THE RADIO/HVAC DISPLAY TURNS OFF AND ON; THE ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM, SERVICE TRACTION SYSTEM, SERVICE STABILITRAC AND STEERING VEHICLE MESSAGES COMES ON AND OFF; THE TURN SIGNAL SOUND MAY NOT BE HEARD; 'BATTERY SAVER ACTIVE' AND 'SERVICE STEERING' DISPLAYS IN THE DRIVER INFORMATION CENTER (DIC); AND THE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR LIGHTING MAY FLICKER. POWER STEERING ASSIST IS ALSO LOST, AND GREATER EFFORT MAY BE NEEDED TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL AT LOW SPEEDS OR WHILE THE VEHICLE IS STOPPED. THIS ONLY HAPPENS IN THE SUMMER. DOING SPEEDS OF 65MPH. THE CAR LOSES POWER AND THEN THE DASH BOARD AND RADION FLICKERS ON AND OFF. THE CARS SOMETIMES SHUTS OFF AND I WILL HAVE TO PUT MY HAZARDS MARKER ON THE LET THE CAR PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. AND IM NOT ABLE TO TAKE THE KEY OUT THE IGNITION. THE KEY WILL GET STUCK AND ABOUT 3 MINUTES LATER I TRYING AGAIN AND THE KEY WILL COME OUT. I TRY TO START IT UP AGAIN AND THE CAR WILL START UP. THE STEERING WILL LOCK UP WHILE IM TRYING TO TURN OR IS TURNING THE IT WILL GO BACK TO REGULAR STATE. IT ONLY DOES THIS IN THE SUMMER OR WHEN THE CAR GETS HOT. SO I TOOK I TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT WAS MY NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE. THIS IS UNSAFE. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR ALMOST A 1 YEAR IT STARTS AND STOPS WHEN IT WANTS TOO. ALSO WHEN IM STOPPED OR SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT THE MATTERS ARE EVEN WORSER
WHEN PURCHASING MY AUTO 2011 CHEVROLET CRUZE I WAS NOT TOLD THAT THIS 2011 CHEVROLET CRUZE HAD A COOLANT LEAK THAT THE COMPANY COULD NOT REPAIR. BEFORE I PURCHASED MY 2011 CHEVROLET CRUZE A GUARDER PLATE WAS INSTALLED TOO KEEP THE LEAK FROM BURNING OFF OF THE MOTOR AND NO REPAIR TO STOP THE COOLANT LEAK. MY 2011 CHEVROLET CRUZE OVER HEATED AND I WAS SENT A LETTER THAT CHEVROLET COMPANY WOULD REPLACE THE COOLANT ONCE IT GET LOW. I TOLD THEM THAT THIS COOLANT IS ALSO INSIDE THE CAB OF MY 2011 CHEVROLET CRUZE AND THEY SAID THAT I WOULD BE CHARGED TO HAVE MY 2011 CHEVROLET CRUZE CHECKED FOR REASON OF LEAK BUT ONCE COOLANT IS LEAKED OUT OR LOW THEY WOULD REPLACE IT. THIS CHEMICAL IS A LABELED 'A' POISON FOR HUMANS WITHIN IT'S LABEL. WHICH I HAVE HAD THOSE AFFECTS FROM IT'S RELEASE AT THIS POINT. I CANNOT GET CHEVROLET TO FIX THIS AND THEY SAID THAT THEY'LL NOT FIX IT JUST REPLACE COOLANT JUST FOR 2016 AFTER THEN THEY'LL NOT REPLACE LEAKED COOLANT. I ASKED THEM IF I COULD HAVE THE 2011 CHEVROLET CRUZE CHECKED WITHOUT HAVING A SERVICE CHARGE AND I WAS TOLD I COULD NOT THAT I'LL BE CHARGED A FEE. I WAS OFFERED A $2000.00 VOUCHER TO PURCHASE ANOTHER AUTO. BEING ONCE STRESS OF OVER HEATING OR CORRECT LEVELS OF COOLANT WITHING VEHICLE COOLANT FUNCTIONING COMPONENTS CANNOT OPERATE NORMALLY I'D HAVE TO REPLACE THOSE COMPONENTS AND IF NOT UNDER COMPONENTS WARRANTY I'LL BE CHARGED SERVICE VISIT AND PARTS AND LABOR RENDERED. I MENTIONED THAT THIS COOLANT CHEMICAL BURN OFF IS CAUSING SIGHT EFFECTS AND THAT IT CONTINUES SENDING THOSE CHEMICAL COOLANT FUMS INTO THE CAB OF THE VEHICLE AND I'M TAKING MEDICATION FOR THOSE SIGHT EFFECTS OF THE COOLANT'S CHEMICAL BURN OFF. AGAIN (GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION LEGAL AGENT SAID THAT'S THE LEGAL OFFER AND IF NOT AGREED ACTIVE CASE FILE WOULD BE CLOSED. ON 3/10/2015 MY CASE FILE CLOSED WITH NO RESOLUTION.
THE CHROME PLATING ON BOTH THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES STARTED TO PEEL OFF WHICH CREATED SHARP EDGES ON THE HANDLES IN WHICH I AND OTHERS HAVE CUT OURSELVES ON. I HAD TO CHIP SOME OF THE CHROME PLATING OFF AND WRAP THE HANDLES WITH TAPE TO PREVENT MYSELF AND MY KIDS FROM GETTING CUT ON THE PEELING CHROME FINISH.
MY CAR HAS A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND I TOOK IT TO DEALER THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE CODE IS, ITS P057C AND I WAS DRIVING ON HIGHWAY GOING 70 AND CAR ALL OF A SUDDEN LOSES POWER WENT FROM 70MPH TO 5MPH IN A SPLIT SECOND ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED BY A SEMI TRUCK I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR FOR MY SAFETY. DEALER WANTS HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS JUST TO TRY AND FIGRE OUT THE ISSUE BUT AFTER DIAGNOSTIC THEY STILL HAVE NO CLUE. SO THIR PLAN WAS TO DISSECT MY CAR LIKE A SCIENCE PROJECT AND MAYBE FIX IT. THEY WANT THE CAR FOR A WEEK AND DO NOT OFFER ANY LOANER CARS. CHEVROLET NORTHRIDGE DEALERSHIP CALIFORNIA. TODAY 03/04/16 DRIVING TO WORK GOING 40MPH AND GET TO A RED LIGHT, IT TURNED GREEN I HIT THE GAS AND THE CAR JUST REVS AND WONT GO MORE THAN 5PMH . I HAD TO PULL OVER AND TURN CAR ON AND OFF 2 TIMES BEFORE I COULD GET TO WORK. AND GOT THERE LATE BECAUSE OF THIS. AND AGAIN ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED. I PRESS THE GAS AND THE CAR REVS AS IF IT IS IDLING. PLEASE MAKE THIS A RECALL AND HELP GET THIS FIXED. ITS GOING TO BE A REASON WHY A DRIVER LOSES THEIR LIFE. MY 2011 CHEVY CRUZE IS NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY WHILE ACCELERATING. IT IS MOST NOTICEABLE WHILE ACCELERATING RAPIDLY ON AN ENTRANCE RAMP, IT JERKS AND DOES NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY. IT MAKES YOU WANDER IF IT IS GOING TO STOP WORKING. I HAVE ALSO HAD A LAG IN REGULAR SHIFTING. THESE PROBLEMS WERE ADDRESSED BY MY LOCAL CHEVY THREE TIMES WHILE UNDER WARRANTY AND IT RESULTED IN REBUILDING MY TRANSMISSION. I AM NOW OUT OF WARRANTY AND HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUES THAT IT TOOK THEM THREE TIMES TO FIX. I HAVE HAD THIS CAR AT THE DEALER TO OFTEN SINCE PURCHASING IT. I HAVE ALSO HAD THE AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR AND FAN REPLACED AND ALL RECALLS PERFORMED. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CHEVY CRUZE. I DO HAVE RECORDS OF MY REPAIRS.
The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the odor of engine oil was present inside the cabin of the vehicle. Additionally, oil was leaking from the engine compartment onto the floor of the garage. The vehicle had been serviced on multiple occasions for the failure by an independent mechanic who replaced the oil pan and oil reservoir however, the failure persisted. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in the NHTSA Campaign Number: 12V288000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 100,000.
CAR WILL SLOW TO 2 MPH WITH THE WARNINGS "LOW ENGINE MODE" AND "SERVICE STABILITRACK". CAN BE GOING ANY SPEED AND THIS HAPPENS. HAVE HAD THE CAR TOWED 3 TIMES FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM. EACH TIME THEY TELL US IT IS ANOTHER PART THAT IS DEFECTIVE. WE HAVE SPENT APPROXIMATELY $2,000 ON REPAIRS FOR THIS SAME ISSUE. MY MAIN CONCERN IS THAT MY [XXX] YEAR OLD SON WHO DRIVES THIS VEHICLE IS GOING TO GET KILLED. IF THIS HAPPENS ON A HIGHWAY WITH A SEMI BEHIND HIM, THE SEMI WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SLOW DOWN TO THAT SPEED THAT FAST AND WILL RUN RIGHT OVER HIM. THERE ARE NUMEROUS REPORTS OF THIS SAME ISSUE ON 2011-2015 CRUZE VEHICLES THAT YOU CAN FIND ANYWHERE ON THE INTERNET (EVEN ON GM FORUM). THE OUTER RIM OF THE WHEEL BROKE OFF FROM THE INNER 'STAR' OF THE WHEEL LEAVING THE INNER PART OF THE RIM AND THE LUG NUTS ATTACHED TO THE CAR. THE TIRE AND OUTER RIM DETACHED FROM THE CAR CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE CAR'S BODY. THE CAR FELL TO THE PAVEMENT WHEN THE OUTER RIM BROKE AWAY CAUSING BODY DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END OF THE CAR. THIS OCCURRED AROUND 7:30PM ON 2/29/2016. THE PAVEMENT WAS DRY, CLEAR AND FREE OF DEBRIS.
THE INTERIOR CROME OVERLAYS OF THE DOOR HANDLES AT THE SEAM OVERLAY IS PEELING BACK ACUSING A SHARP AND A CUTTING HAZARD. EVERYTIME YOUOPEN THE DOOR IT POSES A THREAT TO GET CUT DEEPLY
WHILE DRIVING POWER REDUCTION MESSAGE FLASHED,SERVICE ESP FLASHED..POWER WAS DRASTICALLY REDUCED..HAD TO PULL OFF ROAD,SHUT OFF VEHICLE FOR SEVERAL MINUTES AND RESTART.HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES.HIGHLY DANGEROUS PROBLEM
TAKATA RECALL. I DRIVE A 2011 CHEVROLET CRUZE WITH APPROXIMATELY 57000 MILES. LAST WEEK I WAS DRIVING IN TRAFFIC WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY BEGAN TO LOSE POWER. ON MY DASHBOARD NOTICE CENTER THE MESSAGE "ENGINE POWER REDUCED" FLASHED. THE CAR LOST ACCELERATION AND BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL. I WAS SURROUNDED BY TRAFFIC AND VERY LUCKY I DID NOT GET HIT AS I MANAGED TO GET IT TO COAST INTO A PARKING LOT. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. AFTER DOING ONLINE RESEARCH I WAS SHOCKED TO SEE THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO. UNFORTUNATELY IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN AFTER THE 50,000 MILE MARK ON THESE VEHICLES AND USUALLY AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRES
FROM A STOPPED POSITION, I WOULD ACCELERATE THROUGH 1ST GEAR, JUST BEFORE I CHANGE GEARS TO 2ND. THE WHOLE CAR'S ELECTRICAL SYSTEM GOES HAYWIRE. ALL SYSTEMS RESET, MOST OF THE TIME THIS MEANS I CAN A VERY BAD JERK IN BETWEEN GEARS 1 AND 2. A FEW TIMES THE CAR TURNED OFF. IF THE CAR DOES DIE, I AM UNABLE TO START THE CAR OR JUMP IT FOR AT LEAST 15 MINUTES. THE LONGEST I HAD TO SIT WAS OVER 30 MINUTES. CHEVY'S DIC SYSTEM TELLS ME TO CHECK A VARIETY OF THINGS, NOT ALWAYS ALL OF THEM. BUT USUALLY CHECK POWER STEERING AND AIRBAG SYSTEMS. A FEW TIMES IT TOLD ME TO CHECK TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEMS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS NEVER COME ON IN ANY OF THESE INSTANCES. CHEVY SAYS THIS IS DUE TO A FAULTY GROUND WIRE, WHICH THEY REPLACED AND IT CONTINUES TO DO THIS. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION, WHERE IF I WAS IN A BUSY INTERSECTION I COULD EASILY BE CAUGHT IN AN ACCIDENT. LUCKILY, THIS HAS HAPPENED MOSTLY IN RESIDENTIAL AREAS.
I AM A FIRE INVESTIGATOR I WORK FOR THE LOS ALAMOS COUNTY FIRE DEPT. I INVESTIGATED A VEHICLE FIRE THAT ORIGINATED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND HAD JUST BEEN DRIVEN APPROX.. 1 HR. THE VEHICLE IS LISTED AS HAVING A RECALL NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V288000. IT APPEARS THAT EVEN THOUGHT THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED FOR THE RECALL THE SAME PROBLEM AND RESULTING FIRE HAPPENED. VEHICLE BEGAN TO SMOKE AFTER BEING PARKED AND FIRE WAS WITN
I FIRST TOOK MY CRUZE TO THE DEALER BECAUSE OF LEAKING TRANSMISSION FLUID FROM A DEFECTIVE SEAL ON THE TRANSMISSION BOX. THEY ALSO SAID THE BATTERY WAS CRACKED. TRANSMISSION WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, BUT I HAD TO BUY A NEW BATTERY. REALLY? AFTER THAT WORK BEING DONE, I NOTICED THE SMELL OF ANTI FREEZE. DEALER SAID A HOSE WAS SPLIT, BUT WHEN I ASKED TO SEE THE HOSE, THEY SAID THE END BROKE OFF WHEN THEY WERE REPLACING A CLIP BLAMED ON THE ANTI FREEZE LEAK. I HAD TO BUY A NEW HOSE. SAID THEY CHECKED THE SYSTEM FOR LEAKS AND THERE WEREN'T ANY. THE CAR STOPPED LEAKING FOR A WHILE, BUT NOW I HAVE PUDDLES OF ANTI FREEZE ON THE GARAGE FLOOR AND A NAUSEATING SMELL AROUND THE CAR. I AM GOING TO GO TO A DIFFERENT DEALER FOR A SECOND OPINION, BUT I FEAR I HAVE A REAL PROBLEM AND FROM WHAT I'VE READ IT IS COMMON WITH THIS CAR AND GM HASN'T DONE MUCH TO HELP THE CONSUMER. I BELIEVED IN BUYING AMERICAN, BUT IT WON'T BE ANOTHER CHEVY.
TAKATA RECALL'' A WHOLE BURN INTO MY AIR CONDENSOR CAUSING MY FLUIDS TO LEAK OUT AND CAUSING A BAD SMELL
MY CAR FROM TIME TO TIME SHOWS AN ERROR SAYING REDUCED ENGINE POWER. THE WHOLE CAR KICKS DOWN AND UNABLE TO GO OVER 10 MPH. THIS HAS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES AND ONCE ON THE HIGHWAY. IT DIDN'T DO IT AGAIN FOR AWHILE BUT THEN AGAIN TODAY IT DID IT. I HAVE READ A FEW BLOGS THAT IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH CHEVY CRUZ AND I DON'T BELIEVE IT'S COVERED UNDER WARRANY. THIS COULD BE A DEADLY FAULT WITH THIS CAR. YOU GET NO NOTIFICATION THAT IT'S GOING TO HAPPEN.
I'VE OWNED MY 2011 CHEVY CRUZE FOR 4 YEARS AND I HAVE HAD ON-GOING ISSUES WITH A VERY DISTINCT SMOKE/COOLANT SMELL COMING FROM THE ENGINE. IT IS MORE NOTICEABLE WHEN THE HEAT IS ON. IN DOING RESEARCH, THIS IS A WELL-KNOWN ISSUE. I'VE TAKEN MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP ON THREE SEPERATE OCCASIONS AND THEY CANNOT FIX THE ISSUE - IT KEEPS COMING BACK. I REACHED OUT TO CHEVY TO FILE A COMPLAINT BUT I AM NOT GETTING HELP FROM THEM. THE ODOR THAT IS COMING FROM THE CAR IS SO BAD THAT I HAVE TO ROLL DOWN MY WINDOWS IN THE WINTER. IT IS EITHER NO HEAT, OR HEAT AND WINDOWS DOWN. I KNOW CHEVY IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE - IT IS ALL OVER THE INTERNET - HOWEVER, THEY ARE NOT DOING THEIR PART TO FIX THE ISSUE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET CRUZE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE DRIVER WAS DRIVING AT 35 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND FAILED TO RELEASE TO THE NORMAL POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,000.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY DURING A RAIN STORM WHEN THE DRIVER SIDE WIPER BLADE QUIT WORKING. I HAD TO PULL OFF THE ROAD WHICH WAS VERY DIFFICULT BECAUSE MY VISION WAS BEING BLOCKED BY THE RAIN. IT WAS VERY DANGEROUS TO DO THIS BECAUSE OF THE WIPER FAILURE. I WAS TRAVELING AT A SPEED OF 55-60 MPH AT THIS TIME.
ON DECEMBER 21, 2015, WHILE ON MY WAY TO WORK IN DEARBORN IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC AT 7:15 A.M. , TRAVELING SOUTH ON SOUTHFIELD FREEWAY AT 65 MPH IN THE FAST LANE, AN ALARM SOUNDED AND MY RATE OF SPEED WAS REDUCED TO 10 MPH, AN EXCLAMATION SYMBOL APPEARED ON MY DISPLAY WITH THE WORDS "REDUCED ENGINE POWER". I IMMEDIATELY TURNED ON MY HAZZARD LIGHTS. CARS TRAVELLING BEHIND ME HAD TO SLAM ON THEIR BRAKES TO AVOID HITTING ME. THE SHOULDER WAS NOT THE ADEQUATE WIDTH TO MOVE THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD TO GET OUT OF THE WAY OF TRAFFIC. I PULLED OFF AS MUCH AS I COULD AND SWITCHED THE CAR OFF, THIS RESET THE PROBLEM SO I DID NOT HAVE REDUCED ENGINE POWER AND I WAS ABLE TO TRAVEL AND EXIT THE EXPRESSWAY SAFELY. THE PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN ON THE ROAD TO MY OFFICE COMPLEX PARKING LOT. I HAVE HAD THE PROBLEM FIXED AT THE GM DEALERSHIP. I FEEL THIS TYPE OF ISSUE SHOULD NOT HAPPEN AND POSES A VERY SERIOUS THREAT TO THE SAFETY OF THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS OF THE CAR AFFECTED BY THE MALFUNCTION AND OTHER MOTORIST THAT ARE ON THE ROAD. IT IS IMPORTANT TO MAKE SURE THIS DOES NOT OCCUR ON OTHER CARS.

IN ADDITION TO TWO COMPLAINTS FILED ABOUT THIS VEHICLE ALREADY. THE U.S HAS NO CONCERN FOR HUMAN LIFE IN THE U.S AND IS ALLOWING WHITE SUPREMACY TO ENDANGER MINORITY DRIVERS AND OTHER DRIVERS. THE TESTING OF SATELLITE RADIOLOGICAL DISPERSAL WEAPONS AND REMOTE CONTROL SYSTEMS INVOLVING, HACKING, BACKDOOR ACCESS, REMOTE CONTROL, SURVEILLANCE AND VEHICLE COMPROMISE PERSISTS. ON 12/10/15 AND 12/09/15 THE VEHICLE WAS HALTED BY FORCE FROM A SATELLITE TRACKING THE VEHICLE. AMPLE EVIDENCE OF ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS IN THE CAR, CELLPHONE TRACKING AND HOME TRACKING IS AVAILABLE. A FEDERAL LAWSUIT WAS FILED AND DISMISSED WITHOUT REASON OF CAUSE TO FURTHER THE HATE CRIME. THE VEHICLE IS PURPOSELY TAMPERED WITH DURING TRANSIT TO CAUSE LOSS OF CONTROL AND THROTTLE. THE VEHICLE THROTTLE IS GONE, THE GAS PEDDLE GOES LIMP AND THE ENGINE STOPS THROTTLE FOR A DURATION. THE ENGINE THEN KICKS IN FULL FORCE AFTER A SERIES OF HARD SPUTTERS ON THROTTLE JERKING THE CAR FORWARD UP A HILL OR INTO TO A STOP. THE COOLING SYSTEM IN MY 2011 CHEVY CRUZE HAS FAILED FOR THE 3RD TIME IN MY TWO YEAR OWNERSHIP. THIS IS DANGEROUS, MY CAR OVERHEATED AND WENT INTO IDLE MODE ON A 70MPH INTERSTATE(81) WITH MY FAMILY STILL INSIDE. CHEVY DENYS ANY PROBLEM! MULTIPLE CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS HAVE BEEN STARTED REGARDING THE FAULTY COOLING SYSTEM BUT THEY SEEM TO JUST DISAPPEAR. MY CAR CONSTANTLY SMELLS OF NAUSEATING COOLANT AND HAS BEEN "FIXED" TWICE NOW. ON 12-5-15 I WAS ON MY WAY TO CT FROM MASS AND WAS ON 91. ABOUT 45 MINUTES INTO THE TRIP THE CAR BEGAN TO LOOSE POWER AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE SERVICE STABLITRACK LIGHT CAME ON. AS SOON AS THE LIGHT CAME ON THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE AND RPM GAUGE WOULD FLING UP AND DOWN QUICKLY! I IMMEDIATELY WENT FROM 65 MPH TO 30 MPH.( I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED BY A CAR BEHIND ME) I COASTED MY WAY TO THE RIGHT LANE AND WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE EXIT. THE CAR TOOK ABOUT 4 HOURS TO GO BACK TO NORMAL. ( I RETURNED TO MASS, I HAD TO TAKE THE BACK WAY HOME AND AVOID THE HIGHWAY AS THE CAR STILL HAD REDUCE SPEED) THE CAR WILL RETURN TO NORMAL AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL GO OFF. EVERYDAY NOW THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME ON AND IT WILL SAY SERVICE STABLITRACK. THE CAR IMMEDIATELY LOOSES POWER AND YOU CAN HEAR THE ENGINE (SOUNDS LIKE A FAN BLOWING HARD) THE TRANSMISSION WILL NOT SHIFT. THE RPM WILL JUMP TO 4-5 WHILE ONLY GETTING TO A SPEED OF 35 MPH. THE DEALER HAS NO IDEA WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT. THIS CAR WAS BOUGHT IN JANUARY OF 2015 AND HAS LESS THAN 65,000 MILES ON IT. I HAVE READ A FEW COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SIMILAR SITUATION HAPPENING TO THE SAME CAR I HAVE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE!!! THE CAR HAS BEEN SERVICED ON TIME!!! PLEASE HELP ME!! DUE TO THE SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER I WAS NEARLY STRUCK BY A BIG RIG. DEALER CAN NOT IDENTIFY CODES ONLY CODE THAT APPEARED WAS PO171,FUEL TRIM LEAN CODE WAS ADDRESSED BY DEALER, DEALER CLAIMS ORIGINAL COMPLAINT WAS TIED TO THE P0171 CODE. WHILE DRIVING HOME EXPERIENCED SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER AND ROUGH SHIFTING. NO WARNING LIGHTS OR INDICATORS APPEARED. VEHICLE SMELLS LIKE BURNT OIL, AND NOTICED A LOUD TICKING NOISE. NOTIFIED DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT IS NORMAL VEHICLE WILL BE FINE AFTER 400 MILES OF DRIVING. MY FAMILIES LIFE WILL BE PLACED IN JEAPORDY FOR THE NEXT 400 MILES. THE UNRESPONSIVE ACCELERATION AND SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE.
WHEN THE CABIN HEATING SYSTEM IS ACTIVATED IN COOL/COLD WEATHER.(THE TEMP SETTING INDICATOR TO MAX HEAT AND THE CAR ENGINE IS AT THE NORMAL OPERATING RANGE). THERE IS A BURNT RUBBER SMELL OR EXHAUST SMELL THAT COMES OUT OF THE VENTILATION SYSTEM. THE DEALER HAS BEEN UNABLE TO FIND THE CAUSE. THE SMELL WILL GO AWAY IF THE TEMP SETTING IS REDUCE TO THE COLD SIDE OF THE SCALE (IE THE BLUE LINE AND NOT THE RED LINE). I HAVE READ OF OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE BUT DID NOT FIND IT ON THIS SITE. IN THE WORST CASE THIS MAY BE CO LEAKING INTO THE CABIN OR IT COULD BE RELATED TO SOME RUBBER LIKE COMPONENT OFF-GASING BECAUSE OF THE HOT AIR. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS MOVING OR STANDING STILL, BUT THE ENGINE MUST BE IN THE NORMAL OPERATING TEMP RANGE AS SHOWN ON THE TEMP GAUGE. THIS HAS OCCUR EVERY YEAR SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR.

A RECALL ON THE VALVE- COVER GASKET POTENTIALLY CAUSING A FIRE FROM OIL LEAKAGE HAS BEEN REPORTED IN THE LOCAL PAPER, BUT NOT ON MY MAKE/MODEL. I HAVE THE OIL LEAKAGE AND CAN SMELL IT BURNING OFF SOMETHING. THIS WAS NOT A PROBLEM UNTIL AFTER THE DEALERSHIP HAD TO REBUILD MY TRANSMISSION. MY CAR HAS 74,000 MILES.

HE FILLED UP THE COOLANT AGAIN AND IT IS STEADILY LEAKING COOLANT WHEN THE CAR IS RUNNING. I RECEIVED A LETTER IN THE MAIL FROM GM IN 2014 ABOUT POSSIBLE COOLANT LEAK. THE LETTER TOLD ME TO TAKE MY VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE IF THERE WERE ANY ISSUES WITH THE ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM. I WAS NOT HAVING ISSUES WITH ENGINE COOLING AT THE TIME, AND I PUT THE LETTER TO THE SIDE. TWO MONTHS AGO, MY AC BROKE DUE TO A ROCK HITTING IT. WHEN I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP FOR THE AC, THEY NOTICED THE OPEN RECALL FOR THE COOLING SYSTEM AND RECOMMENDED I HAVE IT LOOKED AT WHILE I WAS THERE. THEY PROCEEDED TO INSPECT THE ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM, AT WHICH TIME IT PASSED THEIR INSPECTION. NOW TWO MONTH LATER, THE PROBLEM IS PRESENT AND THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THAT IT WILL NOT BE COVERED SINCE THAT RECALL IS NO LONGER "OPEN" ON MY VEHICLE. THAT IS NOT FAIR IN MY OPINION.

A YEAR LATER, THE VEHICLE WAS OVERHEATING AGAIN FROM THE ENGINE AND AN ABNORMAL ODOR WAS COMING FROM THE AIR VENT. IN ADDITION, THERE WAS WHITE SMOKE COMING FROM THE TAIL PIPE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO HARDY CHEVROLET WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A NEW MOTOR WAS NEEDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 170,000.

IT IS WELL DOCUMENTED WITH MY GM SERVICE CENTER (BERGSTROM GM OF NEENAH, WI 920.722.1111) AND OTHER CERTIFIED MECHANICS THAT OIL HAS BEEN FOUND AND CLEANED OUT OF SEVERAL AREAS OF MY ENGINE INCLUDING: THE TURBO CHARGER, INTAKE MANIFOLD, THROTTLE BODY, CHARGE AIR COOLER AND ITS INLET AND OUTLET PIPES, AND CYLINDERS. IN ADDITION, MY THERMOSTAT HAS FAILED AND DOES NOT NOTIFY ME OF AN OVER-HEATING ISSUE. AN OVERHEATING ENGINE THAT LEAKS OIL THROUGHOUT WITH NO WARNING FROM THE THERMOSTAT IS A RECIPE FOR DISASTER.

ONCE THE LIGHT WAS GREEN AND I PROCEEDED, ENGINE LIGHT WENT OFF AND SERVICE CONTROL ALSO WENT AWAY. IT WOULD ONLY JERK BACK AND FORTH ONCE AT A COMPLETE STOP. MY VEHICLE IS DEFINITELY A HAZARD AND NOT SAFE TO DRIVE.

THE AIR CONDITIONING SHUTS OFF, RADIO, THE WHOLE CAR POWERS DOWN. I PUT THE CAR INTO PARK, TURN OFF THE CAR, WAIT A FEW MINUTES AND TURN THE CAR BACK ON.
