DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD GOING 55MPH AND ALL OF A SUDDEN I LOOSE SPEED CONTROL TO ALMOST 20 MPH. I TRY TO PRESS THE GAS TO ACCELERATE AND IT FEELS LIKE THE BRAKES ARE BEING PRESSED DOWN. HAVE TO PRESS GAS PEDAL ALMOST TO THE FLOOR TO GET IT OFF THE ROAD SAFELY. IMMEDIATELY TURNED ON EMERGENCY FLASHERS TO ALERT VEHICLES BEHIND ME. STABILITRK LIGHT AND TC LIGHT COMES ON. I HAVE READ PLENTY OF FORUMS HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH THE 2010 CHEVERELET EQUINOX AND NOBODY SEEMS TO KNOW THE SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM. HAVE HAD SEVERAL MECHANICS AND BREAK SPECIALIST LOOK AT THE PROBLEM AND THEY ARE CONFUSED TO WHY THIS IS HAPPENING. I HAVE A SMALL CHILD IN THE BACK SEAT. THANK GOD WE WEREN'T ON A 70 MPH HIGHWAY AND THAT HAPPENED. THERE COULD HAVE BEEN FATALITIES. I DONT HAVE ANY MECHANIC RECEIPTS BECAUSE THEY DONT KNOW WHAT TO START TO FIX THE PROBLEM WITH. THEY SAID IT COULD BE NUMEROUS IDEAS( BRAKES, THROTTLE, ELECTRICAL, ETC). THIS SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED IMMEDIATELY!!
2010 CHEVY EQUINOX LTZ WINDSHIELD FAILURE! WEDNESDAY NIGHT, MAY 2, 2018, I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM THE FOUR WINDS CASINO, SOUTH BEND, IN, IT WAS POURING DOWN RAIN...WHEN I GOT INTO MISHAWAKA, IN, MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS SUDDENLY STOPPED AND LODGED TO THE LEFT OF THE DRIVERS SIDE! I GOT OUT OF THE CAR, PUSHED THE WIPERS BACK DOWN IN THERE PROPER PLACE AND I COULD HEAR THE MOTOR RUNNING! I GOT BACK INTO THE CAR AND TURNED ON THE WIPERS SEVERAL TIMES, THEY WOULD NOT BUDGE...I TOOK THE EQUINOX INTO BASNEY HONDA ON THURSDAY, MAY 3, 2018 AND THEY INSPECTED THE VEHICLE. THEY TOLD ME THE WINDSHIELD MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED! I BOUGHT THIS SUV IN MARCH FROM BASNEY HONDA! I HAVE ONLY HAD THE CAR A COUPLE OF MONTHS AND PROBLEMS ALREADY? THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS, PLUS, THE COST OF REPAIR! TOTAL COST= $453.43. ALSO, MY RESEARCH SHOWS MANY RECALLS ON THIS SAME ISSUE BY GM! MANY COMPLAINTS BY CONSUMERS! WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING, AND WHY HAS THIS NOT BEEN ADDRESSED? NO WONDER NO ONE WANTS TO BUY A CHEVY! WHEN I PURCHASED MY 2002 TOYOTA CAMRY SOLARA USED IN 2010, IT WAS YEARS BEFORE I HAD ANY REPAIRS! NEVER A WINDSHIELD ISSUE LIKE THIS...NEVER! I THOUGHT I HAD MADE A GOOD CHOICE BUYING THIS CHEVY EQUINOX SUV, LIKING IT A LOT, BUT, NOW, I AM LOOKING TO GET ANOTHER TOYOTA, HONDA, NISSAN OR MAZDA AND TRADE THIS ONE IN! I HAVE CALLED A CERTIFIED CHEVY DEALER TO HAVE AN INSPECTION AND DIAGNOSTIC DONE ON THURSDAY, MAY 10, 2018. AFTER THAT, I WILL CALL THE CHEVY RECALL NUMBER FOR FURTHER ASSISTANCE! THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SAFETY HAZARD! I COULD NOT SEE! I COULD HAVE HAD AN ACCIDENT AND RAN OFF THE ROAD, OR WORSE YET, BEEN KILLED OR KILLED SOMEONE ELSE! I HOPE I CAN GET REIMBURSED THE COST OF THIS REPAIR!
TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AT 109,000 MILES. NO WARNING, AND CAR HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED.
AS I WAS APPROACHING TO A STOP LIGHT MY TRUCK BEGAN TO SHAKE AND VIBRATE AS IT WAS TRYING TO SHUT ITSELF DOWN. AS THE LIGHT TURNED AND AND I TRIED TO PUSH THE GAS PEDDLE, THE CAR WENT A LITTLE THEN STOPPED. I CRANKED THE KEY AGAIN, STARTED, THEN SHUT OFF. NOW THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE MY THE TRUCK WOULD START BACK UP AND DRIVE AGAIN. YOU CAN HEAR THIS WEIRD RATTLING NOISE AND WHILE DRIVING I WAS ALWAYS CAUTIOUS NOT KNOWING IF MY CAR WOULD JUST STOP RANDOMLY, OR IT IF WAS JUST A FLUKE. NO FLUKE. I SEE MANY PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUES AND GM NEEDS TO BE HELD RESPONSIBLE! I DRIVE WITH MY 3 AND 4 YEAR OLD DAILY, AS WELL AS TAKING MY CLIENT'S TO AND FROM APPOINTMENTS AND RUNNING ERRANDS. JUST FEEL SO VIOLATED THAT A CAR WAS SOLD TO ME KNOWING THE PRE HISTORIC CONDITIONS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, AN ABNORMAL NOISE WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE DASHBOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BLEND DOOR MOTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 79,000.
OWNER WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND WAS SLOWING DOWN TO A STOP LIGHT AND THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, THE ENGINE MADE A KNOCKING NOISE AND CONTINUED TO SHUT OFF AT EVERY STOP LIGHT AND STOP SIGN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A MECHANIC WHO INFORMED THE DRIVER THAT THERE WAS VERY LITTLE OIL IN THE ENGINE. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE OWNER THAT THERE WERE METAL SHAVINGS IN THE OIL THAT WAS LEFT. THE MECHANIC TOLD THE OWNER THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED AT THE END OF JAN 2018 AND HAD AN OIL CHANGE AT RHAT TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN HOME FROM THE MECHANIC AND HAS SAT SINCE.
WHEN I ACTIVATED THE SWITCH TO TURNED ON THE WIPER BLADES, I COULD HERE THE MOTOR, BUT THE BLADES WOULD NOT MOVE AT ALL. THE PROBLEM WAS THE WIPER TRANSMISSION WAS BROKEN. THIS OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING IN A SNOW STORM ON 4-15-2018. I TOOK THE CAR TO A CHEV. DEALER AND IT WAS REPAIRED FOR 371.44 INCLUDING TAX.
WHILE DRIVING IN THE RAIN THE WIPERS STOPPED WORKING IN THE VERTICAL POSITION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS NO OIL IN THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REQUESTED THAT THE VEHICLE BE TOWED TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000.
VARIABLE VALVE TIMING CHAIN ISSUE AS WITH THE PREVIOUS YEARS MODELS THAT HAVE HAD PROBLEMS.2007 TO 2009 MODEL YEARS WERE RECALLED FOR THIS SAME ISSUE AND THE 2010 MODEL YEAR V6 IS HAVIG THE SAME PROBLEM. CODES P0016 AND P0017. CRANKSHAFT AND CAMSHAFT CORRELATION. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATES. SAME PROBLEM AS 2007 THRU 2009 THAT WERE COVERED. I CALLED GM BUT THEY SAID THE RECALL DID NOT COVER MY VIN SPECIFIC.
OUR 2010 CHEVY EQUINOX WAS WORKING FINE. LAST WEEK WE CAME TO A STOP AT A STOP SIGN... HEARD A BANG NOISE AND IT STARTED TO IDLE ROUGH, AND SHUT OFF AT STOP SIGN ( HARD TO EVEN KNOW...SINCE RADIO STILL PLAYING). ALSO SOUNDS LIKE A THRASHING MACHINE.... CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND HAS SINCE GONE OFF AND BACK ON AND BACK OFF. WHAT IS THE BEST CORRECTION FOR THIS SAFETY ISSUE. CONTINUES TO SHUT OFF AT STOP SIGNS. ????
THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. A TEXAS CERTIFIED REPAIR SHOP DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE AND CONCLUDED THAT THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE ENTIRELY REPLACED AT A COST OF $3,000.
MY CAR STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY AND I HAD TO SIT THERE FOR A A LITTLE WHILE BEFORE IT STARTED BACK. THE CAR STARTED BACK. I DROVE THE CAR A LITTLE OVER A 1/.2 OF MILE AND IT STOPPED AGAIN. I STOPPED AND AND SAT AND CRANKED IT BACK UP. I MADE IT TO THE REPAIR SHOP TO BE TOLD MY TRANSMISSION HAD FAILED. THE CAR ONLY HAS 116,000 MILES ON IT. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE 2 AIR COMPRESSORS ON THE CAR. THE CAR HAS ALSO DID AN AUTOMATIC SHUTDOWN ON ME. I HAVE HAD TO TOW THIS CAR 4 TIMES. I THINK THE 2010 EQUINOX IS A FAULTY CAR AND IS UNSAFE FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES TO BE RIDING AROUND IN. THE LAST ACCIDENT HAPPEN ON A BUSY INTERSECTION WITH ME AND MY HUSBAND WE COULD HAVE BEEN HURT WITH ALL THE MAJOR TRAFFIC COMING IN OUR DIRECTIONS.
I COULD NOT TURN ON MY DEFROST ON WHILE I WAS DRIVING I HAD TO PULL OVER AND WAIT FOR IT TO KICK BACK ON SO IT COULD DEFROST ENOUGH FOR ME TO SEE WHERE I WAS GOING TO GET HOME I HAVE THE VIDEOS

AN UNKNOWN DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE COMPUTER MODULE FAILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
OIL CONSUMPTION. I'VE SPEND 2K IN REPAIRS OVER THIS PAST YEAR FOR OIL CONSUMPTIONS PROBLEMS AND IT STILL CONSUME AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF OIL, TO THE POINT I HAVE TO ADD A QUART A WEEK TO STOP THE OIL FROM EXTREMELY RUNNING LOW.
I PUT IN A NEW CADILLAC CONVERTER AND EVERY TIME I TURN AROUND I HAVE TO CHANGE THE O2 SENSORS BANK1 02 SENSOR KEEPS GIVING ME P034 & P054 IN A PERMANENT P0420 IT GETS VERY EXPENSIVE CHANGING THE SAME REPAIRS OVER AND OVER AGAIN . THIS HAPPEN WHEN I'M IN MOTION ,THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON ALL THE TIME .
OIL CONSUMPTION. I HAVE TO PUT OIL IN IT EVERY TWO WEEK BECAUSE OIL IS EMPTY. IT DOES NOT LEAK AND THE VEHICLE IS PART OF A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT 4 OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUES. I CALLED CHEVROLET THEY ONLY WANT TO COVER HALF THE PARTS TO REPAIR WHICH WILL COST ME AN ADDITIONAL $3,000. I HAVE ALREADY REPLACED THE TIMING CHAIN AT $1,800 AND THE TRANSMISSION AT ANOTHER $3,700.
WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET HEADED TO THE HIGHWAY LOST GEARS WITH NO WARNING MY CAR WOULD NOT GO INTO ANY GEARS.

THE CONTACT CALLED A LOCAL DEALER (CHEVROLET OF HOMEWOOD, 18033 HALSTED ST, HOMEWOOD, IL 60430) AND WAS INFORMED THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT IT WAS UP TO THE DEALER TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 117,535.
MY VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES AS REPORTED IN GM SERVICE BULLETIN 14882. I WAS TOLD MY VIN WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THAT'S BULLETIN. I HAVE SPENT $800 SO FAR ON REPAIRS. RECENTLY ALL THE OIL WAS LOST THROUGH BLOWN SEAL DUE TO PRESSURE BUILD UP IN THE ENGINE. EXCESS MOISTURE WAS FOUND IN AIR BOX NEAR PCV HOSE.

THE CONTACT PURCHASED AN ELECTRICAL BOX FROM THE DEALER TO REPAIR THE ENGINE FAILURE; HOWEVER, THE BOX DID NOT ASSIST WITH THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED AGAIN FOUR DAYS LATER WITHOUT WARNING. SINCE OWNING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT HAS HAD THE ENGINE, FUEL PUMP, ELECTRIC LINE, DOORS, AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WHILE AT A STOP SIGN, DURING RAINY WEATHER, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED. THE CONSUMER CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER'S VEHICLE BEGAN SMOKING. THE CONSUMER HAD HEADACHES, BACK/NECK/SHOULDER PAINS, AND WHIPLASH. *JS

WHILE DRIVING MY EQUINOX, THERE WAS A WHINING NOISE THAT STARTED. WHEN I TURN MY WHEEL, THE STEERING WHEEL IS MAKING A GRINDING NOISE. AND BECOMES VERY LOOSE. I CURRENTLY DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR

SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF I AM STOPPED OR DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD.
MY CATALYTIC CONVERTER WENT OUT WITH LESS THAN 100,000 MILES ON THE CAR. THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN FOR THIS ISSUE, BUT MY CAR DOES NOT FIT IN THE "BUILD DATE WINDOW" ALTHOUGH THE BULLETIN COVERS THE YEAR AND ENGINE TYPE.
BULLETIN #14882. MY CAR IS AT 124,532 MILES WHEN THE REAR MAIN SEAL BLEW OUT DUE TO FREEZING OF THE PCV VALVE. AFTER MANY TIMES OF THIS CAR BEING IN THE SHOP GETTING REPAIRED, THEY WEREN'T WILLING TO TAKE ANY OF THE RESPONSIBILITY AND FIX IT, DUE TO THE MILES OF THE CAR BEING BARELY OVER THEIR LIMIT. I FEEL THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE SOMETHING TO HELP ME OUT.
LOW OIL, MIXED WITH ANTIFREEZE. ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. GOOD TO MY MECHANIC, ENDED REPLACING THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS, WATER PUM, SPARK PLUGS, BATTERY.
2010 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO PROBLEMS WITH HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP NEED TO BE REPLACED 3.5 YEARS APART. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2010 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, ONE OF THE TIRES ON THE PASSENGER SIDE EXPLODED AND CAUSED THE DRIVER'S AIR BAG TO DEPLOY WITHOUT WARNING. THERE WERE NO INJURIES FROM THE DEPLOYMENT. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. SUDDENLY, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AND CRASHED INTO THE GUARDRAIL. THE CONTACT SUFFERED HEAD INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE DEALER (SCOVILLE-MENO CHEVROLET GMC, 8 S MAIN ST, BAINBRIDGE, NY 13733, (877) 274-2485) WAS CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. PCV SYSTEM FAILURE WITH A BLOWN REAR MAIN SEAL. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY THE REAR MAIN SEAL BLEW TO A KNOWN FAULTY DESIGN BY GM. THIS CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO LOOSE ALL POWER & OIL ON THE HIGHWAY. TRIED TO GET THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, ALMOST HITTING OVER CARS DUE TO LOSS OF POWER. THIS WAS LATER DETERMINED INVESTIGATED AND FOUND TO BE A KNOWN PCV SYSTEM FAILURE. GM IS AWARE OF THE MANY OF REPORTS OF THE 2.4 MOTOR & THE PROBLEMS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000.
ON DECEMBER 22ND, 2017 AS MY HUSBAND AND I WERE TRAVELING TO OUR HOMETOWN FROM FORT BRAGG, NORTH CAROLINA, OUR VEHICLE UNEXPECTEDLY LOST ACCELERATION WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT NIGHT. THIS WAS NOT ONLY VERY SCARY, BUT ALSO VERY DANGEROUS. IMAGINE OTHER VEHICLES WHIZZING BY AT 80MPH AT NIGHT AND YOUR CAR ONLY WANTS TO GO A FOURTH OF THAT. THE SCREEN READ, 'REDUCED ENGINE POWER'. WE WERE FORTUNATE THAT NO ONE RAN INTO THE BACK OF OUR VEHICLE, BEFORE WE COULD PULL OFF ON TO THE SHOULDER. WHILE AT THIS DEALERSHIP, WE WERE GIVEN THE FOLLOWING DIAGNOSIS CODES, P0016 CRANKSHAFT POSITION NOT PLAUSIBLE, P0089 FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR PERFORMANCE, P228D FUEL PRESSURE REG 1 PERFORMANCE,EBCM V0100-71 LOST COMMUNICATION. THE MAN HELPING US RECOMMENDED THAT THE PISTONS AND RINGS/ TIMING CHAINS BE REPLACED FOR $5629.67 OR AN ENGINE SWAP FOR $9250.76. COME TO FIND OUT, THIS IS A WELL-KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE 2010 CHEVROLET EQUINOX AND CAR FORUMS ALL OVER THE INTERNET HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE EXACT SAME ISSUES. HOW IS THERE NOT A RECALL FOR THIS? THIS IS HIGHLY UNSAFE!
TIMING CHAIN, WATER PUMP, TENSIONER ALL WENT BAD, CAUSING FURTHER INTERNAL PROBLEMS. CAME TO A STOP AND WOULD NOT RE-START. CHEVROLET REQUIRED AN "AUTHORIZED" DIAGNOSIS. CHEVROLET HAD PREVIOUSLY EXTENDED WARRANTIES ON THIS MOTOR TO 120,000 MILES DUE TO THIS PROBLEM. I HAD 124,600, SO CHEVROLET REFUSED TO HELP. COST ME OVER $2400 AND THE CAR STILL WON'T RUN. PER INTERNET SEARCHES, THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM FOR THE 4-CYL ECO TECH ENGINE. (I BELIEVE CANADA REQUIRED A RECALL ON THIS ENGINE!)
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER (KERN CHEVROLET BUICK GMC, 218 S WALNUT ST, CELINA, OH 45822) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN FAILED AND THE BOTTOM HALF OF THE ENGINE WAS GONE. THE DEALER GAVE THE CONTACT A LOANER VEHICLE AND REPLACED THE ENGINE FOR FREE SINCE THE MILEAGE WAS LESS THAN 100,000. THE CONTACT REQUESTED THE WARRANTY ON THE NEW MOTOR, BUT WAS INFORMED THAT THE WARRANTY PAPERWORK HAD TO REMAIN IN THE FILES. THE CONTACT COULD NOT RECEIVE THE WARRANTY OR A COPY OF THE WARRANTY. AT 42,000 MILES LATER, THE NEW ENGINE FAILED DUE TO THE TIMING CHAIN. THE CONTACT ASKED ABOUT THE WARRANTY AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO WARRANTY ON THE NEW ENGINE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FIRST ENGINE WAS REPLACED FREE OF CHARGE, BUT THE SECOND ENGINE WOULD HAVE TO BE PAID FOR OUT OF POCKET. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED A SECOND TIME AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A THREE YEAR WARRANTY ON THE NEW ENGINE. WHEN THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED A THIRD TIME AT THE DEALER, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED OF THE SAME THING AS WHEN SHE CALLED THEM INITIALLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A PCV VALVE RECALL. SINCE OHIO WAS NOT A COLD STATE, THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE RECALL WOULD NOT BE HONORED. THE VEHICLE REMAINED AT THE DEALER SINCE THE SECOND WEEK OF DECEMBER 2017. THE DEALER PROVIDED A LOANER VEHICLE, WHICH WAS STILL IN USE BY THE CONTACT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000. *TT *TR
I PURCHASED THIS CAR AS USED. WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT IT THERE WAS A TICKING SOUND THAT COULD BARELY BE HEARD. THE DEALER SAID THAT WAS COMMON. FOR VEHICLES SITTING IN THE LOT. I BROUGHT THE CAR BACK ONCE IT GOT A LITTLE LOUDER AND THEY SAID MOST FUEL PUMPS MAKE THAT SOUND OVERTIME BUT THERE WAS NO ISSUE. AND THAT THE MANIFOLD WAS CAUSING THE LOUD NOISE AND GAS SMELL. AND NEEDED TO GET REPAIRED. THAT WAS DURING THE WARRANTY PERIOD .NOW AN YEAR LATER. A WEEK AGO MY CAR STARTED MAKING THE SAME SOUND AGAIN AND BEEN GETTING LOUDER. MY CHECK ENGINE WAS BLINKING A D I NOTICED THE CAR WASN'T DRIVING AS SMOOTHLY AND WAS USING UP MORE GAS.AN ENGINE POWER REDUCED LIGHT CAME ON AND MY ENGINE JUST CUT OFF.I HAD TO GET IT TO TOWED TO A SHOP AND THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE FUEL PUMP PRESSURE. I SEE THERE HAVE BEEN A LOT OF ISSUES WITH FUEL PUMP ON THIS VEHICLE AND A TSB RECALL. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN AS IT IS CAUSING THE ENGINE TO CUT OFF. THIS HAPPENS TO ME ON A BUSY STREET. EACH YEAR, WHEN OUTSIDE TEMPERATURES ARE COLD, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND THE ENGINE LOSES POWER EITHER WHILE DRIVING OR IDLE, AND THE VEHICLE RUNS VERY ROUGH.

2010 CHEVROLET EQUINOX 2.4L ENGINE IS BURNING OIL. I TOOK THIS TO THE DEAL AND WAS PUSHED AWAY SAYING I HAD OIL LEAK. THIS IS NOT TRUE. I TOOK MY 2010 CHEVROLET EQUINOX TO SECOND DEALER AND THEY ADVISED THE WAS METAL SHAVINGS AND THE OIL CONSUMPTION WAS USELESS BECAUSE THE OF THE SHAVINGS. NOW GM WILL NOT REPLACE THE ENGINE, I PROVIDED THE REQUESTED DOCUMENTS SO THAT THE DEAL COULD MAKE THE EXCEPTION TO REPLACE THE ENGINE BUT WAS DENIED. EVERY TIME I GO TO START THE ENGINE AND DRIVE OFF IT STALLS.

I WAS ON THE WAY TO THE STORE WITH MY TWO CHILDREN I PULLED OUT OF MY DRIVE WAY AND THE CAR DIDNT WANT TO PULL. MY ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON I TAKE CAR TO GM DEALER AND THEY TELL ME I NEED A CATALYTIC CONVERTER, THEY DIDN'T TELL ME THAT THERE WAS A SPECIAL SERVICE COVER FOR THE PART, WHEN I CALLED THEM BACK ABOUT IT THE TELL ME THAT ME CAR WAS OUT OF THE MILE PART OF THE COVERAGE AND THAT IT WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR IT MYSELF, I CALL GM AND SPOKE TO A LADY NAME ADREA AND SHE INFORMS ME THE SAME THING I TOLD HER I NEVER RECEIVED ANY THING IN THE MAIL CONCERNING IS COVERAGE, SHE SAID THE MAILED THEM OUT MARCH 2017, I ASKED IF SHE WAS ABLE TO TELL IF THERE WAS ONE SENT TO MY ADDRESS SHE COULD NOT. THIS PART IS SHOULD HAVE NEVER BE A SPECIAL SERVICE COVERAGE, BECAUSE IT IS A ENVIRONMENT ISSUES, THIS CAR IS 7 YEARS OLD. SO I HAVE BEEN GOING BACK AND FORTH TRYING TO GET GM TO FIX THIS.

WHEN I TURN UP THE HEAT IT STARTS A CLICKING SOUND AND WILL NOT STOP UNTIL IT REACHES A CERTAIN TEMPERATURE THEN THE HEAT WILL COME ON FOR 4-5 MINUTES AND GO COLD AND WINTER IT AT MY DOORSTEP SHORTLY.
