ON THE WAY BACK FROM A WEEKEND CAMPING TRIP WE STOPPED FOR LUNCH. WHEN WE RETURNED TO THE VEHICLE TO LEAVE THERE WAS A GRINDING NOISE AND THEN A WHIRLING NOISE AND THE REVERSE GEAR WENT OUT ON THE TRANSMISSION. WHEN WE GOT HOME AND I CALLED AROUND I FOUND THAT THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. *NM
WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH THE 4-WHEEL DRIVE ENGAGED. CONSUMER PULLED OVER AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK
NUMEROUS PROBLEMS. ALL AFTER WARRANTY EXPIRED. HAVE A 2000 CHEVROLET S10 BLAZER 2 DR. IT IS A 4X4 WITH A 4.3L V6. SEAT HANDLES BROKE A COUPLE OF TIMES. TERRIBLE LIFESPAN ON THOSE. HAD REPLACED TWICE.*AK REPLACED DEFECTIVE ALTERNATOR. WASN'T HOLDING CHARGE. ALSO LED TO A NEW BATTERY AND SERPENTINE BELT. HAD TO REPLACE FUSES FOR FUEL GAUGE. IT WAS JUMPING ALL OVER THE PLACE GIVING INCORRECT READINGS. HAD TO REPLACE NUMEROUS FUSES. TERRIBLE WHINING COMING FROM THE FUEL PUMP. CHEVY DEALER TELLS ME IT IS TESTING FINE. BUT NOW I AM HAVING WHAT SEEMS LIKE VAPOR LOCK PROBLEMS ON HOT DAYS. I'LL GO TO ACCELERATE AND THE VEHICLE WILL GO NO WHERE AND THEN CATCH AND ACCELERATE. ACTS LIKE IT'S GOING TO DIE BUT HASN'T YET. DIAGNOSTICS SHOWED NOTHING. TERRIBLY SPORATIC AND MAKES VEHICLE UNSAFE AND UNRELIABLE. IT HAS 60,000 MILES ON IT NOW. ONGOING PROBLEM TO THIS DAY AND I'M TRYING TO DETERMINE IF THE LACK OF ACCELERATION IS THE PUMP OR ANOTHER PROBLEM. PEDAL NOT STICKING LIKE IT WAS A THROTTLE LINKAGE. REAR WINDSHIELD PUMP DOES NOT WORK. CHEVY RIM CAPS KEEP BREAKING AND COMING OFF. $30 DOLLARS APPRX. FOR EACH ONE AND HAVE HAD TO REPLACE ALL FOUR AT LEAST ONCE.
WE PURCHASED OUR BLAZER NEW. AT 23,000 MILES WE HEARD A CLUNK NOISE IN THE TRANSMISSION WHEN WE PUT IT IN REVERSE, BUT THE VEHICLE APPEARED TO BE FINE. SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY I TOOK THE BLAZER TO THE DEALERSHIP AND HAD THEM LOOK TO ENSURE THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS. THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING AND SAID IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY, IF SOMETHING WERE TO CRACKED AND BREAK IT WOULD STILL BE COVERED. THE TRANSMISSION BROKE AT 55000 MILES, 2ND, 4TH & REVERSE DIDN'T WORK. THE DEALERSHIP WASN'T INTERESTED IN FIXING IT UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE IT WAS BEYOND THE 3/36 WARRANTY COVERAGE. I SPOKE WITH SEVERAL LOCAL INDEPENDENT GARAGES GETTING ESTIMATES AND EVERYONE SAID CHEVROLET HAS HAD ALL KINDS OF PROBLEMS DUE TO A BROKEN INTERNAL GEAR. I PAID $2,000 TO GET IT FIXED. SINCE DOING SO I'VE TALKED TO COUNTLESS BLAZER OWNERS AND THE MAJORITY HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. ONE OTHER PROBLEM WE RECENTLY EXPERIENCED WAS THE FRONT RIGHT WHEEL BEARING GOING BAD. MY INVESTIAGTIONS HAVE CONCLUDED THAT IS ANOTHER KNOWN DEFECT GM HAS AND ARE UNWILLING TO FIX. IS THERE SOMEONE AT GM WHO IS WILLING TO ASSIST IN COMPENSATION FOR MY COSTLY TRANSMISSION FIX? EVERYONE I'VE CONTACTED ARE NOT INTERESTED IN HELPING THE CONSUMER WITH A PROBLEM THAT HAPPENS WITHOUT WARNING AND LEFT MY WIFE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. WORKING IN THE AUTOMITIVE INDUSTRY AND A SUPPLIER TO BOTH GM AND FORD, I UNDERSTAND THE LIABILITY AUTOMAKERS HAVE IN ADDRESSING KNOWN PROBLEMS, ESPECIALLY PROBLEMS LIKE THIS THAT COULD HAPPEN WITHOUT WARNING AND RESULT IN DEATH. I ENCOURAGE ASSISTANCE ON THIS MATTER FROM GM OR NHTSA. *AK
WHILE DRIVING CONSUMER HEARD A LOUD SOUND. HE LOOKED AROUND AND THERE WAS NOTHING THERE. LATER,CONSUMER ARRIVED TO HIS DESTINATION AND TRIED TO PARK, BUT DID NOT HAVE REVERSE. HE WENT FORWARD AND HAD A HARD TIME GETTING INTO GEAR. CONSUMER DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, AND IT WAS BEING CHECKED FOR DEFECTS. *AK
I HAVE BAD SEAT ACCESSORIES, IF I HADN'T UNPLUGGED THE CIRCUIT UNDER THE SEAT,THE SEAT WOULD MOVE ME BACK AND FORTH WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I SEE THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ON THIS SUBJECT. ALSO THE FUEL GAUGE PROBLEM IS VERY INCONVENIENT TO SAY THE LEAST. *NM
VEHICLE CUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. IT WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO A FAULTY ELECTRICAL WIRING COMING FROM THE FUEL SENDING UNIT, LOCATED INSIDE THE FUEL TANK. CONSUMER MADE THE NECESSARY REPAIRS. ALSO, CONSUMER HAD A CONCERN THAT THE FAULTY WIRING SHORT COULD HAVE IGNITED INSIDE THE FUEL TANK AND CAUSED AN EXPLOSION. *AK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 CHEVROLET BLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEATER AND AIR CONDITIONER FAILED TO FUNCTION. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE WAS ACTIVATED, BUT FAILED TO ENGAGE AND THE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE DISPLAYED AN INCORRECT READING. THE ABS WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSFER CASE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
THE TURN SIGNAL IN THE VEHICLE BEGAN CLICKING EVEN WHEN THE SWITCH WAS IN THE NEUTRAL (OFF) POSITION SEVERAL MONTHS AGO, HOWEVER, THE TURN SIGNALS APPEARED TO WORK PROPERLY. A COUPLE WEEKS AGO, WHILE SITTING AT A LEFT TURN LIGHT WITH THE TURN SIGNAL ON, A WHITE STREAM OF SMOKE BEGAN COMING OUT OF THE STEERING COLUMN IN THE VICINITY OF THE TURN SIGNAL LEVEL. I TURNED OFF THE LEVEL, AND THE SMOKE STOPPED. NO CORRECTIVE ACTION HAS BEEN TAKEN YET, BUT I AM AFRAID A FIRE MAY START IN THE VEHICLE FROM THIS. IT APPEARS THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN (# 01073) RELATED TO NHTSA ITEM # 636517 THAT MAY BE RELATED OR THE SAME, BUT THE DEALER SAYS NO RECALL IS OPEN AND WILL ONLY CHARGE TO REPLACE THE PART(S). THIS SEEMS LIKE A SAFETY/FIRE RELATED ISSUE AND I HAVE READ NUMEROUS CASES ONLINE WHERE OTHER OWNERS EXPERIENCE THE CONSTANT CLICKING NOISE FROM THE TURN SIGNAL TOO.*AK
BLINKER SOUND CONTIUNES WHEN BLINKERS ARE NOT REALLY ON, IT'S ANNOYING AND AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM, BUT COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. MANY CAR REPAIR SHOPS HAVE HEARD OF THIS SAME PROBLEM ON THE SAME VEHICLE. *AK
FUEL GUAGE FLUCTUATES BETWEEN EMPTY AND FULL ANYTIME FUEL TANK IS LESS THAN HALF FULL. I AM WORRIED ABOUT POSSIBLE VOLTAGE PROBLEMS IN THE TANK.*AK
2000 CHEVY BLAZER 4.3L V6 76K MILES 2 DOOR THE SENDING UNIT ON THE FUEL PUMP HAS GONE BAD AND IS CAUSING MY GAS GAUGE TO GIVE AN INCORRECT READING. I MUST NOW USE THE TRIP ODOMETER TO GUESS WHEN TO PUT GAS IN MY TRUCK. FROM RESEARCH I'VE DONE THIS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH BLAZERS OF THIS YEAR. GM SHOULD OFFER A RECALL FOR THIS $600+ JOB ALSO REPLACED THE UPPER & LOWER BALL JOINTS, IDLER ARM AND BOTH WHEEL BEARINGS IN THE PAST MONTH. SEAT RECLINE LEVER ON PASSENGER SIDE HAS ALSO SNAPPED OFF AND REAR WASHER FLUID SPRAYER NO LONG WORKS. I'VE OWNED 4 OTHER CHEVY/GMC VEHICLES AND HAD TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP IN 3 OF THEM. I WILL VERY MUCH CONSIDER THESE ISSUES AND HOW GM HANDLES THIS MOST RECENT ONE WHEN I GO TO BUY A NEW TRUCK NEXT YEAR. *AK
TRANSMISSION PUMP FAILURE 69,800 MILES COST AT AMMCO TRANSMISSION $1639.00. LEAK OUT OF SIDE OF TRANSMISSION COULD HAVE CUASED FIRE IF I DID NOT SEE LEAK.GAS GAUGE ALSO DOES NOT REGISTER CORRECTLY.I NEVER NOW WHEN I AM OUT OF GAS.KNOCK IN PASSENGER SIDE FIREWALL A PROBLEM.SEAT LEVER BROKEN FOR SECOND TIME.THE OLY GOOD THING ABOUT THIS CAR IS I HAVE 70,000 MILES ON THE BRAKE PADS.BUT TOMARROW I MAY NEED A MASTER CYLINDER THE WAYS THINGS ARE GOING.BACK REAR WINDOW RELEASE LEVER FAILURE COST ME $300.00 TO FIX. I REALLY FEEL THAT CHEVY SHOULD HAVE NOT BUILT THIS VEHICLE AT ALL. THEY KNEW THE PROBLEMS AND CONTINUED NOT TO FIX THESE PROBLEMS.I FEEL THE SHOULD HAVE FIXED THE GAS GAUGE PROBLEM AND HELPED WITH THE COST OF THE TRANSMISSION REPAIR.THIS IS MY LAST GM VEHICLE SO I GUEST IT DOESN'T MATTER. I LOOKED AT A CHEVY EQUINOX AND WAS CONCIDERING IT. BUT UNLESS THEY GIVE ME A 100,000 MILE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY I WILL BUY A TOYOTA OR NISSAN. AT LEAST THEY KNOW HOW TO BUILD GOOD TRANSMISSIONS!!!!*AK
WHILE DRIVING CONSUMER NOTICED THAT ENGINE INDICATOR LIGHT ILLUMINATED, FOLLOWED BY THE VEHICLE JERKING AND ENGINE SLIPPING. TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN REPAIRED THREE TIMES, BUT PROBLEM RECURRED. *AK *NM
FUEL LEVEL INDICATOR: SENDING UNIT FREQUENTLY FAILS CAUSING INDICATOR NEEDLE TO CONSTANTLY SWING ACROSS FACE FROM 'E' TO 'F'. CHEVY DEALER SAYS THIS IS HAPPENING MANY TIMES IN BLASER/S10 VEHICLES. CHEVY DEALER SAYS IT'S A BAD SENDING UNIT THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND WILL FAIL AGAIN IN A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME. CHEVY DEALER SAYS THAT THE MANUFACTURER IS WELL AWARE OF THIS DEFECTIVE PART PROBLEM THAT FAILS WHEN USED.
WHILE DRIVING AT 30 MPH, SUDDENLY THERE WAS A GRINDING NOISE. THE CONSUMER PULLED OFF THE ROAD TO INSPECT THE CAUSE OF THE NOISE. THE NOTICED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER TIRE WAS TILTED. THIS OCCURRED BECAUSE THE FRONT UPPER BALL JOINT BROKE AND DAMAGED THE ENTIRE FRONT END. *JB
HAD NEW TIRES PUT ON BECAUSE OF UNEVEN WEAR. WAS TOLD THE CAUSE OF THE WEAR WAS NOT DUE TO MISALIGNMENT OF TIRES BUT BECAUSE OF WORN BALL JOINTS. TIRE DEALER COULD NOT ALIGN TIRES. DID RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET AND TWO ITEMS THAT SEEM TO COME UP WITH THE 2000 CHEVY BLAZER ARE THE BAD CONTOL ARMS/BALL JOINTS AND BAD 4 WHEEL DRIVE COMPUTER MODULE. BLAZER HAS 42000 MILES ON IT AND IS DRIVEN ON GOOD ROADS.*AK
I OWN A 2000 CHEVY BLAZER. IN THE PAST 3 MONTHS I HAVE NOTICED HARD SHIFTING BETWEEN 1ST AND 2ND GEAR AFTER LONG TRIPS ON THE INTERSTATE(HAPPENED 3 TIMES). THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT CAME ON AND I TOOK IT TO BILL HEARD CHEVROLET. CODE ERROR 1870 WAS RECORDED. IT WAS A VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY MALFUNCTION THAT CAUSED MY TRANSMISSION TO HAVE TO BE REPLACED AFTER ONLY 67,000 MILES.
THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE SERVICE LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE WHILE DRIVING. WHEN THIS OCCURRED IT PREVENT THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE FROM BEING ENGAGE. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT PART WAS NOT COVERED UNDER A RECALL. *NM *NM
FUEL GAUGE FAILS TO FUNCTION PROPERLY. TRUCK HAS NO GAS, YET GAUGE SHOWS OVER A QUARTER TANK. SOMETIMES GAUGE FLUCTUATES FROM FULL TO EMPTY RANDOMLY WITHOUT REASON AFTER BELOW HALF A TANK. HAVE RUN OUT OF GAS SEVERAL TIMES ON HIGHWAY. THIS SEEMS TO BE A SERIOUS ISSUE AND COSTLY REPAIR. I KNOW PLENTY OF OTHERS WITH SAME PROBLEM AS WELL AS SEEING NUMEROUS POSTINGS. *LA
THE GAS GUAGE ON MY VEHICLE HAS RECENTLY STARTED BOUNCING AROUND ON MY VEHICLE SO MOST OF THE TIME I HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH GAS I HAVE. TWO DAYS AGO I RAN OUT OF GAS ON A MAIN HIGHWAY AND HAD TO TAKE MY LIFE INTO MY HANDS TO GO GET MORE. I'M NOT HAPPY, I HAVEN'T HAD VEHICLE VERY LONG!!! I'VE BEEN TOLD IT'S THE SENDING UNIT RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS AND NOW I'LL HAVE TO PAY IN EXCESS OF 600.00.
WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH CONSUMER SMELLED SMOKE COMING FROM THE VENTS. CONSUMER PULLED OVER, AND TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF. CONSUMER LIFTED UP THE HOOD, AND THE HOOD RELEASE LEVER DID NOT OPEN. CONSUMER CALLED FOR ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE. CONSUMER HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. *AK
I AM COMPLAINING ABOUT THE FRONT WHEEL BEARING ON A 2000 BLAZER WITH ONLY 36,754 MILES ON IT. THESE ARE SEALED BEARINGS AND NO WAY TO SERVICE THEM, THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO LAST THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE VIBRATES AND MAKES NOISE AND IS RUINING MY TIRES AND COULD MAKE THE VEHICLE WHEEL FALL OFF. I GOT THE VEHICLE USED BUT HAVE ONLY PUT 10,000 MILES ON IT IN 2 YEARS AND I HAVE THE VEHICLE SERVICED EVERY 3,000 MILES AND HAVE ALL THE RECORDS. I FEEL THAT THERE MUST BE A PROBLEM WITH THE BEARINGS FOR THEM TO GO IN 36,000 MILES IF THAT IS CONSIDERED THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE MAYBE I SHOULD START BUYING FORDS. *JB

FRONTAL SEAT ADJUSTER LEVER BROKE COMPLETE OFF WITHOUT EXCESSIVE FORCE BEING APPLIED. THIS MADE DRIVING DIFFICULT AND UNSAFE IN THE CURRENT POSITION THE SEAT WAS IN. ALSO, BOTH FRONT DOORS WERE LEAKING AND WERE HARD TO OPEN OR CLOSE EVEN WHEN THE AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCK WAS ENGAGED. DEALERSHIP INDICATED THAT THE DOOR'S BUSHING AND PINS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK
I BOUGHT A 2000 BLAZER IN 2002. I TOOK MY VEHICLE OVERSEAS IN 2003. MUCH TO MY SURPRISE, THE GAS GAUGE STOPPED WORKING PROPERLY ONE DAY IN 2004 CAUSING ME TO RUN OUT OF GAS ON A MAJOR INTERNATIONAL INTERSTATE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHEN I CAME BACK TO THE STATES ONLY TO BE TOLD, THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THE FUEL PUMP. NOT ONLY THAT, THE MODULE ALSO HAS TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THE FUEL PUMP AND MODULE COMES AS A UNIT AND YOU CANNOT REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP WITHOUT REPLACING THE MODULE. I AM BEING TOLD I HAVE TO PAY $950 TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM FIXED. I KNOW I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH A BLAZER WHO IS HAVING THIS PROBLEM. GM HAS FAILED TIME AND TIME AGAIN TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS AS A MANUFACTURER PROBLEM AND PEOPLE ARE LOSING MONEY BECAUSE OF IT. IF I HAVE TO PAY $950 OUT OF MY POCKET TO FIX THIS PROBLEM, THIS WILL BE ONE UNHAPPY, LOYAL CUSTOMER GM HAS LOST BECAUSE I WILL MAKE SURE THAT NO ONE I KNOW EVER PURCHASES A GM VEHICLE AGAIN. *TR

FUEL GUAGE FAILURE ON 2000 BLAZER. TEENAGE SON STRANDED ON MIDDLE FREEWAY LANE DURING HEAVY TRAFFIC. GUAGE SHOWED FUEL. TANK EMPTY. ESTIMATED REPAIRS= $600.00. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO FRIENDS WITH SAME YEAR CHEVROLETS. INTERNET FULL OF COMPLAINTS. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE, AND A VERY COSTLY REPAIR THAT MANY CANNOT AFFORD. PLEASE, PLEASE HELP. I HAD TO REPLACE BOTH FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS IN MY 2000 CHEVROLET BLAZER WITHIN A TWO WEEK PERIOD. THE VEHICLE HAS ONLY 60,000 MILES ON IT (VIN [XXX]). EACH REPLACEMENT COST WAS $238.00, INCLUDING LABOR. THE BEARINGS SHOULDN'T HAVE NEEDED REPLACED WITH ONLY 60,000 MILES ON IT. 2002 CHEVROLET BLAZER 4X4. FAILURE OF FUEL PUMP AND FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT - RESULTING IN CAR STALLING AT HIGH AND LOW SPEEDS CAUSING HAZARD IN TRAFFIC. PARTS REPLACED BY DEALERSHIP, TOTAL COST OVER $1,000. *AK
OIL COOLER LINES WERE RUBBING ON WIRING HARNESS IN LEFT FRONT WHEEL WELL. THE RUBBING CAUSED A HOLE IN THE OIL LINES RESULTING IN LOSS OF OIL PRESSURE AND OIL. AFTER GETTING THIS FIXED I WAS TOLD THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL. AFTER INSPECTING THE REPAIRS I NOTICED A NEW ASSEMBLY SEPERATING THE LINES WHICH WILL CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I AM EXTREMLEY DISSATISFIED THAT I HAD TO COVER THE REPAIRS, I PERSONALLY FEEL THAT THIS IS A SAFETY DEFECT. IF IT WOULD HAVE BLOWN OUT AT HIGHWAY SPEED IT WOULD HAVE COVERED THE DRIVER SIDE TIRES WITH OIL AND MAKE THE VEHICLE UNCONTOLLABLE. *AK

WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING AND COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CAUSE HAS NOT BEEN DETERMINED. DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT WILL NOT STAY LATCHED WHILE DRIVING. THE LIGHT FOR SEAT BELT APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD AND REMAINED ON. CONSUMER DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC INFORMED THE DRIVER THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE DUE TO A BACK ORDER. *AK
UPON APPROACHING THE DRIVEWAY VEHICLE SUDDENLY MADE A NOISE. STEERING WHEEL FELT FUNNY. ALSO, FRONT LEFT TIRE TURNED IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION THAT VEHICLE WAS GOING. WHEN THIS OCCURRED VEHICLE SKIDDED. CONSUMER DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP. THIS OCCURRED BECAUSE THE LEFT FRONT LOWER BALL JOINT CAME APART, AND THE FRONT RIGHT BALL JOINTS WERE STARTING TO SHOW SIGNS OF THE SAME FAILURE. THE ENTIRE FRONT SUSPENSION ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ALSO, AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SLIPPED WHEN SHIFTING FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR. MEANWHILE, WHILE DRIVING IN OVER DRIVE MODE, THE OVER DRIVE DISENGAGED AND VEHICLE SPEED WAS REDUCED FROM A RAPID PACE TO A VERY LOW SPEED. THIS FAILURE ALMOST RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT. DEALERSHIP DETERMINED THIS WAS CAUSED BY A FAILURE IN THE TORQUE CONVERTER SOLENOID.*AK
THE FUEL GAUGE NEEDLE DIDN'T REGISTER THE AMOUNT OF GAS IN THE TANK. IT WOULD MOVE BACK AND FORTH ERRATICALLY, DROPPING DOWN TO E WITH A "FUEL LOW" WARNING AND THEN IMMEDIATELY GOING BACK UP TO F. MY MECHANIC HAD TO PUT IN A NEW FUEL SENDER AND PUMP AT A COST OF $670.00. *NM

I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP & THEY TELL ME THAT I NEED BALL JOINTS AND OTHER SUSPENSION PARTS DUE TO THE BALL JOINTS BEING BAD ON MY VEHICLE. I CALL AROUND TO OTHER REPAIR SHOPS & THEY SAY THAT IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH BLAZERS COSTING THE CONSUMER HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS IN REPAIRS. SO, WHAT IS CHEVY GOING TO DO ABOUT IT ? HAVE PUT 3 BATTERIES IN CAR THAT'S 3 1/2 YEARS OLD. HAVE REPLACED PASSENGER HUB ASSEMBLY. HAVE REPLACED LEAKING OIL LINES. CONSTANT CARBON BUILD-UP ON THROTTLE. CAR SOMETIMES "DIES" WITH NO REASON. BATTERY LIGHT COMES ON, BUT NORMALLY CRANKS AGAIN. DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THEY ARE CLUELESS. ALL THIS HAS OCCURED IN 3 1/2 YEARS AND I BOUGHT THE CAR NEW.*AK
THE FUEL SENDING UNIT IS OPERATING ERRATICALLY, CAUSING THE GAS GAUGE TO BE INACCURATE. THE COST OF REPAIR IS $400.00 FOR A NEW SENDING UNIT/FUEL PUMP AND $200 FOR LABOR! I HAVE HEARD FROM OTHER GM OWNERS THAT THIS IS BECOMING A COMMON PROBLEM. GM WILL NEVER GET MY MONEY FOR A NEW CAR AGAIN IF THEY DON'T OWN UP TO THIS PROBLEM. *AK

TRIVER IS CONSTANTLY PUTTING OIL IN VEHICLE. DRIVER NOTICED A PUDDLE OF OIL UNDER THE CAR. TOOK VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC, AND HE DETERMINED OIL LINES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK
WHILE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND CONSUMER WAS TAKING THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH STEERING WHEEL CAUGHT ON FIRE, INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT HAZARD WARNING SWITCH MELTED, AND CAUSED THE FIRE. ALSO, TURN SIGNAL AND BRAKE LIGHTS WERE INOPERATIVE. *AK

I HAVE EXPERIENCED FAILURE OF BOTH FRONT HUBS, I CAN UNDERSTAND ONE BUT AMAZING THAT IT WOULD HAPPEN TO BOTH. THE FIRESTONE WHERE I GO TO DID NOT DETECT A PROBLEM A MONTH BEFORE AND CONSIDERED IT STRANGE THAT BOTH WENT OUT AT THE SAME TIME. *JB

FUEL INJECTORS ON CHEVROLET BLAZERS ~ ORIGINAL PROBLEM WAS THE MODULATOR WHICH I HAD REPLACED THEN 6 FUEL INJECTOR HAD TO BE REPLACED. I WAS TOLD BY NUMEROUS DEALERSHIPS THAT THE INJECTORS ARE FAULTY BUT TO DATE NO "RECALL". ANY ASSISTANCE YOU CAN PROVIDE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.*AK
2000 BLAZER ANTI-LOCK BRAKES DO NOT STOP THE VEHICLE. TWO YEARS AGO THIS CAUSED AN ACCIDENT WHEN I HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME AT A STOP SIGN. THE VEHICLE HAD DONE THIS QUITE A FEW TIMES BEFORE THIS, BOTH IN WET AND DRY WEATHER. I HAD THE VEHICLE LOOKED AT BY TWO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS AND THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG. I CURRENTLY KEEP THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES UNPLUGGED AS THEY ARE NOT SAFE. YOU THINK YOU ARE STOPPING AND THEN THE CAR LUNGES FORWARD AS THE BRAKE ACTS UP. THE ACCIDENT CAUSED ME TO GET A TICKET AND HAVE HIGHER INSURANCE PREMIUMS. *JB
