VEHICLE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT WHICH RESULTED IN A ROLLOVER AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. *MR *SCC *JB THE CONSUMER WANTED TO KNOW THE STATUS OF HER COMPLAINT. *JB
SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT STAYS ON AND IDLES ROUGH SOMETIMES WON'T START. FUEL GUAGE SWINGS BACK AND FORTH NOT REGISTERING THE GAS LEVEL.GOES FROM EMPTY TO FULL.

6/12/03, 2000 BLAZER 4X4 TRANSMISSION SUDDENLY LOST ABILITY TO OBTAIN ALL GEARS. AFTER PARKING, THE VEHICLE LOST ABILITY TO SHIFT INTO REVERSE AS WELL. NOISE TRANSMITTED FROM TRANSMISSION CONTAINED METALLIC MATERIAL GRINDING AND MOVING WITHIN. AT THE TIME, THE VEHICLE WAS STILL LESS THAN 3 YEARS OLD WITH THE MAJORITY OF ITS USE COMING FROM WORK TRANSPORTATION. THE CHEVY DEALER WOULD NOT QUOTE WITHOUT DISASSEMBLING THE TRANSMISSION, WHICH WOULD BE THE MAJORITY OF THE LABOR INVOLVED IN A FULL REPAIR. THEY STATED THAT THEY GENERALLY PREFER TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION, $3200. A LOCAL TRANSMISSION SHOP DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE WITHIN 10 MINUTES. THE OWNER HAS SEEN THIS ISSUE ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND LITERALLY DESCRIBED THE SYMPTOMS AS SOON AS I TOLD HIM I HAD A BLAZER WITH TRANSMISSION ISSUES. THE COMPLETE REBUILD, DUE TO A SUN-SHELL GEAR FAILURE, COST $2097.78. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE NON-ROBUST JOINING OF TWO CYLINDERS (NO FILLET) AS WELL AS THE THICKNESS AND MATERIAL USED ALLOWS THE PART TO FAIL QUITE FREQUENTLY. HE HAD COMPLETED MULTIPLE JOBS FOR THIS AT HIS SHOP ALONE. IN FACT, AN ACQUAINTANCE OF MINE, HAD THE IDENTICAL SITUATION HAPPEN WITH HIS BLAZER THE WEEK OF 10/26/03. AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT I HAD CALLED THE CHEVY CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE WITH NO HELP COMING FROM THEM. THIS HAS BEEN THE PINNACLE OF SEVERAL FAILURES ON THIS VEHICLE INCLUDING BOTH FRONT WHEEL BEARING ASSEMBLIES (38,000MI AND 55,000MI), A POWER SEAT THAT QUIT WORKING, A POWER WINDOW THAT QUIT WORKING, AND SEVERAL PAINT ISSUES. FUEL LEVEL SENSOR STOPPED FUNCTIONING JUST OUT OF WARRANTY. HAVE RUN OUT OF GAS SEVERAL TIMES SINCE. NOW FRONT WHEEL HUB BEARING IS MAKING A LOUD HUMMING NOISE.*AK
THE SEAT RECLINER ON THE DRIVERS SIDE BROKE. AFTER FIXING, THE SEAT THEN SQUEAKED AND RATTLED. DEALERSHIP SAAID I HAVE A BROKEN SEAT FRAME. DEALERSHIP WON'T PAY FOR DAMANGES. *AK THIS IS THE SECOND GENERAL MOTORS VEHICLE THAT HAS A BROKEN SEAT RECLINER. THE FIRST ONE WAS A 98 GMC JIMMY. SAME THING HAPPENED.
I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED IN THE PAINT JOB OF MY CHEV. BLAZER ZR2 (2000). THE PAINT HAS "EGG SHELLED" IN TWO SPOTS. THE FINISH ON THE ROOF RACK AND WINDOW TRIMS IS PEELING AND FADING. THE TIRE RACK IS RUSTED IN ALL THE JOINTS. THE PAINT DID NOT HOLD UP AND IS VERY DISTASTEFUL.*AK
WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR HINGE FELL OFF. PLEASE FILL ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. DEALER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM.*AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 CHEVROLET BLAZER. THE CONTACT TOOK HER VEHICLE TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE FRAME, CONTROL ARM, AND TORSION BAR HAD EXCESSIVE RUST. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE CLASSIFIED AS SAFE, SHE WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE FRAME AND MEMBERS AT HER EXPENSE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE EXCEEDED ITS WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 24,000. UPDATED 10/14/08 *BF THE ROTORS HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO RUST BUILD-UP. THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR PINS, BUSHINGS AND RETAINER HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO RUST. UPDATED 10/15/08. *JB
ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS THE BRAKE FLEX LINES FAILED. THE FIRST TIME THE RIGHT BRAKE FLEX LINED FAILED. THE SECOND TIME THE BRAKE FLEX LINES FAILED ON BOTH FRONT CALIPERS. THE CONSUMER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WERE NO PROBLEM OR DEFECTS REPORTED THEREFORE NO RECALL OR WARRANTY WAS ISSUED. *PH *NLM
THE RIGHT REAR AND BOTH FRONT BRAKE FLEX LINES FAILED ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE CONSUMER REPORTED THE PROBLEM TO THE CHEVROLET HEADQUARTERS AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO RECALL OR WARRANTY FOR THE FAILURE. *MR *CB *NLM
THE WHEEL BEARING BROKE AND AS A RESULT THE ABS DID NOT WORK PROPERLY. *NLM
FOR SEVERAL WEEKS, 4LO LIGHT ON DASH WOULD FLASH AS IF TRYING TO SHIFT INTO 4 WHEEL DRIVE, ON 5/19/03, IT WAS LOCKED INTO 4LO, HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO TRANSFER TO 2 WHEEL DRIVE, VERY LOUD GRINDING NOISE IN FRONT END WHEN TRYING TO TAKE OUT OF 4LO. *NLM
DRIVER SEAT RECLINING HANDLE BROCK OFF. *AK
TRANSMISSION FALURE, REVERSE SECOND AND THIRD GEAR, TRANSFER CASE FAILURE, CRUISE CONTROL DOESNT WORK, DASHBOARD CLUSTER FAILURE. *AK
WHILE TRAVELING AT SLOW SPEEDS, (LESS THAN 15 MPH) BRAKE PEDAL PULSES, AND GOES TOWARDS THE FLOOR. ABS THEN ACTIVATES, AND THE TRUCK DOES NOT STOP. THIS HAS HAPPENED 5-10 TIMES, TWICE CAUSING COLLISIONS WITH CURBS, AND PARKING BARRIERS. GARAGE THAT FIXED A BROKEN BRAKE LINE, CHECKED THE BRAKES, AND COULD FIND NO PROBLEMS. *JB

I WAS NOTIFIED BY ANOTHER DRIVER I HAD NO BRAKE LIGHTS, BROUGHT BACK TO DEALER AND INFORMED THAT IT WOULD COST $400 TO FIX. FOUND OUT THROUGH MY EMPLOYER THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM. WHY WAS IT NOT CORRECTED BEFORE I PURCHASED IT FROM THE CHEVY DEALER. ALSO INFORMED MY AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT WAS ON AND THE A MODULE WAS AT FAULT AND WOULD COST ANOTHER $550 TO FIX AND THAT IT MAY INFLATE AIRBAG WHILE DRIVING. THESE ARE TOTALLY UNREALISTIC PROBLEMS TO OCCUR IN A 2 YEAR OLD MODEL WITH LESS THEN 40,000 MI. *JB
WHILE DRIVING THE DOOR HINGE FELL OFF. *NLM
I HAVE A TAILGATE/HATCHBACK COMBINATION. THE LATCHING MECHANISM HAS SEPARATED FROM THE GLASS. THE GLASS COMPANY THAT THE DEALERSHIP SENT ME TO TOLD ME THIS WAS A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT AND THAT NEW GLASS WOULD HAVE TO BE ORDERED. I WENT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT COULD BE THAT, BUT ALSO OFFERED AN IMPLAUSABLE EXPLANATION FOR A SCENARIO WERE SEPARATION FROM THE GLASS MIGHT HAVE OCCURRED. THEY REFUSE TO RECTIFY THE SITUATION OR EVEN INVESTIGATE IT. THE ALTERNATE SCENARIO WAS OFFERED BY A REGIONAL DEALER MANUFACTURER WHO HAS NEVER SEEN MY CAR AND WHO REFUSED TO INSPECT IT PERSONALLY WHEN I REQUESTED IT.*AK

SEVERE WATER DAMAGE AND MOLD. BOGGING DOWN IN ENGINE WHEN AT COMPLETE STOP THE TRUCK WILL NOT ACCELERATE.*AK
WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A COLLISION BUT THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. *NLM
HEAD ON COLLISION WITH SOLID CEMENT BRIDGE AT 40+ MPH. AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, SEAT BELTS DID NOT LOCK IN PLACE ON IMPACT NOR DURING ROLL OVER ON MY 2000 CHEVY BLAZER. *JB
THE FRONT WHEEL BEARING EXPERIENCED PREMATURE FAILURE. *JB
THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED ON MY 2000 CHEVY BLAZER BECAUSE THE SENDING UNIT WAS CORRODED, ALSO THE HANDLE ON THE SIDE OF THE DRIVERS SEAT BROKE OFF WHEN I USED IT. *JB
THE WELDING ON THE TOP HINGE OF THE DRIVER DOOR SEPARATED. *JB WHEN THE CONSUMER SEARCHED FOR THE SOURCE OF THE WIND NOISE, HE DISCOVERED THAT THE UPPER DOOR HINGE WAS LOOSE, AND THE GROOVE WAS WORN INTO THE BRACKET. ALSO THE HINGE BRACKET WAS COMING LOOSE FROM THE DOOR FRAME. THE DEALER STATED THAT THIS WAS A DEFECT. SCC
FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR COMES OUT OF ALIGNMENT. DOOR HAD BEEN REPAIRED TWICE. HOWEVER, PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. *AK
WHEN STARTING TO ACCELERATE THE GAS PEDAL STICKS. HAVE HAD IT REPAIRED ONCE BY THE DEALER, IT ONLY LASTED LESS THEN A YEAR.*AK
THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL ACCIDENT, AND NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. *JB
WITHIN 2 MONTHS OF PURCHASE, THE BRAKES WENT OUT, THE ROTORS WERE PEELING LIKE HUNGRY MAN BISCUITS, REPLACEMENT OF ALL 4 ROTORS AND SHOES WERE DONE, ABS STILL NOT WORKING. LOCAL CHEVY DEALER UNSURE OF PROBLEM. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CONTINUES ON, CHEVY DEALER DOES NOT KNOW WHY. NOW AT 7 1/2 MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP, TORQUE CONVERTER IS "COMING APART" ACCORDING TO AAMCO. IT HAS A TERRIBLE WHIN AND WE ARE HAVING IT LOOKED AT BY A LOCAL TRANSMISION SHOP TODAY (8/26/03). I FEEL THAT THE DEALERSHIP THAT SOLD ME THIS SUV, I AM THE SECOND OWNER, SHOULD HAVE NOTICED SOME OF THIS HAPPENING OR STARTING TO HAPPEN AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE.

SUSPENSION FRONT AND REAR-UPPER AND LOWER BALL JOINTS(FRONT)LEFT AND RIGHT SIDES IDLER ARM AND BOTH REAR LEAF SPRINGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. WARPED ROTORS LEFT AND RIGHT. LEFT DOOR LOCK CYLINDER FELL OFF. DEALER REPLACED RIGHT REAR SPEAKER UNDER WARRANTY. FRONT SEAT RECLINER LEVERS REPLACED RESULTING IN SPLIT COST WITH DEALER. MANUFACTURER REP OFFERED LABOR/PARTS SPLIT FOR SUSPENSION WORK AND BRAKE WORK FOR $1400.00. REFUSED WORK ON DOOR LOCK IN EXCESS OF $300.00. *JB
HAD TO REPLACE FRONT LEFT AND RIGHT WHEEL BEARING HUBS. LESS THEN 40,000 MILES TALK TO CHEVROLET, NO HELP OUT OF WARRANTY. STILL CAN HEAR NOISE WHEN TURNING TO THE LEFT.
PLASTIC LEVER TO RECLINE PASSENGER SEAT BROKE OFF.
I TOOK MY YEAR 2000 CHEVROLET BLAZER INTO GLEASON CHEVROLET IN FOREST PARK ILLINOIS TO SERVICE AN INOPERABLE HORN. I WAS TOLD THAT THE FRONT AIR BAG MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED IN ORDER FOR THE HORN TO BE REPAIRED. (THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WILL NOT COVER THE COST OF REPAIRS.) I NOW AM CONCERNED THAT I HAVE TWO SAFETY ISSUES. 1.) THE HORN DOES NOT WORK. 2.) APPARENTLY, THE AIR BAG MODULE IS DEFECTIVE. GM WILL NOT COVER THE COST OF REPAIRS.*JB
MY 2000 CHEVROLET BLAZERS FUEL LEVEL SENDING UNIT WENT OUT AFTER 6 MOS OF OWNING THE VEHICLE I BOUGHT IT USED IN 2003 AND ALL THE SUDDEN THE GAS GAGE WASN'T WORKING SO I TOOK IT IN TO SEE WHAT WAS WRONG AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE FUEL LEVEL SENDING UNIT WENT OUT. SO I STARTED ASKING AROUND AND A LOT OF OWNERS OF THE SAME MAKE, MODEL, AND YEAR ALSO COMPLAINED THAT THEIRS WENT OUT AS WELL I GOT QUOTES ON HOW MUCH TO FIX IT AND WAS TOLD THAT THE PRICE RANGE WAS $380-$460. AND I WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE FUEL TANK JUST TO GET IT FIXED. ALSO THE REAR-END DIFFERENTIAL BROKE AND IT TOOK 3 MONTHS TO FINALLY FIND ONE BECAUSE THE MANUFACTURER DOESN'T MAKE THE PART FOR THAT YEAR ANYMORE. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE QUALITY OF MY CAR AND STRONGLY REGRET BUYING IT WITH ALL THE PROBLEMS IT HAS. *NM
VEHICLE WAS IN A FRONTAL COLLISION, BUT NONE OF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED UPON IMPACT. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED HEAD,NECK AND BACK INJURIES. PLEASE PROVIDE MORE DETAILS.
TRANSMISSION SLIPS, 38KMILES ON MY 2000 BLAZER, OUT OF WARRANTY. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, THE DEALER'S MECHANIC SAID HE HAS REPLACED A VALVE ON THE TRANSMISSION OF FOUR 2000 BLAZERS SO FAR THIS YEAR. I WILL MAKE NUMBER FIVE - QUOTED COST OF $850. SERVICE CENTER WILL NOT COVER UNDER WARRANTY. READ SEVERAL REPORTS ABOUT TRANSMISSION ISSUES SIMILAR TO MINE ON 2000 BLAZERS AND S-10S. WHY NO RECALL? IF THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM, WHY AM I NOT COVERRED UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY?!!

THE METAL PART OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT RECLINER BROKE WHILE TRYING TO ADJUST THE SEAT.
2000 CHEVROLET BLAZER 4.3L 2 DOOR UTV - VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED AS GM CERTIFIED USED WITH 49712 MILES, ON 1/17/03. DEFECTIVE DRIVER SIDE DOOR HINGE WAS NOTICED ON THE FOLLOWING DAY, 1/18/03, AND BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE SELLING DEALERSHIP WHEN THEY OPENED FOR BUSINESS ON MONDAY 1/19/03. A SUBSEQUENT BODY SHOP ESTIMATE REQUESTED BY THE SELLING DEALERSHIP FOUND ALL FOUR (DRIVER AND PASSENGER) DOOR HINGES, TO BE IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT DUE TO INFERIOR WELDS. *NLM
FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS MAKING GRINDING NOISE AT 37000 MI DEALER WOULD NOT COVER UNDER WARRANTY COST $1004.00 TO REPAIR, ALSO REAR DIFFERENTIAL REPLACED AT 35000 MI WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY
CONSUMER STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED AND WITHOUT WARNING THE THROTTLE WOULD STICK IN THE IDLE POSITION CAUSING A DISTRACTION TO THE CONSUMER. DEALER NOTIFIED. TS

BOTH SETS OF OIL FILTER RELOCATION LINES LEAK AND NEED REPLACEMENT. MECHANIC STATES VERY COMMON IN THIS VEHICLE.
THERE WAS ROARING NOISE IN THE FRONT END WHEN CONSUMER ACCELERATED. DEALERSHIP INDICATED THAT THE NOISE WAS DUE TO THE BEARINGS. HUB AND THE BEARING ASSEMBLY WERE REPLACED.*AK
ACCELERATION PEDAL HARD TO PUSH, ACTS LIKE IT STICKS. THE DEALERSHIP CLEANED THE THROTTLE BODY, THEY SAID THAT THERE WAS CARBON BUILD UP WHICH CAUSED THE STICKING. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAD THIS CLEANED. WHEN I ASKED THE DEALER, HE SAID THIS WAS VERY COMMON WITH THE 4.3 V6 ENGINES. DEALER RECOMMENDED ADDING FUEL INJECTOR CLEANER TO STOP THE BUILD UP OF CARBON. I HAD BEEN DOING THAT. SEEMS LIKE IT LESSENED THE BUILD UP BUT DID NOT PREVENT IT. I SUPPOSE THIS IS GOING TO BE NORMAL MAINTENANCE, SIMILAR TO AN OIL CHANGE. I HAVE HAD OTHER BLAZERS AND HAVE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM, IT WOULD BE NICE IF THE MANUFACTURER COULD RESOLVE THE PROBLEM.
