TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S, FRONT AND BACK PASSENGER'S SIDE SEAT BELTS FAILED TO LATCH TO THE BUCKLE. IN ADDITION, THE PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
MODERN VEHICLE DESIGN HAS INCREASED OCCUPANT SAFETY IN EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. THE OTHER SIDE OF THIS COIN IS A DECREASED ABILITY TO AVOID ACCIDENTS. BLIND SPOTS CAUSED BY HUGE WINDSHIELD POSTS AND REAR VIEW MIRRORS (INSIDE AND OUT), HEADRESTS POKING UP AND A SEAT BELTS THAT HOLD YOU IN POSITION TO LOOK STRAIGHT AHEAD....ALL THESE CONTRIBUTED TO OUR CAR HITTING A GUY-WIRE FOR A POWER POLE. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE "SCENE" AND THE GUY-WIRE AND WINDSHIELD POST ARE EXACTLY THE SAME ANGLE, THE GUY-WIRE NOT BEING IN THE DRIVER'S FIELD OF VISION. THE CAR IS BEING REPAIRED RIGHT NOW (TO THE TUNE OF $1250.00, JUST FOR A HEADLIGHT AND TUPPERWARE BUMPER COVER). IT COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF WE'D HAD THE SERVICES OF A NASCAR SPOTTER UP ON THE ROOF OF THE VFW! THERE.....I VENTED. *TR
CHEVY BLEND DOOR ACTUATOR HAS FAILED TWICE. CURRENTLY ON MY THIRD ACTUATOR. CAUSES A CLICKING NOISE IN THE PASSENGER SIDE GLOVE COMPARTMENT AREA. OCCURS WHEN EVER THE AC MODE IS CHANGED, THE INCAR/OUTSIDE CAR AIR IS CHANGED OR WHEN CAR IS TURNED OFF. THE CLICKING LASTS FOR A FEW MOMENTS. SEEMS TO BE A POSSIBILITY OF FIRE OR FLYING PARTS FROM BROKEN GEARS. *TR
WHEN I PUT MY CAR IN PARK I CANNOT GET THE KEY TO DISENGAGE FROM THE IGNITION SO THAT I AM ABLE TO TAKE THE KEY OUT. I HAVE TRIED JIGGLING THE GEAR SHIFT ETC AND IT WILL NOT COME OUT REGARDLESS OF WHAT I TRY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT END MADE A LOUD WINNING NOISE AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE CONTACT'S PERSONAL MECHANIC INSPECTED THE POWER STEERING FLUID AND FOUND THAT THE POWER STEERING FLUID WAS FOAMING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, WHICH LOCATED THE FAILURE AT THE STEERING RACK AND PINION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT ALSO WANTED TO STATE THAT THE STEERING WHEEL INTERMEDIATED SHAFT WAS REPLACED AT 43,798 MILES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET MY CAR BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN AND THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED TO TIGHTEN UP. I LOOKED DOWN AND NOTICED THAT THE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. THE IGNITION KEY WAS TURNED ON, THE RADIO STILL PLAYING, ALL LIGHTS ON - BUT THE CAR WAS NOT ON. THE CAR WAS SHUT DOWN. I THEN ATTEMPTED TO START THE CAR UP AND IT WOULD NOT START. GIVING ME A CLICKING NOISE WITH NO ALERTS ON IN THE CAR. AFTER A FEW TRIES, THE CAR STARTED BACK UP AND I PARKED IT BACK AT HOME. THE SECOND TIME, THE CAR HAD BEEN SITTING FOR ABOUT 45 MINS AND WOULD NOT START. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS I GOT MY CAR TO START, BUT I WAS NOT ABLE TO GO ONE MINUTE WITHOUT IT CUTTING OFF WHILE TURNING CORNER. THIS WAS THE 2ND TIME THE CAR STOPPED/SHUT DOWN WHILE IN DRIVE. THE NEXT TIME I WAS ACTUALLY TAKING THE CAR TO THE SHOP AND I DROVE ABOUT 3 MINS BEFORE IT SHUT OFF AND TOOK SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO START THE CAR. I HAVE SMALL CHILDREN AND FOR MY CAR TO CONTINUOUSLY STOP WHILE DRIVING IS A HUGE PROBLEM!! I HAVE BEEN FORTUNATE ENOUGH FOR IT NOT TO HAVE STOPPED ON A HIGHWAY OR ANYTHING, BUT THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND NO ONE, NOT EVEN THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER HAS BEEN ABLE TO FIND WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED!! MY CAR HAS STOPPED WHILE IN DRIVE 5 TIMES IN TWO WEEKS, WHILE I HAVE BEEN DRIVING, AND 3 TIMES WHILE SITTING IDLE. *TR
I WAS APPROACHING A RED LIGHT WHERE A FLAT BED TRUCK WAS STOPPED AND I WENT TO STOP BEHIND HIM. AT FIRST THE CAR STARTED TO SLOW WHEN I PRESSED THE BRAKE AND THEN AS IF I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE PEDAL THE CAR STOPPED STOPPING AND CRASHED INTO THE BACK OF THE TOW TRUCK. THIS WAS NOT THE FIRST TIME NOR THE LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED BUT IT WAS THE WORST TIME AND I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR NOW. I SEE THE NUMBER OF POSTS ON THE INTERNET, HUNDREDS OF FORUMS, COMPLAINING ABOUT THE WOBBLING OR VIBRATION THAT OCCURS UPON BREAKING. THE BREAKS WERE CHANGED WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR IN FEBRUARY AND IT DIDN'T TAKE LONG FOR THE SYMPTOMS TO APPEAR UNTIL FINALLY I CRASHED THE CAR. THE ABS NOR BRAKE LIGHT COME ON. IT SEEMS THAT WHILE GM WAS GOING BROKE IN 2004 THROUGH 2007 THEY DECIDED CHEAPER PARTS WERE A VIABLE SOLUTION TO THEIR OBVIOUS BRINK OF BANKRUPTCY. AND YET WHEN WE THE AMERICAN TAX PAYERS PAID $49.5 MILLION DOLLARS TO BAIL GM OUT OF DEBT IN DECEMBER OF 2008 THEY NEVER EVEN CONSIDERED RECALLING THE VEHICLES WITH THE UNSAFE BRAKING SYSTEMS ON THEM. IRONICALLY THE POLICE CARS MADE BY GM HAVE AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT SYSTEM, A SAFER SYSTEM WAS INSTALLED. SADLY? AS LONG AS THEY STILL OWE THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT $49.5 MILLION, THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT WILL NOT FORCE GM TO RECALL THESE CARS WITH THE UNSAFE BRAKING SYSTEMS BECAUSE IT WILL FORCE THEM INTO ANOTHER BANKRUPTCY. GM IS NOW SOLIDLY PROFITABLE, ITS CARS HAVE IMPROVED, AND IT HAS CREATED 23,000 NEW U.S. JOBS SINCE EXITING BANKRUPTCY IN 2009 WHY AREN'T THEY CORRECTING THEIR WRONGS AND WHY AREN'T THEY PAYING BACK THE $49.5 MILLION THEY OWE US? WHEN YOU GOOGLE 2007 (OR ANY YEAR BETWEEN 2006 - 2008) IMPALA LT BRAKE PROBLEMS IT'S ALARMING TO SEE THE HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF FORUMS AND COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME EXACT ISSUE. *TR
THIS ISSUE OCCURS WHEN TURNING DURING LOW SPEEDS WHICH INCLUDES PULLING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, PARKING SPOTS AND INTERSECTIONS. WHEN I TURN THE STEERING WHEEL TO MAKE A TURN, THE ABS ENGAGES WHICH CAUSES A REDUCTION OF POWER AND FORCED BRAKING. THIS HAPPENS DURING ANY TYPE OF WEATHER AND ON ANY TYPE OF SURFACE PAVEMENT, THE CAR IS NOT EXPERIENCING ANY REAL LOSS OF TRACTION, THE ABS SIMPLY IS ENGAGING IN ERROR. THIS HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BECOME INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS, IF THIS WERE TO OCCUR AT AN INOPPORTUNE TIME, MY CARS ABS MAY ENGAGE WHILE I AM AT AN INTERSECTION, OR MAKING A LEFT TURN WHILE TRAFFIC IS ONCOMING. IF THE ABS WERE TO ENGAGE I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO AVOID COLLISION. *TR

THIS IS AN ADDITION TO COMPLAINT #10515524 AND 10519582. I WENT BACK TO PARKS CHEVROLET TO GET A BREAK DOWN FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE CHEVROLET ABOUT MY IMPALA. DEALER STATED THAT THE BOOT AT STEERING COLUM NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND WILL LUBRICATE AT NO CHARGE WHEN REPLACING POWER STEERING RACK $830.00 PLUS TAX AND ALL WHEEL ALIGMENT $79.95, I HAD WHEEL ALIGMENT DONE APRIL 23, 2013 FOR 79.95 AT DEALERSHIP. ALSO THE CLAPPING NOISE FROM THE AIR CONDITIONER, THE RECIR ACUATOR DOOR IS FAULTY EST PRICE $271.00. THIS IS FROM THE MANUFACTOR WHEN CAR WAS ASSEMBLED. WHEN WILL YOU HAVE THEM TO RECALL THESE 2007 IMPALA'S. *TR
EVERY TIME I TURN THE HEAT FROM THE AIR CONDITIONING, AND VICE VERSA, IT MAKES A LOUD CLICK CLACKING SOUND THAT LASTS FOR ABOUT A MINUTE OR TWO AND IS LOUD ENOUGH TO BE HEARD INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE CAR. VERY EMBARRASSING. OTHERS THAT OWN A SIMILAR VEHICLE HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUES. *TR
I WAS PULLING UP TO THE HOSPITAL TO PICKUP MY HUSBAND WHO HAD SURGERY. AND HAD NO STEERING. HAD IT TOWED IN AND THEY SAID THE RACK AND PINION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. COST $800 THEN HAD TO TAKE IT BACK FOR MORE WORK. THE STEERING IS ACTING UP AGAIN. HAS THERE BEEN A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM. ALL THE CARS WE HAVE OWNED AND HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH RACK AND PINION. *TR
THIS IS IN ADDITION TO CLAIM # [XXX]. WHEN I TURN THE HEAT OR AIR CONDITIONER ON AND ADJUST THE KNOBS THERE IS A LOUD CLAPPING SOUND ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DASH BOARD. IT LAST FOR ABOUT FIVE MINUTES THEN STOPS VERY ANNOYING. WHEN WILL THESE CARS BE RECALLED TO FIX THESE PROBLEMS. I HAD BEEN DRIVING FOR ABOUT FIVE HOURS AT SPEEDS OF 70 MPH. STOPPED AT A FAST FOOD PLACE AND PULLED IN TO THE PAY WINDOW AND HEARD A CLUNK. WHEN PULLING AWAY FROM THE WINDOW MAKING A SLIGHT LEFT TURN, THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL LOCKED 70 DEGREES RIGHT AND I STOPPED. TOWED TO A CHEVY DEALER AND HE INFORMED ME THE TIE ROD TO THE WHEEL STRIPPED OUT OF THE CONNECTOR ROD BOLT. THE STRIPPED PORTION WAS ABOUT 1 AND A QUARTER INCHES. THIS HAD TO TAKE A WHILE TO STRIP OUT WITH NO INDICATIONS OF A PROBLEM BEFORE HAND AND THE ALIGNMENT HAD APPEARED TO STILL BE FINE. I HAVE THE TWO COMPONENTS AND CAN SEND PICTURES OR THE COMPONENTS THEMSELVES. *TR
I NOTICE A FUNNY SOUND WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL. I DROVE OVER TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT IT. I WAS TOLD THE POWER STEERING RACK SEALS ARE STARTING TO LEAK. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT THAT A LOT OF 2007 IMPALA'S IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM IN DIFFERENT STATES. I SEE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS TO NHTSA BUT NO ONE IS REQUESTING A RECALL TO FIX THIS PROBLEM I CAN NOT UNDERSTANDING WHY. GMC IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP I HAVE TO PAY $830.00 + TAX TO REPLACE THE POWER STEERING RACK, SHOULD NOT GMC PAY FOR THIS SINCE THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM OR DO SOMEONE HAVE TO LOSE THEIR LIFE WHEN THE STEERING FREEZES UP. I HAD A PROBLEM WITH REAR END SUSPENSION WEARING OUT THREE SET OF TIRES THREE YEARS AGO AT ONLY 5000 MILES. I HAD TO GO THROUGH A LOT TO GET THAT FIXED. I'VE CONTACTED GMC ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND WAITING FOR THEIR RESPONSE. PLEASE HAVE THESE CARS RECALLED. THANK YOU *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STARTED THE IGNITION AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER THREE TIMES FOR THE SAME DEFECT. THE FUEL CAP WAS REPLACED AND THE COMPUTERIZED SYSTEM WAS REPROGRAMMED ON THE FIRST VISIT. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NO FAILURE THE SECOND TIME THE FAILURE RECURRED AND ON THE THIRD RECURRENCE OF THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE EPA CANISTER WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,000.

STARTED MY VEHICLE AS I WENT TO PULL OFF TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE MY CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE/PICK UP ON SPEED. THE CAR STARTED PUTTING. I PULLED OVER BECAUSE THE CAR WOULD NO LONGER MOVE, BUT WAS STILL RUNNING. MY SISTER PUSH ME BUMPER TO BUMPER TO MY MECHANIC ONLY TO FIND OUT IT WAS MY THROTTLE BODY. *TR
THE FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT REFLECT THE AMOUNT OF GAS IN THE TANK. IT SAYS FULL TANK WHEN IT IS BUT I RAN OUT OF GAS ON THE INTERSTATE WITH IT READING HALF TANK. DANGEROUS!!! WHEN IT RUNS OUT OF GAS THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WARNING, OH EXCEPT YOU STALL AND HAVE ZERO POWER STEERING. FROM 70 TO 0 IN 2.5SEC. CALLED DEALER AND INQUIRED ABOUT ANY ISSUES WITH GAS GAUGES BECOMING FAULTY AND WAS TOLD BY SERVICE PERSON THAT IT COULD GO BAD BUT HE KNOWS NO KNOWN ISSUES WITH FAULTY GAS GAUGES FOR CHEVY. LOOKED ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND PAGES AND PAGES OF DOCUMENTED FUEL/GAS GAUGE MALFUNCTIONS STRANDING DRIVERS. IF THEY THINK IGNORANCE IS BLISS THEN I HAVE MANY OTHER BRANDS OF VEHICLES TO CHOOSE FROM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
CHEVROLET IMPALA DISPLAYS EXCESSIVE WEAR ON THE INSIDE OF THE REAR TIRES. I AM ASSUMING IT IS THE REAR TIRES AS ONLINE SEARCHES DESCRIBE THE SAME CONDITION AFFECT THE REAR TIRES. THE TIRES WERE ROTATED EVERY TIME THE OIL WAS CHANGED, SO THE FRONT TIRES SHOW SOME WEAR BUT NOT NEARLY THE SAME AMOUNT OF DAMAGE. IT IS MY GUESS THIS WEARING STARTED BEFORE THE MOST RECENT TIRE ROTATION. THE TIRES ARE WORN TO THE POINT THE CORDS ARE SHOWING ALONG THE INSIDE OF THE REAR TIRES. THE TIRE IS VERY ROUNDED ON THE INSIDE EDGE OF EACH TIRE WHILE THE OUTSIDE EDGE OF EACH TIRE LOOKS LIKE THEY DID WHEN NEW. THE TIRES ARE MICHELIN HYDROEDGE TIRES WITH APPROXIMATELY 50,000 MILES, THEY ARE RATED FOR 90,000 MILES. ONLINE INFORMATION SAYS THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH THE SPINDLE RODS. THERE IS A PENDING CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST "NEW GM" TO HONOR DESIGN PROBLEMS OF "OLD GM." GM ORDER A RECALL ON ALL POLICE IMPALAS FROM 2007-2008 WITHIN A VIN RANGE TO REPLACE THE SPINDLE RODS. BULLETIN NO. 08032A. ALSO SEARCH DOCUMENT PIC5406A FOR MORE INFORMATION. THIS IS A SEVERE SAFETY PROBLEM WHICH COULD LEAD TO TIRE FAILURE WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE.!!! *TR
AFTER STOPPING, I PUSH ON THE ACCELERATOR, THE ENGINE REVS BUT THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT ENGAGE, AFTER TWO SECONDS THE CAR WILL SLAM INTO GEAR AND VIOLENTLY LURCH FORWARD. POWERFUL ENOUGH TO STRAIN MY NECK. VERY DANGEROUS. *TR
CAR BUCKS WHEN GOING FROM 0 MPH. BROUGHT CAR INTO DEALER SEVERAL TIMES THEY CHECKED IT OUT. THEY DIDN'T FIND A PROBLEM BUT CAR STILL BUCKS. SPOKE TO OTHER OWNERS, THEY HAVE SAME PROBLEM. NO RESPONSE FROM GENERAL MOTORS THAT THE PROBLEM EXISTS. PROBLEM STARTED AT @30000 MILES. CAR HAS 68000 MILES NOW.

THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED EXTREME DIFFICULTY IN MAINTAINING CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MERGED TO THE ROAD SHOULDER, POWERED OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING PRESSURE LINE HOSE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 175,284.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 78,000.

I HAD ALL BRAKE PADS REPLACED AT DEALER ON 1/3/2013. 2/7/2013 I WAS IN TRAFFIC AND THE CAR SUDDENLY SLOWS TO ABOUT 10 MPH AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE THE DASH THEN DISPLAYED "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. ON 2/14/2013, I HAD THE THROTTLE POSITIONING SENSOR REPLACED AND AT THE SAME TIME HAD THE REAR DEFROST WIRING REPAIRED BECAUSE THAT HAD NOT BEEN WORKING FOR OVER A YEAR. ON 3/4/2013 THE CAR WOULD NOT START BY THE FACTORY REMOTE START, SO WENT OUT AND STARTED THE CAR WITH THE KEY, WHEN I RETURNED TO THE CAR THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AT ALL THE CHIME WOULD SOUND THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH FLASHED BUT NO START. I WAITED A FEW MINUTES THEN TRIED AGAIN, THE CAR STARTED BRIEFLY (50 SECONDS) "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" APPEARED ON THE DASH THEN IT SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY. I LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD SAW THE BATTERY ATTACHMENT WAS LOOSE, TIGHTENED THAT UP AND THEN THE CAR STARTED UP. HOWEVER, THE CAR RADIO (FACTORY RADIO NEVER REPLACED), THE CHIME, OR THE TICKING OF THE TURNING SIGNALS NO LONGER WORK. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT WITH DEALER ON 3/14/13, BUT THE CAR SEEMS TO BE FAILING ALL AROUND. IN READING CHEVY/GM FORUMS, THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF CHEVY OWNERS EXPERIENCING THESE SAME ISSUES, CHEVY/GM NEEDS TO TAKE OWNERSHIP AND INVESTIGATE THESE VEHICLES TO DETERMINE THE ROOT CAUSE OF THE PROBLEMS. I AM A LICENSED MASTER ELECTRICIAN, HAVE AN AAS DEGREE IN ELECTRONICS TECHNOLOGY AND AS A HOBBY HAVE BEEN DOING AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR FOR 45 YEARS. THIS PART SHOULD NEVER HAVE LEFT THE FACTORY. I CONTACTED GM AND THEY SIMPLY SAID THE PART IS NOT ON OUR RECALL LIST SO WE WILL NOT REIMBURSE YOU OR LOOK INTO THIS ANY FURTHER. I HAVE THE PART. 2007 IMPALA SS THAT I HAVE OWNED SINCE APRIL 2011 AND BOUGHT WITH 24,000 MILES.THE PROBLEM IS WITH REAR TIRES ON THE CAR WEARING WITIHIN ONE MONTH AFTER REPLACING, THE INSTALATION OF TIRES IS FOLLOWED BY A PROFESSIONAL ALIGNMENT AND THE TIRES STILL WEAR DOWN TO THE WIRES. I HAVE BEEN THROUGH SEVERAL SETS OF TIRES AND ALIGNMENTS SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR AND HAVE NOT YET FOUND A FIX OTHER THAN TIRES AND ALIGNMENT. DOCUMENTS HAVE INDICATED THAT THERE ARE BAD REAR SPINDLE RODS ON THE REAR OF THE CAR THAT GM HAS AKNOWLEDGED ARE PRESENT AND GM FAILED TO REPAIR THEM ON ALL 2007-2008 IMPALAS WITH THE EXCEPTION OF POLICE VEHICLES (APPROXIMATELY 23,000 POLICE DUTY CARS OUT OF 450,000+ AFFECTED). GM WILL NOT REPLACE THESE UNDER WARRANTY AND I CANNOT FIND A REPAIR FOR THE ISSUE. THE CAR WILL SLIP OUT OF ALIGNMENT WITHIN A FEW DAYS OR WEEKS AND CAUSE VERY DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITIONS IF DRIVEN ON RAIN, SNOW OR ANY SLIPPERY SURFACE, CAUSING THE CAR TO SWAY IN THE REAR, HYDROPLANE AND EVEN LOSE CONTROL.
