TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE AIRBAG OFF LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE WITH AN AVERAGE SIZED ADULT SEATED IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE SENSORS WERE WORKING CORRECTLY. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE AIR BAGS: FRONTAL: SENSOR/CONTROL MODULE (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID # 07V344000) HOWEVER, THE DEALER STATED THAT HIS VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE CONTACT FELT THAT HIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE INCLUDED AS PART OF THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 7,100. UPDATED02-14-08 *BF UPDATED 02/14/08 *TR
PURCHASED VEHICLE IN SEPT 07 AND STARTED NOTICING A KNOCKING NOISE FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE AT ABOUT 2000 MILES. THE NOISE WOULD OCCUR DURING SLOW REVERSE, SLOW FORWARD, AND TURNING AT SLOW SPEEDS AT INTERMITTENT TIMES. WE HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THREE DIFFERENT DEALERS AND THEY HAVE ALL STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT HEAR THE NOISE. I AM CURRENTLY AT 21,000 MILES AND WE STILL HEAR THE NOISE AND WE CAN NOT FIND ANYONE WILLING TO PERFORM THE PROPER CHECK ON THE VEHICLE TO LOCATE THE CAUSE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD SQUEAKING NOISE COMING FROM THE BRAKING SYSTEM. THE NOISE WAS PRIMARILY HEARD AFTER THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN SHUT OFF FOR SEVERAL HOURS. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE NOISE IS A NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC OF THE VEHICLE AND THAT NO REMEDY WAS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. HE IS IN THE PROCESS OF NOTIFYING THE MANUFACTURER. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 25,100.
WHEN WEATHER TURNS COLDER THAN APPROXIMATELY 50 DEGREES, WINDOWS BECOME FOGGY. DEFROSTER SET AT HIGHEST FAN SETTING WILL NOT CLEAR FOG FROM WINDOWS. CONSTANT MUSTY SMELL IN VEHICLE, PARTICULARLY WHEN USING AIR CONDITIONING OR DEFROSTER. HAD TAKEN VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP TO REMEDY APPROX 2 INCHES OF STANDING WATER IN SPARE TIRE WHEEL WELL AND WAS TOLD CAUSE WAS A "PINE NEEDLE STUCK IN THE DRAINAGE HOLE OF THE REAR TAILLIGHT HOUSING"???? I BELIEVE THAT THERE IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH WATER LEAKAGE IN THIS VEHICLE. HAVE RESEARCHED AND FOUND A TSB PERTAINING TO DIAGNOSING WATER LEAKAGE. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP TO ADDRESS ISSUE OF EXCESSIVE FOGGING, AND WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I FIND THIS RIDICULOUS, AS I EXPERIENCE THE ISSUE DAILY WHEN TEMPERATURES DROP BELOW 50 DEGREES. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, AS I CONSTANTLY HAVE TO ROLL DOWN ALL FOUR WINDOWS BEFORE MAKING ANY TURNS OR CHANGING LANES. WHEN TEMPERATURES DROPPED TO THE 20'S, FOGGING TURNED TO A THIN LAYER OF FROST COVERING ALL WINDOWS. FOGGING TAKES PLACE ON WINDSHIELD, ALL FOUR PASSENGER WINDOWS, AND SIDELIGHT WINDOWS. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. SUSPECT ISSUE WITH A SEAL OR BREACH OF FRAME, ETC. WATER HAS GOTTEN INTO AIR CONDITIONING/DEFROST SYSTEM AND IS CAUSING A MOLD PROBLEM. PLEASE ADDRESS. MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS SIMILAR IN NATURE FOUND ON YOUR WEBSITE AND ALSO VIA INTERNET SEARCH ENGINES. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VERY FIRST DAY HE TOOK THE VEHICLE HOME, IT BROKE DOWN. ALL THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS ILLUMINATED AND FLICKERED, AND THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE WOULD COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN AND LOST ALL POWER STEERING AND BRAKING ABILITY. THE COMPUTER WOULD RESET ITSELF AND THEN RESTART. THE FAILURE WOULD OCCUR INTERMITTENTLY. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER APPROXIMATELY 14-15 TIMES AND THEY ATTEMPTED TO REPAIR THE FAILURE, BUT IT WAS NEVER REMEDIED. AFTER HE STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS A LEMON, THE DEALER STATED THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. HE CONSULTED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS INFORMED THAT IF THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 6,025 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 10.
VEHICLE PURCHASED ON SEPTEMBER 1, 2007 (2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX LT). ON TWO(2) SEPARATE OCCASIONS, THE LATEST BEING TODAY, THE VEHICLE HYDROPLANED ON WET ROADWAY. TODAY THE VEHICLE HYDROPLANED THREE (3) TIMES AND ON ONE OCCURRANCE I ALMOST LOST CONTROL. THESE TIRES ARE DANGEROUS!!!!! THE CORRECT TIRE SIZE IS 235/60R17. I HAD 2 CHEVY EQUINOX 2007 MODEL, LOADED. FIRST VEHICLE REPURCHASED DUE TO MULTIPLE EPISODES OF STABILITRAK FAILURE, TURN SIGNALS QUIT WORKING, RADIO PROBLEMS, PASSENGER SYSTEM AIRBAG NOT WORKING, AND FINALLY FAILURE OF MAIN AIRBAG SYSTEM. GIVEN EXACT TWIN OF FIRST CAR, AS THOUGHT THAT CAR WAS JUST A LEMON. 2ND EQUINOX HAD 2 EPISODES OF STABILITRAK FAILURE, AND A NEW STEERING COLUMN PLACED, AND THEN HAD TOTAL SYSTEM FAILURE OF THE STEERING, BRAKES, GAS, STABILITRAK, AND AIRBAG SYSTEM WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. I HAD ABSOLUTELY NO CONTROL OVER ANY OF THESE SYSTEMS! YOU COULD TURN MY STEERING WHEEL 360 DEGREES, AND THE WHEELS NEVER MOVED, THE BRAKES DIDN'T WORK, THE GAS DIDN'T WORK, AND ALL ALARMS WERE GOING OFF THAT THE SYSTEMS, INCLUDING THE AIRBAGS WERE NOT WORKING. LUCKILY, NO ONE WAS INJURED AS I HAD JUST BEGUN MAKING A TURN INTO ROADWAY AND ALL VEHICLES COMING AT ME BOTH WAYS WERE ABLE TO SWERVE, AND THE CAR WAS GOING SLOW ENOUGH AND OVER A SLIGHT INCLINE THAT IT ROLLED TO A STOP JUST BEFORE HITTING A STEEL LIGHT POST. THIS CAR WAS ALSO REPURCHASED. SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG IN THE ENGINEERING OF THIS VEHICLE AND I AM CONCERNED FOR ALL THE OTHER PEOPLE OWNING/DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. *TR
ENGINE LIGHT TURNS ON AND SAYS THE STABILITRAK NEEDS SERVICING AS WELL AS THE TRACTION CONTROL AND THAT THEY ARE OFF, ALSO SAYS THAT ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED. THIS HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 5 TIMES IN THE PAST 2 MONTHS AND EACH TIME THAT I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT, THE LIGHT GOES OFF AND THE DEALER SAYS THEY CANNOT DIAGNOSE WITHOUT A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. THIS CONCERNS ME. AUTOZONE HOOKED UP THERE LITTLE GADGET WHILE IT WAS ON ONCE AND INDICATED THAT THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR MAY BE THE CULPRIT, SAID IT CAME UP THREE TIMES. POWER STEERING COLUMN LOCKS UP WHEN I TURN ON VEHICLE, THIS HAS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES IN THE PAST 3 YEARS, EACH TIME I TAKE TO DEALER, THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND THEREFORE CANNOT FIX IT. I HAVE HAD VEHICLE SINCE JULY OF 2007. MY CURRENT MILEAGE IS 42,998 THE FIRST ERROR WITH COLUMN STARTED PROBABLY IN OCTOBER OF 2007 AND OCCURS EVERY SO OFTEN BUT BY THE TIME I GET IT TO DEALER, IT CANNOT BE DUPLICATED. WHAT I HAVE TO DO IS TURN THE CAR ON AND OFF UNTIL IT "REGISTERS" AND THEN THE COLUMN WORKS OTHERWISE IT IS VERY STIFF AND HARD TO NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN.
ON MY 2007 CHEVORLET EQUINOX, CRUISE CONTROL SHOULD BE ENDED WHEN STEPPING LIGHTLY ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. MINE DOES NOT, IT IS NECESSARY TO PRESS VERY HARD TO CANCEL THE CRUISE CONTROL. *TR
THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG LIGHT REPORTS THAT THE AIR BAG IS OFF ON AN INTERMITTENT BASIS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. WHILE PARKED, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE ABS AND STABLE TRACK WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE HOWEVER, RESET THE COMPUTER BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE WARNING LIGHTS CONTINUED TO ILLUMINATE INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE EGR VALVE WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A MAJOR FUEL LEAK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 12V459000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). ALSO, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FAILED INTERMITTENTLY ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS AND MULTIPLE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 09V489000 (VISIBILITY). IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LAMP WAS ILLUMINATE FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME AND IT WAS NOT CONFIRMED BY THE LOCAL DEALER IF THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBERS: 07V520000 (AIR BAGS) AND 07V344000 (AIR BAGS). THE VEHICLE WAS TO BE FURTHER INSPECTED IN ORDER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,500. UPDATED 08/28/14*LJ UPDATED 09/4/2014 *JS THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS REPEATEDLY TAKEN TO THE DEALER, DUE TO LOSS OF POWER. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE, THE ENGINE BEGAN JERKING AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CONSTANTLY STAYED ON. THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING, ALSO. UPDATED 10/15/14. *JB
2007 CHEVY EQUINOX WITH TRANSMISSION FAILURE. CUSTOMER STATES THE VEHICLE STARTED BUCKING WHEN IT WAS SHIFTING GEARS. SHE STATED THAT THE DEALER SAID IT WAS THE POWER STEERING. SHE STATED THE ENGINE AND STABILITRAK LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. *KB NOT LONG AFTER THE CONSUMER PICKED THE VEHICLE UP FROM THE DEALER, THE VEHICLE REPEATED THE SAME NOISE AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE FORWARD WHILE IN DRIVE. THE CONSUMER HAD TO DRIVE IN REVERSE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO A SAFE PLACE *JB
I BOUGHT A 2007 CHEVY EQUINOX NEW. A COUPLE OF DAYS AFTER TAKING IT HOME A STRANGE PROBLEM STARTED OCCURRING, AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM BETWEEN THE LEFT SPEAKERS AND THE DIRECTIONALS. A LOUD RAPID NOISE WOULD SUDDENLY COME THROUGH THE LEFT SPEAKERS AS I WAS DRIVING AND WOULD CONTINUE UNTIL I USED THE TURN SIGNAL (EITHER DIRECTION). I HAD THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES. FIRST I WAS TOLD THERE WAS AN INTERMITTENT SHORT IN THE RADIO, BUT THE RADIO REPLACEMENT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THEN THE LEFT TWEETER SPEAKER WAS CHANGED, THE RADIO RECALIBRATED (THREE TIMES), THE RADIO SOFTWARE UPDATED, AND FINALLY THE BODY CONTROL MODULE CHANGED. NONE OF THESE THINGS FIXED THE PROBLEM. THE GM ENGINEER LOOKED AT IT TWICE AND STILL COULDN'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD NO OTHER GM PRODUCT IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AS MY VEHICLE. WHEN I WENT TO THE GENERAL MANAGER OF THE DEALERSHIP AND TOLD HIM OF THE PROBLEM AND THAT THE VEHICLE WAS A LEMON, HE CONTACTED THE GM DISTRICT REP, WHO REFUSED TO REPLACE THE VEHICLE. I WAS FORCED TO TAKE GM TO ARBITRATION, AND NOW I AM GETTING MY MONEY BACK PLUS MY FILING FEE. THE PROBLEM IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SIGNIFICANTLY IMPAIRS THE VALUE OF THE VEHICLE. I AM TURNING THE EQUINOX IN NEXT WEEK, TAKING MY MONEY AND BUYING A HONDA CR-V. I WOULD NOT ADVISE ANYONE TO BUY AN EQUINOX AFTER MY EXPERIENCE, AND ESPECIALLY GM'S ATTITUDE. IN FACT, I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER GM PRODUCT. IF YOU HAVE HAD YOUR EQUINOX TO THE DEALER AT LEAST 4 TIMES FOR THE SAME PROBLEM AND ARE STILL GETTING THE RUN AROUND AND NO RESOLUTION, FIRST WRITE TO THE CHEVY CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE CENTER FOR HELP IN REPAIRING THE VEHICLE. YOU WILL NEED TO DO THIS IN ORDER TO REQUEST A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE OR A REPURCHASE. SECOND, DON'T LET GM KEEP STRINGING YOU ALONG. FILE FOR ARBITRATION UNDER YOUR STATE'S LEMON LAW PROGRAM. IT'LL COME TO THAT ANYWAY. PLEASE, READ THE REVIEWS AND THE AUTO BLOGS ABOUT THIS VEHICLE ON LINE. EVEN THE NEWEST MODELS RATE POORLY. *TR
MY BLINKER HAS NEVER WORKED RIGHT SINCE THE DAY I GOT THIS CAR, IT HAS BEEN BACK TO THE DEALER NO LESS THAN 4 TIMES FOR IT AND TO NO PREVAIL. *TR

THE PASSENGER AIR BAG ONLY COMES ON NOW & THEN. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE GARAGE NUMEROUS TIMES. I'VE EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENS. ALSO HAVE ISSUE WITH WIPES WORK, THEN NOT, BLINKERS WORK THEN NOT, BLINKERS DOUBLE CLICK. RADIO GETS REAL LOUD SOMETIMES, BEEPS WHEN DOOR OPEN REAL LOUD. HAVE REPLACED 3 BATTERIES & TWO STARTERS. BUT EVERYTIME IN GARAGE, HEAR "NOTHING WRONG". I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY CAR. I'M AFRAID IF I GET IN ACCIDENT MY AIR BAG WONT WORK. ALL THIS STARTED SIX MONTHS AFTER BOUGHT CAR. *TR
MY TRIP ODOMETER KEEPS RESETTING ON ITS OWN, WHEN YOUR GOING DOWN THE ROAD. ALSO MY CAR SOUNDS LIKE IT IS TAKING OFF WHEN STARTED THE FIRST TIME DURING THE DAY. I WAS TOLD IT WILL WARM UP AND GO AWAY. BUT IT SOUNDS LIKE THE EXHAUST IS FALLING OFF OR SOMETHING. I THINK THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE COMPUTER SINCE IT HAS BEEN. THE SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING ,THE PASSENGER AIR BAGS ON AND OFF LIGHT WAS GOING ON THEN OFF NOW NOT WORKING AT ALL THE POWER SEARING WENT OUT AND THEN BACK WORKING AFTER THE DEALER TRIED TO CHARGE MY WIFE 800 PLUS FOR PARTS NOT NEEDED ALL THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SENSE SHE FIRST BOUT IT OFF THE DEALER LOT BUT THEY REFUSED TO RESOLVE THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS THEY REPLACED THE SPEED ODOMETER AND EVEN NOTED IT IN THERE PAPER WORK THAT THERE WAS BODY ELECTRICAL ` PROBLEMS WITH THIS EQUINOX AND YET STILL REFUSE TO ETHER FIX IT OR REPLACE THE CAR WITH A EQUAL VALUE ALL THESE PROBLEMS WAS GOING ON BEFORE THE WARRANTY EVER RAN OUT AND WE HAVE NOW BEEN FIGHTING WITH THE DEALERS AND GM OVER THIS NOW FOR OVER 7 YEARS IT EVEN HAD THE KEY SWITCH THAT WONT WORK SOME TIMES AND SOMETIMES IT WILL LOCK UP AND CUT OFF WHEN GOING DOWN THE ROAD ITS DONE THIS TWICE NOW IN THE PAST YEAR I DON'T FEEL LIKE I NOR MY WIFE [XXX] SHOULD PAY TO FIX PROBLEMS ON THIS CAR DUE TO THE FACT THAT IT HAS ALL BEEN HAPPENING SINCE WE BOUT THE CAR NEW WITH LESS THAN A 100 MILES ON THIS CAR THE DEALERS KEEP SAYING THEY CANT MAKE ANY CODES COME UP BUT YET WHEN WE GO IN TO THEM WE SHOW THEM WHAT'S GOING ON WITH IT SCENE IT WAS NEW IM SICK OF THEM LIEING TO US AND NOT FIXING THERE PROBLEMS THEY KNOW THAT ARE WRONG WITH THIS TRUCK IF THEY NEW IT HAD ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH THE TRUCK WHEN THEY DID THE WORK ON THE TRUCK WHEN IT WAS NEW WHY DIDN'T THEY FIX IT INSTEAD OF LIEING AND COVERING UP IT AND LIEING TO MY WIFE IV HAD TO TAKE OFF FROM MY WORK NOW FOR A WEEK FIGHTING THESE PEOPLE AND IM SICK OF IT AND STILL HAVE TO PAY MORE MONEY OUT OFF MY POCKET OVER ALL THIS ISN'T FAR WHEN WE HAVE THE PAPER WORK FROM THEM STATING IT HAS ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS FROM DAY ONE. *TR
POWER STEERING FAILURE. IMMEDIATELY AFTER START UP POWER STEERING DID NOT OPERATE. DASHBOARD WARNING READ SERVICE STABILITRACK. DROVE HOME APPROXIMATELY 8 MILES WITHOUT POWER ASSIST. AFTER RESTARTING THE VEHICLE AT HOME POWER STEERING APPEARED TO BE NORMAL, BUT SERVICE STABILITRACK WARNING WAS STILL LIT. A QUICK LOOK ON THE INTERNET SHOWED MULTIPLE INSTANCES OF THIS PROBLEM IN CHEVROLET MALIBU WITH SIMILAR POWER STEERING. CAR WILL BE BROUGHT TO DEALER NEXT WEEK. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE.*AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE AIR BAG OFF INDICATOR LIGHT FAILS TO ILLUMINATE WHEN A PASSENGER IS SEATED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE DOES NOT OPERATE DUE TO BONE STRUCTURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 6,500 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,300. THE CONSUMER STATED AFTER 2 ATTEMPTS TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED SHE IS CONCERNED THIS IS A MAJOR MALFUNCTION AND LIFE THREATENING DEFECT AND WANTS TO REIMBURSED FOR THE VEHICLE PURCHASE TO REPURCHASE A DIFFERENT VEHICLE. I HAVE CHEVY EQUINOX 2007 WHICH HAVE PROBLEM IN THE STEERING(NOISE) WHICH THE DEALER COULDN'T FIX & THERE WAS SOME PROBLEM WITH OIL TANK WHICH SMELLS SO BAD WORRIES ME AS I DRIVE THIS TRUCK WITH MY 9 MTH OLD BABY WAS FIXED FORTUNATELY. *TR
TOOK MY 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX TO VALVOLINE FOR AN OIL CHANGE AT 4,365 MILES. I WAS TOLD THAT THE FRONT MAIN SEAL WAS LEAKING ON THE ENGINE AND THAT I HAD NO OIL IN MY ENGINE. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. THIS VEHICLE HAS FAILED IN THE FIELD UNDER 5,000 MILES. I WILL BE REQUESTING THAT THE ENGINE GOES BACK TO THE PLANT SO THAT THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN TO ANYONE ELSE. NEW ENGINE WILL BE SUPPLIED. *TR
I HAVE HAD MY 2007 EQUINOX SENSE 2007 AND THE FIRST FEW MONTH THE LEFT HEADLIGHT WENT OUT AND THEN A FEW MONTHS LATER IT WENT OUT AGAIN THIS HEADLIGHT HAS WENT OUT 5 TIMES AND THE LEFT HEADLIGHT HAS WENT OUT ABOUT 3 TIMES AND EACH TIME IT GOES TO WESTGATE CHEVORLET THEY CAN NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG BUT THEY ARE CHARGING ME EACH TIME I TAKE IT IN NOW. THE LEFT HEADLIGHT IS OUT AGAIN SO DO I NEED TO GET A LAWYER BECAUSE I DO NOT THINK THAT I SHOULD PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT KEEPS HAPPENING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. WHEN AN OCCUPANT WAS IN THE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT, THE AIR BAG TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND THE AIR BAG SENSOR WAS REPLACED. THE REPAIR DID NOT REMEDY THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON SEVERAL SEPARATE OCCASIONS FOR THE IDENTICAL FAILURES, IN WHICH THERE WERE NO RESOLUTIONS. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT AIR BAG SYSTEM WAS DESIGNED IMPROPERLY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 30,000. THE VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. EVER SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED, THE CONTACT HEARD A TICKING SOUND IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. HE STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD POOR FUEL MILEAGE. THE CONTACT ALSO HAD TO JUMP FROM THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THE SERPENTINE BELT CAUGHT A WIRE THAT WAS NOT IN A WIRING HARNESS AS IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN. THE CONTACT ALSO EXPERIENCED STABILATRAC FAILURE ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS, WHICH CAUSED THE POWER STEERING TO FAIL. HE HAS BEEN INJURED TWICE BECAUSE THE REAR HATCH DOOR STRUTS FAILED AND STRUCK HIM IN THE HEAD. THE TIRES THAT CAME ON THE VEHICLE WERE SEVERELY WORN AND THE TURN SIGNALS WOULD NOT SHUT OFF. THE TWO FRONT DOORS AND THE REAR HATCH DOOR CRACKS AND MAKES SQUEAKING NOISES. SOME REPAIRS HAVE BEEN MADE; HOWEVER, THE REAR HATCH NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED ALONG WITH THE TICKING SOUND IN THE ENGINE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 170 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 26,000.
I PURCHASED A 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX FROM JBA CHEVROLET WHICH HAS CONSISTENTLY DEMONSTRATED THAT THERE WERE PROBLEMS WHEN MAKING LEFT TURNS AND FEELING SECURE AND BALANCED IN THE VEHICLE. WHILE I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS, 5-6 TIMES MY CONCERNS HAVE BEEN IGNORED. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THERE WAS NO PROBLEM. I HAVE OWNED AT LEAST 9 VEHICLES IN MY LIFETIME ,AND I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THE UNCOMFORTABLE, UNSAFE AND UNBALANCED TURMOIL THAT I AM HAVING WITH THIS CAR. I HAVE BEEN ADVISED BY MR. TIRE IN GLEN BURNIE, MARYLAND THAT THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE. THE AXLE WAS NOT BUILT TO CHEVROLET SPECIFICATIONS ,AND THE AUTOMOBILE SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN SOLD TO ME. WHILE I CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THIS CONCERN, AND I AM CURRENTLY CONSIDERING RETURNING THE AUTOMOBILE TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND ULTIMATELY RENTING/LEASING AN AUTOMOBILE WHICH WAS SAFE FOR ME AND MY DAUGHTER. I FEEL THAT I MUST FILE A COMPLAINT AS I PAY A LARGE MONTHLY PAYMENT FOR THIS VEHICLE ,AND I SHOULD BE GETTING MY MONEY WORTH INSTEAD I AM EMOTIONALLY DISTRAUGHT AND LITERALLY AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR. THE ONLY REPAIR WHICH HAS BEEN DONE TO THE CAR TO SUPPOSEDLY CORRECT THE BALANCING ISSUE AND THE TIRE PRESSURE ISSUE HAS BEEN TO REPLACE THE ORIGINAL TIRES. AFTER REPLACEMENT OF TIRES THE PROBLEM CONTINUED TO EXIST, AND I CONTINUE TO FILE COMPLAINTS, HOPEFULLY TO RECTIFY THE SITUATION.*AK
AFTER THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN PARKED OVER NIGHT OR FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME ( A COUPLE OF HOURS) THE BRAKES MAKE A LOUD PITCHED SQUEALING NOISE. THIS HAPPENS FOR THE FIRST 3 TO 4 TIMES YOU HIT THE BRAKES AND THEN STOPS. I HAVE ONLY OWNED THE CAR FOR A MONTH AND BOUGHT THE CAR BRAND NEW. THE NOISE IS GETTING PROGRESSIVELY WORSE AND WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THEY TOLD ME THAT THIS NOISE IS NORMAL. *NM
TL*- THE CONTACT STATED AIR CONDITIONER IN THE 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. ONE COULD NOT SWITCH THE SETTIGNS SO THAT ONE COULD SET THE RECIRCULATE AIR BUTTON. IN ORDER FOR THE RECIRCULATE AIR BUTTON TO WORK THE TEMPERATURE HAD TO BE OVER 40 DEGREES. THE CONTACTWAS CONCERNED BECAUSE HE WAS BREATHING THE CARBON MONOXIDE FROM OTHER VEHICLES. THE CONTACT TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER, AND THEY STATED THAT THERE WASN'T ANY FLAW WITH THE VEHICLE, THAT IT WAS DESIGNED THAT WAY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 968 ,AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1050.*AK

THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THIS WAS NORMAL DUE TO THE CHARACTERISTICS OF AN ALL WHEEL DRIVE. THE DEALER ALSO TOLD THE CONTACT THAT HE SHOULD JUST APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKES. *AK UPDATED 2/27/2007 - THE CONSUMER FEELS THAT THE VEHICLES SHOULD NOT MOVE AT ALL WHILE IN PARK. THE CONSUMER FEELS THAT THE LOCKING PIN IN THE TRANSMISSION MAY NOT BE ENGAGING PROPERLY. *NM
2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX WITH SEVERAL ISSUES. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE STEERING WHEEL STOPPED WORKING, WON'T TURN OR ALLOW HIM TO BACK UP. STABILITRAK LIGHT COMES ON. HE WAS TOLD HE COULDN'T LEAVE HIS CAR BECAUSE DEALER NEEDED TO CHECK THE WARRANTY. *KB THE CONSUMER HAD THE VEHICLE INSPECTED BY ANOTHER DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD HIM THE ALARM SYSTEM THAT WAS ADDED WAS CAUSING THE PROBLEM. *JB
THE SECOND DAY WE OWNED THE CAR, I STARTED IT, PUT IT IN DRIVE AND HAD NO POWER STEERING. THE CAR DEALERSHIP SAID THAT NOTHING SHOWED UP ON THE CAR'S COMPUTER. IT HAS HAPPENED INTERMITTENTLY FOR 6 YEARS. WHEN IT HAPPENS, I SHUT THE CAR OFF AND RE-START IT AND THE POWER STEERING WORKS. *TR
THERE IS AN AWFUL SMELL IN THE BACK OF THE CAR (MOLD) AND WATER IS BUILDING UP ON THE FLOOR OF THE CAR. WHENEVER IT RAINS HEAVY WATER IS SEEPING INTO THE CAR AND ONTO THE BACK FLOOR. THE SMELL IS BECOMING UNBEARABLE TO RIDE IN THE CAR. *TR
2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX FAILED TO SLOW DOWN WHEN FOOT WAS LIFTED FROM THE ACCELERATOR. CONSUMER STATES THAT CRUISE CONTROL WAS GETTING ACTIVATED BY BARELY TOUCHING THE BUTTON. HE WOULD LIKE SOMETHING DONE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. *KB
