TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET COLORADO. WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE ABS LIGHT ILLUMINATED. IF THE VEHICLE EXCEEDS 25 MPH, THE ABS AND BRAKE LIGHTS ILLUMINATE. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 77,890. UPDATED 04-07-08 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN THE ABS MALFUNCTIONS, IT FEELS AS THOUGH HE IS STEPPING ON THE GAS AND BRAKE SIMUTANOUSLY.
2004 CHEVROLET COLORADO DRIVESHAFT AND REAR DIFFERENTIAL FAILED. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE DRIVESHAFT FELL OUT WHILE BACKING OUT OF HIS DRIVEWAY AND THEN THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL FAILED. HE ALSO STATED THAT GM DENIED THE CLAIM. *KB THE CONSUMER STATED AFTER THE REPAIRS WERE MADE, THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE VEHICLE WHEN THE GEAR WAS IN REVERSE. THE DEALER STATED THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AS A RESULT OF THE DRIVETRAIN FAILURE. *JB
BLOWER FAN WORKS INTERMITTENTLY. FINALLY STOPPED WORKING ON SETTINGS 1,2 AND 3, WILL ONLY WORK ON SETTING 4. REPLACED RESISTER 1ST FROM DEALER, THE CLIMATE SWITCH PANEL. FINALLY THE FAN WOULDN'T RUN @ ALL, TOOK TO LOCAL MECHANIC REPLACED WIRING HARNESS & FAN MOTOR. TOOK ABOUT A YEAR TO GET TRUCK FULLY REPAIRED. *TR
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
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET COLORADO. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 20 TO 50 MPH, THE ABS ACTIVATED WITHOUT THE BRAKE PEDAL BEING DEPRESSED. THE ABS WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE BROADCAST SYSTEM INDICATED THAT THERE WAS AN ABS ERROR. THE DEALER WOULD NOT REPAIR THE SYSTEM BECAUSE THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE ABS HAS BEEN DEACTIVATED. THE ABS IS A PART OF THE HUB AND SENSOR, AND MUST BE REPLACED AS ONE UNIT. THE RING IS LOCATED BETWEEN A THIN PIECE OF METAL AND WATER IS ABLE TO ENTER BECAUSE THERE IS NOTHING BLOCKING THE OPEN SPACE NEAR THE SENSOR. THE CONTACT IS AWARE OF THE DESIGN FLAW AND THE SAFETY RISK INVOLVED. THE RING DISLODGED AND CAUSED THE ABS TO ACTUATE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 71,000. THIS IS PERTAINING A CHEVY 2004 COLORADO LS PICK-UP TRUCK WITH BLACK PAINT. I'M NOTICING THE PAINT IS BLISTERING. THIS IS NOT ONLY HAPPENING ON THE HOOD, BUT ALSO ALONG THE SIDE PANELS. WHEN THE PAINT COMES OFF, IT IS GOING TO BARE METAL. *TR
THE CHEVY COLORADO EXTENDED CAB MODEL HAS A HISTORY OF THE WIRE BREAKING IN THE SAME LOCATION CAUSING THE AIR BAG (SRS) LIGHT TO REMAIN ON. I BELIEVE THIS MANUFACTURING DEFECT MAY NOT ACTIVATE THE SRS IN THE EVENT OF A SIDE IMPACT. THE WIRE IN QUESTION IS LOCATED INSIDE A RUBBER BOOT BETWEEN THE REAR DOORS AND THE MAIN CAB BODY. IT SEEMS IF YOU USE THE REAR DOORS IT WILL DEVELOP A BROKEN WIRE. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET COLORADO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKES SQUEAK AND SQUEAL AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE DEALER REPLACED THE BRAKES WITH METALLIC BRAKES ON AUGUST 29, 2008 AND THE NOISE STOPPED TEMPORARILY. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN FOR AN ALIGNMENT ON DECEMBER 31, 2007, THE SQUEAKING AND SQUEALING RECURRED. ON JULY 3, 2008, THE BRAKES ON ALL FOUR WHEELS WERE INSPECTED, ADJUSTED, AND CLEANED. ON JULY 7, 2008, THE FRONT BRAKE PADS WERE REPLACED WITH CERAMIC BRAKES DUE TO THE SQUEAKING NOISE. ON JULY 9, 2008, THE FRONT ROTORS WERE REPLACED AT NO CHARGE. CURRENTLY, THE DEALER WANTS TO REPLACE THE FRONT BRAKE SYSTEM FOR $1,500. THE DEALER WILL NOT REPLACE THE BRAKES THEMSELVES BECAUSE THERE IS A DISCLAIMER IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL REGARDING THE BRAKES SQUEAKING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT BECAUSE THE BRAKES DID NOT SQUEAK FOR A PERIOD OF TIME WHEN THE ORIGINAL CERAMIC TIRES WERE ON THE VEHICLE, THE METALLIC BRAKES SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN PLACED ON THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THEY CAUSED THE FAILURE. IN ADDITION, THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT ROTOR WAS WARPED AND RUSTED FROM THE WRONG BRAKE SHOES BEING PLACED ON THE VEHICLE, AND THE PASSENGER ROTOR HAS DEEP GROOVES. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET COLORADO. WHILE DRIVING AND/OR ACCELERATING, THE CONTACT HEARD A CLICKING SOUND. HE STATED THAT THE VEHICLE DROVE AND STOPPED NORMALLY. I NOTICED MY FLOOR WAS SOAKING WET AFTER A LONG RAIN... I CHECKED THE WINDOWS AND DOORS TO MAKE SURE THEY WERE NOT LEFT OPEN...MY TRUCK LEAKS SOMEWHERE FROM WITHIN. MY BUDDY SAID IT IS PROBABLY THE FIREWALL... NOW MY TRUCK SMELLS LIKE MILDEW AND CONTINUES TO LEAK, IM AFRAID IT MIGHT MOLD AND CAUSE ME OR MY FAMILY TO GET SICK. ELECTRICAL, HEATER BLOWER ONLY OPERATES ON HIGH, 1 2 AND 3 DOES NOT, NEW CIRCUIT BOARD INSTALLED, FAILED AGAIN, HAT TO STICK A PAPERCLIP IN HARNESS TO GET IT TO RUN CORRECTLY. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET COLORADO. THE CONTACT OBSERVED THE FRONT TIRES OF HIS VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THEY DISPLAYED A LOT OF WEAR. THE DEALER DETERMINED THAT THE TWO FRONT TIRES WERE UNDER RECALL. ALL FOUR TIRES WERE REPLACED. ONE YEAR LATER, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE TIRES WERE WEARING AGAIN AND HE FELT VIBRATIONS WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE TIRES NEEDED TO BE ROTATED AND THE FRONT END ALIGNMENT WAS CHECKED. A YEAR LATER, THE FAILURES RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP AND INSPECTED BY A TECHNICIAN, WHO DETERMINED THAT THE FRONT SUSPENSION WAS FAILING. NO REPAIRS HAVE BEEN MADE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CALLED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT A SERVICE MANAGER WOULD CALL HIM BACK. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 18,400.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET COLORADO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN HE OPENED THE TAILGATE, THE CABLE FAILED AND THE TAILGATE WOULD NOT REMAIN OPEN. THE DEALER DID NOT INSPECT THE VEHICLE, HOWEVER, THEY STATED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE CABLE. THERE WAS NO RECALL LISTED ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE. AS OF AUGUST 3, 2007, THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 75,000. FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS DON'T WORK FIXED TWICE NOW SAYING THE FUSE BOX IS THE PROBLEM. BLOWER MOTOR DOES NOT WORK AFTER 3 BLOWER MOTOR RESISTORS A NEW BLOWER MOTORS AND CONNECTORS. SOMETIMES THE RADIO DOES NOT WORK. THE TRUCK HAS STALLED DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY 3 TIMES ALL LOSS OF POWER. *TR
MY 2004 CHEVROLET COLORADO HAS HAD REPEATED A RECURRING PROBLEM WHERE IT WILL NOT RESPOND TO THE THROTTLE AT ALL WHILE DRIVING. IN ALL CASES THIS HAS HAPPENED WHEN THE ENGINE IS WARMING UP FROM A COMPLETE COLD START IN THE MORNING. WHILE DRIVING AT 45-50 MILES PER HOUR THE ENGINE WILL DROP TO IDLE SPEED AND THERE IS NO RESPONSE TO THROTTLE INPUT. THE DEALER HAS HAD THE VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE ON THIS ISSUE 5 TIMES NOW AND CAN NOTHING WRONG. THERE ARE NO CODES SET IN THE COMPUTER AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NEVER COMES ON. THE PROBLEM WILL CLEAR ITSELF AFTER 20 TO 30 SECONDS AND MAY NOT OCCUR AGAIN FOR WEEKS. *TR
AIRBAG LIGHT IS CONTINUALLY ON. WHEN RUNNING, DRIVING, AT ALL TIMES.
UNEXPLAINED FAILURE OF WINDOWS AND DOOR LOCKS. DRIVER'S WINDOW WILL NOT GO DOWN. DOOR LOCKS ARE INOPERABLE. WILL NOT LOCK WITH THE REMOTE OR WITH INTERIOR BUTTON. CANNOT SECURE THE VEHICLE ONCE THIS HAPPENS. HAVE TAKEN IT TO BE SERVICED 10 TIMES ,AND THEY CANNOT LOCATE THE PROBLEM. NO PARTS REPLACED BECAUSE IT IS WORKING WHEN TAKEN TO BE SERVICED. *AK
ON A 2004 COLORADO PU, THE HVAC BLOWER CONTROL HAS FAILED TWICE SINCE END OF WARRANTY REQUIRING EXPENSIVE OUT OF POCKET PAYMENTS. ONE DEALER EVEN EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM WAS RELATED TO "OVERHEATING A RESISTOR" OR SOME SUCH TECHNICAL BLATHER. IN ANY CASE, WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURS THE HVAC FAN ONLY BLOWS HIGH OR NOT AT ALL. A TOTAL OF OVER $500 WAS PAID ON TWO FAILURES. *TR

EXHAUST MANIFOLD COMPLETELY CRACKED. AT THE CYLINDER CLOSET TO THE FIREWALL, THE MANIFOLD COMPLETELY CRACKED ALL AROUND AND ALL THE WAY THROUGH. STRANGE BECAUSE RELATIVELY NEW AND THE MANIFOLD WAS STEEL. *AK
TL* - THE CONTACT STATED THAT ON 01/10/07 WHILE DRIVING HIS 2004 CHEVROLET COLORADO AT 55 MPH, HIS PASSENGER SIDE REAR TIRE LOCKED UP. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE FELT A VIBRATION AND HEARD A SQUEAKING NOISE AND LOST CONTROL OF THE STEERING. THE CONTACT STATED HE WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE MECHANIC TOLD THE CONTACT THAT HE HAD A SPARE TIRE ON THE VEHICLE AND THAT IT CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO LOCK UP BECAUSE IT SMALLER THAN THE OTHER TIRES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRE ON HIS VEHICLE WAS A SPARE THAT CAME WITH THE VEHICLE WHEN HE PURCHASED IT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THIS WAS A FULL SIZE SPARE THAT CAME WITH THE VEHICLE. *NM
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON ACCOMPANIED BY AN ENGINE MISFIRE DUE TO WEAK EXHAUST VALVE SPRINGS WHICH MUST BE REPLACED. RECENTLY GMC ISSUED A BULLETIN TO THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENTS ADVISING MECHANICS ON THE ISSUE, AND RECOGNIZING THE PROBLEM WITH THE VALVE SPRINGS AND HOW TO FIX IT, BUT WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT. ACCORDING TO THE BULLETIN THIS PROBLEM OCCURS IN ALL CHEVROLET COLORADOS 2004-2006, GMC CANYONS 2004-2006, AND THE HUMMER H3. THE ESTIMATED COST OF REPAIR IS ABOUT $2000, QUOTED BY THE DEALER MECHANIC. NOT ONLY DOES THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME ON AND STAY ON, IT ALSO CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO STALL WHILE IN OPERATION. THE TRUCK SHUT DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION WHILE DRIVING. ADDITIONALLY YOU WILL HAVE DIFFICULTY WHEN YOU START YOUR CAR, IT WILL MISFIRE AND YOU MAY HAVE TO RESTART AGAIN. THIS WILL BEGIN TO HAPPEN REGULARLY UNTIL YOU DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. I WENT TO DIFFERENT DEALERS TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEMS BECAUSE DIFFERENT MECHANICS COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THE LAST STEP WAS A DEALER MECHANIC THAT HAD JUST RECEIVED THE ABOVE MENTIONED BULLETIN. THEY DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM WITH THE VALVE SPRINGS, INSTEAD THEY RESET THE COMPUTER TO STOP THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FROM OCCURRING. THE MISFIRING AND STALLING CONTINUED TO HAPPEN.*AK
FOR THE PAST YEAR MY 2004 COLORADO HAS INTERMITTENTLY FAILED TO START WHEN IGNITION KEY IS FIRST TURNED TO START POSITION. BY TURNING THE KEY OFF AND THAN ON AGAIN IT WILL START. IT DOES THIS ONCE IN WHILE, BUT ALWAYS SEEMS TO START THE SECOND OR THIRD TURN OF THE KEY TO THE START POSITION. TWICE OVER THE LAST TWO YEARS IT WOULDN'T START AT ALL AND I HAD TO LET IT SIT FOR TEN MINUTES OR SO, THAN TRY AGAIN, AT WHICH TIME IT STARTED. I BELIEVE THE PROBLEM IS CAUSED BY THE PASS LOCK SECURITY SYSTEM. BECAUSE ITS OUT OF WARRANTY I HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING ABOUT IT. *TR

DT*: THE CONTACT STATED ALTHOUGH THERE WERE NO PREVIOUS PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKE LIGHTS, THERE WAS A NHTSA RECALL, #06V139000 ON THE VEHICLE REGARDING THE EXTERIOR LIGHTING:BRAKE LIGHTS:SWITCH. THE PARTS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WERE NOT AVAILABLE AT TWO LOCAL DEALERSHIPS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT ALERTED.
2004 COLORADO 2WD HAVE HAD TO REPLACE FRONT TIRES FOR WEAR ON INSIDE TREADS 2 OR 3 TIMES SINCE THE TRUCK HAS BEEN PURCHASED. WAS TOLD THIS WAS A CHEVROLET PROBLEM, AS A RESULT OF THE INCORRECT FRONT SUM TOE. TIRES ON BACK LAST 4 TIMES AS LONG AS ONES ON FRONT. HAVE HAD FRONT END LOOKED AT SEVERAL TIMES. NOW IT IS VERY NOTICEABLE IN THE DRIVING OF THE TRUCK. TRUCK HAS NOT BEEN OFF THE HIGHWAY SINCE PURCHASE. STRICTLY PAVEMENT USE. NO WRECKS OR HITS TO CAUSE FRONT END DAMAGE. *NM

DRIVING FROM DEALER TO MY HOUSE AFTER BUYING TRUCK THE BRAKE LIGHTS, WIPERS, HORN, CRUISE CONTROL ALL STOPPED WORKING AT SAME TIME. *JB

DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE BRAKE LAMP SWITCH WAS DEFECTIVE CAUSING BOTH BRAKE LIGHTS TO FAIL. THERE WAS A RECALL # 06V139000 REGARDING THE EXTERIOR LIGHTING:BRAKE LIGHTS:SWITCH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL DUE TO THE VIN. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN TO A SERVICE DEALER TO VERIFY THE DEFECT OR ADDRESS THE ISSUE.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET COLORADO CREW CAB. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO STOP THE VEHICLE FROM 45 MPH THE BRAKES BEGAN GRINDING METAL TO METAL. THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED TWICE. WHEN APPROACHING A TRAFFIC SIGNAL THE CONTACT HAD TO PUMP THE BRAKES IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE AS THE ABS, AND STATED THAT THE REPAIR COULD BE PERFORMED IF THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER WARRANTY. AFTER HAVING THE REAR LOWER BRAKE PRESSURE REPAIRED THE ABS BECAME INOPERABLE. THE RIGHT REAR END WOULD SLIDE, GRIND, AND PRODUCE A SCREETCHING NOISE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE CAUSED A HIT AND RUN ACCIDENT. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER TO REQUEST FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR THE REPAIR OF THE VEHICLE, BUT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. THE CONTACT RECEIVED RECALL # 06V139000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 36,800 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,000.*AK
VEHICLES CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON THEN WENT OFF AFTER A COUPLE OF DAYS. VEHICLE IDLE DROPPED TO 500 RPMS. THE TRUCK STARTED TO ACT SLUGGISH AND ACTED AS IF IT WOULD SHUT OFF AT IDLE. DURING ACCELERATION THE VEHICLE WAS AGAIN SLUGGISH. TOOK THE TRUCK TO A LOCAL SHOP AND HAD THE CODES RUN. IT CAME BACK AS AN ENGINE LOW RPM CODE. I DON'T RECALL THE ACTUAL CODE NUMBER. HAD THEM DO A MOTOR VACUUM TO CLEAN THE FUEL SYSTEM AND RESET CODE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS GONE AWAY AND HAS NOT COME BACK ON. VEHICLE DOES FROM TIME TO TIME ACT AS IT IS GOING TO BOG DOWN. I THOUGHT THAT I SHOULD SUBMIT THIS COMPLAINT BECAUSE IT SEEMS THERE ARE SEVERAL OTHERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM.*AK

I HAD NEW TIRES INSTALLED ON MY TRUCK. THE ORIGINAL TIRES SEEMED TO WEAR UNEVENLY ON THE INSIDE TREAD. I HAD MY ALIGNMENT CHECKED AND IT WAS GOOD. I HAVE MY TIRES ROTATED EVERY 6000 MILES. THE TECHNICIAN THAT INSPECTED MY VEHICLE SAID THAT THE TIE RODS WERE WORN OUT. HE SAID THAT WAS THE THIRD COLORADO THAT HE HAD SEEN IN THE LAST WEEK WITH WORN TIE RODS. HE SAID THAT THIS SEEMED UNUSUAL TO HIM THAT THEY WOULD WEAR SO FAST. I HAVE BEEN CONTEMPLATING WHETHER TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR OR SEE IF A RECALL IS ISSUED ON THIS VEHICLE. TIE RODS SHOULD NOT WEAR OUT AT 40000 MILES. *AK

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET COLORADO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH WAS REPLACED NUMEROUS TIMES FOR A RECURRING FAILURE. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 09V310000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING: BRAKE LIGHTS: SWITCH). THE DEALER REPLACED THE SWITCH UNDER THE RECALL BUT EVERY 20,000 MILES, THE SWITCH WOULD FAIL AGAIN. THE AC RESISTOR WIRES WERE MELTED, CAUSING THE AIR CONDITIONER TO ONLY OPERATE ON LOW. THE DEALER REPLACED THE WIRING HARNESS AND THE RESISTOR BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE BREAK LIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION BY THE CONTACT, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE AND THE CRUISE CONTROL FAILED TO ENGAGE. THE SERVICE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED, AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE MANUFACTURER THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL #06V139000 DUE TO THE VIN.

SOON AFTER NEW VEHICLE PURCHASE IN 1/04, CRUISE CONTROL PERIODICALLY BECAME INOPERATIVE. I DO KNOW IF THE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE ALSO INOPERATIVE. DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE MALFUNCTION AND DID NOT DIAGNOSE A PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY 5 TIMES OVER THE NEXT 2.5 YEARS. RECENTLY, THE CRUISE CONTROL BECAME INOPERATIVE AGAIN, AS WELL AS THE REAR BRAKE LIGHTS. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND INFORMED THEM THAT A RECALL HAD BEEN ISSUED, THOUGH I HAD NOT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM GM. I PRESENTED THE DEALER WITH A PRINTOUT OF THE NHTSA RECALL INFORMATION. DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR MY VEHICLE, AND SINCE MY WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED, I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR REPAIRS. REPAIR CONSISTED OF REPLACEMENT OF THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH. THE TOTAL COST OF THE REPAIR WAS $175.04. I'M NOT SURE IF THIS HAS ANY CONNECTION, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED JUST PRIOR TO EXPIRATION OF THE WARRANTY. ONE WEEK LATER, AND AFTER EXPIRATION OF THE WARRANTY, THE BATTERY DIED AND REQUIRED REPLACEMENT. *JB

I BOUGHT A 2004 CHEVY COLORADO FEB. 11, 2006 WITH 47,262 MILES ON IT FROM THE LOCAL CHEVY DEALER. IT IS NOW JULY 21, 2006 AND I WILL BE TAKING IT IN TO THE SHOP FOR THE 10TH TIME. SO FAR THIS IS WHAT HAS GONE WRONG: HEAD LIGHT SEAL LEAKING, FRONT GRILL MISSING FACTORY CLIPS, AC FAN HOUSING HAS BAD FACTORY MOLD SO THERE IS A "TICKING" WHEN RUNNING THE AC, AC SWITCH RESISTER WENT OUT AND REPLACED THREE WEEKS AGO HAS NOW GONE BAD AGAIN, ROOF BOWS WERE BENT ENOUGH THAT CAUSED THE ROOF SHEET METAL TO POP UP AND DOWN WHEN WINDOWS WERE DOWN AT HIGHWAY SPEED, REAR FOLD DOWN SEATS HAVE JAMMED AND WILL NOT RELEASE FROM REAR CAB WALL, B-PILAR TRIM WILL NOT STAY ON, I HAD TO REPLACE THE FUEL FILTER AND O2 (OXYGEN) SENSOR TWO MONTHS AGO, AND NOW AS OF THIS DATE, JULY 21, 2006, THE REAR RIGHT PASSENGER WINDOW WILL NOT GO DOWN.
BLOWER MOTOR ON A/C QUIT WORKING ON TRUCK ON SPEEDS 1,2,3 STILL WORKS ON 4, CHECKED ON THE INTERNET AND THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE RESISTOR MODULE THAT CONTROLS THE SPEED OF THE BLOWER. SPOKE TO GM DEALER,AND HE ADVISED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS WITH THE MODULE OVERHEATING AND CAUSING THE PLUG TO MELT AND CAUSE THE RESISTOR PACK TO BECOME INOPERABLE.
