2005 IMPALA 3.4L 55K MILES AT 41K MY SPEEDOMETER, AND TEMP GAUGES NO LONGER WORK ... IT IS DUE TO BAD STEPPER MOTORS. AND GM WANTS OVER 400 DOLLARS TO FIX A PROBLEM THEY KNOW IS WAYYYYYYYYYY TOO COMMON AND I AS WELL AS MANY PEOPLE CANT AFFORD TO FIX THEIR PROBLEM. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE NOT KNOWING IF YOUR CAR IS OVERHEATING COULD RESULT IN FIRE AND DEATH AND SPEEDOMETER NOT WORKING COULD ALSO LEAD TO BAD THINGS! *TR
I WAS DRIVING ALONG SIDE THE POLICE WHEN I LOOKED DOWN TO MAKE SURE I WAS NOT SPEEDING WHEN I NOTICED THE SPEEDOMETER WAS ON 90MPH. I KNEW THAT HAD TO BE INCORRECT BUT I SLOWED DOWN ANYWAY JUST BECAUSE I WAS UNSURE. WHEN I STOPPED AT THE RED LIGHT THE SPEEDOMETER WAS ON 90MPH STILL AND I WAS SITTING STILL. *TR
THE GAUGE CLUSTER WENT ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO. THE TEMPS WAS READING HOT WHEN IT WAS NOT AND THE SPEED WOULD SAY 100MPH WHEN I WOULD BE GOING 50MPH. I SPENT OVER $100 TO SEE IF THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE RADIATOR TURNS OUT THERE WAS NOT. I GOT IT REPLACED AND WITHIN A YEAR IT WAS MESSED UP AGAIN. I HAVE READ HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM! *TR
SPEEDOMETER FUNCTIONS INTERMITTENTLY, SHOWS FALSE SPEED, DOESN'T ZERO OR STICKS. *TR
NO CRASHES NO INCIDENTS, JUST DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE SPEEDOMETER AND TEMP GAUGE WENT HAYWIRE. SPEEDOMETER WOULD NOT READ OR REGISTER. UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM, THAT CHEVROLET ACKNOWLEDGES. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY THE GOV.'T. *TR
TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM FAILED REPEATEDLY DURING WARRANTY BY NOT SHOWING ONE OR TWO OF THE TIRES PRESSURE. WAS NEVER REPAIRED AT THE GM SERVICE, ONLY RESET. THE DEFECT REAPPEARED IN 3 DAYS TO 6 MONTHS AFTER THE RESET. INITIALLY WOULD APPEAR WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. NOW AT OVER 100,000KM IT FAILED FOR ALL 4 WHEELS. I DID NOT ATTEMPT TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS YET. THE ABSENCE OF TIRE PRESSURE INFORMATION MAY CAUSE ACCIDENTS DUE TO LACK OF INFORMATION ABOUT LOSS OF PRESSURE IN TIRES. *TR
THE SPEEDOMETER GETS STUCK YOU WILL BE ON THE HIGHWAY DOING 65 AND WHEN YOU GET OFF TO STOP IT WILL SAY THAT YOU ARE GOING 65 WHILE YOU ARE SITTING STILL OR IT WILL NOT MOVE AT ALL IT WILL SAY 0 WHILE DRIVING THIS IS A INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ISSUE AND WILL BE AROUND $500.00 TO FIX BUT I DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY FOR THIS BEFORE THIS STARTED THE GAS GAGE AND TEMP GAGE STARTED TO MESS UP AND BOUNCE AROUND. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER CLUSTER FAILED. THE DIAL GOES STRAIGHT DOWN AND DOES NOT REGISTER CORRECTLY. THE FAILURE HAS OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY FOR ONE YEAR. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN INSPECTED BY A DEALER OR MECHANIC. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
I PURCHASED A 2005 CHEVY IMPALA IN 2008. THE FIRST TIME I WAS DRIVING ON A STATE HWY, A VERY TWISTY ROAD . I HAD MY HEADLIGHTS ON HIGH, RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FIRST CURVE MY HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT, I JUMPED THE BRAKE AND FLIPPED THE LEVER BACK AND FORTH AND THEY FINALLY CAME BACK ON LOW BEAM, I ALMOST WREAKED. THE SECOND TIME I WAS ON THE FREEWAY JUST COMING INTO THE OUTSKIRTS OF TOWN, HEAVY TRAFFIC, I FLIPPED THE LEVER BACK AND FORTH AND THE LOW BEAMS CAME BACK ON. I SPOKE WITH A DEALER WHO SAID THEY HAD NO COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER OWNERS AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO RECALL. IT HAS HAPPENED TOO MANY TIMES AND CAN'T BE PINNED TO ANY PARTICULAR TIMES, NOW I DRIVE WITH MY LIGHTS ON LOW ALL THE TIME. I WENT ONLINE AND FOUND HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. SOME HAD TO REPLACE THEIR WHOLE STEERING COLUMN TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. I CAN'T AFFORD TO DO THIS, BUT THE CAR ISN'T SAFE. IT KEEPS DOING IT AND ONE OF THESE TIMES I WILL FORGET AND IT WILL CATCH ME UNAWARE AND I WILL WRECK. *TR
I HAVE INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS WITH THE SPEEDOMETER MALFUNCTIONING. I CANNOT PREDICT WHEN THE MALFUNCTION WILL OCCUR. THE SPEEDOMETER WILL READ 20 MPH WHEN I AM DRIVING WITH THE FLOW OF HIGHWAY TRAFFIC. SOMETIMES TURNING OFF THE ENGINE AND RESTARTING IT WILL SOLVE THE PROBLEM, BUT NOT ALWAYS. I SEE MANY PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH THE SAME GM MODEL BUT NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUES. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT A DRIVER KNOW HOW FAST HE IS DRIVING. *TR
THE CAR IS 3 YEARS OLD AND THE SPEEDOMETER BEGAN TO MALFUNCTION IT WOULD NOT ACCURATELY REGISTER SPEED AFTER JUST TURNING CAR ON WHILE STILL IN PARK SPEEDOMETER READ 80MPH THEN AFTER 1 WEEK OF DOING SO STOPPED WORKING ALL TOGETHER. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE CONTACT GLANCED AT THE HEAT GAUGE, WHICH READ 260 DEGREES. SHE PULLED OVER, SHUT OFF, AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE; HOWEVER, THE HEAT GAUGE STILL INDICATED 260 DEGREES. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL MECHANIC FOR REPAIR AND THEY OFFERED TO REPAIR THE CLUSTER. THE CONTACT DID NOT HAVE THE REPAIRS DONE BECAUSE SHE DID NOT KNOW THE MECHANIC THAT WELL. THE MECHANIC INFORMED HER THAT THE COOLING SYSTEM WAS WORKING PROPERLY. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE HOME AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITH HER MECHANIC. HER MECHANIC STATED THAT EVERYTHING WAS FINE WITH THE VEHICLE AND NO REPAIRS WERE MADE. CURRENTLY, THE SPEEDOMETER IN THE VEHICLE HAS FAILED AND THE CONTACT IS NOT SURE IF HER FUEL GAUGE IS WORKING PROPERLY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,250 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 42,500.
SPEEDOMETER GAUGE NOT SHOWING PROPER SPEED SHOWS DOING 100 WHEN PARKED, TOOK CAR TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT. SPEEDOMETER COMPLETELY QUIT WORKING AND NOW THE FUEL GAUGE IS NOT WORKING. SPEEDOMETER QUIT WORKING 2 YEARS AGO. CRUISE CONTROL HAS WENT OUT SEVERAL TIMES AND NO LONGER WORKS TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING AROUND 80,000 MILES. TRACTION CONTROL AND ABS LIGHT IS CONSTANTLY ON AND STATING THAT IT NEEDS TO BE SERVICE WHEN TRACTION CONTROL WAS NEVER ENGAGED. *TR
FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR LEAKING. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING BECAME LOOSE AND THE CONTACT COULD HEAR A NOISE WITHIN THE STEERING COLUMN. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE BEGAN INTERMITTENTLY BUT PROGRESSED AND WAS NOT AN EVERYDAY OCCURRENCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 29,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 40,000. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL SERVICE SHOP AND DISCOVERED THAT THE BRAKE ROTORS WERE MADE WITH DEFECTIVE MATERIAL, WHICH CAUSED THEM TO FAIL PREMATURELY. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO PAY A STANDARD CHARGE OF $65 JUST TO HAVE THE VEHICLE INSPECTED FOR POTENTIAL DEFECTS. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT ABLE TO ASSIST. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 60,000. UPDATED 07/08/08. *BF THE VEHICLE HAS SINCE BEEN REPAIRED. UPDATED
CAR FAILS TO START ABOUT ONCE A MONTH FOR THE PAST FOUR MONTHS--ALWAYS FIRST THING IN THE MORNING. RADIO PLAYS AND DASHBOARD LIGHTS WORK, BUT ENGINE FAILS TO TURN OVER. OFTEN SECURITY WARNING DISPLAYS IN INSTRUMENT PANEL. AFTER TURNING THE KEY MANY TIMES FOR 10 MINUTES OR SO, THE CAR STARTS UP WITH NO PROBLEM. ONCE, WHILE PULLING INTO THE GARAGE, THE SECURITY LIGHT FLASHED AND THE CAR STALLED. CHEVY DEALER COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM. *TR
2005 CHEVY IMPALA LOST CONTROL ON THE WET ROADWAY. CONSUMER WENT OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ROADWAY AND STRUCK THE MEDIAN WALL, ROTATED AND STRUCK THE MEDIAN WALL AGAIN. *NJ ACCORDING TO THE POLICE REPORT, THE TIRES WERE WORN WITH EXCESSIVE WEAR TO THE EDGES. WHILE DRIVING, THE HEADLIGHTS WILL GO OUT FOR NO REASON. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. IF I PULL THE LIGHT SWITCH ON AND OFF IT WILL USUALLY WORK. FLICKING THE HIGH BEAMS ON AND OFF MAY WORK TOO. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY FEATURE AND I HAVE FOUND THAT THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ON THIS SAME ISSUE CANNOT FIND THAT THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL WHEN THERE SHOULD BE. *TR
FOR OVER A YEAR THE SPEEDOMETER HAS NOT BEEN ACCURATE. SPEED MAY REGISTER OVER 100 MPH WHILE JUST BARELY MOVING. AT THE PRESENT TIME IT DOES NOT REGISTER AT ALL. *TR
SPEEDOMETER SHOWS 80 TO 90 MPH EVEN WHEN YOU ARE GOING 30 OR 40 MPH. I WAS COMPLETELY STOPPED AND THE SPEEDOMETER SHOWED 40 MPH. THE CAR DEALER SAID THAT IT WILL COST $300 + JUST FOR THE PART. *TR
SPEEDOMETER GAUGE DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. WHEN YOU DRIVE IT NEVER DISPLAYS THE CORRECT SPEED YOU ARE GOING AND CAN READ MANY DIFFERENT SPEEDS AS YOU DRIVE. IT CAN ALSO REMAIN AT 0. THIS IS HAPPENING ON MANY CHEVROLET MODELS AND CAN CAUSE YOU TO GET MULTIPLE TICKETS FOR NOT GOING THE CORRECT SPEED LIMIT. THIS SHOULD NOT BE LEFT TO THE CONSUMER TO REPAIR FOR $700 AS THIS A GM/CHEVROLET PROBLEM. LOOK ON SEVERAL WEBSITES AND PUT IN A CHEVY MODEL AND YOU WILL SEE THAT THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. *TR
ONGOING PROBLEM I HEAR FROM CHEVY BOUT THIS, THE SPEEDOMETER CLUSTERS CONTINUALLY FAIL, SPEEDOMETER INTERMITTENTLY WORKS, OR DOESN'T WORK T ALL, SPEED SENSOR IS FUNCTIONING PROPERLY, JUST SPEEDOMETER READS ANYWHERE FROM 0 TO 100, HANGS UP ANYWHERE IN BETWEEN, WHEN STOPPED CAN SHOW ANY SPEED , OR WHEN MOVING MAY SHOW 0 AND NOT WORK AT ALL, ALSO TEMP GAUGE DOES NOT REGISTER ENGINE TEMP ANYMORE , SO YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHEN ENGINE IS OVERHEATING ,BOTH PROBLEMS CAN CAUSE DANGEROUS SITUATIONS FROM INACCURATE SPEEDS TO OVERHEATING ENGINE WHICH COULD CAUSE A FIRE, I HAVE BEEN TOLD FROM GM EMPLOYEES THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF THESE PROBLEMS AND WILL NOT DO ANYTHING TO CORRECT THEIR DEFECT, ONLINE YOU WILL FIND MANY MANY CLUSTERS FOR SALE TO REPLACE BAD ONES , BUT THEY ARE OUT OF OTHER CRASHED IMPALAS,AND THE DEALER WILL CHARGE WAY TO MUCH TO CORRECT THEIR DEFECT. LOOKS LIKE WHEN THIS CAUSES A DEATH THEN IT WILL GET SOMEONE'S ATTENTION, SPEED KILLS ESPECIALLY DEPENDING ON WEATHER AND ROAD CONDITIONS, GAUGES ARE EQUIPMENT TO HELP US JUDGE WHAT WE DO SAFELY, WHEN THEY DON'T WORK THEN WE PUT EVERYONE IN HARMS WAY. *TR

MOST RECENT INCIDENT WAS APRIL 27, 2008. SPEEDOMETER REPEATEDLY STICKS ON 2005 CHEVY IMPALA. CAR HAS APPROX 80,000 MILES. INACCURACY IN SPEEDOMETER READING HAS SO FAR NOT RESULTED IN TRAFFIC TICKETS- ONLY WARNINGS. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS MALFUNCTION ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON MALFUNCTION IN 2003-2005 GM CARS. WHAT WILL IT TAKE FOR A RECALL TO HAPPEN - DEATHS??? *TR
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE SPEEDOMETER BEGAN READING FASTER THAN ACTUAL SPEED. SPEEDOMETER EVENTUALLY STUCK ON 120 MPH EVEN, WHEN VEHICLE STOPPED. DID CORRECT ITSELF AFTER A WEEK BUT ONLY FOR A FEW WEEKS. NOW DOESN'T REGISTER SPEED AT ALL, JUST STUCK AT 120 MPH. *TR
SPEEDOMETER IS NOT WORKING. WITH ALL THE COMPLAINTS ABOUT INSTRUMENT PANELS IN GM VEHICLES, YOU WOULD THINK IT IS TIME FOR A RECALL. I BELIEVE THEY RECALLED SUV'S, SO WHY NOT RECALL CARS. FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND, MY SPEEDOMETER IS JUST THE BEGINNING OF MY INSTRUMENT PROBLEMS ON THE IMPALA THAT I PURCHASED. THIS COULD BE A DANGEROUS PROBLEM IF A TEMP GAUGE IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. *TR
2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA. FAILING SPEEDOMETER. THIS FAILURE HAS BEEN INTERMITTENT FOR OVER 1 YEAR. THE FIRST TIME I EXPERIENCED IT I WAS DRIVING ON A 4 LANE DIVIDED HIGHWAY AND DUE TO THE SLOW FAILURE OF THE SPEEDOMETER I WAS PASSING EVERYONE THINKING THEY WERE DRIVING SLOW. WHEN THE SPEEDOMETER DROPPED TO ZERO I REALIZED THAT THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY CAR NOT THE OTHER DRIVERS. THE PROBLEM DISAPPEARED AFTER I GOT HOME AND SHUT THE CAR OFF. IT HAS SINCE THEN INTERMITTENTLY REAPPEARED. I HAVE NOT TAKEN CORRECTIVE ACTION ON THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND I CANNOT AFFORD THE ESTIMATED REPAIR COST. RESEARCH INTO A LESS EXPENSIVE REPAIR SOLUTION HAS SHOW ME THAT THIS IS A COMMON FAILURE WITH GM VEHICLES USING A PARTICULAR STEPPER MOTOR IN THEIR INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. ONE ONLINE SOURCE STATES THIS PART NUMBER AS X C5 168 . SEEMS TO ME THAT IT WILL ONLY BE A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE SOMEONE WITHOUT THE KNOWLEDGE, MONEY OR RESOURCES TO RECOGNIZE THIS PROBLEM AND CORRECT IT HAS A SERIOUS INJURY OR CAUSES A DEATH DUE TO EXCESSIVE SPEED. OLDER DRIVERS AND YOUNGER DRIVERS COME TO MIND AS THE MOST SUSCEPTIBLE. *TR
TL*- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE HAS EXPERIENCED SEVERAL FAILURES OVER THE LAST YEAR. WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH HE NOTICED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER WAS FAILING TO DISPLAYING THAT HE WAS GOING AT A HIGHER SPEED, WHEN THE CONTACT STOPPED AT AN INTERSECTION HE THEN NOTICED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER WAS STILL DISPLAYING A HIGHER SPEED AND HAD NOT GONE BACK DOWN TO THE CORRECT SPEED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE COULD BE COMING FROM A LOOSE WIRE OR COMPUTER FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED AND NO REPAIRS WHERE MADE. WHILE STARTING THE VEHICLE HE NOTICED THAT THE TEMPERATURE AND GAS GAUGE WHERE DISPLAYING INACCURATE TEMPERATURES AND LEVELS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND INSPECTED BY A TECHNICIAN WHO DETERMINED THAT GAUGES WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF 400.00, NO REPAIRS WHERE MADE. THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WOULD NOT BE A GUARANTEE THAT REPLACING THE GAUGES WOULD REMEDY THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT IS IN THE PROCESS OF CONTACTING THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 58,000.
SPEEDOMETER IN 2005 CHEVY IMPALA STICKS. YOU ARE GOING 35MPH AND THE SPEEDOMETER WILL READ 85 TO 90 MPH. CALLED GM CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY TOLD ME I HAD TO GET A $80 DIAGNOSTICS CHECK ON THE CAR FROM A DEALER, BEFORE THEY WILL TELL ME IF THEY CAN GIVE ME A DISCOUNT TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THE MECHANIC GAVE ME A VERBAL ESTIMATE OF $500 TO REPLACE THE CLUSTER. I CAN NOT AFFORD TO PAY THIS. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM. THESE CLUSTERS IN CHEVY IMPALAS SHOULD BE RECALLED. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 CHEVY IMPALA, CURRENTLY WITH 22,320 MILES. AT MY OIL CHANGE AND TIRE ROTATION, (~20,500) I WAS INFORMED BY REPAIR PLACE THAT THEY WOULD NOT PERFORM THE TIRE ROTATION AS I WOULD BE NEEDING TO REPLACE THE TIRES SOON. I ASKED WHY THEY WERE WEARING SO FAST- I WAS TOLD, THEY NOTICED IT ON MANY IMPALAS- PREMATURE TIRE WEAR BETWEEN 18,000-25,000 MILES. ~ 15 MONTHS AGO, WITH ONLY ABOUT 13,000 MILES, WHEN I HAD AN OIL CHANGE DONE I WAS INFORMED ME THE ENGINE WAS LEAKING OIL FROM THE REAR OF THE ENGINE, I SHOULD TAKE IT TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR. THE DEALER HAD TO REPLACE (UNDER WARRANTY) SEVERAL SEALS/GASKETS- OIL PAN, DRAIN PLUG, OIL FILTER, PLUS REPLACE THE DRAIN PLUG. THE CAR IS SOMETIMES HARD TO START AND HAVE TO HOLD THE KEY IN THE START POSITION, AND/OR LIGHTLY PRESS THE GAS PEDAL TO START IT. ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO, I GRINDED THE STARTER. SOMETIMES THE CAR WILL START ROUGHLY AND IMMEDIATELY STALL, OR WILL STALL THE FIRST FEW SECONDS AS I AM BACKING OUT THE DRIVE WAY. MY BRAKES NEED TO BE REPLACED, THE FRONT BRAKES ARE STARTING TO MAKE A THUMP WHEN BRAKING, AND YESTERDAY WHEN BRAKING HARD, I HEARD A SQUEAL NOISE, (REAR?). FUEL GAUGE SOMETIMES RAPIDLY FLUCTUATES, WHEN DRIVING, AND AT TIMES WHEN ACCELERATING,(THOUGH NOT CONCURRENT) I HEAR A "SWOOSH/GARGLING" SOUND. I WAS ACCELERATING TOO HARD. THE FUEL GAUGE WILL SWING AS MUCH AS A 1/4 TANK WHEN DRIVING BEFORE RECOVERING TO THE CORRECT POSITION. GAUGE SHOWS LOW FUEL LEVEL, LOW FUEL LIGHT COMES ON, I ONLY NEEDED 10-12 GALS TO FILL IT (~16 GALS). *TR

2005 CHEVY IMPALA HAVE HAD MANY PROBLEMS, THE MOST PROBLEMS HAVE STARTED AT 15,000 MILES, I HAVE HAD THE ROTORS REPLACED TWICE AND THE BRAKES REPLACED FOUR TIMES, THE MILEAGE ON THE CAR AT THIS TIME IS 44,900 MILES, THE AIR CONDITIONER WENT OUT AT 35,000 THE DEALER SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY, OF COURSE EVERY TIME I HAVE BROUGHT THE CAR IN FOR WARRANTY WORK THE DEALER HAS FOUND LITTLE THINGS WRONG THAT TOTAL UP TO $200 THAT COME OUT OF MY POCKET, LOTS OF VIBRATION IN FRONT END, TIRES HAVE CUPPED WITH THE PROBLEMS, THERE SHOULD BE SOME KIND OF RECALL FOR THIS, NOW I HAVE THE VIBRATION BACK AND THE DEALERSHIP HAS SAID THAT IT IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY ANYMORE, AND THE ROTORS AND BRAKES WERE REPLACED APPROXIMATELY 6 MONTHS AGO, THE BRAKES SEEM TO GO OUT EVERY 6 MONTHS. WHILE PARKED AT A GAS STATION AND TWICE WHEN ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, IT EVENTUALLY RESTARTED. THE DEALER INITIALLY STATED THAT THE FAILURE COULD BE DUE TO THE IGNITION OR THE STARTER. THE CONTACT FOUND A NAIL IN A TIRE AND WENT TO A TIRE SHOP. SHE WAS INFORMED THAT ALL FOUR OF THE TIRES HAD CRACKS ON THE EDGE OF THE TREAD AND WERE DRY ROTTED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 65,480 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,480.

9/29/2006 I PURCHASED A USED 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA FROM MISSION AUTOMOTIVE AND AN EAGLE WARRANTY. ON 1/31/2008 THE CAR HAD A "COOLANT" PROBLEM OR OVER-HEAT PROBLEM OF WHICH I TOOK IT IMMEDIATELY TO THE CERTIFIED CHEVY. DEALER. EAGLE WARRANTY SENT AN AGENT TO LOOK AT THE CAR AFTER I PAID $600 TO HAVE IT TORN DOWN. I ALSO INCURRED A RENTAL CAR DURING THIS TIME. THE PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED BY THE CHEVY DEALER AS AN "ENGINE COOLANT" PROBLEM. THE AGENT FROM THE WARRANTY CONCURRED AND WOULD NOT PAY FOR ANYTHING. I HAVE THAT REPORT. THE CHEF 2005 IMPALA OPERATORS BOOK STATES THE COOLING SYSTEM IN YOUR VEHICLE IS FILLED WITH DEX-COOL ENGINE COOLANT. THIS COOLANT IS DESIGNED TO REMAIN IN YOUR VEHICLE FOR 5 YEARS OR 150,000 MILES, WHICHEVER OCCURS FIRST. MY CAR WAS PURCHASED WITH 84,460 MILES, THE DEFECT OCCURRED AT 96,542 MILES. *TR

AFTER CLEARING SNOW OFF THE WINDSHIELD WITH THE WIPERS, THEY NO LONGER GO TO THE PARK POSITION. THE WIPERS STOP IN AN UPWARD POSITION BLOCKING YOUR VIEW OF THE ROAD. FOUND BENT STOP TAB ON WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY DUE TO MANY WRITE UPS ON THE WEB. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM AND I BELIEVE GM HAS A FIX FOR IT. I WAS QUOTED $500+ FOR A REPLACEMENT MOTOR ASSEMBLY.
