The driver side airbag did not deploy when I got into a wreck. I feel the airbags could have helped me from hitting the steering wheel and hurting my ribs. I feel that it could have been less painful to have the airbag deploy. I thought the airbags were in working order.
The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the seat belt buckle failed to latch securely. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Dash warning light indicates check airbags. (About a year ago). Upon using a code reader it states that the wrong airbags are installed and needs to be replaced. The airbags had been replaced in 2007 by GMC after a serious accident as a program\loaner. I purchased the repaired vehicle from Southern Chevrolet in December of 2007 from their used car lot. I do not know why it has gone unnoticed for all these years.
There is an electrical connector behind the right side, kick panel that overloads and chars the plastic housing. The connector is for the rear defroster grid, but it cannot handle the amperage that the grid carries. It overloads and is a fire hazard that can could start a fire in the passenger compartment. It is a very common problem on ninth generation Chevrolet Impalas, to the point there are multiple YouTube videos, offering shade tree repair advice that bypass the connector with a jumper wire. I started for the first time in early June of having reduced engine power. At this time I get several warrning lights on dashboard. I get engine power is reduced, traction control and engine light. The car goes into limp mode. I replaced the accelerator pedal position sensor after the first event. Since this time I had it happen 4 more times. This situation can be dangerous if a car is behind me and I slow up real quick due to going into limp mode. I try to pull over where I can when this happens. Once I pull over for 10 minutes the car will resume like normal driving with just the engine light on. The next day the engine light usually leaves. It is hard to know when this will occur but it can be a dangerous situation to be in.

Check engine light Code p2138 Change the throttle pedal position sensor the next day the car dropped down to 5 to 10 mph information center said engine safety been reduced to 5 to 10 mph plus my traction control light came on then information center said service traction control put my old throttle pedal position sensor back on and it turn traction control light out and the car went back to driving normal don't know how long its going to last before it goes back to 5 to 10 mph and the information center says engine decelerate to 5 to 10 mph.was on highway in Texas had to get over on shoulder quick car just slow down quick and pedal was to floor. Also keep failing state inspection due to failed OBDII test ( see vir).

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN SHE TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL AN ABNORMAL GRINDING NOISE WAS HEARD. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT WAS RELATING THE AIR BAGS NOT DEPLOYING TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V355000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED NECK AND BACK SORENESS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE AND WAS TOWED TO AN IMPOUND LOT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED AS OF YET. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 129,000.

HAD ISSUES WITH MY 2007 IMPALA 3.9L STALLING AND REDUCING POWER ON MY WIFE, AND AT TIMES ALMOST LEAVING HER IN OR ON THE ROAD. I HAVE REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY, THROTTLE PEDDLE ( TWICE ) AND HAD THE CAR FLASHED AT THE LOCAL GM DEALER. NOW THE CAR NOT ONLY READS REDUCED ENGINE POWER IT READ STARTING DISABLED SERVICE THROTTLE AND DIED WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING DOWN A BUSY HIGHWAY DURING RUSH HOUR.. CAUSING HER TO ALMOST BE INVOLVED IN A BAD WRECK. THIS SERIOUSLY NEEDS TO HAVE ATTENTION OF WHOEVER AT GM IS OVER SAFETY, CAUSE THIS ISSUE WILL END UP IN A REALLY BAD SITUATION IF OR WHEN SOMEONE ENDS UP SERIOUSLY HURT OR KILLED. I MEAN YOU REALLY NEED TO PROGRAM THEM TO SLOWLY REDUCE POWER, NOT JUST TELL YOU THEN SHUT OFF COMPLETELY AND HAVE THE DRIVER FIGHT AND PANIC TO GET OFF THE ROAD THROUGH TRAFFIC, WHILE NOT GETTING RUN OVER IN THE PROCESS. BUT IF THERE IS A FIX WE NEED TO KNOW.
The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that the dashboard had cracked due to the heat. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed the crack had extended to the passenger side airbag. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 96,000.
THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING OVER 40MPH. THE DRIVER SWERVED TO MISS A DOG IN THE ROAD THE VEHICLE ROLLED AND LANDED ON THE ROOF OF THE CAR. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOYED AND THE DRIVER WAS SEEN AT THE ER FOR CERVICAL AND LEFT SIDED PAIN.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 200,000.
DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER, VEHICLE WAS PUT INTO A DEEP DITCH HITTING A TREE STOPPING IT COMPLETELY AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE REAR END OF THE VEHICLE WAS CATAPULTED INTO THE AIR AND RETURNED TO THE GROUND QUICKLY AFTER. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION HEADED FOR A TEE INTERSECTION WHERE THE DITCH WAS LOCATED ACROSS THE TEE INTERSECTION.

THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 260,000.
COOLANT CROSSOVER PIPE GASKETS ROTTED AWAY AND HEAT QUIT WORKING LEAVING MY WIFE AND KIDS TO FREEZE IN THE WINTER.
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR TO WORK ON TUESDAY 11-12-2019 AT 6 AM IN THE MORNING, MY BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON THEN, MESSAGE DISPLAYED BATTERY SAVER ACTIVE,AC HOT SHUT OFF, TRACTION ON AND REDUCE POWER, EVERYTHING CAME ON IN DASHBOARD AND ABOUT 10 MINUTES LATER THE WHOLE SYSTEM SHUT DOWN, AND CAR WILL NOT START BACK UP. HAD TO GET SOMEONE TO JUMP START IN ORDER TO START CAR BACK UP IT WILL RUN A PERIOD OF TIME AND IT HAPPEN AGAIN EVEN AFTER REPLACING A NEW BATTERY, STARTER AND ALTERNATOR I ALSO TAKEN IT TO DEALER SHIP TO RUN DIAGNOSING TEST AS WELL AND THEY CHARGE ME FOR SERVICE ALTHOUGH THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH CHARGING SYSTEM AT ALL .BUT THIS OCCUR DURING THE BUSY TIME OFF THE DAY AND A LOT OF TRAFFIC
I WAS DRIVING MY 2007 CHEVY IMPALA IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD AT 25 MPH, AND WHEN I WAS GETTING READY TO STOP AT A STOP SIGN, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SHAKE BADLY WITH THE CODE "ENGINE LOSING POWER." LUCKILY, I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND TURN THE CAR OFF. BEING 68 YEARS OLD, I GOT EXTREMELY SCARED. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND TRIED CALLING 2 OF MY CHILDREN TO HELP ME. NOT BEING ABLE TO GET EITHER ONE OF THEM. I TURNED THE CAR BACK ON, AND PROCEEDED BACK HOME WHICH WAS ONLY ABOUT A HALF MILE FROM MY HOUSE. I CALLED THE PREVIOUS OWNER, AND SHE STATED THAT HAD HAPPENED TO HER ABOUT 6 MONTHS PRIOR. NOW I AM TERRIFIED TO TAKE IT OUT ON THE MAIN HIGHWAY. THE CAR ONLY HAS 70,000 MILES ON IT AND HAD BEEN GARAGED KEPT. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME REGARDING WHY THIS MIGHT HAVE HAPPENED. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE LOCAL AUTO ZONE CHECKED THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR AND DETERMINED THAT BOTH WERE IN PROPER WORKING ORDER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V355000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 177,606.
SLIPPING FROM 1ST GEAR TO 2ND THEN STALLED GOT BUMPED LUCKY NOT FAST SPEED LEAVING FROM RED LIGHT
DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BELT LATCH MALFUNCTIONING. BUCKLE WILL NOT INSERT PROPERLY. THIS IS THE SECOND IMPALA MY FAMILY HAD THAT HAD THIS PROBLEM. IT APPEARS A SPRING CLIP OF METAL COMES OUT OR BREAKS OFF INHIBITING THE INSERTION OF THE BUCKLE.THE FIRST 2 IMAGES ARE OF THE DEFECTIVE BUCKLE. THE THIRD IMAGE IS OF A WORKING PROPERLY BUCKLE( PASSENGER SIDE)
THE WIRING UNDER THE GEAR SHIFTER BROKE CAUSING THE IGNITION CYLINDER TO NOT TURN OFF SO YOU CAN'T REMOVE THE KEY WITCH IN TURN MADE THE CAR GO INTO THEFT MODE NOW IT WON'T START THE WINDOWS WON'T ROLL UP THE DASH LIGHTS WORK AND THE HORN BUT NOTHIN ELSE WORKS THE TRUNK WON'T OPEN IT WAS PARKED AT THE HOSPITAL
TRANSMISSION TENDS TO LONG SHIFT AT 1ST AND 2ND GEARS CAUSING ERRATIC SHIFTING UPHILL AND SOMETIMES TURNS. UNSAFE! JASPER ENGINES AND TRANSMISSIONS DID UPDATE FOR CLUTCH PLATES AND PRESSURE SOLENOID FOR THIS IS KNOWN TO BE A PROBLEM. HESITATED ACCELERATION WHIM GOING UPHILL. FIRST TRANS WAS INSTALLED IN 2016 OCTOBER
CAR HAS HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS EVEN AFTER BEING FIXED. ONLY HAD CAR FOR FEW MONTHS AND BARLEY CAN DRIVE IT.
TAKATA RECALL. IGNITION KEY STAYS STUCK WON'T RELEASE KEY I'VE SEEN SO MANY COMPLAINTS ON THIS ISSUE AND THE GAS CAP MAKES ENGINE LIGHT COME ON WHAT'S GOING ON!!! I'M ON 2ND GAS CAP
I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM AND I KNOW A LOT OF OTHERS ARE HAVING IT TOO. WHEN I'M DRIVING THE CAR'S CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME ON WILL RANDOMLY AND CODE SAYING ENGINE POWER REDUCED. MY CAR'S ENGINE POWER WILL REDUCE AND I WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO ACCELERATE AND THE CAR SLOWS DOWN. THIS HAPPENS AT RANDOM TIMES: ON THE FREEWAY, IN TOWN, AT STOP LIGHTS, GOING UP HILLS, ON FLAT GROUND, WHEN I FIRST TURN MY CAR ON, AFTER DRIVING FOR 5 HOURS. THERE IS NO PATTERN. AFTER I TURN MY CAR OFF FOR A COUPLE MINUTES, THE LIGHT TURN OFF AND MY CAR RUNS OK AGAIN. IT HAPPEN AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK, BUT SOMETIMES 4 OR 5 TIMES WEEK.
WHEN DRIVING IT SHIFTS HARD FROM FIRST GEAR TO SECOND GEAR MOSTLY ON A GRADE NOT TO STEEP SHIFTS SO HARD IT CHIRPS TIRES WHEN IT ENGAGES INTO SECOND GEAR FLUID IS ON CORRECT LEVEL .IT HAPPENS AT A STOP SIGN OR LIGHT NORMAL DRIVING I DO NOT DRIVE FAST OR ACCELERATE QUICKLY. IM IN PROCESS OF GETTING IT CHECKED IM NOT DRIVING CAR TOO MUCH RIGHT NOW BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE NOW 132.222 MILES ON CAR.

MY CAR HAS HAD THE POWER STEERING RACK REPLACED 3 TIMES WITHIN A 6 MONTHS TIME FRAME. MY TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED AND IT SEEMS TO BE SLIPPING AGAIN I HAVE HAD IT REPLACED UNDER A YEAR AGO. I WAS DRIVING WHEN I NOTICED MY CAR SLIPPING FROM 11ST FEAR INTO SECOND. THE DEFROST DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY AND ALL WINDOWS ARE FROZEN MAKING IT UNSAFE TO DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE.

WHEN TAKING OF FROM A COMPLETE STOP THE VEHICLE HESITATES TO ACCELERATE AND STARTS TO JERKS AND JUMPS. AND SHIFTS HARD.FEELS LIKE SOMONE JUST REARENDED YOU.HAPPENS ALL THE TIME WHETHER ON A CITY STREET OR MERGING ONTO A HIGHWAY AND ALSO WHILE TURNING .
TAKATA RECALL. I PULLED OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND REALIZED I HAD FORGOTTEN MY PURSE AND WHEN I TRIED TO BACK UP TO GET MY PURSE, THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AND ALMOST GOT STRUCK BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. A FEW MEN CAME TO HELP PUSH THE CAR OUT OF THE ROAD. AFTER CHECKING A FEW RHINGS, THEY TOLD ME THAT MY TRANSMISSION HAD GONE OUT.
I DID NOT KNOW WHO TO REPORT THIS TO OR I WOULD HAVE DONE THIS ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO. EVERY DAY WHEN IT IS THE FIRST TIME TO DRIVE THE CAR FOR THE DAY, I HAVE TROUBLE GETTING THE DRIVERS SIDE SEATBELT TO LATCH. IT DOES NOT LATCH FOR MY FIRST ATTEMPT. BUT IT MAY TAKE A FEW TIMES BEFORE IT FINALLY DOES. I HAVE BEEN VERY CONCERNED THAT AT SOME POINT IT WILL NOT LATCH AT ALL OR THAT I MAY NOT BE ABLE TO UNLATCH IT. I DO NOT WANT TO DRIVE WITHOUT THE SEATBELT. THERE ARE TIMES WHEN I HAVE MY GRANDCHILDREN WITH ME SO THIS IS A CONCERN FOR ME. MY HUSBAND PURCHASED A DEVISE TO CUT THE BELT IF NECESSARY. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THIS SITUATION CAN BE RESOLVED BEFORE SOMETHING HAPPENS FOR THE DRIVER OF THE CAR.

AFTER, APPROXIMATELY 5 TO 10 MINUTES, THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND OPERATED NORMALLY. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE WAS LEAKING COOLANT AND OIL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKETS FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,000.
'ENGINE POWER REDUCED', APPEARING AT RANDOM TIMES WHEN THE VEHICLE STARTS STUTTERING AND BECOMING UNDRIVABLE.

A WARNING INDICATOR WITH A QUESTION MARK APPEARED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND A NEW POWER STEERING SYSTEM WAS INSTALLED; HOWEVER, THE STEERING FAILED AGAIN ALONG WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WAS REPAIRED LATER. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,000.
I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2007 CHEVY IMPALA, 3 WEEKS AFTER PURCHASE WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY, THE CAR SUDDENLY SLOWED DOWN TO A CRAWL, A REDUCED ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON THE DASH, BEING AS WE WERE ON THE HIGHWAY TO SUDDENLY ONLY BEING ABLE TO GO 20MPH WAS VERY FRIGHTENING!! I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR TO THE SIDE AND HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED HOME. AFTER SEARCHING THIS ISSUE ONLINE I FOUND THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS FROM PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE WITH THIS SAME CAR. I FIND IT STRANGE THERE WAS NOT A RECALL FOR THIS DUE TO IT BEING A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. AFTER CALLING A CHEVY DEALER, THEY TOLD ME ALL THEY COULD DO IS HOOK IT UP FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTS BUT IT WOULD COST 175.00 JUST TO DO THAT. THIS VEHICLE IS STILL PARKED AND WE ARE UNABLE TO DRIVE IT AND STILL HAVE NO IDEA WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT. I'M VERY CONCERNED ABOUT DRIVING IT AGAIN FOR FEAR OF THIS HAPPENING AGAIN AND US MAYBE NOT BEING AS LUCKY NEXT TIME!!!! SERIOUS ISSUE WITH THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE. SIMPLY TYPE IN 'REDUCED ENGINE POWER' MAKE MODEL AND YEAR OF CAR AND MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS SAME ISSUE!!!!
CAR RANDOMLY DISPLAYS REDUCED ENGINE POWER. ON INTERSTATE REDUCED DOWN TO 20MPH COULD HAVE GOTTEN MY FAMILY KILLED. RESEARCHED ONLINE ALOT OF IMAPALA HAVING SAME ISSUE. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS
VEHICLE IN MOTION AT 70 MILES PER HOUR, VEHICLE SHUT OFF AND LOST POWER STEERING, BRAKING, AND NEARLY CAUSING A FATAL COLLISION ON A HIGHWAY OVERPASS. ERRORS ON DASH STATED THROTTLE DISABLED STOP ENGINE, OIL PRESSURE LOW ENGINE POWER REDUCED. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION THERE WAS A RECALL (EXPIRED?) FOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR DUE TO FAULTY SOLDERING.
TAKATA RECALL , IT MAKES A VIBRATION NOISE & WON'T GO OVER 40MPH
SINCE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE AS A USED AUTO ON JAN 24, 2012, I HAVE HAD 10 INCIDENTS OF TIRE PROBLEMS, AS LOW AIR, FLAT TIRE, ETC CAUSED BY WHEEL RIMS CORRODING CAUSING BEADS ON RIM AND NOT HOLD AIR PRESSURE; HAVE REPLACED 30 LUG NUTS; AND GROUND RIMS APPROX 12 TIMES. AM TOLD THAT THE RAPID DETERIORATION OF THE RIMS TO CORROSION IS DUE TO ROAD SALT MIX USED ON LOCAL AND INTERSTATE ROADS. APPEARS THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DESIGNED FOR THIS AREA; FEAR IS WHEN A TIRE GOES, IT COULD BE AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. ALSO HAVE DISCOVERED THE ALUMINUM BODIES OF THE CARS ARE RUSTING MUCH QUICKER.
