THE VEHICLE HAS STABLE TRACK LINK ERROR AND WILL NOT GO AWAY, ALSO THE FUEL GUAGE DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY. THE AIRBAG IS NOT WORKING TO PROTECT MY PASSENGERS IN THE FRONT SEAT.
THE PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG SENSOR FAILED AND TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM THE ENTIRE SEAT CUSHION AND ELECTRONIC MODULE HAS TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS AN OVER $800 REPAIR AND MY DAUGHTER CANT AFFORD TO HAVE IT FIXED. ACCORDING TO THE DEALER TECH THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM ON SEVERAL THOUSAND EQUINOX, TORRENT AND SATURN ION VEHICLES. IMHO THIS IS A SAFETY DEFECT AND SHOULD BE REPAIRED AT NO CHARGE.
IGNITION KEY WILL NOT TURN IN IGNITION CAUSING VEHICLE TO NOT START. VEHICLE STATIONARY. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE WE PURCHASED, BUT IS HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY. STEERING WHEEL NEEDS TO BE TURNED SHARPLY SEVERAL TIMES AND GEAR SHIFT MUST BE JIGGLED WITH AND IT WILL USUALLY START AT THAT TIME. VERY SCARY!!

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN TWO OF THE MANUFACTURER RECALLS; HOWEVER, IT EXPERIENCED FAILURES RELATED TO THE RECALLS. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXCLUDED FROM THE RECALL CAMPAIGNS AND PROVIDED NO SOLUTION OTHER THAN THE CONTACT TAKING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
FUEL LEAKING FROM THE RETURN PORT ON THE FUEL PUMP.
I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE WATER PUMP
I BOUGHT A USED 2007EQUINOX LAST YEAR (MAY 2015) I KEPT SMELLING GAS AND IT WAS GETTING WORSE, DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THE RECALL, TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC WHICH COST ME $965.00 TO REPLACE. IF THIS VEHICLE WENT THROUGH THE RECALL AND A FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED, SHOULD IT HAVE BEEN LEAKING AGAIN AFTER 4 YEARS. IT WOULD HESITATE ON STARTING AND DRIVING AND PARKING THE GAS FUMES WERE SO BAD, I KNEW I HAD A LEAK SOMEWHERE, IT WAS LEAKING IN MOTION AND WHEN STATIONARY, WHEN I WOULD PARK IT AND WALK ABOUT THE PARK, THE GAS FUMES WERE THE WORST THERE, STILL COULD SMELL THE GAS IN MY CAR AND OUTSIDE BY THE DRIVERS SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE DOORS.
WHEN I HAVE A PASSENGER IN THE SEAT THE AIRBAG NEVER COMES ON AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON AND TELLS ME IT NEEDS SERVICE. ALSO ALL MY GAUGES ARE ALL OUT OF WACK NOT SURE IF IT IS A RECALL OR NOT ONCE I HIT 100,000 MILES ALL THESE THINGS CAME ABOUT. ALSO THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE FUEL SYSTEM AND AT THE TIME I DID NOT HAVE A PROBLEM AS OF YET, ON 9/29/15 I THEN SMELLED THE GAS AND CALLED MK SMITH CHEVROLET TO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY RECALLS ON THIS AND THEY TOLD ME NO, SO I DID TAKE IT SOMEWHERE ELSE TO BE FIXED DUE TO IT BEING CHEAPER FOR ME AND GOT IT FIXED AND PAID $633.60. I HAVE DOCUMENT FOR THAT. NOW MY KEY IN THE IGNITION DOES NOT COME OUT AND I HEAR A CLICKING NOISE BY THE IGNITION I'M NOT SURE IF THAT AS WELL IS A RECALL ON THE EQUINOX 2007. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF ANY OF THESE PROBLEMS ARE RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE. I JUST HAVE READ ALL THESE OTHER COMPLAINTS ON THE SAME ISSUES ON THE EQUINOX 2007.
FUEL SENSOR LEVEL IS READING ERRATIC AFTER I PUT GAS IN MY VEHICLE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND THE FUEL GAUGE GOES FROM FULL TO EMPTY BACK TO FULL.

TAKATA RECALL" FOR A 2007 CHEVY EQUINOX IGNIITION SWITCH MY KEY GETS STUCK IN THE IGNITION I HAVE BROKEN MY KEY TRYING TO GET MY KEY OUT THE IGNITION HAD IT REPLACE BY A LOCKSMITH WHO JACKED MY KEY UP THE KEY HAS NO SMOOTH TOUCH IT'S VERY HAD WHEN IT GO INTO THE IGNITION IT'S VERY HARD TO TURN, THIS IS A EMERGENCY SOMEONE PLEASE RECALL THIS PART OF THEES,CARS IT'S VERY DANGEROUS I HAVE KIDS I SEE WHERE OTHER CARS ARE BEING RECALLED , CAN GMC, CHEVY RECALL ALL THE CHEVY FROM 2005-2010 FOR IGNITION SWITCH HELP!!!! THIS PROBLEM HAD BEEN ON FOR 8MONTHS I THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO STOP NEVER HAD THESE KINDA OF PROBLEM WITH ANY CAR IN THE PAST.
NOTICED THE SMELL OF GAS COMING FROM MY CAR. ALSO TROUBLE STARTING. CHECKED GAS CAP AND WAS FINE. DROVE AROUND THE REST OF THE DAY STILL VERY STRONG GAS SMELL AND ISSUES WHEN STARTING THE CAR. GOT HOME AND LOOKED UP INFO AND SEE THAT THERE ARE SEVERAL ISSUES. BUT OF COURSE MY VEHICLE IS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST. THERE WAS AN OBVIOUS PROBLEM BUT ONLY CERTAIN VEHICLES WERE RECALLED NOW MINE IS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. SAFELY RISK AND NOT A CHEAP FIX.

ANYTIME A PASSENGER IS IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT THE AIRBAG DOES NOT TURN ON. THE AIRBAG OFF LIGHT REMAINS ILLUMINATED.
FUEL LEAK FROM THE TANK

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO TWO CERTIFIED MECHANICS WHO STATED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER MOTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE EXACT FAILURE WAS NOT ABLE TO BE PROPERLY IDENTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000. UPDATED 12/01/16*LJ
I GOT THIS CAR FROM FREDERI K AUTO CENTER IN MARCH. EVER SINCE THEN I HAD PROBLEMS. I TOLD THEM I LET THEM. KNKW ABOUT THEM AND THEY ALWAYS SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT. THE ONE TIME THEY WERE SUPOOSE TO FIX SOMETHING THEY HAD THE CAR FOR TWO DAYS AND RHEY PUT TAPE ALL OVER THE HOSES RO STOP THE LEAKS. THEY ALSO FAILED THE MD INSPECTION CONSIDERING MY WIRES ARE MELTED TOGETHER AND MY IGNITION DOESNT WORK RIGHT WHICH WOULDNT HAVE PASS. THEN THEY REPO IT WHEN I WQSNT LATE ON MY PAYEMNT BECAUSE I SAID I WANT IT FIXED SINXE IT WAS SOLS THAT WAY OR I WILL FILE A COMPALINT. EVERYTHING QAS ILLEGAL THATBTHEY DID.
THE PASSENGERS SIDE AIRBAG WILL NOT STAY ON WHEN NO MATTER WHO ON IT, DOESN'T NOT POP ANY CODES OR ANYTHING. HAVE TAKEN IT TWO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS STILL NOTHINGS SAYS IT'S WORKING FINE. WHICH IT ISN'T, NOT SAFE AT ALL

MY VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. MY VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE CARPORT FOR A FEW WEEKS. WHEN I CAN BACK TO THE VEHICLE IT WAS COVERED IN MOLD. IT WAS ALL OVER THE DASHBOARD AND THE SEATS. I LOOKED ONLINE AND A LOT OF CONSUMERS WERE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. THERE IS A WATER LEAK. THE SPARE TIRE WELL HAS A LOT OF WATER IN IT. GM HAS A DOCUMENT ID NUMBER 2198426 DESCRIBING HOW TO FIX THIS WATER LEAK. I FEEL SINCE A LOT OF CONSUMERS ARE GOING THROUGH THIS; THEN IT SHOULD BE RECALLED.
THE IGNITION SWITCH/LOCK CYLINDER IS STICKING AND WON'T TURN SOMETIMES, CAUSING THE CAR TO NOT START.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SHIFTER SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,227.
WHILE DRIVING EITHER ON CITY OR FREEWAY THE CAR STARTED SHAKING, JERKING, AND VIBRATING REALLY BADLY WHEN APPLIED PRESSURE TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT GAIN SPEED, INSTEAD IT WOULD SLOW DOWN AND IT FELT LIKE GAS WAS NOT GOING TROUGH. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. SOMETIMES THE KEY WILL NOT COME OUT OF THE IGNITION AND I HAVE TO TURN THE CAR BACK ON THEN TURN THE WHEEL, BUT SOMETIMES IT TAKES MORE THAN THIS TO GET THE KEY OUT FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH. I HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG OR COULD DUPLICATE PROBLEM. WHEN I PICKED UP THE CAR I HAD DRIVE IT 15 MILES AND THE CAR STARTED DOING THE SAME THING.
A FEW MONTHS AGO, I TOOK MY CAR INTO THE DEALER TO DIAGNOSE A CHECK AIRBAG LIGHT. $122 LATER, MY VEHICLE WAS FOUND TO HAVE A "FAULTY PASSENGER PRESENCE MODULE." I WAS QUOTED OVER $1000 IN REPAIRS AND GIVEN NO OTHER OPTIONS. I DECLINED THE REPAIRS IN LIEU OF CONFIRMING WITH AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AS I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THAT SERVICE DEPARTMENT BEFORE REGARDING A FAULTY FUEL SYSTEM (WHICH WAS RECALLED AND I WAS NOT INFORMED). MY INDEPENDENT MECHANIC CONFIRMED THE PASSENGER SENSING UNIT WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION, I FOUND THAT THIS PART (MUCH LIKE THE DEBACLE WITH MY FUEL PUMP) WAS ALSO A RECALLED. I AM REFERRING TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN#07V344000. MY VIN# IS INCLUDED WITHIN THE DESIGNATED VIN BREAKING POINTS; HOWEVER, IT DOES NOT QUALIFY INDIVIDUALLY. I FIND THIS INFURIATING. IF THE PART IS KNOWN TO BE FAULTY, AND IT'S THE SAME PART PLACED INTO PONTIAC/CHEVY VEHICLES THEN WHY ARE ONLY SOME OF THESE FAULTY PARTS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL???? THIS WAS THE SAME SITUATION WITH MY FAULTY FUEL PUMP, IN WHICH I PAID CASH FOR THE PART AND REPAIRS AND THEN 6 MONTHS LATER RECEIVED A LETTER FROM GM STATING MY VIN# WAS NOW INCLUDED. I PHONED THE DEALER AND GM DIRECTLY AND THEY OFFERED ME NO OPTIONS OTHER THAN PAY $611 FOR THE PART AND ESTIMATED ANOTHER $500 IN LABOR. I HAVE FOUND ON NUMEROUS GM FORUMS THAT THIS ISSUE WITH THE PPM IS VERY COMMON WITH 2007-2009 PONTIAC AND CHEVY VEHICLES WITH THOSE OWNERS GETTING THE SAME EXCUSE FROM GM AND NO RECALL COVERAGE. I AM HOPING THAT IN THE FUTURE SOMEONE FROM THE NHTSA WILL LOOK INTO THIS CAMPAIGN AND EXPAND THE VEHICLES INVOLVED AS IT SEEMS TO BE A DEALER/PART ISSUE AND AFFECTS THE OVERALL SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE.
OUR 2007 CHEVY EQUINOX HAD CONDENSATION IN THE HEADLIGHTS, WHICH THEY WERE REPLACED WHEN WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE FROM THE DEALERSHIP MAY 20, 2014. IN OCTOBER 2015, CONDENSATION BEGAN BUILDING UP AGAIN IN THE DRIVER'S SIDE LENS. WE REPLACED A BULB IN NOVEMBER AND IN FEBRUARY, ENDED UP REPLACING THE ENTIRE COMPONENT DUE TO CONDENSATION GATHERING IN THE HEADLIGHT, TO THE COST OF OVER $400! THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A DESIGN FLAW FOR THIS VEHICLE.
IN THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY 2016 VEHICLE STARTED TO TELL ME THAT IT WAS OVERHEATING. THE HEAT WAS BLOWING COLD AIR. WITHOUT GOING ANY PLACE BUT SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY IT STARTED TO TELL ME THAT THE ENGINE WAS OVERHEATING AND TO TURN A/C OFF. I COULD STILL HEAR THE FAN RUNNING WHILE DRIVING AND ONCE I PARKED IT WOULD RUN FOR A WHILE. WHY IS THIS NOT A RECALL WITH ALL THE COMPLAINTS THAT I SEE ON THIS SUBJECT ANY HELP WOULD BE NICE

WARNING NOTICE TO SERVICE AIRBAG IS ON AND WILL NOT GO OFF. THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED FOR THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR IN TO HAVE THIS ISSUED CHECKED; HOWEVER, THE TECHNICIANS STATED THERE WAS NO ISSUES AND COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM TO FIX. I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT AIR BAGS WILL MALFUNCTION WHILE TRANSPORTING MYSELF AND/OR FAMILY AS THIS IS A ONGOING ISSUE 2007 EQUINOX. GM IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND REFUSES TO RECALL.

WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC THAT THE STABILIZER TRACK FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS INOPERABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.
I HAVE NO HEAT. THE FAN BLOWS BUT ONLY COLD AIR. THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT IN EQUINOX AND TORRENT MODELS WITH REPAIR COSTS OF OVER $1,000.00. WHY ISN'T GM TAKING RESPONSIBIITY FOR THEIR FAILURES?
CAR SPUTTERS AND STALLS SOMETIMES WHILE DRIVING AND SOMETIMES WHEN EXCELERATING.CAN BE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET OR GETTING ONTO THE FREEWAY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE JERKED AND LOST POWER. THE STABILITY CONTROL AND THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE FOUND. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A TRANSMISSION SPECIALIST WHO STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
THE CAT WAS PAKED IN THE DRIVEWAY I REMOTE STARTED IT AND WHEN I FINALLY GOT TO MY VEHICLE TO LEAVE THE STEERING WHEEL WAS HARD TO MANEUVER. NOW I RECENTLY PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE A MONTH AGO FROM A DEALERSHIP AND WAS GIVEN THE RESPONSIBILITY TO PAY FOR THIS BUT TO NO AVAIL I COMPLAINED BECAUSE I AM A NEW OWNER AND THAT SHOULD NOT BE A REPAIR I'M RESPONSIBLE FOR. BUT THAT DIDN'T STOP THEM FOR MAKING ME PAY A DEDUCTIBLE AS IF IT WAS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. THIS DIDN'T SIT RIGHT ON MY HEART SO I FIGURED TO DO SOME INTERNET SEEKING AND FOUND THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS POWER STEERING MODULE I'M SURE THE DEALERSHIP KNEW THIS BEFORE SELLING IT TO ME. VERY DISPLEASED!

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V459000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
ON NOVEMBER 17TH THE VEHICLE STARTED TO TELL ME THAT IT WAS OVERHEATING AND TO TURN A/C OFF. A/C WAS NOT EVEN ON BECAUSE IT WAS COLD AND THE HEAT WAS BLOWING COLD AIR. THE VEHICLE THEN TOLD ME WHILE I WAS TRYING TO GET TO A SAFE LOCATION TO PULL OVER THAT THE ENGINE POWER WAS REDUCED AND THE VEHICLE STATED TO CRAWL ALONG THE ROAD. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS LOOKED AT WHERE I PULLED OVER THERE WAS MINIMAL OIL IN THE VEHICLE AND IT HAD BLOW COOLANT ALL OVER THE DRIVER SIDE WHEEL WELL FROM WHAT LOOKED LIKE THE OVERFLOW TUBE. OIL WAS PUT IN THE VEHICLE SO THAT I COULD DRIVE IT TO A SAFE LOCATION. ON NOVEMBER 18TH I WENT TO START THE VEHICLE TO GO TO WORK AND WITHOUT GOING ANY PLACE BUT SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY IT STARTED TO TELL ME THAT THE ENGINE WAS OVERHEATING AND TO TURN A/C OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. THE DEALERSHIP THAT I USE WORKED ON IT AND REPLACED THE TEMP CONTROL AND THERMOSTAT AND DID A COMPLETE OIL CHANGE. IN THE FEW DAYS AFTER THIS WORK WAS DONE I COULD STILL HEAR THE FAN RUNNING WHILE DRIVING AND ONCE I PARKED IT WOULD RUN FOR A WHILE. ON NOVEMBER 25TH I WAS DRIVING AND THE VEHICLE STATED TO SAY ENGINE OVERHEATING AND TO TURN A/C OFF ONCE AGAIN I HAD TO TRAVEL A SHORT DISTANCE TO GET A SEMI SAFE LOCATION TO PULL OVER SINCE THE ENGINE POWER WAS REDUCED AGAIN AND THE VEHICLE CRAWLED ALONG. THE HEATER WAS BLOWING COLD AIR I COULD HEAR THE FANS RUNNING INSIDE THE VEHICLE AS WELL. THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME I HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED IN A WEEK. IT IS NOW NOVEMBER 30TH AND I STILL DO NOT HAVE MY VEHICLE BACK BECAUSE THEY ARE STILL "WORKING" ON IT. I SEE A LOT OF 2006 EQUINOX'S WITH THE SAME ISSUE NOT SURE WHY THIS IS NOT A RECALL BECAUSE IT IS VERY INCONVENIENT TO NOT HAVE A CAR AND TO MISS WORK. I AM SENDING PICTURES FROM THE SECOND TIME IT WAS TOWED.

THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE MORE THAN ONCE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE OR DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED NO PERMANENT REMEDY FOR THE CONDITION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
MY SON WAS DRIVING HIS 2007 CHEVY EQUINOX AROUND 50 MPH AND NOTICED A SMELL COMING FROM THE BRAKES. HE GOT HOME AND TOLD ME THEY WERE DRAGGING. I CHECKED THEM AFTER THEY COOLED DOWN. MY INITIAL THOUGHT WAS WORN PADS. I PULLED THE WHEELS AND CALIPERS AND PADS WERE GOOD. HOWEVER I COULD NOT COMPRESS THE DUAL PISTONS BACK INTO THE HOUSING ON EITHER SIDE UNTIL I LOOSENED THE BLEEDER SCREW. BEING CAREFUL TO NOT GET AIR IN THE SYSTEM, I WAS ABLE TO GET THE PISTONS BACK INTO THE HOUSING TO MAKE SURE THEY WERE NOT STUCK. I REASSEMBLED THE BRAKE SYSTEM AND TIRES. I TRIED TO PUT THE BRAKES TO FORCE THE FRONT PISTONS BACK OUT, BUT I HAD NO PRESSURE. I STARTED THE VEHICLE TO SEE IF THE BRAKES WERE WORKING, NO THEY AREN'T. NOW I HAVE NO BREAKES, FRONT OR REAR! FLUID WILL NOT FLOW BACK TO MASTER CYLINDER NOR WILL FLUID FLOW TO CALIPERS. MY QUESTION IS, MASTER CYLINDER OR ABS MODULE.
OVER THE PAST FEW DAYS, MY STABILITRAK LIGHT HAS COME ON AND OFF WHILE DRIVING OR JUST SITTING IN THE CAR. PULLING INTO MY DRIVEWAY TODAY I NOTICED THAT THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON FOR THE STABILITRAK. I PROCEEDED TO DRIVE AND THEN SUDDENLY IT BECAME INCREASING HARD TO MANEUVER MY STEERING WHEEL ALMOST TO THE POINT WHERE IT FELT AS IF IT HAD LOCKED UP ON ME. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR BACK HOME BUT AS I WAS DRIVING I NOTICE MY AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AND WILL NOT GO OFF AT ALL. AFTER MAKING IT BACK TO INTO MY DRIVEWAY I CUT OFF THE IGNITION WAITED A FEW MINUTES AND TURNED THE CAR BACK ON TO SEE IF THIS WOULD HELP EITHER OF THE PROBLEMS BUT TO NO AVAIL. I HAVE NOW TAKEN THE CAR TO MY LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALER AND THEY HAVE INFORMED ME THAT THEY HAVE SEN THIS ISSUE WITH A NUMBER OF EQUINOX AND IT IS INDEED AN ISSUE MY STABILITRAK.
WITHIN THE LAST MONTH MY CAR HAS STARTED EMITTING A VERY STRONG GAS ODOR AND HAS BEEN HAVING STARTING TROUBLE EVERY TIME I TRY AND START THE CAR. IN THE PAST I HAVE HAD IT HESITATE TO START, BUT THAT OCCURRED LESS FREQUENTLY AND NEVER NOTICED THE SMELL. EVER SINCE I NOTICED THE ODOR, AGAIN ABOUT A MONTH AGO, IT IS HAPPENING EVERY TIME I TRY AND START THE CAR. THE ENGINE TURNS...BUT IT TAKES A MINUTE BEFORE IT CATCHES AND STARTS. SOMETIMES IT WILL NOT CATCH AND START AND I HAVE TO TURN THE KEY A 2ND TIME FOR IT TO ACTUALLY START.
2997 CHEVY EQUINOX - THE CAR WAS IN MOTION AROUND 60MPH, WHILE DRIVING THE BRAKES ACTIVATE BY THEMSELVES AND THE ABS, STABILITY TRACK LIGHTS COME ON. THE VEHICLE STALLED IN THE INTERSTATE SEVERAL TIMES. THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE WHEN I ACCELERATE. IT SEEMS AT IF ALL THE BRAKES ARE ACTIVE AND NOT ALLOWING THE CAR TO MOVE. AFTER ALMOST GETTING CLIPPED BY A SEMI I HAD TO THINK FAST. I READ THE MANUAL AND FOUND THE ABS FUSES. IN ORDER TO MOVE THE CAR I HAVE TO REMOVE THE ABS MOTOR FUSE AND THE ABS SYSTEM FUSE. THIS BYPASSES THE SYSTEM AND THE CAR IS ABLE TO MOVE. I HAVE TAKEN TO A MECHANIC AND THEY REPLACED DEALER PARTS ABS MODULE AND ABS MODULATOR "MOTOR". I PAID $1800 FOR THE REPAIR. CAR HAS SAME ISSUE AS I DROVE A WAY FROM SHOP. WHEN IT STALLED AFTER REPAIR I REMOVED THE FUSES AGAIN AND DROVE IT BACK TO THE SHOP FOR REPAIR AGAIN. SHOP SAYS THESE PARTS REPLACED ARE DEALER PARTS AND THEY WILL REPLACE AGAIN WITH NEW PARTS. CALLED THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP ON THIS AND THEY MENTION THAT THERE IS NO ISSUE/RECALL WITH THIS AT THE TIME. THE CAR HAS $80K MILES AND HAS BEEN AT THE SHOP FOR TWO WEEKS STILL UNDER DIAGNOSTICS TO TRY TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE. FRUSTRATED!
THE SPEEDOMETER ON MY 2007 CHEVY EQUINOX STARTED GOING CRAZY. I'M DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 30 MPH BUT THE SPEEDOMETER SAYS I'M DOING 60 MPH. WHEN I'M ON THE HIGHWAY DOING 55 MPH, IT BOUNCES BETWEEN 90 TO 120 MPH. I'VE EVEN BEEN PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY DOING 120 MPH. SOMETHING IS SERIOUSLY WRONG. I'VE FOUND OUT ABOUT NUMEROUS OTHER COMPLAINTS WITH OTHER CHEVY'S DOING THE SAME THING BUT CHEVY DOESN'T WANT TO INCLUDE THE EQUINOX. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT MY NEXT STEP IS GOING TO BE.
AIR BAGS SOMETIMES DOES NOT REGISTER WHEN INDIVIDUALS SITTING IN PASSENGER OR DRIVERS SEAT. AIR BAG SERVICE LIGHT GOES ON AND OFF RANDOMLY AS WELL.
