Tire size 245/45R20 I purchased a set a 4 Cooper Discoverer H/T Plus tires for my truck in 2022. I haven't driven a lot of miles on them due to the fact that I live on the Island of Oahu, in Honolulu, Hawaii and have a lot of thread life left. I noticed that the sidewalls on 2 of 4 tires are cracking and separating. I removed them from the vehicle due to the risk of tire blowout and injury in the event of an accident. I've emailed Cooper tires for information and warranty resolution and have yet had a reply.
There apparently was fuel dripping onto the starter and soaking the starter so when we went to start the truck. It caught on fire And my truck is a total loss
The frame on my 2004 Chevy Colorado has rusted/rotted to the point that it snapped, causing the bed to rub against the cab. Mechanic said it is not fixable.
Frame rust
Ignition safety module known as pass lock security. This causes my vehicle not to start and give a code and a light on the dash for the Pass Lock security. The vehicle was fine then I went into a store came out and put the key in the ignition, the lights on the dash came on but it would not crank. This is very hazardous cause It could happen while you’re driving anytime, which could cause the vehicle to go into security mode and turn vehicle off making it very dangerous for passengers in vehicle. This is a problem with other Chevy Colorado's when I research this problem.
Frame of my vehicle is rotting away causing to fail inspection. Just finding out that Toyota did a recall on one of there pick up models replacing their frame due rotting frames that may be a safety factor if it gets into an accident. Does Chevy Colorado have a recall as such? Just had my frame recently welded on a piece of heavy metal to reinforce my frame in order to pass a safety inspection
One day, after I turned my truck off, I noticed that my taillights and overhead cargo light remained on. Key was out, truck was off, but the lights stayed on. So for the time being, I disconnected the battery. I brought it to a mechanic, who ran the codes that came back that the rear driver turn signal was high, the rear passenger turn signal was high, and the overhead cargo light was high. He checked the entire truck for a short, replaced the taillights, replaced the fuse box, replaced the body control module, and numerous other attempts at a repair, with no success. I was without a vehicle for many months, since I can't afford the absurd prices of the current vehicle market and was hopeful it could be fixed. Reading through some other complaints/online threads, this seems like a fairly common problem with these vehicles. Electrical issues that affect my ability to use a turn signal are a huge safety concern and this needs to be addressed.
Body Control Module, BCM. Controls everything. Air bag can deploy, breaks can lock up. Mine, the hazards were staying on. Chevy Dealer says they are on National Back Order and GM is canceling those orders after so long placed. “We can get you one from a junk yard for $350 but GM won’t let us properly program them with correct codes, and so many times they won’t take, and I can’t return the part”. My response to GM already and to Congressman Westerman, BBB, and the WH. A part such as the on board computer, SAFETY first, should never come from a junk yard and if GM doesn’t want to supply the part AS we all know they need them for newer cars right now….. You, the NHTSB and all of us are in danger. There is an expiration date on our cars, but we’re not being told. A computer that controls EVERYTHING in a vehicle is more important than a safety belt. Me not wearing it kills me. Me being told by the dealer I could leave my fuses out and put my arm out the window. Boy I hate being a retired SGM, cause I ain’t allowed to put my boot in a six.
Mechanic had the truck on the lift raised up to check the brakes for squeaking and while under the truck the mechanic inspected the frame because he noticed a lot of rust and called me to come look at it and pointed out that the frame has rotted to the point that he should not be driven and could break in half and cause major problems for the safety of the occupants and other drivers on the road. I looked up online if other Colorado owners had the same issue and others have the same problem. I’m am forced to junk this vehicle even though the rest of the truck is in very good condition
I was checking on the common rear cab rust and noticed the frame looked rusted through just in front of the rear wheel suspension mount. I took it to my local mechanic (Bob's Repair of Mayer) and they said it was not safe to drive. It is a complete blindside to me and now I have to find a spare (safe) car to help drive around my newborn and toddler. I am going to attempt to repair the frame as I do not have any other options for vehicles. There were obviously no warnings are notices that about this issue, but it seems to be uncannily common for this generation of Chevrolet vehicles. The truck only has 160,000 miles on it and surface rust on the cab. The vehicle is not drivable and not safe as the frame could give away at any moment.
THE FRAME OF THE TRUCK ROTTED AND IS NO LONGER DRIVEABLE WITHOUT A CHANCE OF AN ACCIDENT. THE PA INSPECTION IS ABOUT TO RUN OUT ALSO AND WILL NOT PASS INPECTION. I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK USED AND JUST PAID IT OFF AND WAS HOPING I WAS CLEAR OF ANY VEHICLE PAYMENTS. AT THIS POINT THERE IS NO WAY I WILL EVEN GET CLOSE TO WHAT I PAID FOR IT AS IT IS ONLY GOOD FOR SCRAP. I AGREE WITH ANOTHER POST I SAW ON HERE THAT SAID IF TOYOTA HAD TO RECALL THEIR VEHICLES FOR THE SAME REASON THEN WHY DOES GM NOT HAVE TO DO THE SAME THING? IT ONLY SEEMS RIGHT. I KNOW THEY HAVE HEARD OF THIS ISSUE BUT ARE JUST TRYING TO BRUSH IT UNDER THE RUG HOPING IT DOESN'T COME UP. HOPING YOU HAVE OUR BACK ON THIS WITH TRYING TO PROTECT THE CONSUMER.
FRAME RUSTED OUT LIKE THE TOYOTAS DID AND IS NO LONGER SAFE TO DRIVE.
VEHICLE HAS 96,800 MILES, AND THE FRAME HAS COMPLETELY RUSTED THROUGH CAUSING THE REAR SUSPENSION TO DETACH FROM THE FRAME, AS WELL AS THE BED TO DETACH FROM THE FRAME. VEHICLE IS NO LONGER ABLE TO BE PUT ON LIFT TO HAVE TIRES ROTATED AS THE FRAME DISINTEGRATES UPON CONTACT. THIS IS A VERY WELL KNOWN PROBLEM, AND I AM CURIOUS WHY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT HAS NOT FORCED GM TO RECALL THESE VEHICLES LIKE TOYOTA WAS FORCED TO DO WITH THEIR IDENTICAL SITUATION. DO YOUR JOBS, AND HOLD THESE CORPORATIONS ACCOUNTABLE FOR CHEAP WORKMANSHIP.
I SOLD THIS TRUCK LAST SPRING WITH 243,829 ON THE ODOMETER, IT IS NOW FOR SALE WITH 155,000 ON IT
2004 CHEVY COLORADO THE WHOLE FRAME UNDERNEATH IS ROTTED OUT AND UNSAFE. I DON'T HAVE MONEY OR INCOME OR CREDIT TO GET A NEW VEHICLE. I WANT TO KNOW HOW CHEVY COULD ALLOW SUCH A TRAGIC MISTAKE ON THE METAL USED FOR THIS VEHICLE? I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON WHO HAS HAD THIS ISSUE WITH THE FRAMES ON THESE VEHICLE?. IT IS ALL I HAVE TO DRIVE AND I AM PUTTING CHEVY UNDER WARNING!, THIS IS A DEFECT IN THE METAL YOU HAVE USED. IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO ME OR ANYONE ELSE THEY ARE TO SUE CHEVY. THE FRAME UNDER THE CAB IS RUSTED OUT
I'VE HAD TO REPLACE 2 HEATER BLOWER RESISTORS DUE TO A MELTDOWN, THIS IS A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD AND SHOULD BE PUT ON A RECALL NOTICE. I WAS DRIVING AROUND 40 MPH AT THE TIME .
THE AIRBAGS WERE DEACTIVATED DUE TO THE WIRES BEING DAMAGED THROUGH NORMAL USE OF THE EXTENDED CAB REAR DOOR. A NORMAL MECHANIC SHOP WOULDN'T FIX IT, BECAUSE IT WAS A SAFETY ISSUE, SO TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE CHEVROLET DEALER, WHO CONFIRMED THE PROBLEM, AND HAD TO REPLACE THE WIRING HARNESS IN THAT DOOR.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MAYSE AUTOMOTIVE GROUP (2032 S ELLIOTT AVE, AURORA, MO 65605) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE WIRES RUNNING FROM THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HAD TO BE REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE PARTS FOR THE REPAIR WERE NO LONGER BEING MANUFACTURED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 190,000.
I OWN A 2004 CHEVY COLORADO EXTENDED CAB. THIS TRUCK HAS 110,XXX MILES ON IT. THE PROBLEM IS THE FRAME ON THE VEHICLE, IT BROKE IN 2 PIECES WHERE THE CAB MEETS THE BED. THE FRAME IS COMPLETELY RUSTED AND RUINED. THERE ARE A LOT OF FORUMS ONLINE WITH PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE IN THE SAME SPOT OF THE FRAME. IT IS VERY UNSETTLING KNOWING EVEN IF I DONT DRIVE THIS TRUCK AGAIN ANOTHER CHEVY COLORADO ON THE HIGHWAY COULD RIP IN 2 PEICES CAUSING AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THE FAULTY FRAME ON THESE TRUCKS. THIS IS AN OBVIOUS ISSUE THAT CHEVY WILL NOT ADDRESS. WHEN MY FRAME BROKE INTO 2 PIECES INWARD DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THE BED CAME FREE ON THE DRIVER SIDE AND SMASHED IN THE BACK CORNER OF MY CAB. LUCKILY I WAS NOT ON THE HIGH WAY BECAUSE IF I WAS IT WOULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. I HOPE CHEVY MAKES RIGHT BY THIS.
FRAME HAS RUSTED OUT TO THE POINT THAT IT IS UNREPAIRABLE, VEHICLE HAS 92000 MILES GOOD CONDITION EVERYWHERE ELSE. THIS IS QUITE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH COLORADOS. IT WILL NOT PASS SAFETY STANDARDS, QUITE HONESTLY IT IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION THAT MANY PEOPLE ARE EXPERIENCING WITH THESE VEHICLES. IT SEEMS ODD THAT TOYOTA WAS FORCED TO REPLACE FRAMES DUE TO POOR QUALITY AND RUST ISSUES YET THESE COLORADOS ARE JUST AS BAD.

WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS AT AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, THE MECHANIC FOUND THAT THE FRAME WAS SEVERELY CORRODED AND THE CORROSION EXTENDED TO THE VEHICLE'S SIDE WALL. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO BE DRIVEN. THE MANFUACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
AFTER TAKING MY 2004 COLORADO TO A MECHANIC FOR A BRAKE REPAIR HE INFORMED ME I HAD RUST SO BAD ON THE FRAME IT CREATED HOLE AND HE RECOMMENDED I NO LONGER DRIVE MY TRUCK ALSO HE CANNOT REPAIR THE BRAKES AND THE ABS SENSOR BECAUSE OF THE RUST. I PURCHASE THE TRUCK 2 1/2 YEARS AGO FROM A CHEVY DEALER AND STILL OWE MONEY ON A VEHICLE I CAN'T DRIVE. ONLY 135428 MILES.
THE FRAME HAS RUST HOLES THROUGH IT THAT SUDDENLY APPEARED THE LAST THREE MONTHS. THE DEALER THAT HAVE ALWAYS GONE TO SAYS THE CAR CANNOT BE WORKED ON. EVERYTHING LOOKS LIKE PERFECT CONDITION EXCEPT THE FRAME HAS RUSTED AWAY.

THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 189,000.
THE FRAME HAS ALOT OF RUST PLUS THE FRAME IS CRACKED AND THE BACK,THE ENGINE LIGHT IS ON YOU CAN NOT GET A RESPONSE FROM THE PLUGING UNIT. WHE YOU TO CHECK THE PROBLEM.

TRUCK HAS 25,000 MILES. I DO NOT DRIVE IT OFTEN BECAUSE FUEL ECONOMY HAS NEVER BEEN AS ADVERTISED, NO BETTER THAN 15 MPG. WHEN IT WORKED, IT WAS FUN TO DRIVE. NOW FAILS INSPECTION BECAUSE THE FRAME IS SEVERELY RUSTED, MY TRUCK IS NOW UNSAFE. NOT COST EFFECTIVE TO REPAIR, I HAVE TO SELL AS SCRAP. RADIO REPLACED ONCE. BLOWER WORKS BUT VERY NOISY. ABS SENSORS WERE REPLACED AFTER 10,000 MILES AND NEED REPLACEMENT AGAIN. I HAVE REPLACED INNER AND OUTER TIE RODS AFTER 21K MILES. I HAVE REPLACED GAS TANK GASKET AND EXTERIOR CAB BRAKE LIGHT. ALSO REPLACED TRANSMISSION SHIFTER CABLE DUE TO RUST. TUBE ON RACK AND PINION RUSTED AND REPLACED. TINY COOLANT LEAK THAT I CANT FIND. ALL I CAN REMEMBER. MOST FAULTY VEHICLE I HAVE EVER OWNED. NEVER BUY A FIRST YEAR MODEL OF ANY VEHICLE.

UPON INSPECTION, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE SUBFRAME WAS SEVERELY RUSTED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER AND LOCAL DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. ENTIRE FRAME OF TRUCK RUSTED AND CRACKED THROUGH. WHEN LOOKING ON THE INTERNET THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MULTIPLE 2004 COLORADOS. VEHICLE WAS PARKED WHEN I NOTICED THE FRAME HANGING IN THE BACK.
THE FRAME ON THE PASSENGER SIDE JUST UNDER THE EXTENDED CAN IS CRACKED, AND THE FRAME JUST BEHIND EXTENDED CAN DRIVER SIDE IS COMPLETELY ROTTED OUT TO THE POINT THE LEAF SPRING MOUNT IS COLLAPSING INTO THE FRAME.

WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL OR ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE, THE ABS, STABILITY CONTROL, AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNING INDICATORS INTERMITTENTLY ILLUMINATED AND FLASHED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT A FAILURE CODE COULD NOT BE FOUND. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
INOTICED FRAME AT LEAF SPRINGS COMPLETELY ROTTED. 100000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE.
NOTICED SEVERELY RUSTED FRAME ON 2004 CHEVY COLORADO JUST IN FRONT OF LEAF SPRINGS BOTH SIDES OF VEHICLE. DRIVER SIDE MORE SEVERE AS PART HAS ROLLED INTO FRAME. PICTURES ATTACHED.
MY 2004 COLORADO FRAME IS RUST THROUGH NEAR THE DRIVE SIDE LEAF SPRING CAUSING THE SPRING TO ROLL INWARD TOWARD THE CENTER OF THE TRUCK.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO CONFIRMED THE FRAME FAILURE AND STATED THAT IT WAS NOT ABLE TO BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 138,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
A 2004 CHEVY COLORADO Z71 OFF-ROAD PACKAGE EXTENDED CAB WITH 76000 MILES AND THE UNDERNEATH OF THE TRUCK IS IS COMPLETELY ROTTED OUT MY FRAME BROKE RATE AT THE BACK OF THE EXTENDED CAB IN THE OTHER SIDE HAS A GAPING HOLE IN IT THE BODIES IN EXCELLENT SHAPE NO RUST ON IT.
MY GAS TANK FELL BECAUSE MY FRAME IS RUSTING AND WON'T HOLD IT THIS IS MY WORK TRUCK AND I REALLY NEED IT FIXED ITS VERY DANGEROUS MY FRAME HAS VERY BAD RUST PROBLEM
NOTICED THE FRAME IS ROTTING OUT AND NEEDS TO GET FIXED BEFORE IT CAUSES A SERIOUS ACCIDENT AND POSSIBLY DEATH .IT WAS SITTING STILL WHEN NOTICE
THE FRAME CRACKED BETWEEN THE CAB AND THE BED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE TOP OF BED IS NOW HITTING AGAINST THE CAB AT THE TOP. I CALLED GM TWICE, AND THEY WILL DO NOTHING ABOUT IT. THEY TOLD ME TO TAKE IT IN TO A DEALER FOR INSPECTION. I TOLD THEM I DON'T FEEL IT'S SAFE TO DRIVE. THEY SAID TO TOW IT IN AT MY COST. I'M NOT PAYING FOR SOMETHING THAT IS OBVIOUS. THE TRUCK NEEDS A NEW FRAME AND THEY KNOW IT. I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM, JUST READ ALL THE BLOGS ON THE INTERNET.
IN OCTOBER 2015, I RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM GM INDICATING A FAULT WITH THE AIRBAGS. THE LETTER INDICATED THAT THEY WOULD COVER THE REPAIRS IF THE YEARS HAD NOT EXCEEDED 10 PAST MANUFACTURE, WHICH, ON A 2004 MODEL THIS WAS ALREADY A DISQUALIFIER. THEY ALSO INDICATED NOT IN EXCESS OF 120K MILES, AGAIN A DISQUALIFIER ON MY VEHICLE WITH 150K MILES. ADDITIONALLY, WHEN I SHOWED THE LETTER TO THE LOCAL DEALER, AND THEY RAN A VEHICLE REPORT, THE RECALL WAS NOT SHOWN. FOR ALL INTENT THEN, GM IS DISREGARDING THE FAULTY AIRBAGS ON MY VEHICLE. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT WHEN THE INDICATOR IS ON, THE AIRBAGS ARE NOT FUNCTIONING. I WOULD THINK THAT AN AIRBAG ISSUE, WITH A KNOWN CAUSE BY THE MANUFACTURER, SHOULD BE A LIFETIME RECALL. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THE TRUCK. ORIGINALLY, THIS WAS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM WHEN USING THE LEFT REAR DOOR, BUT IT IS NO LONGER SO. I AM SUBMITTING THIS REPORT TODAY, AS I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS LONG STANDING ISSUE WILL NEVER BE SATISFIED BY GM.
I CURRENTLY OWN A 2004 CHEVROLET COLORADO MILES ARE 107,650. MY TRUCK IS IN VERY GOOD TO EXCELLENT SHAPE, I TAKE PRIDE IN MY VEHICLES. THE ISSUE I HAVE IS MY FRAME IS ROTTEN AND CRACKED AT THE LEAF SPRING HANGERS, MUCH TO MY SURPRISE WHEN I JACKED MY TRUCK UP TO CHANGE OVER TIRES AND THE REAR AXLE STAYED ON THE GROUND. IM VERY GRATEFUL WE CAUGHT THIS BEFORE THE RIGHT SIDE BROKE AWAY LIKE THE LEFT SIDE DID. I DO LIVE IN MAINE AND THEY USE PRODUCTS ON THE ROADS FOR ICE, BUT MY FUEL AND BRAKE LINES ARE IN VERY GOOD SERVICEABLE CONDITION, AS IS MOST EVERYTHING UNDER THE TRUCK INCLUDING THE BED. I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR GUIDANCE AND STUMBLED ONTO SOME "FORUMS" THAT STATE FIRST GEN COLORADO THIS IS COMMON. I AM NOT A FORUM MEMBER, NOR DO I BELIEVE IN "INTERNET SHAMING" I AM LOYAL GM CUSTOMER, BUT I IT IS VERY DISAPPOINTING THAT I HAVE A RELATIVELY LOW MILEAGE TRUCK WITH A GREAT DRIVE TRAIN, AND NO EXTERIOR RUST THAT IS COMPLETELY UNSAFE AND UNUSABLE.IT SOUNDS LIKE A SIMILAR ISSUE THAT TOYOTA HAD IVE HAD AND DO CURRENTLY HAVE OLDER GM VEHICLES WITH MORE MILES AND THE FRAMES ARE IN EXCELLENT SHAPE. IS GM/CHEVROLET DOING ANYTHING TO HELP CONSUMERS?
THE TRUCK HAS A VERY ROTTED FRAME ON IT. SEEMS TO BE OF POOR QUALITY AND WITH ONLY120,000 MILES AND THE BODY IS IN SUPER CONDITION THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING.. IS THERE ANY THING TO BE DONE,WILL CHEVROLET DO ANYTHING AT ALL TO HELP? ARE WE ALL STUCK WITH THIS PROBLEM AS OTHERS ON LINE HAVE COMPLAINED OF THIS. THANKS.

WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS AT AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SUBFRAME OF THE VEHICLE WAS FRACTURED ON BOTH SIDES OF THE REAR AXLES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MC CLINTON CHEVROLET (1325 7TH ST, PARKERSBURG, WV 26101, (304) 422-6501) WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE SUBFRAME WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 183,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET COLORADO. WHILE THE GEAR SHIFTER WAS PLACED IN REVERSE, THE SHIFT LINKAGE FAILED AND THE SHIFT CABLE SNAPPED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WEST CHEVROLET AT (865) 970-9378 (3450 ALCOA HWY, ALCOA, TN 37701) WHERE THE SHIFT CABLE WAS REPLACED. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, THE DEALER NOTICED THAT THE FRAME WAS RUSTED AND CORRODED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND THAT THE FRAME NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,440.
REAR DOORS LOCKS CONTINUE TO LOCK AND UNLOCK WHILE IN MOTION. SAFETY HAZZARD TO BOTH CHILDREN PERSONAL SITTING IN REAR SEATS. CHILD COULD OPEN DOOR DURING TRAVELING AND FALL OUT. THIS SERIOUS PROBLEM MAY CAUSE THE DEATH AN INDIVIDUAL CHILD OR PERSON IF THE DOOR HANDLE IS PULLED AND THE REAR DOOR OPENS WHILE IN MOTION? THIS IS HAPPENING ALL OF THE TIME WHILE IN MOTION? IT HAS HAPPENED EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. DAY OR NIGHT.

MID-STATE CHEVROLET BUICK OF SUTTON WEST VIRGINIA (1947 SUTTON LANE, 26601) WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 167,000. *LN
IN 2016, I PURCHASED A USED 2004 CHEVY COLORADO. THIS YEAR (2017) MY DAUGHTER NOTICED EXCESSIVE RUST ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. UPON THE NEXT OIL CHANGE, WE WERE TOLD THAT THE FRAME WAS COMPLETELY ROTTED AND CRACKED IN SEVERAL PLACES. WE WERE THEN REFERRED TO A WELDING COMPANY, WHO SAID THAT IT COULD BE REPAIRED FOR $4,000. WE GOT A SECOND OPINION, WHO SAID THAT THIS REPAIR WAS NOT WORTH IT. WE WERE THEN REFERRED TO A PLACE THAT WOULD COMPLETELY REPLACE THE FRAME, BUT ARE WAITING ON A PRICE.
