THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER:14V047000 (ELECTRICAL) BUT WAS ADVISED BY THE DEALER THAT THE PARTS NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE REPAIR WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO CONTACTED AND COULD NOT PROVIDE REASONABLE DATE FOR WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD RECEIVE THE RECALL REPAIRS. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET COBALT. THE CONTACT WAS REFUELING THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT ONCE THE FUEL TANK BECAME HALF FULL, THE FUEL BEGAN TO SPILL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THE FILL HOSE FITTING THAT WAS WELDED/SEALED TO THE PLASTIC GAS TANK SEPARATED CAUSING SPILLAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. A 30% DISCOUNT WAS NEGOTIATED ON A NEW GAS TANK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 203,010. ..UPDATED 12-05-13 *BF
I WAS TRAVELING ON THE FREEWAY WHEN I WAS CLIPPED BY A DIESEL TRUCK ON MY DRIVERS LEFT REAR. I SPUN COUNTER CLOCKWISE IN FRONT OF DIESEL AND WENT STRAIGHT TOWARDS CENTER DIVIDER, UPON OBSERVING A VEHICLE IN THE SAME LANE MY VEHICLE WAS HEAD TOWARDS. BOTH VEHICLES MADE CONTACT HITTING ME ON MY DRIVERS FRONT PANEL AND THE COBALT HITTING STRAIGHT INTO CENTER DIVIDER NO AIR BAGS WERE DEPLOYED. INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED, CAR WAS A TOTAL LOSS. THIS VEHICLE HAS NOTHING BUT PROBLEM TWICE IN 2013 THE KEY WOULD BREAK OFF IN THE IGNITION AND WERE NOT FITTING CORRECTLY CAUSING REPLACEMENT. *TR

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO REMOVE THE KEY AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS. THE INTERNAL LIGHT ILLUMINATED AT RANDOM WITH OR WITHOUT THE KEY ENGAGED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION MODULE AND THE TRUNK KEY NEEDED TO REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 14V047000 (AIR BAGS AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
MY AIRBAG LIGHT SAYS IT IS NOT ON AND THE LIGHT IN DASH LIGHTS UP AND SAYS "SERVICE AIR BAGS".THE LIGHT STAYS ON WHILE I AM DRIVING AND A RED FLASHING LIGHT OF A PICTURE OF A PERSON BEHIND THE WHEEL WITH AN AIRBAG POPPED OUT ON THEM FLASHES.IT'S FRIGHTENING TO ME AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY IT IS DOING THIS. IT STARTED DOING THIS AFTER I HAD THE RECALL ON THE IGNITION SWITCH FIXED. *TR

CAR WAS HESITANT TO START; AFTER GETTING THE CAR STARTED, SMELLED FUEL STRONGLY. SAW FUEL LEAKING FROM REAR DRIVERS SIDE OF CAR. THERE IS A PREVIOUS RECALL FOR MY STATE, BUT THE CAR WAS ORIGINALLY PURCHASED IN NEW YORK SO THEY WILL NOT COVER THE REPAIR. *TR

I CAN SMELL A STRONG GASOLINE ODOR WHILE DRIVING AND EVEN WHEN THE CAR IS PARKED. I CALLED GM AND THEY SAID TO TAKE IT TO THE NEAREST GM DEALER TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT AS THERE MIGHT BE SOMETHING CRACKED AND IT WOULD BE FIXED FREE OF CHARGE. I TOOK IT TO OUR NEAREST GM DEALER AND THEY CHECKED IT OUT BUT SAID THERE IS NO RECALL ON IT FOR THIS CAR. I AM SCARED THE CAR IS GOING TO START ON FIRE BECAUSE NO ONE CAN FIGURE OUT WHERE THE SMELL IS COMING FROM. OR WORSE YET GET CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING! *TR
THE FLOOR SHIFTER ON MY 2007 COBALT WILL NOT LOCK OUT TO PREVENT CAR FROM MOVING WILL IGNITION SWITCH IS OFF. THE PIN INSIDE SHIFTER WORKS IT'S WAY OUT OF SHIFTER AND PREVENTS LOCK OUT MECHANISM FROM ENGAGING. IN ORDER TO START CAR ,THE IGNITION SWITCH HAS TO MANUALLY ENGAGED BY STICKING FINGER UNDERNEATH STEERING COLUMN AND PUSHING THE BUTTON TO RELEASE IGNITION TO START CAR. THIS IS ANOTHER DEFECT THAT GM NEEDS TO ADDRESS IN RECALL NOTICE WITH IGNITION SWITCH PROBLEM. I HAVE TWO SMALL KEYS ON IGNITION KEY RING...VERY LIGHT. THIS PROBLEM IS MORE WIDESPREAD THAN REPORTED AND THE MANUFACTURER NEEDS TO CORRECT THIS FLAW. *TR
CAR SMELLED OF GAS SO I HAD IT CHECKED OUT AND FOUND OUT THAT IT WAS A GAS LEAK. I WENT ONLINE TO SEE HOW MUCH IT WOULD COST TO REPAIR. AS I TYPED IN GAS LEAK IN CAR OF 2007 COBALT HOW MUCH TO FIX, A PAGE CAME UP ON ABOUT HOW MUCH IT WOULD COST AND THEN A IT ALSO AND QUESTIONS AND ANSWER ON THE WEBSITE. ONE OF THE QUESTION WAS THE SAME EXACT QUESTION I WANTED TO ASK SO I OPENED IT AND FOUND OUT THAT IT WAS A RECALL ON THE GAS LEAK ISSUE. I THEN CALLED THE CHEVEY CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE TO INQUIRE ABOUT THE RECALL. THEY SAID THEY WAS NO GAS LEAKEAGE RECALL FOR THE 2007 CHEVY COBALT. I EXPLAINED TO HIM THE ISSUE I HAD WITH MY CAR AND HE WANTED TO TRANSFERE ME TO THE DEALER. I TOLD HIM I SPOKE WITH HIM ALREADY AND HE SAID IT WOULD COST ME ANYWHERE FROM 80-1400 DOLLARS DEPENDING ON WAS THE ISSUE. I SAID ONLINE SAID THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE GAS LEAK ISSUE AND SINCE I BROUGHT MY CAR USED I DON'T KNOW IF IT WAS BROUGHT IN THE STATES THAT HAD THE RECALL. HE ASKED ME FOR A RECALL NUMBER WHICH AT THE TIME I DIDN'T HAVE. I THEN WENT BACK ON LINE TO DO MORE RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT THAT IT DID HAVE A RECALL AND IT SAID THE CHEVY WOULD FIX THE FUEL PUMP MODULE FREE OF CHARGE. THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID # IS 09V149000 AND THE RECALL NUMBER IS 090226. HOW DO I GET THEM TO FIX MY CAR WITHOUT A CHARGE SINCE THERE WAS A RECALL ON FUEL PUMP MODULE OR REINBURST ME FOR THE 550 I HAD TO PAY A MECHANIC TO FIX THE GAS LEAK. I DID CALL THEM FIRST, EXPLAINED AND LET THEM KNOW THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE GAS LEAKAGE ISSUE BUT WAS TOLD THERE WAS NONE AND THE DIAGNOSTIC TO CHECK WHERE THE LEAK IS WOULD BE 116.00. DRIVER INFORMATION CENTER SHOWED MESSAGE: "SERVICE AIRBAG SOON". TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP, TOLD THAT CLOCKSPRING WAS BAD. REPLACED CLOCKSPRING, TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP, TOLD THAT WIRING WAS BAD. REPAIRED WIRING, TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP, TOLD THAT RF AIRBAG SENSOR WAS BAD. AIRBAG SYSTEM HAS BEEN BROKEN FOR NEARLY 2 MONTHS NOW. *TR
BROUGHT 2007 COBALT ON 7/09/14. REPORTED THE PROBLEM OF THE VEHICLE SHUTTING- OFF ON ME AND NO INSPECTION STICKER WAS ON THE CAR 7/10/14. THEY WROTE A WORK ORDER OUT. BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO ARCHER AUTO TO GET WORK PERFORMED AND FOR A INSPECTION STICKER. ARCHER AUTO KEPT MY 2007 COBALT FOR 3 MONTHS. UNTIL I CALLED BBB BUSINESS AND FILED A COMPLAINT. ARCHER AUTO SAID THEY FIX MY VEHICLE BUT DIDN'T. ARCHER AUTO PUT A ILLEGAL INSPECTION STICKER ON IT TO PASS THE EMISSION TEST. ARCHER AUTO RETURNED MY VEHICLE. THEN THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT. BROUGHT IT TO FIRESTONE TO GET FIX. THEN LATER FOUND OUT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE POWER STEERING. THE 2007 COBALT WAS SHUTTING-OFF ON ME AND LOSING ALL POWER..THEN I TOOK IT BACK BECAUSE THEIR WAS ANOTHER RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. THEN ON 9/13/14 THE ENGINE SHUT-OFF ON ME. LOSING ALL POWER , LOCKING THE BRAKES AND POWER STEERING ALSO. I RAN INTO THE BACK OF A VEHICLE AND TOTALED PUT THE 2007 COBALT. *TR
AFTER BEING SICK FROM THE CHEVY COBALT (HEADACHES AND VOMITING) DUE TO THE STRONG FUEL SMELL, I TOOK THE CAR INTO A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP FOR A RECALL OF THE FUEL PUMP MODULAR, AT THE TIME I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS OFF. A FEW WEEKS LATER THE STRONG FUEL SMELL WAS BACK, I THEN TOOK MY CAR TO 2 INDEPENDENT MECHANICS AND ADVANCED AUTO PARTS. ALL 3 SAID THE SAME THING, I HAD A LEAK DUE TO THE FUEL SYSTEM. I WAS TOLD TO JUST TAKE MY CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY'D REPLACE IT FREE OF CHARGE AS IT WAS THEIR FAULT AND A CHEVY ISSUE. I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY, AND ACTED ENCOUNTERING A RUDE AND CONDESCENDING EMPLOYEE I WAS TOLD THEY WOULDN'T FIX MY CAR WHICH HAS A CRACK IN THE FUEL TANK. MY CAR HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT, SO HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN? I LOOKED ONLINE AND THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE RECALL OF THE FUEL PUMP, BUT CHEVY ISN'T DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT. *TR
STARTED TO SMELL GAS FROM MY CAR. HAD TO REPLACE FUEL PUMP WAS LEAKING FUEL. LOOKED UP RECALL FOR FUEL PUMP AFTER FRIEND TOLD ME OF LETTER RECEIVED FOR HER CAR. MY CAR HAS A LOT OF ELECTRICAL SHORTAGES OR JUST DON'T WORK. THE UNLOCK BUTTON ON THE DRIVER SIDE WILL NOT UNLOCK THE REST OF THE DOORS AND THE LOCK BUTTON YOU HAVE TO HIT MULTIPLE TIMES FOR IT TO WORK. I HAVE NO SOUND OUT OF THE SPEAKER IN THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR AND I HAVE REPLACED IT TWICE AND IT JUST CONTINUES TO BLOW. I HAVE NO SOUND WHILE MY TURN SINGLE IS ON. MY PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG IS DISABLED AND I HAVE A WARNING THAT SAYS SERVICE AIR BAG AND THE ICON FOR THE AIRBAG ON MY PANEL. I HAVE HAD IT LOOKED AT AND NOBODY CAN SEEM TO DETERMINE WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. THE SOUND ON MY RADIO FADES IN AND OUT AND THE BUTTON TO TURN THE HEAT ON FOR REAR DEFROST, AIR CONDITIONER AND THE ONE TO CIRCULATE THE CAR ONLY WORKED WHEN THEY WANT TO. AND EVERY SINCE I HAD THE IGNITION AND THOSE RECALLS FIXED THE BUTTONS ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY STEERING WHEEL (INFO, RESET BUTTONS) ONLY WORK OCCASIONALLY. *TR

2007 CHEVROLET COBALT. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE REPAIRS AND REQUESTS REIMBURSEMENT. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE STARTED SMOKING, AS SHE WAS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET. SHE STOPPED TO A GAS STATION, AND HAD THE VEHICLE INSPECTED. THE MECHANIC, INFORMED HER THERE WAS NO OIL IN THE ENGINE. ALSO, THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOOR LOCKS WERE NOT WORKING. THE DOOR LOCK SWITCH WAS REPLACED.

I AM WRITING ABOUT THE RECALL FOR THE 2007 CHEVY COBALT THAT I OWN. PLASTIC PARTS CONNECTED TO THE FUEL PUMP, COULD CRACK ESPECIALLY IF EXPOSED TO HIGH TEMPERATURES, AND IF THE CRACK GETS LARGE ENOUGH, FUEL COULD LEAK OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND CAUSE A FIRE. I AM CONCERNED BECAUSE THIS IS A REGIONAL RECALL, AND ONLY COVERS 07 COBALT?S ORIGINALLY SOLD, OR CURRENTLY REGISTERED IN AZ, CA, FL, NV, OR TX, BECAUSE GM SAYS ITS WARRANTY DATA INDICATES THAT THE PROBLEM IS FAR MORE COMMON IN HOT-WEATHER STATES. I BOUGHT MY COBALT BRAND NEW IN 07 FROM A MI DEALER AND IMMEDIATELY DROVE IT TO EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE CA, IN THE MOJAVE DESERT. THIS IS ONE OF THE HOTTEST PLACES IN AMERICA. MY PLASTIC FUEL PUMP HAS BEEN EXPOSED TO HIGHER TEMPERATURES THAN MOST COBALT?S ANYWHERE, YET I AM NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THE SAFETY RECALL BECAUSE IT WAS NOT ORIGINALLY SOLD OR REGISTERED IN CA. THIS IS A SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS OVERSIGHT. WITH THE SAFETY RECALL, ALL RECALLED VEHICLES MUST BE REPAIRED, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER A PROBLEM HAS APPEARED, AND THERE IS NO TIME LIMIT ON THE REPAIR, AND THAT IS WHAT I SHOULD BE ENTITLED TO. IF I TAKE MY COBALT TO THE DEALER UNDER THE ?SPECIAL COVERAGE? LETTER THAT I RECEIVED, I MAY NOT LEAVE WITH A REPLACEMENT FUEL PUMP, AND THEY MAY CHARGE ME FOR THE INSPECTION. PLUS, THIS ?SPECIAL COVERAGE? IS ONLY GOOD FOR A LIMITED TIME, SO IF MY CAR SURVIVES, I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS MYSELF. WHY WOULD YOU GIVE A FREE REPLACEMENT FUEL PUMP TO A PERSON WHO BOUGHT A COBALT IN CA AND MOVED TO MI, WHERE THEY ARE PROBABLY NOT IN ANY DANGER OF A FIRE. BUT NOT TO A PERSON WHO BOUGHT IN MI, NOW LIVES IN CA AND HAS THE DANGER OF A FIRE. DON?T ALLOW GM TO IGNORE VEHICLES LIKE MINE WHEN THEY GET THESE SELECTIVE GEOGRAPHICAL RECALLS. I CALLED GM CUSTOMER SERVICE TWICE, BUT THEY DON'T SEEM VERY INTERESTED IN THIS PREDICAMENT. FOR MY SAFETY, I WANT MY FUEL PUMP REPLACED FOR FREE. *TR
GOING OUT OF DRIVEWAY THE FRONT STRUTS SOUND LIKE THEY BOTTOM OUT. TOOK TO A CERTIFIED MACH. AND STRUTS WERE LEAKS OIL AND GAS. REPLACED THEM COST 559.00 . I AM HAVING MORE PROBLEMS WITH THE BACK SHOCKS I THINK WHEN YOU GO OVER A ROUGH PLACE IN THE ROAD IT SOUNDS LIKE THE BOTTOM IS FALLING OUT. CAN NOT AFFORD TO GO BACK TO MACH. NOW . NO WARRANT LEFT BUT CAN NOT GET A HOLD OF ANY ONE TO TALK TO ABOUT THIS PROBLEM THE PLACE WHERE I BOUGHT MY CAR WILL NOT HONOR THERE PREVIOUS CUSTOMERS BECAUSE THEY WENT UNDER A NEW OWNER. THE SECURITY LOCKS AND POWER STEERING LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED AT ALL TIMES. IN ADDITION, THE ENGINE STALLED. THE FAILURES RECURRED DAILY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.

RECENTLY MY 2007 COBALT THAT I HAVE ONLY HAD FOR ABOUT A YEAR STARTED TWITCHING OUT ON THE DASHBOARD. I STARTED THE CAR TO FIND THE GAUGES FLUTTERING, THE SECURITY SYSTEM LIGHT CAME ON, IT FLASHED POWER STEERING AND LOW FUEL ( CAR HAS FULL TANK) AS WELL AS CHECK ENGINE. I PULLED IT INTO TO DRIVE WHERE IT CLUNKED HARD AND THERE WAS A CLICKING SOUND COMING FROM THE SHIFTER AS WELL AS THE POWER STEERING WAS OUT. I DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY CABLES AND IT RESET THE COMPUTER WITH NO PROBLEMS THUS FAR. THE CAR HAS BEEN OK FOR THE LAST DAY AND A HALF UNTIL TODAY WHEN VERY QUICKLY THE POWER STEERING LIGHT FLASHED AND WENT OFF.THE DRIVER SIDE SPEAKER STOPPED WORKING BUT FLASHES ON RANDOMLY AS WELL AS THE RADIO BUTTONS DON'T WORK FROM TIME TO TIME. I NOTICED A LOT OF RECALLS AND SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH OTHER PEOPLES VEHICLES. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT IS CAUSING THIS ELECTRICAL ISSUES AND HAVE THEM FIXED, I FEEL MY SAFETY IS AT RISK, ESPECIALLY IF THE POWER STEERING SHUTS OFF AGAIN, THIS TIME WHILE I AM DRIVING.

THIS MAKES THE CAR UNSAFE TO DRIVE ON THE ROADS IN CANADA LET ALONE ANYWHERE ELSE, AND AFTER HEARING THIS REPORT AND READING FORUMS ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THIS ISSUE, I WANTED TO BRING THIS TO YOUR ATTENTION AS THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT CHEVROLET NEEDS TO FIX. RESTARTING THE CAR TURNED OFF THE WARNING LIGHT AND CAR DROVE FINE. TWO WEEKS LATER THE INCIDENT HAPPENED AGAIN WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY; AGAIN RESTARTING THE CAR SOLVED THE ISSUE. THE POWER STEERING RECALL WAS PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE A WEEK AFTER THE SECOND INCIDENT. A MONTH LATER, THE INCIDENT OCCURRED AGAIN, WHILE BRAKING. SEVERAL MINUTES LATER THE GAUGES STARTED GOING UP AND DOWN AND THE INFORMATION DISPLAY SHUT OFF. RESTARTING THE CAR DID NOT CLEAR THE WARNING, AND CAR JERKED WITH CHANGES IN TACHOMETER. RESTARTING THE CAR A FEW HOURS LATER CLEARED THE WARNING. CAR WAS BROUGHT TO A MECHANIC THE NEXT MORNING, AND THE INCIDENT COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED NOR DID THE COMPUTER READ AN ERROR OCCURRING. THE ERROR RECURRED MOMENTS AFTER LEAVING, AND WAS BROUGHT BACK TO MECHANIC WHO STATED THE FRONT LIGHTS WERE ALSO TURNING ON AND OFF. RESTARTING THE CAR SEVERAL TIMES CLEARED THE WARNING, BUT INFORMATION DISPLAY NO LONGER TURNS ON PROPERLY. THE MOST RECENT FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,500 MILES. *JS
VEHICLE WAS RECALLED AROUND 2010 FOR STEERING AND FIXED. SINCE THEN NUMEROUS ELECTRICAL FAILURES, POWER BRAKES, AND STEERING FAILURES HAVE HAPPENED. VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN DEALER AND NUMEROUS OTHER SHOPS OVER THE YEARS FOR SAME PROBLEMS. CHEVY DEALER (KERRY CHEVROLET IN ALEXANDRIA KENTUCKY), WHERE CAR WAS BOUGHT KEPT SAYING THEY DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG. EVEN AFTER HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS SPENT TO FIX, PROBLEMS EVENTUALLY CAME BACK ( ELECTRICAL FAILURE, GAUGES FLUTTERING, RADIO FLASHING, STEERING LOCK, POWER BRAKE FAILURE). THIS PAST WEEKEND, GAUGES STARTED FLUTTERING, STEERING LOCKED UP WHILE DRIVING AND CAR WENT INTO A SPIN RUNNING OFF THE ROAD. CHEVROLET DEALER HAS ALWAYS PASSED ALL THESE THINGS OFF AS NOT THEIR PROBLEM. I WOULD LIKE ANY INFO ON WHAT CAN BE DONE ABOUT THIS. WE ARE NOW AFRAID TO HAVE VEHICLE FIXED AGAIN AND DRIVE IT FEARING STEERING MAY LOCK WHILE DRIVING AT A FASTER SPEED. I'VE OWNED MY COBALT FOR A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AND IT IS AT 75,657 MILES. SO FAR I HAVE REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP, WHICH IS NOW COVERED BY THE RECALL, BUT I DIDN'T HAVE A CERTIFIED CHEVY DEALERSHIP REPLACE THE PART SO IT ISN'T REIMBURSABLE. NOW THE FUEL FEED PIPE HAS A LEAK AND SPRAYS FUEL ON THE ENGINE AND ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS TO THE BACKSIDE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING. I AM NOT SURE WHAT WOULD CAUSE THIS TO LEAK AS IT DOESN'T RUB AGAINST ANYTHING NOR IS IT LEAKING ON THE UNDER SIDE WHERE ROAD DAMAGE COULD HAVE OCCURRED. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WITH THE CODE 0410. ON FRIDAY I TOOK MY CAR TO A SHOP BECAUSE MY CAR STARTED TO SMELL LIKE ELECTRICAL WIRES WERE BURNING AND THAT IS WHEN I NOTICED THE MY ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. WHEN THE SHOP CHECKED IT HAD A CODE FOR 0410. I LOOKED THIS CODE UP AND I HAD SAID THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS CODE BUT I NOTICED THAT MY CAR WAS NOT ON THIS LIST.

A WIRE HARNESS FAILED IN THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG/SEAT BELT WHICH WOULD LEAVE THE AIR BAG DISABLED. WHEN TAKEN TO A MECHANIC TO GET FIXED WE WERE INFORMED A WHOLE NEW SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY WHICH INCLUDED THE HARNESS HAD TO BE ORDERED FROM A DEALER TO BE REPLACED TO FIX THE PROBLEM. HE THEN INFORMED US THE NEW FACTORY OEM HARNESS AND ASSEMBLY WAS DELIVERED WITH NEW ROUTING INSTRUCTIONS TO PREVENT THE HARNESS FROM BEING DAMAGED AGAIN. THEN INDICATES TO ME THE COMPANY KNOWS OF THE POTENTIONALLY DEADLY ISSUE YET FAILS TO RECALL IT.
