TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET COBALT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE CHECK ENGINE, POWER STEERING OFF, AND CHANGE OIL WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. ADDITIONALLY, THE INSTRUMENT GAUGES FLUCTUATED. THE OWNER CONNECTED A DIAGNOSTIC READER TO THE VEHICLE WHICH INDICATED THAT THE CONTROL MODULE WAS DEFECTIVE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 187,701.
POWER STEERING LIGHT APPEARS ON DASH RANDOMLY WHEN GOING SLOW SPEEDS AND THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT. I HAVE TO TURN OFF THE CAR AND TURN IT BACK ON THE GET THE POWER STEERING TO COME BACK ON. THIS CAN OFTEN REPEAT ITSELF SEVERAL TIMES. IT HAS NEVER OCCURRED AT HIGH SPEEDS, MOSTLY OCCURS IN PARKING LOTS WHEN TURNING. I AM AWARE OF A RECALL FROM GM REGARDING THIS BUT MY VIN SAYS IT DOES NOT APPLY. THIS DOESN'T MAKE SENSE TO ME GIVEN MY SYMPTOMS ARE THE SAME AS WHAT THE RECALL DESCRIBES AND MY YEAR MODEL IS AFFECTED (2010 CHEVY COBALT).
LOST STERLING FOR SHORT DISTANCE STEERING LIGHT CAME ON. REGAINED CONTROL AFTER THAT.CAR WAS IN MY DRIVE WAY
STEERING WHEEL HAS EXCESSIVE PLAY WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS. LOUD GRINDING SOUND WITH ALARM. ALMOST UNABLE TO CONTROL. WHEN STATIONARY STEERING PLAY EXCESSIVE IN BOTH DIRECTIONS. AIRBAG LIGHT STATES AIRBAG IS OFF. CONTROL ARMS REPLACED 2 WEEK BEFORE INCIDENT. WARNING LIGHT HAS BEEN ON SINCE REPAIRING OF CONTROL ARMS. DEALING CONTACTED MORE THAN TWICE REGARDING PROBLEMS.
2010 COBALT IS LEAKING FUEL BEHIND DRIVERS SEAT ON GROUND. MECHANIC SAID FUEL LINE IS RUSTED AND THEY HAVE SEEN THIS ON THIS CAR MANY TIMES. NO WARNING FROM THE IN-VEHICLE SYSTEM. CAR STILL RUNS, BUT TAKES A LITTLE LONGER TO START. SEEM DANGEROUS.
STEERING WHEEL RANDOMLY GETS TIGHT TO TURN. CONCERNED ABOUT SAFETY AND STEERING GOING OUT. I'M AWARE OF A STEERING ISSUE RECALL ON CHEVY COBALT.
The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who informed the contact that there was a fuel leak due to corrosion in the polymer blocks that attached the fuel lines. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Action Number: PE20011 (Fuel System, Other). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
SMELLED STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE WHILE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN GARAGE. . UPON INSPECTION FOUND CONSIDERABLE FUEL LEAK. CAUSE WAS STEEL FUEL LINE CORRODED IN THE VICINITY OF DRIVERS SIDE REAR WHEEL ALONG FRAME RAIL. WAS ABLE TO REPAIR RUSTED FUEL LINE. IT WILL NEED A COMPLETE NEW LINE AT LATER DATE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET COBALT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL FUEL ODOR COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON INSPECTION, HE BECAME AWARE THAT THE FUEL LINES WERE LEAKING DUE TO SEVERE RUST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 110,000.
YESTERDAY MORNING I WENT OUT TO WARM UP THE CAR BEFORE HEADING OUT AND NOTICED A GOOD PUDDLE OF WATER UNDER MY CAR. I SMELLED THE FLUID AND FOUND IT TO BE ANTIFREEZE. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK MY CAR TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC WHO FOUND IT TO BE A LEAK IN THE TRANSMISSION COOLING LINE. BEING ADVISED TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR BECAUSE IT WAS BROKEN IN THE FACTORY JOINT, WHERE THE LINE IS LIKE WELDED TOGETHER DURING MANUFACTURING. I GOT HOME AND RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM ONLINE AND WAS SHOCKED AT THE NUMBER OF RESULTS DESCRIBING MY VERY PROBLEM. I CAN'T EVEN COUNT HOW MANY DESCRIBE THE SAME SCENARIO, GOING OUT AFTER THE HARDEST FREEZE, WATER PUDDLE UNDER THE CAR WITH ANTIFREEZE IN IT AND TRIP TO SHOP, DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION COOLING LINE! AS THOUGH ALL THESE OTHER PEOPLE WERE LIVING MY LIFE AT THAT MOMENT.I JUST BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE 2 MONTHS AGO AND HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEM AFTER PROBLEM, BUT THEY WERE MINOR COMPARED TO THIS! IT IS GOING TO COST ME CLOSE TO $300.00 TO FIX THIS VERY, VERY COMMON PROBLEM RIGHT HERE AT CHRISTMAS WITH 2 CHILDREN TO PROVIDE FOR. SEVERAL OF CUSTOMERS WHO REPORTED THE SAME PROBLEM DID SAY THE DEALERSHIP FIXED THEIR PROBLEM AT NO CHARGE BECAUSE IT WAS A COMMON PROBLEM IN POOR MANUFACTURING OF THIS PART! I CAN ONLY HOPE I GET SO LUCKY. OR THAT THE NHTSA PICKS THIS UP AND PUTS A RECALL ON THIS VERY DEFECTIVE PRODUCT!
FUEL LINES RUSTED AND CAUSING FUEL TO DRIP BY REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE ONCE FUEL PUMP TURNS ON.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET COBALT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS AT TIRE REPAIR SHOP, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED OF A FUEL LEAK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THE FUEL LINES WERE RUSTED AND LEAKING AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED OF A TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAK. THE FUEL LINES AND TRANSMISSION FLUID LINES WERE ALSO REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,381.
I JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR..2010 CHEVY COBALT WITH 176,000 MILES TWO WEEKS AGO WITH ALL OF THE MONEY THAT I HAD. I NOTICED THAT IT HAD A DEALERS TAG, BUT HE WANTED TO MEET ME AT A STORE AND CLAIMED THAT THE CAR WAS PERFECT.DAY TWO IT STALLED & HAS CONTINUED TO RANDOMLY STALL & WOULDN'T START TIL THE 3RD TRY. I TRIED, BUT IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTACT THE SELLER. AUTOZONE SAID IT HAD 17 CODES, BUT COULD JUST BE THE C20? SENSOR. THEN LAST NIGHT IT WOULD START, ACCELERATING TO ABOUT 5 MPH,THEN STALL & I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED HOME FROM A BUSY AREA, AND NOW IT WON'T TURN OVER OR START AT ALL. IM A GRANDMOTHER ON MY OWN WITH A PART TIME JOB AND HAVE NO MONEY LEFT FOR REPAIRS OR TO START ALL OVER. I'M HOPING THERE'S A RECALL THAT COULD HELP.I DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIND THIS MAN AS THE TITLE HAD ANOTHER PERSONS NAME ON IT, NOT THAT IT WOULD DO ANY GOOD.
DRIVING ON HIWAY START TO SHAKING. LOOSING POWER AND SHUTTOFF. AND STEERING WHEEL HARD TO DRIVE OFTEN. DASH BOARD SHOWING ICONOS ALL TIME.
FUEL ODOR AND SPOTTING ON GROUND NEAR REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE. ACTIVE LEAKING WHEN DRIVING AND WHEN CAR IS PARKED.
THERE WAS A FUEL LEAK ON MY CAR. THE SAME DAY THAT I DROPPED MY CAR OFF AT THE DEALERSHIP ANOTHER PERSON WAS THERE WITH THE SAME CAR & THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM. I FEEL AS THO IT MAY NOT HAVE BEEN A COINCIDENCE & PROBABLY SHOULD BE LOOKED IN TO. I NOTICED THE PROBLEM A FEW DAYS BEFORE TAKING IT TO THE SHOP. I HAD NO MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH MY CAR BEFORE THIS ISSUE.
COBALT 2010 SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING IN THE PM THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN WITH 3 PASSENGERS IN THE CAR. MY FAMILY WERE VERY UPSET AND SHAKEN.
AT FIRST IT WAS HESITANT TO STRT. IT DID STRT AND I WENT ON MY WAY. GOT TO MY DESTINATION TURNED THE CAR OFF. SMELLED GAS FUMES INSIDE THE CAR. WENT TO START AGAIN AND WAS HESITANT AT FIRST AND WAS ON MY WAY. GOT HOME AND TURNED THE CAR OFF. SMELL OF FUMES. LOOKED UNDER CAR. WAS LEAKING ON DRIVERS SIDE BY BACK TIRE. PUDDLE OF GAS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BALE CHEVROLET (13101 CHENAL PKWY, LITTLE ROCK, AR 72211), TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE RUBBER CUPPING BY THE FUEL LINE CONNECTION WAS CORRODED, AND THAT THE FUEL LINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ADDITIONALLY, THE METAL FUEL FRAME AND THE POLYMER BLOCK NEXT TO THE EXHAUST PIPE AND MUFFLER WERE ALSO CORRODED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SUBJECTED TO A RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 113,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET COBALT. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED OUTSIDE HIS HOME, THE CONTACT SMELLED FUEL FUMES INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT NOTICED A FUEL LEAK NEAR THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE. THE CONTACT CALLED EDWARDS CHEVROLET BUICK GMC CADILLAC (LOCATED AT 3400 SOUTH EXPY, COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA 51501, (712) 366-9400) AND AN APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED FOR NOVEMBER 6, 2019. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.
HIT A DEER ON THE FREEWAY GOING 70 MPH & TOTALED CAR BUT NONE OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED.
GAS LINE WAS LEAKING. HAS BEEN OVER 2 WEEKS AND PART IS STILL BACKORDERED FOR MANY ADDITIONAL ORDERS FOR THE SAME PART. IF THIS MANY GAS LINES ARE ALL LEAKING AND IN NEED OF THIS PART, IT WARRANTS AN INVESTIGATION AS TO WHY THEY ARE ALL LEAKING AT THE SAME TIME. TO DATE THERE IS STILL NOT EVEN A TIMELINE AS TO THE PROPOSED DATE THAT A PART WILL BE AVAILABLE LEADING ME TO BELIEVE THERE ARE THOUSANDS TO MILLIONS OF CARS IN THE SAME PREDICAMENT.
TRACTION, ENGINE AND WHEELS SENSOR LIGHT ON. HARD SHIFTING. CAR SHAKES WHEN BRAKING. ENGINE RUNS ROUGH AND SKIPS WHEN IDLING. I'VE HAD BRAKES REPLACED AND SPARK PLUGS. HAVE HAD ALL RECALLS REPAIRED.
I WAS DRIVING WHEN THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED. I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT NIGHT.THE DASHBOARD WAS MALFUNCTIONING AND THE GAS METER AS WELL AS THE SPEEDOMETER WAS MOVING UP AND DOWN FRANTICALLY. THE DASHBOARD INDICATED A POWER STEERING PROBLEM AND I WAS UNABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR.

FUEL LINE LEAKING AT THE REAR OF VEHICLE IN FRONT OF DRIVER SIDE REAR TIRE, APPEARS TO BE NEAR A CLIP. STRONG FUEL SMELL.
IN JULY / AUGUST OF 2019 I WAS SMELLING GASOLINE WHILE MY VEHICLE WAS PARKED. I EVENTUALLY NOTICED A LARGE PUDDLE OF GASOLINE UNDER THE PARKED VEHICLE. AFTER CALLING MY STEPFATHER WHO IS A MECHANIC I TOOK THE CAR TO A LOCAL SHOP WHO CONFIRMED I HAD A CORRODED FUEL FEED LINE THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND COMPLETED THE REPAIR FOR ME.
AS I WAS DRIVING IN THE HIGHWAY 70 MPH CAR ABRUPTLY LOSS ENGINE POWER TO ALMOST A COMPLETE STOP CAR WOULD NOT GO OVER 10 MPH CAR KEEPS HAVING SAME SAFETY PROBLEM I NUMEROUS TIMES ENGINE LOSSES POWER WHILE IM DRIVING I REPLACED 02 SENSORS BATTERY AND OTHERS CAR STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM IT IS A RECURRENT PROBLEM IN THIS CAR THAT NO ONE SEEMS TO FIX PUTS THE DRIVER IN A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN YOU ARE IN THE HIGH WAY AND DANGEROUSLY THE CAR LOSSES ENGINE POWER ALL OF THE SUDDEN.
PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSIONWILL NOT SHIFT INTO ANY GEARS, AFTER HAVING A HOLE IN TRANSMISSION PAN,SO REPLACE THE PAN AND FILTER AND GASKET AND PUT NEW TRANSMISSION FLUID IN,NOW CAR WILL NOT SHIFT INTO ANY GEARS. ITS LIKE IT LOCKED ME OUT OF THE TRANSMISSION ALL TOGETHER. THIS MAKES THE 2ND TRANSMISSION THAT WAS PUT INTO MY CAR I HAD IT DONE A COUPLE YEARS AGO AND IT'S BACK TO THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN, IT'S COST ME 2,000 LAST TIME FOR A REBUILT TRANSMISSION THAT SHOULD LAST AT LEAST 4-5 YEARS ONLY LASTED FOR 2 YEARS,THE AUTO PLACE SAID IT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE PUMP SOLENOID AND THE SHIFT SOLENOID,THAT THEY ARE RIGED TO BURN OUT THESE COMPONENTS. AND IT'S PARKED IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE. IT HAPPEN ON HIGHWAY AND ON CITY STREETS. VERY SCARY, I AM DISABLED AND DEPEN ON MY CAR TO GO TO LUNG DOCTOR. I AM ON A VERY TIGHT FIXED INCOME AND CAN'T AFFORD ANOTHER 2,000. FOR THIS PROBLEM. I HAD TO LET MY CAR SIT LAST TIME FOR 6 MONTHS IN ORDER TO PAY THE TRANSMISSION OFF BEFORE THEY LET ME HAVE MY CAR BACK. I HAVE JUST LOST 4 FAMILY MEMBERS IN OUR FAMILY, IN THE PAST 4 MONTHS AND ONLY US 3 GIRLS ARE LEFT.WE HAD TO PAY FOR ALL 4 FURNEALS.I CAN'T AFFORD THIS. *TR

THE CHECK ENGINE, POWER STEERING, AND TRACTION WARNING INDICATORS WERE ILLUMINATED AND THE RPM GAUGE INCREASED ERRATICALLY EVEN WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. IN ADDITION, THE POWER STEERING SEIZED AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, THE FAILURES WENT AWAY; HOWEVER, THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED HARSHLY WHEN CHANGING GEARS. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE ALWAYS DISPLAYED AS EMPTY EVEN THOUGH FUEL WAS PRESENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 154,000.
I GOT MY COBALT IN ENDING 2010-2011 AND NEVER RECEIVED A SINGLE RECALL ON MY COBALT ,AND NOW A FRIEND TOLD ME OF THIS SIGHT THERE IS SO MANY RECALLS THAT NEED TO BE DONE ON MY CAR AND BEGINNING WITH THE TRANSMISSION ,IT RUNS GRATE IT JUST DOESN'T KNOW WHAT GEAR IT IS IN. ALSO MY DOOR LOCKS UNLOCK BY THEM SELF ITS LIKE I HAVE A SPIRIT IN THE CAR (VERY UN SAFE).NOT TO MENTION WHEN THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE IT WOULD SLIP INTO NEUTRAL ON ITS OWN, SAME WITH IF YOUR IN REVERSE IT WILL SLIP INTO NEUTRAL. PLEASE NOTIFY ME NON OF THE PAST RECALLS WAS EVER DONE ON MY CAR, I WANT TO HAVE A LIST AND PUT MY CAR INTO A CHEVY SHOP AND HAVE ALL RECALLS FIXED, I WAS NEVER NOTIFITYED >AND IVE LIVED IN THE SAME HOUSE THAT I OWN FOR 10+ YEARS>IT WILL NOT RECONIZE WHAT GEAR IT IS IN>PERIOD.
I SEE ALL OVER THE PLACE WHERE MANY OTHERS HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH CHEVY COBALTS. THE FUEL LINE LEAKS AND THEN THEY WANT TO CHARGE YOU $700 TO REPLACE. IF SO MANY HAVE THIS PROBLEM, WHY ISN'T THERE A RECALL AND IT'S ALL IN THE SAME SPOT (DRIVER SIDE BY REAR TIRE)
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET COBALT. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE JERKED, LUNGED FORWARD, LOST POWER, AND THE POWER TRAIN WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO HEARD ABNORMAL NOISES COMING FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT VEERED TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD TO CHECK FOR LEAKS; HOWEVER, NONE WERE FOUND. THE CONTACT DROVE HOME AT VERY LOW SPEEDS AND PARKED THE VEHICLE. MCCLUSKEY AUTOMOTIVE (8525 READING RD, CINCINNATI, OH 45215, (513) 421-1111) WAS CONTACTED AND A DIAGNOSTIC APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 96,000.
FUEL LINE RUSTED ABOVE THE DRIVER SIDE WHEEL AND BURST WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. FUEL PUMP SHORTED OUT AND DIED WHILE DRIVING A FEW MONTHS LATER.
WHILE STATIONARY AFTER DRIVING A STRONG FUEL ODOR IS PRESENT AROUND THE VEHICLE AND FUEL IS DRIPPING TO THE GROUND FROM IN FRONT OF THE REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE. THE SAME CONDITION IS COMMON ON EARLIER YEARS OF THIS MAKE AND MODEL.
WHEN VEHICLE IS PARKED I NOTICE STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE. CHECKED UNDER THE CAR AND NOTICED FLUID LEAKING WHAT APPEARS TO BE GASOLINE. LEAK IS LOCATED ON DRIVERS SIDE NEAR THE REAR TIRE. ALSO IT APPEARS THAT A WORN FUEL LINE IS WHAT IS CAUSING THE LEAK
ONCE CAR WARMS UP, WHILE DRIVING, THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION DOES NOT SHIFT PAST SECOND (2ND) GEAR, AND WILL ALLOW RED LINING WITHOUT SHIFTING UP A GEAR. WHEN TRYING TO PARK, THE SHIFTER WILL NOT ALLOW SHIFTING INTO PARK, AND THE VEHICLE WILL PULL AWAY UNDER THE POWER OF ITS OWN IDLE IF THE PARKING BRAKE IS NOT APPLIED, MAKING LEAVING THE VEHICLE UNATTENDED VERY DANGEROUS. WHEN TRYING TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK SHIFTER WILL BECOME STUCK IN THE PARKING GEAR. THE LIGHT ILLUMINATING AND INDICATING THE GEAR IN WHICH THE SHIFTER IS IN POSITION OF GOES OUT, MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO KNOW IF THE VEHICLE IS ACTUALLY IN PARK OR REVERSE ESPECIALLY COUPLED WITH THE SHIFTER NOT GOING FULLY INTO THE PARKING GEAR. WHEN THE SHIFTER DOESN'T QUITE MOVE INTO THE PARKING GEAR IT CAUSES THE DOORS TO STAY LOCKED AND SOMETIMES MAKES THE MANUAL LOCKS DIFFICULT TO USE IN ORDER TO EXIT THE VEHICLE, IT MAKES THE ELECTRONIC LOCKS COMPLETELY UNUSABLE. ALSO, WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD CHEVY NOT PUT A ENGINE TEMPERATURE GAUGE IN THE DASH CLUSTER? HOW ARE DRIVERS SUPPOSED TO KNOW IF THE ENGINE IS OVERHEATING, WAIT UNTIL THE ENGINE BLOWS UP WITH THE DRIVER TRAPPED INSIDE???
AS I EXITED THE VEHICLE, I SMELLED FUEL AND NOTICED A WET SPOT ON THE GROUND. I LOOKED UNDERNEATH ON THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE CAR. THE FUEL LINE HAD WORN THROUGH WHERE A SHACKLE WAS HOLDING THE FUEL LINE TO THE FRAME OF THE CAR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET COBALT. WHILE REVERSING IN A PARKING LOT, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN AND THE POWER STEERING ASSIST AND AIR BAG WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER AND RPM GAUGES DROPPED LOW WHILE IN TRAFFIC. WHEN THE CONTACT TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE, THE VEHICLE DROVE NORMALLY. WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO STEER A SECOND TIME. THE POWER STEERING ASSIST AND AIR BAG WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
I PULLED INTO JIFFY LUBE AND THEY SAID THEY SMELLED GAS. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND THEY SAID GAS WAS LEAKING FROM FUEL LINES. THEY INSTALLED NEW FUEL LINES. I PAID $744.15 ON JUNE 6TH 2019 AND STILL HAVE RECEIPT. I DON'T KNOW WHEN OR WHERE IT STARTED LEAKING. I HEARD THERE MAY BE A RECALL AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW TO GET REIMBURSED. THANKS.

THE TIRE MANUFACTURER REQUESTED THE CONTACT BRING THE VEHICLE TO AN UNKNOWN COOPER TIRE DEALER. THE DEALER DENIED SERVICE, STATED THAT THE TIRE WAS NOT DEFECTIVE, AND BLAMED THE CONTACT. THE TIRE MANUFACTURER DENIED THAT THE TIRE WAS DEFECTIVE AND BLAMED THE CONTACT. THE TIRE AND VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE AND VIN WERE UNKNOWN.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS ENGAGED THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND WHILE THE RPM DROPPED TO ZERO. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE READ EMPTY, WHEN THE FUEL TANK WAS FILLED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM ALSO FAILED. THE TPMS PROVIDED INACCURATE TIRE PRESSURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN MECHANIC WHO PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST BUT WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE A FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHY I WAS GOING THROUGH GAS SO QUICKLY. I DID REALIZE THAT THE CAR WAS LEAKING SOMETHING BUT UNABLE TO TAKE IN FOR SERVICING RIGHT AWAY. THE CAR STARTED TO LEAK APPOX. 3-4 DAYS PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT. I LEFT MY FIANCE IN THE RUNNING CAR WHILE I RAN INTO A STORE AND A FEW MINUTES LATER HE CAME AND GOT ME SAYING WE HAVE TO LEAVE RIGHT NOW! HE HAD ME PUT MY ITEMS DOWN, AND RUSHED ME OUT OF THE STORE! AS SOON AS WE GET OUTSIDE HE EXPLAINED SEVERAL PEOPLE STOPPED FREAKING THAT THE CAR IS LEAKING GAS EVERYWHERE! THERE WAS A HUGE PUDDLE OF GAS UNDER REAR DRIVERSIDE TIRE! ALL YOU COULD SMELL WAS GASOLINE! WE LEFT PANICKED AND ACTUALLY RAN OUT OF GAS IN TRAFFIC! THANK GOD I HAD AN EMERGENCY ALMOST FULL GAS CAN IN TRUNK. SO IN THE MIDDLE OF 6PM TRAFFIC WE ARE TRYING TO POUR EVERY LITTLE DROP OF GAS INTO THE CAR, WHILE CARS ARE HONKING AND STARING AND SWERVING AROUND US INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC.THIS COULD OF BEEN A HORRIBLE AVOIDABLE PROBLEM. SEVERAL SEVERAL SEVERAL BAD OUTCOMES COULD OF HAPPENED. COME ON CHEVY THIS IS DEFINITELY A MANUFACTURING DEFECT- RECALL THIS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS INJURED OR WORSE! NOW NOT ONLY DID I HAVE TO GO THROUGH THEART HORRIBLE SCARY SITUATION, BUT NOW I HAVE NO VEHICLE FOR MY FAMILY! WE ARE CLOSING ON OUR HOME AND GETTING READY TO MOVE TO ANOTHER STATE. I AM GOING TO HAVE TO PART FOR A RENTAL CAR AND THESE REPAIRS! APPROXIMATELY I'M LOOKING AT $1000 OUT OF MY POCKET FOR SOMETHING THAT ONCE AGAIN SEEMS TO BE A MANUFACTURER DEFECT ON THIS CAR!!! WITH CAR RUNNING (PARKED) FUEL IS LEAKING HEAVILY FROM REAR OF VEHICLE DRIVERS SIDE. FUEL LEAK APPEARS TO BE COMING FROM FUEL LINES/GAS TANK AREA.
I PUT MY CHEVY COBALT 2010 INTO REVERSE AND THEN INTO DRIVE. WITH DOING SO MY POWER STEERING SHOWED UP IN THE DISPLAY. I PUT MY CAR INTO PARK THEN TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND THEN BACK ON AND WAS ABLE TO PUT INTO DRIVE WITH NO PROBLEMS. THIS HAS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES NOW AND THE STEERING IS VERY HARD EVERY TIME IT DOES THIS.

MY POWER STEERING NOTICE CAME ON AND I HAD NO POWER STEERING. THERE IS A RECALL 14115 FOR EPS ON 2010 COBALTS. TOOK CAR TO DEALER AND CALLED GENERAL MOTORS. THEY DID NOT HONOR THE RECALL TO REPLACE MY EPS MOTOR. THEY SAID MY VIN SHOWS IT IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. WHY IS MY ELECTRIC POWER STEERING MOTOR NOT UNDER THIS RECALL? IT FAILED. I WAS PARKED WHEN THE LIGHT CAME ON AND HAD NO POWER STEERING. WHY IS MY CAR EXCLUDED? GM NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED CONCERNING THIS MATTER!
