I HAD TO JUMP START MY VEHICLE AND MY POWER STEERING WAS NOT WORKING. *TR
THE STEERING COLUMN QUIT WORKING ON OUR 2007 EQUINOX (CONFIRMED BY CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP). CAR HAD TO BE TOWED BECAUSE OF DANGER WHEN DRIVING. CAR HAS FEWER THAN 50,000 MILES. DEALERSHIP SAID THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM. THE COLUMN WOULD QUIT WORKING AND SIGNAL COULD NOT GET TO STEERING MOTOR. APPROXIMATE COST - 728.00 NOT INCLUDING TOW CHARGE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE STEERING GOT REALLY HARD I'VE BEEN DOING RESEARCH AND IT APPEARS THERE HAS BEEN MORE CARS LIKE MINE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM DEFINITELY THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL OF SOMEWHAT PLUS THE DEALERSHIP IS CHARGING ME $750 FOR REPAIRS. *TR
THE IGNITION KEY WOULD GET STUCK IN THE IGNITION. THE ONLY WAY I COULD GET IT OUT WOULD BE TO REPEATADLY SHIFT FROM PARK TO DRIVE OR REVERSE UNTIL THE KEY WAS RELEASED. I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL CHEVY DEALER FOR REPAIR. IT COST $544 TO GET IT FIXED. I HAVE HEARD OF OTHERS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. *TR
ENGINE POWER REDUCED LIGHT CAME ON WHILE WE WERE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 55 MPH. MY VEHICLE DROPPED IN SPEED TO 25 MPH AND WOULD NOT PICK UP SPEED. MY FAMILY AND I ALMOST WERE HIT FROM BEHIND BY AN 18 WHEELER. I LOOKED THIS UP ON THE CHEVY FORUM AND FOUND THAT THERE ARE MANY OTHER CHEVY OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. PLEASE LOOK INTO TO IT AND ISSUE A RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. *TR
THE IGNITION WILL NOT RELEASE THE KEY. I HAVE TRIED THE SHIFTER, SIT AND WAIT IN MY CAR TO SEE IF IT WILL RELEASE WITH TIME, STEP ON THE BRAKE FOR A LONG TIME THEN TRY TO TAKE THE KEY OFF AND HOPE IT WILL RELEASE THE KEY. *TR I CAN'T KEEP SITTING IN MY CAR WAITING FOR A MIRACLE TO HAPPEN WHEN I NEED TO LOG IN TO WORK AND AM STUCK IN THE CAR BECAUSE THE KEY WON'T COME OUT OF THE IGNITION. THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED. WITH AZ WEATHER BEING SO HOT SITTING IN THE CAR WAITING FOR THE RELEASE OF THE KEY IS MAKING IT HOT TO BREATHE. DON'T WANT TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOWS BECAUSE I NEED THE KEY IN TO GET THE WINDOWS BACK UP. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. VEHICLE PURCHASED 2014 WITH 113,000 MILES. SINCE, KEY IS DIFFICULT TO REMOVE FROM IGNITION (DOESN'T RECOGNIZE THE VEHICLE IS IN PARK). RPM GAGE RARELY WORKS WHEN IN MOTION. PASSENGER AIR BAG TURNS OFF AND ON WHEN A PERSON SITS IN IT OF ANY WEIGHT/AGE.
I AM SMELLING A STRONG GAS SMELL WHILE MY VEHICLE IS PARKED. I HAVE READ THAT OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAVE READ THAT IT IS A PROBLEM WITH A CRACKED FUEL MODULE. IS THERE A RECALL ON THIS? I AM ON A VERY TIGHT BUDGET AND CANNOT AFFORD A HUGE REPAIR BILL. I AM GOING TO TAKE IT TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP FOR A DIAGNOSIS AND ESTIMATE FOR REPAIR. I WAS LEAVING MY DRIVEWAY AND MY ELECTRIC POWER STEERING QUIT WORKING. I ENDED UP IN THE OTHER LANE BECAUSE MY CAR WOULDN'T TURN. LUCKILY THERE WAS NO ONE ELSE USING THAT LANE AT THE TIME. NOW I SEE A RECALL IN THE NEWS IN WHICH GM SAYS THEY WANT TO GET ALL VEHICLES THAT COULD BE EFFECTED, BUT THEY DON'T INCLUDE THE EQUINOX.? *TR
I HAVE MULTIPLE ISSUES CURRENTLY AND THEY ALL SEEM TO BE LISTED ON OTHER COMPLAINTS. 1. THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW HAS COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING. IT SEEMS TO HAVE BECOME DISCONNECTED TO THE MOTOR AS I CAN HEAR THE MOTOR GOING UP AND DOWN WITHIN THE DOOR. 2. STABILITRAK WARNING AND ENGINE LIGHT ARE CONSTANTLY TURNING ON AND OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON AND OFF OVER THE PAST YEAR OR SO BUT THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT GET A READING FROM THE COMPUTER. NOW IT HAS BEEN ON FOR THE PAST 2 WEEKS CONSTANTLY 3. THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL DOES NOT WORK. TOOK IT INTO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE THERMOSTAT A FEW DAYS LATER THE GAUGE WENT HAYWIRE AGAIN. IT GETS WORSE WHEN I FILL UP WITH GAS AND TENDS TO MIRROR THE GAS GAUGE READING MOST OF THE TIME. 4. THE KEY WILL NOT COME OUT OF THE IGNITION WHEN TURNING OFF THE CAR. THIS IS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK, TURN THE KEY OFF, THE ENGINE TURNS OFF BUT THE KEY WILL NOT COME OUT OF THE IGNITION. HAVE TO TURN CAR BACK ON, PUT IT IN AND OUT OF PARK, TURN THE WHEEL, BACK UP, DRIVE FORWARD OR JUST SIT AND WAIT A FEW MINUTES AND IT COMES OUT. 5. OCCASIONALLY THE ELECTRONICS GO CRAZY - THE TURN SIGNALS WON'T WORK AND THE RADIO SHUTS DOWN. IT MAKES A SOUND WHEN IT DOES THIS AS WELL, LIKE A CLICKING NOISE BUT IT ONLY LASTS FOR A FEW SECONDS AND I CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT CAUSES IT. *TR
THE VEHICLE JUST STARTED TO SLOW DOWN, IT WAS DIFFICULT TO STEER TO GET OFF THE ROAD. IT FELT LIKE THE CAR WAS LOCKING UP. THERE WAS A STRONG BURNING SMELL. I WAS CONCERNED THAT THERE WOULD BE A FIRE. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO BACKWARD OR FORWARD. A TOW TRUCK HAD TO BE CALLED. THE DIAGNOSIS WAS THE POWER BRAKE BOOSTER, WHICH THEY REPLACED. TWO WEEKS LATER THE CAR LOCKED UP AGAIN. NOW THEY ARE SAYING THE ENTIRE BRAKING AND STABILIZER SYSTEM HAS TO BE REPLACED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED WITH A REDUCTION IN ENGINE POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT DIAGNOSIS WHERE THEY STATED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.
THE TRACTION ENGINE AND STABILITY ERROR MESSAGE STAY ILLUMINATED ON MY CAR.THE OTHER DAY I WAS AT AN INTERSECTION WHERE THE CROSS TRAFFIC DOESN'T STOP . WHEN I DECIDED TO GO THE CAR WOULD HARDLY MOVE ALMOST LEAVING ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WHERE I COULD HAVE BEEN HIT. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES, IT FEELS AS IF IT'S A FIVE SPED AND YOUR TRYING TO TAKE OFF IN 3RD GEAR...VERY DANGEROUS! I TOOK IT TO A CHEVY DEALER BUT THEY COULDN'T CLEAR THE CODES . SOMETIMES THE CAR HAS POWER AND SOMETIMES IT DON'T. THIS IS MY [XXX] YEAR OLD DAUGHTERS CAR AND SHE DRIVES MY OTHER 4 GIRLS TO SCHOOL . I GIVE HER MY CAR BECAUSE I KNOW THIS ISN'T SAFE. I SEE THERE ARE HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WHO ARE HAVING THESE ISSUES. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BEFORE SOMEBODY DIES! AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC STATED THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT WINDOW STOPPED WORKING THEN MONTHS LATER THE SWITCH THAT TELLS THE BCM THE DOOR IS OPEN OR CLOSED FAILED AND THE RADIO DOESN'T. SHUT OFF AND THE DOME LIGHTS DON'T COME ON WHEN EXITING THE VEHICLE. *TR
LETTER FROM SENATOR REED ON BEHALF OF CONSTITUENT RE 2007 EQUINOX RECALLS AND OUTSTANDING REIMBURSEMENT ISSUES. *SMD THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED RECALL 12V459000, DID NOT APPLY TO HIS VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER, AND HE WOULD NOT BE REIMBURSED FOR RECALL# 07V344000, EVEN THOUGH HE SUPPLIED DOCUMENTATION, HE PAID FOR THE REPAIRS. *JB

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,500.
I LOST POWER STEERING IN MY CAR. I HAD NO WARNING TO INDICATE THERE WAS A PROBLEM. I WAS DRIVING AND IT WENT OUT. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND I COULD HAVE CRASHED. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON THIS, MY POWER STEERING MODULE FAILED. I HAD TO REPLACE IT WHICH WAS VERY COSTLY. I HAVE READ THAT THERE HAS BEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THIS YEAR AND MODEL WITH THE SAME ISSUE. *TR
I TOOK MY CAR INTO A POWER CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP BACK IN SEPTEMBER, THEY SAID THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL FOR THE COILS/SPARK PLUGS. THEY FIXED THE ISSUE, AS MY CAR HAD BEEN STALLING AS I ACCELERATED. NOW, RECENTLY MY ELECTRIC STABILITY TRACTION LIGHT CAME ON, ALONG WITH MY ENGINE AND "SERVICE BRAKES" LIGHT. I HAD MY BRAKES DONE BACK IN OCTOBER AT THE SAME TIME AS THEY REPLACED THE COIL. MY CAR IS STARTING TO STALL AND DO THE SAME AS IT WAS BACK IN OCTOBER. I AM NOT SURE WHY CHEVY IS NOT RECALLING OR SENDING OUT NOTICES ABOUT THESE ISSUES. IT'S HAZARDOUS. I CONTACTED A LAWYER. *TR
THERE IS A COMMON PROBLEM WRONG WITH THE CHEVY EQUINOX, I HAVE A BLOWN HEAD GASKET BECAUSE OF WATER IN MY DASHBOARD. I WAS TOLD TO FILE A COMPLAINT, BECAUSE SO MANY INDIVIDUALS WHO BY THESE PARTICULAR VEHICLES ALL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM ESPECIALLY IF YOU PURCHASED A EQUINOX BETWEEN 2006 AND 2009. THIS IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT AND THE VEHICLES SHOULD BE RECALLED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT WAS SITTING AT A TRAFFIC STOP WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO HIS REAR. THE IMPACT ABRUPTLY PUSHED THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE FORWARD, CAUSING HIM TO CRASH INTO THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED MINOR NECK AND BACK INJURIES, THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE PASSENGER SUSTAINED FACIAL LACERATIONS FROM THE SHATTERED REAR WINDOW AND THE DRIVER OF THE SECOND VEHICLE SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES TO THE NECK. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 117,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE FRONT DEFROSTER AND HEATER FAILED TO OPERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO UNCLOGGED THE RADIATOR BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.
WHILE DRIVING HOME MY CAR SUDDENLY BECAME VERY VERY HARD TO STEER I COULD NOT MAKE RIGHT OR LEFT TURNS WITHOUT EXTREME DIFFICULTY TURNING THE WHEEL. IN FACT IT FELT LIKE THE POWER STEERING HAD COMPLETELY WENT OUT IN THE 2007 EQUINOX. WHEN I WENT TO THE CHEVROLET GARAGE THEY WERE NO HELP BUT TO TELL ME THEY WOULD NOT DO A THING UNTIL I PAID $89 THEY WOULD NOT EVEN SAY IF THIS WAS AN ISSUE EXPERIENCED BY ANYONE ELSE IN THE PAST OR ABOUT HOW MUCH IT COULD EVEN COST IF THEY FOUND SOMETHING. WHEN I LEFT THE CAR STARTED TO ACT CORRECTLY BUT THE STABILITRAK SERVICE LIGHT CAME OFF AND ON AGAIN WE ASKED ABOUT THIS AT THE GARAGE THEY WOULD NOT COMMENT ON THAT UNTIL WE PAID $89.00. AS I DID NOT FEEL SAFE AT ALL DRIVING THE CAR I REMEMBERED ANOTHER PLACE HERE IN TOWN THAT HANDLED CARS AND THE REBUILDING OF MOST ANY MAIN FEATURED ITEMS FROM MOTORS TO TRANSMISSIONS AND WENT THERE THE AUTO MECHANIC TOOK THE CAR FOR A DRIVE OF COURSE THE STABILITRAK SERVICE LIGHT DID NOT COME ON BUT THE STEERING ONCE AGAIN ACTED UP. HE IMMEDIATE INFORMED ME THAT IT WAS THE POWER STEERING MOTOR AND WE ORDERED IT AND HAD IT INSTALLED LAST WEEK JUNE 20TH. THE GARAGE HAD A LOT OF TROUBLE GETTING THE PART BECAUSE THEY HAD TO DEAL WITH A DEALER HERE IN TOWN AND THEY GAVE THEM A VERY HARD TIME. DURING THIS WAIT TO GET THE PART AND HAVE IT INSTALLED THE STEERING ONLY ACTED UP DURING THE COLD MONTHS BUT ONCE THE WEATHER WARMED UP I DID NOT HAVE A PROBLEM AND THE LIGHT ISSUE STOPPED. WITH THE NEW MOTOR THE CAR DROVE WELL THIS WEEKEND BUT NOW THE LIGHT HAS AGAIN COME ON FOR THE STABILITRAK SERVICE. THIS IS SO VERY ANNOYING AS I HAVE NO FAITH IN THE DEALERSHIPS HERE AS ALL THEY CAN SAY WE NEED $89 TO EVEN STEP OVER TO LOOK AT IT. BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY I WILL NEVER BUY A CHEVY AGAIN.
UPON SMOKE TEST OF FUEL SYSTEM IT WAS FOUND THAT FUEL IS LEAKING FROM FUEL LINE WHERE THE FUEL LINE MEETS THE FUEL PUMP ON TOP OF THE FUEL TANK. I WAS ADVISED THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ITEM AND TO SEE IF THIS IS AN ITEM UNDER WARRANTY THROUGH THE DEALERSHIP. I DID RECEIVE A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN FOR THIS ISSUE. *TR
AFTER PARKING MY CAR, I STEPPED OUTSIDE AND NOTICED THAT MY CAR SMELLED LIKE GASOLINE. WHEN I TOOK MY CAR TO THE MECHANIC, THEY TOLD ME THAT THE FUEL PUMP HAD A CRACK AND WAS LEAKING FUEL WHICH WAS CAUSING THE SMELL AND A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. THE MECHANIC SAID THAT HE HAD SEEN THIS BEFORE WITH OTHER CHEVROLET EQUINOX VEHICLES LIKE MINE. I ASKED THE MECHANIC TO FIX THE VEHICLE AND I WOULD INVESTIGATE IF THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS PARTICULAR MAKE/MODEL. IT SEEMS IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND THE VEHICLE WAS PART OF A REGIONAL RECALL BY GENERAL MOTORS. *TR
ONCE AGAIN, DRIVING ON A BUSY HIGHWAY MY STABILITRAC LIGHT CAME ON AND MY ENGINE WAS POWERED DOWN. MY VEHICLE IS ONCE AGAIN IN THE SHOP HAVING THE THROTTLE BOTTLE REPLACED. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED, THE MECHANICS JUST CLEANED THE PART, THIS TIME IT IS BEING REPLACED. WHEN YOUR VEHICLE POWERS DOWN, YOU LOSE THE ABILITY TO SAFELY MANEUVER YOUR CAR- POTENTIALLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, FUEL FUMES WERE EMITTED INTO THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, HE NOTICED THAT FUEL WAS LEAKING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL CONNECTION TO THE FUEL PUMP WAS BROKEN. AS A RESULT, THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 81,000.
I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ON A BUSY INTERSTATE GOING NEARLY 60 MPH WHEN MY TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON, I LOST ENGINE POWER, MY CAR JERKED BECAUSE OF THIS AND I WAS NEARLY HIT FROM BEHIND. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY PROBLEM AND SHOULD BE FIXED. AFTER READING OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE, WHEN IS GM GOING TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS OBVIOUS PROBLEM FOR THE CONSUMER? *TR
HEATER IS BLOWING COLD AIR ONLY. UNABLE TO DEFROST FRONT WINDSHIELD. THIS IS VERY HAZARDOUS, AS MY WINTER DRIVING VISIBILITY IS LIMITED. SUSPECT AIR BLENDER DOOR FAILURE. THIS PROBLEM WAS ADDRESSED BY TSB 11135 (MAY 30, 2012); HOWEVER IT ONLY APPLIES TO 2006 CHEVY EQUINOX. MY CAR IS A 2007 CHEVY EQUINOX. I SPOKE WITH GM AND THEY CONFIRMED THE TSB WAS ONLY FOR THE 2006 MODEL YEAR. MY RESEARCH LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THAT THE 2007 MODEL YEAR SHOULD ALSO BE INCLUDED. MY HEATER PARTS MIGHT BE FROM LATE MODEL 2006. *TR
NOTICED A STRONG SMELL OF GAS COMING FROM THE VEHICLE WHEN PARKED. HAD TO MOVE IT OUT OF GARAGE AS SMELL WAS EXTREMELY STRONG AND SPREAD THROUGHOUT MY TWO STORY HOME. I TOOK CAR IN TO INDEPENDENT GARAGE REPAIR FOR SERVICE ONE MILE FROM MY HOME IMMEDIATELY ON 09/27/2013 AT 06:00 P.M. CLOSEST DEALERSHIP IS NINE MILES FROM MY HOME. FOUND THAT THE PLASTIC PART OF THE FUEL PUMP MODULE WAS CRACKED AND COST $545.23 FOR A NEW FUEL PUMP MODULE AND $350.00 LABOR. TOTAL COST INCLUDING SUPPLY FEES AND TAX, $942.06. FOUND OUT THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS VERY SAME ISSUE. I WILL BE CALLING GM FOR REIMBURSEMENT AND CAN ALREADY ENVISION THEIR REFUSAL AS THEY CLAIM THEY MUST INSPECT VEHICLE AND DO THE REPAIR. WHENEVER THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT IS OCCUPIED, THE DRIVER SHOULD ALWAYS CHECK THE AIRBAG INDICATOR TO SEE IF THE AIRBAG IS ON OR OFF. IF IT IS NOT CORRECT FOR THE SITUATION, THE PASSENGER SHOULD BE MOVED TO A DIFFERENT SEAT. THIS CAN INCREASE THE RISK OF INJURY TO A SEAT OCCUPANT DURING CERTAIN CRASH CONDITIONS. WHILE DRIVING THE CHEVY 2007 EQUINOX, THE BRAKE PEDAL FELT SPONGY, SO I TOOK IT IN TO CHEVY THOROBRED FOR A SAFETY CHECK. I WAS TOLD BY SERVICE THAT IT WAS MY MASTER CYLINDER GOING OUT AND THAT IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I ASKED IF THIS ITEM WAS COVERED UNDER POWER TRAIN WARRANTY; IT WAS NOT.COULD THIS BE DUE TO POOR MATERIALS/ OR SOMETHING HE COULD NOT SAY. ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO I STARTED SMELLING GAS AROUND AND IN MY VEHICLE. AFTER RESEARCHING THE DATA BASE I SEE THAT IS NOT UNCOMMON AND I AM VERY CONCERNED AS TO WHY THIS IS NOT BEING RECALLED. WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 95 GOING 70 MPH , THE STEERING LOCKED UP AND I LOST POWER WHEN ALL THE DASH LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING. THIS WAS THE DAY AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM AUTO SHOWCASE OF BELAIR MD. THE POWER STEERING GOING OUT HAPPENED ATLEAST 7 TIMES IN THE FIRST TWO WEEKS ALONE. I REQUESTED FOR THEM TO TAKE THE CAR BACK, THEY REFUSED.. 4 WEEKS INTO OWNING THIS CAR THE POWER STEERING ISSUE WAS FINALLY RESOLVED.DURING THAT TIME PERIOD I FOUND OUT THAT THE CAR SOLD TO ME WAS STOLEN, THE DEALER DID NOT TELL ME THAT AND SHOWED ME PAPER WORK THAT WAS NOT A CAR FAX REPORT. THREE MONTHS LATER IN OCTOBER OF 2013 MY CAR STARTED OVER HEATING AND CUTTING POWER OFF TO THE ENGINE WHILE DRIVING THE SPEED LIMIT ON 95. IT HAPPENED 5 TIMES. A MECHANIC LOOKED IT OVER AND SAID THE HEAD GASKETS WERE BLOWN. AFTER A MONTH IT WAS FIXED. ONE MONTH LATER IN DECEMBER, MY CAR WOULD SHUT OFF ON ME WHILE DRIVING. I AM NOT JOKING WHEN I SAY THAT HAPPENED OVER 100 TIMES. I HAVE OVER 20 VIDEOS OF THIS HAPPENING UP UNTIL JUST RECENTLY IN FEBRUARY OF 2015. SO THE ISSUE NOW,OTHER THAN MY CAR JUST RANDOMLY SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING, IS MY HEAD GASKETS BLEW AGAIN. I HAVE BEEN LOOKING ON LINE AND HAVE FOUND THIS TO BE A SERIOUS PROBLEM FOR THOUSANDS OF OTHER CHEVY EQUINOX OWNERS! WHY HAS THIS PARTICULAR MODEL NOT HAVE RECALLED!? THIS MODEL IS DANGEROUS TO ANYONE THAT DRIVES IT OR JUST HAPPENS TO BE ON THE ROAD NEAR THEM. I OWN A 2007 CHEVY EQUINOX I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN MY SUV STEERING WHEEL GOT VERY HARD ON ME, COULDN'T EVEN MOVE IT AT ALL, I GOT VERY SCARED GOT OF THE FREEWAY. I PURCHASED THIS UNIT IN 2010. THIS IS RELATED TO THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. THE SIGNAL OF THE AIRBAG APPEARS OFF EVEN IF THERE IS A PASSENGER SEATED. THIS STARTED TO HAPPEN IN 2013.
