DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH THE VEHICLE STALLED AND WAS COASTED OFF THE ROAD WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, HOWEVER IT WOULD NOT MOVE DUE TO THE ENGINE FLOODING WITH GASOLINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP FOR INSPECTION. THE NUMBER 5 FUEL INJECTOR FAILED, DUMPING FUEL INTO THE OIL. AFTER THE INJECTOR WAS REPLACED THERE WAS A ROD KNOCKING IN THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR FURTHER INSPECTION, WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.
VEHICLE CAUSING EXCESSIVE TREAD WEAR ON INSIDE OF TIRE, EXISTS ON MULTIPLE SETS OF TIRES. TREAD WORN COMPLETELY THROUGH, EXPOSING INNER LAYERS OF TIRE. IF NOT NOTICED WHEN IT WAS THERE WAS A RISK OF COMPLETE FAILURE FOR ALL 4 TIRES. MANUFACTURER REFUSED TO MAKE ADJUSTMENTS TO VEHICLE AFTER FIRST 4 TIRES FAILED (30K MILES), CONTINUES TO REFUSE SERVICE AFTER NEXT 4 SHOWING SAME PROBLEM (15K MILES). *TR
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 65MPH UP AN INCLINE THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO LOOSE POWER. THE NEXT DAY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE THE INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP RESET THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THE PROBLEM HAS NOT RETURNED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET COLORADO. THE BRAKE LIGHTS AND CRUISE CONTROL HAVE BOTH FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND REPAIRED ACCORDING TO RECALL #06V139000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING:BRAKE LIGHTS:SWITCH). THE FAILURE RESURFACED, BUT SHE WAS INELIGIBLE FOR A FREE REMEDY. SHE WAS AWAITING A RESPONSE FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,200.
(1) INTERMITTENT NOISE FROM REAR SUSPENSION: MAY BE RELEVANT (2) WHILE DRIVING AT FREEWAY SPEED ON I-15 SOUTH, NORTH OF SAN DIEGO, CA, HEARD NOISE; MANAGED TO DRIVE TRUCK (2004 CHEVY COLORADO) TO NEAREST EXIT, COASTED TO A STOP. ALL THE WHILE, THE TRUCK VIBRATED VIOLENTLY AND I BARELY AVOIDED CRASHING INTO OTHER VEHICLES. A CHEVY DEALERSHIP LOCATED NEARBY INSPECTED THE TRUCK, DETERMINED THAT REAR RIGHT SIDE LEAF-SPRING BROKE AT EYE AND ENTIRE DRIVETRAIN SUFFERED SUBSEQUENT DAMAGE AS THE TRUCK WAS DRIVEN FOR SEVERAL MILES WITH THE LEAF SPRING BROKEN (3) GM AREA SERVICE MANAGER REFUSED TO COVER THE REPAIR UNDER WARRANTY, STATING THAT "USUAL CAUSE IS IMPACT RELATED". GM AND DEALERSHIP CATEGORICALLY REFUSED TO ADVISE THE OWNER IN WRITING REASON FOR WARRANTY COVERAGE DENIAL. OWNER REQUESTED IN WRITING, BEFORE AUTHORIZING REPAIR, THAT OLD PARTS BE RETURNED FOR THE SPECIFIC PURPOSE OF FAILURE ANALYSIS AS OWNER SUSPECTED MANUFACTURER OR INSTALLATION DEFECT. DEALER PROMISED TO SAVE OLD PARTS BUT WHEN OWNER WAS ADVISED THAT REPAIR WAS COMPLETED ON 5/31/06, THE DEALER ADVISED THAT OLD PARTS WERE LOST. TL* - THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET COLORADO. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 35 TO 4O MPH WHILE ATTEMPTING TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND THE BRAKES MADE A SOUND LIKE METAL GRINDING ON METAL. WHILE COMING TO A STOP IN 2006 SHE HAD TO PUMP THE BRAKES. AS A RESULT ,THERE WAS NO GRINDING ,BUT THE DEALER SAID THE ANTI LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM WAS DEFECTIVE. THE DEALER SAID THAT IF SHE PURCHASED A WARRANTY THEY WOULD REPAIR THE BRAKES AT NO COST TO THE CONTACT. ONCE THE CONTACT REALIZED HOW UNSAFE THE VEHICLE WAS SHE STOPPED USING THE VEHICLE, ANDWAS CURRENTLY DRIVING A RENTAL VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO RECALLS LISTED ON NHTSA WEBSITE RELATED TO THIS INCIDENT. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO CALL THE MANUFACTURER, AND WAS UNSUCCESSFUL WITH HER CURRENT REQUEST TO GAIN FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IN THE REPAIR OF THE VEHICLE. 2004 COLORADO TRUCK STALLED WITHOUT WARNING AT 70 MPH WHILE GOING UP A STEEP INCLINE. *TS THE VEHICLE'S SPEED DROPPED FROM 70 TO 15 MPH WITHIN SECONDS. THE CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO PULL OVER BECAUSE THERE WAS NO SHOULDER. THE CONSUMER LOOKS AT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND NOTICED THAT THE DIC WAS FLASHING REDUCE POWER. THE CONSUMER LATER FOUND OUT THAT IF THE VEHICLE ENCOUNTERS A LITTLE EMISSION PROBLEM IT SHUTS DOWN. THE CONSUMER'S VEHICLE DIDN'T HAVE AN EMISSION PROBLEM BUT A COMPUTER GLITCH. *NM
SOME TIMES, THE CAR WILL NOT START IF THE IGNITION KEY LOCK LIGHT BLINKS. I HAVE TO WAIT TEN MINUTES SO THAT IT STARTS I HAVE TAKING IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY HAVE SAID THAT IT HAS A FAULTY IGNITION HOUSING, OF COURSE THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME A LOT TO FIX IT. I BELIEVE IS A FACTORY DEFECT. MY TRUCK HAS A SALVAGE TITLE, SO THE WARRANTY ON IT WAS VOIDED. I HAVE HEARD OF OTHER CHEVY COLORADO TRUCKS WITH SAME PROBLEM. *TR
I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED TODAY AND THE DRIVER BEHIND ME CAME UP TO MY WINDOW AND TOLD ME THAT I HAD NO BRAKE LIGHTS, NOT EVEN THE CENTER LIGHT. I HAVE ALSO NOTICED THAT I HAVE NO CRUISE CONTROL. THE BULBS ARE NEW. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND ASKED THEM IF THEY HAVE SEEN THIS PROBLEM AND THEY SAID THEY HAVEN'T SEEN IT ON THE COLORADO. I CHECKED THE INTERNET AND FOUND SEVERAL OTHER OWNERS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM, THEY DIRECTED ME TO THE NHTSA WEBSITE WHERE I FOUND THE OTHER COMPLAINTS. I TOLD THEM THAT THERE IS AN INTERNAL INVESTIGATION ON THE MATTER AND THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD LOOK AT THE TRUCK FOR $95 BUT THEY WOULD ONLY FIX THE PROBLEM FOR FREE IS THERE IS A RECALL. THE VEHICLE IS A 2004 CHEVROLET COLORADO. *JB
2004 COLORADO CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH AND BRAKE LIGHTS WAS INOPERABLE. MECHANIC REPLACED THE FAULTY BRAKE SWITCH WHICH TOOK CARE OF THE PROBLEM AT THE TIME. *TS ***NAR*** AFTER THE ABOVE REPAIR THE CONSUMER WAS NOTIFIED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS HAD FAILED AGAIN. HE ALSO NOTICED THAT THE CRUISE CONTROL HAS ALSO CEASED TO FUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TOT HE DEALER TO BE INSPECTED. AGAIN THE PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED AS A FAULTY BRAKE SWITCH. THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD BY ONE OF THE DEALER'S STAFF THAT CORROSION HAD BUILT UP BETWEEN THE CONNECTOR AND SOCKET FOR THE BRAKE SWITCH UNTIL AN ELECTRICAL CURRENT FAILED TO EXIST BETWEEN THE TWO. THE PROBLEM RECURRED TWO MORE TIMES. *NM
NUMEROUS BRAKE PROBLEMS -ABS BRAKE INTERMITTENT. - ABS KICKS IN FOR NO REASON (VEHICLE TO SUDDEN/ABRUPT STOP) - THEN AT OTHER TIMES HARD TO GET VEHICLE TO STOP - HUB(BEARING) AND ABS SENSORS PROBLEM - BRAKES LOCK UP WHEN PARKED - INTERMITTENT ABS FAULT CODES GM WILL NOT ACKNOWLEGE THE DEFECT IN THE SYSTEM. *JS
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS ON ROUGH ROADS THE BRAKES GRAB AND THE VEHICLE SLIDES. THIS HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY. THE DEALER CAN NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM THEREFORE, NO REPAIRS HAVE BEEN MADE.
CHEVY COLORADO I HAD MY TRUCK FOR ABOUT 1 YEAR. I HAD ACTUALLY ALMOST GOT KILLED ON THE HIGHWAY DUE TO THE LIGHTS BEING OUT. *BRAKE LIGHTS* . THIS IS HAPPENING TO MANY PEOPLE I TALK TO. I THINK CHEVY NEEDS TO GET THERE STUFF TOGETHER BEFORE PEOPLE GET KILLED AND HURT OVER A RELAY SWITCH NOT WORKING PROPERLY. *NM
I HAVE A 2004 COLORADO, 4 WHEEL DRIVE, 4 DOOR. 32,000 MILES. DEC 2005 I NOTICED THAT THE INSIDE OF MY FRONT TIRES WERE WORN. I CHECKED THE BACK AND THEY WERE WORN TOO. I HAD JUST HAD THE TRUCK INSPECTED IN SEPT. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND HE GAVE ME A SPEECH ON HOW TO DRIVE MY TRUCK. I REPLACED ALL 4 TIRES IN MAY 2006. THEN AGAIN IN SEPT 2007 AND I NEED NEW AGAIN JAN 2009. SAME PROBLEM AND THE FRONT END WON'T STAY IN ALIGNMENT. THEY KEEP TELLING ME THERE'S NOTHING WRONG. WHEN YOUR FRONT END GOES OUT OF ALIGNMENT A MONTH AFTER IT'S PUT IN THERE'S A PROBLEM! *TR
A FRIEND WHO HAPPENED TO BE DRIVING BEHIND ME MADE ME AWARE OF THE FACT THAT I HAD ABSOLUTELY NO BRAKE LIGHTS. I HAVE NO IDEA AS TO THE LENGTH OF TIME THAT I HAVE BEEN DRIVING AROUND IN THIS UNSAFE CONDITION. I HAVE HAD OTHER VEHICLES TAILGATE ME ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, NOW I KNOW WHY. ALTHOUGH I AM ENTERING DEC 16 05 AS THE INCIDENT DATE, THIS IS THE DATE IT WAS FIRST BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION. I HAVE NO IDEA AS TO HOW LONG IT WAS LIKE THIS. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER ON 12-19-05 AND I LEFT IT THERE UNTIL THEY REPLACED MY BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH ON 12-20-05 (BECAUSE THEY HAD TO GET ONE FROM ANOTHER DEALER). THEY SAID THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY INFORMATION ON THIS PROBLEM AS TO A RECALL, ETC. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE!!! I HAVE READ THAT OTHERS HAVE THIS PROBLEM REPEAT AND I PRAY THAT I DON'T GET REAR-ENDED OR END UP DEAD BECAUSE OF A FAULTY SWITCH. I HAVE CHEVY COLORADO TRUCK THAT HAS HAD TO HAVE THE FRONT END REALIGNED AT 20,000 MILES THE FRONT TIRES WERE COMPLETELY WORN OUT ON THE INSIDE DID NOT TAKE BACK TO THE DEALER BECAUSE DID NOT THINK WOULD BE A WARRANTY ISSUE BUT HAVE TALKED TO OTHER OWNERS AN THEY HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM I HAVE NOT HAD ANY HEAVY LOADS ON THE TRUCK MY WIFE DRIVES IT TO WORK AND HOME EVERY DAY. *NM
THEIR SEEMS TO BE A SHORT IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE THE CLOCK IN THE STEREO WOULD NOT KEEP TIME. NO MATTER HOW OFTEN YOU SET IT YOU CAN LEAVE THE VEHICLE PARKED FOR AN HOUR OR SO COME BACK AND THE CLOCK HAS THE WRONG TIME IN HOURS. I HAVE RECENTLY HAD TO REPLACE ALL THE BULBS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE "FRONT AND REAR". NOW THE DRIVER SIDE PARK-SIGNAL LIGHT WILL NOT WORK WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN GEAR. AFTER YOU PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK THE LIGHT WILL COME ON. ALSO THE ELECTRIC WINDOWS DO NOT ALWAYS WORK. THE TIRES ON THE FRONT END HAVE EXCESSIVE WEAR ON THE IN SIDE. *NM
WAS DRIVING AND WAS TOLD BY A PASSING VEHICLE THAT MY BRAKE LIGHTS WERE OUT, AND WHEN I ASKED WHICH ONE , THEY REPLIED ALL OF THEM. CRUISE CONTROL ALSO WOULD NOT WORK. DEALER FIXED IT SAYING THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH WAS THE CAUSE. *NM
AS I WAS DRIVING MY 2004 CHEVROLET COLORADO, MY TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO OVER-DRIVE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLASHED, BUT NO MESSAGE WAS SHOWN ON THE MESSAGE CENTER. I TOOK MY TRUCK TO THE LOCAL DEALER. AFTER TALKING TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT YESTERDAY, THEY INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS A "SMALL RECALL" FOR THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM (WHICH FROM WHAT THEY TOLD ME, INVOLVES SOME GASKETS AND PINS OF SOME TYPE). MY TRUCK IS BEING REPAIRED AT NO COST. BUT IN CHECKING YOUR RECALL LIST, I FOUND NO COLORADO. IS THIS SOMETHING THAT EVERYONE WITH THIS TYPE OF DRIVE TRAIN SHOULD BE MADE AWARE OF? OR IS THIS SUCH A MINOR ISSUE, THAT A MAJOR NOTIFICATION IS NOT WARRANTED? *JB
2004 CHEVROLET COLORADO Z71 - RANDON STALLING CAUSING LOSS OF STEERING AND BRAKING. *NM
WHILE DRIVING THE AIR BAG LIGHT WARNING LIGHT TURNED ON, TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP TO BE FIXED, PROBLEM PERSISTED EVEN AFTER THE DEALERSHIP SAID AIR BAG CONNECTORS WERE CLEANED AND/OR REPLACED, CURRENTLY UNAWARE IF AIR BAGS WILL DEPLOY IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. VEHICLE RPM'S FLUCTUATE DOWN TO 500 WHILE VEHICLE IS SLOWING TO A STOP DURING COLD WEATHER. DEALERSHIP WAS ISSUED SERVICE BULLETIN AND PROBLEM WAS ADDRESSED BUT RETURNED WITHIN DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MILES, DURING SEVERELY COLD WEATHER VEHICLE IS ABLE TO STALL THE ENGINE WHILE IN MOTION. *NM
I WAS PULLED OVER BY A POLICE OFFICER TELLING ME THAT I HAD NO BRAKE LIGHTS. I HAD JUST PREVIOUSLY CHANGED THE BULBS, SO I SEARCHED FOR ALTERNATE PROBLEMS AND LOCATED THE RECALL NO. 06V139000. I CONTACTED MY DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT MY VIN # DOES NOT MATCH THE RECALL ORDER. I CONTACTED CHEVY OWNER SUPPORT AND THEY TOLD ME THE SAME THING, THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND A RECALL FOR MY VIN # AND THERE WAS NOTHING IN THE DATABASE SHOWING A RECALL EXISTED. *NM
THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH HAS FAILED AFTER OWNING CAR FOR TWO WEEKS. *JB
BRAKE LIGHTS HAVE FAILED FOUR TIMES IN 18 MONTHS. ALL DEALER DOES IS REPLACE SWITCH. THE FIRST TIME THEY FAILED I NOTICED 2 VEHICLES NEARLY REAR ENDING ME. THEN SOMEONE TOLD ME I HAD NO BRAKE LIGHTS. NOW I KNOW BRAKE LIGHTS ARE OUT WHEN CRUISE CONTROL QUITS WORKING. GM WANTS TO GIVE $2,500 TO TRADE VEHICLE BUT SHOULDN'T THEY BE REQUIRED TO FIX PROBLEM. I CAN'T TRADE WITHOUT DISCUSSING THIS PROBLEM REDUCING MY TRADE IN VALUE. *JB
2004 CHEVROLET COLORADO DOES NOT HAVE ACCELERATION WHEN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC FROM A STOP.*MR THE CONSUMER STATED HE DISCOVERED WATER IN THE FLOORBOARD. *JB
2004 COLORADO FUEL FILTER WAS REPLACED AT 22,300. THE FUEL CONNECTOR CAME LOOSE CAUSE FUEL TO SPILL OUT. *TS A YEAR AND SOME MONTHS LATER, THE CONSUMER DISCOVERED FUEL LEAKING PROFUSELY FROM THE FUEL FILTER CONNECTOR (BETWEEN THE FILTER AND THE ENGINE). THE CONSUMER SNAPPED THE CONNECTOR BACK IN TO PLACE. *JB
I HAVE A 2004 CHEVY COLORADO WITH THE SPORT PACKAGE / LOW PROFILE TIRES. I HAVE HAD ONE BLOW-OUT ALREADY AND NOW HAVE A FRONT TIRE THAT HAS AN APPROX. 12" BUBBLE IN IT THAT OCCURED WHEN DRIVING ON A 80* DAY AT 70MPH. THE BUBBLE IS APPROX. 3" IN HEIGHT. THE TRUCK HAS ONLY 28,000 MILES AND HAS NOW GONE THRU TWO TIRES.
DT: THE CONTACT STATES WHEN TRYING TO START VEHICLE IT STARTS SHAKING. THE SERVICE DEALER STATES THAT THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM, AND THERE IS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN. THE CONSUMER STATES WHEN THE VEHICLE DOES THIS AFTER APPROXIMATELY 35 MINUTES THE VEHICLE WILL START BACK. THE SERVICE DEALER REPLACED THE RELAY SWITCH. BUT AFTER A WEEK THE PROBLEM RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER REFERRED THE CONSUMER TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. *AK
1. ABS KEPT KICKING IN ON LOW SPEED STOPS SUCH AS A SIMPLE STOP AT A STOP SIGN. 2. RESULT I WAS UNABLE TO STOP WHEN A TRUCK STOPPED IN FRONT OF ME. *JB
PURCHASED 2004 CHEVY COLORADO SPORT WITH LOWERED SUSPENSION IN MAY 2004. THE BRAKE SYSTEM HAS NEVER BEEN 100%. IT WILL VARY IN DEGREES OF PRESSURE REQUIRED TO ADEQUATELY SLOW DOWN, OR EVEN STOP THE VEHICLE. IT HAS BEEN IN TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES AND EACH TIME THEY STATE NOTHING IS WRONG. THE BRAKES ALSO SQUEAL WITH LESS THAN 9,800 MILES ON IT AND THEY STATE THIS NORMAL. THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL TIMES WE WERE DRIVING AND I ATTEMPTED TO STOP THE TRUCK AND IT WOULD EITHER JERK VERY HARSHLY OR WOULD REQUIRE EXCESSIVE PEDDLE PRESSURE TO STOP. I HAVE DRIVEN TWO OTHER EXACT SAME MODELS AND YEARS AND THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PROBLEM, THERE FOR THIS VEHICLE IS FAULTY. LAST ATTEMPT TO SOLVE ISSUE RESULTED IN VERY RUDE SERVICE MANAGER GIVING ME GM PHONE # AND BASICALLY TELLING ME OFF AND TO LEAVE DEALERSHIP TO CONTACT THEM. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE A GM VEHICLE AGAIN AND WILL BE CLAIMING A LEMON LAW RIGHT ON THIS ONE. *NM

HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALERSHIP ONE SIDE WAS .2 NEGATIVE THE OTHER SIDE .3 NEGATIVE. THE TIRES ON THE VEHICLE WHERE TO A POINT WHERE THIS COULD BLOW OUT A TIRE. THE DEALERSHIP WAS TELLING HIM THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE PROBLEM BEGAN A FEW WEEKS AGO. GM REFUSED TO REPLACE TIRE UNDER WARRANTY. THE TECHNICIAN TOLD HIM IT SHOULD NOT HAVE DAMAGED HIS TIRES, BUT HE HAD A LOAD ON HIS VEHICLE. THE LOAD AND THE VEHICLE RESULTING IN POOR HANDLING OF THE VEHICLE. THEY KEPT TELLING HIM THAT THIS OCCURRED BECAUSE OF LACK OF TIRE ROTATION. THE CONTACT MAINTAINED THIS HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH PROBLEM. DAMAGE JUST OCCURRED TO THE TWO FRONT TIRES ON THE VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD CONSUMER THEY WOULD REIMBURSE HER FOR THE FIRST TIRE. THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED HER AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. SHE IS STILL WAS CONCERNED WITH SAFETY. THEY TOLD HER THEY MAY HAVE TO REPLACE THE OTHER TWO TIRES AT THE DEALERSHIP'S EXPENSE. ALSO ON 6-6-05 THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT KEPT COMING ON. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED VALVE SPRINGS, PER BULLETIN. THE FRONT AXLE SEALS AND FRONT SHOCKS WERE DEFECTIVE, AND THEY REPLACED THE FRONT AND REAR SHOCKS. THIS SERVICE WAS PERFORMED ON 6-23 AND 6-24-05. ON 6-29-05 THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON. SHE SAYS THE CAR FELT LIKE IT WAS FLOATING. SHE TOOK IT BACK IN 7-7-05 AND THEY HAD TO REPLACE A BRACKET FOR THE SQUEALING BELT. ON 7-13-05 SHE TOOK IT FOR A SIX MILE ROUND TRIP AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE TRUCK SMELLED LIKE IT WAS BURNING. SHE TOOK IT BACK ON 7-14-05. THEY ADJUSTED THE DOOR AND FOR 2 MONTHS THERE WAS NO WIND NOISE. THE PROBLEM KEEPS OCCURRING NEEDING ALIGNMENT. I ALSO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE SCREWS COMING LOOSE ON THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR CAUSING A METAL BINDING SOUND EVERYTIME I OPEN AND CLOSE THE DOOR. EACH TIME I OPEN AND CLOSE THE DOOR THE SCREWS ARE LOOSE ENOUGH TO WERE I CAN HAND TIGHTEN THEM. I ALSO HAD A COMPUTER PROBLEM IN THIS VEHICLE AS WELL. A YEAR AFTER HAVING MY VEHICLE OUT OF NOWHERE AND NO WARNING MY TRUCK WOULD NOT START. IT WOULD CRANK OVER BUT WOULD NOT START. FOR A BIGGER SEAT TO EVEN COME CLOSE TO FITTING IN THE BACK SEAT, THE SEAT WOULD HAVE TO BE PUSHED UP SO MUCH THAT IT WOULD ENDANGER THE PERSON SITTING IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BECAUSE THEY WOULD BE SO CLOSE TO THE AIR BAG. TOOK MY TRUCK IN FOR TIRE ROTATION AND CHECK ALIGNMENT ON 3/12/2005. MAINTENANCE IS CURRENT. TURNS OUT BOTH FRONT TIRES (GENERAL TIRE 235-75R15) WERE WORN DOWN TO THE STEEL BELTS ON THE INSIDE EDGES ONLY, WITH THE STEEL BELTS ACTUALLY STICKING OUT IN THERE. I DO NO OFF-ROAD DRIVING- ONLY TO AND FROM WORK 2 MILES DAILY ON THE HIGHWAY AND AN OCCASIONAL TRIP ON THE HIGHWAY TO FORT COLLINS (260 MILES ROUND TRIP ONCE PER MONTH) - AND THESE TIRES ONLY HAVE 15,000 MILES ON THEM. WAS TOLD BY MECHANIC WE WERE VERY LUCKY THAT THESE DIDN'T BLOW ON US ON THE HIGHWAY. ALSO, MECHANIC REPORTED THAT THERE IS A LEFT FRONT AXLE SEAL LEAK. TOOK THE TRUCK INTO DEALER ON MARCH 18 FOR REPAIR, BUT DEALER DID NOT PREORDER PARTS, SO I MUST RETURN THIS WEEK. I WENT AHEAD AND HAD THE TIRES REPLACED IN SPITE OF THE BUMPER-TO-BUMPER WARRANTY BECAUSE I DIDN'T DARE WAIT. I ALSO HAD AN ALIGNMENT. (MY FIRST ALIGNMENT CHECK SHOWED NO PROBLEMS IN OCTOBER.) THE TIRE THING REALLY DISTURBS ME BECAUSE, IN 36 YEARS OF DRIVING BOTH NEW AND USED CARS AND TRUCKS, I'VE NEVER HAD THIS HAPPEN.
