WHEN THE CAN STARTS IT SOUNDS LIKE A DIESEL.SOME THIMES THE ENISON WILL TURN OVER AND OVER AND I HAVE TO TURN IT OFF THE TRY TO START IT THAN IT WILL START.THE CAR WILL DIE IN THE MIDEL OF THE HIGHWAY. SOME THIME I HAVE TO PUMP THE GAS TO GET IT GOING LIKE IT JUST RAN OUT OF FULE.
FIRST EQUINOX OWNED - GM REPLACED ENGINE AT NO COST TO ME. THOUGHT IT WAS SAFE TO PURCHASE ANOTHER EQUINOX. OWN A 2011 CHEVROLET EQUINOX FWD 2.4 LITER ENGINE. EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION; STALLING WHILE AT STOPLIGHTS, ETC.; ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON FREQUENTLY; MULTIPLE WHEEL HUB ASSEMBLIES REPLACED; WIPER TRANSMISSION REPLACED; CLATTERING NOISE WITHIN ENGINE THAT CANNOT BE FIXED PER MECHANIC; STABLITRAK AND ABS LIGHTS ON; LIMP MODE SEVERAL TIMES. HAVE SPENT MANY HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS TO FIX. GOING TO GM FOR COMPLETE ENGINE REPLACEMENT. 126,600 MILES AT PRESENT. PURCHASED 9/8/2016 WITH 80,437 MILES.
CAR WILL THROW CODES P0700/U0073/U1000 - LOOSES ENGINE POWER, CHECK STABILITRAK LIGHTS UP, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. CAR WILL BUCK, ODOMETER/RPM GAUGE/TEMP GAUGE WILL BECOME ERRATIC. TOOK TO THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP, UNABLE TO REPLICATE PROBLEM. UNSAFE TO DRIVE. DOESN'T HAPPEN DAILY - SOMETIMES CAR WILL NOT START/UNABLE TO DRIVE.
STOPPED AT THE GAS STATION AND THE CAR WOULD NOT RESTART. SEVERAL TIMES THE CAR DIED WHILE ON A BUSY HIGHWAY. WHEN I TRY TO START THE CAR THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS GO BACK AND FORTH 3 TIMES AND ALL POWER IS THERE BUT ENGINE IS TOTALLY DEAD. SOMETIMES AFTER SEVERAL TRIES AND A FEW HOURS LATER THE CAR WILL START. I HAVE HAD 4 MECHANICS, 3 WERE DEALERS, AND NOBODY COULD TELL ME WHAT WAS GOING ON.....AND YET I WAS CHARGED 3 OUT OF 4 TIMES. MY HUSBAND SPOKE TO 2 STREET MECHANICS AND BOTH WITHOUT HESITATION SAID IT IS THE PCM COMPUTER. AFTER MUCH RESEARCH AND CONTINUED PROBLEMS I AM NOW ORDERING A NEW PCM AND INSTALLING IT MYSELF. THERE IS ALSO A TICKING SOUND WHICH SEEMS TO BAFFLE THE MECHANICS. AND THE CAR CONSUMES TONS OF OIL. UNFORTUNATELY I AM SEEING THAT THERE ARE SO MANY CHEVY EQUINOX OWNERS OUT THERE HAVING THESE SAME ISSUES AND CHEVROLET IS NOT HELPING. SHAME ON YOU CHEVROLET!
ERROR CODE P010 CAMSHAFT POSITION ACTUATOR SOLENOID. ROUGH IDLE, DIES IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC.OR WHEN STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN AND TURNING. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE ON CARS BUILT IN DIFFERENT FACTORIES, THEY REFUSE TO REPAIR MINE BECAUSE IT WASNT MADE IN ONE OF THOSE FACTORIES. HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE SINCE VEHICLE WAS 3 MONTHS OLD. CHEVY DEALER TOLD ME THEY COULDN'T FIND ANY ISSUES
THE ENGINE IS A 2.4L ECOTEC ENGINE WHICH I'VE HAD TO HAVE THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD REPAIRED TWICE IN BASICALLY TWO YEARS BUT IF YOU LOOK ON-LINE, THIS IS A VERY COMMON OCCURRENCE WITH THIS ENGINE MODEL. IT STARTS OFF AS A CHECK ENGINE FAULT CODE, RELATED TO EXHAUST OR CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR BUT THE ISSUE TENDS TO BE A CRACKED EXHAUST MANIFOLD. WHILE RESEARCHING THE ISSUE ON-LINE, I SEE NUMEROUS INSTANCES OF THIS ECOTEC 2.4L ENGINE HAVING THIS ISSUE-AND ON DIFFERENT GM MODELS OF CARS.
PCV SYSTEM FREEZES CAUSING THE LOW POWER MODE (LIMP MODE) AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON. ITS A KNOWN ISSUE, AND GM COVERED IT ON A FEW CARS. NEXT TIME I MAY BE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC.
WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR LINK BREAKS WHENEVER I USE MY WIPERS AND THEN I NEED TO REPLACE. HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. OIL IS EMPTY AFTER NO MORE THEN 2000 MILES. NEED TO ADD 4 QUARTS TO REFILL. NO LEAKS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH FROM A STOP SIGN, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR FLASHED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO KENT CHEVROLET CADILLAC (1413 HWY 62 E, MOUNTAIN HOME, AR 72653, (870) 495-2605) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CAMSHAFT ACTUATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 173,000.
SITTING IDLE AT STOP LIGHT, ENGINED REVVED UP, TURNED INTO PARKING LOT, LOST REVERSE. PUSHED OUT OF PARKING SPACE, ABLE TO DRIVE FORWARD, BUT AT LOW MPH, BEGAN KNOCKING AND RATTLING, LOSS OF POWER. PULLED INTO 2ND PARKING LOT, TURNED CAR OFF. WAITED 20 MIN, ABLE TO SHIFT TO REVERSE AND DRIVE ABOUT 10 MIN. SITTING IDLE ONCE AGAIN, RPMS REVVED UP AGAIN, LOSS OF POWER. DROVE VERY SLOW UNTIL AT A SAFE LOCATION, TRANSMISSION LIGHT FINALLY CAME ON. BEGAN ONLINE RESEARCH TO LAND HERE. CALLED MECHANIC FRIEND, SAID KNOWN FACT WITH 3-5-R WAVE PLATE FAILURE 103,000 MILES. BOUGHT NEW DEC 2010
I BROUGHT THE CAR IN FOR EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION IT NOW NEEDS A MOTOR I JUST GOT IT 7 MONTHS AGO FROM DEALER. NO WARRANTY. ENGINE SEIZED
WHILE DRIVING IN A HEAVY RAIN STORM MY VEHICLES WINDSHIELD WIPERS COMPLETELY LOST FUNCTION. LUCKILY I WAS CLOSE ENOUGH TO MY HOME TO TAKE A COUPLE BACK ROADS AND DRIVE VERY SLOWLY WITH ALMOST NO VISIBILITY DUE TO LOSS OF WIPER FUNCTION. THIS OCCURRED ON A CITY STREET WITH HIGH STANDING WATER AND WAS BEING OPERATED AT ABOUT 25MPH. MY VEHICLE YEAR IS CURRENTLY UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR RECALL BY THE NHTSA FOR THE BALL JOINT ASSEMBLY RUSTING AND BREAKING. IN THE MEAN TIME I AM CURRENTLY TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO CONSERVATIVELY REPAIR THE VEHICLE.
DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY GOING ABOUT 70 MILES PER HOUR OVER A BRIDGE. MY VEHICLE STARTED LOOSING POWER. ABOUT 2 MILES AFTER THE BRIDGE THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. NEVER CAME BACK ON.I WAS TOWED TO A SHOP WHERE THE DIAGNOSIS WAS ENGINE CODE P228D, PREVIOUS TO THAT IN JANUARY OF THIS YEAR ANOTHER ENGINE CODE P0302 WAS CAPTURED AND IN JULY OF THIS YEAR YET ANOTHER ENGINE CODE P0420 CAPTURED AS WELL, VIA A TRACKING SYSTEM THRU MY INSURANCE.
THE CHEVY CUSTOMER CARE REP STATED THAT THERE IS A "SPECIAL COVERAGE 15285 IS TIED TO YOUR VIN, WHICH MAY OR MAY NOT BE RELATED TO THE OIL CONSUMPTION CONCERNS YOU'VE DESCRIBED. " MY VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING SIGNIFICANT OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUES AND PLENTY OF NOISE FROM THE ENGINE. I NEVER RECEIVED ANY INFORMATION ABOUT THIS ISSUE DESPITE HAVING A REGISTERED MYCHEVROLET ACCOUNT AND A HISTORY OF CONTACT WITH CHEVY. MY MECHANIC MENTIONED A KNOWN ISSUE WITH OIL CONSUMPTION AND SUGGESTED I LOOK INTO IT WHICH BROUGHT ME TO THIS POINT. AFTER CONTACTING CHEVY, THEY SUGGESTED I PAY TO GET A DIAGNOSTIC BUT THAT I WOULD NOT BE COVERED FOR ANY SERVICES DESPITE THE KNOWN ISSUE AND THAT I NEVER RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF THE ISSUE.
WHILE DRIVING, LIGHTS CAME ON DISPLAYING "ALL WHEEL DRIVE OFF", "TRACTION CONTROL OFF", AND SERVICE STABILITRAK. CAR DROPPED SUDDENLY (ON CURVE, ON BUSY ROAD) TO 10MPH. SHAKING BAD AND BRAKES BARELY WORKING. CAR SHAKES WORSE WHEN APPLYING BRAKES. DEALER WILL NOT FIX. SAYS LIGHTS ARE OFF WHEN THEY SEE IT SO THEY CAN'T DIAGNOSE PROBLEM. THIS SAME PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. ALWAYS IN COLD WEATHER. NO ICE OR SNOW THIS TIME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING IN INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR FRACTURED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO REPLACE THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT AT 80,000 MILES, THE TIMING CHAIN FRACTURED AND CAUSED MAJOR DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY BILL FOX CHEVROLET (LOCATED AT 725 S ROCHESTER RD, ROCHESTER HILLS, MI 48307, (248) 266-0563). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.
TRANSMISSION FAILED AT 50,000 MILES. I WAS DRIVING 25 MPH DOWN A CITY STREET. OF COURSE, I'M OUT OF WARRANTY BECAUSE OF YEARS, AND, GM WILL NOT CONSIDER GIVING ANY ASSISTANCE, EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE 2011 EQUINOXES. AN EMPLOYEE AT A LOCAL DEALERSHIP SAID THE TRANSMISSION IN THE EQUINOX LIKE MINE IS GARBAGE. I PURCHASED THE CAR NEW IN MARCH, 2011, AND IN FEBRUARY 2015 AT 26,000 THE A/C COMPRESSOR WENT OUT, AND I HAD TO PAY FOR THAT REPAIR.
THIS IS A SAFETY COMPLAINT. I CARRY MY GRAND KIDS AND AM WORRIED FOR OUR SAFETY. IT HAS NOT HAPPENED DUE TO THE VERY LOW MILEAGE AND AM TRYING TO BE PROACTIVE. I KNOW OF MANY MANY HAPPENINGS. THE CARS STARTING AT ~ 5000 MILES WILL STALL OUT AT SIGNALS & ON THE ROAD. THIS WILL PROBABLY HAPPEN TO ME WHEN I REACH 5K MILES.THE CAR HAS A DEFECTIVE ENGINE THAT GM CANNOT FIX. MY ENGINE BLEW DUE TO EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION FROM BAD O RINGS ON THE PISTONS.
SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR I HAVE HAD TO TAKE IT IN EVERY OTHER WEEK. THE FIRST TIME I TOOK IT IN THEY SAID IT WAS THE HEAD GASKET AND REPLACED IT. AFTER THEY REPAIRED IT THE CAR CONTINUED TO HAVE PROBLEMS. WHEN I'M AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE CAR DRIVES ROUGH LIKE A JERKING SENSATION AND THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLASHES. THIS CAR HAS HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BALISE CHEVROLET BUICK GMC (LOCATED AT 440 HALL OF FAME AVE, SPRINGFIELD, MA 01105, (413) 233-4668) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A LOSS OF ENGINE OIL AND A STRETCHED TIMING CHANGE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A PROTOCOL TO HAVE THE ENGINE OIL CHECKED EVERY 1,000 MILES TO SEE IF THERE WAS EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE OIL CONSUMPTION WAS IN THE MANUFACTURER'S PERIMETER FOR OIL USAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS OFFERED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE OF 120,000 MILES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000.

THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALL CAMPAIGNS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000. I WAS DRIVING MY 2011 CHEVY EQUINOX I JUST PURCHASED AUG 5,2018 WHILE DRIVING THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON I WENT TO TURN IN THE PARKING LOT AT THE VEHICLE JUST COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN I HAD TRY COASTING INTO A SPACE. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SERVICE CENTER ONLY TO LEARN THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH G MM C/CHEVROLET. UNFORTUNATELY GMC IS TURNING A DEAF EAR TO THIS VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. I HAD JUST GOTTEN OFF A MAJOR INTERSTATE I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED AND GMA IS CLEARLY AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND REFUSING TO DO A RECALL I'M PRAYING NOONE GETS KILLED BEFORE THEIR HAND IS FORCED TO MAKE THEIR PRODUCT SAFE FOR THE CONSUMER.
I'VE HAD THIS VEHICLE FOR 10 MONTHS AND IT'S BEEN IN THE SHOP MORE THAN ANYTHING. IT'S ALREADY ON ITS SECOND ENGINE AND THAT WAS SEPTEMBER 14TH, NOW OCTOBER 23RD IT IS NOW NEEDING A TRANSMISSION. THIS DOESN'T INCLUDE THE UNBELIEVABLE AMOUNT OF OIL CHANGES AND TUNE UPS. I'VE STALLED IN REVERSE AND DRIVE. THE CAR DIED OUT WHILE DRIVING AND IS EXTREMELY LOUD AT TIMES. ALL I HAVE FOR DOCUMENTS ARE MY RECEIPTS. I'M DISABLED WITH CHILDREN AND WHEN I THOUGHT WE WERE BUYING A CAR WE BOUGHT A LOT OF PROBLEMS INSTEAD. CONSTANTLY TRYING TO STILL FIND RIDES TO DR APPTS AND SUCH. I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT A RECALL HASN'T BEEN DONE YET, AFTER THE ALL THE COMPLAINTS ON SAID VEHICLE.

I WAS DRIVING DOWN I75 WHEN IT STARTED RAINING THEN POURING,I TURNED ON MY WIPERS AND THEY WORKED FINE FOR A COUPLE MINUTES. THEN STOPPED WORKING ,I COULD STILL HEAR THE MOTER WORKING ,BUT NO MOVEMENT FROM HE WIPERBLADES.TTRAFFIC WAS HEAVY AND I COULD NOT SEE ,I TURNED ON MY FLASHERS AND LUCKILY WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD THEN I WAITED TILL THE RAIN STOPPED TO DRIVE HOME
WHILE DRIVING CAR TREMBLED A LITTLE A MINUTE OR SO BEFORE IT SEEMINGLY LOST POWER, NO ACCELERSTION, STEERING WHEEL LOCKED. LIGHTS REMAINED ON DASH BUT NO POWER. NO WARNING LIGHTS. NOTHING. THANKFULLY WAS ABLE TO SAFELY STOP NEAR SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURNED THEBKEY AND CAR STARTED LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED. THANKFUL I WAS EXITING A PARKING LOT, AND WASNT ON THE HIGHWAY LIKE I WAS JUST A FEW HOURS PRIOR. I COULDVE BEEN KILLED
I HAVE A 2011 CHEVY EQUINOX THAT JUST RANDOMLY HAD THE TRANSMISSION GO OUT IN IT. I HAD TAKEN IT TO A DEALERSHIP NOT EVEN 2 WEEKS AGO AND THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO DO A FULL VEHICLE FLUID TOP OFF AND FULL OIL CHANGE. NEVER HAVE I HAD ANY ISSUES WITH MY VEHICLE PRIOR TO THIS AND IT ONLY HAS 90K MILES ON IT.
DRIVING ON THE CITY STREET IN THE RAIN. WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING BUSHING CAME APART. NO RECALL ON PART HOLE WINDSHIELD WIPER TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT IN THE VEHICLE WITH ONLY 85,XXX MILES ON IT. COSTING ALMOST $3,000 TO FIX IT.
I WAS TRAVELING ON THE SERVICE ROAD WHEN MY CAR SUDDENLY STALLED WITHOUT NOTICE. I WAS ALMOST HIT BY VEHICLES TRAVELING BEHIND ME. THE CAR STARTED UP RIGHT AWAY AND I WAS ABLE TO PARK SAFELY. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS NOW ON AND IT SHOWS A CODE FOR A BAD SOLENOID. THIS IS A PROMINENT PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR, I HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS PEOPLE COMPLAIN ON VARIOUS WEBSITES ABOUT THIS ISSUE. I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHY THIS CAR IS STILL OUT ON THE ROAD. IT IS UNSAFE. IT WILL KILL SOMEONE EVENTUALLY. I AM NOW SCARED TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AND WILL TRADE THIS VEHICLE IN.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE A FAILURE COULD NOT DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER FERMAN CHEVROLET 'TAMPA (9751 E. ADAMO DRIVE, TAMPA, FL 33619) WHERE THE FAILURE WAS DIAGNOSED AS A FRACTURED TIMING CHAIN AND THE ENGINE HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND CASE NUMBER: 8-4527816728 WAS OPENED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
WE WERE DRIVING OUR EQUINOX AND THE BRAKES FAILED TO WORK. THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD NOT DEPRESS. WE HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF US ON THE FREEWAY OFF RAMP AND THAT CAR HIT THE NEXT CAR. BOTH DRIVERS REPORTED INJURIES. THERE WAS NO WAY TO SLOW DOWN LET ALONE STOP. THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY EITHER. I RESEARCHED THE ISSUE AND FOUND A BRAKE BOOSTER IS THE PROBABLE PROBLEM. BOTH OUR CAR SERVICE PROVIDER AND ON LINE BLOGS LIST THIS AS AN ISSUE. SOMETHING ABOUT THE VACUUM AND BRAKE FLUID CAUSING TOO MUCH PRESSURE SO THE BRAKE PEDAL COULD NOT BE DEPRESSED. THIS HAPPENS IN HIGH HEAT AND WHEN THE CAR IS ON A HILL. AFTER THE CAR STOPS AND COOLS DOWN OR IS LEFT ON LEVEL GROUND, THEN THE BRAKES START WORKING AGAIN. THIS MAKES THE ISSUE HARDER TO FIND ACCORDING TO OUR CAR REPAIR SHOP. WE HAD GM TAKE A LOOK AT THE ISSUE AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NO OVERALL DEFECT IN THE PART. THEY DID NOT LOOK AT OUR SPECIFIC PART. THE INSURANCE COMPANY TOTALED THE CAR. THIS IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE. WE HAD SO MANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR INCLUDING HAVING THE ENGINE REBUILT FOR THE HIGH OIL USAGE ISSUE. WE ARE GLAD THAT WE AND OUR CHILDREN WILL NOT BE DRIVING THIS DEATH TRAP ANYMORE.

THERE WAS NO WARNING THAT THE CAR HAD TURNED OFF. I HAD THIS PROBLEM ABOUT 7 MONTHS AGO, AND BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER. THEY REPLACED BOTH INTAKE AND EXHAUST CAM SOLENOID AND ALSO THE EXCESS OIL CONSUMPTION RECALL ON THE CAR. THE CAR WAS RUNNING FINE UNTIL NOW, STARTED TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE AGAIN.
MY TIMING CHAIN WAS MAKING NOISE. SINCE OTHER MODELS OF THE EQUINOX HAVE A BULLETIN THAT COVERS THAT REPAIR I DROVE IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP. ON THE WAY THERE MY ENGINE EXPLODED WHILE DRIVING UP A HILL AT 40MPH, CRACKING THE ENGINE BLOCK AND EXHAUST MANIFOLD. ENGINE NEEDS REPLACEMENT. GM WILL NOT COVER THE REPAIR. ISSUE WAS REPORTED TO GM. IT IS AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR, WORKING OFF AN ESTIMATE. I WILL ADD THE FINAL INVOICE LATER.
MY CAR HAS A ROUGH IDLE/FEELS LIKE IT'S GOING TO STALL WHEN IT'S IDLING. AFTER GETTING A LOW-ENGINE POWER INDICATOR LIGHT, I TOOK IT TO MY DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED THE REAR HIGH-PRESSURE FUEL PUMP AS A RESULT OF THE CODE DURING DIAGNOSTICS. AT A COST OF MORE THAN $1,300, THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED, AND AS I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM THE DEALERSHIP, THE PROBLEM PERSISTED AND I CALLED THE DEALER RIGHT THEN. I WAS TOLD TO LET THE CAR RESET AND DO HIGHWAY DRIVING. AFTER FIVE DAYS AND A 12-HOUR HIGHWAY ROUND TRIP, I STILL HAD THE PROBLEM AND CALLED THE DEALER BACK. THEY HAD MY CAR THREE DAYS AND NOW SAY THIS IS A TIMING CHAIN ISSUE, BUT THEY ALSO SAY THAT SOME OF MY MODELS ARE HAVING HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION, LEADING TO THE TIMING CHAIN ISSUE; THEREFORE, THEY'RE TRACKING MY OIL CONSUMPTION FOR 2,000 MILES. STILL, MY QUESTION IS WHY REPLACE THE HIGH-PRESSURE FUEL PUMP SINCE THAT DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM? MY YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL--BUT NOT VIN--IS CURRENTLY UNDER RECALL FOR FAILING HIGH-PRESSURE FUEL PUMPS, BUT MY DEALER WON'T BUDGE AND INCLUDE IT IN THE RECALL. THE RECALL IS: #43180: PRODUCT EMISSION RECALL ' HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP ' (SEP 30, 2016). I ALSO CONTACTED GM'S HELP LINE, AND THEY INVESTIGATED AND DID NOTHING. VEHICLE HAS BEEN METICULOUSLY MAINTAINED. ENGINE STARTED TO STALL WHILE DRIVING, THEN WOULD NOT START. WARNING LIGHTS DID NOT APPEAR UNTIL AFTER THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. SAID ENGINE UNDERPOWERED. HAD IT TOWED TO MECHANIC, WHO FOUND THERE WAS NO OIL IN THE ENGINE, EVEN THOUGH NO LIGHTS CAME ON AND WE CHECKED THE OIL 3 DAYS EARLIER. HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER SAID THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, BUT REPAIRS SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER A SPECIAL COVERAGE WARRANTY ISSUED BY GM. GM DENIED COVERAGE WITH NO EXPLANATION SENT TO ME. I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE TO FILE AN APPEAL, AND WAS GIVEN A FILE NUMBER AND TOLD SOMEONE WOULD CONTACT ME WITHIN 2 BUSINESS DAYS. DESPITE ALMOST DAILY FOLLOW UP CALLS BY ME FOR A MONTH NO ONE HAS CALLED ME BACK. EACH TIME I AM TOLD IT THE CASE IS BEING HANDLED BY A SENIOR ADVISOR AND THAT THE OPERATOR WAS NOT ABLE TO CONTACT THEM AND THEY WOULD CALL ME BACK. I ASKED FOR THE CASE TO BE ESCALATED TO A SUPERVISOR, AND AFTER 4 TIMES WAS TOLD IT HAD BEEN, BUT WHEN I CALLED BACK TO SEE WHY NO ONE HAD CALLED ME BACK WAS TOLD THAT THE SENIOR ADVISOR WAS STILL ASSIGNED TO THE CASE. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE, WITH THE ENGINE STALLING WHILE STILL IN MOTION, WITH NO WARNING, AND IS CAUSED BY A KNOWN MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT AND SHOULD BE PART OF A RECALL, NOT "SPECIAL COVERAGE".

MY 2011 CHEVY EQUINOX HAS HAD A LOT OF PROBLEMS, I GOT THE CAR WITH 49,000 MILES ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO. I HAD TO REPLACE THE TIMING CHAIN ALREADY DUE TO EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. NOW MY CATALYTIC CONVERTER IS BAD DUE TO OIL CONSUMPTION. MY CAR NOW HAS AROUND 130,000 MILES AND I SEEN THERE IS A CLASS ACTION SUIT FOR THE 2011 CHEVY EQUINOX FOR EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. IT ALSO POSES A SAFETY RISK AS IT CAN CAUSE ENGINE FAILURE WHILE THE CARS ARE IN MOTION. THERE ARE TIMES I ADD A WHOLE QUART OF OIL AND 3 DAYS LATER I HEAR A TICKING NOISE AND MY OIL IS COMPLETELY GONE. MY CAR CONKS OUT AT STOP SIGNS ONCE IN A WHILE, IT TAKES TIME TO ACCELERATE. ALSO MY PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT DOES NOT WORK IT'S STUCK TO THE POINT WHERE YOU CAN'T USE IT.
TAKATA RECALL. MY 2011 EQUINOX WAS PARKED AND TURNED OFF . I WENT TO GET MY 2 YEAR OLD OUT OF THE CAR AND THE CAR TOOK ITSELF OUT OF PARK. I WAS DRAGED BY THE DOOR AND RECEIVED MANY INJURIES. THE CAR WAS PARKED IN MY NEIGHBORS DRIVEWAY WHEN IT BEGAN ROLLING BACKWARDS WITH MY KIDS INSIDE.
