THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS SHUT OFF AND FAILED TO RESTART. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE TIRES ON THIS CAR FOR THE THIRD TIME,THIS CAR HAS 30,000 MILES AND SHOULD NOT HAVE HAD TO HAVE TIRES 3 TIMES.THERE SEEMS TO BE QUITE A LOT OF 2009 IMPALAS WITH THIS PROBLEM.THE FRONT TIMES WEAR ON THE OUT SIDE AND INSIDE.THE BACK TIRES ARE LIKE NEW.THE FIRST SET OF TIRES HAD 10,000 MILES ON THEM, THE SECOND SET HAD 12,000 MILES ON THEM.THE DEALER REPLACED THE FRONT TIRES THE FIRST TIME AFTER A LOT OF ARGUMENT .I HAVE FOUND 37 COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. GM HAS REPAIRED THE PROBLEM ON THE 2009 IMPALA POLICE CARS,SO THAT IS AN ADMISSION OF A PROBLEM.THEY HAVE NOT EXTENDED THIS FIX TO THE OTHER BUYERS OF THE 2009 IMPALAS.MY CAR ALSO HAD SEVERAL RECALLS FOR OTHER PROBLEMS. I AM NOW WAITING FOR THE IGNITION REPAIR TO BE FIXED. I HAVE BEEN A GM BUYER FOR OVER 40 YEARS AND THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING. *TR

I WAS DRIVING APPROX. 55 MPH WHEN THE SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL AND ENGINE POWER REDUCED WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. I FELT THE CAR POWER DOWN SOME AND MADE IT HOME SAFELY. AFTER READING THE COMPLAINTS HERE, I AM SCARED TO DRIVE MY CAR. THIS IS THE CAR I DRIVE MY KIDS IN EVERYDAY. THERE IS OBVIOUSLY A PROBLEM HERE AND A RECALL NEEDS TO BE ISSUED. WAS DRIVING WHEN THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON AND MESSAGE CAME ACROSS SAYING SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL: THEN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED FLASHING RAPIDLY AT THE SAME TIME. FOLLOW BY A VERY LOUD KNOCKING NOISE FROM THE ENGINE. THEN SPEED WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. TURNED ON FLASHERS AND COASTED INTO PARKING LOT. VEHICLE HAD TROUBLES RESTARTING AND WOULD NOT MOVE. STEERING WHEEL WAS HARD TO TURN. TRIES TO DIE WHILE IDLING AFTER YOU GET IT TO START. DID DIAGNOSTICS AND CODE P0300 RANDOM MISFIRE DETECTION POWER TRAIN UNABLE TO ESTABLISH A LINK TO THE VEHICLE. FUEL SYSTEM 2 IS OL, LIFT AT 0%, SPARK PLUG 13.5, FUEL LEVEL LOW 38.8, ECU 14.417, LOW ACCELERATION. CONTACTED LOCAL CHEVY DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD IT WILL COST $35 TO TOW IT TO THEIR SHOP AND ABOUT $85 JUST TO RUN A DIAGNOSTIC ON THEIR MACHINE. IF IT IS A LIFTER THE COST WILL BE OVER $700 TO GET FIXED. I PURCHASED THIS AUTOMOBILE IN AUGUST 2013 AND HAVE JUST HAD IT A YEAR. SO NOW I HAVE A CAR PAYMENT ON A CAR THAT DOESN'T RUN. I BOUGHT IT AT WK MOTORS IN SEDALIA, MO. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS CAR HAS HAD ISSUES AND WITHOUT A WARRANTY THE DEALERSHIP WONT DO ANYTHING!!! *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY CAR INTO A SERIES OF TURNS AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MILE PER HOUR WHEN IT SEEMED I LOST ENGINE POWER RAPIDLY AND THE CAR DECREASED SPEED TO APPROXIMATELY 20 MILE PER HOUR I COULD NOT ACCELERATE. I COULD BARELY STEER AND BRAKING WAS REALLY DIFFICULT. I MANAGED TO GET THE CAR OFF OF THE ROAD WHERE IT SET FOR APPROXIMATELY A MINUTE OR TWO BEFORE IT WOULD RESTART. I CONTACTED GM AND MY DEALERSHIP AND DID NOT GET A SATISFACTORY ANSWER EITHER PLACE. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT MY RECALL LETTER DESCRIBES YET I WAS TOLD THAT MY ISSUES WERE NOT DUE TO THE RECALL. I AM GREATLY DISAPPOINTED TO BE PAYING FOR A VEHICLE THAT IS NOT SAFE FOR ME TO DRIVE. *TR
WHILE DRIVING, I GOT TO ABOUT 60MPH AND THE TRACTION CONTROL AS WELL AS TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON AND ENGINE POWER REDUCE. I DROPPED TO 40-45MPH THEN SYSTEM SAID ENTERING TROTTLE MODE AND VEHICLE CUT IN ROAD. I PULLED OVER, TURNED IGNITION OFF AND WAITED 2 OR 3 MINUTES THEN I WAS ABLE TO RESTART VEHICLE. *TR

THE VEHICLE STARTED TO BEEP AND GAUGES DIDN'T WORK THEN WORK. THE GAUGES WENT BACK AND FORTH. THE LOCKS LOCKED AND UNLOCKED. I STARTED TO DRIVE AND DIDN'T KNOW HOW FAST I WAS GOING BECAUSE THE SPEEDOMETER DIDN'T WORK. THE ENGINE SEEMED TO WORK HARDER TO REACH HIGHWAY SPEED. WHEN I TURNED THE CAR OFF, THE STABILITRAK LIGHT CAME OFF BUT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY CLEARED THE CODES FOR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BUT COULDN'T FIND WHAT CAUSED THE STABILITRAK LIGHT TO COME ON. THEY TOOK THE ELECTRICAL HARNESS OFF AND PUT ELECTRICAL GREASE ON TO KEEP MOISTURE OUT. THAT DIDN'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM. I STILL HAVE THE STABILITRAK LIGHT TO COME ON AND GAUGES NOT TO WORK. NOW, IT HAPPENS WHEN I AM DRIVING. I FEEL THAT SOMEDAY THIS WILL HAPPEN AND HAVE NO CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE BECAUSE ONE TIME I FELT THE POWER STEERING TO GO BUT COME BACK RIGHT AWAY. *TR

I CRANKED MY 2009 CHEVROLET IMPALA LEAVING A NEARBY GAS STATION AND THE MESSAGE SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL FLASHED, THEN ENGINE POWER REDUCED, AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. MY CAR DROVE SLUGGISH HOME AT A VERY SLOW SPEED. LUCKILY I WAS ONLY ABOUT 5 MINUTES FROM HOME. THE NEXT MORNING NO MESSAGE WAS DISPLAYED AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT OFF. I TOOK IT TO ADVANCE AUTO PARTS AND THE CODE P2127 WAS DISPLAYED TWICE - THROTTLE PEDAL POSITION SENSOR. I SEE MOST OF THESE COMPLAINTS ARE SIMILAR TO MINE I JUST HAPPEN NOT TO BE ON THE HIGHWAY. IS GM INVESTIGATING THIS BECAUSE THIS IS SERIOUS WITH MULTIPLE OCCURRENCES? *TR
HORRIBLE SHIMMY/SHAKE WHEN COMING TO A STOP, EVEN AFTER REPLACING BRAKES AND ROTORS. UNEVEN WEAR PATTERN ON TIRES (ESPECIALLY THE FRONT). INNER TREAD AND OUTER TREAD BALD, EVEN AFTER FRONT END ALIGNMENT. ALSO FEELS LIKE THERE'S SOME STEERING ISSUES TO WORK OUT AS WELL. I ORIGINALLY REPORTED A PROBLEM WITH EXPERIENCING WHAT THE DEALERSHIP REFERRED TO AS A "FISHBITE". I WAS ADVISED BY THE TECHNICIAN AND A SERVICE BULLETIN THAT WAS PRESENTED TO ME TO ONLY USE CERTAIN BRANDS OF FUEL AND WITH 2-3 FILL-UPS THE PROBLEM SHOULD RESOLVE ITSELF. SO I HAVE ONLY USED THE BRANDS OF FUEL THAT GM RECOMMENDED IN THE BULLETIN SINCE THAT DATE. THE PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED AND I BELIEVE THIS IS A PREDECESSOR TO A DIFFERENT PROBLEM AS TODAY I TOO HAVE FALLEN VICTIM TO THE WONDERFULLY FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE OF THE DREADED SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL AND REDUCED ENGINEER POWER SERVICE LIGHTS. FORTUNATELY FOR ME, MY CAR DID NOT IMMEDIATELY SHUT OFF AND I WAS ABLE TO RETURN HOME SINCE I WAS ONLY A FEW BLOCKS AWAY. HOWEVER, GIVEN ALL OF THE OTHER COMPLAINTS, I AM SURE THAT THIS IS NOT THE LAST TIME I WILL BE POSTING ABOUT THIS. THE "SERVICE AIR BAG" LIGHT COMES ON AND TURNS OFF OCCASIONALLY. THERE DOES NOT SEEM TO BE SOMETHING IN PARTICULAR THAT HAPPENS FOR THE "SERVICE AIR BAG" TO EITHER COME ON OR SHUT OFF, BUT FROM WHAT I HAVE HEARD THIS IS NOT AN ISSUE WITH THE AIR BAG. IT HAS BEEN TO THE CHEVY DEALER MORE THAN ONCE (NOT FOR THAT LIGHT) AND THEY HAVEN'T EVEN MENTIONED IT. VERY NERVOUS THAT IF SOMETHING WERE TO BE WRONG WITH THE AIR BAG, HOW WOULD I POSSIBLY KNOW WHEN THE LIGHT WAS ACTUALLY STATING A REAL PROBLEM??

AIR BAG ALARM LIGHT TURNED ON AND WAS ALARMING FOR MORE THAN ONE WEEK, ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR ISSUES WERE DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALERSHIP, DEALERSHIP IDENTIFIED FRETTING FAILURES. CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP ACKNOWLEDGED THAT MY VEHICLE IS A TARGET FOR IGNITION SWITCH UPDATE HOWEVER THEY INFORMED ME THAT NO RESOLUTION TO THE IGNITION SWITCH FOR MY VEHICLE WOULD BE HONORED FOR MY CAR. NEITHER WAS THERE ANY FURTHER EXPLANATION FOR RESOLUTION NOR WAS THERE ANY RECOMMENDED SAFE RESOLUTION FOR ME TO EXECUTE. *TR
I TAKE A LEFT HAND TURN I HEAR CRACKING; BACKING UP I HEAR CRACKING; LIKE THE FRONT AXLE IS FALLING APART. THERE IS A CONTROL ARM RECALL BUT NOT ON MY CAR JUST POLICE CARS. THE ISSUE WITH MY CAR SOUNDS LIKE THE POLICE ISSUE CAR. THIS INCIDENT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES LEADING UP TO THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINING ON. AS I WOULD BE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH. THE VEHICLE WOULD SUDDENLY START TO JERK TO ACCELERATE AND DECELERATE WITHOUT ME WANTING TO CHANGE SPEEDS. SEVERAL OF THESE INCIDENTS HAVE BEEN WHILE I WAS DRIVING IN TRAFFIC. THEN THE MESSAGE "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" AND "SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL" WOULD APPEAR ON THE DASH AND THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND STAY ON. THIS WOULD ALSO CAUSE THE CAR TO REDUCE ITS SPEED AND CAUSE SIGNIFICANT ACCELERATION PROBLEMS.
