TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE ENGINE POWER REDUCE LIGHT AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AS THE VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION BUT THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000.
1. THE CAR WOULD STOP ACCELERATING AND COMPLETELY TURN OFF WHILE DRIVING. STEERING WHEEL WOULD LOCK AND WOULD COAST TO A STOP. ALL THE LIGHTS ON INSTRUMENT PANEL AND EVERYTHING WOULD TURN OFF. 2. 3 SEAT BELT LATCHES NO LONGER WORK. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD CONSTANTLY SEIZE WITHOUT WARNING WHEN TURNING LEFT. THE CONTACT HAD TO USE FORCE WHEN EXITING A PARKING AREA AND THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE PARALLEL PARKED DUE TO THE STEERING FAILURE. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 09E005000 (STEERING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 77,000.
DRIVING ON FREEWAY WHEN A REDUCED ENGINE POWER LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR SHUT OFF, LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO PULL ASIDE FROM BIG TRUCKS, OTHERWISE I WOULD BE STRUCK BY. NO CODES AND NO ONE KNOWS WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. AS FAR AS I KNOW THIS IS A MAJOR INCIDENT THAT SOMEONE CAN GET HURT OR LOSES LIFE. I WENT ONLINE THRU EDMUNDS AND SAW A LOTS OF COMPLAINS ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM, BUT WHEN I CALLED THE DEALER THEY SAID NOTHING ABOUT A RECALL !! BEEN A CHEVY CUSTOMER FOR A LONG TIME. I JUST CAN'T BELIEVE IT. SOMETHING OR SOMEONE GOT TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM, PLEASE !!! *TR
WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE CAR WILL START TO SLOWING DOWN AND CHUGGING THEN SAY ENGINE POWER IS BEING REDUCED AND IT WILL BARLEY DRIVE FROM THERE. THE CAR CAN BE GOING AT ANY SPEED AND BE DOING THIS. THE INSIDE OF THE CARS WINDOWS WOULD FOG AND THEN ICE UP DURING LAST YEARS WINTER. COULD NOT SEE OUT THE WINDOWS EXCEPT SMALL AREA OF DRIVERS SIDE FRONT WINDOW. TOOK INTO DEALERSHIPS TWICE AND THEY COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHY OR FIX IT. *TR
ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, "REDUCED TRACTION CONTROL" LIGHT CAME ON, POWER WAS DRASTICALLY REDUCED AND THEN "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" LIGHT CAME ON. CAR HAS A PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED, BUT CUTTING OFF POWER AND ACCELERATION WHILE I'M MAKING A TURN WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC OR DRIVING 70+ MPH IS NOT A SAFE WAY OF ADDRESSING THAT PROBLEM. I CAN TURN OFF THE CAR AND REGAIN POWER. NEARLY ANY OTHER WAY OF ADDRESSING THE CODE WOULD BE INFINITELY BETTER THAN KILLING POWER WHILE DRIVING. IT IS NOT SAFE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER FAILED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
I JUST GOT OFF THE HIGHWAY AND ATTEMPTED TO GO THROUGH AN INTERSECTION, WHEN I TRIED THE TRANSMISSION ONLY REVVED UP, THE CAR DID NOT PICK UP SPEED (VERY CLOSE TO BECOMING AN ACCIDENT). AFTER THAT THE PERSON BEHIND ME ALMOST GOT HIT BY ME BECAUSE I WAS ON A HILL AND MY CAR WOULDN'T MOVE. *TR
OBSERVED A FLUID LEAK NEAR RIGHT FRONT WHEEL. THE LEAK IS POWER STEERING FLUID. FOUND THE LEAK TO BE CAUSED BY A HOLE IN THE ALUMINUM POWER STEERING RETURN/COOLING LINE. THE LINE WAS LEAKING CAUSED BY THE PLASTIC WHEEL WELL LINER RUBBING A HOLE IN THE ALUMINUM TUBE. *TR
WAS DRIVING IN TO WORK. STOPPED AT MCDONALD'S AND NOTICED CAR SMOKING. DROVE ACROSS THE STREET TO MY JOB TO MY DASH BOARD LIGHTING UP WARNING ME TO SHUT THE ENGINE OFF BECAUSE THE CAR WAS OVERHEATING. I DID EXACTLY THAT (SHUT THE CAR OFF) AND WENT INSIDE TO CALL FOR HELP. THIS IS THE 3RD PROBLEM THAT I HAVE HAD WITH THIS CAR AND I HAVE HAD THE CAR ALMOST 4 YEARS. LIKE MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS, MY HEAT DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY, I'M GOING THROUGH OIL LIKE CRAZY, AND I SEEM TO BE HAVING TRANSMISSION ISSUES AS IT HARD TO GET THE CAR OUT OF PARK AND INTO DRIVE AND WHEN IT DOES FINALLY GO, I GET WHIPLASH FROM THE JERK. GM NEEDS TO STEP UP BEFORE SOMEONE IS SEVERELY HURT. *TR
SS MODEL: THE DRIVER SIDE VISOR WOULD NOT STAY IN PLACE AND WHEN I WAS INSPECTING IT THE METAL PIECE CONNECTING THE VISOR TO THE ROOF WAS EXTREMELY HOT. AFTER DRIVING MORE YOU COULD SMELL AN ELECTRICAL FIRE. I GOT HOME AND WHEN I OPENED THE DOOR THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WERE FLICKERING. I THEN NOTICED THAT THE VISOR WAS ACTUALLY BURNED AND IT BURNED THE INTERIOR ON THE ROOF. I THEN PULLED THE CIRCUIT BREAKERS FOR ALL INTERIOR LIGHTING. IT'S NOT FIXED YET. I'VE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR. TWO TRANSMISSIONS REPLACED, TORQUE CONVERTER REPLACED, FOUR BATTERIES, WATER PUMP REPLACED, POWER STEERING PUMP REPLACED, ENGINE MOUNTING BOLT REPLACED, WINDSHIELD WASHER PUMP DOESN'T WORK, AND THE TRACTION CONTROL/ABS WARNING LIGHTS ARE MOSTLY ON. WHEN THE WARNING LIGHTS ARE NOT ON THEY BOTH "WORK" WHEN THEY NOT SUPPOSED TO. NONE OF THESE PROBLEMS HAS BEEN UNDER WARRANTY. AN AWFUL LOT WRONG FOR A CAR WITH LESS THAN 100,000 MILES. *TR

MY CAR HAD BEEN SHOWING THE SERVICE BATTERY CHARGING SYSTEM FOR ABOUT TWO DAYS. WHEN I CALLED SOUTHEAST KIA OF SOMERSET, THEY TRIED TO SAY IT WAS THE ACTUALLY BATTERY, KEEP IN MIND, I HAVE ONLY HAD THIS CAR FOR SIX WEEKS. I KNEW THAT IT WASN'T BECAUSE I HAD BEEN HAVING NO PROBLEMS WITH MY CAR WHATSOEVER BEFORE THIS, AND I WAS RAISED AROUND MECHANICS AND TRUCK DRIVERS, I DO KNOW A LITTLE ABOUT CARS. WHEN I TURNED THE CAR OFF IT WOULD NOT START BACK UP. I HAD THE BATTERY JUMPED THREE TIMES AND IT DIED SITTING THERE, WE FINALLY GOT IT CHARGED SO THAT I COULD DRIVE TO MY MOTHERS, BUT HAD PROBLEMS ON THE WAY THERE. AS I WAS DRIVING, ALL OF MY GAUGES COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING IN MY CAR, AND I THOUGHT THE CAR HAD DIED AND THAT I WAS COASTING. SO I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, WITH MY THREE CHILDREN IN THE CAR, AND REALIZED THE CAR WAS RUNNING. I SHUT THE CAR OFF, BUT IT KEPT RUNNING. NOW, KIA IS SAYING THAT IF IT'S THE ALTERNATOR IT'S NOT COVERED UNDER A TWO YEAR WARRANTY THAT I HAVE, BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO FIX IT BASICALLY. I HAVE BEEN SEVERELY RIPPED OFF, AND NOW ME AND MY CHILDREN ARE WITHOUT A CAR. I THINK IT IS RIDICULOUS THAT CAR LOTS ARE ABLE TO SEND OUT TERRIBLE AND UNRELIABLE CARS TO PEOPLE WITHOUT A SECOND THOUGHT, AND THEN DON'T WANT TO FIX THINGS. NOW I AM TRYING TO FIND A WAY TO GET A DIFFERENT CAR AND LEAVE THIS PIECE OF JUNK ON THEIR LOT, I WILL PROBABLY NEVER BUY A CAR AGAIN UNLESS IT ONLY HAS ABOUT 20 MILES ON IT AND IS BRAND NEW, AND WILL DEFINITELY DO MORE RESEARCH ON THE TYPE OF CAR, ALONG WITH THE DEALERSHIP SELLING IT TO ME. SOMETIME IN JANUARY OF 2012, I RECEIVED A NOTICED FROM GENERAL MOTORS ABOUT REPAIRING AND REPLACING THE POWER STEERING HOSES OF MY 2006 CHEVY IMPALA. I TOOK MY IMPALA FOR REPAIRS AT A LOCAL CHEVY DEALER IN APRIL 2012. *TR PRIOR TO RECEIVING THE NOTICED ABOUT THE REPAIRS FROM GENERAL MOTORS, I KEPT HEARING A BUZZING SOUND. THE BUZZING SOUND STOPPED WHEN I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR STEERING HOSE REPAIRS AS SUGGESTED BY GENERAL MOTORS. ABOUT TWO DAYS AGO, I STARTED TO HEAR THE SAME BUZZING SOUND. I CALLED THE DEALER TO INQUIRE ABOUT THE REPAIRS. THE DEALER WHICH MADE THE REPAIRS LIED TO ME ABOUT MAKING THE REPAIRS IN NOVEMBER 2009. CHEVY STATED THEY WOULD NOT MAKE ANY REPAIRS. *TR

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THE VEHICLE WAS STUCK IN PARK AND WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT PARK GEAR. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WHO STATED THE INTERMEDIATE SHAFT WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT DID NOT HAVE THE INTERMEDIATE SHAFT REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000.
ORIGINAL OWNER OF VEHICLE. NOTICED SOMETIME IN AUGUST OF 2013 THAT THE REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER WASN'T WORKING. CHECKED FUSE, RELAY, GRID CONNECTIONS AND FOUND INCOMPLETE CIRCUIT. TRACED OPEN CIRCUIT TO A WIRING HARNESS CONNECTOR BEHIND PASSENGER SIDE KICK PANEL UNDER GLOVE BOX. FOUND THAT REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER WIRE (PURPLE) WAS BURNED AND INSULATION WAS MELTED. SEPARATED THE WIRING HARNESS CONNECTOR TO FIND THAT SPECIFIC CONNECTOR FOR THIS WIRE INSIDE CONNECTOR WAS ALSO BURNED AND MELTED ON BOTH SIDES OF THE CONNECTOR. CONCERNED ABOUT FIRE HAZARD. *TR
2006 IMPALA REVS REALLY HIGH FOR A FEW SECONDS AND JERKS INTO MOTION WHEN I TAKE OFF FROM A STOP. IT HAPPENS A COUPLE TIMES A WEEK AND HAS SINCE I GOT IT WITH AROUND 70K MILES. IT SOUNDS LIKE A COMMON OCCURRENCE AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE IS A RECALL IN ORDER.. THE DEALER SAYS THEY'D HAVE TO REPLICATE WHAT IT'S DOING BUT I'D BE OUT OF POCKET FOR A RENTAL UNTIL/IF THEY WERE ABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM BEFORE THE WARRANTY COMPANY DECIDES "IF" THEY'LL COVER IT. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED AN ABNORMAL TAPPING NOISE FROM UNDER THE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE IT WAS STATED THAT THE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE STOPPED AT A MEDIAN, ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH CRASHED INTO THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A IMPOUND LOT. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC REPAIRED THE VEHICLE HOWEVER, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HORN AND THE DRIVERS SIDE HEADLIGHT FAILED SHORTLY AFTERWARD. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,000.
LAST JUNE I WENT TO THE STORE AND TRIED TO OPEN MY BACK DOORS AND THEY WOULD NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE. I WAS ABLE TO OPEN ONE OF THE BACK DOORS FROM THE OUTSIDE ONLY. THE DOOR LOCKS INDICATED THE DOORS WERE NOT LOCKED. IF I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT AND NEEDED TO GET PEOPLE OUT OF THE BACK SEAT OF MY CAR THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET OUT ON THEIR OWN. THE LOCKING MECHANISMS FAILED ON BOTH DOORS. BOTH DOORS HAS THIS LOCK ISSUE FOR ABOUT 3-4 MONTHS AND THEN ONE OF THE LOCKS STARTED WORKING AGAIN FROM THE INSIDE. EVENTUALLY THE OTHER DOOR STARTED WORKING AGAIN ONCE IT WAS GETTING CLOSE TO WINTER. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS LOOKED INTO AND A RECALL DONE BY GM. GM CONSISTENTLY PUTS OUT EXPENSIVE CARS WITH INADEQUATE PARTS THAT FAIL. I RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE ONLINE AND FOUND THIS WAS TYPICAL OF ALL CHEVY IMAPLA'S NO MATTER THE YEAR. *TR
MY HUSBAND AND ME WERE ON OUR WAY HOME FROM A FUNERAL, WHEN WERE ABOUT TO TURN INTO OUR SUBDIVISION THE STEERING WHEEL BARELY TURNED AND IS NOW MAKING A HIDEOUS NOISE. WHEN I CALLED ONE OF OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND ADVISED THEM WHAT HAPPENED, MUCH TO MY SURPRISE THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD COST ME $100.00 DOLLARS FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. WHEN I GAVE HER MY VIN NUMBER SHE STATED THAT IT WAS NOT LISTED AS ONE OF THE VEHICLES THAT HAD A RECALL. I DON'T KNOW HOW THEY DETERMINE WHICH CARS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE CONSIDERED A RECALL, BUT I DO KNOW IT HAS THE SAME ISSUE AS THOSE RECALLED. I DON'T THINK I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THEIR FAILED PRODUCT. *TR
2006 CHEVROLET IMPALA. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING. SHE EXPLAINED TO THE DEALER, THERE WAS A RECURRING PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION. EACH TIME, THE CONSUMER WENT TO THE DEALER, SHE WAS INFORMED THEY COULD NOT RECREATE THE PROBLEM, AND THEREFORE NO PROBLEM EXISTED. BESIDES THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM, THERE WAS A HORRIBLE RATCHETING MACHINE-GUN TYPE NOISE COMING FROM BEHIND THE DASH, WHEN SHE CHANGED THE VENT POSITION. THE LOUD NOISE LASTED FOR ABOUT A MINUTE AND WAS ALMOST EAR-PIERCING. ALSO, THE ENGINE MOUNT BROKE, THE WATER PUMP, STEERING AND TIE RODS FAILED, THE ENGINE BURNED EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF OIL, AND THE ENGINE LOW OIL LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE WINDOWS MADE A SCREECHING SOUND, THE SUNROOF WOULD DRAG, THE PLASTIC HEADLIGHT COVERED WERE FOGGED AND FADED. THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING LIGHT WAS CONSTANTLY ON. ON APRIL 24, 2013. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT TRANSMISSION SHOP TO HAVE THEM ASSESS THE SAME TRANSMISSION SLIPPING PROBLEM, SHE HAD BEEN EXPERIENCING FOR SEVEN YEARS. THEY DROPPED THE TRANSMISSION PAN, AND THEY FOUND FINE METAL, PIECES OF ALUMINUM AND CLUTCH MATERIAL IN THE PAN.

THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED ON THE FIRST ATTEMPT AND RESUMED NORMALLY. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURE WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 42,000.
I HAD JUST STARTED DRIVING TO WORK AROUND 8:00 AM. GOT ABOUT 3 MILES DOWN THE ROAD AND HAD GOT STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND I WENT TO ACCELERATE I FELT A HARD JERK FROM THE VEHICLE AS THE RPM'S WENT UP AND THE VEHICLE WENT NOWHERE. AFTER READING REVIEWS AND ISSUES WITH THESE VEHICLES IT LOOKS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS STARTING TO GO. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL CONSIDERING THE FACT THAT GM KNOWS OF THE ISSUE TSB# 07-07-30-012C. *TR
AT ABOUT 91000 MILES MY TRANSMISSION STARTED ACTING UP (NOT SHIFTING RIGHT, NOT GOING INTO ANY GEAR ETC.) IT FINALLY WOULD NOT SHIFT AT ALL UNLESS I TURNED THE CAR OFF MULTIPLE TIMES AND WOULD THEN DRIVE FOR ABOUT 2-5 MINUTES THEN ALL THE GEARS WOULD GO OUT AGAIN. I HAD IT TOWED TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP THINKING IT WAS JUST A CENSOR AND WAS TOLD THAT MY TRANSMISSION WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED/REPAIRED. IT COST ME ALMOST $3000 TO GET IT FIXED. I HAVE READ ON HERE AND ONLINE THAT THE 2006 CHEVY IMPALA HAS HAD MANY ISSUES WITH THIS. THIS IS A VERY COSTLY REPAIR AND WISH THERE WAS A WAY TO GET AT LEAST A LITTLE REFUND ON THE COST. ALSO I HAVE TRIED ABOUT EVERYTHING TO GET THE PASSENGER SIDE BODY SIDE MOLDING TO STAY ON AND PEOPLE I HAVE TALKED TO STATE THAT THEY HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THAT ONE STAYING ON. IT CATCHES MY DOOR IF I DON'T REMEMBER TO PUSH IT IN BEFORE OPENING THE DOOR. IT IS GOING TO COST ME $50.79 PLUS SHIPPING TO GET A NEW ONE OF THESE AS WELL. THE THIRD THING I HAVE WRONG IS I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE BOTH WHEEL BEARINGS IN THE FRONT END BECAUSE OF MY ABS TRACTION CONTROL SENSOR BEING MESSED UP! *TR
I PURCHASED THIS CAR USED AT 115,000 MILES IN FEBRUARY OF 2013. ON MY WAY TAKING MY CHILDREN TO SCHOOL ON MARCH 22,2013 MY SERVICE TRACTION LIGHT BEGIN TO FLASH FOLLOWED BY REDUCED POWER LIGHT. NOW I'M DOING 45 MILES AN HOUR WITH CARS RIGHT ON MY TAIL AND HAD TO GET OVER IN THE OTHER LANE..TO KEEP SOMEONE FROM RUNNING INTO THE BACK OF ME. BUT THIS MORNING OF MAY 10,2013 DID IT FOR ME. ON THE WAY TAKING THEM TO SCHOOL IT HAPPENED AGAIN,BUT I HAD TO SWERVE OFF THE ROAD. MY BABIES WERE ALL SHOOK UP.SOMETHING REALLY NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS,BECAUSE THIS COULD BE VERY FATAL. WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK RECEIVED ENGINE REDUCE POWER AND SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT. I WAS ON THE FREEWAY GOING 65MPH WHEN THIS MESSAGE CAME ON AND LOST POWER TO MY CAR. I WAS NEARLY HIT BY CARS BEHIND ME. APPARENTLY MY THROTTLE BODY WAS AT FAULT. ABOUT A YEAR LATER HAD THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPEN WHILE COMING HOME FROM WORK. THROTTLE WENT BAD AND WAS NEARLY STRUCK BY TRAFFIC AGAIN. GOOGLE CHEVY IMPALA THROTTLE BODY AND YOU WILL SEE ALL THE PROBLEMS. NOT SURE HOW THIS HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED YET. WHEN I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE I WAS TOLD THAT THEY DO AT LEAST 3-4 OF THESE A WEEK. HOW IS THIS ALLOWED TO BE PUT ON CARS WHEN AT ANY RANDOM POINT THIS COULD QUIT. THEY SAID IT HAS AN ISSUE RELATED TO OIL CORRODING THE WIRES WHICH WOULD ALSO EXPLAIN WHY I GO THROUGH 3-4 QTS OF OIL EVERY 3,000 MILES. THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE POWER STEERING COOLER LINE WHICH WAS REPAIRED BY REPLACING CLAMPS AND HOSE AS PER RECALL IN 2011.ON 10/12/12 THE STEERING GEAR AND THE POWER STEERING PUMP WERE REPLACED. ON 10/25/12 THE POWER STEERING PUMP THAT WAS PUT ON 10/12/12 WAS FOUND TO BE LEAKING AND WAS REPLACED. IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. ON 12/16/14 ANOTHER POWER STEERING PUMP HAD TO BE PUT ON AS THE PREVIOUS ONE HAD FAILED. THE PUMP THAT WAS REPLACED WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. *TR

MY FIANCE WAS DRIVING MY CAR ON HIS WAY TO PICK MY CHILDREN UP FROM THEIR GRANDMOTHERS AND SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING. AS HE WAS TRYING TO FIND A PLACE TO PULL OVER SMOKE CAME INTO THE VEHICLE NEAR HIS FEET AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR WAS ON FIRE. GOOD THING HE HAD THE WINDOWS DOWN PRIOR TO THE FIRE BECAUSE THAT WAS HIS ONLY ESCAPE. ONE OF THE EMPLOYEES BROUGHT OUT A FIRE EXTINGUISHER AND TRIED TO PUT IT OUT WITH NO LUCK. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED AND FINALLY WAS ABLE TO PUT THE FIRE OUT. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE FIRE WAS IN THE AREA OF THE FUSE PANEL AND WIRING HARNESS. MY CAR IS A TOTAL LOSS AFTER JUST PAYING IT OFF JUST TWO WEEKS AGO! HEARTBREAKING. I'VE BEEN DOING MY RESEARCH AND WAS SURPRISED TO FIND THAT I'M NOT THE ONLY PERSON THAT THIS HAD HAPPENED TO.
