TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET HHR. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR BAG NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A BURN ON THE LEFT ARM AND A NECK INJURY THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR LIGHT WENT ON FOR THE TRACTION WARNING . ITS A YELLOW TRIANGLE WITH CAR IN THE MIDDLE STARTED FLASHING , CAR MAKING A NOISE WHILE DRIVING AND WHEN I WAS TRYING TO STOP IT WAS MAKING A CRAKING NOISE AND COULDN'T STOP EASILY. IT WAS AS THOUGH I WAS DRIVING ON ICE AND SLIDING OR SOMETHING AND HAD NO TRACTION. IT WAS SCARY. THRN IT STOPPED AND I PROCEEDED HOME THEN IT FID IT AGAIN THEN IT STOPPED THEN GOT HOME AND HAD TO FET MY SON AT WORK SO ITS MY ONLY CAR. I TOOK A CHANCE AND WENT IN CAR AND IT DROVE FINE. TAKING TO ORILEYS TO CHECK COMPUTER TODAY. I DON'T HAVE ANY MONEY TO TK IT TO DEALER AND CHANCES ARE THEY WON'T KNOW WHAT IS WRONG CAUSE IT'S WORKING FINE NOW AND I'M SO SCARED CAUSE I DON'T KNOW WHEN ITS GONNA HAPPEN AGAIN. I ALSO HAVE READ WHERE MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE AND NO ONE REALLY KNOWS WHAT'S WRONG. I DONT WHAT TO DO.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET HHR. UPON ATTEMPTING TO EXIT THE VEHICLE, THE DOOR HANDLE FRACTURED ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE DOOR HANDLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.
LEFT TURN SIGNAL ACTIVATED WITHOUT TOUCHING THE TURN SIGNAL TO USE IT, THE THE HAZARD LIGHTS TURNED ON AND OF TWICE WITHOUT EVER TOUCHING THE BUTTON TO ACTIVATE THOSE. RECENTLY THE BATTER JUST DIED AND NEW REPLACED. BUT THE KEY ALSO WAS STUCK IN IGNITION TIL WAS TOWED TO DEALERSHIP WHERE IGNITION RECALLS WERE REPAIRED. NOW THIS.

THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR DOOR LATCHES WERE DAMAGED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. DRIVERS INSIDE DOOR HANDLE SNAPPED OFF. HAVE TO OPEN WINDOW TO OPEN DOOR. CALLED GM THEY TOLD ME THIS PROBLEM WASN'T ON A RECALL. THIS WAS ALSO NOT COVERED UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY. I HAVE TO PURCHASE A HANDLE AND HAVE IT INSTALLED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE TO GET OUT OF THE CAR DURING AN EMERGENCY, WHAT IF MY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHUTS DOWN, HOW CAN I ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW, I'LL HAVE TO CLIMB OVER THE PASSENGER SEAT TO GET OUT AND THAT COULD BE TO LATE. THEY NEED A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM.

AFTER TURNING THE ENGINE OFF AND RESTARTING THE VEHICLE, IT RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,497.
DRIVING ALONG, 'LOW ENGINE POWER' LIGHT CAME ON (ALONG WITH OTHER ERRORS, SOMETHING ABOUT TRACTION, SOMETHING ESC, ENGINE CHUGGING; CAR SLOWS DOWN TO ABOUT 10 MPH AND WON'T ACCELERATE; AFTER TURNING CAR OFF, WAITING A FEW MINUTES, CAR STARTED AGAIN (BUT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYED ON); THIS HAS ACTUALLY HAPPENED TO ME 3 TIMES IN THE PAST 3 WEEKS (I DON'T RECALL THE EXACT DATES) - I THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE FROM THE EXTREME COLD (CLOSE TO 0 OR BELOW) - BUT TODAY IT IS 31 DEGREES AND HAPPENED AGAIN. I'M GLAD I WASN'T ON THE EXPRESSWAY! FORTUNATELY IT HAPPENED AT MODERATE SPEED AND I WAS IN A PLACE I COULD SAFELY PULL OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD.IT APPEARS THAT THIS IS HAPPENING WITH NUMEROUS VEHICLES FROM AROUND THAT YEAR. *TR
POWER STEERING FAILED TO OPERATE WHILE PARKING. THIS HAPPENED WHILE TEACHING MY WIFE HOW TO DRIVE. SHE WAS PRACTICING 3 POINT PARKING. UPON TURNING THE WHEEL TO THE RIGHT PRIOR TO BACKING UP IT FELT LIKE THE STEERING OF A 53 CHEVROLET, THEN AFTER BACKING INTO THE DRIVE WAY IT WOULD NOT COME BACK STRAIGHT. BEING A RETIRED MECHANIC I WAS VERY SURPRISED THAT A CAR WITH ONLY 17000 MILES WOULD HAVE SUCH A PROBLEM. BUT AFTER INVESTIGATING THE INTERNET, I FOUND THAT MANY OTHERS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. SEEMS TO WORK OK THOUGH WITH NORMAL DRIVING, BUT WHAT WILL HAPPEN IN THE EVENT OF THE NECESSITY TO TURN SHARPLY ALL OF A SUDDEN, I HAVE NO IDEA AND I DON'T CARE TO FIND OUT.
I WAS DRIVING A FREEWAY SPEEDS WHEN THE ENGINE SUDDENLY WENT INTO LIMP HOME MODE. I RECEIVED THE FOLLOWING DASH INDICATIONS - SERVICE ESC, TRACTION OFF, REDUCED ENGINE POWER. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION WE FOUND A FAILED ACCELERATOR POSITION SENSOR AND WE HAD THE FOLLOWING TROUBLE CODES STORED IN THE COMPUTER: P2135 CHEVROLET - THROTTLE/PEDAL POSITION SENSOR/SWITCH 'A'/'B' VOLTAGE CORRELATION REPLACED THE ACCELERATOR POSITION SENSOR AND GAS PEDAL ASSEMBLY, AT THIS POINT THE CAR SEEMS FINE. I HAVE THE FAILED PART. *TR

I WAS DRIVING 55MPH WHEN MY REDUCED POWER LIGHT CAME ON AND MY CAR WOULDN'T GO OVER 40 MPH WITH MY GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. THE NEXT DAY PULLED THE BATTERY CABLE AND LET IT RESET. DROVE FINE FOR 3 MILES AND THEN DID THE SAME THING. REDUCED POWER CAME ON AND WOULDN'T GO OVER 40MPH. WAS TRAVELING AT NIGHT ON INTERSTATE 70 BETWEEN KANSAS CITY AND ST LOUIS WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAN ON ALONG WITH THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT AT THE SAME TIME THE ON DASH MESSAGE CENTER SAID ENGINE POWER REDUCED, TRACTION CONTROL OFF, AND ESC OFF. AT THE SAME TIME THE CAR LOST SPEED AND BEFORE I COULD GET OFF THE ROAD I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED BY A TRUCK, AT THE TIME IT WAS RAINING. SINCE THEN IT HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES WITH NO WARNING. AFTER STOPPING THE CAR WITH THE ENGINE OFF FOR A VERY SHORT TIME IT WILL START AND RUN FINE WITH THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT OFF. BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINING ON. THE CODE FOR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS P2135 WHICH IS A CODE FOR THE THROTTLE PEDAL POSITION SENSOR, THIS HAS BEEN REPLACED AND THE PROBLEM REMAINS TO HAPPENING. I THINK THIS COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS AND COULD CAUSE ACCIDENTS RESULTING IN INJURIES. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO A NUMBER OF MECHANICS AND THE PROBLEM CONTINUES. I SPOKE WITH GM THIS WEEK AND THEY SAID THAT THEY HAD NEVER HEARD OF THE PROBLEM, I THINK THEY SHOULD LOOK ONLINE YOU FILL FIND MANY POSTING COMPLAINING OF THIS PROBLEM COVERING MANY MODEL YEARS OTHER THAN 2011. *TR

THE POWER LOCKS MALFUNCTIONED AND HAD TO BE UNLOCKED MANUALLY. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES, BUT COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES. WHILE DRIVING ON DRY EVEN PAVEMENT THE ESC LIGHT/SYSTEM KICKED IN ON MY 2011 HHR CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE THROTTLE AND BRAKES. LUCKILY, NO OTHER CARS OR PEDESTRIANS WERE NEAR ME OR THERE COULD HAVE BEEN AN ACCIDENT. THE CAR WAS UNDRIVEABLE UNTIL THE IGNITION THIS TURNED COMPLETELY OFF AND ON AGAIN. I HAD IT CHECKED AND NO ERROR CODES WERE STORED ON THE ECM/BCM. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM!! THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IT HAPPENED TO ME AND I MAY NOT BE SO LUCKY THE NEXT TIME! *TR

I WAS PARKED IN DRIVEWAY WHEN I WENT TO OPEN MY DRIVERS SIDE DOOR THE SILVER HANDLE BROKE RIGHT IN HALF CUT MY HAND BUT I JUST CLEANED AND BANDAGED MY HAND. I COULDN'T AFFORD TO FIX IT SO I LOOKED UP THE PART . ITS A $50 BUT THEY WANT $250 AT THE DEALER. I FINALLY GOT SOME MONEY TOGETHER AND BECAUSE IT WAS WINDER AND ONE TOME THE WINDOW WAS FROZEN AND THE DOOR DIDN'T CLOSE GOOD WHEN I GOT IN SO I HAD TO STOP AND CLIMB OUT OF TBE CAR FROM THE PASSENGERS SIDE WITH A BAD BACK TOO. IM DISABLED. IT COULD HAVE BERN A DANGEROUS SITUATION BUT ANYWAY I HAS TO GATHER THE MONEY AND FIX IT BECAUSE I KNEW I COULDN'T CONTINUE TO CLIMB OUT THE PASSANGER SIDE AND WITH THE HANDLE BROKE AND THE COLD WEATHER CAUSING THE WINDOW TO BE FROZEN I HAD NO CHOICE. EVERYONE IS RIGHT GMC SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE AND WE SHOULD BE REFUNDED OUR MONEY AND AND ISSUES WE WENT THRU. ITS NOT A CHEEP CAR AND THIS PART IS LIKE MADE OF PLASTIC AND ITS $50 AND THE DEALER IS OVR CHARGING. ITS ALL WRONG. IM TIRED OF CHEVY. I DON'T KNOW WHY I BOUGHT THIS CAR.

" I DO NOT FEEL THAT I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE THIS DEFECT TO RESEARCHED AND FIXED DUE TO DANGER THAT THIS POSES TO THE SAFETY OF MYSELF AND MY CHILDREN. I HIT A LIGHT POLE. THE IMPACT OF THE CRASH SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED THE AIRBAGS, BUT DID NOT. SEAT BELTS EXPLODED. THE COP SAID I SHOULDN'T BE WALKING AND TO GET THIS CHECKED OUT. SINCE THEN, I HAVE HAD TWO RECALL REPAIRS AND NOW NEED ANOTHER REPAIR. ON VETERANS DAY, 2014, I WAS GIVEN A CAR FROM THE VFW AND PROGRESSIVE AS A PART OF THEIR "KEYS TO PROGRESS PROGRAM. SINCE THEN, THE HHR HAS BEEN DRIVEN MAYBE 3 TIMES. NO ONE WANTS TO DRIVE IT, I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO, BECAUSE ITS JUST SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY. MY KIDS WON'T DRIVE IT EITHER. UPON TURNING OFF AND RESTARTING THE VEHICLE, THE COMPUTER RESET AND THE WARNING LIGHTS DIMMED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND PROVIDED NO REMEDY. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
