THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE A SPECIFIC DATE FOR WHEN THE PART WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE. I WAS GOING DOWN INTERSTATE 86 AT 65 MILES AN HOUR WHEN IGNITION JUST SHUT OFF, HAD MY 4 YEAR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER IN CAR. I NOTIFIED MY DEALER WHO THEN TOLD ME TO CONTACT ELM CHEVROLET IN ELMIRA. I DID TALKED TO "[XXX]" WHO NOTIFIED ME THAT PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE YET. I THEN CALLED THE 800 NUMBER AND WAS TREATED THE MOST RUDELY I HAVE EVER BEEN TREATED. I HAVE ONLY BEEN USING THE KEY ALONE. THEN TODAY I WAS PULLING OUT OF WAL-MART PARKING LOT INTO TRAFFIC, WHEN THE SAME THING HAPPENED. 'THE REP ON THE 800 NUMBER TOLD ME "DON'T USE THE KEY" TO WHICH I RESPONDED THAT I DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO HOT WIRE A CAR. THIS CAR IS DANGEROUS, NOT ONLY WILL I HAVE TO DRIVE 20 MILES ON A HIGHWAY TO HAVE IT FIXED, BUT DO NOT KNOW WHEN IT CAN BE FIXED. THE MOTOR FOR THE AIR CONDITIONING SPROCKET BECAME WORN AND IT KEEPS ON SKIPPING ON THE TRACK.IT SENDS AMPERAGE BACK TO THE CONTROL CIRCUIT.IT THROWS OUT MY COMPUTER IN THE CAR.I GET ALL KINDS OF MALFUNCTIONS.THIS CAN BECOME VERY DANGEROUS. *TR
MY SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON. I HAD IT CHECKED OUT. THE PASSENGER SEAT SENSOR IS FAULTY OR HAS FAULTY WIRING. IT'S A NEWER VEHICLE, I CURRENTLY HAVE 72,000 MILES ON IT. AND IS A SAFETY CONCERN FOR ANYBODY ESPECIALLY MY KIDS WHO RIDES IN MY PASSENGER SEAT. THE SENSOR WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE ANY WEIGHT ON THE SEAT AND WILL NOT ACTIVATE IF I WERE TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT. I CALLED UP A WHILE BACK AND PUT IN A COMPLAINT. SOMEBODY CALLED ME BACK BUT NEVER ANSWERED MY PHONE OR MESSAGES I HAD LEFT. I'VE RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE AND HAVE NOTICED THERE'S A LOT OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I EXPECT CHEVY TO STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT AND ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. THANK YOU
COMING OFF OF A FREEWAY, THE EXIT IS A WIDE CURVE. ABOUT HALF WAY THROUGH THE TURN (GOING TOWARD THE RIGHT) THE ENGINE TURNED OFF. LOST ALL POWER STEERING AND BRAKES. FORTUNATELY, I AM STRONG ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO MUSCLE THE CAR THROUGH THE REST OF THE CURVE AND PULL OVER TO SAFETY. THE MUSCLING CAUSED MINOR INJURY TO LEFT SHOULDER. CAR DID RESTART WITHOUT A PROBLEM. *TR
THE CAR KEEPS RUNNING AFTER IT IS TURNED OFF. THE FAN ALSO KEEPS RUNNING, THEN THE NEXT MORNING THE CAR WOULDN'T START. THE AIR WON'T TURN DOWN AND SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T WORK AT ALL. THERE DOESN'T SEEM TO BE A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AIR AND DEFROST. WHILE I AM DRIVING, THE LIGHT KEEP GETTING DIM, THEN BRIGHTER, THEN DIM, THEN BRIGHT. IT WAS THE NEXT MORNING THEN WHEN IT WOULDN'T START! SOMETIMES WHEN WE PUT THE KEY IN, WE COULDN'T GET IT OUT. WE HAD TO KEEP TRYING TO TURN IT ON AND OFF, THEN IT FINALLY LET US TAKE THE KEY OUT. *TR

WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE "SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL" MESSAGE COMES ON, THEN, THE MESSAGES "SERVICE STABILITY TRAK" THEN "ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED". AND THEN THE CAR SHUTS DOWN I HAD TO QUICKLY PULL OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. AFTER A FEW MINUTES THE CAR STARTS UP AND EVERYTHING IS FINE. THIS HAPPENED TWICE SINCE THEN. EVERY COUPLE MONTHS THE SENSOR LIGHTS WOULD COME ON WITH THE ABOVE MESSAGE-WITHOUT CAR SHUTTING DOWN. THE LIGHTS COME ON A LOT MORE OFTEN NOW-ALTHOUGH THE CAR DOES NOT SHUT DOWN, IT'S THE FEAR OF THE POSSIBILITY. WHEN GOOGLING THIS PROBLEM WITH THE CAR IT SOUNDS LIKE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. I'M NOT SURE WHY THERE HASN'T BEEN A RECALL. I'M BRINGING IN MY CAR TOMORROW TO GET FIXED. HOWEVER, ITS UPSETTING THAT THERE SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR, AND THERE WAS A RECALL ON A GMC TRUCK IN 2008 FOR THIS PROBLEM. MY SON WHILE DRIVING HIGHWAY SPEEDS 60-70MPH, THE CAR DISPLAY WOULD SAY "REDUCED POWER" FOLLOWED BY "SERVICE STABILLATRAC", "SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL". SHUTTING CAR DOWN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. SHUT CAR OFF FOR 5-10 MINUTES AND WOULD B FINE FOR A WEEK, A MONTH, SIX MONTHS!!! THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON INTERMITTENTLY FOR OVER A YEAR!! CAR NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND CANNOT AFFORD TO TAKE TO DEALER EVERY TIME IT HAPPENS, NEEDLESS TO SAY NO ONE DRIVES IT BUT ME. HAVE NOT TAKING TO DEALER BECAUSE RESEARCH ONLINE AND NOTHING SEEMS TO BE A SURE FIX!! OTHER PEOPLE ARE REPLACING THROTTLEBODY,S, GAS PEDALS, GAS CAPS, ABS SENSORS, VARIOUS WIRING HARNESSES, BATTERIES, GROUNDS, COMPUTERS WITHOUT ANY OF THEM BEING A SURE FIX. SOMEONE WILL OR MAY HAVE ALREADY BEEN KILLED BY THIS MALFUNCTION AND UNFORTUNATELY DID NOT LIVE TO SAY THE CAR DID THIS!!!! I KNOW FROM READING ONLINE FORUMS AND THE SUCH THAT THIS SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON OCCURANCE ON MULTIPLE YEARS OF THIS MODEL!! ALL OF THIS ON TOP OF A $2 KEY SWITCH FIX THAT TOOK HOW MANY TO DIE BEFORE ANYTHING WAS DONE!!!

FIRST TIME I WAS SLOWING DOWN TO MAKE LEFT TURN WHEN ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON THEN MESSAGE TO CHECK STABILIY TRAC AND THEN TRACTION CONTROL CAR LOST POWER WHILE MAKING TURN AND JERKED .I GOT THE CAR BACK HOME BY DRIVING AT LOW SPEED HAD TO SHUT OFF AND START SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE IT WOULD CLEAR AFTER IT CLEARED DROVE FINE FOR ABOUT TEN MILES AT LOW SPEED AS SOON AS I GOT UP TO50 MPH ENGINE LITE CAME ON STARTED JERKING AND LOST POWER AGAIN AGAIN MESSAGE THE SAME ONLY NOW ALL MESSAGES ARE MESSED UP EVERYTHING IS FOLLOWED BY CAL I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR AS IT IS VERY DANGEROUS .ONLY HAD THE CAR ONE MONTH BOUGHT IT ON 6/16/2014 FIRST PROBLEM HAPPENED ON 7/16/2014 SECOND 7/19/2014. *TR

I WAS DRIVING DOWN I-74 OUTSIDE PEORIA IL AND THE STABILITRAC POWER REDUCED POPPED UP ON THE DASH AND 3 SECONDS LATER IT STATED THE ANTI-THEFT ENGAGED AND SHUT MY CAR OFF. I ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED BY MULTIPLE CARS ON THE INTERSTATE. I WAS IN THE LEFT LANE AND BARELY MADE IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I EMAILED GM AND THEY HAVE NOT GOTTEN BACK TO ME YET. MY FAMILY AND I WERE TRAVELING FROM NEWARK, NJ FROM THE JULY 4TH HOLIDAY BACK HOME TO RALEIGH NC ON 95 SOUTH IN VIRGINIA AND GOING AT A SPEED OF 72MPH APPROX. AND THE CAR/ENGINE JUST TURNED OFF AT THAT RATE OF SPEED WITH 2 CHILDREN IN THE BACK SEAT OF THE VEHICLE. AFTER WE SAT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD FOR ABOUT 45MIN THE VEHICLE PROCEEDED TO START AND WE MADE IT HOME TO NC. THE FOLLOWING BUSINESS DAY AFTER THE HOLIDAY I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC GIAO AUTO LOCATED ON CAPITAL BLVD IN RALEIGH NC AND HE COULD NOT DETERMINE WHY THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF THE WAY IT DID. SO I CONTINUED TO DRIVE JUST WITH PRECAUTION. I RECEIVED A LETTER ON 8/21/2014 REGARDING THE RECALL AND WAS LIVID BECAUSE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MY FAMILY WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE! I BELIEVE THAT THIS MAY HAPPEN TO MY FAMILY AGAIN AND DO NOT WANT TO RISK THIS, SO I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT CAN BE DONE TO ENSURE THAT MY CHILDREN HAVE A SAFE VEHICLE. *TR

THE SERVICE STABILITRAK, TRACTION CONTROL, AND REDUCED ENGINE POWER WARNINGS CAME ON AND THE CAR STARTED TO LOSE POWER GOING AROUND A CURVE. I TEMPORARILY LOST THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE NEARLY CAUSING ME TO GET REAR ENDED BY A VEHICLE BEHIND ME. SINCE THE INCIDENT OCCURRED THE CAR HAS BEEN VERY SLUGGISH AND UNSAFE TO OPERATE. I AM PLANNING TO GET THIS SERVICED ASAP. AFTER READING MANY FORUM POSTS ONLINE REGARDING THIS SAFETY ISSUE, I BELIEVE A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED. I WAS SHOCKED TO SEE HOW RAMPANT OF A PROBLEM THIS AND THAT IT IS USUALLY CAUSED BY A FAULTY THROTTLE BODY THAT ISN'T COVERED IN THE 100K MILE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. MYSELF AND MANY OTHERS FROM WHAT I HAVE READ BELIEVE THIS TO BE A VERY DANGEROUS MALFUNCTION. IF THIS WERE TO HAPPEN AT HIGH SPEEDS ON THE HIGHWAY SOMEONE COULD VERY EASILY BE KILLED IF THEIR CAR LOSES POWER DUE TO THIS. *TR

I PURCHASED THE IMPALA ON JUNE 16, 2014, THERE WAS SOME POPPING NOISE FROM THE DASH BOARD ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE. THE SALE'S MANAGER HAD ME BRING THE CAR IN FOR REPAIR THE NEXT DAY. THE CAR WAS REPAIRED WITHIN 2-3 DAYS. I FOUND OUT IT WAS THE ACTUATOR SENSOR. IN JANUARY 2015 THE TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED. LUCKILY IT WAS UNDER THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. NOW 8 MONTHS LATER TO THE DATE (MARCH 12, 2015), THE STABILIZER TRACK-ENGINE REDUCE POWER LIGHT AND MESSAGE CAME. I CAME TO A STOP. I FOUND OUT IT IS THE SAME PROBLEM AND THE EXTENDED WARRANTY DOES NOT WANT TO COVER IT. UPON CRANKING THE CAR USING THE KEY, THE CAR STARTED TO MAKE A TICKING NOISE ON THE RIGHT SIDE APPEARING TO COME FROM THE ENGINE WHEN THE TEMPERATURE KNOB IS SET TO HEAT; HOWEVER, WHEN THE NOISE STOPS WHEN THE TEMPERATURE IS MOVED TO COLD AIR. THE CAR STARTED JERKING WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY MESSAGE PANEL SAID THAT THE STABILITRAC NEEDED SERVICE AND THAT ENGINE POWER WAS REDUCED AND THE TRACTION CONTROL NEEDED SERVICE. I HAD JUST BOUGHT THE CAR I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAID IT WAS SOMETHING SIMPLE AND FIXED IT. THE NEXT DAY IT HAPPENED AGAIN ONLY WORSE AND THE CAR WOULD NOT GO OVER 40 MPH. CAME BACK AS THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR. HAD THAT CHANGED TODAY(06-06-2014) AND CODE CLEARED OUT. WAS DOING GREAT UNILL THIS EVENING WHILE I WAS DRIVING HOME TONIGHT ,(06-06-2014),ON HIGHWAY DOING 56 M.P.H. AND CAR SHUT OFF. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM, AND REDUCED ENGINE POWER. I QUICKLY VEERED OFF INTO MEDIAN AND TURNED FLASHERS ON. THERE WERE SEVERAL CARS BEHIND ME. CAR WOULD NOT START RIGHT AWAY. AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES IT STARTED WITH ONLY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. MY CHILDREN AND I COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED HAD I NOT BEEN ABLE TO REACT AS QUICKLY AS I DID. WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ONE EVENING THE GAS PEDAL SEEMED TO HAVE A MIND OF ITS OWN. AS I REMOVED MY FOOT FROM THE GAS AND WHEN TO APPLY THE BRAKE THE GAS PEDAL DID NOT COME BACK UP AND WAS STUCK IN POSITION. THIS HAS SUBSEQUENTLY HAPPENED ON 2 OTHER OCCASIONS AS WELL. MY 2011 CHEVROLET IMPALA IS 3 YEARS AND 6 WEEKS OLD. AS MY LOCAL CHEVY DEALER (CHEVROLET OF HOMEWOOD IL) HAS INFORMED ME MY THROTTLE SENSOR IS STICKING CAUSING THE GAS PETAL TO STAY DOWN. COMMON SENSE WOULD TELL ANYONE THIS IS NOT A GOOD THING. I WAS INFORMED THAT BECAUSE MY WARRANTY EXPIRED 6 WEEKS AGO THAT THE $500. REPAIR TO REPLACE A SENSOR IS MY RESPONSIBILITY. NOW I UNDERSTAND THE WARRANTY EXPIRING. HOWEVER, A SENSOR ON THE THROTTLE IS A PART I BELIEVE SHOULD NOT GO BAD AFTER ONLY 40000 MILES. HOW MANY POTENTIAL ACCIDENTS ARE WAITING TO HAPPEN BECAUSE OF A PROBLEM LIKE THIS. THIS IS MY WIFE'S CAR AND SHE EXPERIENCED THE GAS PEDAL STICKING IN THE DOWN POSITION ON AT LEAST 3 OCCASIONS. I BROUGHT IT TO MY LOCAL DEALER AND WHEN THEY CHECKED IT, IT CAME UP STORED CODE P2122- ACCELERATOR PEDAL SENSOR. I HAVE HAD THIS CAR 6 MONTHS AND IT ONLY HAS 42426 MILES ON IT AND NOW I'VE HAD TO SPEND OVER $300 ON A REPAIR. IT IS RIDICULOUS THAT THIS SENSOR FAILED ALREADY. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, I FOUND THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH MANY PEOPLE EXPERIENCING THE SAME THING. GM SHOULD BE FORCED TO FIX THIS ISSUE AND REIMBURSE ALL OF US WHO HAVE HAD TO PAY TO FIX THEIR MISTAKE. THEY ARE OBVIOUSLY USING INFERIOR PARTS AND THEIR CONSUMERS ARE PAYING THE PRICE.
