CAR SHUTS DOWN RANDOMLY ON THE HIGHWAY AND IS LIFE THREATENING
SERVICE STABILITRAK INDICATOR SHOWED UP AND THE VEHICLE DOES NOT RUN PROPERLY (ENGINE SEEMED TO WANT TO STALL, LOSS OF POWER, ROUGH IDLEING, TRANSMISSION 'KICKING'. THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE REPAIRED BY THE DEALERSHIP AND NOT THE CONSUMER SINCE THE COSTS OF REPAIR ARE (CAN BE) EXTREMELY HIGH. MANUFACTURER SHOULD ENSURE THE PARTS THEY USE FOR STABILITY AND SAFETY WILL LAST FOR THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE.
LIGHT. FOR SERVICE AIRBAG ON AND UPON SRARTING VEHICLE AND PERIODICALLY WHILE DRIVING A MESSAGE ALSO APPEARS ON DASH INFORMATION AREA STATING SERVICE AIRBAG. CONCERNED IF IT'S SAFE BUT DEALER SAID NO RECALL AT THIS TIME AND IT "HAPPENS". STILL OCCURRING.
"SERVICE AIRBAG" LIGHT COMES ON WITHOUT PUSHING A CODE FOR ERROR.
ANTI LOCKING BRAKE LIGHT COMING ON, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, SERVICE STABILTRAC ,SERVICE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL. HAD ALL CHECKED, SAID IT WAS A RIGHT DRIVE WHEEL BEARING, REPLACED THE WHEEL BEARING. STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHEN THE CONTACT PLACED THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE, THE ABS AND SERVICE TRACTION WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ANOTHER UNKNOWN WARNING INDICATOR ALSO ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL BEARING FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED OR WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MAKE LEFT OR RIGHT TURNS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: 8-2855204461. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000. UPDATED 07/11/17*LJ *AS
MY CAR DIED ALONG SIDE THE HIGHWAY DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION SUDDENLY FAILING. WE WERE UNABLE TO MOVE IN ANY FORWARD OR REVERSE GEARS. I HAVE NEVER DRIVEN THE CAR HARD, AND ALWAYS MAINTAIN PER MANUFACTURERS SPECIFICATIONS AND GUIDELINES. 2010 IMPALA WITH 130,000 MILES. FORTUNATELY A POLICE OFFICER WAS ABLE TO PARK BEHIND US IN THE ROAD WITH HIS LIGHTS FLASHING TO KEEP CARS FROM RUNNING INTO US UNTIL WE WERE ABLE TO GET TOWED AWAY. I HAD JUST MADE A LEFT HAND TURN ONTO THE HIGHWAY, AND THE TRANSMISSION INSTANTLY FAILED AFTER THE TURN (I HAD DRIVEN ABOUT A MILE FROM MY GARAGE TILL THE FAILURE).
DRIVING HOME ONE NIGHT AFTER JUST HAVING MY VEHICLE REPAIRED A FEW WEEKS EARLIER, WITHOUT WARNING, MY VEHICLE BEGAN TO STALL. JUST BEFORE THE STALL IT WAS DRIVING COMPLETELY NORMAL WITH NO ISSUES AT ALL. SUDDENLY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON ALONG WITH THE MESSAGES OF SERVICE STABILTRACK, TRACTION CONTROL DISABLED, AND LOW ENGINE POWER. WHEN I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER I BOUGHT IT FROM I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS AN AFTERMARKET SENONDARY AIR CHECK VALVE THAT WAS CAUSING THE ISSUE. WITH THIS THEY GAVE ME THE FOLLOWING CODES; P0068, P0340, P0651, AND P2135. DUE TO ME JUST RECENTLY GETTING THIS PART REPLACED THIS PAST FEBRUARY I TOOK IT BACK TO THE MECHANIC THAT REPLACED IT. WHEN I RECEIVED THE VEHICLE BACK IT WOULD NO LONGER EVEN START. THE MECHANIC THEN INFORMED ME THAT THE AIR VALVE WOULD NOT CAUSE THIS ISSUE AND THERE WAS SOMETHING ELSE WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE AND TO TAKE IT TO ANOTHER DEALER. WHEN THAT WAS DONE I WAS TOLD A SECOND TIME THAT IT WAS THE AIR VALVE. I HAVE NOW COME OUT OF POCKET TWICE FOR TOWS THAT I CAN'T AFFORD. ALONG WITH PAYING FOR AN EXPENSIVE PART POSSIBLY TWICE. VEHICLE ONLY HAS 50K MILES ON IT AND HAS NEVER GIVEN ME ANY ISSUES UNTIL THIS YEAR.
I HAVE A 2010 CHEVY IMPALA LT WITH 90K+ MILES ON IT. I ORIGINALLY BOUGHT THE CAR IN 2011 USED WITH 40K+ MILES ON IT, SO THE CAR IS NO LONGER COVERED THROUGH WARRANTY. ENGINE POWER REDUCED, SERVICE STABILITRAC, ETC. I'M A FULL TIME COLLEGE STUDENT, AND A FULL TIME UBER DRIVER. LAST NIGHT I WAS WITH A PASSENGER ON [XXX] TOWARDS O'HARE AIRPORT. MY CAR REDUCED SPEED AND SUDDENLY DROPPED SPEED FROM 70MPH DOWN TO 50MPH. AS I TURNED ON THE EMERGENCY LIGHT AND START STEERING TO THE RIGHT TO GET ONTO THE SHOULDER I WAS IN THE THIRD LANE TO THE RIGHT (THE EXPRESSWAY IS 4 LANES) AS I WAS TURNING TO THE RIGHT TO GET ONTO THE SHOULDER AND TO GET TO SAFETY MY STEERING LOCKS, AND THERE WAS A RECKLESS DRIVER GOING 100MPH TRYING TO CUT OFF TRAFFIC. THE LANES TO THE LEFT WERE BLOCKED SO HE HAD TO CUT ME OFF BY OVERTAKING ME BY GOING ONTO THE SHOULDER. HE DAMAGED HIS RIGHT REARVIEW MIRROR AND PROBABLY SCRAPPED THE RIGHT SIDE OF HIS CAR PULLING OFF THAT RECKLESS STUNT. HAD I DELAYED THE BREAKING FOR A SECOND I WOULDN'T BE ALIVE MAKING THIS POST TODAY. LUCKILY I TURNED THE CAR OFF, WAITED FOR A FEW MINUTES, TURNED THE CAR BACK ON AND TOOK THE NEARBY [XXX], AND WAITED WITH MY PASSENGER AT THE NEARBY TARGET PARKING LOT FOR THE NEXT UBER DRIVER TO PICK UP MY PASSENGER AND GET HER SAFELY TO THE AIRPORT. HAD I NOT ACTED QUICKLY, MY UBER PASSENGER WOULD HAVE MISSED HER FLIGHT. WHILE DRIVING ON A SECONDARY ROADWAY HEARD A LOUD NOISE THEN LOST STEERING CONTROL AS THE FRONT WHEELS LOCKED AND WAS FORCED OFF THE ROAD VEERING TO THE RIGHT. THE FRONT WHEELS WILL NOT ROTATE IN ANY GEAR NOW VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. FELDMAN CHEVROLET OF NOVI, MI STATES THERE IS METAL IN THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. LOW MILES AND NO PRIOR ACCIDENTS, NO TRANSMISSION ISSUES PRIOR, DEALER MAINTAINED. LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL IS A SAFETY ISSUE.
A COMMON ISSUE AMONGST CHEVY IMPALA'S IS THE "SERVICE STABILITRAK" ERROR. IT COMES ON EVERY DAY AND EFFECTS MY BRAKE PEDAL AND ENGINE POWER. I WILL BE ATTACHING A LINK PROVING THAT THIS HAS BEEN AN IGNORED ISSUE BY GM FOR YEARS. IT IS NOT SAFE TO HAVE THESE CARS ON THE ROAD AND I DEMAND A RECALL/DIFFERENT CAR FROM MY DEALERSHIP AS MY CAR IS LESS THAN 2YRS OLD. DRIVING 65MPH ON HIGHWAY WHEN "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" AND "SERVICE STABILITRAK" LIGHTS CAME ON AND ENGINE STARTED TO THROTTLE DOWN. HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO PULL OVER ONTO LEFT SHOULDER WITH A SEMI CLOSE BEHIND. TURNED CAR OFF FOR 1 MINUTE AND RESTARTED AND THE "REDUCED ENGINE POWER AND "SERVICE STABILITRAK DISAPPEARED. HOW IS THIS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE REQUIRING A RECALL?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT OPERATE IN THE REVERSE POSITION. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE TRANSMISSION "SLIPPED" SEVERAL TIMES AND CAUSED THE CONTACT TO APPLY SIGNIFICANT PRESSURE TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE REDUCED ENGINE POWER INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO JERK AND THE ENGINE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 166,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING OVER 30 MPH, THE SERVICE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE A DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WAS PERFORMED AND AN AIR BAG CODE WAS DISPLAYED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 82,000.

I HAVE CONTRACTED BEN MYNATT CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP AT 281 CONCORD PKWY S, CONCORD, NC 28027 REGARDING THESE RECALLS. ACCORDING TO BEN MYNATT CHEVROLET THESE RECALLS DO NOT ASSIST. PLEASE CONFIRM. I ALSO SEE THAT THERE ARE 313 COMPLAINTS BUT 0 INVESTIGATIONS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE ENTERING THE PARKED VEHICLE, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER FLOOR HAD A PUDDLE OF WATER AFTER IT RAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE WATER ENTERED THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE FIREWALL. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. I WAS DRIVING AND MAKING A LEFT TURN AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE CAR STARTED SHAKING VERY HARD. AND IT MADE LIKE A ZOOMING SOUND AND ALL THE POWER WENT OUT. THE SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL CAME UP ON THE DASH BOARD. THE MOTOR ICON STARTED FLASHING. THE BRAKES WERE NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND THEN IT JUST STOPPED. HAD TO PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND PUSH IT TO THE SIDE OF THE STREET. THANK GOD THERE WAS A PARKING SPACE.
THE SERVICE AIRBAG SOON LIGHT IS ON AND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG IS NOT SENSING THAT A PERSON IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE FIRST TIME THE LIGHT CAME ON WAS SITTING IN MY GARAGE. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.
INTERMITTENT ABS, TRACTION CONTROL, STABILITRAK ISSUES HAVE BEEN HAPPENING FOR THE LAST FEW YEARS. IT STARTYED AT ABOUT 80K MILES. I HAVE REPLACED THE WHEEL HUB TWICE DUE TO A LOOSE BEARING. THIS SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED THE PROBLEM THE FIRST TIME, BUT HAS NOT RESOLVED THE ISSUE THE SECOND TIME. IT TENDS TO HAPPEN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS JARRED (SUCH AS HITTING A POT HOLD ON A DIRT ROAD) OR WHEN TURNING HARD TO THE RIGHT WHILE ACCELERATING. IF IT HAPPENS A FEW TIMES WITHIN A SHORT TIME, THEN THE SYSTEM WILL ABS, STABILITRAK, AND TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEMS SHUT DOWN. IT

THIS PROBLEM TENDS TO ONLY HAPPEN WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION TRYING TO TURN LEFT OR RIGHT AND SIMPLY JUST TRYING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. IT IS VERY HARD TO DESCRIBE WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS BUT IT'S LIKE THE CAR HAS A HUGE HICCUP AND IT SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING IS LOOSE UNDERNEATH. I HAVE TO LIGHTLY TOUCH THE GAS PEDAL TO TRY AND AVOID THIS HAPPENING. I GET THE WARNING LIGHT-SERVICE STABILITRACK AND TRACTION CONTROL. I GET SCARED AT TIMES TRYING TO MAKE TURNS BECAUSE WHEN THE HICCUPPING HAPPENS, IT DELAYS THE CAR FOR SECONDS AND I TRY TO PRESS ON THE GAS BUT IT WON'T GET UP TO SPEED. NEEDLESS TO SAY, IF IT'S POSSIBLE, I TRY AND WAIT FOR A GOOD DISTANCE BETWEEN ME CROSSING AND THE CARS COMING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SEAT BELT INDEPENDENTLY DISCONNECTED AND THE COVERING EXPOSED THE WIRES UNDERNEATH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TENSION ASSEMBLY FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 157,798.
REDUCED ENGINE POWER LIGHTS CAME, ON TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME, ON IT WAS HARD TO ACCELERATE IN THE MIDDLE OF A HIGHWAY, CAR ALMOST SHUT DOWN, BUT I MADE IT HOME. IT HAS HAPPENED TWICE ON THE HIGHWAY AND TURNPIKE. I THOUGHT IT WAS OIL BUT THAT WASN'T THE ISSUE. IT STOPS (THE PROBLEMS) AFTER I SHUT THE CAR OFF FOR AN EVENING, BUT I'M SCARED IT WILL POWER DOWN WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY AGAIN. WHEN THIS ISSUE HAPPENS THE CAR BEEPS, THEN THE TRACTION LIGHT COMES ON WITH WARNING AND SO DOES THE ENGINE LIGHT AND REDUCED ENGINE POWER WARNING. ALWAYS IN MOTION, ESPECIALLY HIGHER SPEEDS THAN NORMAL CITY STREETS. SUCH AS TURNPIKE AND HIGHWAY.
WHILE DRIVING MY IMPALA, WITH NO WARNING, MY CAR LOST POWER. THE DASH BEEPED AT ME AND SAID REDUCED ENGINE POWER, SERVICE STALINKTRAK, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL. I HAD TO TURN MY CAR OFF, I WAITED A FEW MINUTES THEN TURNED CAR BACK ON. THE CAR WAS ABLE TO RUN AND DRIVE AFTER THIS, BUT MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. I HAD VEHICLE COMPUTER SCANNED AND HAD A CODE FOR THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR. AFTER FURTHER RESEARCH, I HAVE LEARNED I WILL NEED TO REPLACE THE WHOLE THROTTLE BODY. MY CAR HAS NOW LOST POWER SEVERAL TIMES AND MY RPM GAUGE 'BOUNCES'. I WILL BE PARKING MY CAR UNTIL THE PART COMES IN. I HAVE HAD MY 2010 CHEVROLET IMPALA LS FOR ABOUT ONE YEAR NOW. IT CURRENTLY HAS 164,000 MILES. THE FOLLOWING PROBLEM STARTED HAPPENING ABOUT 6 MONTHS AFTER I BOUGHT IT, DURING THE WINTER MONTHS. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED IN ANY KIND OF WEATHER (BUT HAPPENS MORE OFTEN IN COLD WEATHER) TWO LIGHTS POP UP, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND THE STABILITY TRACK LIGHT. I ALSO GET THREE DISPLAY MESSAGES, SERVICE STABILTRACK, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL AND ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED. HALF OF THE TIMES THAT THIS OCCURS MY CAR LITERALLY SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING AND A DIFFERENT MESSAGE IS DISPLAYED STATING ENGINE POWER SHUTTING DOWN. I LOSE ALL CONTROL OF VEHICLE, POWER STEERING, GAS ETC. THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN GOING AT HIGH SPEEDS ,WHICH IS EVEN MORE DANGEROUS. I TURN THE CAR OFF, IF I IMMEDIATELY TRY TO TURN IT BACK ON IT DOES NOTHING, IF I WAIT A MINUTE OR SO IT WILL TURN OVER. AT THIS TIME USUALLY ALL DISPLAY AND LIGHTS ARE OFF EXCEPT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. WHICH DOES EVENTUALLY GO AWAY. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED OR A RECALL IS IN ORDER. WIPER STOPPED WORKING WHILE DRIVING ON EXPRESSWAY ON HEAVY RAIN THERE IS NO POWER FROM FUSE TO WIPER HAVE CHECKED EVERYTHING POSSIBLE .SEATBELT SOMETIMES DOESN'T LOCK ON PASSENGER SIDE AND SOMETIMES IT COMES OFF ON ITS OWN KNOCKING NOISE IN FRONT DASH BOARD AND IT SEEMS LIKE THERE ARE TOO MANY PROBLEMS WITH THESE CHEVY UNBELIEVABLE BUT NO RECALLS. I WAS TRAVELING WEST BOUND ON INTERSTATE 22 WHEN THE STABILITRAK REQUIRES MAINTENANCE DISPLAYED ACROSS DRIVER'S INFORMATION CENTER. NEXT THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT AND DISPLAY LIGHTS UP FOLLOWED BY, REDUCED ENGINE POWER, IN WHICH I LOST ALMOST ALL POWER TO MY VEHICLE. I WAS TRAVELING AROUND 70 MPH IN THE LEFT LANE AND HAD TO NAVIGATE TWO LANES OF TRAFFIC TO REACH A SAFE SPOT ON THE SHOULDER OF THE INTERSTATE.

WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH-SPEED'S IN ANY KIND OF WEATHER TWO LIGHTS POP UP, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND THE STABILITY TRACK LIGHT. I ALSO GET THREE DISPLAY MESSAGES, SERVICE STABILTRACK, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL AND ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED. HALF OF THE TIMES THAT THIS OCCURS MY CAR LITERALLY SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING AND A DIFFERENT MESSAGE IS DISPLAYED STATING ENGINE POWER IS SHUTTING DOWN. I LOSE ALL CONTROL OF VEHICLE, POWER STEERING, GAS ETC. THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN GOING HIGH SPEEDS, WHICH IS EVEN MORE DANGEROUS. I TURN THE CAR OFF. AIR BAG SENSOR HAS BEEN TRIPPED FOR THE PAST 7 MONTHS, I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS RECALL, AND IT LOOKS LIKE THE WIRING HARNESS MIGHT BE THE ONLY THING THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. HOWEVER, WHENEVER, I PUT IN MY VIN NUMBER, THERE AREN'T ANY RECALLS FOR THIS. ALSO, I HAVE RECEIVED A LETTER ABOUT THE GAS SENSOR POSSIBLY BEING BAD, HOWEVER, WHEN I TOOK IT INTO A CHEVY DEALER TO HAVE IT FIXED, THEY REFUSED TO. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WASN'T ON, AND THAT I HAD TO WAIT UNTIL IT FAILED BEFORE THEY WOULD FIX IT! FAILURE OF THIS SENSOR MEANS, IT COULD FAIL IN AN INTERSECTION, OR WHILE I AM PASSING SOMEONE, OR WHATEVER, THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN!!! I AM VERY UNHAPPY THAT THEY WOULDN'T FIX IT. NOW, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON, HOWEVER, IT IS BECAUSE ANOTHER SENSOR IS BAD! THE EVC SENSOR NOW HAS TO BE FIXED. THE GAS PEDAL SENSOR HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FOR 3 YEARS BECAUSE CHEVY DEALERS REFUSE TO FIX IT. THESE CONCERNS ARE IN ADDITION TO THE OTHER MECHANICAL FIXES THAT I HAVE HAD TO DO ON A CAR THAT HAS LESS THAN 87,000 MILES ON IT! THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND COULD CAUSE A POTENTIAL CAR ACCIDENT OR EVEN DEATH IF TRAVELING AT HIGH SPEEDS AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN YOUR CAR ENGINE REDUCES POWER.
