FIRE STARTED UNDER FRONT DRIVER TIRE. *TS *JB
DT: THE CONTACT COMPLAINED OF A TIRE PROBLEM. HE JUST PURCHASED THE TIRES FROM BRIDGESTONE THEY HAVE ABOUT 2500 MILES. THE TIRES SHIMMY SIDE TO SIDE WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A FULL SET OF TIRES. BRIDGESTONE DUELER HL ALENZA, P23570R15. AS THE TEMPERATURE INCREASES THE SHIMMY GETS WORSE. THIS S CAUSE VIBRATION AND A REALLY LOOSE FEELING. THERE NO ABNORMAL BULGING. DOT NUMBER IS 0BM1DH40505.*AK
A FEW WEEKS AGO DRIVING HOME FROM WORK IN A 2002 CHEVROLET BLAZER, AND COMING AROUND CORNER THE DOOR HOOK AND CAUSED THE DOOR TO OPEN. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER, AND THEY SAID TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALER (SUN CHEVROLET), AND THEY SAID IT WASN'T THEIR FAULT BECAUSE SHE DIDN'T LUBRICATE THE DOOR ONCE A MONTH. CONTACTS HUSBAND WELDED THE DOOR HOOK BACK ON, BUT NOW THE DOOR WILL NOT COMPLETELY SHUT, CAUSING THE LIGHTS TO STAY ON AND THE BATTERY TO RUN DOWN. THE AUTOMOBILE MANUAL DID NOT STATE FOR CONTACT TO LUBRICATE DOORS ONCE A MONTH. THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR IS NOW DOING THE SAME THING. THE BACK GATE WILL NOT OPEN EITHER.*AK
CONSUMER STATED DEALER SOLD HIM A VEHICLE WITH THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG DISCONNECTED. CONSUMER WAS VERY CONCERNED THAT IN EVENT OF A CRASH HE WOULD SUSTAIN INJURIES DUE TO THE DEFECT. *AK
VEHICLE EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS WITH THE HAZARD LIGHT SWITCH AND REAR TAIL LIGHTS, WHICH BECAME INOPERATIVE. OWNER CONTACTED THE DEALER AND CALLED THE MANUFACTURER, AND WAS INFORMED THAT ALTHOUGH THE VIN FELL WITHIN THOSE AFFECTED BY THE RECALL THEY STILL REFUSED TO ACCOMMODATE THE OWNER WITH REPAIR ASSISTANCE. *AK

FRONT WHEEL HUBS WEARING OUT AT 40,000 MILES, RESULTING IN LOSS OF VEHICLE USE AND 1,000 DOLLAR REPAIR BILL AFTER SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE FRONT END TO THE DEALER BEFORE WARRANTY RAN OUT. *JB

I HAVE BEEN HEARING A NOISE IN THE FRONT END FOR A FEW WEEKS AND I HAD THE TIRES REPLACED BUT IT DID NOT CURE THE PROBLEM. I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT I NEED A HUB ASSEMBLY WHICH IS $500 FOR THE PART ALONE AND I NEED AN IDLER ARM WHICH I HAVE TAKEN MY VEHICLE IN FAITHFULLY FOR MAINTENANCE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY NEVER TOLD MY ABOUT IT AND JUST SAID TO WATCH THE TIRES. OBVIOUSLY WITH THE WEAR ON MY TIRES (OUTSIDE WEAR) THEY SHOULD OF HAVE KNOWN. I HAVE BEEN IN TWICE FOR THE FRONT END REPLACEMENT OF BUSHINGS AND MANY OTHER THINGS AND I ALSO HAVE HEARD FROM MANY PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AS I HAVE WITH THE HUB ASSEMBLY. NOT EVERYONE HAS $500 TO JUST FORK OUT. PLEASE HELP. *NM
DRIVER'S SIDE BALL JOINTS FAILED AT 60,000 MILES. NORMAL DRIVING, THIS MODEL HAD PROBLEMS IN THE PAST 1997 WITH THE SAME CONDITION. LOOKS LIKE THEY COULD NOT FIX IF YOU HAVE MORE COMPLAINTS. HAD TO REPAIR AT LOCAL AUTO REPAIR SHOP. 200+*AK
IDENTIFIED FAILURE OF THE FRONT LEFT WHEEL BEARING AT 36,595. COULD GET WARRANTY COVERAGE. THANKS FOR THE AMERICAN PIECE OF CRAP.*AK
IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING PURCHASE OF A 2002 CHEVROLET BLAZER IN AUGUST 2002, I NOTICED A LOUD ROARING NOISE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD WHICH OCCURED MOSTLY UPON STARTUP WHEN ENGINE WAS COLD AND PUT INTO DRIVE GEAR. THIS NOISE WAS ALSO INTERMITTENTLY NOTICED AFTER COMING TO A STOP AND THEN ACCELERATING. BY THE TIME I DROVE IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, IT WAS NOT DOING IT. SINCE PURCHASE, 2 REPLACEMENT BATTERIES HAVE BEEN INSTALLED. SERVICE DEPT AT DEALERSHIP SAID ALTERNATOR WAS DRAINING THE BATTERY AND REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR. CAR IS STILL DOING THIS BUT DEALER IS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE AND SAYING LOUD ROAR IS MOST LIKELY NORMAL. NOW SEVERAL ACQUAINTANCES HAVE SAID THEY HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR BLAZERS EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE A DIFFERENT YEAR MODEL. ONCE THE WARRANTY RUNS OUT, THIS PROBLEM COULD ADD UP TO QUITE AN EXPENSE.*AK
EMERGENCY BRAKE NOT HOLDING/WORKING. PARKING BRAKE SHOES GLAZED/WORN ON A 2 YEAR OLD TRUCK WITH 30,000 MILES ON IT. THIS IS AN UNUSUALLY HIGH FAILURE RATE FOR THE PARKING BRAKE, THE REGULAR BRAKES ARE STILL GOOD BUT THE PARKING BRAKE HAS FAILED. THE G.M. SERVICE PERSONNEL CONFIRMED THAT THEY HAVE SEEN A LOT OF EMERGENCY/PARK BRAKE FAILURES. *JB

CONSUMER'S VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM AS STATED IN NHTSA RECALL 01V364000. SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES. THE MULTI FUNCTION SWITCH COULD DEVELOP AN OPEN CIRCUIT CONDITION THAT RESULTS IN THE STOP LAMPS AND THE REAR HAZARD LAMPS BECOMING INOPERATIVE. THE CENTER HIGH MOUNTED STOP LAMP AND TURN SIGNAL FUNCTIONS ARE NOT AFFECTED. DEALERSHIP INDICATED CONSUMER'S VEHICLE NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL DUE TO VIN. *AK
I WAS INFORMED BY MY HUSBAND, AS HE WAS FOLLOWING ME, THAT MY BRAKE LIGHTS DID NOT WORK. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FROM WHICH, I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT. THEY SAID THE MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH WAS BAD AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. WE PAID $391.72 TO HAVE THE SWITCH REPLACED. I LATER FOUND OUT THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE SAME YEAR VEHICLE, ON THE SAME PART, WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS AS WE HAVE EXPERIENCE, HOWEVER THE VIN # OF OUR VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL BECAUSE OUR VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED AT A DIFFERENT PLANT. *AK
1) REAR BRAKE LIGHTS AND SAFTEY HAZZARD LIGHTS FAIL DO TO AN OPEN CIRCUIT CAUSED BY SWITCH MALFUNCTION 2) REAR BRAKE LIGHTS DO NOT OPERATE AND NO MALFUNCTION IS DISPLAYED ON INSTRUMENTATION DISPLAY. THE LOSS OF STOP LAMPS AND HAZARD LAMPS COULD FAIL TO WARN A FOLLOWING DRIVER THAT THE VEHICLE IS BRAKING AND/OR IS STOPPED, AND COULD RESULT IN A CRASH. 3) HAD GM DEALER REPAIR HAZARD SWITCH ASSEMBY. NHTSA RECALL NO. 01V364/GM RECALL NO. 01073 HAS BEEN ISSUED ON SOME 2002 CHEVY BLAZERS, BUT THE VIN NUMBER FOR THIS CAR WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL LIST.*AK
BRAKE LIGHTS AND HAZARD LIGHTS DO NOT WORK. SPOKE TO GM AND THEY SAID THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE, BUT MY VIN DIDN'T QUALIFY. WAS TOLD BY GM TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS, AND THAT THEY WOULD REIMBURSE IF A NEW RECALL WAS ISSUED. CALLED DEALER AND WAS QUOTED $360 FOR THE REPAIR.*AK
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE PULLED TO THE RIGHT OWN ITS OWN. CONSUMER DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK
WINDSHIELD WIPERS MALFUNCTIONED AND/OR STOPPED. *AK
INTERMITTENT WIPERS STOP WORKING. SOMETIMES THEY LIKE AD, MEANING: ONE WIPE, PAUSE, 2 WIPES, PAUSE, 3 WIPES, PAUSE, 4 WIPES, PAUSE, THE BACK TO 2 WIPES AND COUNTS BACK UP. MY THEORY IS MAYBE A CAPACITOR(S) HAVE GONE BAD?*AK
WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH VEHICLE STALLED. *AK
HATCH ON TAILGATE DOOR-WILL NOT OPEN-INSTRUCTIONS FOR MANUAL OPENING DOES NOT WORK-CANNOT OPEN FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE-SEEMS TO BE JAMMED. INSIDE RELEASE DOES NOT WORK AND CANNOT OPEN MANUALLY . *JB
I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET ON 3 CHEVROLETS IN THE PAST 3 THREE YEARS TODAY BEING THE THE THIRD. IF THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE GASKETS OR COOLANT <DEXCOOL> THE REPAIR SHOULD BE DONE AT NO COST TO THE CONSUMER

REAR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. COULD NOT CLOSE. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALERSHIP, AND FLOOR MANAGER INDICATED ONE OF THE HINGES BROKE , AND WOULD COST $175.00 AT CONSUMER'S EXPENSE. *AK

TO AVOID ACCIDENT ON 2002 CHEV BLAZER 4WD. I WAS IN 2WD I HIT THE BRAKES. NOTHING HAPPENED. I PUSHED BRAKE PEDAL AS FAR AS IT WOULD GO. SEAT BELTS DID NOT TIGHTEN, I DOWNSHIFTED BUT NOTHING HAPPENED. I HEARD TWO CLUNKS IN THE REAR END. I WAS UNABLE TO SLOW DOWN FROM MY SPEED AT 30 MPH. I SAW A WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASH DURING THIS INCIDENT. I HIT A PICKUP TRUCK WHO STOPPED SUDDENLY TO AVOID A SENIOR CITIZEN WHO CROSSED LANES OF TRAFFIC IN A 65 MPH SHE WAS DOING ABOUT 30 MPH. I WAS UNABLE TO REACH EMERGANCY BRAKE IN TIME. MY WIFE REC'D TWO BROKEN RIBS AND THREE CRACKED RIBS AND BRUISING. PICKUP TRUCK HAD MINOR DAMAGE. I HAD $6,700.00 DAMAGE. I HAD JUST RECENTLY HAD A COMMAND MODULE PUT IN THE VEHICLE TO REPAIR FAULTY 4WD PROBLEM NOT GOING IN AND OUT OF 4WD WITHOUT PLAYING AROUND WITH CONTROLS. MY ABS FLAT OUT DID NOT WORK OR SLOW ME DOWN. I COULD NOT DOWNSHIFT. MY TACHOMETER WAS AT IDLE WHEN I DOWNSHIFTED.
STEERING COMPONENT FAILURE (TIE ROD ENDS OUTER) AT LESS THAN 20,000 MILES. *CB
WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT THE HEAD LIGHTS WENT OUT. THE DRIVER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR ANALYSIS. THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *JB *SC
BOTH REAR BRAKE LIGHTS CONTINUALLY BURN OUT. DEALER REPLACED REAR BRAKE LIGHTS SEVERAL TIMES, HAS BEEN REPLACED MANY TIMES, BUT PROBLEM RECURRING. *AK
CONSUMER STARTED THE VEHICLE AND PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL BUT THE VEHICLE DID NOT MOVE. THE CONSUMER APPLIED PRESSURE TO THE ACCELERATOR, AND IT TOOK LITTLE WHILE FOR THE VEHICLE TO START MOVING. THE DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE THREE TIMES AND COULD NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM.*AK *CB THE CONSUMER STATED THE TRANSMISSION MADE SOME NOISES, THE DEALER DISCOVERED SOME PARTS OF THE TRANSMISSION WERE DAMAGED, HOWEVER DAYS LATER THE VEHICLE WENT BACK TO NOT ACCELERATING AND THE ENGINE RACING. THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT THE MANUFACTURER WOULD EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON THE TRANSMISSION. THE BRAKE LIGHT WAS INOPERATIVE THERE WAS A CLICKING NOISE IN THE DRIVERS SEAT.*JB
WHILE DRIVING, DIRT AND DUST PARTICLES COME THROUGH THE VENTILATION SYSTEM. *AK THE EXHAUST SYSTEM AND CATALYTIC CONVERTERS IS BACKING UP THROUGH THE AIR AND HEAT VENTILATION SYSTEM. THIS PROBLEM WAS DUE TO THE VEHICLE BEING REAR ENDED *CB *JB
THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION AND THE FRONT AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE DRIVER SUFFERED NECK AND BACK INJURIES. THE FRONT PASSENGER SUFFERED CHEST INJURIES. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *JB
THE OCEAN SALT ATE THE ROTORS. WHEN THIS OCCURRED THE BRAKES AND THE PADS WERE DAMAGED. MANUFACTURER WAS PROVIDING NO ASSISTANCE ALTHOUGH THEY WERE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. GM DEALERSHIP WANTED $1350.00 TO REPLACE BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS. *AK *MR
THE MAXIMUM SPEED WHILE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE IS 40 MPH, ALSO VEHICLE WONT ENGAGE IN REVERSE. DEALER NOT NOTIFIED YET. *AK
WHEN DRIVER STEPPED ON BRAKES ALL REAR LIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE ( DRIVER TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND WAS INFORMED BY THE MECHANIC THAT REAR ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHORTED OUT.*AK
CONSUMER WAS HAVING A PROBLEM WITH VEHICLE JUMPING OUT OF GEAR INTO NEUTRAL WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAPPENED ABOUT 8 TIMES. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE REPAIR SHOP 3 TIMES AND WAS TOLD BY A CHEVROLET REPRESENTATIVE THAT THEY HAD NO ANSWER FOR THIS BEHAVIOR NOR A SOLUTION. THEREFORE, THEY DID NOT KNOW HOW TO REPAIR IT. *AK *SCC *JB
CONSUMER STATED WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED AND WITH NO WARNING VEHICLE SHUT OFF, CAUSING CONSUMER TO PULL OFF THE ROAD. DEALER HAS INSPECTED THE VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES, AND COULD NOT DUPLICATE OR CORRECT THE PROBLEMS. *AK
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION DOESN'T SHIFT PROPERLY FROM THE FIRST TO SECOND GEAR. DEALER HAS INSPECTED EIGHT TIMES AND WASN'T AVAILABLE TO DUPLICATE OR CORRECT THE PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. *PH
LEFT WORK AND ARRIVED AT GAS STATION. PUT VEHICLE FROM DRIVE TO PARK AND CAR DIED. STARTED BACK UP NO PROBLEM. GOT HOME, PUT IT FROM DRIVE TO PARK; DIED AGAIN. VEHICLE DIES WHENEVER PUT FROM DRIVE/REVERSE INTO PARK. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP; COULDN'T DUPLICATE. TAKING VEHICLE TO CHEVY FOR THEM TO LOOK OVER & RUN TESTS. *AK
CONSUMER STATED THAT DUE TO THE OUTSIDE REARVIEW MIRROR BEING ELECTRIC IT WOULD BE HARD TO MOVE OR NOT MOVE AT ALL. DEALER NOTIFIED. *AK
ELECTRICAL FAILURE--PULLED IN TO GET SOME GAS, AFTER RESTARTING VEHICLE I HAD NO RADIO,NO DASH LIGHTS FOR GEAR SELECTOR OR MILEAGE,FUEL GUAGE DID NOT WORK OR TEMP GAUGE DID NOT WORK,CRUISE CONTROL DID NOT WORK, CIGARETTE LIGHTER DID NOT WORK. SEEMS TO HAVE A PAUSE WHEN TRANSMISSION SHIFTS SOMETIMES. WE NEED A RECALL ON THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, SEEMS TO BE A LOT OF ELECTRICAL PROMLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE.*AK
THE CONSUMER STATED THE RIGHT REAR TIRE WAS BALD, AND TREAD CAME OF THE TIRE.*AK THE LEFT REAR TIRE WAS ABOUT THE SAME AS THE RIGHT REAR TIRE. *PH *JB

INTERMITTENTLY WINDSHIELD WIPERS BECOME INOPERABLE, OBSTRUCTING THE DRIVERS VIEW. DEALER REPLACED SENSOR MODULE AND STILL PROBLEM RECURRING. CURRENTLY, VEHICLE IS WITHOUT WARRANTY. *AK
I M BUYING A 2002 CHEVROLET BLAZER NOW THE EMISSION EXHAUST SYSTEM HAS BEGUN TO LET OUT DUST HEAT OUT OF THE AIR VENT. AND MAKING MY HEAD HURT AND BODY HURT. THE WARRANTY SAID THAT IT IS THE EMISSIONS CONTROL SYSTEM WARRANTY. *CB
