THE OIL COOLER LINES ARE LEAKING ON MY 2000 BLAZER( WITH ONLY 54,248 MILES). THE MECHANIC WHO CHANGED THE OIL TODAY STATED THAT HE HAS YET TO SERVICE A BLAZER THAT DIDN'T HAVE LEAKING LINES EVENTUALLY. INTERESTING! HE ALSO STATED THAT HE DIDN'T UNDERSTAND WHY THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL. IF THIS IS NOT THE PROPER PLACE TO REPORT THIS, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. PERHAPS YOU CAN ALSO DIRECT ME TO THE CORRECT PLACE. DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT WHEEL BEARING FAILURE; CARBON BUILD-UP IN THROTTLE BODY CAUSED ACCELERATOR TO STICK; OIL LINES TO REMOTE OIL FILTER LEAKING; VEHICLE HAS 41,000 MI. *AK
THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT ASSEMBLY RECLINER BROKE WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO USE IT FOR THE FIRST TIME. THIS IS AN OBVIOUS SAFETY DEFECT BY READING ALL THE COMPLAINTS FILED ON THIS VERY ISSUE. WHY NO RECALL?*AK
THE SEAT BACK ADJUSTMENT LEVERS BROKE ON BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATS. THE METAL SHAFT IS DEFECTIVE. THE CHEVEROLET DEALER QUOTED $300 PER SEAT. THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN ISSUED #060601 FOR THIS PROBLEM AND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS TO THE NHTSA WEB SITE. CHEVEROLET WILL NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM BECAUSE IT HAS NOT BEEN IDENTIFIED AS A SAFETY ISSUE. IF THE DRIVERS SEAT GETS BROKEN IN THE FULL RECLINE POSITION, THIS WOULD BE A SAFETY HAZARD FOR THE DRIVER.
2000 CHEVY BLAZER...STEERING IS DANGEROUS...TO MUCH PLAY IN STEERING...THIS HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE CASE AFTER WARRANTY WENT OUT. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE ENOUGH IN THE VEHICLE TO DRIVE IT ON THE HIGHWAY NOR DO I TAKE VACATIONS IN IT. I HAVE LIMITED USE WITH THE VEHICLE DUE TO THIS CONCERN. *TR
OIL LEAKS WHERE OIL LINES CONNECT TO THE REMOTE OIL FILTER. MECHANIC INDICATED THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM IN CHEVY SUV/TRUCKS WITH REMOTE OIL FILTER SYSTEMS. *LA
SENDING UNIT/FUEL PUMP BROKE SO MY GAS GAUGE DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY. GAS GAUGE WORKS FROM FULL TO HALF A TANK OF FUEL. FROM HALF TO EMPTY THE GAUGE DOESN'T MOVE. I JUST WANT TO SEE IF OTHERS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. RUNNING OUT OF GAS COULD BE DANGEROUS. *JB
ON FIVE SEPARATE OCCASIONS THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *JB THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN WITHOUT ANY WARNING AT ANY SPEED AND WHILE IDLING IN PARK, THE ENGINE RESTARTED. THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE GAS FILTER, IGNITION WIRING, AND THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED BUT THE VEHICLE WAS STILL EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. *SC *JB
I PURCHASED MY CHEVROLET BLAZER NEW AT THE END OF 1999 AND IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP SO MUCH I KNOW ALL 15 OF THE MECHANICS BY THERE FIRST NAME. THE BATTERY HAS BEEN REPLACED AT LEAST 3 TIMES, THE ALTERNATOR HAS BEEN CHANGED 3 TIMES, THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN REPLACES, THE SEAT HANDLES HAVE BEEN REPLACED MORE THAN ONCE, THE SEAT BELTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED FROM LOCKING UP, THE FRONT END HAS HAD WORK DONE TO IT AND STILL IS NOT FIXED, THE REAR RIGHT SPEAKER DOES NOT WORK, THE FUEL GAUGE HAS BEEN REPLACED, THE GAS PETAL STICKS I HAFT TO CLEAN THE CARD AT LEAST EVERY MONTH, THE HEATER CORE HAS BEEN REPLACED 3 TIMES AND IT STILL DOES NOT GET HOT. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS CAUSED BY THE ORANGE ANTIFREEZE AND WAS TOLD THAT CHEY WOULD NOT WARRANTY THEIR 5 YEAR ANTIFREEZE AND THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED A $500.00 ENGINE FLUSH THAT I COULD DO MY SHELF FOR $10.00 BUT I WAS THEN TOLD THAT THE ENGINE WAS CORRODED UP INSIDE AND I WOULD NEED A NEW MOTOR AND THEY WOULD NOT PAY FOR IT EVEN UNDER WARRANTY. I CALLED GM COMPLAINT LINE AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY NEW OF THE PROBLEM AND THEY COULD NOT OFFER ME ANY HELP. THE COMPLAINT LINE WAS A JOKE AND A WASTE OF MY TIME. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CHEVY THIS IS MY SECOND VEHICLE. MY FIRST WAS A S10 AND I HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS. *AK
THE LEVER ON THE FRONT DRIVERS AND PASSENGER SEATS THAT RECLINES THE SEATS BACK. THEY SNAP RIGHT OFF. THEY HAVE REPLACED ONE AT COST NOW BOTH ARE BROKE. THE BAD THING IS IT HAPPENED TO ME OUT OF TOWN AND I HAD TO FIND SOME PILLOWS TO PROP ME UP ENOUGH TO DRIVE. NOW I HAVE TO USE PLIERS. BUT THIS CAN HAPPEN IF YOU TRY TO RECLINE A LITTLE BACK WHILE DRIVING AND MAY GO ALL THE WAY BACK AND YOU CAN'T GET IT BACK UP.*AK
I HAVE A 2000 CHEVY BLAZER WITH 44,000 MILES. SINCE THE WARRANTY EXPIRED IN JULY I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS PROBLEMS THAT SEEM TO BE COMMON AMONG OWNS OF THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE. GM REFUSES TO ADDRESS THESE ITEMS SINCE THE CAR IS JUST OUT OF WARRANTY. SOME I CONSIDER TO BE SAFETY ISSUES. THEY ARE AS FOLLOWS: ACCELERATOR PEDAL STICKS, SEAT RECLINER HANDLE IS BROKEN, FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY AND 4 WHEEL DRIVE WILL NOT ENGAGE. FOR A VEHICLE THAT IS JUST OVER 3.5 YEARS OLD THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I WILL PROBABLY NOT PURCHASE ANOTHER GM VEHICLE DUE TO THESE PROBLEMS AND WILL PROBABLY PURCHASE A EUROPEAN AUTO, THEIR ENGINEERING AND CUSTOMER SERVICE ARE FAR SUPERIOR TO OUR US AUTOMAKERS. *AK
2000 CHEVROLET BLAZER LOWER BALL JOINTS THE VEHICLE HAS ONLY 36,211 MILES AND THE JOINTS ARE WORN OUT. HAS THERE BEEN ANY RECALLS ON THIS PROBLEM. I TALKED TO OTHER OWNERS AND THEY ALSO HAD OR HAVE THIS PROBLEM.*AK
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FAILURE MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR VEHICLE TO GO INTO THE REVERSE GEAR. ALSO, CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO BUCKLE THE REAR SEAT BELT BECAUSE THE PLATE GOT STUCK IN THE HOLSTER, AND THE HOLSTER WAS STUCK IN THE SEAT. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED OF BOTH FAILURES, BUT WAS UNABLE TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEMS. *AK

I BOUGHT THIS BLAZER 5 MONTHS AGO AND IT ONLY HAS 77,000 MILES ON IT. I TOOK MY INLAWS TO THE AIRPORT ON SATURDAY MORNING, 11/29/03, AND THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT, NO REVERSE, ONLY 1ST AND 2ND GEAR WORKS. I AM TOLD BY 3 DIFFERENT TRANSMISSION SHOPS THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS TRANSMISSION. THIS IS NOT RIGHT, WHY WASN'T THIS BEEN RECALLED? *NLM
FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT READ ACCURATELY. WHEN I FILL THE TANK THE GAUGE GOES TO FULL. IT SEEM TO READ ACCURATELY UNTIL GETTING TO HALF TANK. AT THAT TIME IT REMAINS RIGHT AT HALF FULL NO MATTER HOW MUCH FURTHER I DRIVE. I HAVE NOTICED SEVERAL OTHER IDENTICAL COMPLAINTS WITH THE SAME VEHICLE. RUNNING OUT OF GAS IS A VERY UNSAFE POSSIBILITY! THE REPAIR FOR THE SENDING UNIT WAS QUOTED TO ME $750 WHICH IS OUTRAGEOUS FOR SOMETHING THAT IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. *LA
FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS: APPARENT DEFECTIVE PARTS THAT FAIL FREQUENTLY AND HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE CHEVY DEALER SAYS THEY KEEP PLENTY OF THEM IN PARTS STORE SINCE THEY'RE ALWAYS REPLACING THEM. DEALER SAYS MANUFACTURER IS WELL AWARE OF THE PARTS PROBLEM BUT REFUSES TO EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE IT OR REPLY TO QUESTIONS FROM DEALER.
OUR TIRES, UNIROYAL NAIL GARD TIGER PAW P235/70R15, WERE VERY NEW, THEY HAD EXCELLENT TREAD LEFT. I NOTICED A "WOBBLE" DEVELOPING AND W/IN A FEW DAYS THE TIRE EXPLODED. THE BACK LEFT TIRE TREAD SEPERATED. OUR FUEL LINE WAS TORN OUT, THE INNER WALL OF OUR WHEEL WELL WAS BROKEN UP AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. WE WERE W/OUT OUR VEHICLE FOR ALMOST 2 MONTHS. THE REPAIR SHOP INFORMED US THAT OUR TIRES HAD BEEN DISCONTINUED SO WE RECEIVED A DIFFERNT TYPE OF UNIROYAL TIRE. IT HAS BEEN 2 MONTHS SINCE THE CAR WAS RETURNED TO US. I HAVE NOTICED THE "WOBBLE" AGAIN. WE ARE GETTING NEW TIRES TOMORROW. OUR COMPLAINTS TO UNIROYAL WERE IGNORED. THEY GAVE NO REASON FOR THE DISCONTINUATION OF THE TIRES. I WONDER WHY IT IS OK TO LET PEOPLE CONTINUE DRIVING AROUND ON TIRES THAT COULD KILL THEM? WHY DOESN'T THIS GOVERNMENT WEBSITE DO ANYTHING ABOUT ALL THESE COMPLAINTS? MAYBE WHEN SOMEONE DIES THEY WILL. WON'T THAT BE A NICE LAW SUIT? *AK
REPLACEMENT OF BOTH FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS AT 60,000 MILES. LOTS OF ROAD NOISE AND "HUM" VIBRATION COMING FROM FRONT END FOR SEVERAL THOUSAND MILES, THEN IT GOT REAL BAD WHEN TURN STEERING WHEEL TO LEFT. SMALL TIME MECHANIC HAS REPLACED BEARINGS ON 12 BLAZERS OVER THE COURSE OF 6 MONTHS. ONE DEALER ACKNOWLEDGED THAT MANY BLAZERS HAVE BEEN IN TO REPLACE FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS ANYWHERE FROM 30-80000 MILE. MECHANIC THINKS IT'S CAUSED BY LACK OF ADEQUATE GROUNDING FOR THE ABS BRAKING SYSTEM. *LA

WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH THERE WAS A VIBRATION THROUGHOUT THE VEHICLE. DEALER INFORMED CONSUMER THAT VIBRATION WAS NORMAL. DEALER SHOWED CONSUMER DOCKET ID# 1381844, STATING THAT CHEVROLET WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, AND AN ATTEMPT TO REPAIR WAS UNNECESSARY.*AK
SEAT ADJUSTMENT HANDLE BROKE OFF DRIVER'S SEAT. THIS IS A VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR, AND HAVE FOUND OUT THAT THERE A ALOT OF THESE BREAKING. I THINK CHEVROLET SHOULD MAKE THIS INTO A RECALL SO THEIR CUSTOMERS DO NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR THEIR MISTAKES. NONE IS PERFECT, BUT AT LEAST THEY COULD MAKE THE EFFORT TO FIX THEM, AND NOT MAKE THE CUSTOMER DO SO.*AK

BOTH FRONT LEFT & RIGHT SIDE HUB BEARING ASSEMBLY FAILED RIGHT SIDE NOT AS BAD AS LEFT HAD BOTH SIDES REPLACED-THESE ARE CRITICAL PARTS AS THEY HOLD WHEEL ON AXLE-I AM SECOND OWNER OF CAR BOUGHT FROM DEALER - DEALER TOOK 20% OFF TOTAL BILL-DEFECT NOT DEALERS FAULT BUT CHEVROLET?S-CALLED CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE TOLD NOTHING THEY CAN OR WILL DO FOR ME AM STILL TRYING TO GET FULL REFUND FOR PARTS&LABOR FOR DEFECTIVE PARTS THAT SHOULD HAVE NOT FAILED AT THIS LOW MILAGE.

THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT WILL NOT LOCK INTO PLACE, CAUSING THE SEAT TO SLIDE FORWARD WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN OPERATION. THE PASSENGER SEAT LEVER ALSO BROKE OFF WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ADJUST THE RECLINE POSITION OF THE SEAT BACK. DEALER IS REPAIRING BOTH PROBLEMS WITH A COST OF OVER $600.00. *LA
2000 BLAZER STARTED SURGING. AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS OF SURGING, ONE DAY CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE ON HIGHWAY AND A FEW MINUTES LATER IT STALLED. IT RESTARTED BUT AFTER SEVERAL BLOCKS, IT STALLED AGAIN. THIS KEPT HAPPENING. CAR WAS TOWED BY AAA 67 MILES TO MY DEALER. DEALER COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG BUT THINKS IT IS PROBABLY THE FUEL PUMP. CAR IS STILL SURGING. AFTER 1.5 MONTHS CAR STALLED AGAIN WHILE IDLING IN A LINE OF CARS. IT RESTARTED AFTER SOME DIFFICULTY. I THEN TOOK IT TO ANOTHER CHEVROLET DEALER. AGAIN THEY COULDN'T FIND A PROBLEM. SAID THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING UNTIL SOMETHING SHOWED UP ON THE COMPUTER OR CAR COMPLETELY DIES AND WON'T RESTART. SO I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE CAR SINCE I DON'T KNOW WHEN IT MIGHT SHUT DOWN ON ME IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION. *LA
THE FUEL PUMP,LINE AND TANK ARE FAULTY AT 35000 MILES. I BOUGHT IT AS A USED CAR FROM SANTA ANA HYUNDAI WHO AGREED TO FIX THE FUEL PUMP BUT DID NOT. THE TRANSMISSION IS NOT CHANGING GEARS PROPERLY, IT WOULD NOT START WHEN I TURNED IT OFF TO GET GAS ON 9-26-03, THE LEFT FRONT END IS POPPING WITH A LOUD NOISE,THE BRAKES ARE NOT ANTILOCK BRAKES,IT FEELS AS IF I AM HITTING METAL WHEN I STOP HARD,THE PANEL LIGHTS WOULD FLICKER, LIGHTS ON DASH BOARD WHEN FLASH WHEN I HAD SEATBELT ON. I HAD A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP FIX THE MINOR THINGS. THE BATTERY CABLE WAS LOOSE AND THEY OILED THE JOINTS TO STOP THE SQUEAK. THE DEALER REFUSED TO FIX THE FUEL PUMP WHICH IS UNSAFE AND DEMAND I PAY HIM MONEY THAT IS ALREADY ABOVE THE PRICE OF THIS CAR. I AM PAYING $14,000 PLUS FOR A 2000 CHEVROLET BLAZER WITH A FAULTY FUEL PUMP.THE DOOR ENTRY WILL NOT PROPERLY TAKE IN THE KEY TO OPEN THE DOOR.THE GAUGE METERS WERE DANCING BACK AND FORTH AND NOT PROPERLY READING THE FUEL.IT WAS A RENTAL CAR BEFORE I BOUGHT IT SO I HAD NO REAL HISTORY OF RECALLS OR MECHANICAL REPORTS. *LA
SEAT HANDLES ARE BROKEN AGAIN. RESULTING A RECLINING DRIVER SEAT. SEAT HANDLES BROKE UNDER WARRANTY AND WAS REPLACED, SO THIS IS THE SECOND TIME ON MY BLAZER, 2000 MODEL. GM NEEDS TO REDESIGN THESE HANDLES BECAUSE SOMEONE COULD GET INTO A ACCIDENT. *JB
WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONSUMER MANAGED TO PULL OVER. HAD TAKEN VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP, BUT PROBLEM HAD NOT BEEN RESOLVED. *AK LAST SPRING THE VEHICLE'S IGNITION WOULD CUT OUT WHILE IN MOTION AND WOULD SOMETIME DROP OUT OF THE CRUISE CONTROL. THE VEHICLE STALLED IN REVERSE, THE ENGINE WIRING WAS REPLACED, THE CRUISE CONTROL WOULD SHUT OFF AT TIMES, THE IGNITION SWTCH SHORTED OUT. I HAVE A 2000 BLAZER LT 4WD WITH 44,000 MILES ON IT. I RECENTLY STARTED EXPERIENCING VIBRATIONS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. MY DEALER VERIFIED THE PROBLEM. ACCORDING TO A GM DOCUMENT, THERE IS NO FIX TO THIS PROBLEM. ACCORDING TO GM DOCUMENT ID# 1381844. THE DOCUMENT IS ENTITLED "VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS-SUSPENSION WHEEL #PI01273B - (09/15/2003). THE DOCUMENT EXPLAINS THE PROBLEM & SYMPTOMS EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED IN MANY OF THESE DISCUSSIONS. THERE IS A LINE IN THIS DOCUMENT THAT READS: THIS VIBRATION IS CONSIDERED A NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC FOR THESE VEHICLES AND NO REPAIR ATTEMPTS SHOULD BE MADE." THIS DOCUMENT COVERS 2 & 4WD DRIVE GM VEHICLES WITH THE SAME BODY TYPES (I.E. BLAZERS, JIMMY, BRAVADA, S-10, ENVOY) AND COVERS YEARS 00 - 03. THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE FOR USE ON THE HIGHWAY!! PURCHASED A 2000 CHEVY BLAZER FROM HARRY GREEN CHEV. IN BRIDGEPORT,WV.WE HAVE HAD A WATER LEAK COMING FROM THE DRIVERS DOOR. THE WIND AND WATER COMES IN AROUND THE DOOR. WE HAVE NOTIFIED THEM NUMBEROUS TIMES AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD CHECK TO SEE WHAT THEY COULD DO BUT HAVE DONE NOTHING. THE LAST TIME WE TALKED TO THEM THEY SAID WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE THE PROBLEM FIXED. THE PROBLEM WAS THERE SINCE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND THEY SHOULD STAND GOOD TO FIX THE PROBLEM. SOMEONE SHOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE FACT THAT THE TRANSMISSIONS ON THE 4X4 SUV HAS A PROBLEM. THE PRODUCTS USED ARE NOT VERY HEAT TOLERANT. I HAVE SPOKEN TO SEVERAL PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REBUILT OR REPLACED. ALSO IN LOOKING ON THE INTERNET I AM SEEING AN AWFUL LOT OF PEOPLE HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE HEATING AND AIR SYSTEM ON THE BLAZER.*AK
THE FRONT BUMPER OF MY 2000 CHEVROLET BLAZER WAS COMPLETELY CRUSHED WHEN I HIT A SIGN POLE IN A PARKING LOT. IT WAS IN MY BLIND SPOT (WHERE THE FRONT WINDSHIELD MEETS THE DRIVER-SIDE DOOR, THAT STRIP OF METAL) WHEN I PULLED SLIGHTLY FORWARD AND TO THE LEFT TO LEAVE THE LOT. I COULD NOT HAVE BEEN GOING VERY FAST, THIS POLE WAS WITHIN 4' OF MY CAR, YET THIS APPROX 4" DIAMETER METAL POLE COMPLETELY CRUSHED THE BUMPER. THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE FRAILTY IN SUCH AN IMPORTANT PART OF THE PROTECTION AFFORDED A CAR'S OCCUPANTS. I'D LIKE CHEVY TO REPLACE THE BUMPER. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE TO ME. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER CHEVY. IT'S BACK TO VOLVOS FOR THIS WOMAN. *AK
I JUST PURCHASED A CERTIFIED USED BLAZER IN JULY OF 2003. IT WAS IN FOR ITS SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE AND WHILE THERE THE TECHNICIAN SNAPPED OFF THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT ADJUSTMENT HANDLE, WHICH MY DEALER LATER REPLACED. NOT TWO WEEKS LATER THE PASSENGER SIDE HANDLE SNAPPED OFF AS WELL. MY DEALER WILL NOT REPLACE THE PASSENGER SIDE WITHOUT CHARGING ME FOR PARTS AND LABOR.I FEEL THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURED DEFECT. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS SUBJECT AND HAVE FOUND MANY OTHER UNHAPPY CONSUMERS LIKE MYSELF REGARDING THIS ISSUE. *AK
WHILE DRIVING, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. *AK THE CONSUMER WAS STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN ON A SIDE ROAD, WAITED FOR TRAFFIC TO CLEAR AND AS HE MADE THE LEFT TURN ONTO THE HIGHWAY, A POP SOUND WAS HEARD AND THE LOST POWER. THE VEHICLE MOVED FORWARD IN A JERKING MOTION. THEN THE CONSUMER CONTINUED TO DRIVE IN LOW GEAR SLOWLY AND COULD NOT GET OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY IN REVERSE. *SCC *JB
I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH MY 2000 CHEVY BLAZER LS 4X4. UNDER WARRANTY THE DEALER REPLACED THE OIL LINES BY THE OIL FILTER, WHOLE SEAT MECHANISM, DRIVER SIDE WINDOW MOTOR, REAR SHOCK. THEY ALSO FIXED MY HOOD RATTLE AFTER 5 VISITS TO THE DEALER AND I TOLD THEM WHAT WAS WRONG THE FIRST TIME IT WENT IN. SINCE THEN AT 40,000 MILES THE DRIVER SIDE WHEEL BEARING WENT OUT AND HAD IT REPLACED AND AT THE SAME TIME HAD THE FUEL PUMP REPLACED SINCE THAT WENT OUT ALSO. AT 50,000 MILES THE SAME ONE WENT OUT AGAIN AND HAD IT REPLACED. NOW AT 68,000 MILES THE PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL BEARING IS BAD. ALSO ON MY FIRST WHEEL BEARING REPLACEMENT, THEY TOLD ME THE BALL JOINTS WERE VERY LOOSE AND SHOULD THINK ABOUT REPLACING THOSE ALSO. THESE THINGS SHOULD NEVER BE GOING WRONG WITH SUCH LOW MILES. FROM WHAT I AM READING ON THE WEB AND HEARING FROM THE DEALERS, THIS IS A VERY FREQUENT PROBLEM THAT CHEVY WILL NOT RECALL AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. I SURE AM HAPPY THAT I HAVEN'T HAD A WHEEL FALL OFF AND KILL SOMEONE YET. *JB
DT: EVERY SINCE THE CONSUMER PURCHASED THE BLAZER IN 2003 THE LOWER BALL JOINTS HAD TO REPLACED FOUR TIMES. THE CONSUMER WAS THE ONLY OPERATOR OF THE VEHICLE AND SHE ONLY DROVE THE VEHICLE TO WORK. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 170,000. THE LOWER BALL JOINT HAS HAD TO BEEN REPLACED EVERY SIX MONTHS. *JB

MY 2000 CHEVY BLAZER (88K MI.) HAD BOTH THE ABS SYSTEM LIGHT AND EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT COME ON. I HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED STRANGE ABS ACTIVATION EVEN AT LOW SPEED AND LIGHT BRAKE APPLICATION. MY DEALER SAID THE ABS CONTROLLER IS FAULTY. I HAVE FOUND NUMEROUS DESCRIPTIONS OF THESE VERY SAME SYMTOMS FROM OTHER OWNERS AS WELL AS TSB REFERENCES TO THIS DEFECT. THIS LOOKS LIKE A TREND AND A DESIGN FLAW AND A SAFTEY ISSUE. THIS SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED AND THE ABS CONTROLLER SYSTEM SHOULD BE RECALLED.

TREAD SEPARATION ON TWO UNIROYAL LAREDO P235-70-15 ON A 2000 BLAZER TIRES, WITH-IN A 10 DAY PERIOD. APX. 10 DAYS AGO FRONT END WAS SHAKING, TOLD OF TIRE SEPARATION ON L/F. TREAD WAS SEPARATING FROM TIRE . BOUGHT 2 NEW TIRES. TODAY I HAD TIRE SEPARATION ON L/R AND AGAIN TREAD WAS PEALING FROM TIRE. CALLED UNIROYAL TODAY AND AFTER THREE PHONE CALLS OF GETTING THE RUNAROUND I WAS THEN ABLE TO HAVE ONE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY THE OTHER TIRE WAS DISPOSED OF BY TIRE SHOP. TIRES HAD ABOUT 60-65% TREAD LIFE LEFT ON THEM. PROBLEM WAS THAT THE TIRE SHOPS THEY SENT ME TOO SAID THEY ONLY SELL UNIROYAL TIRES AND DO NOT WARRANTY THEM. OTHER PROBLEM WAS BY ALLEGED REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVE IN MY OPINION HAD A "NO CARE" ATTITUDE. *AK
CAR DIED WHILE DRIVING, CONDITION OCCURRED 5 TIMES USUALLY WHEN ENGINE COOL. TECHNICIAN SAID THEY FOUND FUEL PUMP TO BE SHORTED OUT AND REPLACED IT.*AK
THE WHEEL BEARING HAD TO BE REPLACED LESS THAN A MONTH AFTER I HAD IT. THE DEALER DID NOT CHARGE ME FOR THAT. I HAD THE VEHICLE FOR ABOUT TWO AND A HALF MONTHS AND THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT. THE DEALER ONLY COVERED 30% OF THE COST WHICH WAS BETTER THAN NOTHING.

I HAVE DETECTED THIS SAME PROBLEM ON MY 2000 CHEVROLET BLAZER PURCHASED IN JANUARY 2000 AT A DEALERSHIP IN SEATTLE WASHINGTON. THE THROTTLE PEDAL STICKS ON TAKEOFF/STARTUP FROM A STOPPED POSITION (I.E. STOP LIGHT/SIGN). I HAVE TO EXERT EXTRA PRESSURE ON THE PEDAL TO GET THE VEHICLE MOVING. WHEN I EXERT THE EXTRA PRESSURE ON THE PEDAL, AFTER ABOUT 1 - 2 INCHES, IT BREAKS FREE AND LUNGES FROM THE STOP. IT ALSO SOMETIMES HAPPENS WHEN I TRY TO ACCELERATE ON THE FREEWAY, NOT FROM A STOPPED POSITION. MY WIFE HAS ALSO EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM. WE JUST GOT HOME FROM A TRIP THROUGH CALIFORNIA FROM 8 DAYS OF DRIVING AND HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM THE WHOLE TIME. I FIRST EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM ABOUT A MONTH AGO AND THOUGHT I MIGHT NEED TO USE WD-40 IN THE LINKAGE FROM THE PEDAL. THIS DID NOT HELP. I CONTACTED A LOCAL DEALER IN LAS VEGAS WHO SAID THEY HAVE NOT HAD THIS PROBLEM ON ANY OTHER VEHICLE. I CONSIDER THIS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IT IS NOT NORMAL TO HAVE THE PEDAL STICK LIKE THIS AND IT COULD CREATE AN ACCIDENT POTENTIAL IF IT WERE TO STICK AND THEN LUNGE AND THE NEED TO IMMEDIATELY APPLY THE BRAKES PRESENTED ITSELF. *NLM
REAR TAILGATE ON MY 2000 CHEVROLET BLAZER LS WOULD NOT OPEN AFTER CLOSING. THE REAR INSIDE TRIM PANEL HAD TO BE BROKEN BECAUSE OF A POOR DESIGN TO GET TO CHEAP PLASTIC ACTUATOR UNIT TO RELEASE THE REAR WINDOW AND TAILGATE. COSTLY REPAIR NOT UNDER WARRANTY. COULD POSE SAFETY PROBLEM IF IT WAS THE ONLY ESCAPE ROUTE IN CAR CRASH. I FEEL GM SHOULD AT LEAST COVER PARTS REPAIR SINCE THE ONLY WAY TO REPLACE THE PROBLEM IS TO BREAK A $145.00 + TRIM PANEL BECAUSE THE SCREWS FOR THAT PANEL ARE ON THE SIDE OF THE TAILGATE WHICH YOU CAN'T GET OPEN TO UNSCREW THEM. I THINK THIS IS PROBLEM WHICH GM REFUSES TO ADDRESS AND LIKE I SAID IS A COSTLY PROBLEM FOR THE CONSUMER. *NLM
