NHTSA Owner Complaint Log
This page lists owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA for the 2016 Chevrolet Equinox. Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA and do not by themselves prove a defect or defect rate.
It was storming on Thursday, May 5, 2022 and my front windshield wipers just stop working. I could not see anything. I had to let my glass down so that I would not have a head on collision with cars in the other lane going in the other direction. I made it to a safe location until it stopped raining. This incident scared me.
Windshield Wiper transmission failed, front wipers inoperable No visibility while driving when raining No warning lamps or indication other than failure of operation
Timing chain has gone bad . Fuel pressure regulator went bad Down pipe to the catalytic converter has gone bad
The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated while changing the engine oil, she noticed that the oil consumption was not normal. The contact stated that approximately two to three quarts of oil needed to be added every week. Additionally, the vehicle had stalled while driving up the driveway. The contact stated no warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, the engine was making a ticking sound while driving. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure and the contact was referred to a dealer to schedule a diagnostic test. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.
Car is burning more oil than it is suppose to on my vehicle. I have to add oil every other week.
This suv uses excessive oil. No oil leaks. Jerking motion and almost causing accidents due to this defect has this so unsafe. Drove to my mechanic. Tells me selonoids burned and need replaced. No oil on dip stick due to engine burning up so much oil and rings thin!! I drove for 300 miles with oil on the dipstick only to find out from the mechanic the rings are too thin on the pistons and no oil!!! Said I will never need to get an oil change because I willbe adding oil all the time..just change the filter! I’m paying $50 every 2 weeks for synthetic oil to add in this pos suv. I’ve contacted GM and no response. The mechanic said to fix the problem I need a new engine or keep adding oil!!! As an Consumer….this is NOT RIGHT!!! Can you help me??? I contacted your office when this started happening and didn’t hear back via phone or email….Or I missed your communication.
The wipers on our 2016 chevy equinox suddenly stopped working, early yesterday morning, while driving on the interstate, in the rain and in the dark. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS CONDITION!!! Contacting the dealer today. We have not had the car inspected by anyone! There have been no previous problems with the wipers. After a long search on the internet, I found a special coverage adjustment N192266180, dated December 2019. This is not recall. It states that the owners will be notified. AS OF 3/22/2022, I HAVE NOT BEEN NOTIFIED!!!!
The ambient light sensor is very sensitive. There can be full sunlight, but if I go in the shadow of a truck or a tree, the sensor dims the dashboard lighting. If I go under any sort of bridge, no matter how short, the dash goes dark. Sometimes it takes over 10 minutes for it to go back to normal. The ambient light sensor should be facing straight up at the sky. Also, the sensor should be connected to the vehicles GPS and the clock for the time of day. I rely on the info center on the dash for the GPS and other items. If I cannot see the info center, it can lead to a collision. I have brought my vehicle to the dealer and they refuse to do anything. Also, during the day, I use prescription sunglasses while driving, so it makes it really difficult. Thank you.
Wiper transmission not working. The motor is fine but the transmission keeps disconnecting
My vehicle is burning too much oil. I have to put a quart of oil in less than every thousand miles. This is a problem for me and my family, when it comes to safety. I took it to the dealer they say that's normal.
02/19/2022 WHILE DRIVING DOWN STEEP DIRT ROAD CLOSE TO WHERE WE LIVE THE BRAKE PEDDLE SUDDENLY WENT TO THE FLOOR. WE RAPIDLY DROVE DOWN THIS STEEP INCLINE WITHOUT ANY BREAKS THE CAR BOUNCED VILOLANTLY UNTILL WE GOT TO THE BOTTOM AT THAT POINT THE BRAKE PEDDLE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. DROVE STRIGHT HOME WITHOUT A REPEAT OF NO BRAKES. WILL CALL CHEVY DEALER ON 02-22-2022 TO COME AND GET IT AND CHECK IT OUT
The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, there was a knocking sound coming from the vehicle. The contact stated that an unknown warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed there was a gasket leak in the engine and the vehicle was leaking engine oil. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 73,000.
Entered vehicle and smelled exhaust inside. Checked tail pipe and it was clear and blowing out exhaust. Pulled out of driveway and got sudden smell of oil. About 200 feet down the street smelled burning oil. Turned around and went home, car was dying and would not start after. Had to be towed to be checked and was told engine was flooded along with other issues from driving that short distance the way it was. NOT ONE ALERT SHOWED OR IS NOW SHOWING ON DASH OR DISPLAY. Nothing about oil, no check engine, no warnings of any issues. Has been maintained and just had an oil change. Is driven daily and had no alerts or issues. Now we are stuck paying over $6k to replace the entire block when there was no notification that any maintenance was needed. Any notification that pops up, we check and fix immediately. In the shop still and techs say no lights or warnings are coming on still when they turn the car on. Not even check engine when it’s blown! We bought a newer vehicle to avoid these issues and now we are stuck dropping that much or more to replace engine block or buy a new suv all together. Seeing as the economy is horrible right now, we really can’t afford to do either!!
Car kept stalling out on my daughter then just quit running. We had it towed to an engine shop and they said the timing belt came apart and now it needs a new motor. She has not even had the car a year and has routinely maintenanced it. We still owe over $10k on the car and a new motor is over $10k. This should be a recall from the manufacture. Stalling on her could have caused her to be in a wreck!!!
The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated while driving 50 - 55 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and diagnosed with continuously variable transmission (CVT) failure, which caused the oil to leak out of the engine. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that they would assist with the cost of the repair. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated while driving 32 MPH, the contact was veering off the highway exit ramp and noticed in the rear-view mirror that there was black smoke coming from the rear of the vehicle. The contact got off the exit ramp and became aware that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact activated the hazard light and drove to the residence. Upon inspection, the contact became aware that the engine oil was extremely low. The contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the rear main seal had blown out and that the engine needed to be repaired or replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 86,000.
Problems with oil leaking on rear seal. No notice given until light came on that said stop engine now. Upon inspection all oil was gone. My mechanic said this is an unfortunate issue with this engine because the pressure release hole is so small that any dirt can block it and but a lot of pressure on the back seal until it bursts and leaks out oil. This could have blown my engine and it only has 67000 miles. Definitely a manufacturers defect.
Drove to work 1/26/22 and heard my engine knocking. During my 10 minute commute there were no warnings, messages or any active dashboard light(s), especially none regarding the engine or oil pressure . Once I parked, my engine seized and began leaking/smoking. The engine needs replaced due to excessive oil consumption and a faulty oil pressure warning.
The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while her daughter was driving 45 MPH, the vehicle started making abnormal sounds and then stalled. The warning message “Low Engine Pressure” was displayed. The contact’s daughter was able to veer to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the contact’s residence. The contact’s husband, a Ford mechanic diagnosed that the PCM valve had frozen, built-up pressure in the engine, and blew out the pressure which ruptured the rear main seal. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact’s husband that it was a known failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 116,000.
The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while driving in a rainstorm with the front windshield wipers activated, the wipers suddenly became inoperable. The contact stated that the failure only occurred while the wipers were operating in the high position. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The contact stated that on another occasion while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light suddenly illuminated, and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the engine had experienced excessive oil consumption. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 140,000.
The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated and the contact continued driving to the local dealer to be diagnosed. The vehicle was diagnosed and the contact was informed that there was no oil in the engine and that the PCV valve was damaged and that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 84,500. THE CONSUMER STATED THE PCV FAILS WHEN THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE REACHES 0 DEGREES. THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED A PERCENTAGE OF THE REPAIR COST.
windshield wipers broke . repaired and broke again
Our car was parked outside for the weekend and we were planning to return home. It was around 14°F outside and starting to snow. Approximately 10 minutes into the trip home, the 2016 Chevy Equinox started to make some faint abnormal sounds. Shortly after the instrument cluster displayed a Stabilitrak Warning. I presumed an issue with the traction control and continued to drive. Shortly after the Equinox went into a failsafe/power limiting mode. We (my wife and young daughters were with me) were within a few miles of a gas station so we decided to try to drive there to not be in the cold weather. Before reaching a gas station, the car stalled and needed to be towed to a service shop. The car was diagnosed with a blown rear main seal causing catastrophic engine failure. It was determined the PCV valve froze causing excess crankcase pressure, blowing the rear main seal. The Equinox had 89,277 miles on it at the time. "Tow" costs: $149.18 Engine Replacement Cost: $6504.30 At no point did any oil related (level, pressure) indicator appear.
Wiper motor stopped working in severe heavy rain storm. Had zero visibility at night. Had to drive 2 miles before I could safely park vehicle and not go in a ditch or hit another car. Next day went to Auto store got replacement $124 later its fixed by myself. Same issue as recall on 2014-2015 models 2016 needs to be included.
The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while driving and accelerating the check engine warning light would illuminate. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer and the contact was informed that no fault codes were retrieved; however, the computer was reset. The contact stated that shortly after retrieving the vehicle the failure recurred and was taken back to the dealer. The contact was informed that the failure was due to the sensors in the main computer. The vehicle was repaired out of pocket. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 49,000.
I was driving on the highway in the rain and my windshield wiper stopped in the middle of my windshield.
Wipers just stopped working in the middle of driving during a rainstorm. Visibility while driving was severely diminished in an unexpected manner.
Bought my equinox from CarMax last Feb. I am hearing a 'knock, knock, knock, knock' coming from the back. It been going on for a while now and no one seem to know why. The car also do a jerking when at stop
The air bag light keeps coming on intermittently as I’m driving saying service airbag but when you check the code nothing specific comes up. I’ve had mechanics look at the car and for them to guess it will cost me Thousands. And I noticed my truck is also hesitating to drive and almost feels like it’s going to shut down as I’m driving with a constant check engine light the light came on about a day after the service air bag light
The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while his wife was driving 65 MPH, the windshield wipers failed to operate during a rainstorm without warning. His wife pulled off to the shoulder of the road and waited for the storm to subside before she resumed driving. Once the contact's wife made it home, the contact inspected the vehicle and stated that an abnormal, clicking noise was coming from the windshield wiper motor. The dealer nor the manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.
2016 Chevy equinox Engine has to be rebuilt due to a faulty 2.4 GM motor with excessive oil consumption which led to timing chain breaking which caused other internal damage to engine! Known issue for this vehicle
Both windshield wipers stopped working at the same. Can still here motor wiper working when selected but no wiper movement at all.
The front windshield wipers quit working while I was driving home from work during rush hour on the freeway. It was during a very heavy rainstorm and left me with no visibility in heavy traffic. There was no warning signal or system notification. They just stopped working.
I filed an complaint about my Equinox stalling when it stops. I had the oil changed on 07/16/2021 not 07/23/2021(I went in on a separate matter on that date.) But I'm still worried about the car stalling so many times. Because it can be a danger with stalling out on the road and at stoplights.
I went to pick up my child from school and when we were leaving my check engine light came on and my car stalled out. I got it started and drove about 20 feet and it stalled again. Got it started again and drove another 20 feet, stalled again. I made it to the stoplight at the school and it stalled again. I had to stop for gas and as I was leaving from the gas pump it stalled in front of an oncoming car. I made it to the stop light and it stalled at the light. I managed to make it home. I just had an oil change on 07/23/2021. I'm regular with maintenance and at the dealership but the reason I file a complaint is because I'm finding out this is an issue Chevrolet has known about for awhile. And people are talking about how its an expensive fix that is short term before returning. Plus, it can't its not safe stalling on the road. I have around 66000 miles on it. I mainly drive locally. I hasn't been inspect yet. I called and I'm waiting to hear from the dealership as I type. I had to wait almost 2 weeks to get in for the oil change. The only thing I've notice was the check engine light before it stalls. I have had issue with air conditioning going in and out and it does accelerate that well but neither does my 2008 Equinox. Problem first appeared with the limp mode being initiated by the vehicles computer system. This occurred at 96,000 miles in July of 2021. After running numerous diagnostics with a OBD scanner, and removing VVT solenoids, came to the conclusion it was the problem. After replacing with new OEM Solenoids and restarting the computer from the battery. The problem seemed to be resolved. In March of 2021the vehicle started losing oil by the quart each week. January 2022 the computer link initiated the limp mode again at 100,000 miles. After trying to diagnose using OBD, the conclusion was not apparent. Followed up by taking the air box off and found oil in the vacuum line for the air box. Continue the investigation by removing the PCV valve and the VVT solenoids. Found large amounts of oil(more than Chevy engineers allowed). Then proceeded to reassemble and run compression tests. Found "blow by" to be so bad that the oil was blowing out of the valve cover and past the seal. Disassembled the intake manifold and found puddles of oil in the base of the intake manifold. The MAF system had large amounts of carbon build up. Cleaned intake components meticulously. Reassembled and problem went away only to reemerge with massive oil loss September of 2022. Took to the dealer and they kept vehicle an entire week to report they found no oil loss. We then decided to rebuild engine; seals, pistons, rings, bolts etc.. After removing engine (January 2023 113,000miles) completely and breaking it down to crankshaft, I came to the conclusion the Intake manifolds direct injection system has a major flaw (mainly due to a pinhole becoming clogged found in the middle of the intake valve system). Causing massive pressure issues that can lead to full engine failure. So much carbon build up on pistons with major ignition problems visible by piston damage. In February of 2024 (131,000miles). Problem has started to reoccur with much blow by continuing near valve seal. I have pics
My 2016 Chevrolet Equinox caught on fire about 10 minutes after my accident. I rear ended a pickup truck going about 5-10 miles an hour. Although nobody was hurt, I don't think SUVs should catch on fire. I'm unaware if this problem is frequent in 2016 Chevrolet Equinox, but there wasn't any warning of the sudden fire that appeared from the engine, i.e. sirens, sounds from within the car. I'm unaware if Chevrolet, law enforcement or the insurance company has inspected the vehicle after the accident?
While driving on the interstate through a heavy rain storm, with the windshield wipers on 'high', they suddenly stopped working. The view through the windshield was instantly obscured. I barely was able to pull into the left hand breakdown lane and out of the traffic lane, by rolling the driver side window down and looking out the side window. If I had been traveling in one of the middle lanes and had to navigate through traffic in the other lanes, I am not sure I would have been able to get out of the travel lanes without a crash. If I had been on I10 instead of I95, there would have been no breakdown lane to move to due to construction and lane closures. There was no warning prior to the failure. When I finally got home I found the plastic ball joint linkage had popped apart. The car has 66,240 miles on it.
The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH, the vehicle made an abnormal sound and then stalled. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the residence and then to an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not yet diagnosed nor repaired and remained at the independent mechanic. The contact stated that the vehicle had the timing chain replaced at 50,000 miles and was relating the failure to a faulty timing chain. The dealer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that there was no warranty coverage on the vehicle. Additionally, the VIN was not under recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 99,000. The VIN was unavailable.
Was driving on the highway and the wipers stopped working putting myself at risk of accident.
TRAVELING ON HWY 61 SOUTH DURING HEAVY RAIN WHEN WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING OUT OF THE BLUE. HAD TO BRAKE AND MOVE TO INSIDE LANE SHOULDER. WIPERS APPEARED TO HAVE OVER TRAVELED ALL THE WAY TO THE DRIVER SIDE EDGE OF WINDSHIELD. HAD TO TAKE IT IN TO LOCAL DEALERSHIP.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT ABOUT 65 MILES PER HOUR. IT WAS POURING DOWN RAIN AND THERE WERE SEMI TRUCKS IN FRONT OF ME AND TO THE LEFT OF ME SPRAYING WATER. THERE WAS ALSO A SEMI BEHIND ME. MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS LITERALLY STOPPED WORKING. AFTER A NANOSECOND OF PANIC, I TURNED MY FLASHERS ON AND PULLED OFF TO THE SIDE. I COULDN'T SEE ANYTHING. AFTER CONSIDERING FOR A FEW SECONDS, I DECIDED IT WAS NOT SAFE WHERE I WAS, SO I SLOWLY AND CAREFULLY DROVE SEVERAL MILES ON THE SHOULDER TO MAKE MY WAY TO THE NEXT EXIT. I THEN PULLED INTO A BUSINESS LOT. MY WIPERS WERE STOPPED ON MY WINDSHIELD.....THE LEFT ONE WAS PARTIALLY OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD. I PICKED IT UP AND PLACED IT BACK TOWARD THE CENTER OF WINDSHIELD. BACK INSIDE THE CAR, I TRIED TO TURN THE WIPERS ON AGAIN. I COULD HEAR MECHANICAL NOISE THAT SOUND LIKE THEY SHOULD WORK, BUT THEY DID NOT MOVE. THE CAR IS NOW AT A DEALER FOR SERVICE.
While on the freeway, I was caught in “stop-and-go” traffic. I had previously (about 2 days) noticed that there was a very minuscule delay in between the time from when I pressed on the accelerator to when the car would speed up, but was less than 1 second, so didn’t think it was a big deal. During the traffic incident, all of the sudden, when I pressed on the accelerator to go from a mostly stopped position to advance forward, my Equinox completely stalled. It was like someone turned the car off, but still had the lights and stereo on. I had to put my car in park, turn the car totally off, and restart it, and place it into drive, in order for it to advance forward. The next time I had to slow down for traffic, I slowed almost to a stop, put my foot on the accelerator, and the car stalled again. Keep in mind, my car wasn’t completely stopped at any of these times, so the cars behind me were caught off guard when I had to suddenly stop, put my car in park, turn it off, and then back on again, in order to move forward. This is dangerous during rush hour, on the most congested freeway in my state (which is where I live and was located). I was almost rear-ended multiple times. This occurred around 20 times before I could pull to the side. I called Chevrolet and they directed me the nearest dealership. The problem was continuous until I arrived. The issue was: Intake Camshaft Solenoid Control Circuit - Solenoid Internal Failure and they replaced Variable Valve Timing (VVT) Solenoid (part #12679099). My car had 46,661 miles, and under warranty, but it appears to be a common problem. There were ZERO warning/dash lights that warned me that something was wrong, and when the car died, I only knew because I would push the accelerator and it wouldn’t move. The dealership confirmed the issue, and I have the receipt from the replacement (covered under warranty), as well as a video of it occurring. There are MANY forums that discuss this issue with 2016 Equinox models.
YESTERDAY, I WAS TRAVELING ON I-95 AT 75MPH WHEN MY WIPERS SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING IN THE POURING DOWN RAIN. I COULDN'T SEE FIVE FEET IN FRONT OF ME AND WAS TERRIFIED. I PULLED OVER AT THE NEAREST EXIT, TRIED TURNING THE CAR OFF AND ON AND ALSO TRIED STARTING THE WIPERS BY HAND BUT TO NO AVAIL. I HAD NO CHOICE BUT CONTINUE MY TRIP WITH LITTLE VISIBILITY AS SEMI-TRUCKS PASSED ME SPLASHING EVEN MORE WATER ON MY WINDSHIELD. I READ THAT THIS WAS A RECALL ON 2013 MODELS, BUT APPARENTLY, IT IS ON OTHER MODELS AS WELL.
DRIVING IN THE RAIN HOME FROM NEAR BY TOWN AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS WERE ON THEY MADE A STRANGE NOISE AND SUDDENLY STOP WORKING. HAD TO PULL OVER COULD NOT SEE. VERY SCARY. THANK GOODNESS I WAS NOT ON HIGHWAY LIKE THE DAY BEFORE. IT COULD OF CAUSED A ACCIDENT
WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY DURING A STORM MY WIPERS STOPPED WORKING, THEY STOPPED RIGHT IN THE CENTER OF MY WINDSHIELD, MY HEART STOPPED AS I HAD MY KIDS WITH ME. I HAD TO PULL OVER!!!! CALL FOR HELP. THIS VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE RECALLED
THE WIPERS WERE WORKING PERFECTLY FINE. WE WERE TRAVELING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MILES AN HOUR AND DURING A POURING RAIN STORM AND THEY IMMEDIATELY STOPPED WORKING. THEY ACTUALLY VIOLENTLY JERKED OUT OF POSITION TO WHERE ONE WIPER WAS ACTUALLY HANGING OFF THE WINDSHIELD BY ABOUT A FOOT. THEY ARE NOT OPERATING NOW
In February of 2021, I was traveling with my son (and was 8 months pregnant) on a highway going roughly 60-65 mph. All of a sudden, a terrible storm hit the area and I turned my wipers on. Within moments I heard a noise and both wipers were no longer working. I had no visibility and almost wrecked. I was extremely traumatized by the situation. I was able to pull off the road and waited until the storm passed (2 hours). I found a small shop that confirmed the wiper mechanism needed to be replaced because of the “ball joints”. They didn’t have the part, so I had to continue the 3 hour drive stopping when it started to rain. A 3 hour drive took us 6 hours. I was able to have the issue repaired for nearly $215.00. Fast forward to today (4/22/23) and again, the wiper mechanism has given out. Again, we were on the Highway and during a storm, the mechanism gave out and we lost operation in the wiper on the driver side. I was traveling with my two children, and again almost ran off the road and had no visibility. After doing research it looks like there is a “special coverage” for this issue and I think it’s a poor decision for this part to not be recalled and handled appropriately by GM. I have called GM and scheduled an appointment to have my wiper mechanism inspected/fixed and was told I would need to cover the cost. That is unacceptable. This is extremely dangerous and has caused me not only hundreds of dollars now, but the security of even getting in my vehicle to drive when it’s raining or a storm is approaching. Please do the right thing and require a recall. Invoice from the first fix in 2021 is attached. I am happy to provide the invoice for the next fix after it occurs next week.
THERE HAVE BEEN RECALLS WITH CHEVROLET EQUINOX'S WIPER COMPONENTS IN RECENT YEARS DUE TO THE WIPER BALL JOINT BUSHINGS CORRODING. AS I WAS DRIVING WITH MY YOUNG SON IN THE MIDDLE OF A TERRIBLE STORM, MY WIPERS STOPPED WORKING PUTTING US IN DANGER ON A HIGHWAY WITH CARS TRAVELING AROUND US IN SPEEDS IN EXCESS OF 70 MPH. I TOOK MY EQUINOX TO THE LOCAL SHOP AND WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE ~$500 TO FIX BECAUSE CHEVY DOESN'T ALLOW FOR THE BUSHINGS TO BE PURCHASED. YOU HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE LINKAGE. THERE ARE SO MANY COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THIS AND IT IS UNFAIR FOR MY CAR TO NOT BE APART OF THIS RECALL WHEN IT IS THE SAME EXACT ISSUE THAT OTHERS WERE EXPERIENCING IN THE RECALL. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND CHEVY NEEDS TO STEP UP AND FIX THIS FOR ALL CARS IN THE 2010-2016 RANGE, NOT JUST SOME. PLEASE HELP!!!!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON INSPECTION AN OIL LEAK WAS DISCOVERED UNDER THE VEHICLE.
