THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 126,096.
AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON NOT SAFE TO DRIVE
A CODE RANDOMLY APPEARS ON THE DASH WHILE DRIVING. IT'S SAYS TO SERVICE THE POWER STEERING. WHEN THIS POPS UP YOU LOSE POWER STEERING COMPLETELY. IF YOU ARE IN A MIDDLE OF A TURN, YOU CAN LOSE CONTROL OF YOUR CAR. THIS HAS ALMOST HAPPENED TO ME. THIS CODE WILL STAY ON THE SCREEN THEN RANDOMLY GOES AWAY AND POWER STEERING RETURNS. THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CODE WILL POP UP WHEN YOUR DRIVING AND SAME RESULT, NO POWER STEERING. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN DRIVING AND THIS HAPPENS.
CHANGED WINDSHIED MOTORS AND THE GO RIGHT BACK TO NOT WORKING WITHIN A WEEK.. HERE RECENTLY IVE HAD TO PUT A EXTREME AMOUT OF OIL IN IT ITS LOSING OIL OUT OF NO WHERE CAN DRIVE 5 MILES DOWN THE ROAD AND THEN ITS GONE NOW IT HAS STARTED TO SMOKE REALLY BAD WHEN I DRIVE IT AFTER OIL IS IN AND HAS NOW GOT THE CAR TO START A SMALL KNKCK IT HAS BEEN PARKED FOR THE TIME BEING FOR SCARED OF IT DOING WORSE ITS BEEN PARKED SINCE IT STARTED TO SMOKE.. IT WILL LOSE POWER AT SUM POINTS AND NOT LET ME DRIVE FASTER THEN 25 MPH THEN ALL THE SUDDEN PICK BACK UP AND ACT JUST FINE..THE CAR WILL SMOKE SO BAD THAT ANOTHER CAR BEHIND ME WILL HAVE TO STOP COMPLETELY AND WAIT UNTIL SMOKE IS CLEAR.. ALL LIGHTS ON THE DASH IS ALSO ON
WHEN I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE, I WAS NOT TOLD THAT THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED. I HAVE REPLACED THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD 2 TIMES. THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT THERE IS METAL FRAGMENTS IN MY OIL. THAT I NEED A NEW ENGINE.
IN MOTION VEHICLE WOULD NOT GET OUT OF SECOND GEAR FORWARD AND REVERSE, TECHNICIAN STATES WAVE PLATE BROKEN THIS WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANT IN 2014
I GOT THE VEHICLE APRIL 12TH,2019 DRIVING TO WORK VEHICLE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON THEN DIED. OIL CHANGE END OF OCT THROUGH MIDAS. TOWED TO GM PART OF CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT BERMAN B MOTORS CLAIM BEING DENIED AS SAYING OUTSIDE OF SCA DATE. THEY SAY SCA DATE 12/14/2009 THE VEHICLE WASN'T MADE UNTIL JUNE OF 2010. I HAD IT TOWED IN 12/11/2019 THEY COULDN'T SERVICE IMMEDIATELY AS RURAL AREA AND OTHER VEHICLES WAITING BEFORE MINE. GOT VEHICLE OUT 1/28/2020. CLAIM WAS DENIED SAYING WAS OUTSIDE SCA DATE. CAUSE FOUND BY TECH WAS ENGINE DAMAGE DUE TO EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. MANY ENGINE PARTS WERE REPLACED. TIMING CHAIN AND VALVES WERE COVERED BY GM WHEN MGR OF ART HASSLER SEEN IT WAS A EQUINOX THEN PUT BACK IN LINE BECAUSEOF DATE THE REPAIR HAD TO BE DONE. 2300.00 AND OVER TO GET OUT. 2 SERVICE PAPERS. NO OIL LIGHT CAME ON. MAY STILL HAVE DEBRIS IN ENGINE. NEEDS EXHAUST MANIFOLD,BALL JOINTS JUST HAD FRONT BRAKES REPLACED AND SENSOR THAT SAID ALL WHEEL DRIVE IS OFF FEATURE AT MIDAS. ITS ALWAYS SOMETHING. GM SHOULD DO SOMETHING THEY SHOULD HAVE APPROVED MY CLAIM AS IT WAS IN THE SHOP THE WHOLE TIME FROM 12/11/2019 TO 1/28/2020. THEY HAVEN'T OFFERED ANY RESOLUTION OR MONEY OFF A NEW VEHICLE NOTHING. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE. THERE ARE TOO MANY OF US WHO HAVE HAD THE SAME EXACT PROBLEMS. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.
I WAS DRIVING ONE DAY AND THESE LIGHTS POPPED ON OUT OF NO WHERE THE EXHAUST RESGINATOR CRACKING THE CAR CONSTANTLY HAS WHEEL BEARING ISSUE AND THE ENGINE IS BURNING OIL IT'S NOT DOING WHAT IT'S SUPPOSED TO DO WITH IT.I WAS DRIVING ON THE L-90 THRUWAY AT 65 MPH. I GOT INTO MY CAR FRIDAY AT 12:30 SHUT THE DOOR STARTED IT AND THE SIDE AIRBAG HIT ME SHOVED ME SIDEWAYS I TURN THE CAR OFF BECAUSE I COULD SMELL THE POWDER AND I WAS AFRAID ANOTHER ONE WOULD GO OFF. MY ARM AROUND THE ELBOW AREA HURTS AND MY ARM FEELS BURNED FROM ABOUT MY ARMPIT TO MY WRIST. BETWEEN MY SHOULDER BLADES AND MY NECK HURT AND I'VE HAD A HEADACHE SINCE. I DEPEND ON MY CAR BEING ON THE AMBULANCE AND THE DEPUTY CORONER FOR BOISE COUNTY I COULD BE IN MY CAR DURING THE DAY OR IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT AND I'M AFRAID NOW TO DRIVE IT.
I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK BUT THEY ARE SAYING THEY FIXED STUFF THAT NOBODY HAS TOUCHED. ATTACHED WILL BE THEIR RECALL. AND SECOND A PHOTO SHOWING NOBODY FIXED IT, LITTLE LONE TOUCHED IT FOR REPAIR. SCAMMING CUSTOMERS. I CANNOT GET MY TIRES TO SYNC TO THE VEHICLE EITHER. BOTH SAFETY.
EXHAUST MANIFOLD BROKE IN TWO PIECES. SAME PROBLEM REPLACED BEFORE ON A 2010 GMC ACADIA WITH THE SAME 2.4L. EXHAUST MANIFOLDS ARE BREAKING IN THE EXACT SAME WAY AT SIMILAR MILEAGES. ~120,000 MILES
MY CAR STARTED ITSELF WHEN THE KEY WAS IN MY POCKET AND I WAS AT THE REAR OF THE CAR UNLOADING. I DO NOT HAVE A KEYLESS ENTRY OR STARTING FEATURE ON MY CAR. I WAS PARKED AT OUR COMMUNITY GARDEN AND MY DAUGHTER AND I WERE UNLOADING GARDEN TOOLS, SO WE WERE TOUCHING THE CAR AND FELT IT WHEN IT FIRED UP. IT WAS AN UNDERWEAR CHANGING MOMENT.
DRIVING IN VERY RAINY CONDITIONS WITH MY WIPERS ON. SUDDENLY, THE WIPERS STOPPED WORKING AND STUCK IN THE OPEN POSITION WHILE I WAS DRIVING. LUCKILY I HAD JUST GOTTEN OFF THE HIGHWAY ONTO A 45 MPH ROAD. I TRIED TURNING THEM OFF AND ON AGAIN, BUT THEY WOULDN'T MOVE AT ALL. I COULDN'T SEE ANYTHING AT ALL (DANGEROUS AND TERRIFYING) SO I PUT ON MY HAZARDS AND PULLED OFF ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I MANUALLY PUT THE WIPERS BACK DOWN. I TRIED TURNING THEM ON AND OFF MULTIPLE TIMES, AND AGAIN THEY WOULD NOT MOVE AT ALL.
ALOT IS GOING ON WITH MY 2010 CHEV MY EXHAUST PIPE CRACK AND I WAS TOLD THAT IS A REAL PROBLEM WITH CHEVY'S MY CAR IS CONSUMING WAY TO MUCH OIL I CONSTANTLY HAVE TO GET OIL CHANGES. MY DRIVER SIDE HEAD LIGHT KEEPS GOING OUT I'M CHANGING MY HEAD LIGHT 2-3 TIMES A YEAR. I REPLACED MY SPARK PLUGS AND COILS A FEW MONTHS AGO AND MY CAR WHEN I'M DRIVING IT WILL STOP AND THE WHEEL WILL LOCK UP WHILE I'M DRIVING IT .

IN ADDITION, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO PARK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO RALPH SELLERS CHEVROLET (LOCATED AT 15015 FLORIDA BLVD, BATON ROUGE, LA 70819, (225) 238-1672). THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT AN UNKNOWN TRANSMISSION COMPONENT NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED. THE VEHICLE REPAIR LASTED ONE DAY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,000. *DT*JB
GENERAL MOTORS HAVE BEEN AT NO ASSISTANCE TO ME SINCE MY PURCHASE OF MY 2010 CHEVROLET EQUINOX I PURCHASED IT FEBRUARY/MARCH OF 2016 AND HAVE HAD CONTINUOUS ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE, I CONTACTED THE PLACE OF PURCHASE AND GENERAL MOTORS NUMEROUS TIMES ABOUT THE COMPLAINT OF MY VEHICLE. ALSO WITH THE ATTACHED PROOF OF REPAIRS I REFERRED TO THE DEALERS WHO DID THE REPAIRS AND GENERAL MOTORS OF ANY CURRENT RECALLS. BACK IN OCTOBER 2019 MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON BECAUSE MY CONVERTER WENT OUT AND MY 100K WARRANTY EXPIRED, GM WAS NOT IN UNDERSTANDING AND WOULD NOT ASSIST. THEN I DID MY OWN RESEARCH AND FOUND THERE WAS A OIL CONSUMPTION LAW SUITE AND A SEPARATE SPECIAL EXTENDED WARRANTY IN THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER BUT ONLY UNTIL 120K. MY ISSUE IS GENERAL MOTORS WILL NOT ASSIST ME DUE TO ME BEING OVER THE 120K MILEAGE EVEN THOUGH I INQUIRED ABOUT IT TIME AFTER TIME SINCE THE TIME I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. I HAVE KEPT UP TO DATE IN MY ADDRESS EVEN WHEN I MOVED OUT OF STATE. I'M JUST LOOKING FOR ASSISTANCE IN WHY MY VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE LAW SUITE OR COVERED WITH THE SPECIAL WARRANTY WITH MY CATALYTIC CONVERTER. I NEVER RECEIVED ANY MAIL NOTIFICATION AND ALL MY REPAIRS WERE DONE AT A LICENSED CERTIFIED GENERAL MOTOR DEALER AND THEY ARE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE/RECALLS AND I WAS NOT TOLD OF THE ISSUES. I WOULD JUST LIKE TO GET MY VEHICLE FIXED SINCE I SPENT SO MUCH MONEY ON IT AS IT IS. I HAD TO DO MY OWN RESEARCH ONLINE TO FIND THIS INFORMATION WHICH COULD OF BEEN AVOIDED IF I WAS CONTACTED FRONT THE BEGINNING. ENGINE'S OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUES ARE RIDICULOUS. GM HAS A SPECIAL EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THIS VEHICLE, CALLED ADJUSTMENT 14159, BUT FAILED TO NOTIFY ME OF THE SPECIAL RECALL AND IT'S END DATE OF 7/31/2019. THIS ENGINE IS AWFUL, HENCE WHY THERE WERE RECALLS AND THEY ARE NOW BEING SUED FOR IT. TIMING CHAINS, ENGINE KNOCKING, OIL CONSUMPTION, PISTONS AND RINGS.. SECONDLY, THE TRANSMISSION IS AWFUL. THIS THING BLEW BEFORE IT WAS EVEN DUE FOR ITS FIRST SERVICE! MY OWNERS MANUAL STATES THE SERVICE IS RECOMMENDED ON IT, INCLUDING FLUID CHANGE, AT 100,000 MILES - I'M AT 96,125 MILES AND THIS IS WHERE I SIT. GM IS DENYING ALL LIABILITY FOR BOTH OF THESE.
ENGINE HAS MAJOR OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUES. I AM BURNING THROUGH AN AVERAGE OF 2 TO 3 QUARTERS OF FULL SYNTHETIC OIL WITHIN A 2500 MILE SPAN. SECONDLY, THE TRANSMISSION IS EXTREMELY POOR. ONLY 96,000 MILES AND AM ALREADY HAVE ISSUES IN REVERSE, TROUBLE GOING UP HILLS, HIGH RPM'S, AND SHAKING/SPUTTERING. THIS WOULD HAPPEN AT ANY TIME ONCE OUT OF PARK, FLAT LAND OR HILL.
BOUGHT A USED CHEVY EQUINOX AND THE MANIFOLD CRACKED, COSTLY REPAIR THAT I WAS INFORMED SEEMS TO BE A RECURRING SAFETY ISSUE BEING ADDRESSED 10 PLUS TIMES A MONTH BY THIS CENTER ALONE. AS THIS SEEMS TO BE A FREQUENT AND KNOWN DEFECT THAT CAN CAUSE DEATH IF NOT FOUND AND FIXED I BELIEVE THAT CHEVY SHOULD ACKNOWLEDGE THE SAFETY CONCERN AND ISSUE A RECALL RATHER THAN WAITING TO SEE PEOPLE PASS AWAY BECAUSE THEY CAN'T AFFORD OR ARE UNAWARE OF THE DANGER
WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK (5:30PM, 9/5/2019), IN PREPARATION FOR TROPICAL STORM DORIAN ON HWY 70 BYPASS IN NC, MY WIPERS, WHICH WERE IN USE ON THE HIGH SPEED SETTING DUE TO HEAVY RAIN POUR, SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING. I WAS FORCED TO IMMEDIATELY PULL OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY DUE TO ZERO VISIBILITY. THIS SUDDEN/IMMEDIATE PULL OVER ALMOST CAUSED ME TO HIT ANOTHER CAR THAT WAS MERGING INTO THE TURNING LANE. AFTER FURTHER INSPECTION, THE PROBLEM IS BELIEVED TO BE THE WIPE TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY AS THE ACTUAL WIPER FUSES AND MOTOR IS STILL IN FUNCTIONING ORDER. A NEW WIPER TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY WAS PURCHASED AS RECCOMENDED
WHILE THE WIPERS WERE IN THE FASTEST MODE THEY SUDDENLY STOPPED MOVING AND THEY WOULD NOT LOWER BACK INTO POSITION. I CAN'T GET THE WIPERS TO OPERATE AT ALL. I CAN'T OPERATE THE VEHICLE IF IT'S RAINING BECAUSE I CAN'T WIPE THE RAIN OFF.
CAR WAS DYING WHEN I TRIED TO PULL OUT ONTO THE ROAD, CITY STREET FROM A STOP SIGN.WAS ALMOST HIT. MY GRANDAUGHTER IS JUST LEARNING TO DRIVE AND I AM SCARED TO DEATH TO LET HER DRIVE IT . RUNNING AFTER KEY TAKEN OUT, RUNNING VERY RUFF. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT KEPT GOING ON & OFF AS WELL AS STABLI TRAC WARNING.SMELLED LIKE CATALYTIC CONVERTOR BURNING TOOK TO DEALER TO HAVE DIAGOSED AND THEY SAID HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ENGINE HAD HIGH CONTENT OF FUEL SCANNED AND HAD EXCESSIVE AMAOUNT OF RICH CODES AND MISFIRE CODESTHAT THERE WAS FUEL GETTING IN MY OIL SAID THERE WAS A RECALL BUT NOT ON MY VIN. SAW OTHER COMPLAINTS SAME PROBLEM THAT WERE TOLD VIN WASN'T RIGHT. COST ME $500.00 TO FIX BOUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW AND HAD TO GET A NEW ENGINE AT 62,000 AND NEW PISTONS & CRACKED MANIFOLD REPLACED AT 102,000. I HAD TAKEN THE CAR TO DEALER A FEW YEARS AGO FOR SAME ISSUE AND ENGINE LIGHT HAD GONE OFF AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. OUT OF WARRANTY NOW AND FINALLY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM.GETTING READY TO BUY 2 CARS AND I WILL NEVER BY ANOTHER CHEVY OR GM CAR AGAIN .GOING WITH THE FOREIGNS. I THINK THESE CARS ARE ALL LEMONS.I HAVE SEEN OTHERS THAT WERE ALSO TOLD WRONG VIN BUT SAME ISSUE, NEEDS INVESTIGATED. I HAVE ALREADY RECIEVED INVITATION FOR CLASS ACTION SUIT ON THIS DARN CAR! THE FAILURE WAS A SAFETY HAZARD. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 153,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
MY CAR JUST SUDDENLY LOST SPEED, WOULDN'T SHIFT AND WAS STUCK AT A STOP, WAS TOLD THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NEED REPLACING BECAUSE THE SOLENOIDS WERE STUCK. HE ALSO SAID THIS USUALLY HAPPENS IN MOST GM ENGINES.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE WITH MY DAUGHTER IN MY CAR IN HEAVY TRAFFIC WITH CONSTRUCTION ALL AROUND AND IT BEGAN TO RAIN HEAVILY SO I TURNED ON THE WIPERS AND THE WIPERS WENT UP AND STOPPED RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY FACE, I COULDN'T SEE ANYTHING. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE PEOPLE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED! HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN WITH NO WARNING LIGHT OR ALARM OR ANYTHING. I WAS TERRIFIED!

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS AN UNKNOWN RECALL PERTAINING TO THE FAILURE, BUT IT APPLIED TO CANADIAN VEHICLES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,000.
THERE IS A GM LAWSUIT FOR MY MAKE AND MODEL OF CAR. GM IS FULLY AWARE THERE ARE ISSUES WITH THE ENGINE CONCERNING EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION AND THE DAMAGE IT DOES TO THE CARS. THEY ARE HIDING BEHIND THE LAWSUIT AND MAKING IT THE BURDEN TO THE CUSTOMER TO PROVIDE PROOF THAT EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION HAPPENED TO THEIR CAR. I AM ONE OF THE PERSONS THAT HAS BEEN DENIED COMPENSATION DUE TO THE FACT MY VEHICLE EXCEEDED THE 10 YEAR MARK IN THE LAWSUIT WHEN I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN JUNE OF 2019 NOT KNOWING ANYTHING ABOUT A LAWSUIT REGARDING THIS VEHICLE AND IMMEDIATELY HAVING ISSUES WITH THE OIL CONSUMPTION AND DAMAGE TO MY CAR'S ENGINE. I PROVIDED DOCUMENTS NEEDED AND WAS DENIED. I BELONG TO A GROUP ON FACEBOOK FOR THIS LAWSUIT AND CUSTOMERS THAT ARE GETTING SCREWED OUT OF COMPENSATION FOR MONEY ALREADY PUT INTO THEIR VEHICLES. I PURCHASED MY CAR FOR $10,000 IN JUNE 2019 AND HAVE ALREADY PUT ALMOST $6,000 IN REPAIRS DUE TO EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION BACK INTO MY CAR. I AM UPSIDE DOWN IN MY CAR, HAVE BARELY HAD IT A YEAR AND HALF AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS COME ON AGAIN AND IS MOSTLY LIKE DUE TO THE SAME ISSUES. I HAVE TO REPLACE THROTTLE BODY BECAUSE MY CAR WOULD JUST STALL WHILE DRIVING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AS WELL AS REPLACING MY MUFFLER. CURRENTLY I HAVE A NEW SET OF BRAKES THAT SQUEAL LIKE NO TOMORROW AND MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT JUST CAME ON GIVING ME CODES TO REPLACE 2 CAMSHAFT POSITIONING SOLENOID ACTUATOR AND FINALLY THE CAR IT TURNING INTO A COMPLETE RUST BUCKET. .
CAR SLOWED DOWN DURING DRIVING, I PULLED OVER AND TRIED TO CHANGE GEARS; UNABLE TO DO SO, I CALLED THE PICK UP TRUCK, AFTER THEY CHECKED THE CAR THEY SAID THE PROBLEM WAS THE TRANSMISSION AND I SHOULD CALL THE DEALER BECAUSE OF THE LOW MILLAGE AND THAT THE TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS FULL.
TIMING AND OR BALANCE CHAIN TO THE ENGINE IS STRETCHED AND COULD RESULT IN BREAKAGE. THIS CAN HAPPEN AT ANYTIME. THIS HAS BEEN A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS ENGINE AS REPORTED IN GM SPECIAL COVERAGE 12312D THAT SPECIFICALLY COVERS 2010-2011 CHEVROLET EQUINOX, ALONG WITH 3 OTHER MODEL VEHICLES. MY VIN IS NOT FLAGGED AS PART OF THIS SPECIAL COVERAGE ALTHOUGH IT IS CAUSING THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE SAME MODEL AND YEAR AS DEPICTED IN THE SPECIAL COVERAGE.

I DO BELIEVE THAT ANY ADDITIONAL PARTS REQUIRED TO MAKE THE VEHICLE SAFE SHOULD BE AT THE MANUFACTURER EXPENSES. THE TROUBLESHOOTING WAS NOT DONE THE RIGHT WAY IN ORDER TO ISOLATE THE COMPONENTS.

PRIOR TO THE RECALL, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEFROSTER, HEATER, INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTING, AND RADIO CONTROLS BECAME INOPERATIVE INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT ASKED THE DEALER TO REMEDY THE FAILURES; HOWEVER, THEY COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE DEFECTS WERE NEVER REMEDIED. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 09V489000(VISIBILITY), WHICH SHE ASSOCIATED WITH THE FAILURES. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM THE RECALL. DRIVER SIDE WIPER STOPPED WORKING
WAS DRIVING WITH DAUGHTER IN THE CAR. STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN AND WENT TO GO INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CITY WHEN IT STOPPED. CARS HAD TO GO AROUND ME AND I WAS STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT. HAD A FRIEND TOW IT HOME AND FOUND OUT THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS COMPLETELY REBUILT. WHEN CALLING AROUND TO FIND REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSIONS, BECAUSE THE CAR IS SO SPECIFIC AND THERE ARE SO MANY TRANSMISSION ISSUES WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL, THERE ARE ONLY 2 POSSIBLE TRANSMISSIONS IN AN ENTIRE SPAN OF 3 STATES. THIS IS MAKING IT ALSO NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO REPLACE AS WELL AS AFFORDABLE.
THE CAR WOULD NOT GO IN REVERSE GEAR AND ONLY HAD 1ST AND 2ND GEAR IN FORWARD
MY 2010 CHEVY EQUINOX WAS RUNNING FINE AND OUT OF THE SUDDEN, IT STOPPED AND WENT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING. IT REFUSED TO START AGAIN. I HAVE RECENTLY DONE AN OIL CHANGE AND THE WAS NO WARNING ON THE DASHBOARD TO INDICATE ANY PROBLEM. I BOUGHT THIS CAR ABOUT 6 MONTHS AND THIS TOOK PLACE. THIS CAR WAS WELL MAINTAINED, OIL CHANGES AND OTHER MAINTENANCE WERE DONE ON TIME. I TOOK IT TO A SHOP AND WHILE THE MECHANICS WERE TRYING TO MAKE IT START, IT WILL NOT START. THEY (MECHANICS) CALLED THE DEALER AND SOMEONE FROM THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT THE PROBLEM WAS COVERED UNDER MANUFACTURER WARRANTY SO I SHOULD TAKE THE CAR TO THEM FOR THEIR TECHNICIANS TO DO A TEST. AFTER THE TEST THEY SAID IT WAS A LOW ENGINE KNOCK AND I WILL HAVE TO GET ANOTHER ENGINE BY MYSELF BECAUSE THE MANUFACTURER DOESN'T COVER IT. DON'T KNOW WHO TO BELIEVE NOW. MY CAR THAT I JUST BOUGHT IS DOWN AND I'M STUCK IN THIS TERRIBLE SITUATION.
'OIL CONSUMPTION AND DRIVEABILITY , VEHICLE USING MORE THAN ONE QUART OF OIL EVERY 400 MILES OR LESS, WAS AT BUSY INTERSECTION IN CITY ON MAJOR CITY STREET AND CAR FROZE UP, WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AND ALMOST CAUSED ANOTHER VEHICLE TO HIT ME FROM BEHIND. TURNED OFF VEHICLE, THEN TURNED KEY AND IT STARTED LONG ENOUGH TO DRIVE INTO NEAREST PARKING LOT. HAD TO PRESS GAS PEDDLE ALL THE WAY DOWN AND VEHICLE WOULD NOT REVERSE AT AT. TOW TRUCK WAS CALLED AND TOWED TO LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP. IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEMS DUE TO THE 2010 ENGINE THAT IT WAS BUILT WITH. WAS ADVISED TO KEEP WATCH ON OIL UNTIL DECIDE HOW TO FIX ENGINE.
I TOOK MY EQUINOX TO THE GARAGE STARTED OUT AS AN OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE THEN TURNED INTO THE WHOLE MOTOR GETTING REBUILT.
WHILE DRIVING, VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE AND WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO NEXT GEAR, THEN SEEMED TO JUMP INTO HIGHER GEAR. THIS CAUSED ME TO ALMOST BE HIT BY MOTOR VEHICLE BEHIND ME. SECOND TIME, I WAS TURNING INTO BUSY INTERSECTION AND CAR COMPLETELY STALLED, TURNED OFF KEY AND RESTARTED CAR AND IT WOULD NOT DRIVE OVER 20 MILES AN HOUR SO PULLED INTO PARKING LOT AND WHEEL WAS VERY HARD TO CONTROL. CAR WOULD NOT GO INTO REVERSE. WAS LEFT STRANDED ON SIDE OF ROAD AND HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO CHEVY. HAS OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUES BUT RECENTLY PURCHASED CAR AND PASSED DATE FOR RECALLS AND WARRANTY REPAIR. GM NEEDS TO OFFER ALL PREVIOUS EXPIRED TO PEOPLE SUCH AS MYSELF WHO PURCHASE USED VEHICLES THAT WERE NEVER CORRECTED DURING RECALL TIMES.ALSO MY VIN WAS NOT LISTED IN RECALL BUT HAS THE EXACT ISSUES. THIS WAS CONFIRMED BY GM.
I WAS DRIVING IN HEAVY RAIN AND THE WIPER WENT PAST THE DRIVER SIDE WINDSHIELD AND JUST STOPPED WORKING. I HAD TO PULL OVER AND WAIT TILL RAIN STOPPED TO DRIVE HOME. THE MOTOR SOUNDS LIKE IT'S WORKING BUT WIPERS WILL NOT MOVE.
I STARTED NOTICING THAT WATER WAS SOAKING THE FLOOR MAT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE CAR AFTER IT RAINED OR I WENT THROUGH A CAR WASH. I TOOK THE CAR TO A REPAIR SHOP AND THEY NOTIFIED ME THAT THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR IS NOT WELDED PROPERLY FROM THE MANUFACTURER, SO THE SPACE WHERE IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN WELDED TOGETHER HAS LEFT HOLES ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR. THESE HOLES PROVIDE AN AREA WHERE WATER LEAKS INTO THE CAR AND CONTINUOUSLY SOAKS THE FLOORS. THERE IS ALSO INFORMATION FROM GM THAT STATES OTHER 2010 CHEVROLET EQUINOX CARS HAVE HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM, SO IT IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM.

THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP WAS PREVIOUSLY REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,000.
CAR WILL STOP AFTER PRESSING THE BREAK. WIPERS NO LONGER WORK. NOW CAR WON'T START DUE TO TIMING BELT
MY 2010 CHEVROLET EQUINOX IS BURNING OIL VERY FAST. I HAVE HAD A MECHANIC AT MY WORK CHECK THE OIL LEVEL EVERY THURSDAY FOR THE LAST MONTH AND ADD APPROXIMATELY 1.5 LITRES EVERY THURSDAY. MY CO-WORKER HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH HER EQUINOX AND IT WAS A RECALL. HER OIL WAS GOING INTO HER FUEL. THIS IS CLEARLY AN ISSUE THAT SEEMS TO BE REOCCURRING. BEFORE REALIZING THAT THE OIL WAS AN ISSUE, MY CAR WOULD AUTOMATICALLY SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING- SOMETIMES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WIPER LINKAGE FRACTURED; HOWEVER, THE ENTIRE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 132,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
