I HAVE REPLACED THE HUB ASSEMBLY, IDLER ARM, & WHEEL BEARINGS ON BOTH DRIVER & PASSENGER SIDE OF MY VEHICLE. WHEN I DRIVE OVER 45 MPH MY CAR MAKES AN AWFUL SOUND & NO MATTER WHAT I CHANGE OR HAVE FIXED THE PARKING BRAKE/ABS LIGHTS STAY ON. I'VE HAD MANY MECHANICS LOOK AT & SAY THEY'VE FIXED THE ISSUE BUT NONE HAVE ACTUALLY FIXED IT. I WAS DRIVING 70MPH ON THE HIGHWAY & MY BRAKES FELT AS IF THEY WERE LOCKING UP. *TR
A CHUNK OF APPROXIMATELY 2-3" BLEW OUT OF THE SIDEWALL OF THE REAR PASSENGER TIRE. MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING, AND SHE LOST CONTROL AFTER THE TIRE BLEW AND HIT A TREE HEAD ON AT 45 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED AND MY DAUGHTER HAS MULTIPLE INJURIES, INCLUDING A FRACTURED KNEECAP, SPRAINED JAW, DISC PROTRUSIONS AT C6/C7 AND L5/S1. SHE IS HAVING HEADACHES AND FACIAL PAIN AND A BRAIN MRI WAS PERFORMED YESTERDAY. WE'LL HAVE THOSE RESULTS SOMETIME NEXT WEEK. THE TIRE WAS PURCHASED IN OCTOBER 2013, WAS 20% WORN AND HAD NO SIGNS OF INFLATION PROBLEMS OR SIGNS OF ANYTHING STRIKING THE TIRE. IT WAS A GOODYEAR TIRE. *TR
2000 CHEVROLET BLAZER 4X4, WAS PARKED FOR THREE WEEKS IN A DRIVEWAY OF A HOUSE DURING VACATION TRIP. UPON DRIVING THE VEHICLE UPON VACATION RETURN IT WAS FOUND THAT THE FIRESTONE FIREHAWK 500 235/70R15 RIGHT FRONT TIRE HAD BELT SEPARATION CAUSING MAJOR VIBRATION, STEERING DIFFICULTY AND REQUIRED TIRE REPLACEMENT. THREE OTHER FIRESTONE FIREHAWK 500 TIRES ON THE VEHICLE DO NOT INDICATE ANY DEFECT UPON VISUAL INSPECTION. FIRESTONE RECOMMENDS REPLACEMENT OF ALL TIRES DUE TO AGE, DOT 3303. TREAD REMAINING ON TIRES IS 3/32" OR MORE. *TR
ON 6/4/2008 I PURCHASED FOUR TIRES FROM WALMART IN YUMA, AZ THEY WERE DOUGLAS TIRES 205/75R15BWX-TRAC II. WALMART INSTALLED/MOUNTED AND BALANCED THE TIRES. 5 MONTH'S AND LESS THEN 5000 MILES LATER ON 11/7/08 MY WIFE CALLED ME TO SAY THAT A TIRE WAS FLAT WHEN I GOT THERE TO LOOK AT THE TIRE I FOUND THAT THE TIRE HAD RIPPED IN SIX DIFFERENT PLACES FROM THE RIM TO THE TREAD ALL THE WAY THROUGH. I THEN LOOKED AT THE OTHER TIRES TO FIND THAT THEY HAD INDENTED/IMPRESSIONS IN THE SAME PATTERN AROUND THE TIRE AS IF STARTING TO CRACK THROUGH LIKE THE OTHER ONE DID. ALSO I WAS HAVING DIFFICULTLY KEEPING THE PROPER PSI LEVEL IN THEM MY VEHICLE MANUFACTURE RECOMMENDS 35PSI, BUT FOR SOME REASON THESE TIRES WILL LEAK OUT TO 20 PSI I HAD TO PUT AIR IN THEM EVERY MONTH TO KEEP THEM AT THE PROPER LEVEL. I WENT BACK TO WALMART THE NEXT DAY ON 11/8/2008 AFTER ARGUING WITH THEM THEY FINALLY REPLACED ALL FOUR TIRES BUT THEY USED THE SAME BRAND, AND NOW A MONTH LATER I'M STARTING TO SEE THE SAME PATTERN OF INDENT'S/ IMPRESSIONS IN THE SIDE WALL AND THESE TIRES TO LEAK AIR AS BAD AS THE LAST SET OF DOUGLAS TIRES THE REPLACEMENT TIRES WALMART INSTALLED ARE 205/75R15BWX-T. I BELIEVE THAT THIS BRAND NAME HAS DEFECTIVE TIRES AND THIS NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO. I ALSO HAVE PICTURES OF THE TIRES THAT RIPPED IF I CAN I WILL ADD THEM TO THE REPORT BUT IF NOT JUST REQUEST THEM FROM ME AND I WILL SEND THEM VIA EMAIL. THANK YOU. *TR
I WAS RETURNING FROM BEAUFORT, SC WITH MY NIECE'S 1 YR AND 2 YR OLD CHILDREN. MY NIECE IS IN THE MILITARY AND I WAS BRINGING THE KIDS BACK TO STAY WITH MY SISTER, THEIR GRANDMOTHER, FOR A MONTH. OUTSIDE OF ATLANTA ON I75 AT 1:00 AM I HEARD A HUGE BANG AND THE FRONT RIGHT OF MY CAR FLEW INTO THE AIR. I HAD ANOTHER NIECE, WHO WAS 3 MONTHS PREGNANT, WITH ME WHO WAS RIDING IN THE FRONT SEAT. WHEN THE CAR FLEW UP SHE FLEW UP AND HIT THE ROOF OF THE CAR. LUCKILY SHE HAD HER SEAT BELT ON OR SHE MIGHT HAVE BROKEN HER NECK. MY NIECE SAW THAT I WAS TRYING TO GET CONTROL OF THE CAR AND LOOKED OUT THE WINDOW TO SEE IF ANY VEHICLES WERE NEAR SO WE COULD GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. NO VEHICLES WERE AROUND SO WE MADE IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. MY NIECE WALKED BACK DOWN THE HIGHWAY TO SEE IF SHE COULD FIND WHAT WE HAD RAN OVER. WHEN AN OFFICER CAME TO HELP CHANGE THE TIRE TO THE SPARE HE SHOWED ME IT WAS NOT A FLAT TIRE BUT THAT MY RIM HAD EXPLODED. THE OFFICER CHANGED THE TIRE, FOLLOWED US TO MAKE SURE THE CAR WAS DRIVABLE THEN LEFT US TO DRIVE BACK TO CHAMPAIGN, IL. THE EXPLODING RIM CAUSED THE RADIATOR RACK, RIGHT HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY, RIM, TIRE, TO BE FIXED. THEN THE CAR HAD TO BE ALIGNED. LUCKILY MY INSURANCE COMPANY SAFECO, PAID FOR EVERYTHING BUT MY $500 DEDUCTIBLE. I STILL HAVE THE RIM SITTING IN MY KITCHEN IN CASE ANYONE WANTED TO EXAMINE IT. *TR
DRIVING FROM SOUTH CAROLINA TO ILLINOIS, THE ALUMINUM RIM ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE EXPLODED OUTSIDE OF ATLANTA, GA ON I 75. I HAD MY 1 YR. OLD GREAT NEPHEW, 2 YR OLD GREAT NIECE AND 24 YR OLD NIECE WHO IS 4 MONTHS PREGNANT IN THE CAR. NO ONE WAS SERIOUSLY HURT BECAUSE WE WERE ALL WEARING SEATBELTS AND THE BABIES WERE IN CAR SEATS BUT EXTENSIVE DAMAGE WAS DONE TO THE VEHICLE. I HAVE CONTACTED CHEVROLET ABOUT THE RIM BUT HAVE HEARD NOTHING BACK FROM THE COMPANY. *TR

TOYO A/T OPEN COUNTRY TIRES, P235/70R15. 2 OF THESE TIRES BLEW OUT THE ENTIRE SIDEWALL WHILE DRIVING IN THE PAST 5 MONTHS. CONSUMER HAD THEM BOTH REPLACED WITH A DIFFERENT BRAND OF TIRES. *AK
HAD FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL HUB (WHEEL BEARING) ASSEMBLY REPLACED IN OCTOBER 2004. IN MARCH 2005 SAME WHEEL BEARING FAILED WHICH NEEDED REPLACED AGAIN. NOW ON THE DRIVER SIDE THE WHEEL BEARING IS MAKING NOISE. I LOOKED INTO THIS AND ALOT OF PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES AND WHEEL BEARINGS. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE AS THE WHEEL BEARING HOLDS ON THE FRONT WHEEL THUS COULD CAUSE WHEEL TO FALL OFF WHILE DRIVING.
WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MPH, WITH OUT ANY WARNING, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE. AS SOON AS THE CONSUMER PULLED OVER, THE FRONT LEFT WHEEL SEPARATED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A INDEPENDENT SHOP, THE MECHANIC FOUND ALL THE LUG NUTS WERE BROKE. *JB
I HAD TO REPLACE BOTH FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS IN MY 2000 CHEVROLET BLAZER WITHIN A TWO WEEK PERIOD. THE VEHICLE HAS ONLY 60,000 MILES ON IT (VIN [XXX]). EACH REPLACEMENT COST WAS $238.00, INCLUDING LABOR. THE BEARINGS SHOULDN'T HAVE NEEDED REPLACED WITH ONLY 60,000 MILES ON IT. I'M VERY DISPLEASED WITH THIS AND WANT TO FIND OUT IF THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. OUR TIRES, UNIROYAL NAIL GARD TIGER PAW P235/70R15, WERE VERY NEW, THEY HAD EXCELLENT TREAD LEFT. I NOTICED A "WOBBLE" DEVELOPING AND W/IN A FEW DAYS THE TIRE EXPLODED. THE BACK LEFT TIRE TREAD SEPERATED. OUR FUEL LINE WAS TORN OUT, THE INNER WALL OF OUR WHEEL WELL WAS BROKEN UP AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. WE WERE W/OUT OUR VEHICLE FOR ALMOST 2 MONTHS. THE REPAIR SHOP INFORMED US THAT OUR TIRES HAD BEEN DISCONTINUED SO WE RECEIVED A DIFFERNT TYPE OF UNIROYAL TIRE. IT HAS BEEN 2 MONTHS SINCE THE CAR WAS RETURNED TO US. I HAVE NOTICED THE "WOBBLE" AGAIN. WE ARE GETTING NEW TIRES TOMORROW. OUR COMPLAINTS TO UNIROYAL WERE IGNORED. THEY GAVE NO REASON FOR THE DISCONTINUATION OF THE TIRES. I WONDER WHY IT IS OK TO LET PEOPLE CONTINUE DRIVING AROUND ON TIRES THAT COULD KILL THEM? WHY DOESN'T THIS GOVERNMENT WEBSITE DO ANYTHING ABOUT ALL THESE COMPLAINTS? TREAD SEPARATION ON TWO UNIROYAL LAREDO P235-70-15 ON A 2000 BLAZER TIRES, WITH-IN A 10 DAY PERIOD. APX. 10 DAYS AGO FRONT END WAS SHAKING, TOLD OF TIRE SEPARATION ON L/F. TREAD WAS SEPARATING FROM TIRE . BOUGHT 2 NEW TIRES. TODAY I HAD TIRE SEPARATION ON L/R AND AGAIN TREAD WAS PEALING FROM TIRE. CALLED UNIROYAL TODAY AND AFTER THREE PHONE CALLS OF GETTING THE RUNAROUND I WAS THEN ABLE TO HAVE ONE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY THE OTHER TIRE WAS DISPOSED OF BY TIRE SHOP. TIRES HAD ABOUT 60-65% TREAD LIFE LEFT ON THEM. PROBLEM WAS THAT THE TIRE SHOPS THEY SENT ME TOO SAID THEY ONLY SELL UNIROYAL TIRES AND DO NOT WARRANTY THEM. OTHER PROBLEM WAS BY ALLEGED REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVE IN MY OPINION HAD A "NO CARE" ATTITUDE. *AK
WHILE DRIVING WHEEL CAME OFF.*AK CONSUMER STATES WHILE DRIVING, THE ABS LIGHT ILLUMINATED, A LITTLE FURTHER DOWN THE ROAD WHILE AT A STOP SIGN THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL CAME OFF, DEALER STATED THE BRAKES WERE FINE, HOWEVER THE WHEEL HUB ASSEMBLY HAD EXPLODED AND SEVERED THE ABS CONNECTION, CAUSING THE ABS LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE, CONSUMER STATES PRIOR TO THE ILLUMINATION OF THE ABS LIGHT, THERE WAS A POPPING SOUND. *SLC
