Head gasket failure as well as intake manifold
Problem with transmission not shifting properly. Also, the subframe is rusting out because water from the air conditioning unit falls directly on the subframe at that point both are safety hazards My service provider told me about the subframe rusting when I had my oil changed and why it was rusting and I have my transmission checked by a transmission specialist and the oil changed at that point in time

The contact noticed that fuel was leaking from the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 182,000.
Door locks they do not like to unlock lock, they will go halfway and get stuck and then I can’t get into my car
The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated while starting the vehicle and allowing the vehicle to idle for a minute or two, the contact started smelling an abnormally strong gasoline odor inside the cabin of the vehicle. The contact stated an orange-colored engine symbol was illuminated. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic to be diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the gasoline odor inside the cabin of the vehicle was constant. The contact became aware that there was a small puddle of fuel on the passenger side rear tire underneath the vehicle. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 115,000.
The contact's mother owns a 2008 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that upon turning off the vehicle, there was an abnormal fuel odor coming from the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact inspected the vehicle and discovered a major fuel leak coming from the vehicle. The contact called the dealer and was given an estimate for a diagnostic test. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 170,000.
Brakes stopped working while vehicle was in drive. I had to use emergency brake to get it to stop.

The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or a dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
Occasionally, when finished driving and the key is turned towards the off position it will not fully turn back in order to pull the key out. It will shut off the engine but generally stops in approx. the accy position. If you restart the engine and drive a little more it has then backed all the way off and been able to remove the key. (It has been ongoing for some time but my father has been just dealing with it.)
I believe the Airbags on 08 Equinox's need recalled. I currently have an airbag light on and would like it fixed.
Over the entire life of this vehicle numerous issues with the ABS/Stabilitrak system resulting in handling issues and expensive repairs. The problem starts with handling issues while braking or driving in slippery conditions and eventually results in dash warning messages.
Transmission Control Module is a known problem on these vehicles. When it fails, it causes a failure in the clutch wave plate resulting in a catastrophic failure in the transmission. I believe this problem is a safety issue and needs to be reported to GM Motor Corporation!!! I am currently experiencing the delayed shifting from park to drive. On some occasions, the vehicle drops into limp mode and will not go over 15 mph. It occurs at random times and when it does, it will downshift violently almost to the point of over-running the engine. It is a real safety hazard and needs a recall!!!!!
I am constantly having to fix my "learn remote" settings, vehicle stereo volume does not always match the level of it's output, blinker continues to get stuck on even after the steering wheel is in the position for the blinker to have ceased, door locks are sometimes stuck unlocked and sometimes stuck locked, ignition sometimes locked in ACC and will not allow for key to be removed, lug nuts have somehow become "swollen" and the dealership could not remove them in order to do a rotation, there is no protection plate under the vehicle causing easy access to vital items, the AC (for the third time since I got the car a year ago) has mysteriously stopped working, the fan motor continues to run for approximately 35 minutes after the vehicle has been turned off, fuel injectors are clogged (second time and I have already had this issue cleaned), headlights have collected water on inside, there is no rubber hose barrier(s) for any door, the hood, the hatch, the door windows, charging outlets are loosely fitted and do not add life to my electronics(they are for whatever reason being drained), the entire underside of the vehicle has become damaged, has begun to rust and bolts/plugs/other vital components have needed to be replaced once again due to there being no protection for the underside of the vehicle. These are just the components that I can think of off the top of my head!

I could smell gas Took it in for inspection it has not been fixed yet so we know it’s something to do with the fuel and the mechanic said if you drive it could blow up
The car overheats within a very few minutes. Faster when idelling at a stop light or sign waiting to enter a busy street. I have replaced the thermostat, water pump, temperature sensor, antifreeze (with GM antifreeze) after flushing out the radiator, and it still gets hot. The dashboard heat gauge is not working but the warning “ENGINE HOT. AC OFF” flashes all the time. We took the thermostat out so the coolent could circulate while the weather is warm. I am aware that the computer in the car has been replaced at least once and I think it may be malfunctioning now. I have an appointment with the Service Dept at McLaughlin Chevrolet dealer in Milwaukie Oregon on Tuesday June 22, 2021. I hope they will check the compression on the chambers and the computer. I want them to replace the sensor, thermostat, water pump and radiator cap with GM parts. I am slow income 80 years old grandma who helps her single daughter who works full time take care of her kids. I need to have a dependable car and I worry that if the computer does like first one did, we will get stranded on the freeway with a completely dead vehicle. Please let me know if there is any help with the expense of making it safe to drive.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO COLE CHEVY BUICK GMC CADILLAC (1156 BIG LAUREL HWY, BLUEFIELD, WV 24701) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH THE PASSENGER AIR BAG MODULE NEEDING TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 86,400.
CODE B0081 PASSENGER PRESENCE MODULE ERRATIC. SEEMS LIKE A COMMON PROBLEM CAUSED BY FAULTY DESIGN.
WHILE DRIVING MY HEADLIGHTS KEEP RANDOMLY SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. WHEN I TRY TO TURN THE KNOB TO TURN THEM BACK ON NOTHING HAPPENS. I HAVE TO TURN THE CAR COMPLETELY OFF AND START IT AGAIN. AND ALSO WHEN I PRESS MY LOCK BUTTON THE CAR STARTS UP WITH NO KEY.
THE BRAKE SYSTEM LOCKS AND OVERHEAT. EVEN WHEN NEW PARTS ARE PUT ON .AFTER 10 MIN OF DRIVING OLD PROBLEMS DUE EXIST. FROM BRAKE CALIPER TO BRAKE LINE TO BRAKE BOOSTER CHANGED
THE WHEEL TRANSFER CASE LEAKING AND ENGINE LIGHT ON. PULLING LOTS OF DIFFERENT CODES. TIMING CHAIN IS AFFECTED AND NOT 100% SURE IF IT'S ALSO THOSE OTHER CODES.
SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON - CAN'T GET ANY INFORMATION, HOWEVER, RESEARCH SHOWS THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM, HIGH COST, RECALL WAS ISSUED TO VEHICLES UP TO 2007. THERE NEEDS TO BE AT LEAST A 2008 RECALL ISSUED.
CAN'T DISABLE TRACTION OR STABILITY CONTROL WON'T LET ME GO OVER 50 MPH ON HIGHWAY OR IN TOWN STREETS BRAKES BURNT TO NOTHING LEFT AND BRAKE HOSE MELTED CLOSE ALMOST CAUSED A FIRE AND HAD TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE BRAKE SYSTEM ON BOTH FRONT TIRES. USE CRUISE CONTROL TO DRIVE AFTER GOING 40 MPH TO GET TO 70 MPH ON HIGHWAY ONLY WAY TO GET TO 70 MPH WITHOUT USING GAS PETAL OR BRAKE SO THE STABILITY CONTROL WOULD NOT ENGAGE. SLOWED DOWN BY TURNING OFF CRUISE CONTROL UNLESS I HAD TO STOP AT A RED LIGHT THEN I USED THE BRAKE PETAL THEN AFTER A FEW MINUTES LATER STABILITY CONTROL ENGAGED THEN HAD TO PULL OVER AND TURNED OFF VEHICLE WAIT A FEW MINUTES THEN RESTART VEHICLE PRESS BRAKES TO RELEASE THEN GOT BACK ON ROAD AND REPEAT .
2008 CHEVROLET EQUINOX SPORT MAKES A LOUD POPPING/CLUNKING NOISE IN THE FRONT END WHEN GOING OVER BUMPS. IT ALSO POPS LOUD WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL. WHEN I AM DRIVING ON STRAIGHT AND SMOOTH ROADS, THERE IS NO ISSUE WHATSOEVER. I HAVE TAKEN MY VEHICLE TO FOUR DIFFERENT SHOPS AND HAD IT LOOKED AT BY EIGHT DIFFERENT MECHANICS AND NO ONE CAN FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED BY GENERAL MOTORS IMMEDIATELY! I STRONGLY FEEL THAT THIS CAN BECOME A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE.
THE SENSOR FOR THE PASSENGER AIR BAG IS FAULT AND HAS TURNED OFF THE PASSENGER AIR BAG MANY TIMES WITH MY HUSBAND IN THE SEAT NEXT TO ME WITH THE VEHICLE IN MOTION ON CITY STREETS, HIGHWAYS, AND INTERSTATES. I FEAR IT WILL TURN OFF AND WE WILL GET INTO AN ACCIDENT PUTTING HIS LIFE IN UNNECESSARY DANGER. THIS HAS BEEN A WELL REPORTED INCIDENT TO THE MANUFACTURER BY MANY INDIVIDUALS AND THE 2007 MODEL HAD A RECALL IN PLACE. THERE IS NO REASON THE 2008 MODEL SHOULD NOT ALSO HAVE THAT RECALL.
VERY STRONG FUEL/GASOLINE SMELL IN AND AROUND VEHICLE. SOME FUEL DRIPPING FROM ABOVE FUEL TANK AREA. HAD THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED AT LOCAL MECHANIC. HE STATED THAT THE FUEL LINE ON THE MAIN FUEL PUMP IS CRACKED/DAMAGED.

THE CONTACT WAS PROVIDED A COST ESTIMATE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,700.
APRIL 26, 2019 THE ENGINE IN MY 2008 CHEVY EQUINOX SPORT LOCKED UP. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO MIDWEST TIRE & AUTO IN THE CICERO,IL FOR ENGINE REPLACEMENT. A WEEK AFTER RETRIEVING MY SUV ON JUNE 20,2019 FROM THE SHOP IT HAD AN EXCESSIVE ENGINE OIL AND POWER STEERING FLUID LEAK AND IT CAUGHT FIRE. WHILE THE OCCUPANCY OF MY WIFE AND 3 CHILDREN AGES 7,4, AND 2 WERE WITHIN 11 MILES OF TRAVEL FROM OUR RESIDENCE ALONG THE HIGHWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT RECOGNIZABLE FROM THE INTERIOR, FROM FRONT TO CENTER OF THE VEHICLE'S BODY IT WAS A GRAYISH COLOR. SHOWING THE FIRE'S INTENSITY.
WHEN DRIVING MY CAR AT ANY TIME THE FOLLOWING LIGHTS WILL COME ON: ABS / SERVICE STABILITRAK / ALL WHEEL DIVE - OFF / SERVICE TRACTION CONTOL. ALSO WHEN DRIVING YOU MAY SEE THE BRAKE LIGHT COME ON AND MY FOOT WOULD NOT BE ON THE BRAKE. WHEN HITTING THE BRAKE I WILL HEAR WHAT SEEMS LIKE A GRINDING NOTICE. I HAVE HAD BRAKES CHECK AND BRAKES AND ROTOR ON BACK RIGHT WHEELS REPLACE AND STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. CAR DEALERSHIP DOES NOT SEEM TO KNOW WHAT TO DO. SECOND TIME IN SERVICE. ONE TIME I HAD JUST PULLED OFF AND HEARD THIS LOUD GRINDING/ SCRAPING NOISE. IT IS FRIGHTENING . MILEAGE IS 63830 CAN HAPPEN ON CITY STREET OR HIGHWAY THIS HAS HAPPEN A NUMBER OF TIMES. WITH SPEED AS LOW AS 25 OR 60.MPH
SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AT APPROX 65,000 MILES. HAD VEHICLE SCANNED, COULD POSSIBLY BE PASS SIDE SEAT SENSOR BUT NOT 100% SURE. RESEARCH SHOWS THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM, HIGH COST, RECALL WAS ISSUED TO VEHICLES UP TO 2007 MODELYEAR. THERE NEEDS TO BE RECALL ISSUED FOR MODEL YEAR 2008 ALSO!!

HALL CHEVROLET NEWPORT NEWS (12896 JEFFERSON AVE, NEWPORT NEWS, VA 23608, (888) 320-6072) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
FUEL LEAKING FROM THE TOP FRONT LEFT SIDE OF FUEL TANK.
MY DEFROST DOESN'T WORK NOR DOES MY HEAT AND EVERY TIME I PUT GAS IN THE TRUCK IT DOESN'T WANT TO START UP RIGHT AWAY. IT'S DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AND I CAN'T SEE OUT MY WINDOWS I LIVE IN WISCONSIN. I'VE HAD MY BEND DOOR AND ACTUATOR FIXED TWICE EVEN HAD ALL MY FLUIDS DRAINED AND REFILLED. IT DOESN'T HEAT UP THE TRUCK AT ALL EVEN WITHOUT DEFROST ON I STILL GET COLD AIR NO MATTER THE SETTING AND SERVICE AIR BAG HAS BEEN POPPING UP SINCE IVE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEAVY ODOR OF FUEL WAS POIGNANT NEAR THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT FUEL LEAKED ONTO THE TOP OF THE FUEL TANK AFTER AN INDEPENDENT ASSESSMENT. A DEALER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 74,000.
HAD TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION ON VEHICLE I HAVE HEARD MULTIPLE OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THESE TRANNYS
FIRST THERE WAS SMELL IN DRIVER SIDE BACK PASSENGER SEAT. THEN THE SMELL GOT STRONGER OUTSIDE CAR, RIGHT DRIVER WHEEL WELL. TOOK TO MY MECHANIC FOR OVER 20 YEARS AND HE VERIFIED SMELL AND WAS ABLE TO STICK HIS HAND UP AND FEEL WET SPOT ON TOP/ SIDE OF GAS TANK. BOTH WITH CAR IN MOTION AND STOPPED. THE 2007 EQUINOX HAS A RECALL FOR THE EXACT SAME COMPLAINT, GAS SMELL IN DRIVER SIDE PASSENGER SEAT AND WHEEL WELL. I CALLED CHEVROLET AND THERE IS A NOTICE BUT NO RECALL. THEY ARE USING THE SAME PLASTIC PART ON THE BOTH CARS AND THE PART MAY DETERIORATE OR DEFECTIVE ON BOTH YEARS.
WHEN I PUT MY EQUINOX IN GEAR AND GO, YOU HEAR LIKE A WATER WASHING IN THE DASH. MY WINDSHIELD AND DRIVES WINDOWS FOG UP WHILE I HAVE MY HEAT, OR DEFROST ON DRIVING.
TAKATA RECALL- I STARTED SMELLING GASOLINE A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO AND IT SEEMS LIKE GAS IS LEAKING ABOVE THE GAS TANK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I AM CONCERNED BECAUSE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND MY CAR MAY CATCH ON FIRE WHILE I AM DRIVING. NEED TO KNOW IF THIS IS A RECALL. WHEN I FIRST SMELLED IT, I WAS PARKED AT THE STORE BUT NOW I SMELL IT WHILE DRIVING AND WHILE IT IS PARKED!!

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JOHN JONES CHEVROLET BUICK CADILLAC OF SALEM (1450 IN-60, SALEM, IN 47167, (812) 883-3081) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD NO WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 160,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE SERVICE TRACTION STABILIZER WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 76,120.
I WAS DRIVING VEHICLE WHICH HAS 32,650 MILES ON IT AND ALL OF A SUDDEN IT STARTED JERKING, AS IT SOMEONE WAS PUMPING THE BRAKE PEDAL AT A SPEED OF 45 TO 50 DURING ACCELERATION! I AM A HEART TRANSPLANT SURVIVOR OF 15 YRS AND DID NO NEED TO BE PUT THROUGH THIS KIND OF SCARE! I DUG THROUGH SOME PAPERS AND FOUND AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THIS ISSUE THAT STATED NOT TO BRING IT IN UNTIL IT STARTED TO DO THIS. OF COURSE THE TIME OF THE EXTENDED WARRANTY RAN OUT AND CHEVY WOULD NOT HONOR THE WARRANTY AND REPAIR THEIR MISTAKE! I INHERITED THIS VEHICLE FROM MY MOTHER IN 2015 WITH 29,000 MILE ON IT! I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH RELEASING THIS VEHICLE TO THE PUBLIC WITH THIS ISSUE THAT MAY OR MAY NOT HAPPEN! THEY SHOULD HAVE STEPPED UP AND REPAIRED THESE VEHICLES BEFORE THIS COULD HAPPEN. THE CAUSE OF THIS MALFUNCTION WAS A CRACKED SPARK PLUG OF THE THIRD CYLINDER! WILL NEVER BY A GM PRODUCT! I WAS CONTACTED BY CHEVROLET AND BECAUSE IT HAD OVER 19,500 MILES THEY WOULD NOT REIMBURSE FOR REPAIRS! THEY REPLIED THT THEY CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS SAFETY, HOW WHEN THEY CAN LET SOMETHING LIKE THIS OUT INTO THE PUBLIC.

THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT 20-30 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE SHUDDERED WITH THE STABILITRAC AND AWD OFF WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED TO THE FLOORBOARD TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND ON AND OPERATED AS INTENDED. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE DRIVING WITH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE LOSS MOTIVE POWER WITH SEVERAL UNKNOWN WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE REAR WHEEL BEARING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000.
THE IGNITION LOCKS UP WHEN SHUTTING THE VEHICLE OFF. IT WON'T LET THE KEY TURN THE WHOLE WAY OFF AND LOCKS IT IN PLACE FOR ANYWHERE FROM A MINUTE TO 5 MINUTES. SOMETIMES IF YOU SLAM THE SHIFTER IN PARK IT WILL RELEASE BUT NOT ALWAYS.
I HAVE A NEW BATTERY (PURCHASED 2-3MONTHS AGO) & A NEW ALTERNATOR (INSTALLED YESTERDAY). TODAY DRIVING TO WORK I NOTICE THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AS SOON AS I STARTED TO DRIVE. THERE IS NO PLACE TO ADD POWER STEERING FLUID AS I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY EMPLOYEES AT ADVANCE AUTO PART BECAUSE IT IS EITHER ELECTRIC OR HYDRAULIC. PLEASE HELP? ..... P.S. IT WAS LOCKED JUST B4 REPLACING THE ALTERNATOR (ABOUT 1 WEEK AGO) AND REMAINS LOCKED TODAY.
I BOUGHT THIS CAR USED FROM SOMEONE WHO LET ME KNOW OF THIS ISSUE AND COULD NOT GET IT FIXED. THIS ISSUE IS PRESENT NO MATTER IF THE CAR IS STATIONARY OR IN MOTION. THERE IS A "SERVICE AIR BAG" WARNING AS WELL AS THE AIRBAG NOTIFICATION LIGHT. THE PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG LIGHT ON THE CENTER CONSOLE IS ALWAYS SET TO OFF NO MATTER IF SOMEONE IS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT OR NOT. I HAVE READ SEVERAL COMPLAINTS OF THIS ISSUE WHETHER THE PEOPLE BOUGHT THE CAR WHEN IT WAS NEW OR USED. IT IS AN ONGOING ISSUE AND IT COSTS $800-$1000 FOR GM TO FIX IT WHICH IS LUDICROUS BECAUSE IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD FAULTY EQUIPMENT THAT THEY INSTALLED. THIS WAS THE SAME ISSUE IN THE 2007 CHEVROLET EQUINOX AND THAT WAS RECALLED HOWEVER GM WILL NOT RECALL THE 2008????
MY 2008 CHEVY EQUINOX PAINT IS PEELING ABOVE THE PASSENGER WINDOWS ON BOTH SIDES AND PEELING DOWN TO THE METAL. IT HAPPENED OVERNIGHT. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THE VEHICLE AND IT HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT OR REPAINTED. I FIND IT TO COINCIDENTAL THAT WHEN I GOOGLE THE PROBLEM OF 2008 CHEVY EQUINOX PAINT PEELING IT IS HAPPENING FOR EVERYONE IN THE SAME SPOT. I ONLY HAVE 66,000 MILES ON THE CAR BECAUSE MY COMMUTE IS ONLY 3 MILES. THE CAR HAS HAD EVERY SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE DONE AND ANY REPAIRS AT CERTIFIED CHEVY DEALERSHIPS. IT IS VERY GENTLY USED AND ALTHOUGH IT IS A 2008 I DON'T BELIEVE MY TEENAGERS BEATER CAR SHOULD LOOK BETTER THAN MY $35,000 CHEVY EQUINOX NO MATTER HOW OLD IT IS. IT IS CLEARLY A FACTORY DEFECT THAT GM WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE AT THIS POINT OR PAY FOR. RIGHT NOW THE DAMAGE IS $1000 AS QUOTED BY GM AND THEY WILL NOT PAY FOR IT. I ABSOLUTELY FEEL THIS IS A COMPLETE VIOLATION TO CONSUMERS AND SINCERELY HOPE FOR ANYONE BUYING THE NEW CHEVY EQUINOX THAT THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN TO THEM OVER TIME. GM NEEDS TO STEP UP AND TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THEIR FAULTY PAINT JOB AND JUST DO THE RIGHT THING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER (LAMB CHEVROLET CADILLAC, 400 PRESCOTT LAKES PKWY, PRESCOTT, AZ 86301) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SENSOR CONTROL MODULE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: 8-3844789289. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THEY WOULD RESPOND WITHIN TWO DAYS. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 34,000.
MY VEHICLE SHOULD HAVE TWO RECALLS; FIRST THE AIRBAGS. WHEN MY PASSENGER IS SITTING IN THE SEAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME ON TELLING ME TO CHECK MY AIRBAG AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS OFF. I'M NOT SURE IF IT WILL DEPLOY IF I GET IN AN ACCIDENT OR IF IT WILL ON ITS OWN ONE DAY HURTING MY PASSENGER. SECOND, MY VEHICLE SMELLS LIKE GASOLINE. IT SMELLS WORSE WHEN I FILL THE TANK UP AND ITS DOESN'T START RIGHT AWAY. I AM DRIVING MY VEHICLE SINCE THIS IS THE ONLY VEHICLE I HAVE. I HAVE SEEN ONLINE WERE THE 2007 EQUINOX HAD A RECALL FOR THE AIRBAG AND GAS TANK. PLEASE HELP ME.
A STRONG SMELL OF GAS COMING FROM THE LEFT REAR OF CAR, TOOK IT TO A AUTO SERVICE STATION THERE WHEN IT WAS CHECKED THE SERVICE PEOPLE FOUND THAT THE FUEL LINE ROTTED AT ONE OF CONNECTIONS AND IT STARTED TO LEAK, AFTER I HAD IT REPLACED I TOLD ME THE CAR WAS OUT OF WARRENTY AND THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.
