITY OF THE CUSTOMER. THEY ARE UNWILLING TO PROVIDE ANY SUPPORT FOR A RESOLUTION OF A RECALL REPAIR WITH WAS PERFORMED ONLY 6 YEARS AGO. IF THIS ISSUE IS UNRELATED TO THE 01073 RECALL, I AM WILLING TO PAY FOR REPAIRS OUT OF MY POCKET, BUT I WANT CHEVY TO INITIATE THE DIAGNOSIS, INSTEAD THEY ARE TELLING ME THAT THEY WILL PROVIDE NO FINANCIAL SUPPORT WHATSOEVER TO EVEN DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THIS ERROR. I HAVE STRESSED THE IMPORTANCE OF OPERATING A VEHICLE WITH ALL SAFETY FEATURES INTACT, AND IT IS OBVIOUS THAT THE SAME PROBLEM THAT 01073 ADDRESSED HAS RECURRED. I PARKED VEHICLE AFTER DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MINUTES ON A HIGHWAY. BEGAN RETURN TRIP APPROXIMATELY 1 HOUR LATER AND ABS LIGHT CAME ON. UPON ENTERING THE HIGHWAY THE ABS LIGHT WENT OUT AND THE ENGINE BEGAN TO REV AND WOULDN'T SHIFT INTO HIGH GEAR. WAS ABLE TO USE LOCAL ACCESS ROADS TO GET HOME. PROBLEM DIAGNOSED BY AN INDEPENDENT GARAGE AND CORROBORATED BY TRANSMISSION REPAIR CENTER AS TRANSMISSION FAILURE. NO APPARENT PROBLEM WITH THE ABS. VEHICLE HAS 20,235 MILES ON IT, AND WE WERE THE ORIGINAL OWNERS. VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN TAKEN OFF THE ROAD, HAS NEVER TOWED ANYTHING, AND HAS PROBABLY ONLY BEEN PUT INTO 4-WD 20 TIMES. COMPLETE TRANSMISSION REBUILD REQUIRED AT A COST TO US OF $2,000.*AK

ALSO, THE DEALER STATED THAT THE SHAFT IN THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BUT THE CONSUMER STATES THAT THE DEALER DIDN'T REPLACE THE SHAFT. I BOUGHT THE 2000 BLAZER USED JUST OVER A YEAR AGO AND HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS. TO BEGIN, I REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR, FUEL PUMP, AND VIRTUALLY ALL SUSPENSION COMPONENTS IN THE FRONT END WITH JUST OVER 65,000 MILES. ON VACATION DURING ONE OF THE HOTTEST DAYS OF THE YEAR TRAVELING HOME THE BLAZER OVER HEATED AND LEFT MY FAMILY AND I STRANDED ON A MAJOR INTERSTATE WITH NO A/C FOR NEARLY AN HOUR BEFORE GETTING TOWED TO THE WORST CHEVROLET DEALER IN THE COUNTRY(RICHMOND, VA). WE WERE FORCED TO PAY FOR A NEW RADIATOR AND MISCELLANEOUS PARTS TOTALING OVER $600. THEY SAID THE COOLANT SYSTEM WAS FULL OF RUST AND THE RADIATOR WAS PLUGGED AND COULD NOT BE REUSED. NOW I'M EXPERIENCING THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON THAT WILL NOT GO OUT. AFTER NUMEROUS TRIPS TO THE DEALER THAT STARTED WITH LEAKING OIL COOLER LINES, THEY SAID THAT THE CRANK SENSOR WAS GOING BAD. I REPLACED IT, STILL THE LIGHT STAYS ON. NEXT THEY SAY THERE IS A MISFIRE IN CYLINDER 2, I REPLACE THE PLUGS, WIRES, ROTOR, AND CAP. STILL THE LIGHT STAYS ON. ALL OF THESE REPAIRS WITHIN THE FIRST 14 MONTHS OF OWNING THIS JUNK AND IT IS NOT ANYWHERE NEAR BEING PAID FOR. GM NEEDS TO FIX THESE PROBLEMS. I HAVE SPOKE WITH OTHER BLAZER OWNERS AND THEY TOO HAVE EXPERIENCED NOTHING BUT TROUBLE. AND THE BIG 3 WONDER WHY THEY ARE LOSING CUSTOMERS AND MARKET SHARE. HAVE THEY EVER HEARD OF QUALITY? I WAS BACKING MY 2000 CHEVY BLAZER AND HIT MY 2007 YUKON AT LESS THAN 2 MPH. THERE WAS LITTLE TO NO DAMAGE SUSTAINED TO THE YUKON, BUT THE WHOLE REAR TAILGATE HAD TO BE REPLACED ON THE BLAZER. A WHOLE NEW REAR TAILGATE ASSEMBLY HAD TO BE REPLACED WITH ALL ACCESSORIES. *JB

THEN WHEN YOU TAKE OFF AFTER YOU STOPPED (BY THE EMERGENCY BREAK)THE BACK END SLIDES SIDEWAYS LIKE THE FRONT BREAKS ARE LOCKED UP. I ALMOST KILLED MYSELF AND MY KIDS BECAUSE I COULDN'T STOP!
