MY IMPALA HEATING AND AIR CONDITION UNIT DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY AND MAKES CLICKING NOISE WHEN I DO THE FOLLOWING: GET IN THE CAR, START THE CAR, TOUCH THE HEATING AND AC KNOBS. I WAS ADVISED BY THE MECHANIC THAT THEY CAN'T TELL ME WHAT IT WOULD COST BUT THIS IS A DEFECT IN THE IMPALA. SAID THAT THE CLICKING IS BECAUSE IT'S TRYING TO CATCH BACK TO WHAT EVER IS DISPLACED AND KEEPS TRYING. I'VE TIME THIS CLICKING AND IT GOES ON FOR A WHOLE MINUTE. I HAVE A DUAL SYSTEM AND IT APPEARS THE PASSENGER SAID HEATS WHEN IT WANTS TO,..THIS HAD BEEN GOING ON IN MY CAR FOR THE LAST 8 MONTHS AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY THE COMPANY HAVE NOT TAKEN RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS DEFECT. I WOULD LIKE FOR THE COMPANY TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND RECALL AND HELP THE OWNERS OF THE AWFUL SOUND AND EMBARRASSING WHEN OTHERS GET IN YOUR CAR AND HEAR THE MADNESS THAT YOU HAVE TO TRY AND EXPLAIN. I DON'T THINK THIS HELP PEOPLE WANTING TO BUY THE CAR. THANKS
TAKATA RECALL CAR JERKS HARD EVERY TIME YOU PUSH THE GAS TO MOVE FORWARD OR BACKWARD AS IF IT DON'T WANT TO MOVE. AND THE RPM RISE UP
ENGINE POWER REDUCED...CAR SHUTS OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC.
MY CAR STARTED GIVING ME AN ERROR CODE OF SERVICE STABILITRAC, SERVICE BRAKE ASSIST, AND MY TRACTION AND ABS LIGHT COMES ON LIKE A YEAR AGO. I HAVE HAD CONTROL ARMS REPLACED, CV AXLES, HUBS, ETC. I HAVE BASICALLY REPLACED THE ENTIRE FRONT SUSPENSION TRYING TO RID THIS PROBLEM BUT TO NO AVAIL IT'S STILL GIVING ME THIS WARNING. IT'S CAUSING MY CAR TO SLIP WHEN I TURN CORNERS OR TRY TO ACCELERATE. IT'S CAUSING PULLING AND LOSS OF SPEED IN THE ENGINE . THIS PROBLEM IS COSTING ME ALOT OF MONEY AS WELL AS FRUSTRATION. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS MATTER URGENTLY THANK YOU
HAVEN'T BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND YET THE SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT HAS COME ON IN THE CAR. IT'S RIDICULOUS HOW MANY ISSUES THE IMPALA HAS AND YET THERE ARE NO RECALLS.
MESSAGE SAYS "SERVICE STABILITRAK" ENGINE POWERING DOWN". HAS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING AND WHEN FIRST STARTING. MANY GM CUSTOMERS HAVE EXPERIENCED SAME ISSUE ACROSS SEVERAL YEARS AND MAKES INCLUDING THE TRAVERSE.
ENGINE POWER DROPPED SIGNIFICANTLY ON A TWO LANE HWY. TRAVELING AT 60 MPH. ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED AND EXPERIENCED ROAD RAGE FROM DRIVER BEHIND ME. SCARY. I THEN NOTICED A SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING, AND ENGINE SPEED REDUCTION NOTICE. CRUISE CONTROL WOULD NOT FUNCTION. THIS WARNING WILL CLEAR ITSELF BUT CONTINUES TO OCCUR. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY CAN NOT IDENTIFY IT EVEN WHEN THE WARNING AND CONDITION IS ACTIVE. VEH. MILEAGE 126700.
POWER STEERING BEGIN TO GO OUT AND NOW FLUID IS CONTINUOUSLY LEAKING HAD IT CHECKED BY A MECHANIC WHICH STATED THAT IT WAS A MANUFACTURED MALFUNCTION AND SHOULD CHECK FOR A RECALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED AND VARIOUS WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BODY CONTROL MODULE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BCM FUSE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE WAS PERSISTENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 78,140.
I WAS GOING HOME FROM WORK IN THE MIDDLE OF 4-LANE RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC GOING ACROSS AN INTERSECTION. WITH NO WARNING, NO LIGHTS COMING ON OR ANYTHING MY CAR BEGAN TO LOSE ACCELERATION AND STOPPED THEN IT JUST WOULD NOT MOVE AT ALL! THE TOW TRUCK HAD A HARD TIME GETTING THE CAR ONTO HIS TRUCK AS THE WHEELS LOCKED UP..............NO WARNING LIGHTS, NEVER SLIPPED NEVER HAD ANY TRANSMISSION ISSUES.
PECKING SOUND STARTS WHEN DOOR IS OPEN AND GET FASTER WHEN CAR IS STARTED BUT QUITS SHORTLY AFTER. WILL START PECKING SOMETIMES WHEN ITS JUST SETTING NOT IN USE.
MY TRANSMISSION WENT. I DROVE IT ONE DAY AND THE NEXT I GET IN IT START IT UP PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE AND PRESS THE ACCELERATOR AND THE CAR WON'T MOVE. I THEN PUT IT IN REVERSE AND I COULD USE THE ACCELERATOR TO GO BACKWARDS. NEVER HAD ANY WARNING AND NO LIGHTS EVER LIT UP ON MY DASHBOARD.

VEHICLE STOPPED MOVING FORWARD AND BARELY GOT OFF THE ROAD TO SAFETY THE TRANSMISSION WAS IN DRIVE AND WOULD NOT MOVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO GM DEALER. VEHICLE MILEAGE 50,799 TRANSMISSION MAJOR FAILURE, NO FORWARD OR REVERSE MOTION
MY IGNITION KEY LOCKS AT TIMES. I AM SURE TO PARK STRAIGHT WITHOUT TURNED WHEELS OR CRAMPED. I FINALLY CAN START THE CAR BY TWISTING THE STEERING WHEEL AND IT THEN LOCKS AND FINALLY THE KEY CONNECTS. I WAS TOLD THAT MAY BE A TUMBLER PROBLEM? JUST A WORRY AS I AM 82 AND ALWAYS ON MY MIND WHEN I TRAVEL. ONE TIME IT DID JUST DIE AS I WAS DRIVING. HAPPEN TO BE IN CITY WHERE I WAS ABLE TO COAST INTO PARKING LOT. IT STARTED UP AND DID FINE THEN. THAT WAS SCAREY!

IN ADDITION, THE TRACTION CONTROL AND CHECK ENGINE INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 155,000.
THROTTLE ARM REPLACED FOR THIRD TIME
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE KEY WOULD NOT EJECT FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH. THE FAILURE OCCURRED TWICE. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE SHIFTER WIRE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED THE FIRST TIME, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 139,000.
GEAR WILL NOT GO OUT OF PARK. THIS ISSUE HAS HAPPENED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS AND THE CAR HAS TO BE TOWED. THIS IS NOT SAFE AS THERE IS NO WARNING AND THIS CAN OCCUR AT ANY GIVEN TIME OR PLACE.

IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT A LOUD SQUEAKING SOUND EMITTED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE A COMPUTERIZED ENGINE ANALYSIS AND EMISSIONS CHECK WERE PERFORMED. IN ADDITION, A VAPOR CANISTER, A VENT SOLENOID, AND A FUEL TANK VENT VALVE WERE REPLACED. THE CONTACT ALSO RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V507000 (AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND WAS TO CHECK WITH THE MANUFACTURER TO DETERMINE WHEN THE DEALER MAY BE ABLE TO SCHEDULE A REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
MY AIR BAGS KEEP MAKING A LOUD NOISE EVERY FEW MINUTES.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED THREE TIMES; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 46,801.
THE ANTIFREEZES IT GUM UP THE MOTOR THE ORANGE ANTIFREEZES.
VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION TRAVELING DOWN A STRAIGHT ROAD STRETCH WHEN IT STARTED MAKING CLUNKING NOISES. TOOK CAR OFF ROAD AND PUT IT IN PARK. NOISE STOPPED. ATTEMPTED TO PUT THE CAR INTO GEAR AND WAS UNABLE TO GET THE CAR OUT OF PARK. VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TO REPAIR FACILITY
AIR BAG CHECK LIGHT GOES OFF AND ON. WHILE DRIVING ON LOCAL OR HIGHWAY ROADS THE LIGHTS WILL FLASH AND THE CHECK AIR BAG LIGHT WILL BE DISPLAYED OR IF ALREADY DISPLAYED WILL TURN OFF. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR OVER A MONTH NOW!
I HAVE HAD 3 SPECIAL COVERAGE ORDERS LETTERS IN THE PASS YEAR ON MY CAR. !. STABILITRAK LIGHT TC. 2.HARNESSTHROTTLE BODY. 3. IGNITION KEY.I'M ALSO HAVING PROBLEM WITH MY SUSPENSION .AND POWER STEERING.I CALL GM AND HAVE TAKEN MY CAR IN FOR BY GM REQUIRE AND THE SERVICES REPAIR MEN SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND NO CODES ON THEIR SCANN.
MY 2010 CHEVROLET IMPALA IGNITION KEY IS STUCK IN THE IGNITION, I DID GET THE KEY FIXED UNDER THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 14V355000 FROM A QUALIFIED CHEVROLET REPAIR CENTER. FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND, THIS HAS BECOME AN EVER INCREASING PROBLEM. THIS NEEDS TO BE A RECALL. I WILL BE CONTACTING GM CORP. ALONG WITH THE NHTSA AND WILL FOLLOW UP WITH THE INFORMATION OR (EXCUSES) OF WHY THIS IS SOMEHOW MY PROBLEM. THIS CAR HAS ONLY 40,000 MILES. IT'S FUNNY HOW GM IS NOT SIMPLY REPLACING ALL IGNITIONS WITH NEW KEYS. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND I FOR ONE WILL NOT LET THIS REST UNTIL I'M SATISFIED, MY WIFE DRIVES THIS CAR AND UNLIKE GM CORP. SAFETY IS MY NUMBER ONE CONCERN.I'M NOT A MECHANIC BUT I DO ALL GENERAL MAINTENANCE ON OUR CARS AND THIS PISSES ME OFF. IF NOISE NEEDS TO BE MADE TO RESOLVE THIS, THEN NOISE YOU WILL HEAR. 2010 CHEVROLET IMPALA LS: MY IMPALA SEEMS TO STEER HARD AND HURTS MY HANDS WHEN TRAVELING ON TRIP GOING TO TAKE TO LOCAL GARAGE AND SEE WHAT IT IS ,ALSO THE DRIVER SEAT SNAPS WHEN YOU SIT IN IT.
THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ABOUT 45 MILES AN HR WHEN IT BEGAN TO SUDDENLY LOSE SPEED ONCE IT STOPPED I WAS ABLE TO COAST IT TO THE LIGHT. I CUT THE CAR OFF AN IT STARTED BACK UP. I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND WHY IT DID THAT SO I PROCEEDED TO FIND A NEAR GAS STATION.. IT STARTED TO RUN AGAIN AND I PROCEEDED TO GO HOME WHEN IT DID IT AGAIN (LOST SPEED WHILE THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING) STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS HAD THE ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY CHECKED AND BOTH ARE FINE.. THIS WAS VERY DANGEROUS!
I HEARD A VERY LOUD CLICKING SOUND FROM MY PARKED VEHICLE. UPON ENTERING, I NOTICED THAT THE PASSENGER AIR BAG ON INDICATOR LIGHT WAS LIT. I PRESSED IT IN WITH MY FINGER AND THE LIGHT WENT FROM ON TO OFF. I DROVE FOR A FEW MINUTES, THEN STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND RESTARTED. THE PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT STAYED ON.

AS I WAS DRIVING ON A STATE ROUTE, ALERTS APPEARED FOR "SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL" AND THEN "SERVICE STABILITRAK" FOLLOWED BY "ENGINE POWER REDUCED". THE ENGINE LIGHT ALSO CAME ON. I PULLED OVER AND SHUT THE CAR OFF, WAITING A FEW MINUTES BEFORE RESTARTING. THE MESSAGES STOPPED, BUT THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL ON. I DROVE A FEW MORE MILES AND APPROACHED THE ON-RAMP TO THE INTERSTATE. AS I ACCELERATED TO MERGE ONTO THE INTERSTATE, THE SAME ALERTS CAME BACK ON IN ADDITION TO "STARTING DISABLED, SERVICE THROTTLE". SHORTLY THEREAFTER, MY CAR BECAME COMPLETELY DISABLED AND SHUT DOWN AS I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE- THE ENGINE CUT OFF, NO POWER STEERING, NO ACCELERATION!! THANKFULLY, I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY PULL OFF THE SIDE OF THE INTERSTATE. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED AND THE CAR STARTED RIGHT UP AND SEEMS TO RUN FINE AT THE REPAIR SHOP. WORRIED WHEN AND WHERE IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE LINE THAT GOES TO THE OIL SENSOR WAS CORRODED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO FIND A FAILURE; HOWEVER, THEY REMOVED THE PART AND INSPECTED IT AND PUT THE PART BACK TOGETHER. AFTERWARDS, THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000.

I JUST BOUGHT A USED 2010 IMPALA WITH APPROXIMATELY 210000 MILES. WHEN I TURN ON THE VEHICLE, THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS CONSTANTLY ON AND THE DRIVER'S INFORMATION SYSTEM INDICATES THAT THE AIRBAGS NEED TO BE SERVICED. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THEY HAVE NOT YET BEEN ABLE TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. IF THERE ARE ANY CHANGES, I WILL REPORT THEM. I AM VERY CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF MYSELF OR MY PASSENGERS WITH THIS ISSUE.

THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER LEVER IS STUCK IN PARK AND THE KEY IS STUCK IN THE IGNITION SWITCH DUE TO A VERY POOR ELECTRICAL DESIGN. THE ELECTRICAL WIRES ATTACHED TO THE CONNECTOR THAT OPERATES THE SOLENOID THAT UNLOCKS THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER BUTTON IN THE PARK POSITION AND THAT ALSO CONNECTS TO THE IGNITION SWITCH AND OPERATES VARIOUS FUNCTIONS SUCH AS RELEASING THE IGNITION KEY AND ALLOWS THE VEHICLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM TO BE COMPLETELY TURNED OFF ,BREAKS OFF DUE TO ELECTRICAL WIRES BEING TOO SHORT AND THE BACK AND FORTH MOVEMENT OF THE SHIFTER . CHECKING THE ONLINE BLOGS THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN HAPPENING ON SEVERAL GM VEHICLES FOR SOME TIME WITHOUT ANY RECALLS DESPITE CONSTANT CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS DUE TO THE VERY POOR DESIGN. SOME DEALERS HAVE SUGGESTED LEAVING THE KEY IN THE IGNITION SWITCH AND UNLOCKING AND LOCKING THE VEHICLE WITH THE KEY FOB. THIS INVITES VEHICLE THEFT AND BY NOT HAVING THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM COMPLETELY TURNED OFF, THE BATTERY RUNS DOWN AS THE ACCESSORIES AND IGNITION IS STILL TURNED ON AND THE TRANSMISSION LIGHTS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL REMAINS LIGHTED. SOME CUSTOMERS HAVE HAD REPEAT REOCCURRENCES AFTER HAVING THE ISSUE REPAIRED AT A COST OF BETWEEN $500 AND $600. AFTER INSPECTING THE OPERATION OF THE SHIFTER AND THE AFFECT IT HAS ON THE ELECTRICAL WIRING IT IS OBVIOUS THAT THE WIRING WILL FAIL AND IN THE BLOGS AS EARLY AS WHILST UNDER WARRANTEE. I AM CONCERNED IF THERE ARE ANY OTHER ISSUES THAT MAY OCCUR ESPECIALLY SAFETY ONES AS THERE IS 5 WIRES I DO NOT KNOW THE FUNCTION OF EACH WIRE . CAN YOU PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE.
2010 CHEVROLET IMPALA. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE SUDDEN ACCELERATION CAUSED BY STICKY THROTTLE ACCIDENTS BEFORE RECEIVING ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION PEDAL SENSOR AND THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR RECALL NOTICES. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED SHE WAS BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, WHEN THE VEHICLE TOOK OFF LIKE A MISSILE. IT TRAVELED ACROSS THE STREET, JUMPED A CURB AND HIT A PARKED VEHICLE IN THE DRIVEWAY CAUSING DAMAGE TO BOTH VEHICLES. THE DEALER CLAIMED THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE ACCELERATOR. HOWEVER, THE ACCIDENT WAS CAUSED BY A STICKY THROTTLE. WHEN THE SECOND ACCIDENT OCCURRED, THE CONSUMER WAS ATTEMPTING TO BACK THE VEHICLE UP, BUT INSTEAD IT ACCELERATED BACKWARDS AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED MAKING A HIGH PITCH WHINING NOISE. THE CONSUMER QUICKLY APPLIED THE BRAKE. HOWEVER, IT NOT REDUCE THE SPEED. THE CONSUMER HIT AN OAK TREE, AND IN DOING SO, CAUSED THE TREE TO FALL ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. BETWEEN THE FIRST AND SECOND ACCIDENT, THE THROTTLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE ACCELERATOR WAS REPLACED. *JB
DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY, TRACTION CONTROL WARNING CAME ON, THEN A WARNING THAT ENGINE POWER REDUCED, THE CAR SLOWED DOWN FROM 65 TO 0 IN ABOUT 10 SECONDS. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO THE SHOULDER TO AVOID GETTING HIT, AND SHUT THE CAR OFF. WHEN I TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR, IT WOULD NOT TURN OVER. I SAT THERE FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES AND TRIED TO START THE CAR AGAIN. I WAS ABLE TO START IT AND GET GOING AGAIN FINALLY, BUT WAS VERY NERVOUS TO DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY ESPECIALLY SINCE I HAD MY GRANDCHILD IN THE CAR WITH ME AND CARS WERE BEHIND ME. THE SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER TO THE CAR COULD HAVE ENDED UP TRAGICALLY.
ON OR ABOUT MAY 17, 2015, I RECEIVED NOTICE FROM THE CHEVROLET DIVISION OF GENERAL MOTORS THAT MY VEHICLE "MAY HAVE A BROKEN SOLDER CONNECTION WITHIN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION (APP) SENSOR. THIS CONDITION MAY RESULT IN REDUCED ENGINE POWER AND LOSS OF TRACTION CONTROL ASSIST." ACCORDING TO THEM, I WILL KNOW WHEN MY INFORMATION CENTER DISPLAYS THE WARNING AND THEN THEY WILL BE WILLING TO CORRECT THEIR POOR WORKMANSHIP, BUT NOT UNTIL THAT TIME. GM GOES ON TO INFORM ME THAT I MAY BE WITHOUT MY CAR FOR AN EXTENDED LENGTH OF TIME WHILE THEY ORDER PARTS AND DO REPAIRS. I DON'T SEE WHY I SHOULD BE THE ONE WHO WILL BE INCONVENIENCED FOR THEIR LACK OF PROPER WORKMANSHIP. FURTHERMORE, I FEEL THERE IS A SAFETY ISSUE HERE ALSO. GM NEEDS TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM BEFORE IT CAUSES NEEDLESS HARM TO SOMEONE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRUNK LOCKED AND WAS UNABLE TO BE OPENED. WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED, THE TURN SIGNALS ALSO FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE 12 VOLT RELAY TO THE TRUNK RELEASE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR SEAT WOULD NOT GO DOWN AND THERE WAS NO KEY ENTRY FOR THE TRUNK. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000. UPDATED 7/16/15*CN
LATELY AS I AM DRIVING A MESSAGE POPS UP ON THE DASH. IT SAYS SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, SERVICE STABILITRAK AND SERVICE BRAKE ASSIST. ALSO THE ABS LIGHT IS ON AND THE NO TRACTION LIGHT IS ON. THE REASON I AM REPORTING THIS IS BECAUSE I AM HEARING PEOPLE WHO HAVE THE SAME MODEL BUT DIFFERENT YEAR SAY THEY ARE THE SAME PROBLEM.
THE DRIVER SEAT BELT IS STICKING AND WILL NOT LATCH. IF YOU DO GET IT TO LATCH IT WILL UNLATCH WITH THE SLIGHTEST MOVEMENT. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. THEY TOLD ME THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO GET THE LATCH UNSTUCK. THEY TOLD ME IT WAS A FAULTY MECHANISM AND THAT IT WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED, BUT THEY DO NOT JUST REPLACE THE LATCH, THEY WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE LATCH AND THE ENTIRE SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY WITH THE TENSIONER. HOWEVER THEY DID NOT HAVE THIS ITEM IN STOCK AND THEY WOULD HAVE TO ORDER IT AND I WOULD HAVE TO BRING THE VEHICLE BACK FOR THE REPAIRS. IN THE MEAN TIME I AM DRIVING WITH A FAULTY SEAT BELT THAT IS NOT ONLY A SAFETY ISSUE BUT A LEGAL ISSUE. I MUST WEAR MY SEATBELT - IT IS THE LAW. BUT UNFORTUNATELY IT WILL NOT LATCH. *TR

LOUD TICKING SOUND COMING FROM PASSENGER SIDE VENT. I HAVE CHECKED WITH OTHER OWNERS OF CHEVYS WHO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS GOING BACK ABOUT 6 YRS+- WITH IMPALAS AND MALIBU'S. THERE ARE 3 MOTORS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE THAT GO BAD, WHEN ONE IS FIXED THEN AND OTHER TWO GO BAD SHORTLY AFTER. THE COST RANGE IS ABOUT $600.00. I HAVE BEEN ON THE PHONE WITH GM AND THE DEALER WITH NO SATISFACTION. I AM TOLD THE I HAVE TO PAY THEIR HOURLY RATE TO HAVE THIS INSPECTED, THEN THE REPLACEMENT COST. TWICE THIS WEEK WHILE DRIVING AT AROUND 55 MPH MY TRACTION CONTROL AND STABILIZATION LIGHT CAME ON ALSO THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. AND A MESSAGE THAT SPEED IS REDUCED. THE CAR DID SLOW DOWN AND FELT LIKE MY TRANSMISSION WAS GIVING ME PROBLEMS.
