THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE LUG NUTS WERE REPLACED ON THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. SAFETY IGNITION RECALL #14299.....I RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE FROM GM 8-2014 '.I TOOK CAR TO DEALER..IN WHICH THEY MODIFIED TOP PLASTIC PORTION OF KEY WITH NEW PIECE WITH EYELET SMALLER AND TOLD TO KEEP KEY AND TRANSMITTER BY ITSELF DO NOT ADD ANY ADDITIONAL KEYS ...MY DILEMMA IS NOW IGNITION SWITCH ITSELF IS JAMMING UP ..LOCKS UP,,IT TAKES 3-4 TRIES TO TURN OFF...AND IT TURNING ON LOCKS UP IF YOU OR ON ANY KIND OF INCLINE....BOTTOM LINE THIS IGNITION SWITCH ITSELF WAS DEFECTIVE AND QUICK FIX WAS TO MODIFY TOP PORTION OF KEY TO TAKE WEIGHT OFF. WELL GM AND DEALER SAY RECALL WAS NOT FOR IGNITION SWITCH ITSELF PERSAY BUT FOR KEY...AND I WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIRS/COST TO REPLACE IGNITION SWITCH.....
I STARTED MY CAR AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS BOTH CAME ON. I GOT ON THE HIGHWAY AND TRIED TO ACCELERATE TO MERGE INTO THE LANE AND MY CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO GET INTO THE EMERGENCY LANE BEFORE MY CAR SHUT OFF, BUT I WAS VERY CLOSE TO BEING BLASTED BY AN ONCOMING SEMI TRUCK. THIS COULD'VE BEEN FATAL TO ME IF I HAD NOT GOTTEN OVER IN TIME.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 72,000.
BAD SOLENOID IN TRANSMISSION CAUSES CAR TO JERK UPON ACCELERATION. TRANSMISSION SLIPS. USUALLY HAPPENS TAKING OFF FROM A STOP WITH A SLOW ACCELERATION. FEELS LIKE BEING REAR ENDED AND CAN CAUSE SLUGGISH ACCELERATION. PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED WITH A RECALL AS MANY OTHER IMPALA DRIVERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS SAME ISSUE. ISSUE HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 9 TIMES WITHIN A 6 WEEK PERIOD.
I WAS DRIVING ALONE ON THE HIGHWAY AND NOTICED THAT THE RMP GAUGES WAS GOING UP AND DOWN, THEN SUDDENLY A MESSAGE ON THE DASH READ, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, THEN A FEW SECONDS LATER ANOTHER MESSAGE READ, ENGINE POWER REDUCED AND THE CAR WOULD NOT PICK UP ANY SPEED. THIS WAS VERY SCARY AND CONFUSING BECAUSE THE NEXT DAY I HAD NO ISSES BUT HAS NOW IT DID THE SAME THING TODAY. PLEASE HELP.

THE RADIATOR FAN STOP WORKING DO TO ELECTRICAL PROBLEM I CHANGE SENSORS AND RELAYS N STILL WON'T WORK I HAD AUTO SHOP TEST THE FAN AND THE FANS WORKS. IT STOP WORKING ON ITS ON
THE ENGINE WILL SHUT OFF. THEN THE STEREO WILL TURN OFF FOR A SECOND THEN COME BACK ON AND DISPLAY SERVICE STABILITRAK. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AT A STOPLIGHT. THE ENGINE HAS ALWAYS COME BACK ON WHEN TRYING TO RESTART IT WITH THE KEY.
GENERAL MOTORS HAS DECIDED THAT A DEFECT, WHICH RELATES TO MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY, EXISTS IN CERTAIN 2009 ' 2010 CHEVROLET IMPALA VEHICLES. THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT FRAME IN THESE VEHICLES MAY RUB AGAINST AND DAMAGE THE WIRES OF THE PASSENGER PRESENCE SENSOR (PPS) MODULE, WHICH COULD CAUSE THE PPS SYSTEM TO FAIL TO RECOGNIZE THAT THE PASSENGER SEAT IS OCCUPIED AND IMPROPERLY SUPPRESS THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG. IN ADDITION, THE CLUSTER GAUGES AND DRIVER INFORMATION CENTER (DIC) ALERTS MAY INTERMITTENTLY TURN OFF OR NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. IN RARE CIRCUMSTANCES, THE DAMAGE TO THE PPS MODULE COULD CAUSE THE AIRBAG FUSE TO SHORT, RESULTING IN THE LOSS OF ALL AIRBAGS AND SEAT BELT PRETENSIONERS. GENERAL MOTORS HAS DECIDED THAT A DEFECT WHICH RELATES TO MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY EXISTS IN 2005-2009 MODEL YEAR (MY) BUICK LACROSSE, 2006-2011 MY BUICK LUCERNE, 2000-2005 MY CADILLAC DEVILLE, 2007-2011 MY CADILLAC DTS, 2006-2014 MY CHEVROLET IMPALA AND 2006-2007 MY CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO VEHICLES. IF THE KEY RING IS CARRYING ADDED WEIGHT AND THE VEHICLE GOES OFF ROAD OR EXPERIENCES SOME OTHER JARRING EVENT, IT MAY UNINTENTIONALLY MOVE THE KEY AWAY FROM THE "RUN" POSITION.
MY CAR OCCASIONALLY MAKES A TICKING NOISE FROM THE DASH. THIS COMES AND GOES PERIODICALLY. IT STARTS WHEN I OPEN THE DOOR (ANY DOOR) AND CONTINUES FOR ABOUT A MINUTE. IN THE PERIOD WHEN THIS NOISE COMES AND GOES THE DOORS WILL AUTOMATICALLY LOCK, I.E. IF I STEP OUT OF THE CAR (RUNNING OR NOT) AND SHUT THE DOOR IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY LOCK EVEN IF I DID NOT HIT THE LOCK BUTTON AND EVEN IF I DO HIT THE UNLOCK BUTTON. TWICE THIS HAS OCCURRED WHEN THE CAR WAS RUNNING AND MY DOG WAS IN THE VEHICLE (ALONG WITH MY PURSE AND KEYS) CAUSING ME MUST DISTRESS. I BELIEVE THIS IS SOMETHING FAULTY IN THE MAKE OF THE CAR. BY THE TIME I GET TO A DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT THE CLICKING HAS STOPPED OR IT IS NOT LOCKING AUTOMATICALLY. THE DEALER SAYS IT HAS TO BE HAPPENING WHILE THE NOISE IS ONGOING. THERE ARE NO LIGHTS ON THE DASH TO INDICATE A PROBLEM. THIS FIRST STARTED ABOUT A YEAR AGO AND THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT WAS TODAY (THE DATE LISTED BELOW). THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.

AS I GO DOWN THE ROAD THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND THE STABLETREK WARING TRACKION LIGHT ALSO COMES ON LIGHT AND POWER REDUCE ENGINE POWER LIGHT COMES ON BUT NOT ALL THE TIME IT GOES OFF AFTER A DAY OR SO AND THAN NO ONE CAN FINE THE PROBLEM.

I HAVE PROBLEM WITH AIR BAG , AIR BAG LIGHT POP UP BY IT SELF AND CLOSE BY IT SELF. IT'S NOT WORKING PROPERLY.
SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY AND THEN GOES OFF. I TOOK IT TOOK THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULDN'T REPLICATE IT. THIS HAS HAS MORE THAN ONE TIME. I'M CONCERNED THAT THIS CAN CAUSE AN ISSUE DURING A FRONT END COLLISION. MULTIPLE CHEVROLET IMPALA OWNERS HAVE THE SAME ISSUE AND GM WON'T STAND BEHIND THIS. SAME FOR THE POWER DOOR LOCKS, DRIVER DOOR DOESN'T ALWAYS OPEN. SAME ISSUE AND SINCE THEY CAN'T REPLICATE IT, THEY SAY KEEP AN EYE ON IT. CONCERNED IF THE DOOR WON'T UNLOCK SOMETIMES. AIR PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM & STABILITY TRAK MONITORS ALSO SEEM TO HAVE ISSUES. THE SENSORS ON THE CAR CONSTANTLY GO OFF AND MY VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 65,000 MILES ON A 9 YEAR OLD CAR. CONCERNED WHEN DRIVING IT IF IT'S JUST A SENSOR ISSUE OR A REAL PROBLEM THAT CAN CAUSE A SAFETY CONCERNED WHEN DRIVING AND CHEVROLET DOESN'T WANT TO DO ANYTHING CONCERNING THE ISSUE. I'VE ALREADY PAID 645.00 FOR THE ACTUATOR, 345.00 FOR THE TIRE MONITORING SYSTEM AND I KEEP GETTING TOLD KEEP AN EYE ON THE SERVICE AIRBAG ISSUE CAUSE THEY CAN'T REPLICATE IT.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT BURNS OUT AFTER A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME (WITHIN A FEW DAYS UP TO LESS THAN A WEEK). I HAVE REPLACED THE BULB MULTIPLE TIMES WITHIN A SHORT PERIOD. ALSO, REPLACED THE WIRE HARNESS AND IT STILL BURNS OUT THE BULB.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 154,000.
ENGINE SUDDENLY DIED WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND IT ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE POWER STEERING WENT OUT. I WAS ABLE TO START THE ENGINE BACK UP NO PROBLEM. I HAD A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON BECAUSE OF THE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR. I HAD JUST REPLACED IT THE DAY BEFORE. I SUSPECT IT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THAT, BUT IM NOT SURE. IF I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY IM PRETTY SURE I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN IN AN ACCIDENT. THIS ISNT THE FIRST TIME THIS CAR HAS ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF FAULTY CAR PARTS, THIS CAR IS DANGEROUS.
FOR OVER A YEAR NOW, AN AIRBAG RED LIGHT COMES ON SPORADICALLY ALONG WITH A BEEPING NOISE. I CAN'T AFFORD THE HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP REQUIRES TO CHECK IT OUT TO SEE IF IT IS THE DRIVERS SIDE OR PASSENGER AIR BAG. I JUST WANT TO KNOW IF IT IMPOSES ANY DANGER. THEY SAY IT MAY ME JUST A FAULTY SYSTEM AND THAT IT DOESN'T NECESSARILY MEAN THAT THE AIRBAG WOULDN'T DEPLOY IN AN EMERGENCY. BUT THEY HAVE TO TAKE THE WHOLE FRONT SIDE OUT TO CHECK. THE LABOR TIME IS QUITE PRICE. ALSO, WHEN USING MY REMOTE, THE DOOR LOCKS STAY LOCKED OFF AND ON. NO RHYME OF REASON. IT HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER A YEAR; BUT YOUR FORM HERE MAKES ME PUT JUST ONE DATE DOWN IN ORDER TO PROCEED.

LIGHTS COME BACK ON IN VARYING COMBINATIONS WITH NO WARNING WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD.

THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE AND NOTHING IS BEING DONE ABOUT IT . I WOULD REALLY LIKE A RESPONSE ON THIS PROBLEM . THIS HAPPENS A LOT SO YOUR DATE YOU WANT INCIDENT HAPPENING IS REALLY NOT RIGHT .

WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON DRY PAVEMENT, THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON, FOLLOWED BY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THEN THE CAR STALLED AND HAD TO BE BE EASED OFF THE HIGHWAY. TRIED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES. AFTER IT SAT FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES TRIED ONE MORE TIME AND THE CAR RESTARTED AND DROVE HOME PERFECTLY. RESEARCHED THE ISSUE ONLINE, AND THERE ARE ENTIRE FORUMS IN EDMUNDS DEDICATED TO THIS VERY PROBLEM. DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000.
I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR THE LAST RECALL FOR THE PASSANGER AIR BAG SENSOR IT DID NOT TURN THE LIGHT OFF AND THE DEALER SAYS THER IS A DIFFERANT ISSUE WITH IT AND THAT'S WHY THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON. I COULDN'T TELL YOU WHAT THEY DID AS FAR AS TAPING THE WIRES OR REPLACING THE SENSOR. BUT I FEEL LIKE THEY DID NOTHING NOW THEY TELL ME THE PART IS 433.00 AND LABOR AND PROGRAMING IS ALMOST 1000.00. I SEE MANY CARS HAVE THIS SAME ISSUE WITH THE PASSANGER PRESENCE SENSOR MODULE. THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON KEEPS ME FROM GETTING THE CAR INSPECTED. BASICALLY IF YOU SIT IN MY PASSANGER SIDE FRONT SEAT IT CAN'T RECOGNIZE ANYONE SITTING THERE. ANY HELP WOULD BE WELCOME ON THIS SITUATION.

THIS VEHICLE TRACTION CONTROL PROBLEM NEVER ENDS
120,757 MILES AND THE CAR IS NEEDING A 3RD GAS PEDAL. THE GAS PEDAL WAS ALREADY REPLACED A FEW YEARS BACK AND GM WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE, BUT I AM HAVING TO REPLACE IT AGAIN, $339.00. DOOR LOCKS MALFUNCTION AND QUIT WORKING . THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MANY TIMES . AFFRAID TO LET THE WIFE DRIVE IT TO WORK BECAUSE IT HAS SHUT DOWN QUITE A FEW TIMES .

WARNING LIGHTS - ENGINE REDUCE POWER LIGHT CAME ON THE DASH. THE ENGINE SHUT OFF WHILE TRAVELING IN THE HIGH SPEED LANE OF A MAJOR OUT OF STATE INTERSTATE. FORTUNATELY I WAS ABLE TO COAST ACROSS ALL LANES OF TRAVEL TO GET TO THE SHOULDER. WHEN I TURNED THE IGNITION, THE CAR DID RESTART SO I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT TO A REPAIR LOCATION. IT WAS DETERMINED BASED ON CODES THAT THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THIS IS THE 3RD VEHICLE THAT I OWN THAT HAS NEEDED THE THROTTLE BODY REPLACED. UNFORTUNATELY GM HAS DETERMINED THAT SINCE IT IS NOT A RECALL AND THEY ARE NOT REQUIRED BY STATE LAW TO REIMBURSE FOR REPAIRS AFTER 10/31/2016, EVEN THOUGH THEY EXTENDED DEALER COVERAGE UNTIL SOMETIME IN 2018 OR 120K MILES. I MET BOTH OF THESE CONDITIONS. SINCE THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON THROTTLE PROBLEM ACROSS MANUFACTURERS AND THE VEHICLE CAN AND DID SHUTOFF AT INTERSTATE SPEEDS, I WOULD REQUEST THAT YOU CONSIDER MAKING THIS A RECALL.

2009 CHEVY IMPALA LT MALFUNCTIONS 'BLEND DOOR ACTUATOR NOT TURNING CAUSING THE TEMPERATURE CONTROL SYSTEM TO NOT WORK PROPERLY: *THE HEATER BLOWS COLD AIR WHEN IN PARK *THERE IS A LOUD KNOCKING SOUND COMING FROM THE DASHBOARD. WHEN I START MY CAR, UNLOCK MY CAR, OPEN A CAR DOOR (DRIVER, PASSENGER, FRONT, BACK) AND WHILE MY CAR IS PARKED WITH THE IGNITION OFF. 'THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR LOCK MECHANISM NOT WORKING: *I HAVE TO MANUALLY LOCK AND UNLOCKTHE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WITH THE KEY AND SOMETIMES MY KIDS HAVE TO UNLOCK DOOR FROM INSIDE THE CAR. 'LEFT PASSENGER POWER WINDOW WON'T ROLL DOWN. THE LAST TWO ITEMS COULD RESULT IN A SHORT IN THE CIRCUIT BOARD. A SHORT MAY CAUSE THE POWER DOOR LOCK AND POWER WINDOW SWITCHES TO BECOME INOPERATIVE. THESE COULD CAUSE OVERHEATING, WHICH COULD MELT COMPONENTS OF THE DOOR MODULE, PRODUCING ODOR, SMOKE, OR A FIRE INCREASING THE RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY. MECHANIC SAID THAT THESE MALFUNCTIONS ARE A COMMON PROBLEM IN CHEVY IMPALAS SO IT SEEMS THAT THESE ARE OBVIOUSLY FAULTY PARTS. I AM EXTREMELY AGGRAVATED THAT THIS IS A KNOWN AND CONSISTENT ISSUE WITH THIS CAR YET HAVE NOT BEEN RECALLED. NOT GOOD! THERE ARE SEVERAL ACTUATORS, THEY ALL NEED TO BE REPLACED. GM SHOULD DO A RECALL ON THIS MODEL TO FIX THESE ITEMS. COULD BE SIGNIFICANT IF THERE'S AN EMERGENCY AND I CAN'T UNLOCK THE DOOR AND CAN'T ROLL LEFT PASSENGER WINDOW DOWN. THE LAST TWO CONDITIONS COULD INCREASE THE RISK OF INJURY DURING A CRASH.

CAR HESITATES ON ACCELERATION FROM A STOP. RPMS GO UP BUT CAR GOES VERY SLOW, LIKE IF IT HAS LOST A LOT OF POWER. ONCE IT STOPS HESITATING IT BANGS INTO GEAR AND SPEEDS FORWARD. IT CAN POSSIBLY CAUSE A CRASH IF DRIVER IS NOT AWARE ITS HESITATING.

MY TIRE AND PRESSURE LIGHT STAYS ON EVEN AFTER I HAVE BROUGHT NEW TIRES AND A OIL CHANGE. MY ACTUATOR MAKES A CLICKING NOISE WHEN I CRANK UP MY CAR AND LAST ABOUT A MINUTE OR TWO THEN STOPS.
