I'VE TAKEN MY EQUINOX TO MULTIPLE MECHANICS AND NO ONE EVER TOLD ME ANYTHING ABOUT IT . MY VEHICLE USES AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF ENGINE OIL AFTER . MY OIL CHANGES HAVE TO BE EVERY 3 WEEKS. . WHEN TURNING ON MY VEHICLE IT SOUNDS LIKE A TRACTOR IS READY TO GO. I HAVE A SMALL SUV THAT I KNOW NEVER MADE THAT LOUD NOISE.
BRAKES APPLY BY THEMSELVES, BRINGING CAR TO A STOP. CAN HAPPEN AT ANY TIME, INCLUDING WHEN TRYING TO CROSS A BUSY HIGHWAY, ETC.
I HAVE TO REPLACE THROTTLE BODY BECAUSE MY CAR WOULD JUST STALL WHILE DRIVING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AS WELL AS REPLACING MY MUFFLER. CURRENTLY I HAVE A NEW SET OF BRAKES THAT SQUEAL LIKE NO TOMORROW AND MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT JUST CAME ON GIVING ME CODES TO REPLACE 2 CAMSHAFT POSITIONING SOLENOID ACTUATOR AND FINALLY THE CAR IT TURNING INTO A COMPLETE RUST BUCKET. .
I HAD EXITED I75 AND WAS DRIVING ON A 35MPH COUNTY ROAD WHEN THE INCIDENT OCCURRED. I WAS DRIVING AT A SLOW SPEED IN ANTICIPATION OF STOPPING AT A RED LIGHT AT A MAJOR INTERSECTION. STEPPED ON THE BRAKES ON MY 2010 CHEVY EQUINOX AND THE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY DOWN, BUT CAR WAS STILL ROLLING. NO WARNING SIGN FROM THE COMPUTER IN THE CAR. I'M SURE THERE ARE OTHERS OUT THERE WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT. MAJOR DRIVER/ROAD SAFETY ISSUE!!
BRAKE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I WENT DIRECTLY TO CHEVY DEALER. THEY FOUND THAT THE BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR WAS EMPTY AS THE RUBBER SEAL INTO THE BREAK MASTER CYLINDER HAD FAILED. THE DEALER HAD TO REPLACE THE MASTER CYLINDER AND THE BOOSTER AND FLUSH THE BRAKE SYSTEM AT A COST OF $1,210.92. I DISCOVERED THAT THIS EXACT SAME PROBLEM HAD LEAD TO RECALLS IN 2010 OF TOYOTA AVALONS AND HIGHLANDERS. ALSO NISSAN IN 2009 RECALLED SENTRAS FOR SAME REASON. MY CHEVY SERVICE MANAGER CONFIRMED THAT MY BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE WAS THE SAME CAUSE. I HAVE CONTACTED CHEVROLET HEADQUARTERS AND THEY REFUSE TO DISCUSS THE MATTER WITH ME AND REFUSE TO GIVE ME ANY INFORMATION ON THEIR EXPERIENCE OF THIS BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE.CAN YOU HELP ME?WHY IS THERE NO GM RECALL ?
COMING OFF OF EXIT 50 ON SUNRISE HWY IN LONG ISLAND N.Y. A CROSS STREET LIGHT TURNED RED AND THE TRAFFIC WAS STOPPING SO I APPLIED THE BRAKES ON MY CAR, THE BRAKE PEDDLE WENT TO THE FLOOR WHILE TRYING TO STOP. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. THE CAR HAS 51823 MILES ON IT. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED TO RESPOND WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE BRAKES WERE DEPRESSED SEVERAL TIMES WHERE THEY EVENTUALLY RESPONDED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRIC BRAKE BOOSTER VACUUM PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 71,000.

THE MANUFACTURE WAS NOT CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 43,000.
MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER FAILED AND LEAKED BRAKE FLUID INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER CAUSING LOSS OF 100% BRAKING CAPACITY. FIST OCCURANCE COVERED UNDER VEHICLEWARRANTY. RE-OCCURENCE OF THE SAME PROBLEM WAS ON AUGUST 5, 2015. GENERAL MOTORS CORP. DECLINED TO FIX THE SECOND IDENTICAL PROBLEM NO CHARGE AND STATED THEY WERE CLOSING THE CLAIM.
