AFTER PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE WITHIN 30 DAYS THE AIR BAG SYSTEM LIGHT CAME ON I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO FUTURE NISSAN OF FOLSOM AND THEY STATED THAT I WOULD HAVE TO CALL THE WARRANTY PEOPLE THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT. A WEEK LATER I NOTICED WHEN I SLOW DOWN USING THE BREAKS IT MAKES A SHAKING SOUND, MAKING THE WHOLE CAR SHAKE. THIS VEHICLE ALSO HAS NO COVERAGE WHEN PUMPING GAS I NOTICED THE SILVER CAP INSIDE THAT'S SUPPOSE TO REMAIN CLOSED UNTIL YOU PUT THE GAS PUMP IN THERE IN ALWAYS OPEN, WHICH ALLOWS AIR TO GET INSIDE. MY POWERTRAIN IS NOT ACCELERATIONS PROPERLY, IT TAKES ABOUT A MINUTE FOR IT TO CATCH ITS GEAR. *TR

WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE MY VISIBILITY BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO BE ABLE TO CONTINUE DRIVING. MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOP WORKING, SO I HAD TO PULL OFF THE INTERSTATE BECAUSE OF POOR VISIBILITY. WHEN I WAS DRIVING TO WORK MY CAR SUDDENLY LOST ITS TRACTION CONTROL,THE ENGINE WENT TO HAVE POWER AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. IT HAPPENS VERY FAST, AND NOW MY CAR WONT GO OVER 40 MILES PER HOUR. I RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET I SEE LOTS OF PEOPLE HAVING THIS PROBLEM SO I WANTED TO REPORT IT.
STARTING IN DEC 2014 WHILE DRIVING AT RANDOM SPEEDS, THE 2010 CHEVY IMPALA WILL JERK HARD AND THEN THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT WILL COME ON. UPON THIS HAPPENING, THE REDUCE ENGINE SPEED APPEARS IN THE DISPLAY AS WELL AS SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, AND SERVICE STABILITY. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING WITH VARIOUS SPEEDS AND VARIOUS WEATHER CONDITIONS. IF YOU PULL OVER AND TURN CAR OFF FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES, IT WILL START RIGHT BACK UP AND ENGINE REDUCED WILL NO LONGER BE ON THE DISPLAY. *TR

RECENTLY I TOOK MY 2010 CHEVY IMPALA TO BE SERVICED FOR A LOUD TICKING NOISE COMING FROM THE DASH BOARD BY THE AIR CONDITIONER VENTS, BY RESEARCHING A LITTLE BEFORE I TOOK IT IN TO BE SERVICED IT WAS SAID TO BE A KNOWN PROBLEM FOR SEVERAL YEARS IN THESE CARS. I THINK THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL. I EXPLAINED THAT TO HIM AND HE SAID BECAUSE IT IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE IT IS NOT CONSIDERED FOR RECALL. I DISAGREE THE TICKING COMES OUT OF KNOW WHERE IT IS LOUD AND DOES NOT STOP IT COULD DRIVE SOMEONE INSANE NOT TO MENTION CAUSE AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE YOU ARE TRYING ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING TO GET IT TO STOP . SOMETIMES IT DOES BUT THEN STARTS RIGHT UP AGAIN VERY STRESSFUL TO SAY THE LEAST ESPECIALLY WHEN IT HAPPENS WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING. I FEEL THAT CHEVROLET SHOULD HAVE HAD THIS KNOWN ACTUATOR PROBLEM RECALLED AND FIXED SEVERAL YEARS AGO WHEN THEY KNEW AND STILL KNOW THAT IT IS A PROBLEM.IN MY OPPINION IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE THE LOUD TICKING COMES OUT OF KNOW WHERE SOMETIMES WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING IT SCARES AND STARTLES YOU.IT POTENTIALLY CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR YEARS I THINK CHEVEROLET SHOULD BE HELD REPONSIBLE FOR THIS DEFECT AND NOT MAKE THE CONSUMER PAY FOR THEIR PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR THAT HAS BEEN SINCE ATLEAST 2008 AND IS STILL NOT FIXED .

2010 CHEVROLET IMPALA IGNITION DESIGN ISSUE CW THE CONSUMER STATED THE MODIFICATION WAS DONE IN A TIMELY AND COST-FREE MANNER. HOWEVER, THE SOLUTION DID NOT ADDRESS THE MECHANICAL ISSUE OF THE IGNITION DESIGN. *JB
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: I AM WRITING THIS LETTER ON BEHALF OF MY PARENTS FOR THE GREAT ABUSE THAT HAS BEEN DONE TO THEM. ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO THEY WERE REALLY EXCITED BECAUSE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THERE LIFE AFTER LIVING HERE FOR CLOSE TO 40 YEARS THEY WOULD HAVE BOUGHT A CAR FROM A DEALERSHIP! A FAIRLY NEW CAR, FIRST CAR FROM A LOCAL AGENCY IN MADERA. THE NAME OF THE DEALER: MADERA CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE. THEY SOLD MY PARENTS A DEFECTIVE FROM THE BEGINNING. THEY KNEW ABOUT THE RECALLS SINCE 10/13/2010 AND 05/25/2010 THIS WAS BEFORE THEY EVEN PURCHASED THE CAR 11/26/2011. THEY ARE DOING UNLAWFUL SALES TO VULNERABLE POOR CUSTOMERS AND ARE NOT IN COMPLIANCE. ACCORDING TO GENERAL MOTORS IT IS AND WAS COMPLETELY THE CAR DEALERSHIPS RESPONSIBILITY TO FIX THESE RECALLS (PLEASE SEE ATTACHED LIST OF RECALLS). THEIR SOLUTION IS TO WELL PURCHASE A NEW CAR FROM THEM. THEY STILL HAVE OUR CAR AND HAVE MADE NO INTENT TO FIX IT. PLEASE HELP US PUT A STOP TO THIS BAD AND CORRUPT SALES MANAGER WHO TAKES ADVANTAGE OF HISPANIC LATINOS WHO DON?T READ OR SPEAK SPANISH. I OWN A 2010 CHEVROLET IMPALA. I STARTED MY CAR AND IT WAS SPUTTERING AND KNOCKING WHICH IT HAS NEVER DONE BEFORE. THE MESSAGE ON MY COMPUTER DISPLAY READ " REDUCED ENGINE POWER " AND " SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL" I TURNED IT OFF AND LET IT SIT FOR A MOMENT AND THEN UPON RESTARTING EVERYTHING WAS BACK TO NORMAL. I HAVE NOTICE THAT SAME MESSAGE PRIOR TO TODAY BUT ONLY BRIEFLY BUT UNTIL TODAY HAD NOT EXPERIENCED THE SPUTTERING AND KNOCKING. THROUGH RESEARCH I SEE THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND A DANGEROUS ONE TO HAVE WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT ACCELERATION PEDAL MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED BUT THE CONTACT WAS NOT GIVEN A SPECIFIC DIAGNOSIS. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO WAITING FOR PARTS TO SCHEDULE A RECALL REPAIR FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 14V355000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND STATED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE DEALER DID NOT GIVE A SPECIFIC DATE FOR WHEN THE PART WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND COULD NOT PROVIDE AN ESTIMATED DATE FOR WHEN THE CONTACTS VEHICLE WOULD RECEIVE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED PERTAINING TO THE FAILURE WHICH WAS GETTING PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED NO REMEDY. DRIVING ON HIGHWAY WHEN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON FOLLOWED BY ALTERNATING "SERVICE STABILITRAK" "SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL" "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" MESSAGES. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE DRIVING THE TRANSMISSION BEGAN TO SHIFT HARD FROM FIRST TO SECOND. BY THE TIME I GOT HOME AND PARKED IN THE GARAGE (APPROXIMATELY 3 MILES FROM START OF INCIDENT), THE VEHICLE WAS MAKING A LOUD CLANGING NOISE. VEHICLE DELIVERED TO KOOL CHEVROLET IN GRAND RAPIDS MICHIGAN ON 11/4/14. THEY HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE SINCE. THE ONLY THING THEY HAVE FOUND IS THAT THE COMPUTER INDICATES THE CODES WENT OFF WHILE THE CAR WAS PARKED. OTHERWISE, THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM. I AM WORRIED ABOUT DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND THIS INCIDENT HAPPENING AGAIN. I DO A LOT OF HIGHWAY DRIVING AND THE SUDDEN REDUCTION IN SPEED IS A HAZARD AND COULD LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT. *TR
2001 CHEVROLET IMPALA QUIT AT 30 MPH *CW THE CONSUMER STATED ON TWO OTHER OCCASIONS, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. THE DEALER REPLACED THE IGNITION. AFTER THE IGNITION WAS REPLACED, THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO SHUT OFF. THE CONSUMER FINALLY TRADED THE VEHICLE I 2011. *JB

PULLED INTO THE GAS STATION TO PUMP GAS, AFTER PUMPING GAS, THE CAR WOULD NOT START. HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A MECHANIC WHO LOOKED AT THE VEHICLE AND DETERMINED THE FAULTY IGNITION SWITCH IS CAUSE OTHER PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE. I CAN NOT GET THE OTHER ISSUES CORRECTED UNLESS GM FIXES THE FAULTY IGNITION SWITCH FOR RECALL #14299. I HAVE CALLED SEVERAL DEALERSHIPS IN THE AREA, AND NONE OF THEM HAVE THE PART NEEDED TO FIX MY CAR. I PURCHASED THIS CAR IN 2010, AND HAVE HAD MANY PROBLEM WITH IT SINCE 2011. THE FUEL PUMP WAS CHANGED 2 TIMES AND THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN REPLACED 1 TIME. I ENCOURAGE THE NHTSA TO LOOK INTO THE ENTIRE VEHICLE AND NOT JUST THE FAULTY IGNITION SWITCH. GM HAS FAILED THE CONSUMER IN MANY WAYS, AND I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH MY GM CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE. I'M A SINGLE PARENT AND NEED MY VEHICLE TO RUN AND RUN SAFELY. *TR
WHILE DRIVING WITH A PASSENGER IN THE FRONT SEAT, THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WOULD SWITCH OFF FOR NO REASON WITHOUT THE PASSENGER MOVING. THIS HAPPENED A NUMBER OF TIMES OVER ABOUT A WEEK. THEN ON FRIDAY OCTOBER 3RD, 2014 IT HAPPENED AGAIN AND THIS TIME RIGHT AFTER IT HAPPENED ALL THE GAUGES DROPPED INCLUDING FUEL, MPH, RPM, ETC... SO I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT AND BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO STOP, THE COMPUTER MODULE IN THE CAR DIED AS WELL AS THE ENGINE. I ENDED UP HITTING A LIGHT POST IN THE PARKING LOT WHILE AVOIDING A PEDESTRIAN. THE CAR HAS SINCE CEASED TO START AT ALL. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS HURT BUT THIS CAR WAS CLEARLY NOT SAFE. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AND SUDDENLY I HEARD A POPPING SOUND AND I NOTICED THE CAR WASN'T ACCELERATING NORMALLY SO I MADE IT TO MY DESTINATION AND I STARTED THE CAR UP WENT TO PUT IT IN DRIVE AND IT WOULDN'T ACCELERATE IS WAS THOUGH THE CAR WAS IN NEUTRAL SO I PUT IT IN REVERSE AND IT WENT INTO REVERSE PUT IT 3RD GEAR WOULDN'T ACCELERATE THE I TRIED 2CD GEAR AND IT DROVE KIND OF RUFF SO I THEN TRIED 1ST GEAR AND AND I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT HOME AT 15 MPH SO I TOOK THE CAR TO THE CHEVY DEALER I BOUGHT IT FROM AND TO MY SURPRISE THEY SAY THERE WERE SOME DEFECTIVE PARTS IN THE TRANSMISSION AND THEY COULD REBUILD THE TRANSMISSION FOR 2100 DOLLARS AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY 850 TO HAVE IT FIXED BECAUSE MY CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY AS 7/23/14 THE CAR HAS THE AIRBAG SERVICE LIGHT AND TIRE SENSOR LIGHT THAT APPEARS ON THE DASHBOARD . *TR
