Subframe rust ? my 2006 chev eq , has only 50, 000 mile on it and the sub frame is rust out ? I check for recall but said 0 ? I can’t under stand how ? Body guy said it going to cost thousands of dollars ! I can’t afford that ! ! what should I do ? There Should be a recall ? on this frame ! Frame is very important part of the car ! I had lot of chev from 1970 to 1980 with 150,000 miles on them ! With out this much rust , body guy stayed it been happening a lot with the chev , It look like it been happening for a while on my 2006 chev , eq before the 50,000 ! ? Very Very dangerous ! Very disappointing and worried that some thing could happen I only use it to go store , pick up kids from school, get food , go around town ,low mileage’s on it ! very disappointed in chev need. Bent driveshaft
I just got the car on Thursday, 11/3/2022. around 1:00 pm. On 11/3/2022 around 3:30 pm, the following happened: The equinox started wobbling as I reached the speed of approximately 40 mph. Then I had a red light. After it turned green and I began driving, the vehicle started wobbling and it was hard to control my position in the traffic lane. Other drivers avoided me, and slowed down to prevent an accident. At this point, I reached a reduced speed construction area. When I drove at about 20 mph, the vehicle wobbled even worse. The driver’s side wheel started going clunk, clunk., so I pulled into a gas station. The left front tire was low, but nowhere near flat. A man put some air in the tire and it held the air. At that point, I recognized that it was too dangerous to drive the vehicle again. Chevy roadside assistance took it to the nearest dealer, Mills Chevrolet. They will look at it on Monday 11/4/2022.
Both front frame mounts that hold the engine suspension crossmember rusted away. What is even worse GM discontinued the replacement parts. I had to use components from a similar platform. This is a safety related rusting problem that is life threating as vehicle can become unstable and uncontrollable at highway speeds.
My 2006 Chevrolet Equinox blows cold air will not defrost windshield. And while driving I push the gas pedal and it’s like surges and jumps. The car manufacturer knows about the issues and they don’t vare
Vehicle keeps over heating fixed everything that can cause it to overheat and the problem still consists read many complaints over 700 with the same issue even when the problem get temporarily fixed it starts overheating again in a couple month car will mainly over heat at idle the heat won’t work it’s a bad antifreeze smell it’s a problem that has many complaints but still nothing is being done I have 5 children I didn’t think I would be driving with my children wondering if my car was going to over heat and us having to pull over on a free way or a street being stranded bc of a problem that’s happening with these vehicles and nothing is being done
CAR WAS IN MOTION TRIED TO STOP AT LIGHT OR STOP SIGN REALLY HAD TO PUMP BRAKE LIGHT WENT ON TC / TBS. IF CARS WERE CLOSE BY THEY WOULD HAVE HIT ME OR I HIT THEM.HAVE CLEANED MODULE, CHANGED BRAKES, CHANGED OTHER PARTS IN WHEELS. WORK A LITTLE WHILE THEN GOES BACK TO LIGHTS TURNING ON TC / TBS
WHEN PRESSING ON THE BRAKE PEDAL YOU GET CONSTANT VIBRATION CAUSING YOU TO SKID. IT HAPPENS WHEN YOUR GOING STRAIGHT OR TURNING WHEN YOU PRESS ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. IT ALMOST CAUSED ME TO SKID INTO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. AND ALSO DEFROST IS NOT WORKING CAUSING VISIBILITY ISSUES ESPECIALLY IN THE COLD AND SNOW.
FRONT BRAKE CALIPERS SEIZED UP. OVER-HEATING DUE TO EXCESSIVE FRICTION FROM BRAKES LOCKING. FRONT END STARTED SHAKING DUE TO FRONT END BRAKES SEIZING WHILE IN MOTION. FRONT CALIPERS SMOKING DUE TO EXCESSIVE FRICTION BUILD UP. I WAS ON US 265 IN NEW ALBANY, IN. SHAKING SEEMED TO SUBSIDE A BIT WHILE TURNING.
CAR KEEPS OVERHEATING REPLACED EVERYTHING STILL OVERHEATING
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE IDLING, SMOKE SUDDENLY WAS PRESENT COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD AND THROUGH THE AIR VENTS OF THE VEHICLE. ADDITIONALLY, THE DOORS LOCKED INDEPENDENTLY AND THE WINDOWS FAILED TO OPERATE AS INTENDED, WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS TO BE TRAPPED IN THE VEHICLE. A WINDOW WAS SHATTERED IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS TO BE EXTRICATED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED TO THE SCENE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. NEITHER THE MANUFACTURER NOR LOCAL DEALER WERE INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
CAR STALLS NO MATTER IF I'M AM NOT MOVING OR GOIN 65 MILE AN HOUR,WITHOUT WARNING, I LIVE IN RURAL AREA LOT OF CURVY ROADS, KEY WILL NOT WORK AT TIMES IN IGNITION, WHY WAS THERE NO RECALL ON 06 EQUINOX IGNITION SWITCH ALONG WITH MANY OTHERS, I AM PETRIFIED TO DRIVE IT , BUT NEED TO WORK,IT DOESN'T MATTER WHERE YOU ARE OR HOW FAST YOUR GOING CAR STALLS WITHOUT WARNING,HAVE HAD CAR SINCE 2013 OR SO AND ALWAYS BEEN KEY PROBLEM BUT NEVER STALLED. *TR
BOUGHT THIS CAR ON 11/3/19, WITHIN THE FIRST WEEK THERE WAS A HORRIBLE THUMPING AND VIBRATING WHILE DRIVING OR TURNING THE WHEEL. SO I TOOK IT BACK, THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD REPLACE MY WHEEL HUB ON THE DRIVERS SIDE, I RETURN TO PICK UP MY CAR, THE SAME ISSUE IS THERE JUST NOT AS BAD, HE CLAIMED HE STILL REPLACED THE WHEEL HUB. SO I TAKE THE TIRE OFF MYSELF AND INSPECT THE WHEEL HUB AND TIRES, AND THEY IN FACT DIDNT REPLACE THE HUB, THEY JUST SILICONED THE WHEEL HUB TO THE END OF THE AXLE SHAFT, WHICH NOW HAS CAUSED OTHER DAMAGE TO MY TRANS AND OR SUSPENSION. I CALL TO LET THEM KNOW AND THE OWNER FIRST PLAYED STUPID AS IF HE DIDNT KNOW IF THEY REPLACED IT, SO I TOLD THEM ID CALL BACK. I WAITED A WEEK CALLED BACK, LET HIM KNOW WHAT I FOUND ON THE WHEEL HUB THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE REPLACED.. THEN HE GETS NASTY AND SAYS ITS OUT OF THEIR HANDS ECT, AND THEY DID REPLACE IT.. WELL NO WHEEL HUB IS GONG TO GO BAD IN LESS THEN A MONTH WITH NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS, AND THERE IS NO REASON AT ALL SILICONE SHOULD BE USED TO HOLD ANYTHING TO AN AXLE OR WHEEL HUB. I AM WORRIED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY AND WIFE, AND I AM SUPPOSE TO CONTINUE TO PAY ANOTHER 2700 DOLLARS ON A CAR THEY LIED ABOUT DURING MY WARRANTY.
THE PLASTIC BLEND ARM FOR THE HEATER SELECTOR MOTOR BROKE, WHICH SEEMS TO BE HAPPENING ON THE EQUINOX CARS. IT CAUSES THE HEATER TO BLOW COLD AIR ONLY. THIS HAPPENED ON A CITY STREET WHILE TRAVELING TO THE STORE. WHEN I TURNED THE HEATER ON IT MADE A FUNNY NOISE LIKE IT WASN'T ENGAGING. THE WINDOWS WOULDN'T DEFROST WHILE I WAS DRIVING.
DRIVER SEAT IS HAVING A SHORTAGE. SEAT MOVED ALL THE WAY BACK AND DOES NOT MOVE ANYMORE. THE MOTOR ON THE BOTTOM OF THE SEAT IS EXTREMELY HOT AND THE SEAT IS HOT. IT MAKES A NON STOP NOISE FROM THE SHORTAGE. I AM SCARED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THE HOT SEAT. IT IS MY ONLY VEHICLE TO GET TO WORK AND MY KIDS TO SCHOOL.
THE KEY SLIDES OUT THE IGNITION & THE IGNITION CAN SLIP FROM THE "RUN" TO THE "ACCESSORY" OR "OFF" POSITION WHILE I'M DRIVING, CUTTING POWER AND CAUSING ME TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE
THE FRAME IS RUSTING WHERE THE SUBFRAME CONNECT TO THE CAR TO THE POINT WHERE THE SUBFRAME ISN'T REALLY CONNECTED ANYMORE
I RECENTLY BOUGHT A 2006 CHEVROLET EQUINOX AND THE FLOORBOARD IS STAYING WET, LIKE STANDING WATER. I'VE RESEARCHED THE ISSUE AND IT APPEARS THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THEM. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AS IT MAKES IT FEET WET AND SLIP OFF THE BREAK AND GAS PEDDLES. WHY HASNT GM FIXED THIS? NOT TO COUNT THE ELECTRICAL PART INVOLVED! CAN WE SAY FIRE HAZARD?? COME ON GM, DO YOUR JOB!
BRAKE PEDAL STARTED VIBRATING ALMOST UNCONTROLLABLY WHEN ATTEMPTING TO STOP SO I HAD BRAKE PADS REPLACED. WHEN I PICKED UP THE CAR THE TECHNICIAN TOLD ME MY PADS WERE STILL GOOD AND HADN'T NEEDED CHANGING BUT THEY CHANGED ANYWAY. THE NEXT SHOP RESURFACED MY ROTORS BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTED. IT STOPPED ON IT'S OWN BUT EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE IT WILL DO IT STILL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKE EMERGING FROM THE VENTS ON THE DASHBOARD. AFTERWARDS, SMOKE STARTED TO EMERGE FROM THE SWITCH ON THE STEERING COLUMN. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STARTED THE VEHICLE AND SMOKE EMERGED FROM BEHIND THE STEERING WHEEL. THE FAILURE BEGAN ON APRIL 1, 2019. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 171,045.
I BOUGHT THIS CAR ABOUT 18 MONTHS AGO FROM A USED DEALER SHIP AFTER THE CAR TURNED 12 MONTHS THE CAR STARTED SAYING IT WAS OVER HEATING BUT WHEN LOOKING AT THE VEHICLE IT WAS NOT HOT AT ALL THE SENSOR JUST SAID OVERHEATING ALL THE WAY TO THE RED WHEN THE CAR READ OVERHEATING THE RADIATOR FLUID OVERFLOWED WITH OUT BEING HOT WHEN OPENING THE LID THERE WHERE AIR BUBBLES WITH NO HEAT. I HAVE SPENT OVER $1000 DOLLARS TRYING TO FIX THE PROBLEM WITH STILL NO SUCCESS WHEN IT SAID OVER HEATING THE CAR STARTS SLOWING DOWN AND THEN IT STOPS WHERE EVER YOU ARE AT RIGHT AWAY SOMETIMES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. WHEN AT TIME IT SAID OVER HEATING THE HEATER STOPS WORKING. I HAVE HAD TO LET THE AIR OUT SEVERAL TIME A DAY AND NOW IT SAID OVERHEATING AS SOON AS I LEAVE MY HOME. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH AND I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING OTHERS HAVE SUGGESTED BUT NOTHING WORKS. I HAVE GOT A NEW RADIATOR, WATER PUMP, TEMPERATURE SENSOR ,THERMOSTAT, FILTER AND STILL NOTHING. I TOOK IT TO GET IT CHECKED WITH THE COMPUTER AND 18 SENSORS WENT OFF AND 8 WHERE FAILED SENSORS. I WANTED TO BRING THIS TO YOUR ATTENTION IT HAS HAPPENED TO A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE JUST GOOGLE IT AND YOU WILL SEE. I JUST WANT PEOPLE TO BE SAFE AND THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE I HAVE CHILDREN AND I LIVE IN A AREA THAT HAS COLD WEATHER FOR 3 MONTHS. I HAVE BEEN STUCK IN THAT CAR WHEN IT READ OVER HEATING WHEN IT WAS NOT. I HAVE BOUGHT ABOUT OVER 39 BOTTLES OF RADIATOR FLUID TO KEEP IT FULL BUT ONE BOTTLE LAST ME LESS THE A DAY. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR LETTING ME INFORM YOU OF THIS CONCERN. I HAVE GOTTEN STUCK ON HE HIGHWAY AND STREET WITH MY KIDS. THE CAR IS NOW JUST SEATING IN MY DRIVE WAY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT MIST FROM THE HEATER BLEW INSIDE THE VEHICLE AND CREATED AN ABNORMAL ODOR. IN ADDITION, THE INSTRUMENT CONTROL INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE MIST PREVENTED THE CONTACT FROM SEEING OUT OF THE WINDOWS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT A NEW WATER PUMP WAS NEEDED. THE MECHANIC FLUSHED OUT THE SYSTEM AND PLACED A NEW HEAT SYSTEM IN THE ENGINE WITH NEW ANTI-FREEZE. THE FAILURE RECURRED LATER THE SAME WEEK. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 167,000.
WEAK PLASTIC IN THE BLEND DOOR OF THE HVAC SYSTEM CAUSES DOOR TO BREAK AND GET STUCK IN THE "COLD" POSITION. NO HEAT IN SNOW AND FREEZING RAIN MEANS YOUR WINDSHIELD WILL NOT DEFROST AND VISIBILITY DROPS BECOMING HAZARDOUS IN POOR WEATHER CONDITIONS.
TAKATA RECALL. WHEN YOU DRIVE THE CAR LONGER THEN 5 MINUTES IT OVER HEATS AND YOU LET IT COOL DOWN AND START TO DRIVE THEN OVER HEATS AGAIN BUT IT HAS ENOUGH COOLANT IN IT AND YOU FIX THE THERMOSTAT AND FLUSH THE SYSTEM. AND THERE IS NO HEAT IN THE CAR WHAT SO EVER.
I AM NOT EXACTLY SURE WHAT IT IS THAT'S WRONG WITH MY CAR IT HAS TO DO WITH MY BRAKES AND THE PEDAL.. I THOUGHT THE BRAKE PADS WERE BAD. WHEN I CHANGED THEM IT HAD ALMOST BRAND NEW ONES ON.. MY TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT STAYS ON AND MY ABS LIGHT STAYS ON.. THE PEDAL HAS HARD SPOTS IN IT AND IT JUST GRINDS LIKE THE PADS ARE BAD WHEN I HIT MY BRAKES! ITS NOT SAFE AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT! MY RESEARCH SHOWS I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS CAR THAT HAS THE PROBLEM. ITS BEEN A PROBLEM FOR A BIT NOW.. I JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR AND VERY DISAPPOINTED.. I HAVE 2 KIDS AND CAN'T EVEN FIX MY BRAKE PROBLEM BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO FIX AND CAN'T AFFORD TO TO REPLACE IT ALL.. THE PROBLEM IS MAINLY WHEN DRIVING SLOW THROUGH TOWNS THE BRAKES PEDAL LOCKS AND IT GRINDS AND I HAVE TO PUMP IT SEVERAL TIMES TO TRY AND GET IT TO WORK.. THEN I HAVE TO MY E BRAKE IF IT DON'T.. WHILE TURNING ON THE CAR AND DRIVING THE TC, BRAKE LIGHT, ABS, ENGINE, AND AIR BAG LIGHTS TURN ON AND THE CAR TURNS OFF BUT CONTINUES TO DRIVE. AS YOU DRIVE IT CONTINUES TO RING THE BELLS AND TURN ON OF THE OFF AND ON INCLUDING THE RADIO. YOU CAN ALSO PULL THE KEY OUT AND IT CONTINUES TO DRIVE. ALL THIS ON HIGHWAY AND CITY STREETS.
WATER IS FLOODING INTO THE CABIN. SEEMS TO DO SO AFTER DECENT ABOUT OF RAIN.
AS I WAS AT STOP LIGHT 3 DAYS AGO AND AT A LOW SPEED AND ABOUT TO STOP MY ABS BRAKING SYSTEM ACTIVATED WITHOUT ANY INDICATOR LIGHTS AND IN DOING SO IT RELEASED THE BRAKES EVEN THOUGH I WAS STILL PRESSING THEM. I AVOIDED HITTING THE CAR AHEAD OF BY SHOVING IT INTO PARK. IT DOES IT EVERY TIME I ATTEMPT TO STOP AND NOW HAVE TO USE MY EMERGENCY BRAKES TO ACTUALLY COME TO A COMPLETE STOP WHEN ABS ACTIVATES AND RELEASES BRAKES. DEALERSHIP RECOMMENDED I REPLACE MY FRONT BRAKES AND THEY TRIED TO SAY IT WAS ALSO THE TIRES. THEY WERE ABLE TO REPRODUCE IT BUT NEVER FIXED THE PROBLEM. THEY DID NOT LET ME KNOW IT WASN'T FIXED AND NEARLY ROLLED OUT ONTO A HEAVY TRAFFIC ROAD. I CALLED THEM AND INFORMED THEM WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND ASKED WHY THEY LET ME DRIVE A UNSAFE VEHICLE BUT WHEN I ASKED THAT THEY REMOVE THE FUSE FOR THE ABS SYSTEM UNTIL I CAN FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG. THEY SAID THAT WAS UNSAFE AND NOT LEGAL FOR THEM TO REMOVE THE FUSE. I ASKED POHANKA CHEVY HOW IS THAT ANY MORE OR LESS UNSAFE THEN NO BRAKES TO STOP. IT IS THE ABS BRAKING SYSTEM THAT IS FAILING FOR SOME REASON AND WHY HASN'T THIS BEEN RECALLED TO FIX. POHANKA ONLY OFFERED A APOLOGY BUT WILL NOT FIX OR HELP AND I NOW HAVE A UNSAFE VEHICLE THAT COULD FAIL ME AND CAUSE ME TO HAVE A ACCIDENT. I SPENT $785.41 AND THEY DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE. I HAVE ALSO REPORTED THEM TO MY STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S CONSUMER DIVISION OFFICE. I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR 12 YEARS AND I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF IT. NEVER HAD THIS KIND OF PROBLEM UNTIL 3 DAYS AGO. DO A RECALL ON THIS ABS BRAKING SYSTEM!
RAN HOT .BLOWN HEAD GASGET
BRAKES LOCKING IN THE 20-35 MPH RANGE. LOCKS WHILE SLOWING DOWN AND VAN SMELLS VEHICLE GETTING HOT. HAVE TAKEN TO A FIRESTONE AND CHEVY DEALER AND COMPLETED ALL SUGGESTED REPAIRS, ALTHOUGH NO ONE WAS ABLE TO GIVE ME A DEFINITIVE REASON TO THE BRAKES LOCKING. REPAIRS DID NOT FIX BRAKE LOCKING ISSUE.
THE GAS TANK IS LEAKING FUEL A FARE AMOUNT. IT BEGAN THIS SUMMER HERE IN MESA AZ. WE BOUGHT THE CAR IN JUNE OF 2017 AND HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH FUEL LEAKING UNTIL THIS SUMMER. NOW IT HAS BECOME A HAZARD AND FROM WHAT I CAN SEE, IT IS COMING FROM THE FUEL TANK. THE PROBLEM BEGAN IN LATE JULY AND I HAVE LEFT IT PARKED SINCE. IT HAS BECOME AN SERIOUS LEAK. BECAUSE THE FUEL EVAPORATES QUICKLY, I HAVE NOT TAKEN ANY PICTURES. IT DID MAKE A SIX INCH PUDDLE UNDER THE TANK HERE IN THE DRIVE WAY THE LAST TIME I MOVED THE CAR A FEW FEET FROM ONE SIDE TO THE OTHER OF THE DRIVE. I HAVE NOT DRIVEN IT SINCE.
THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. ON-STAR CODES ARE P0137 AND P0128. I HAVE 81,368 MILES/130948,843750 KM. I WAS DRIVING.
IN APRIL OF 2015 I PURCHASED A 2006 CHEVY EQUINOX FROM SID DILLION CHEVY DEALERSHIP. APPROXIMATELY 1 MONTH AFTER HAVING THE VEHICLE IT RAINED AND WATER HAD LEAKED INTO DRIVER SIDE FLOOR BOARD. WHEN I STARTED THE VEHICLE IT STARTED BUT THERE WAS NO ACLERATION AND THE CAR WOULDN'T DRIVE WHEN PUT IN GEAR. I INFORMED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS INSTRUCTED TO BRING THE VECHICAL BACK OUT THE DEALERSHIP TO BE LOOKED AT. IN FINDING THEY INFORMED ME THAT IT WAS SUNROOF DRAIN THAT BACKUP AND LEAKED WATER INTO MY DRIVER SIDE FLOOR BOARD, ALSO LEAKING WATER ON TO THE THROTTLE SENSOR WHICH IS LOCATED ON THE GAS PEDAL. THEY INFORMED ME THAT DRAIN HAD BEEN BLOWN OUT AND THE ERROR CODE WAS RESET AND THE VECHICAL RAN AGAIN. THIS PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN A FEW MONTHS LATER AND I WAS AGAIN INSTRUCTED TO BRING THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, THIS THE SAME PROCEDURE WAS DONE AS BEFORE AND I ASKED WHAT CAN BE DONE TO FIX THIS PROBLEM AND WAS INFORMED THAT DUE TO THE DESIGN OF THE SUNROOFS DRAIN, WHEN IT RAINS I WILL HAVE WATER THAT LEAKS INTO VECHICAL IF THERE IS LARGE AMOUNTS OF RAIN AND THAT BECAUSE THERE ARE NO BROKEN PARTS THE PROBLEM CAN NOT BE FIXED. I INFORMED CHEVROLET MAIN CENTER OF THE ISSUE AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE HAS NEVER BEEN ANY RECALLS ON THE VECHICAL AND TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE PROBLEM FIXED. I'VE TAKEN PREVENTIVE MEASURES BUT KEEPING THE DRIAN CLEARED AND WHEN THE PROBLEM HAPPENS RESETTING THE ERROR CODES, BUT LAST WEEK 06-07-18 I HAD THE LINE CLEARED AND THE FOLLOWING DAY IT RAINED AND THE THROTTLE SENSOR ERRORED RESET THE CODE AND VECHICAL RAN. YESTERDAY WHILE DRIVING I GOT CAUGHT IN HEAVY RAINFALL THE VECHICAL COMPLETELY STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF A 4 LANE BUSY ROAD AND WOULD NOT MOVE, WATER BEGAN LEAKING INTO THE DRIVER SIDE AND ALSO FROM THE PEDAL AND INTIOR LIGHTS. I'M VERY FEARFUL OF DRIVING THE VECHICAL. THIS PROBLEM IS VERY DANGEROUS AND UNSAFE.
AT A LOW SPEED BRAKES WERE APPLIED AND THE CAR CONTINUED TO MOVE FORWARD WITHOUT STOPPING. IT SEEMED AS IF THE ABS SYSTEM ENGAGED. NO BRAKES AS MY CAR CONTINUED TO MOVE FORWARD AT THIS LOW SPEED EVENTUALLY REAR ENDING ANOTHER CAR AS MINE NEVER STOPPED. THE BRAKES HAD JUST BEEN REPLACED 2 YEARS PRIOR. I HAD THIS CAR CHECKED SEVERAL TIMES FOR THIS SAME INCONSISTENT BRAKE ISSUE BUT NOTHING WAS NEVER FOUND. AT TIMES THERE WOULD BE A GRINDING NOISE WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES AND MY FOOT WOULD JUST GO TO THE FLOOR WITH NO STOPPING. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT GM HAS NEVER ADDRESSED THIS ISSUE. I HAVE SPENT SO MUCH MONEY OVER THE YEARS TO TRY AND ADDRESS THE ISSUE AND NO MECHANIC COULD EVER FIGURE IT OUT. NOW MY CAR IS TOTALED AND I HAVE AN INSURANCE BILL THAT IS NOT ONLY COSTLY BUT NOT FAIR. GM SEEMS TO HAVE TAKEN NO ACCOUNTABILITY AND I JUST HOPE NO ONE ENDS UP HURT. I CAN'T EVEN IMAGINE IF I WAS TRYING TO STOP AT A CROSSWALK WHAT MAY HAVE HAPPENED. I WAS BORROWING MY GRANDFATHERS CAR AND FEEL TERRIBLE.
ONE WIPER BLADE QUIT FUNCTIONING AND CAUSES SEVERE DANGER TO THE DRIVER. HEATER QUIT WORKING CAUSING FOGGING ISSUES AND KEEPING MY KIDS & WIFE IN DANGER. APPARENTLY THESE ISSUES ARE VERY COMMON ACCORDING TO THE 2009 REPORT GM RECALLED 59,000 VEHICLES FOR THIS ISSUE BUT OUR VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL.
1. MY ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT COME ON ALMOST EVERYTIME I DRIVE THE CAR. MOST OF THE TIME THEY COME ON FOR NO REASON, JUST DRIVING ON SMOOTH/GOOD ROAD CONDITIONS THEY COME ON OR PULLING OUT OF A DRIVEWAY. 2. DOESN'T MATTER IF THE ABS LIGHT IS ON OR OFF, I'VE HAD TO SMASH DOWN ON THE BRAKE PEDAL NUMEROUS TIMES SO I DON'T HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME BECAUSE THE BREAKS FEEL LIKE THEY AREN'T GRABBING. LUCKILY MY DAUGHTER WASN'T IN THE CAR ANY OF THE TIMES IT'S HAPPENED. I HAD THE CAR LOOKED AT BY A TECHNICIAN AT A CHEVY DEALERSHIP AND HE FOUND NO ISSUES WITH THE BRAKES. 3. THE FRONT END OF THIS VEHICLE IS HORRIBLE. I'VE REPLACED THE FRONT HUBS RECENTLY, AND THAT DID NO GOOD WITH EITHER OF THESE ISSUES. 3. I WAS GOING THROUGH A DRIVE THRU, AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE E-BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON, LOUD SOUND CAME OUT OF SPEAKERS WHEN I TURNED THE WHEEL, AND A NUMBER OF LIGHTS ON THE DASH CAME ON. LUCKILY GOT OUT OF THE DRIVE THRU, AND SHUT THE CAR OFF, AND IT WOULDN'T TURN BACK ON. IT JUMPED STARTED BUT WE FIGURED OUT THAT THE WIRE FROM THE STARTED TO THE ALTERNATOR WAS LOOSE AND CAUSING IT TO NOT CHARGE THE BATTERY. WE TIGHTENED IT DOWN AND IT FIXED THAT PROBLEM. 4. I GOT INTO MY CAR, STARTED IT UP, AND WENT TO REVERSE AND THERE WAS NO POWER STEERING. I PULLED BACK INTO THE SPOT AND TURNED OFF THE CAR & THEN BACK ON & IT CAME BACK. MY HUSBAND WAS JUST DRIVING THE CAR BEFORE ME AND HE HAD NO ISSUES. I HOPE THERE IS SOMETHING RECALLED ON THIS CAR. I'VE SEEN SO MANY PEOPLE WITH THESE SAME TYPE OF COMPLAINTS. IT'S DANGEROUS!!!
VEHICLE WILL NOT START! PROBLEM BEGAN WHEN KEY FOB UNLOCK BUTTON WOULD NOT WORK, SO KEY WAS USED TO OPEN DOOR, ALARM ACTIVATED, DEACTIVATED ALARM, TRIED TO START, LOCKED CAR ICON INDICATING SECURITY SYSTEM ACTIVATED AND WILL NOT RELEASE, EVEN WHEN DISCONNECTING THE CAR BATTERY AND RECONNECTING IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED, THE HEAT IN THE VEHICLE DID NOT WORK, AND THE VEHICLE OVERHEATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO COULD NOT DIAGNOSIS THE FAILURE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 127,000.
LOSS CONTROL OF POWER STEERING WHILE DRIVING STABILIZER LIGHT CAME ON COULDN'T TURN STEERING WHEEL.
VEHICLE DOES NOT GET WARM. BLOWS COLD AIR.
MY HEATER ONLY BLOWS COLD AIR. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. WHEN MY WINDSHIELD HAS A LAYER OF FROST OR SNOW ON IT, I HAVE NO ABILITY TO CLEAR IT BY WAY OF UTILIZING MY DEFROST. I DRIVE WITH ALL OF MY WINDOWS DOWN AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS MOVING CONSTANTLY IN ATTEMPTS TO SEE. CHEVY IS AWARE THAT THEY MADE A PART THAT IS DEFECTIVE. THEY EXTENDED A WARRANTY ON A CHEAP PLASTIC PART THAT TENDS TO BREAK AT 60,000 THAT WAS COVERED UNTIL 2016 OR 120,000 MILES. I HOWEVER DID NOT HAVE ANY ISSUES UNTIL OUTSIDE OF THE WARRANTY. I DON'T SCAN RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE IF I'M NOT EXPERIENCING ISSUES AT THE TIME. MY CHEAP DEFECTIVE PART BROKE WHEN UNDER 58,000 MILES AND UNFORTUNATELY IN 2017. CHEVY HIDES BEHIND THIS AND IS NOT WILLING TO FIX A DEFECTIVE PART AND ULTIMATELY DEFECTIVE MANUFACTURING. THIS IS A DEFECTIVE MANUFACTURING ISSUE THAT CHEVY DOES NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR AND IS ULTIMATELY A SAFETY ISSUE. CHEVY NEEDS TO PAY FOR IT TO BE FIXED-PERIOD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. AFTER RESTARTING THE VEHICLE, THE HEATER BLOWER ONLY BLEW OUT COLD AIR AND WAS UNABLE TO DEFROST THE WINDSHIELD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER (JIM BUTLER CHEVROLET IN FENTON, MO) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BLOWER ARM WAS DAMAGED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
BROUGHT VEHICLE IN DUE TO NO HEAT - THEY INFORMED ME THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL ON THE 200 EQUINOX FOR THE HEATER CORE - AT THIS POINT I AM OUTSIDE THE 10 YR AND THE 120000 MILE WARRANTIES FOR THE RECALL. I BELIEVE IF THERE IS A RECALL IT SHOULD BE HONORED AT ANY TIME THE SITUATION ARISES IF NO FORMER KNOWLEDGE IS KNOWN OF THE SITUATION.
WITHIN THE LAST MONTH WHILE I AM DRIVING MY TRUCK WOULD JUST CUT OFF WITH OUT ANY WARNING IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. I HAVE HAD A TUNE UP, THE LEFT WHEEL BARRING CHANGED, FRONT STRUTS DONE AND I HAVE JUST BROUGHT A PCM. MY ABS AND TC LIGHTS STAYS ON AND MY MECHANIC CAN NOT EXPLAIN WHY IT KEEPS CUTTING OFF. I HAVE CHECKED FOR RECALLS FOR THIS YEAR AND THERE ARE NONE LISTED; HOWEVER, I HAVE SEEN SOME ON THE NHTSA SERVICE BULLETIN. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE ASSIST ME THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS!!!!

I HAVE DONE PLENTY OF RESEARCH OVER THIS AND IT SEEMS TO BE A RECURRING THING WITH THESE VEHICLES. IF EVERYONE OF THEM IS HAVING THIS ISSUE AND THE BRAKES ARE THAT DANGEROUS, HOW HAS THERE NOT BEEN A RECALL. THIS HAPPENS EVERYTIME I DRIVE, WHETHER GOING DOWN AN INTERSTATE AND HAVING TO HOT MY BRAKES TO JUST DRIVING IN A SMALL TOWN, THEN WHEN I TRY AND GO AGAIN THEY MAKE THE GRINDING NOISE WHILE DRIVING FOR A MINUTE.
TEMPERATURE BLEND DOOR CAN CAUSE ACCIDENT CAUSE IT WON'T DEFROST WINDOWS
THE KEY CAN BE REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION WHILE THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING OR WHILE IN ANY OTHER POSITION. THERE WAS A RECALL ON OTHER MODELS FOR THIS EXACT SAME ISSUE, BUT NO RECALL WAS MADE FOR MY VEHICLE.
BOUGHT MY 06 EQINOX IN MAY OF 2015. DAY 2, BATTERY DIED. DEALER PUT NEW BATTERY IN. NEXT WEEK, BATTERY DEAD AND TOOK OUT STEREO WITH IT. DEALER REPLACED BATTERY AND STEREO. NOW HAVING TROUBLE STARTING AGAIN. HAVE REPLACED BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS TWICE ON REAR WHEELS AND FRONT ONCE. CAR MAKES GRINDING NOISE STILL WHEN BACKING WITH FOOT ON THE BRAKE. ABS AND TC LIGHTS CAME ON MAY OF 2017. HAD CHECKED OUT AND NEEDED FRONT RIGHT WHEEL SPEED SENSOR REPLACED. REPLACED IT AND LIGHT STAYED ON. HAD IT RECHECKED AND IT STILL READS THE SAME. NO BRAKES. PEDAL STUTTERS ON THE WAY DOWN AND THEN HAS TO BE FORCED DOWN THE REST OF THE WAY TO STOP THE CAR. HAD MECHANIC LOOK AT IT AND WAS TOLD TO REPLACE ABS MODULE. WE DID AND I FINALLY HAVE BRAKES AGAIN BUT NOW MY BREAK LIGHT IS ON ALONG WITH THE ABS/TC LIGHTS. CAR HAS SUNROOF. HAD CAR 2 YEARS AND ALL OF A SUDDEN MY BACK FLOOR IS FLOODED. THOUGHT THE KIDS SPILLED WATER. NOPE. SOAKED A BEACH TOWEL CLEANING IT UP. NEXT HARD RAIN, FLOODED AGAIN. LINES ARE CLOGGED AND BACKING UP INTO MY CAR. TWO BEACH TOWELS AND TWO GALLONS LATER OF WATER VACUUMED UP AND MY PADDING IS DAMP AND STILL STINKS LIKE MILDEW. THIS CAR IS BADLY DESIGNED. THE BRAKE SITUATION IS VERY DANGEROUS. LUCKILY THERE WAS AN EMPTY TURN LANE BESIDE ME WHEN IT RAINED OR I WOULD HAVE HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD GO TO THE FLOOR WHEN TURNING AND WOULDNT STOP ON STRAIGHTAWAYS. THE ELECTRICAL WIRING IN THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR IS JACKED UP TOO. CAN'T UNLOCK THE DOORS, TURN ON DOME LIGHT AND DOESN'T SHUT OFF RADIO.
ABS ENGAGES AT LOW SPEEDS, MAKES BRAKE PEDAL VERY DIFFICULT TO DEPRESS AND DIFFICULT TO STOP VEHICLE. (THIS OCCURS REGARDLESS OF TURNING/GOING STRAIGHT, AND HAPPENS RANDOMLY WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS PRESSED AND/OR WHEN IT'S RELEASED, AND SOMETIMES WHEN I'M NOT TOUCHING THE BRAKE PEDAL AT ALL.) THIS OCCURS DAILY, AND AFTER SOME TIME, THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHTS WILL COME ON IN THE DASHBOARD. ONCE THE WARNING LIGHTS ACTIVATE, THE PROBLEM GOES AWAY. SERVICED IN 4/2017 AT CERTIFIED GARAGE, AND WHEEL HUB ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED. THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. ONLINE AUTO FORUM RESEARCH SHOWS MANY EARLY MODEL EQUINOX OWNERS EXPERIENCING THE SAME EXACT ISSUE, GOING ALL THE WAY BACK TO 2011. CHEVROLET HAS NO RECALLS THAT I'VE FOUND - BUT CLEARLY THERE ARE A NUMBER OF EQUINOX OWNERS EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES, WITH NO RESPONSE FROM CHEVROLET. I'VE BEEN FORTUNATE ENOUGH THAT THIS HASN'T CAUSED AN ACCIDENT YET... BUT I BELIEVE THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE EXAMINED BEFORE SOMETHING DESTRUCTIVE OR TRAGIC OCCURS. I WILL CONTINUE TO ATTEMPT TO HAVE THE ISSUE DIAGNOSED AT CERTIFIED ASE GARAGES.
