THIS HAPPEN A FEW MONTHS AGO 2 TIMES AND AGAIN TODAY WHILE DRIVING THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP THIS IS VERY SCARY AND SOMEBODY IS GOING TO GET HURT. DO SOMETHING BEFORE IT HAPPENS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE, THE VEHICLE HESITATED AND JERKED FORWARD. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO GREGG YOUNG CHEVROLET (17750 BURT ST, OMAHA, NE 68118, (402) 509-3028) TWICE, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. ON ONE OCCASION, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE LURCHED FORWARD AND CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT TURNED IN FRONT OF THE CONTACT. THE CRASH WAS A T-BONE COLLISION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT AND OTHER DRIVER WERE INJURED AND TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL FOR MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HUBER CADILLAC (11102 W DODGE RD, OMAHA, NE 68154, (402) 496-5400), BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP, SPARK PLUGS, COIL, AND FUEL INJECTOR (TWICE); HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE, I WENT TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN AND THE TRACTION CONTROL SERVICE MESSAGE APEARD ALONG WITH ABS LITE AND ENGINE REDUCTION CAUSEING MY VEHICLE TO ALMOST STALL OUT ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY.
HELLO, ONLY HAD MY CAR 2 YEARS AND NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS..MY BIGGEST CONCERN IS THIS LIGHT THAT'S KEEPS COMING ON AND SAYS "ENGINE POWER REDUCED" AND KICKS MY CARS DOWN BETWEEN 20 AND 40 MILES PER HOUR..HUGE SAFETY ISSUE TO ME. I WAS DRIVING WITH MY 3 CHILDREN ON THE HIGHWAYS WHEN OUT OF NOWHERE MY CAR REDUCED TO 20 MILES ON THE HIGHWAY!!! I WAS SCARED AS WELL AS MY CHILDREN AND HAD TO EXIT THE HIGHWAY AS SAFELY AS POSSIBLE. NOW I HAVE DONE SOME INVESTIGATION ABOUT THIS AND SEE MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES HOW HORRIBLE. WHY IS THERE NOT A RECALL FOR THIS? MY LIFE AND MY CHILDREN'S LIVES ARE A FACTOR AND IT'S TERRIFYING THAT NOTHING IS GETTING DONE ABOUT THIS BUT IS KNOWN BY THE MAKERS OF THIS VEHICLE..PLEASE I WOULD LIKE SOME ANSWERS AND SOMETHING DONE ABOUT THIS. I AM A NURSE OUT HERE SAVING LIVES EVERYDAY AND I CAN'T JUST AFFORD TO KEEP TRYING TO FIX A PROBLEM WITH A CAR THAT NOBODY HAS A REAL ANSWER ON WHY IT'S DOING THIS. THIS HAS HAPPEN 2 TIMES SINCE I BOUGHT IT IN FEB. WHEN I WAS STEERING TO THE LEFT IT WOULDN'T TURN LIKE THE STEERING COLUMN WAS LOCKED FOR ABOUT 15 SECOND AND THEN IT'S FINE. THANK GOD BOTH TIMES I WAS TURNING AND NOT AT A HIGH SPEED.
VEHICLE STUCK IN PARK UNABLE TO SHIFT FROM THE PARKED POSITION. PARKED IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE WENT TO GO PICK DAUGHTER UP FROM SCHOOL AND COULDN'T SHIFT GEARS.
STOPPED DURING OUT-OF-STATE TRIP AND THEN ESC SENSOR LITE CAME ON AND CAR WOULD ONLY GO 20 MPH. GM DEALER IN NASHVILLE NOT MUCH HELP. REPEATED PUSHING OF TC/ESC BUTTON FINALLY CLEARED FAULT. NOW HESITANT TO DRIVE THIS CAR. LAST GM CAR THAT I WILL EVER OWN.
VEHICLE HAS 65,937 MILES AND FAILED NC INSPECTION DUE TO EXCESSIVE PLAY IN BOTH FRONT HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLIES. NO STEERING PROBLEMS NOTED PRIOR TO THIS INSPECTION. DEALER STATED THEY HAVE REPLACED SOME ASSEMBLIES BUT HAD NOT BEEN MADE AWARE BY CHEVROLET THIS WAS A PROBLEM NOR HAS ANY RECALL BEEN INITIATED. WITH SO FEW MILES AND A DEFECT SO POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SOME FORM OF NOTIFICATION TO VEHICLE OWNERS OF MODELS USING THIS TYPE OF ASSEMBLY SHOULD BE NOTIFIED.
ENGINE OIL LEAKS, VALVE COVER GASKETS, HEAD GASKETS, OIL PAN GASKET. CAN SMELL BURNING OIL WHEN DRIVING & PARKED. AFTER DRIVING.
I PURCHASED A 2008 CHEVY IMPALA LTZ FROM A REPUTABLE CERTIFIED USED CAR DEALERSHIP (MERROLIS CHEVROLET 9 MILE AND GRATIOT). I ALSO HAD A WARRANTY. IN LESS THAN TWO MONTHS I HAD A SERVICE INVOICE FOR OVER 1300.00 THE CAR NEEDED A AIRBAG COIL REPLACEMENT (477.00) STEERING DIFFICULTIES. ALSO. THE CONVERTER NEEDED REPLACEMENT (877.00). THIS MAKES THE CAR SOUND LIKE IT NEEDS A NEW MUFFLER. I COMPLAINED TO THE MANAGER IN SERVICE AND I'M AWAITING A RESPONSE 11-13-15. HE WAS SUPPOSED TO CALL ME BACK ON FRIDAY 11-13-15 BUT DID NOT.

THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A FRACTURED COLLAR BONE AND BRUISES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DEEMED DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET IMPALA EQUIPPED WITH GOODYEAR GPS2 TIRES, SIZE: P225/75R15. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE TIRES WERE SEPARATED FROM THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE WALL OF THE TIRE. IN ADDITION, THERE WAS TREAD SEPARATION AND THE TIRES EXHIBITED BUBBLES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT NEW TIRES WERE NEEDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE DOT NUMBER WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE TIRE AND VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR MY CAR STALLED AS IF IT WAS IN NEUTRAL. I STOPPED AND TRIED TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK, BUT NOTHING HAPPENED. I TRIED REVERSE AND THE CAR WOULDN'T MOVE. IT CRAKES UP BUT THERE ARE NO SHIFTING OF GEARS. I HAD TO REPLACE MY GAS TANK AS WELL AS MY PEDALS FOR THIS CAR. PLEASE HELP.
(REDUCED ENGINE POWER) MY 2008 CHEVY IMPALA RANDOMLY SHOWS DOWN AFTER THE DASH READS REDUCED ENGINE POWER. I AM LUCKY TO BE ALIVE I WAS DOING ABOUT 60 ON THE EXPRESSWAY AND THE CAR SPEED JUST DROPPED TO 20MPH I HAD TO SWERVE BECAUSE THE CAR BEHIND COULD NOT SLOW DOWN IN TIME. MY TWO YEAR OLD WAS IN THE CAR AND I HEAR THAT GM CARS HAVE THIS PROBLEM ALL THE TIME. THIS IS RIDICULOUSLY DANGEROUS SOMEONE HAS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. THE GM DEALERSHIP HAS NO IDEAL HOW TO FIX THIS.
MY KEY IS STUCK IN THE IGNITION. I AM FORCED TO DISCONNECT BATTERY & HOPE THAT NOBODY GOES LOOKING THROUGH MY CAR OR ATTEMPTS TO STEAL IT. MY SECOND COMPLAINT IS KNOCKING SOUND COMING FROM MY HVAC. IT WILL HAPPEN WETHER CAR IS IN OR OFF.

IN ADDITION, THE SERVICE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED FREQUENTLY FOLLOWED BY A DRASTIC REDUCTION IN SPEED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT HAD TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD EACH TIME THE FAILURE RECURRED, TURN OFF THE VEHICLE TO RESET THE COMPUTER, AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A REPAIR SHOP WHO WAS NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE AND DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND WAS TO BE TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED NO REMEDY. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,000.

IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO REMOVE THE KEY WHILE IN THE ON POSITION AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V355000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
I WAS ON THE 10 FREEWAY IN LOS ANGELES HEADING WEST IN THE FAR LEFT LANE DOING 65 MILES AN HOUR ALL THE SUDDEN MY CAR LOST POWER DROP DOWN TO 10 MILES AN HOUR WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED. THE ENGINE POWER REDUCED MESSAGE APPEARED ON MY DASHBOARD. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING THEY CAN DO I CONTACT A GM THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T DO NOTHING I WAS READING ON THEIR BLOGS THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH MULTIPLE PEOPLE SO THE YEAH THIS IS A BIG SAFETY CONCERN AND SEEMS TO BE A MANUFACTURING ISSUE. PLEASE HELP!

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY FORCE TO THE STEERING WHEEL IN ORDER TO TURN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE RACK AND PINION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,900.
I WAS DRIVING ON A SMALL SIDE STREET ON THE WAY TO PICK MY SON UP FROM SCHOOL. THE STREET IS PRETTY DEEPLY POT HOLED, AND IT HAD BEEN RAINING SO IT WAS ALSO VERY MUDDY. FOR THIS REASON I WAS LUCKILY GOING SLOW. AS I MADE MY WAY THROUGH ONE PARTICULAR LARGE PUDDLE ON A RIGHT HAND CURVE I COULD SEE THAT I WAS GOING TO ALMOST IMMEDIATELY GET INTO THE LEFT LANE TO GO AROUND SOME PARKED CARS. AS SOON AS I WENT TO VEER LEFT THE CAR WOULDN'T BUDGE. IT FELT AS IF THE POWER STEERING HAD SHUT OFF. NO LIGHT CAME ON NO NEW SOUNDS WERE MADE, NOTHING TO INDICATE THAT ANYTHING WAS WRONG. LUCKILY WITH A FEW QUICK PULLS LEFT AND RIGHT ON THE STEERING WHEEL EVERYTHING SEEMED TO BACK I'M WORKING ORDER. VERY VERY SCARY.

WAS ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK AND THE TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING OUT OF GEARS. CAME TO A STOP AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I COULD NOT GO TOWARD. ENGINE JUST REVVED. HAD THE CAR TOWED AND WAS TOLD I NEEDED TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION CONTROL SOLENOID BECAUSE THAT WAS THE ISSUE. HAD PART REPLACED ONLY TO FIND THE TRANNY ITSELF WENT. DID SOME RESEARCH AND IT LOOKS LIKE THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM AND I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE. WHY ISN'T THIS ISSUE OR DEFECT UNDER RECALL WHEN ITS SUCH A COMMON PROBLEM AND VERY COSTLY AS WELL?

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. REAR PASSENGER DOOR LOCKS DO NOT FUNCTION ELECTRICALLY WHEN THE VEHICLE IS WARM. AUTOMATIC LOCK FUNCTION WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PLACED IN 'DRIVE' DOES NOT FUNCTION UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES. DUE TO THE POSITION OF THE MANUAL LOCK RELEASES, IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO MANUALLY UNLOCK THE REAR DOORS MANUALLY. IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION, IF THE REAR DOOR LOCKS DO NOT FUNCTION, IT CAN DELAY ESCAPE FROM THE VEHICLE.
WHEN TAKING OFF THE VEHICLE WOULD JERK INTO GEAR AFTER A SLIGHT SPUTTER. YOU HAVE TO LET THE TRANSMISSION GET FULLY HOT (RUNNING FOR 10-15 MINUTES EVEN ON A HOT DAY) FOR IT NOT TO JERK WHEN PULLING OFF OR LET IT SLIGHTLY COAST BEFORE GIVING GAS TO KEEP FROM JERKING. ONCE IT'S GOOD AND HOT I HAVE NOT SEEN ANY OTHER PROBLEMS.
I WAS GOING NORTH ON SCHOOL STREET I HAD A GREEN LIGHT. I CAR GOING WEST ON ROCKTON RAN THE RED LIGHT AND HIT MY CAR CAUSING ME TO RUN INTO A TREE. I HAD A HEAD CONCUSSIONS AND 6 BROKEN RIBS.MY AIR BAG DID NOT OPEN.
WHILE I WAS DRIVING MY CAR, ABOUT TO ACCELERATE, ALL OF A SUDDEN, A "SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL" MESSAGE CAME ON AND SECONDS AFTER THAT, THERE WAS A "ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED" MESSAGE. AT THIS POINT THERE WAS SOME HESITATION IN THE VEHICLE. I PULLED OVER AND SHUT THE CAR OFF. WHEN I TURNED THE CAR ON, AFTER 2 MINUTES, I RECEIVED THE SAME MESSAGE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY MECHANIC, AND HE COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. I CALLED MY LOCALE GM DEALER AND FOR A "NOMINAL" CHARGE, THEY WOULD TAKE A LOOK AT IT. SINCE THEN, I HAVE RESEARCHED IT ON LINE, AND HAVE FOUND THAT THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE. IT IS A SHAME THAT GM HAS DONE NOTHING TO FIX THIS. I'M GLAD I WAS NOT ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED, AS THE LOSS OF SPEED AND LACK OF ACCELERATION COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT.
TRACTION CONTROL NEEDS SERVICE MESSAGE DISPLAYED, THEN THROTTLE DISABLED MESSAGE DISPLAYED SHUTTING THE ENGINE OFF GOING DOWN THE ROAD. SO THEREFOR NO POWER STEERING, BRAKES ETC . ONCE PULLED ONTO SHOULDER CAR WOULD NOT CRANK. HAD TO WAIT FIVE MINUTES UNTIL THE GAUGES FLICKERED AND THEN CAR WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED. THIS IS HIGHLY DANGEROUS IF NOT WHERE TO PULL OFF OR BEING FOLLOWED CLOSELY. NOT TO MENTION NOT POWER STEERING ASSIST OR BRAKE ASSIST. THIS COULD VERY EASILY CAUSE A CRASH AND THERE FOR SHOULD BE A RECALL ISSUED BEFORE PEOPLE ARE INJURED OR KILLED BY THIS!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE STARTING THROTTLE DISABLED WARNING MESSAGE ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AND RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 166,000.
THE VEHICLE JERKS AFTER TAKE OFF FROM A STOP AND LOSES SPEED IN TRAFFIC.
I WAS DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 81 IN CNY WHEN MY DASH LIT UP AND SAID "SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, REDUCE ENGINE POWER" AT THAT POINT MY CAR WOULD NOT DOWN SHIFT TO ACCELERATE. ABOUT 15 MILES DOWN THE ROAD MY CAR SAID "SERVICE THROTTLE CONTROL SENSOR", AND THE ENGINE SHUT OFF!!! I WAS JUST COMING OUT OF A HUGE WORK ZONE AND I LOST POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES IN THE LEFT LANE OF A 3 LANE HIGHWAY. I MADE MY WAY TO THE SHOULDER AS SAFELY AS I COULD AND WAS UNABLE TO RESTART MY CAR FOR AT LEAST 5 MINUTES!!!!!! 3 DAYS LATER IT DID IT ALL OVER AGAIN ON A COUNTRY ROAD THANKFULLY!!. I REMEMBER THE REDUCE ENGINE POWER SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL HAD ACTED UP ONCE BEFORE IN 2012 RIGHT AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED IMMEDIATELY BEFORE SOMEONES ENGINE SHUTS OFF WHEN THEY ARE GOING FASTER THAN 45!!!!!!
THIS IS THE THIRD TIME SINCE I BOUGHT THIS CAR (NEW) THAT THE WIRING ON THE SHIFT LOCK HAS FAILED. THE PROBLEM IS WELL REPORTED ON THE WEB FOR 2007 AND 2008 IMPALAS. THE CAR HAS BEEN TOWED EACH TIME AND WIRES FIXED . THE COST HAS BEEN RUNNING #300.00 TO $150.00 AND THE FIX LAST ABOUT TWO YEARS,I HAVE GOOGLED THE PROBLEM AND FOUND MANY OTHERS SUFFERING THE SAME PROBLEM,YET YOUR RECALL LOG SHOWS NOTHING.
TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS VEHICLE JERKS HARD AFTER COMING FROM A COMPLETE STOP. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE ON THIS VEHICLE. THIS SAFETY ISSUES CAN BE A DANGER IF VEHICLE IS OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF ON COMING TRAFFIC. THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM AND HAS A ISSUES ON MOST CHEVROLET IMPALAS. THIS PROBLEM HAS ACCORD IN MOVING TRAFFIC. THIS PROBLEM ACCORD THE SECOND MONTH AFTER VEHICLE WAS BOUT FROM DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP SAYS THERE IS NO WARRANTY ON VEHICLE
DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY THE ALERT SIGNAL BEEPED AND MY CONSOLE SHOWED THE ERROR MESSAGE "SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, REDUCING ENGINE POWER" IT DROPPED MY SPEED ON THE HIGHWAY DANGEROUSLY FAST TO 20 MILES PER HOUR. I THE FOOT PEDAL REPLACED AT A LOCAL DEALER, THEN IT HAPPENED 2 MORE TIMES. THE LAST TIME I WAS ON A FRONTAGE ROAD AND MY CAR TURNED OFF. APPARENTLY THIS IS A SENSOR ISSUE THAT IS COMMON TO THE CHEVROLET MODELS AND ESPECIALLY THE IMPALA JUDGING BY THE FORUMS. THIS IS DANGEROUS AS WHEN THE CAR TURNS ITSELF OFF THE POWER STEERING , LIGHTS, EVERYTHING GOES AND IT IS SUDDEN. THE THIRD TIME IT HAPPENED THE ERROR MESSAGE CAME ON AND 3 SECONDS LATER THE CAR TURNED OFF.

I RECENTLY HAD A VENT ACTUATOR FAIL; THE SIGN WAS A LOUD CLICKING NOISE COMING FROM THE FAILED VENT ACTUATOR LOCATED BEHIND THE GLOVE BOX. ACCORDING TO THE INFORMATION THAT I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GATHER, THERE ARE 4 VENT ACTUATORS LOCATED BEHIND THE DASH OF THE VEHICLE. THESE VENT ACTUATORS SEEM TO FAIL ON A REGULAR BASIS FROM COMPLAINTS THAT I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO REVIEW ON THE INTERNET. THESE ARE $25 PARTS, HOWEVER THE LABOR COSTS ARE RIDICULOUS; $300-400 PER VENT ACTUATOR. IF THESE VENT ACTUATORS FAIL AT RANDOM TIMES, THAT IS AT A COST OF UP TO $425 FOR EACH VISIT TO THE DEALER, AND THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT THEY WON'T FAIL ONCE AGAIN. CHEVROLET IS FULLY AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, ACCORDING TO THEIR OWN WEB SITE. HOWEVER, THEY CONTINUE TO CHARGE THE OWNER OF THE VEHICLE THESE OUTRAGEOUS FEES. I AM SEEKING ASSISTANCE IN HAVING CHEVROLET REPLACE ALL THE VENT ACTUATORS WITH A QUALITY PRODUCT; NOTHING LIKE CHEAP CHINESE PLASTIC. IN ADDITION, THEY NEED TO QUIT PASSING THE LABOR COSTS ONTO THE OWNER FOR A PROBLEM THAT THEY REFUSE TO ADDRESS.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AND OUT OF NOWHERE THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND SAID ENGINE REDUCED POWER. THE CAR SEEMED TO SLOW DOWN AND NOT HAVE POWER. IF I CAME TO A STOP AND BEGAN TO DRIVE AGAIN, THE CAR BARELY ACCELERATED AND THE TRANSMISSION JERKED EVERY SINGLE TIME IT SHIFTED. CAME TO GET IN AND UNLOCK CAR WHEN I NOTICED ONLY THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR UNLOCKS. HAD TO CLIMB THROUGH THE CAR (WHILE 5 MONTHS PREGNANT) TO UNLOCK BOTH BACKSEAT DOORS FOR MY NIECE AND INFANT NEPHEW TO GET THEM IN THE CAR. THE 3 LOCKS, BESIDES PASSENGER FRONT, ONLY WORK MAYBE ONCE A WEEK RANDOMLY. I HAVE MY FIRST CHILD ON THE WAY IN NOVEMBER, AND NOW I HAVE TO WORRY IF I WILL HAVE TO SET MY BABY ON THE GROUND DURING WINTER TO CLIMB THROUGH THE CAR TO UNLOCK THE BACK DOOR MANUALLY.

I HAVE HAD THIS REDUCED ENGINE POWER/SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL MESSAGE BEFORE WITH THIS CAR. A FEW YEARS AGO I HAD IT CUT OFF ON ME IN THE MIDDLE OF A SIDE STREET. THANKFULLY IT WASN'T A BUSY STREET. DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY DURING RUSH HOUR THRU A CONSTRUCTION ZONE MY CAR GAVE ME THE ENGINE POWER REDUCE THEN NOT EVEN A MILE DOWN THE ROAD THE STARTING DISABLED SERVICE THROTTLE MESSAGE CAME THEN THE CAR STALLED WITH NO SHOULDER TO PULL OVER ON. SAT FOR ABOUT MAYBE 5 MIN THEN MADE IT HOME. NOT IT HAPPENS MORE FREQUENT. TOOK TO THE GM DEALER TO GET IT DIAGNOSED AND THEY TOLD ME THEY COULDN'T FIND A PROBLEM WITH IT. SO BASICALLY SPENT 40 BUCKS TO HANG OUT AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR THEM TO TELL ME NOTHING. THEY EVEN CHECKED MY VIN AND NO RECALL.
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE KEEPS GOING OUT. I HAVE REPLACED THE BULBS MANY TIMES, BUT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BULBS. I DON'T KNOW IF THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE CONNECTOR THE BULB GOES INTO OR IF THERE IS AN ELECTRICAL SHORT PROBLEM. I BELIEVE GM KNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEM, BUT WON'T DO A RECALL. I HAVE SEEN THE SAME COMPLAINT AS MINE ALL OVER THE WEB. SINCE THIS PROBLEM HAS NOT CAUSED ANY FATALITIES THAT I'M AWARE OF, THERE IS NO REAL PRESSURE COMING FROM ENOUGH CONSUMERS TO WARRANT A RECALL. I AM HOPING THAT IF YOUR ORGANIZATION ADDS ITS CONSIDERABLE WEIGHT TO REQUESTING THAT GM DOES A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM, IT MIGHT HELP.
