I BOUGHT MY EQUINOX IN OCTOBER OF 2015. AFTER HAVING IT JUST 6 MONTHS AND DRIVING IT APPROX. 3,000 MILES THE HEAD GASKET BLEW. I BOUGHT THE CAR WITH ONLY 70,000 MILES ON IT. I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL AUTO BODY SHOP, AND THEY TOLD ME I WOULD NEED A WHOLE NEW ENGINE (THEY SUSPECTED STOP LEAK WAS PUT IN TO MASK THE PROBLEM BEFORE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE). THEY ARE QUOTING $3,400 FOR A REFURBISHED ENGINE (THAT COULD RUN INTO THE SAME ISSUE) OR $5,900 FOR A NEW ENGINE. GM HAS BEEN NO HELP AT PROVIDING ANY TYPE OF ASSISTANCE. AS I'VE DONE MORE RESEARCH, I SEE COUNTLESS OTHER CASES OF THIS HAPPENING WITH LOW MILES. WE HAVE ALWAYS PURCHASED GM VEHICLES, AS MY HUSBAND'S STEPDAD AND UNCLE WERE BOTH GM EMPLOYEES. MY FAITH HAS NOW BEEN SHAKEN IN THE COMPANY, AND I WILL NOT BE PURCHASING ANOTHER GM VEHICLE ANYTIME SOON.
MY PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU ANYONE IS SITTING IN THE SEAT OR NOT.
I HAVE A LIGHT ON SAYING SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH MY AIRBAG .ALSO A TAPPING IN MY ENGINE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THERE WAS A STRONG FUEL ODOR EMITTED IN AND AROUND THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT A CRACK WAS IN THE INLET OR THE OUTLET LINE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TOP INLET OR OUTLET WAS LEAKING FUEL, WHICH DRIPPED ONTO THE GARAGE FLOOR. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V459000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000.
I WAS INVOLVED IN AN AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT; I WAS HIT ON THE DRIVER SIDE, WHEN A DRIVER ATTEMPTED TO TURN LEFT IN FRONT OF ME AND AND THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY.
I HAD TO HAVE MY SENORS REPLACED IN MINE AND WONDER WHY MINE WAS NEVER RECALLED. COST ME $1,000. I SEE HERE THE SAME ISSUED AND IT HAS A RECALL. POWER STEERING WAS MAKING WHINING SOUND WHEN TURNING AND HAD A FLUID LEAK. WATER LEAKED INTO TRUNK AND FILLED UP AREA WHERE SPARE TIRE IS LOCATED, DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW MOTOR BROKE AND STOPPED WORKING, ONE OF THE BACK SEAT BELTS DOES NOT ALWAYS STAY CLICKED, SOME PAINT CHIPPING, AND TRANSMISSION WENT AT 76,000 MILES
THE SPEEDOMETER TO MY VEHICLE IS NOT WORKING. REGARDLESS IF THE CAR IS ON OR OFF, THE NEEDLE IS ALWAYS STUCK ON 120 MPH. I HAVE ALSO STARTED TO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE BACK DOORS IN WHICH THE LOCKS ARE NOT WORKING WITH THE REMOTE. IF I TRY TO UNLOCK, THE BACK DOORS REMAIN LOCKED. WHEN I DO USE THE REMOTE TO LOCK THE VEHICLE, THE BACK DOORS WILL UNLOCK. I HAVE ALSO HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE HEADLIGHTS. THE SEALS MUST NOT BE THAT GREAT BECAUSE THERE IS A LOT OF MOISTURE IN THEM TO WHERE NOW I WILL HAVE TO REPLACE THEM. MY BACK LIGHTS CONSTANTLY GO OUT AS WELL AND AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR, I HAVE TO REPLACE THE BULBS.
PASSENGER-SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR DOESN'T GO ON OR GOES ON AND OFF WHILE IN CAR DRIVING OR STATIONARY. LOOKS LIKE THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE FROM THE 2007 RECALL, BUT NOT EXTENDED TO THE 2008. HAVEN'T TAKEN IT TO A DEALERSHIP YET BUT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM STARTED AROUND 80,000 MILES. THE AIRBAG SENSOR INDICATOR SAYS SERVICE AIRBAG ALL THE TIME AND THE SEATBELT INDICATOR FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE IS ON ALL THE TIME WHETHER THE SEATBELT IS ON OR NOT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN TURNING ON THE VEHICLE, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CONTINUED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO EMIT A FUEL ODOR FROM THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, WHO REPAIRED THE FUEL PUMP MODULE UNDER A COVERAGE FROM THE MANUFACTURER. WHEN DIAGNOSING THE VEHICLE, THE DEALER STATED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN WAS STRETCHED AND HAD FAILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,050.
I HAVE A WATER SOUND UNDER MY DASH. POSSIBLE COOLANT THAT MAY DROP INSIDE THE CAR.
SERVICE AIR BAG, SOMETIMES PASSENGER CAME ON, SOMETIMES DIDN'T, NOW FAILED INSPECTION BECAUSE OF IT. AUTO DOOR LOCKS SOMETIMES WORK, SOMETIMES DO NOT
THE STEERING KIND OF LOCKS WHILE IN MOTION AND YOU HAVE TO FORCE IT SOMETIMES TO TURN. ONCE I ADJUST THE COLUMN IT WILL SHUT THE CAR OFF AND THEN ONCE I START THE CAR AGAIN IT WILL BE FINE FOR A WHILE AND I HAVE TO KEEP DOING IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN. BUT THE COMPUTER READS IT'S FINE AND THE MACHANIC CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT
THE POWER STEERING HAS GONE OUT MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER AND PARK AT LOW SPEEDS. I'VE SEVERAL FORUMS WITH THIS PROBLEM OCCURRING A LOT. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THIS VEHICLE IS NOT PART OF THE POWER STEERING RECALLS. IT'S NEARLY $1,000 TO HAVE THIS PART REPLACED!
I HAVE ONLY 73000 MILES ON 2008 EQUINOX AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IN INDICATING THE TIMING CHAIN HAD TO BE CHANGED. THERE IS A SPECIAL COVERAGE BULLETIN #11340 THAT COVERS THE 3.6L V6 ENGINES IN AUTOS BETWEEN 2007-2009 BUT GM IS TELLING ME THAT MY 3.6L LY7 ENGINE IS NOT COVERED I HAVE THE SPORT MODEL.
VEHICLE HAS 80,000 MILES ON IT AND IT HAS A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON WITH THE DTC P0008. THIS CODE IS IN REFERENCE TO THE TIMING CHAINS NEEDING REPLACED. THERE ARE RECALLS ON OTHER VEHICLES WITH THIS SAME ENGINE AND THE EXACT SAME CODE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED STRONG FUEL FUMES EMITTING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE HESITATED BEFORE STARTING AND THE CONTACT NOTICED FUEL LEAKING FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,000.
AROUND THE WHOLE AIRBAG ON PASSENGER SIDE IS CRACKED AND ON THE STEERING WHEEL A CRACK IS STARTING ON TOP PART

LOOKS LIKE THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE FROM THE 2007 RECALL, BUT NOT EXTENDED TO 2008. HAVEN'T TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP YET, BUT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM. WAS SOLD TO ME LAST MONTH FROM A USED CAR DEALER.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE STABILITY TRACTION LIGHT ILLUMINATED WITHOUT WARNING. IN ADDITION, THE POWER STEERING MALFUNCTIONED AS WELL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 133,000. UPDATED 08/30/16*LJ CONSUMER STATED NO POWER STEERING HAS WIRING, FLUID LEAK, AND BOLTS WERE MISSING. DRIVER DOOR WILL NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK WHEN INSIDE THE CAR. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CAR IN ORDER TO GET OUT. WINDOW MUST BE ROLLED DOWN IN ORDER TO REACH OUTSIDE AND OPEN THE DOOR . VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND I WAS TRYING TO OPEN THE DOOR WITH THE HANDLE AND SOMETHING CAME LOOSE AND DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN FROM INSIDE OR WITH THE AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCK.
I BOUGHT MY EQUINOX USED IN 2015 WITH 87,000. SINCE HAVING IT, I'VE REPLACED THE TIRE VALVE SENSORS (BROKE AGAIN). I WAS TOLD THAT FIXING THEM ARE A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY BECAUSE THEY WILL CONTINUE TO MALFUNCTION. I'VE REPLACED TURN SIGNAL HANDLE. A MONTH LATER, I HAVE TO MANUALLY TURN OFF MY TURNING SIGNALS NO MATTER HOW SHARP OR WIDE MY TURNS ARE. SINCE I FIRST GOT MY VEHICLE, MY STABILITY TRACTION SERVICE LIGHT, I THINK THE ABS LIGHT AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT POPS ON. CAN'T TAKE TO MECHANIC DUE TO THE ISSUES NOT BEING CONSTANT. ONCE I CAUGHT ENGINE LIGHT ON,IT WAS A EGR VALVE, REPLACED THAT. ISSUE CONTINUES. WHEN I TRY TO ACCELERATE QUICKLY, MY VEHICLE SEEMS TO HESITATE AND/OR STALL.
I HAVE PURCHASED A CHEVY EQUINOX 2008 AND THE MESSAGE CENTER FOR THE PAST 3 WEEKS DISPLAYED SERVICE AIR BAG. THERE SEEMS TO BE A ELECTRICAL ISSUE I CAN HEAR STATIC OR SOMETHING COMING FROM THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR EVERY TIME I OPEN AND CLOSE IT. MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. I ONLY HAVE A 30 DAY WARRANTY. I CHECKED THIS CAR ON AUTO CHECK AND THE MILEAGE WAS EVEN WRONG, WHEN INSPECTED LAST THE MILES WERE 118,000 WHEN I GOT IT IT HAD 115,769 DID THEY ROLL IT BACK. WHAT SITES ARE ACCURATE? I CHECKED AUTOCHECK VIN PRO THE PAST COUPLE YEARS THEY HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING SAME ISSUES AIR BAG SENSOR ETC CHEVY SUCKS!

THE CONTACT REPLACED THE BATTERY; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,000.
AIRBAG LIGHT COMING ON INTERMITTENTLY. THE SYSTEM WILL NOT ARM DUE TO THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT SENSOR, THE SYSTEM WILL SOMETIMES WORK IF A PASSENGER IS IN THE SEAT OR MAY SUDDENLY STOP WORKING WHEN THE PASSENGER MOVES IN THE SEAT. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE PREVIOUS MODEL YEAR AND IT WAS RECALLED, WHY NOT THE 2008 MODEL? VERY POOR RELIABILITY OF A SAFETY SYSTEM.
TWICE NOW, MY 2008 CHEVY EQUINOX HAS CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE AFTER I STOP PUSHING THE GAS. BOTH TIMES, I HAVE BEEN MERGING WITH HIGHWAY TRAFFIC, SO I AM PUSHING THE GAS PRETTY HARD TO GET UP TO THE SPEED OF TRAFFIC. THIS LAST TIME, I SPENT ABOUT FIVE SECONDS TRYING TO BRAKE, FEELING THE ACCELERATOR STILL PUSHING THE CAR FORWARD. I DIDN'T WANT TO DESTROY MY BRAKES, ESPECIALLY SINCE BY THEN I WAS GOING DOWNHILL, SO I TRIED A QUICK TAP OF THE ACCELERATOR AND THAT LET IT UP TO WHERE I HAD CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AGAIN. THERE WAS NOTHING IN THE WAY HOLDING THE PEDAL DOWN, (NOT THE FLOOR MAT OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT) SO MY ASSUMPTION IS THERE IS SOME SORT OF SPEED CONTROLLING SOFTWARE FOR THE CAR THAT IS MALFUNCTIONING.
MY CAR WOULDN'T START. SO I BROUGHT A NEW BATTERY THEN MY CAR STARTED AND THEN I NOTICED STABILITRAK LIGHT WAS ON. I TRY TO DRIVE CAR BUT MY STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT TURN AND COULDN'T DRIVE THE CAR.
DASH LIGHT INDICATES SERVICE AIR BAG. THE VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN INVOLVED IN A FRONT COLLISION. THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM THE 2007 EQUINOX HAD A RECALL ON BUT ALL SAFETY COMPLAINTS ON THE 08 HAVE BEEN OVERLOOKED, COST OF REPAIRS ARE AROUND A $1,000.00. SINCE IT HAD BEEN AN ON GOING PROBLEM WHY HASN'T THERE BEEN A RECALL FOR THE 08 MODEL. DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO FIX AND SOUNDS LIKE THIS COULD CAUSE A DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY.
MY CAR HAS BEEN SMELLING LIKE GAS FOR ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF. I DON'T SEE ANY LEAKS AT THE BOTTOM OF MY CAR.

UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, THE CONTACT NOTICED FUEL LEAKING UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THERE WAS A FUEL LEAK, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE CAMSHAFT WAS MISALIGNED AND NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 91,000.
THE BACK CHILD REAR SEATBELT BECAME LOCKED IN A POSITION AROUND HIS STOMACH WHERE IT WAS UNABLE TO BE RELEASED FROM THE LOCKED POSITION, LUCKILY MY 4 YEAR OLD SON HAD JUST ENOUGH ROOM TO BREATHE LIGHTLY UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO GET HIM HELP. IT TOOK US OVER AND HOUR TO REMOVE HIM AND THANK GOD IT WAS NOT WRAPPED AROUND HIS NECK. IT IS VERY SCARY AND NOW WORRIES ME ABOUT ANY FUTURE INCIDENTS OR EVEN ACCIDENTS WHERE HE WILL BE UNABLE TO ESCAPE.
I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR ITS ROUTINE OIL CHANGE AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT I HAD A GAS LEAK AND THAT I WAS DRIVING A TIME BOMB. I BOUGHT MY CAR AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS YEAR AND IT ONLY HAD 36,000 MILES ON IT AND IT NOW ONLY HAS 47,000 MILES AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW IT COULD BE LEAKING GAS. A MONTH AFTER I PURCHASED THE CAR I ALSO TRIED TO USE THE WASHER CLEANER TO CLEAN MY WINDOWS AND IT DOES NOT WORK EITHER, AT THIS POINT, I AM AT A LOST FOR WORDS, I JUST STARTED A NEW JOB AND I HAVE TO FIND A WAY TO WORK. FRUSTRATED!!!!
PASSENGER AIR BAG DOES NOT WORK WHEN SOMEONE IS IN FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. DRIVERS WINDOW & LOCK STOPPED WORKING(HAS BEEN REPAIRED). SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL & SERVICE STABILITRAK LIGHTS ARE ON. EGR VALVE CODE, TORQUE CONVERTER CODE, EVAP SYSTEM CODE, AND ABS CODE. THERE IS ALSO A SQUEEKING NOISE FROM THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHEEL. I TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF MY CAR & HAS LESS THAN 77K MILES. ALSO LIKE OTHERS HAVE COMPLAINED I TOO GET HURT ON THE BACK OF MY LEG WHEN GETTING OUT OF THE PASSENGER SEAT.
WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, MY VEHICLE IS HESITANT TO INCREASE SPEED, WHICH COULD ALMOST CAUSE TRAFFIC INCIDENTS. I AM EXPERIENCING JERKING AND HESITATION AS THE SPEED CHANGES OR THE GEARS CHANGE. THE HIGHWAY HAS A SPEED LIMIT OF 60-65. IT MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO DRIVE DURING THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC AS THE CAR IS JERKING LIKE IT WILL CUT OFF. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND THE TEST STATED THAT THERE IS A MISFIRE IN THE SPARKPLUGS. I'VE HAD A FULL TUNE-UP AND THE SPARKS PLUGS CHANGED BUT I AM STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. ALSO, THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF. MY BREAKS HAS BEEN REPAIRED AND I AM AFRAID OF DRIVING THIS VEHICLE FOR SAFETY REASON.

I DROVE MY CAR TO THE STORE WENT IN FOR ABOUT AN HOUR. WHEN I CAME BACK OUT MY CAR WOULDN'T START. I THOUGHT MY CAR BATTERY HAD WENT DEAD SO I GOT A JUMP BUT THEN I NOTICED MY STABILITY TRACK LIGHT WAS ON AND THAT MY POWER STEERING HAD WENT OUT. AS SOON AS I MADE IT HOME TURNED THE CAR OFF AND TRIED TO RESTART IT, IT WENT DEAD AGAIN. AS I LOOK UP TO SEE WHAT COULD BE WRONG WITH MY VEHICLE I'VE NOTICED THAT THIS IS A COMMON MALFUNCTION THAT SEEMS TO BE HAPPENING A LOT. I KNOW CARS CAN GO OUT BUT THIS ALSO HAPPEN A LOT WHERE A CONSUMER SPENDS THERE HARD EARNED MONEY ONLY TO BE DUKED IN THE END. I'VE ONLY HAD MY CAR FOR FOUR MONTHS AND ALTHOUGH IT'S USED I FELT THAT I SHOULD HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED OF THIS AND IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN MY DECISION ON WHETHER OR NOT I WANT TO PURCHASE THE VEHICLE. EVEN THOUGH I WAS LUCKY AND DIDN'T CRASH. I HOPE THAT THIS DOES BECOME A RECALL AS IT IS WAY TO DANGEROUS.
I PURCHASED THIS 2008 CHEVROLET, EQUINOX FROM HENDERSON CHEVROLET IN HENDERSON, NEVADA IN 2007. ON JULY 2013 I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM JIM MOLONEY, GENERAL DIRECTOR, CUSTOMER AND RELATIONSHIP SERVICES. ON JULY 15, 2015 I WENT SHOPPING AT NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE HERE IN LAS VEGAS, NV. I STOPPED AT THE FIRESTONE REPAIR BECAUSE I SMELL GAS AND I DID NOT WANT TO MOVE MY CAR ANY MORE FOR FEAR OF FIRE ACCORDING TO THE LETTER I RECEIVED FROM CHEVROLET. I TOOK IT TO FIRESTONE TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT, THEY LIFTED MY CAR ON THE LIFT AND THEY SHOWED ME THAT IT WAS LEAKING GAS AND COMING FROM THE FUEL PUMP AREA. I TOLD THEM TO REPAIR IT FOR I CAN'T DRIVE ANY FURTHER DUE TO THE POSSIBILITY OF FIRE ACCORDING TO THE LETTER FROM CHEVROLET. ON JULY 17, 2015 I WENT TO HENDERSON CHEVROLET TO SEE IF I COULD GET A REFUND ON REPAIRS AND REPLACEMENT OF THE FUEL PUMP WHICH WAS PART OF A SAFETY RECALL. I WAS DENIED A REFUND STATING THAT THE COVERING PERIOD EXPIRED ON JULY 31, 2014. THE COST OF REPAIRING THE FAULTY FUEL PUMP TOTAL WAS $1, 137.80 THIS IS WHAT I PAID FIRESTONE AND ASKING CHEVROLET FOR A REFUND.

MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING HOME FROM A TRIP WHEN SHE PULLED OVER TO GET GAS. THE DRIVESHAFT SNAPPED IN HALF JUST AS SHE WAS PULLING INTO THE GAS STATION. THERE WAS NO WARNING, NO SOUND BEFORE THEN. SHE HAD NO CONTROL OF HER CAR. NO STEERING, NOTHING. SHE HAD JUST PULLED OFF THE HIGHWAY, SO THANK GOD IT DID NOT HAPPEN WHEN SHE WAS ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 70 MPH OR SHE WOULD BE DEAD. COST TO HAVE TOWED AND FIXED OVER $1000.ALSO PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT, HAS HAD SEVERAL ISSUES WITH FRONT END. HAD TO REPLACE THE BEARINGS, FRONT AXLE, TIE RODS 3 TIMES IN THE LAST 2 YEARS DUE TO SOMETHING WRONG WITH THIS VEHICLE AND THE WAY IT DRIVES OR IS MADE. CONSTANT "RUBBING, GRINDING" NOISE WHEN YOU TURN TIRES. GAS FUMES ARE VERY STRONG IN THE CAR, ALWAYS HAVE BEEN, AND REPAIR SHOPS CANNOT FIND ANY LEAKS. SHE CANNOT SELL IT, AS IT IS WORTH VERY LITTLE DUE TO ALL THESE DEFECTS AND NO RECALLS, AND SHE IS STILL MAKING PAYMENTS ON THIS CAR FOR THE NEXT 4 YEARS. STUCK WITH A VERY DANGEROUS LEMON.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A BODY SHOP. THE TECHNICIAN INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THERE WAS FUEL LEAKING FROM TWO CONNECTIONS ON THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000.
