I HAVE A 2005 IMPALA AND I'VE BEEN EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH THE STEERING AND WAS TOLD BY A GM MECHANIC THAT IT WAS MY TIRES, SO I HAD ALL 4 TIRES REPLACED AND STILL HAVE ISSUES WHEN TURNING THE WHEEL. I CAN HEAR AND FEEL A CLICKING/POPPING NOSE EVERYTIME. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE WOULD INDICATE THAT THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING HOT; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE DID NOT EXHIBIT ANY RELATED SYMPTOMS OR FAILURES. THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE WAS REPAIRED WARNING LIGHT CONTINUED TO ILLUMINATE ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 136,276.
STRONG GAS SMELL IN CAR WHILE IDLING AND DRIVING. *TR
BAD GAS SMELL WHEN YOU TURN HEAT ON. *TR
SPEEDOMETER SAID I WAS DOING 87 MPH WHEN CAR WAS SHUT OFF AND IN PARK. TOOK CAR TO DEALER, HAD INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REPLACED. ALSO HAD THEM CHECK POP IN THE STEERING( MADE NOISE WHEN I BOUGHT IT FROM DEALER WITH LESS THAN 31,000 MILES ON IT. DEALER REPLACED INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER, STEERING SHAFT AND CRUISE CONTROL SENSOR. ( CRUISE CONTROL WOULD JUST SHUT OFF AND WORK PERIODICALLY.) IT WAS REALLY JUST AN ADJUSTMENT ON THE BRAKE SENSOR SWITCH THAT NEEDED ADJUSTMENT. HAD TO TAKE CAR BACK FOR THE ADJUSTMENT TO BRAKE PEDAL SENSOR. *TR
OUR COMPLAINT IS ABOUT GM'S UNWILLINGNESS TO RECALL 2005 CHEVY IMPALA'S FOR THE SPEEDOMETER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (STEPPER MOTOR) ISSUE. APPARENTLY, THEY'VE RECALLED THE TRUCKS BUT NOT THE CARS. THAT'S TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. I HAVE TO PAY $500 TO GET THIS FIXED AND THEY ARE AWARE OF THE ISSUE BUT, NOW MY VEHICLE HAS OVER 70,000 MILES WHICH IS ALSO A PROBLEM-I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THIS WOULD MATTER - BROKEN IS BROKEN. ANYTHING YOU CAN DO TO HELP TO GET THIS RECALLED WITH NO MILEAGE RESTRICTIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 CHEVY IMPALA. THE SPEEDOMETER WILL QUIT WORKING AND EITHER DROPS TO ZERO OR SHOWS A SLOWER SPEED THAN WHAT YOU ARE TRAVELING. IN ADDITION THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE WILL ALSO SHOW A LESSER TEMPERATURE THAN WHAT IS NORMALLY SHOWN. THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT HAS GOING ON SINCE 2007. I HAVE TRIED TO GET THIS REPAIRED BUT THE TECHNICIANS SAY THEY HAVE AN ISSUE ISOLATING THE PROBLEM. *TR
2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FAILURE. SPEEDOMETER WORKS INTERMITTENTLY AND TEMP GAUGE STOPPED WORKING ALL TOGETHER. UNSURE IF FUEL GAUGE IS ACCURATE. MY SPEEDOMETER DOES NOT WORK IT STARTED OUT READING THE WRONG SPEED NOW IT IS PEGGED ALL THE WAY OUT THE NEEDLE LAYS ON THE D FOR DRIVE. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO NEVER KNOWING HOW FAST YOU ARE GOING. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 CHEVY IMPALA WITH 45,200 MILE ON IT AND FROM DAY ONE I HAVE HAD A ELECTRICAL PROBLEM OF SOME SORT EVERY TIME I AM DRIVING ALL MY LIGHTS WILL GO OUT,EVEN ALL MY PANEL LIGHTS INSIDE. ABOUT 1 1/2 YRS AGO I BOUGHT A 2005 IMPALA, WITHIN 4 MTHS MY SPEEDOMETER, GAS GAUGE & RPM GAUGE ALL STARTED ACTING UP. MY GAS GAUGE GOES WAY PAST THE FULL LINE AND NEVER COMES BACK DOWN, THE SPEEDOMETER WILL SAY I AM DOING OVER 200 KM WHEN I MAY BE DOING 50 KM, THE ONLY WAY I HAVE FOUND TO "FIX" THIS IS BY LETTING THE CAR COOL OFF FOR ABOUT TEN MINUTES AND THEN TURN THE KEY OFF AND ON UNTIL IT DROPS THE SPEEDOMETER BACK DOWN TO ZERO, AND MY RPM GAUGE WILL DROP TO UNDER ZERO WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAPPENS MOSTLY DURING COLD WEATHER, BUT HAS BEEN KNOWN TO HAPPEN WHILE HIGHWAY DRIVING DURING THE REST OF THE YEAR. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH THE RCMP AND THEY FEEL THIS IS A DISASTER WAITING TO HAPPEN. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH THE COMPANY AND HAVE ONLY BEEN TOLD THAT I MAY GET A DISCOUNT ON HAVING THE PART IN QUESTION REPLACED...I WAS TOLD BY ONE DEALERSHIP IT WAS A CLUSTER PROBLEM IN THE DASH AND THE PART ALONE IS $600 NOT INCLUDING LABOR. I HAVE TO TRAVEL 6 HRS A MONTH ATLEAST FOR DOCTORS APPOINTMENTS AND THE SAFETY ISSUE MAKES ME VERY NERVOUS ON THE DRIVES TO AND FROM MY DOCTOR APPOINTMENTS AS I DO NOT KNOW HOW FAST I AM GOING ON THE CURVES, DOWN HILLS, OR ON ICY PATCHES ON THE SECONDARY ROADS I HAVE TO TAKE TO MY APPOINTMENTS. I KNOW THERE ARE OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE FROM THE COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED I WAS DECEMBER 2008 AND SINCE THEN HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHEN THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO START THE VEHICLE AFTER IT HAD BEEN PARKED FOR HOURS, SHE SMELLED A STRONG ODOR OF FUEL THROUGH THE AIR VENTS. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THERE WAS NO FUEL SPILLAGE ON THE GROUND. THE AUTHORIZED DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 07E021000 (FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY:PRESSURE RELIEF DEVICES), ALTHOUGH THE FAILURES WERE IDENTICAL. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE UNKNOWN.
THIS PAST SUMMER IN JUNE, THE SPEEDOMETER WOULD READ 40-80 MPH WHEN STOPPED/IDLE. PROBLEM SUBSIDED AFTER A FEW WEEKS. MORE RECENTLY, WITHIN THE LAST 2 WEEKS, MY SPEEDOMETER IN MY 2005 IMPALA WOULD GRADUALLY GO DOWN GRADUALLY DURING LONG DISTANCE TRAVEL (100MI+) ON THE I-10. TO ME, THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE WITH THE CAR. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE SPEEDOMETER DISPLAYED 100 MPH. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP AND THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER FAILED. THE REPAIR WOULD COST $350. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL, NO REPAIR OR COMPENSATION WOULD BE MADE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,200 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 42,000. TRANSMISSION IS FAULTY. I ONLY HAVE 100,00 MILES ON AN 2005 CHEVY IMPALA, I HAVE TO REPLACE THE WATER PUMP AND RADIATOR. NOW IN DECEMBER I HAVE TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. *TR
TRANSMISSION SHIFTS CHANGE HARD, MAKES SHUDDER NOISE, WILL SPEED UP AND SLOW DOWN ON ITS OWN. SPEEDOMETER GOES UP AND DOWN. *TR
THE SPEEDOMETER READING ON OUR 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA IS INACCURATE/MALFUNCTIONING. SITTING STILL AT THE STOP LIGHT IT READS 100 MPH AND OTHER TIMES 30 MPH PULLING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY IT READS 70 MPH AND AT OTHER TIMES IT POINTS STRAIGHT DOWN AT THE NEUTRAL INDICATOR WITH NO READING AT ALL. OUR VEHICLE HAS 76200 MILES ON IT AND HE CONTACTED THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP WHICH IN TURN TOLD US THAT GM WOULD PAY FOR THE PROBLEM ON VEHICLES WITH LESS THAN 80000 BECAUSE IT WAS SO COMMON BUT GENERAL MOTORS HEADQUARTERS SAID SINCE THEY WERE FILLING BANKRUPTCY THEY WOULD NOT PAY FOR IT AND WE WERE ON OUR OWN. THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP SAID THEY COULD FIX THE PROBLEM FOR 500.00 TO 700.00 DOLLARS WHICH IS UNACCEPTABLE. GM WANTS A GOVERNMENT BAILOUT AT THEIR CUSTOMER'S EXPENSE AND THEIR EQUIPMENT MALFUNCTION. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! *TR
MY 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA WITH THE V-6 3800 ENGINE HAS DEVELOPED A PROBLEM WHERE THE SPEEDOMETER HAS CEASED TO WORK PROPERLY. IT EITHER DOES NOT REGISTER ANY SPEED AT ALL OR IT FAILS TO RETURN TO ZERO WHEN THE CAR IS STOPPED. IN DOING SOME RESEARCH ONLINE THERE ARE NUMEROUS POSTINGS ON EDMONDS.COM REGARDING THIS DEFECT. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND ANY RECALL NOTICES FOR THIS DEFECT FROM GENERAL MOTORS. IT IS MY OPINION THAT THIS DEFECT POSES A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE MOTORISTS LIKE MYSELF ARE UNABLE TO DETERMINE ACCURATELY THE SPEED AT WHICH THE VEHICLE IS BEING OPERATED. THIS POSES A VARIETY OF POTENTIAL DANGERS TO THE MOTORISTS OPERATING THE VEHICLE WITH THE DEFECTIVE SPEEDOMETERS, OTHER MOTORISTS ON THE ROADWAYS, PEDESTRIANS, AND FIRST RESPONDERS AT TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS. *TR

I HAVE A 2005 CHEVY IMPALA.. FOR PAST TWO WEEKS MY SPEEDOMETER HAS BEEN READING INCORRECTLY. I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE DOING 70 MPH BUT IT FELT MORE LIKE 50. I HAVE CHECKED OTHER FORUMS AND FOUND THAT THERE ARE MANY MANY OTHER IMPALA OWNERS EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS SEEMS TO ME TO BE A FACTORY DEFAULT. I OWN A 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA WITH APPROX. 86,000 MILES ON IT. MY SPEEDOMETER IS GOING HAYWIRE(NOT CONSISTENT AT ALL) AND I AM UNABLE TO CORRECTLY TELL MY SPEED. I KNOW THERE ARE QUITE A BIT OF OTHER GM VEHICLES WITH THE SAME ISSUE BECAUSE THERE IS A BLOG ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THEM. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THIS DUE TO THE FACT THAT I HAVE A 3 YEAR OLD SON AND MY WIFE WITH ME A LOT. GM SAID THEY WILL NOT PAY FOR THIS PROBLEM TO BE FIXED AND A LOT OF PEOPLE CAN NOT AFFORD IT($500-$800). I JUST HOPE GM WILL TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND FIX THIS ISSUE AT FREE OF CHARGE TO THE CONSUMER BEFORE SOMEONE GETS INJURED OR EVEN KILLED. *TR
GAS GAUGE READS EMPTY WHEN CAR WAS JUST FUELED. SPEEDOMETER AT TIMES READS 0 WHEN I'M DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. AT TIMES THE SPEEDOMETER WILL READ 65 YET I'M ZOOMING PAST CARS SO WHO KNOWS WHAT SPEED I AM GOING. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT A SECURITY WARNING INDICATOR WOULD SPORADICALLY ILLUMINATE ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, BUT A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS NOT PERFORMED. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT IT WOULD COST APPROXIMATELY $600 TO HAVE THE SECURITY SYSTEM RE-WIRED. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT YET BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 86,776.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL GAUGES WERE INOPERATIVE AND DISPLAYED INACCURATE READINGS. IN ADDITION, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED SPORADICALLY, THE REAR PASSENGER TAIL LIGHT WAS POORLY ILLUMINATED, AND THE BATTERY FAILED SPONTANEOUSLY. WHEN THE FAILURES OCCURED, SHE SMELLED A BURNING ODOR AS IF THE WIRES WERE BURNING. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN INSPECTED TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
THE STEPPER MOTORS THAT CONTROL DASH INSTRUMENTS. SPEEDOMETER WILL NOT RESET TO 0 MPH AFTER COMING TO A FULL STOP. ALSO, STEPPER MOTOR CONTROLLING FUEL GAUGE. INACCURATE FUEL AVAILABLE READING AND I MUST RELY ON TRIP METER TO ESTIMATE WHAT FUEL IS REMAINING.
THE SPEEDOMETER IS AT 35 MPH WHEN THE CAR IS AT A STANDSTILL. THE INDICATED SPEED IS INCORRECT WHEN THE CAR IS MOVING, SHOWING A FASTER SPEED THAN THE CAR IS MOVING. *TR
2005 CHEVY IMPALA SPEEDOMETER IMPROPERLY WORKING SHOW I AM DOING 100MPH WHEN I AM ONLY DOING 35. *TR
MY WIFE AND TWO CHILDREN WERE RIDING IN OUR 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA AND IT SUDDENLY STARTED ACCELERATING UNCONTROLLABLY. MY WIFE CALLED 911 AND TOLD THEM THAT SHE COULDN'T GET THE CAR TO STOP AND THE BRAKES SEEMED TO BE LOCKED. THE CAR WENT UNCONTROLLABLY FOR ABOUT 3/4 MILE, AND REACHED SPEEDS OVER 90 MPH. SHE ENDED UP PUTTING THE CAR IN NEUTRAL TO GET IT TO SLOW DOWN EVEN THOUGH THE ENGINE WAS STILL ACCELERATING. WE HAD IT TOWED TO A CHEVY DEALER, BUT THEY DIDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. IF MY WIFE WOULDN'T HAVE THOUGHT TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL, MY ENTIRE FAMILY VERY POSSIBLY COULD HAVE DIED. VERY SCARY INCIDENT!! *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA. SPORADICALLY, THE SPEEDOMETER ON THE INSTRUMENT CONTROL PANEL BECOMES INOPERATIVE AND DISPLAYS INACCURATE READINGS. AS A CONSEQUENCE, THE CONTACT CANNOT ACCURATELY MEASURE THE SPEED SHE IS DRIVING. THERE IS ALSO A STRONG FUEL ODOR EMANATING FROM THE VEHICLE. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A REPAIR SHOP, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED OR REMEDIED. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN PROPERLY REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 116,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH AT NIGHT ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, THE HEADLIGHTS UNEXPECTEDLY LOST POWER. THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE HEADLIGHTS ACTIVATED AUTOMATICALLY WHEN THE ENGINE WAS STARTED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WILL BE TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR REPAIR. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED OF THE SAFETY RISK INVOLVED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 55,000.
MY SPEEDOMETER IS NOT FUNCTIONING ON MY 005 IMPALA AND HAS NOT FOR MONTHS. IT WILL SAY YOU ARE DOING 100 WHEN PARKED AND NEVER COMES BACK DOWN UNLESS YOU KEEP RESTARTING THEN ENGINE TO MAKE IT "SHOCK DROP" BACK DOWN. THE DEALER WANTS $400+ TO REPLACE THE WHOLE UNIT. IT SEEMS THAT FROM JUST A LITTLE RESEARCH ONLINE THAT THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH NUMEROUS IMPALA'S MANUFACTURED SINCE '04. *TR

SPEEDOMETER HAS CEASED TO FUNCTION PROPERLY. WHEN CAR IS TURNED OFF IT'S STUCK AT 80 MPH AND WILL PEG ITSELF OUT AS THE CAR SPEEDS UP. UPON RESEARCH REPAIR WILL COST 300+ DOLLARS. CAR HAS 55,450 MILES. THIS WILL BE REPAIRED UPON PAYCHECK BEING RECEIVED. *TR
DIGITAL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SPEEDOMETER AND FUEL LEVEL GAUGE, SPEEDOMETER GOES PAST 120MPH WHILE DRIVING AND CONTINUES CLIMBING UNTIL THE ENGINE IS SHUT OFF, FUEL GAUGE DOES THE SAME GOES PAST FULL WHEN LESS THAN FULL. THE PROBLEM IS NOT CONSTANT BUT OCCURS MOSTLY IN DAMP OR RAINY WEATHER. I HAVE FOUND THAT BOTH CAN BE RESET SIMPLY BY TURNING THE IGNITION KEY ON AND OFF UNTIL WHICH EVERY INSTRUMENT IS ACTING UP GOES BACK TO ZERO. IT 'S MORE OF A NUISANCE THAN ANY THING. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG SENSOR INDICATOR FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG FLASHES, EVEN WHEN THE PASSENGER SEAT IS UNOCCUPIED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE IS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 61,000. UPDATED 12/11/08 *BF THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THE PROBLEM WAS THE CLOCKSPRING IN THE STEERING COLUMN. UPDATED 12/11/08
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 5-25 MPH, THE SPEEDOMETER AND THE TEMPERATURE GAUGES MOVED UP AND DOWN. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A PERSONAL MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO NEED COOLANT. PERIODICALLY, WHILE TRAVELING IN RESIDENTIAL AREAS OR AREAS WHERE THE SPEED LIMIT IS LESS THAN 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE WILL ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN. TEMPERATURE GAGE IS WORKING ONLY PART TIME, WILL INCREASE ABRUPTLY AND THEN DEGREE JUST AS FAST. LAST WEEK THE SPEEDOMETER CONTINUED TO INCREASE PAST THE NUMBERS THEN DECREASED SLOWLY THROUGHOUT THE DAY. I FILLED UP WITH GAS AND THE SPEEDOMETER STARTED WORKING AGAIN BUT THE TEMPERATURE GAGE FLOATED BACK AND FORTH. THIS WEEK THE SPEEDOMETER IS ON 90 WHEN THE CAR IS OFF. FILLED UP WITH GAS AGAIN HOPING IT WOULD CORRECT THE SPEEDOMETER AGAIN. INSTEAD THE SPEEDOMETER DROPPED TO THE N POSITION AT THE BOTTOM AND WILL MOVE TO 120 OCCASIONALLY. TOOK THE CAR TO REPAIR SHOP, HAD THE SENSOR CHECKED. SENSOR IS FINE. WAS TOLD MANY HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM AND IS A DEFECT WITH THE CLUSTER THAT GM WILL NOT RECOGNIZE. 2005 IMPALA POPPING SOUND MADE IN STEERING WHEEL WHEN TURNING VEHICLE. AFTER CONSULTING WITH MECHANIC HE STATED IT COULD BE A PROBLEM THAT COULD CAUSE MY STEERING TO FAIL WHILE DRIVING. AFTER PERFORMING RESEARCH ONLINE IT APPEARS THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE INITIAL DESIGN OF THE VEHICLE'S STEERING LUBRICATION SYSTEM. THIS COULD BE A POTENTIAL SAFETY CONCERN IF THE STEERING FAILS WHILE IN MOTION AND THE DRIVER IS UNABLE TO STEER THE CAR. *TR

AFTER 2 DAYS WENT BACK DOWN TO 0 AND THE NEXT DAY RETURNED TO 60 AT REST AND UP TO 120+ WHILE DRIVING. LOW BEAM MALFUNCTION. LOW BEAM CONNECTOR COMPLETELY FRIED. CONNECTOR MELTED ON TO THE BULB. 3-5 BULBS NEED TO BE REPLACED EACH MONTH AND MUST TAKE IT TO THE AUTO SHOP TO HAVE A NEW CONNECTOR PLACED ON AS WELL. CHEVY WOULD NOT HELP, SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. DEALER SAID THAT MY WHOLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WOULD HAVE TO BE RE-DONE BECAUSE THERE IS TOO MUCH POWER RUNNING TO THE BULBS. THEN THE SAME PROCESS WILL START ALL OVER AGAIN. THE CAR ALSO TENDS TO DRIVE SLUGGISH WHEN THIS IS HAPPENING. COULD IT BE THE SPEEDOMETER OR TRANSMISSION??? CAR CAN BE PARKED FOR SEVERAL HOURS OR A FEW MINUTES AND THERE IS A STRONG ODOR OF GAS COMING THROUGH THE AIR VENTS, NO LEAKS OR SPILLS OF GAS ARE PRESENT, ONLY HAPPENS SPORADICALLY NOT EVERY DAY OR EVEN EVERY WEEK IT IS REALLY WEIRD.
