TL* - THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH ON 2000 CHEVROLET BLAZER, DID NOT TURN ON WHEN BRAKES WER APPLIED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP TO BE SERVICED ,AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. NEITHER THE ROAD CONDITIONS NOR THE WEATHER WERE FACTORS IN THE FAILURE. *AK
SEE NHTSA ITEM# 623034. SECURITY LAMP ILLUMINATES WHILE DRIVING AND THEN THE ASSOCIATED "PASSLOCK" SECURITY SYSTEM EITHER STALLS OUT MY ENGINE WHILE DRIVING OR CAUSES A SHUT-DOWN OF MY VEHICLE WHEREBY THE ENGINE WILL NOT START FOR AT LEAST 10 MINUTES. THIS HAS HAPPENED LATE AT NIGHT, AT INTERSECTIONS, GAS STATIONS, ETC. THE AMOUNT OF TIMES I HAVE HAD TO WAIT FOR THIS SECURITY SYSTEM TO "RESET" HAS BECOME FRUSTRATING. I HAVE DONE EXTENSIVE RESEARCH ON THIS VIA RESPECTABLE ONLINE FORUMS, AND THERE ARE MANY OWNERS NOT JUST OF THE 2000 CHEVROLET BLAZER BUT OF A NUMBER OF VEHICLES IN THE ENTIRE GM FAMILY WHO HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM. WE ARE ALL CRYING OUT FOR A RECOGNITION OF THIS BEING A SAFETY ISSUE, NOT JUST AN ISSUE OF INCONVENIENCE. FAILURE TO START AND STALLING ARE SYMPTOMS THAT ARE ONLY GOING TO LEAD IN ONE DIRECTION. THERE ARE LITERALLY HUNDREDS OF POSTS ON THIS ISSUE IF ONE GOES TO AN ONLINE FORUM AND SEARCHES UNDER THE TERMS "SECURITY LIGHT" OR "PASSLOCK" WITHIN THE GM CONTEXT. I HAVE BEEN TO MY DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES, HAVE ATTEMPTED TO WORK WITH CHEVROLET, AND NOTHING SEEMS TO BE GETTING RESOLVED. I AM UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT A MECHANICAL SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM DOES NOT EXIST, SHORT OF DISABLING THE SYSTEM ALTOGETHER (WHICH DEALERS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DO). I WOULD WELCOME ANY FURTHER CONTACT FROM NHTSA REGARDING THIS MATTER AND WOULD GLADLY GO TO THE EXPENSE OF PHOTOCOPYING AND SENDING THE BINDER OF MATERIALS I HAVE COLLECTED ON THIS SUBJECT. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 CHEVROLET BLAZER. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE ICON ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY DISCOVERED THAT THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE CONTROL MODULE FAILED. THERE IS NO RECALL ON THE CONTROL MODULE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 50,041 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000.
MY VEHICLE WAS TOWED ON OCTOBER 25, 2006 BY MASTER TOWING CO. IN SAN MARCOS, TEXAS. LATER THAT EVENING I WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE WRECKER SERVICE AND PAY TO GET MY VEHICLE OUT OF IMPOUND. ONCE I GOT HOME, I NOTICED THAT MY ENTIRE CD CASE FULL OF COMPACT DISCS WAS MISSING. ITS VALUED AT ABOUT $500 IF NOT MORE. I THEN CALLED THE WRECKER SERVICE THE NEXT MORNING AND WAS NOT ABLE TO GET A HOLD OF ANYONE UNTIL MONDAY OCT. 27, 2006. I THEN SPOKE TO A MANAGER BY THE NAME OF ANGIE AND SHE TOLD ME SHE WOULD SPEAK WITH HER DRIVERS. SHE NEVER GOT BACK TO ME SO I CONSISTENTLY CALLED UNTIL I GOT A RESPONSE. WHEN I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GET A HOLD OF HER SHE SAID THAT NONE OF HER DRIVERS HAD SEEN OR PICKED IT UP AND THAT HER COMPANY WAS NOT LIABLE FOR MY MISSING ITEMS. SHE DID NOT EVEN SEEM VERY CONCERNED WITH TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT REALLY HAPPENED OR TRY AND AT LEAST FIND THEM. SHE TOLD ME SHE WOULD GET BACK TO ME ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND SHE NEVER DID. I WAS THE ONE TO CONSISTENTLY TRY AND GET A HOLD OF HER. THIS WHOLE SITUATION IS VERY UPSETTING. IN THE MEAN TIME I CONTACTED THE OFFICER WHO DEALT WITH MY VEHICLE BEING IMPOUNDED AND HE TOLD ME HE DISTINCTLY REMEMBERED THERE BEING 2 CD CASES IN MY VEHICLE AND I TOLD HIM ONCE I PICKED THE VEHICLE BACK UP THERE WAS ONLY ONE CD CASE LEFT IN MY VEHICLE. HE INFORMED ME THAT I WAS ABLE TO FILE A THEFT POLICE REPORT WHICH I AM CURRENTLY IN THE PROCESS OF DOING AND HE ALSO TOLD ME TO CONTACT THE DOT. SO THAT IS MY CURRENT SITUATION. I AM VERY UPSET. THIS I AM NOT TAKING LIGHTLY AND I WOULD LIKE TO TRY AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. I GOT MY CAR IMPOUNDED, THAT WAS ENOUGH! TRANSMISSION FAILURE WHILE PUTTING INTO REVERSE, NO REVERSE OR THIRD GEARS. TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE OVERHAULED. *NM
2ND CHEVY BLAZER I'VE OWNED THAT HAD BALL JOINTS GO BAD. I'VE OWNED SEVERAL VEHICLES FOR AS LONG OR LONGER WITH MORE MILES & NEVER HAD TO REPLACE BALL JOINTS ON THOSE. 1ST BLAZER WAS A 1997 THAT I REPLACED BALL JOINTS ON IN 2003, NOW I HAVE A 2000 BLAZER AND HAVE TO REPLACE THE BALL JOINTS ON IT. *NM
I HAVE A 2000 CHEVROLET BLAZER AND AROUND A YEAR AND A HALF AGO MY DRIVERS SIDE DOOR STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH CLOSING IT. I TOOK IT TO A REPAIR SHOP AND THEY SAID DOOR WAS TOO HEAVY AND THE BUSHINGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND REPAIR THE STRIKER PLATE. THAT COST WAS $175 AND SHORTLY AFTER THE DOOR STARTED SLIPPING DOWN AGAIN. NOW THE PASSENGERS SIDE IS DOING THE SAME THING, I CAN CLOSE IT BUT CANNOT USE IT. I HAVE A SON THAT I DO NOT FEEL SAFE LETTING HIM SIT IN THE FRONT WITH ME BECAUSE AFTER DRIVING AND GOING OVER BUMPS IT GETS JARRED AND STARTS COMING OPEN. THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE ISSUE AND UNTIL NOW I DID NOT KNOW WHO TO COMPLAIN TO. I ALSO HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER FOR ANY OF THE LISTED RECALL PROBLEMS SUCH AS SEAT BELTS. I REALLY WOULD LIKE A RESPONSE TO THIS COMPLAINT BECAUSE THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE. *TR
DT*: THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER'S SIDE DOOR BUSHINGS ON THE HINGES ARE WEARING OUT PREMATURELY. THE HINGES START WEARING INTO THE BRACKET WHICH CAUSES THE DOORS TO DROP DOWN. THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED THE CONTACT THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES.
DRIVERS SIDE UPPER BALL JOINT SEPARATED WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN OFF OF A MAIN STREET ONTO A SIDE STREET. THE WHEEL FOLDED INTO THE WHEEL WELL CAUSING THE 2000 WORTH OF DAMAGE. CHEVY BLAZER CAME TO A SUDDEN HALT. MY FAMILY WAS VERY LUCKY WE WERE NOT GOING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHEN THIS OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY 72,000 MILES. I HAD JUST LUBED THE FRONT END AND CHANGED THE OIL CHANGE THE DAY BEFORE. *JB
TEETH BROKEN ON RING GEAR IN DIFFERENTIAL. DEALER INSTALLED NEW RING & PINION GEAR, SIDE BEARINGS AND ADDED NEW OIL. PARTS = $1128.15; LABOR = $501.50; TAX = $93.08; TOTAL COST = $1722.73. *NM
BLAZER SEEPING OIL FROM OIL PAN, WILL NOT FIX ONLY IF I PAY 75% DUE TO 90 DAY WARRANTY,AND TOLD IF THEY WOULD FIX IT I WOULD ONLY CREATE MORE PROBLEMS, IT WAS ALSO TOLD BY DEALER AND CHEVY THAT IT IS NORMAL FOR YEAR AND MILEAGE, I DON'T THINK SO WITH 47,000 MILES, WHEN I OWNED A 97 CHEVY WITH 97,000 MILES , NO LEAKS BUT SALESMAN KNEW OF IT 3 WEEKS AFTER PURCHASE WHEN 30 DAY BUMPER TO BUMPER EXISTED,WAS AT DEALERSHIP JULY 6, 2006 FOR ALL ITEMS BUT CHEVY NOR DEALERSHIP DOCUMENTED IT OR THE GREASE FITTINGS, LUBE, CHECK FLUID LEVELS LIKE WAS SUPPOSE TO DO, SALESMAN CHECKED FLUIDS FOR ME AFTER THEY NEGLECTED TO DO THEIR JOB.. SO CHEVY SAYS CAN'T GO BY SALESMAN BECAUSE HE NO LONGER WORKS THERE, SEEPING OIL FROM OIL PAN IS NOT NORMAL, I DIDN'T RECEIVE A ODOMETER PAPER ON IT OR MY TRADE IN.. I FEEL THEY ARE DOING ME WRONG AND CHEVY IS BACKING THEM UP, I EVEN GAVE SALESMAN NUMBER AND TOLD THEM I HAVE A NOTE PAD HERE OF ALL THAT WAS TO BE DONE WITH PAGES AFTER ON NOTE PAD WRITTEN ON AFTER THAT DAY AND THEY WON'T LISTEN. THEY NEVER GAVE ME CORRECT MILEAGE ON IT WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. *JB
ABS ACTIVATES WHILE BRAKING AT LOW SPEEDS CAUSING AN INCREASED STOPPING DISTANCE WHICH HAS NEARLY RESULTED IN HITTING PEDESTRIANS OR OTHER VEHICLES. THIS HAPPENS SEVERAL TIMES DAILY. *JB
FRONT END IS JUNK,THE SMELL OF RAW GAS WHEN FUELING UP AND REPLACED OIL LINE, STEERING PARTS, DOOR PIN, BACK LIGHT, RIGHT HUB, BEFORE SERVICE WARRANTY WAS UP. THEN OF COARSE THE, ROTORS WENT ALONG WITH THE LEFT HUB AND HEATER CORE WENT,.. THE BLAZER HAS BEEN A LEMON SINCE I BOUGHT IT NEW. CRIED ALOT.. I JUST TURNED THE 100,000 ON 7/15/10 COULDN'T GO ANYWHERE CAUSE IT WAS IN THE SHOP BEING FIXED... LEMON SO MUCH FOR BUYING NEW. *TR
THE GROMMET ON DOOR HINGE IS WORN DUE TO MISALIGNMENT OF DOOR WHICH CAUSED THE DOOR LATCH TO HIT THE STRIKER IMPROPERLY. THIS RESULTED IN THE STRIKER BENDING AND EVENTUALLY CAUSED TOO MUCH PRESSURE ON THE DOOR WELL CAUSING THE BODY FRAME TO CRACK. ACCORDING TO THE BODY SHOP ESTIMATOR THIS IS EXTREMELY COMMON IN CHEVROLET BLAZERS. *NM

WE HAVE OWNED 2000 BLAZER SINCE 0/6/2001 2ND OWNER BOUGHT WITH LESS THAN 19000 MILES ON IT. MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH REPLACED BECAUSE OF RECALL ACTS UP WHEN BULBS ARE WEAK. WE ARE ON THE THIRD SET OF UPPER BALL JOINTS NONE PAID FOR BY WARRANTY. LEFT HUB ASSEMBLY FAILURE WHICH RESULTED IN ABS MALFUNCTION FIXED BY EXTENDED WARRANTY. DRIVER DOOR HINGE ASSEMBLY RUSTED WOULD NOT CLOSE WITHOUT FORCE FIXED BUT NOT COVERED BY ANY WARRANTY. SUSPECT DRIVER SIDE IS STARTING TO FAIL AGAIN BECAUSE OF THE LOUD SQUEAKING. MOST IMPORTANT! PASSENGER SIDE DOOR HAS DEVELOPED SAME PROBLEM AND WILL NOT SHUT CORRECTLY. ON MAY 01,2006 AFTER PICKING UP MY 12 YEAR OLD NEPHEW WE WERE TO STARTING TO DOWN THE STREET WHEN PASSENGER DOOR FLEW OPEN!!!! I AM AFRAID TO LET ANYONE SIT IN FRONT UNTIL THIS IS FIXED! THE HINGES AND PINS APPEAR TO BE GETTING WET AND RUSTING . ALSO ALL ROTORS HAVE HAD TO BE REPLACED ON THIS VEHICLE . THIS BLAZER HAS ONLY 88,000 MILES ON IT. I HAVE DECIDED TO INCLUDE ALL PROBLEMS BUT AM MOST CONCERNED ABOUT DOORS, IF WE HAD BEEN GOING FASTER I AM AFRAID MY NEPHEW WOULD HAVE FALLEN OUT OF VEHICLE!!! *JB
FUEL GAUGE FLUCTUATES VIOLENTLY AND RAPIDLY REGARDLESS OF THE AMOUNT OF GAS IN TANK. PROBLEM HAS EXISTED FOR OVER TWO YEARS AND APPEARS TO BE A COMMON DEFECT WITH PART. ATTEMPT TO REPLACE HOWEVER OPTIONS ARE LIMITED DUE TO SENDING UNIT AND FUEL TOGETHER AS ONE UNIT. *TR
1) MISALIGNMENT OF DRIVER SIDE DOOR OBSERVED; FOLLOWED BY AWARENESS OF INCREASING WIND NOISE WHILE DRIVING 2) REMOVAL, REPAIR, AND REPLACEMENT WILL INCREASE WITH TIME; $250 FOR PIN AND BUSHING REPLACEMENT, UP TO $1,200 FOR COMPLETE DOOR HINGE REPLACEMENT 3) REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT OF PIN AND BUSHING ON DRIVERS DOOR RECOMMENDED. *JB
I HAVE PURCHASED A 2000 CHERVOLET BLAZER, I HAVE A FAULTY FUEL PUMP GAUGE, ONE THAT WILL NEVER TELL YOU THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF GAS. THIS LEAD ME INTO RUNNING OUT OF GAS AT A VERY UNCIVILIZED AREA, AND IT COULD HAVE ENDED UP BEING A WRECK, IF A EMERGENCY LANE WASN'T AVAILABLE. A FEW WEEKS LATER I LEARNED THAT A ENTIRE FUEL PUMP WAS NEEDED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I RESEARCHED THIS ON THE INTERNET AND FROM TALKED TO OTHER PEOPLE WITH BLAZERS: THEY ALL HAVE THE SAME ISSUES, GAS PROBLEMS, AND I BELIEVE CHEVY IS IN FAULT HERE FOR PRODUCING A FAULTY FUEL PUMP TO THOUSANDS OF OWNERS. THIS PART COSTS $400 TO REPLACE. *NM
PO410 CODE FOR EMISSIONS SYSTEM - SECONDARY AIR PUMP I HAVE HAD THE CAR 5 YEARS. HAVE REPLACED 2 SECONDARY AIR PUMPS ON EMISSIONS SYSTEM AT CONSIDERABLE COST. BOTH CORRODED FROM WATER ENTRY. KNOWN COMMON PROBLEM ON BLAZERS. *NM
I OWN A 2000 CHEVROLET BLAZER, 4 DR. LT MODEL. THE FUEL GAUGE IS ERRATIC AND WILL BOUNCE ALL OVER THE RANGE, WHENEVER THE FUEL LEVEL IS AT APPROX. 1/2 TANK OR LESS. THIS HAS CAUSED ME TO RUN OUT OF FUEL, ON THE HIGHWAY, BECAUSE I THOUGHT THAT THERE WAS FUEL IN THE VEHICLE; BUT THE GAUGE WAS NOT REGISTERING CORRECTLY. THE LOCAL DEALER WANTS OVER $900.00 TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. IN DOING SOME ONLINE RESEARCH, THIS APPEARS TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM, AND GM SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL AND FIX THIS PROBLEM. *NM
I HAVE A 2000 CHEVY BLAZER ON DECEMBER 16, 2005 THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT. IT ONLY HAS 70,000 MILES ON IT. WHEN I WENT ONLINE TO SEE IF I COULD FIND A TRANSMISSION FOR IT, ALL I FOUND WAS SEVERAL WEBSITES THAT COMPLAINED ABOUT THE 2000 CHEVY BLAZER TRANSMISSION AND ALL THE PROBLEMS IT WAS HAVING. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 CHEVROLET BLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO 4 WHEEL DRIVE. A NEW SWITCH WAS INSTALLED AND TEMPORARILY CORRECTED THE FAILURE BEFORE IT RECURRED. THE DEALER WOULD NOT REPAIR THE VEHICLE WITHOUT CHARGING A SERVICE FEE. THE PURCHASE DATE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 102,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.
DT: THE CONTACT STATES THERE IS NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN ID 01V364000 CONCERNING THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH. THIS VEHICLE HAS THE SAME PROBLEMS AS INDICATED IN THE RECALL, BUT IT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL DUE TO VIN. THE CONTACT HAS NOT HAD THE VEHICLE REPAIRED.*AK
BRAKE ROTORS ARE SO RUSTY THEY MUST BE REPLACED.*JB
BALL JOINTS UPPER AND LOWER REPLACED AT 40K AND 100K MILES. WILL BE NEEDING TO BE REPLACED AGAIN VERY SOON AT 140K MILES. THE REPLACEMENT AT 40K WAS A TOTAL FAILURE OF PASSENGER SIDE BALL JOINTS TO WIT: VEHICLE WAS INCAPACITATED AS WHEEL WAS LEFT 'BENT'. FUEL GAUGE FLUCTUATED WILDLY IF LESS THAN 1/3 TANK OF GAS. FUEL PUMP FAILED. *JB
RADLEY CHEVROLET DID NOT PROVIDE US WITH A RECALL NOTICE ON BRAKE LIGHTS NOT WORKING. WE HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH OUR 2000 CHEVROLET BLAZER FROM THE START. WE HAVE BEEN NOW TOLD THAT THE IDLER ARM ON THE CAR IS A SAFETY HAZARD. WE ALSO HAD THE FUEL GAUGE GO OUT. HOW OFTEN DO THESE COMPONENTS GO OUT. CAN YOU TELL ME ANYTHING ABOUT THE IDLER ARM AND IS THERE ANY RECALLS FOR THIS ITEM. *JB
ACCELERATOR STICKING. FROM STANDING START, ACCELERATORS PEDAL REQUIRES CONSIDERABLE PRESSURE TO MOVE FROM RESTING POSITION. AS PEDAL IS DEPRESSED, VEHICLE JUMPS FORWARD BEFORE OPERATOR CAN REMOVE PRESSURE. COMPLAINTS TO DEALER RESULTED IN THE ESTIMATE OF A $100.00 CHARGE TO CLEAN CARBON FROM THROTTLE BODY AND APPLY A CHEMICAL TREATMENT TO HELP PREVENT FURTHER STICKING. THIS SHOULD NOT BE A MAINTENANCE ITEM AS IT COULD RESULT IN UNCONTROLLED ACCELERATION, POSSIBLE LOSS OF CONTROL, AND ACCIDENT. DEALER DIAGNOSIS WAS ALMOST INSTANTANEOUS SO THE PROBLEM MUST BE A COMMON ONE.*NM
MY 2000 BLAZER LS ZR2 HAS 68000 MILES ON IT. AROUND NOVEMBER 2005, WHEN I NEEDED MY HEATER IN THE MORNINGS, I NOTICED THAT IT WOULD NOT BLOW ANY HOT AIR. I HAVE HAD THE COOLING SYSTEM FLUSHED AND REPLACED THE THERMOSTAT AND STILL HAVE NO HEAT. I CAN SMELL COOLANT EVERY NOW AND THEN WHILE I AM DRIVING. SO, I AM LED TO BELIEVE THAT MY HEATER CORE IS LEAKING AND OR BLOCKED. I HAVE DONE SOME SEARCHING AROUND THE INTERNET AND HAVE NOTICED THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH BLAZER'S AND IT IS CAUSED BY THE DEX-COOL COOLING FORMING A "SLUDGE" IN THE COOLING SYSTEM. I FEEL THAT GM SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR MY REPAIRS, AS THEY HAVE KNOWN OF THIS ISSUE FOR YEARS, YET STILL CONTINUE TO MANUFACTURE VEHICLES WITH THIS TYPE OF COOLANT ANYHOW. *NM
2000 BLAZER TRANSMISSION FAILED, COST $3000 TO REPAIR. LEFT BALL JOINT FAILED AND REPLACED ALL $500, PITMAN ARM, IDLER ARM, TIE RODS RIGHT AND LEFT NEEDED REPLACEMENT. LEFT FRONT WHEEL BEARING HUB FAILED AND WAS REPLACED, BOTH $800. OVERHEATING DUE TO DEXCOOL LEAK AT INTAKE NEEDED REPLACEMENT. I HAVE A $20,000 PIECE OF JUNK SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY.THIS WAS ONGOING FROM EARLIER YEAR MODELS BUT NO RECALLS FOR THIS YEAR ,WHY NO BODY DIED ? FUEL GAUGE BOUNCED. *AK
I HAVE A 2000 BLAZER WITH 58,000 MILES AND THE FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. I HAVE HEARD DEALERS AND MECHANICS SAY THAT IT IS COMMON PROBLEM WITH CHEVROLET. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THEY PLAN TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE. ALSO, MY LOCKING REAR DIFFERENTIAL DOES NOT WORK. MY BROTHER HAD IT REPLACED TWICE UNDER WARRANTY ON HIS 2004 Z71.*JB
GAS PEDAL STICKING- NOT ALL THE TIME BUT FREQUENTLY, AND OF COURSE NOT WHEN I HAVE IT AT THE GARAGE.
MY VEHICLE WAS RECENTLY PURCHASED FROM A COWORKER WITH A KNOWN RECALL THAT WAS ALREADY FIXED ONCE AND NOW IS NOT FUNCTIONING AGAIN. I CALLED CHEVROLET AND THEY TOLD ME THERE IS NOT MUCH THEY COULD DO SINCE IT WAS BEYOND THE WARRANTY ,I HAD IT DIAGNOSED AT A DEALERSHIP WHICH COST ME $85.00 TO TELL ME WHAT I ALREADY KNEW BUT THEY WOULD NOT FIX IT. THIS IS FAILURE THAT IS KNOWN AND I BELIEVE WAS NOT CORRECTED THE FIRST TIME SO I SHOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR COSTS SINCE IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE ITEM IS A 4 WAY SWITCH. *NM

ON SEPT 10 2005 I TOOK MY CAR TO HAVE A TUNE UP DONE ON IT AND THE MECHANIC TOLD MY HUSBAND THAT THE REAR END OF MY VEHICLE WAS ABOUT TO GO. I HAD JUST PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ABOUT 7 MONTHS PRIOR TO THIS HAPPENING AND I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED ON A 2000 CHEV BLAZER, WITH THAT LOW OF MILEAGE. I HAD NOTIFIED THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR AND THEY IN TURN WANTED TO PUT ME INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE BUT THAT IS NOT WHAT I WANTED I HAD WANTED THEM TO FIX MY CAR THE ONE THAT THEY HAD SOLD TO ME. I WANT TO KNOW IF THERE IS ANYTHING THAT CAN BE DONE TO GET MY CAR TO RUN RIGHT, SO THAT I MAY USE IT AND NOT PAY FOR ONE TO SIT IN MY DRIVE WAY. LIVE IN TN, OFTEN TRAVEL TO MI ANTI-LOCK BRAKE PUMP WOULD ENGAGE AT 10 MPH WHEN BRAKING IN NORMAL CONDITIONS. SAME PROBLEM AND SOLUTION AS THE VEHICLES IN GM'S CURRENT TRUCK AND SUV RECALL, BUT THIS IS A 2000 BLAZER. *JB
A RECALL ON THE MULTI-PURPOSE SWITCH WAS RECIEVED AND PART WAS REPLACED IN APRIL OF 2002. ON MONDAY AUGUST 22,2005 THE SAME SWITCH WAS REPLACED AGAIN AT MY EXPENCE.GM SHOULD CORRECT THR REAL PROBLEM AND NOT JUST THE PARTS.ALSO THE PASSANGE SEAT ADJUSTER HAS BROKEN OFF.AND IN ADDITION THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY.

PROBLEM WITH THE DEX-COOL SYSTEM IN MY 2000 CHEV BLAZER---HEATER WENT OUT JULY 2004, WAS UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY AND HEATER CORE REPLACED, RADIATOR WAS FLUSHED AT THE SAME TIME. ONE YEAR LATER VEHICLE OVER-HEATING AGAIN, NO LONGER UNDER EXT WARRANTY...PAID $212 FOR THE FLUSH TODAY AND FILED COMPLAINT W/ GM DUE TO THE OBVIOUS PROBLEM WHICH THEY DENY WITH DEX-COOL ( 8 STATES HAVE CLASS-ACTION SUITS). WAS TOLD BY GM REP THAT THE COOLANT SYSTEM IS A MAINTAINENCE ITEM AND THEY COULD NOT ASSIST OR ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY IN THE REAPAIR COST. SPOKE WITH THE GM DEALERSHIP WHO ARGUED MY CASE, ASKED WHAT MAINTAINENCE REQUIRED ON MY PART, SINCE THE DEX-COOL MAINT SCHEDULE IS 155K MILES, MAINT FREE---MY VEHICLE HAS 70K MILES AND SECOND FLUSH IN 12 MO PERIOD. WAS TOLD BY DEALERSHIP THAT NOTHING I COULD REALLY DO TO MAINTAIN, JUST KEEP CHECK ON COOLANT LEVEL EVERY OIL CHANGE, AND SYSTEM COULD FAIL AGAIN AT ANY TIME--NO GUARANTEEE AND THE DEALERSHIP ALSO ARGUED WITH GM REP---THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH DEX-COOL ANTIFREEZE.......I PAID THE COST, BUT AFTER PURCHASING GM PRODUCTS FOR THE PAST 30 YEARS, IF I AM FACED WITH ADDITIONAL COST OF AN APPARENT DEFECT BY THE MANUFACTURER...I WILL GO TO ANOTHER MAKE OF CAR---THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME

THE DRIVER'S SEAT BACK ADJUSTMENT LEVER BROKE OFF AT THE ROD CONNECTING IT. , NO ADJUSTING COULD BE DONE. THE PART WAS REPAIRED, AND A NEW HANDLE HAD TO BE ORDERED, BECAUSE CHEVROLET DECIDEDR ROD, MADE OUT OF A HEAVIER METAL, WHICH WOULDN'T FIT THE OLD LEVER. THE RESULTING CHARGES WERE $76.35 FOR THE RECLINER, $8.37 FOR THE HANDLE, AND $86.40 FOR LABOR. THERE ARE JUST OVER 59,000 MI. ON THIS 2000 BLAZER.*AK
I NOTCED SEVERAL TIMES WHEN I WOULD STOP THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD JUIMP FORWARD AND NOT COMPLETELY STOP. I WAS GOING TO THE GARAGE TO SEE MY MECHANIC. MY FAMILY AND I WERE ALMOST HIT BROADSIDE WHEN I TRIED TO STOP AT A RED LIGHT. WHEN I PUT ON THE BRAKES I SLOWED DOWN BUT WHEN I GOT UNDER 10MPH THE VEHICLE STARTED TO JUMP. THE VEHICLE FINALLY SPOPPED AFTER I WAS THROUGH THE INTERSECTION. THE MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT THE FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS WERE WORN. HE SAID THAT THE SENSORS FOR THE ABS SYSTEM WERE IN THE BEARINGS. SO WHEN I TRIED TO STOP THE ABS SYSTEM KICKED IN. THAT IS WHY I COULDN'T STOP ! THIS WAS A VERY FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE FOR ME AND MY FAMILY. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN! THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS AND THE VEHICLE SEEMS OK NOW. I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. THE VEHICLE IS ONLY 5 YRS OLD.
THE HANDLE THAT ALLOWS YOU TO RECLINE THE SEAT BROKE OFF FLUSHED WITH THE SEAT, THIS HAPPENED TO BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATS IN JUNE 2005. THE HOOD WILL NOT POP UP WHEN THE LEVER WAS PULLED UNTIL ONE BANGED ON THE GRILL OR THE HOOD IN CERTAIN SPOTS, WHICH JUST STARTED IN MARCH OF 2007. THE GAS MILEAGE DROPPED FROM 20 MPG TO 16 MPG WITHIN 6 MONTHS. THE BACK GLASS STUCK AND WAS HARD TO OPEN, STARTED IN 2006. WHEN TURNING ON THE AIR CONDITIONER (A/C ) THE CAR HAD NO POWER, I HAVE TO TURN IT OFF WHEN ACCELERATING ON THE INTERSTATE OR ON HILLS. IF THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS SET IT KICKED OFF WHEN THE A/C WAS ON. WHEN I NEEDED TO STOP QUICKLY THE BRAKES FAILED, AND FELT A GRINDING SENSATION THROUGH THE PEDAL, BUT THE MECHANIC CHANGED THE BRAKES AND CHECKED THE ROTORS, BUT HASN'T FOUND ANY PROBLEM. SUSPECTED A DEFECT SOMEWHERE IN THE BRAKE SYSTEM\ AS OF 2005. THE FAN KICKED ON ALL THE TIME, EVEN WHEN THE ENGINE WAS COLD, AND IN WINTER WHEN FIRST STARTING. ONE MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT IN MANY BLAZERS THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER BROKE OFF IN THE MUFFLER, WHICH HAD TO BE REPLACED. HAD BEEN TOLD THIS HAPPENED SO MUCH THAT MOST PEOPLE LEFT THEM OFF. TOO MANY OTHER PROBLEMS TO MENTIONED. ALSO, THE HORN WORKED ONLY WHEN IT WANTED TO, PROBLEM IN THE STEERING WHEEL. *AK

BATTERY HAS BEEN REPLACED AT LEAST TWICE. ALL BALL JOINTS REPLACED AT LEAST ONCE TO MY KNOWLEDGE. FUEL GAUGE BROKE BEFORE 50000 MILES. SEAT HANDLE ON PASSENGER'S SIDE BROKEN BEFORE 50000 MILES. TAILGATE WON'T OPEN. PASSENGER SIDE WINDSHIELD WIPER ONLY MOVES HALF THE TIME. THAT IS ALL THAT I CAN RECALL RIGHT NOW.*AK

HOWEVER AFTER CONTACTING A DEALERSHIP I WAS INFORMED THAT THIS IS A VEHICLE SPECIFIC RECALL AND THAT MY VEHICLE DOES NOT FALL INTO THIS RECALL EVEN THOUGH THE PROBLEM IS EXACTLY THE SAME.
