MY CAR'S STABILITRACK, BARAKE ASSIST, AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS COME ON EVERYTIME I TURN THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE LEFT. THE CAR HESITATES WHEN GIVING GAS MAKING IT FOR A DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN GETTING INTO TRAFFIC
WHILE DRIVING AT NO MORE THAN 65 MPH ON THE FREEWAY THE CONTROL ARM GAVE OUT AND IT CAUSED LOSS OF CONTROL. THEN IT HIT THE BARRIER WALL AND THE 2 TIRE ON THE DRIVER SIDE BLEW ON CONTACT. TOWED TO MECHANIC AND THEY SAID THAT THE TIE RODS ALSO WENT OUT. THE BRAKES AND SHOCKS AND STRUTS WERE NEW AND IT IS REGULARLY IN THE SHOP FOR DIAGNOSTICS AND REPAIRS. THIS IS INEXCUSABLE AND THIS VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE COMPLETELY RECALLED AND TAKEN OUT OF CIRCULATION.
SERVICE STABILITRAK - REDUCED ENGINE POWER LIGHTS CAME ON ALONG WITH THE ENGINE LIGHT WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO NOT BE ABLE TO ACCELERATE TO THE APPROPRIATE SPEED.
CHECK ENGINE, FUEL TANK WILL NOT FILL, CAR RUNS OK
LOUD CLICKING NOISE COMING FROM INSIDE THE DASHBOARD. THE SOUND IS NEAR THE DRIVER SIDE PASSENGER SIDE. IT HAPPENS WHENEVER I UNLOCK THE DOORS OR DO ANYTHING WITH THE AIR CONDITIONING/HEATING CONTROLS. IT GOES ON FOR MINUTES AT A TIME WHEN I FIRST GET IN THE CAR AND HAPPENS ON AND OFF WHILE I'M DRIVING
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2012 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE REVERSING OUT OF A PARKING LOT, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE FINALLY STOPPED WHEN IT CRASHED INTO AN EMBANKMENT. THE PASSENGER WAS TAKEN TO SHERMAN ELGIN HOSPITAL TO RECEIVE MEDICAL ATTENTION FOR BACK, NECK, AND SHOULDER INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED BY THE POLICE TO AN UNKNOWN LOT. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,564.
MY LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS QUIT WORKING.
THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT PRESSURE(?) SWITCH IN SEAT FOR AIR BAG, CONSTANTLY GOES OFF INDICATING THERE IS SOMEONE SITTING THERE, WHEN IN FACT THERE IS NO ONE OR A PIECE OF PAPER ON THE SEAT. IT STARTED OUT AS A RARE OCCURRENCE BUT IS NOW PRETTY MUCH SWITCHING ON ALL THE TIME, EITHER AT CAR START UP OR IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING. IF IT DIDN'T DINGLE, WARNING THE PASSENGER ISN'T BUCKLED IT WOULDN'T BE A HUGE DEAL, BUT STILL WOULDN'T NEED IT TO DEPLOY IN AN ACCIDENT WHEN THERE ISN'T A PASSENGER.
THE RADIO WORKS WHEN IT WANTS TO SHOWS A BLANK SCREEN AND DOES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. MY DOOR CHIMES, IGNITION CHIME, SEAT BELT CHIMES, TURN SIGNAL CHIMES NONE OF THAT WORKS EITHER. NOT SURE IF IT'S AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE. HOWEVER I HAD MY BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR TESTED. HAVE BEEN HAVING THIS ISSUE FOR MAYBE 2 MONTHS NOW.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO PREMIER NISSAN OF METAIRIE (504-455-5800, LOCATED AT 6636 VETERANS MEMORIAL BLVD, METAIRIE, LA 70003) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND RECOMMENDED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE SEVEN DIFFERENT FAILURE CODES WERE LOCATED, INCLUDING THE CAM SHAFT POSITION SENSOR AND THE POWER TRAIN CONTROL RELAY. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE PARTS, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 76,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.
1ST - 8/11/2018 - 79,653 MILES - CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, CODE P0411 SECONDARY AIR INJECTION SYSTEM INCORRECT FLOW DETECTED. DEALERSHIP STATED THE SOLENOID MALFUNCTION CHECK ENGINE CAME BACK ON, CODE P0411, CHEVROLET STATED THE SECONDARY AIR INJECTION SYSTEM IS FUNCTIONING AS DESIGNED AND RESET THE CODE. CHEVY'S STATED THE FAULTY SIR INJECTION SOLENOIDS BANK 1 AND 2 WAS THE CAUSE OF THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CODE P0411. ADVISED ME THAT THE BATTERY TERMINAL MAY BE THE ISSUE AND RECOMMENDED CHANGING IT. RECOMMEND A NEW ALTERNATOR. CHEVY WAS UNABLE TO VERIFY THE CODE P0411 BUT MADE A RECOMMENDATION FOR THE ISSUE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AGAIN, NO OTHER ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE AT THAT TIME. GM OPENED A TAC CASE. ADVISED BY TAC THAT CARBON BUILDUP IN THE CYLINDER VALVES FROM THE CYLINDER HEADS WAS THE CAUSE. TOLD TO DRIVE VEHICLE FOR A FEW DAYS. WITHIN 3 DAYS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON. CHEVY INSTALLED A VEHICLE DATA RECORDER PER THE GM FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER. TEST RESULTS SHOWED BOTH AIR INJECTION CUT OF VALVES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. FUTURE ALSO UPDATED ECM CALIBRATION AND PROGRAMMED IT - COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. 6TH VISIT ON 9/3/2019 AT 85970 MILES CHEVROLET ADVISED THE CAUSE IS DUE TO THE LEFT TEMPERATURE CONTROL AND AIR INLET ACTUATORS. 7TH - 9TH TIME, ADVISED BY INDEPENDENT AUTO REPAIR SHOP, THAT EVERYTHING WAS WORKING AS NORMAL. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CODE WAS RESET. ADVISED CAR NEEDS TO BE CALIBRATED AT GM-APPROVED DEALERSHIP. AS OF TODAY, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINS ON. THE FINAL SHOP ADVISED THE ISSUE MAY BE THAT THE SYSTEM WAS NOT CALIBRATED OR JUST NEEDED TO BE CALIBRATED EVERY TIME THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I BELIEVE THAT THOUSANDS OF GM CUSTOMERS ARE PAYING OUT OF POCKET FOR UNNECESSARY P0411 REPAIR WORK.*DT*JB
TAKATA RECALL MY STABILITY TRACK SENSOR IS CONSTENTLY COMING ON OVERPOWERING MY DRIVING AND MESSING MY DRIVING UP. IT HAPPENS WITH NO CONDITIONS WHEN I TURN THE WHEEL TO THE LEFT AND HAS BEEN HAPPENING EVER SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR. I ALSO HAD THE ENGINE SHUT OFF ON THE FREEWAY. I HAVE REPLACED MANY THINGS THAT I WAS TOLD CAN BE CAUSING THIS. THERE IS STILL AN ISSUE.
WHEN DRIVING SUDDEN JERKS OF EXTRA POWER THEN SOMETIMES LOWER POWER/ ALOT OF CLICKING WHEN IM NOT IN THE CAR AND EVERYTIME I OPEN THE DOOR OR TURN OFF THE CAR. LIGHTA FLICKER WHEN ROLLING THE WINDOWS UP OR DOWN AND JUST WHEN THEY WANT RO
GRINDING SOUND WHEN I TURN LEFT. SERVICE STABILITY TRACK POPS UP THE ONLY WAY TO FIX THIS IS TO TURN TRACTION CONTROL OFF.
I WAS DRIVING ON A RESIDENTIAL ROAD AND I TOOK A TURN ONTO A DIFFERENT RESIDENTIAL ROAD AND RIGHT AFTER I STARTED TO ACCELERATE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. RIGHT AFTER, THE SERVICE STABILITRAK AND SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON. THE CAR STARTED SPUTTERING AND WHEN I STARTED TO STOP THE BRAKES LOCKED ON AND OFF AS I CAME TO A STOP. IT CONTINUED TO SPUTTER EVERY TIME I ACCELERATED AND THE BRAKES CONTINUED TO LOCK EVERY TIME I HAD TO ENGAGE THEM. I COULD BARELY GET THE CAR TO DRIVE FASTER THAN 25 MPH. ONCE I GOT HOME I POPPED THE HOOD AND THE ENGINE SEEMED TO BE SHAKING.
WHILE DRIVING ON LOCAL ROADS AND ACCELERATING LOOSE THE TRACTION CONTROL (STABILIZER TRACTION CONTROL DISPLAY) AND CAN NOT ACCELERATE MOMENTARILY. MOST OF THE IMES ITS HAPPENING WHEN TURNING LEFT (SLOW SPEED) OR ACCELERATING FROM STOPPED POSITION (RED LIGHT)

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25-30 MPH, THE SERVICE BRAKE ASSIST, ABS, AND SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED AS THE VEHICLE CAME TO AN ABRUPT STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO GARBER CHEVROLET (1700 N. SAGINAW RD, MIDLAND, MI 48640) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE RECHARGED AND A LOOSE GROUND CABLE NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 144,000. **TR CONSUMER STATED SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL-SERVICE STABILIZER-SERVICE BRAKE ASSIST CAME ON AND CAR STOPPED DEAD COMPLETELY- CAR KEY IN ON POSITION AND CAR IN DRIVE. HAD NO POWER AT ALL- HAD TO MANUALLY UNLOCK MY DOOR TO GET OUT. THEY HAD TO TOW THE CAR TO GARAGE WITH MY KEYS STUCK IN IT. FLASHERS AND NOTHING WORKED. LUCKILY NO ONE SMASHED INTO ME AND IF OUT ON A MAIN HIGHWAY GOING AT A HIGHER SPEED I WOULDN'T BE HERE TO TELL YOU ABOUT THIS. THE CAR IS FIXED BUT MY FEARS OF IT HAPPENING AGAIN ARE IMMENSE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL POPPING SOUND AND THE STABILIZER TRACTION INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,200.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT & TRACTION LIGHT CAME ON AT THE SAME TIME AS THESE 3 MESSAGES, ENGINE MAY LOOSE POWER, SEVERICE TRACTION CONTROL, STABILITRACK. THE ENGINE STARTED SLOWING DOWN & HAD A HIGH PITCHED WHINNY NOISE. AFTER ABOUT 10 MILES THE MESSAGE CHANGED TO ENGINE IIS LOOSING POWER, WOULDN'T GO OVER 35 MPH AND THE WHINNING BECAME LOUDER AND FASTER. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO A GM DEALERSHIP, WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED IT AS THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP. I WAS TOLD THE PARTS ARE ON BACK ORDER UNTIL MAY 15, 2018.

2012 IMPALA THE PASSENGER SIDE LOWBEAM HEADLIGHT KEEPS GOING OUT, AFTER REPLACING THE BULB IT GOES OUT AGAIN INSTANTLY. SOME KIND OF ELECTRICAL ISSUE I'M GUESSING. CAN BE DANGEROUS AND GETTING PULLED OVER FOR IT BY THE POLICE IS NOT FUN.
CAR MAKES GRINDING NOISE AND STOPS AFTER MOVING WHEN TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT WHEN AT A FULL STOP

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE GASKETS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. A LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
HUB ASSEMBLY
70,000 MILES, STABILTRAK WARNING ON STARTUP AND ENGINE POWER LOSS. ERROR MESSAGE WAS ABOUT A SENSOR, REPLACED THE HUB AND THE WIRING HARNESS TO FIX. SO FAR NO MORE PROBLEMS BUT I'VE SEEN THIS ISSUE COUNTLESS TIMES AND I'M SURPRISED THERE WASN'T A RECALL YET.
WHEN USING E85 FUEL IN MY FLEX FUEL VEHICLE THE CHECK STABILITY CONTROL/REDUCED ENGINE POWER WARNING IS ACTIVATED. THIS OCCURS WHEN THE CAR IS MOVING. I HAVE CONTACTED MY DEALER AND GM THEY WERE UNABLE TO HELP ME. THERE IS A GM TECHNICAL BULLETIN (PIP5385C) ON THIS PROBLEM.
TAKATA RECALL PROBLEMS WITH BLOWER MOTOR IN AC..WAS REPLACED TWICE. ONE SIDE OF VENT IS HOT WHILE OTHER IS COLD. ALSO LOUD TAPPING NOISE AFTER CAR IS SHUT OFF..CONTINUOUSLY EVEN WHEN ENGINE IS TURNED OFF. BELIEVE A BAD RELAY NOW THAT I NEED TO REPLACE. MY SISTER CAR ALSO DOES SAME THING SHE HAS A 2006 IMPALA.
I TOOK IN MY WIFE'S 2012 IMPALA INTO THE AUTO MECHANIC ABOUT A MONTH AGO BECAUSE HER DEFROSTER WAS NOT WORKING. THE MECHANIC SAID THAT THAT SOMETHING BURNED (I THINK IT WAS A BOX WITH SOME WIRES). HE REPLACED IT WITH A NEW PART AND IT WAS WORKING. LAST WEEK I NOTICED THAT HER REAR DEFROSTER IS NOT WORKING AGAIN. I PLAN ON TAKING IT IN AGAIN BUT IF THEY FIX THE SAME THING I WOULD ASSUME IT WOULD BE AN ONGOING CYCLE OF THIS PROBLEM. I DID DO SOME INTERNET RESEARCH AND NOTICED THAT OTHERS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I CONTACTED CHEVROLET COOPERATION AND THEY SAID THAT THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD SLOW DOWN. THE FAILURE OCCURRED EVERYDAY FOR THE LAST TWO WEEKS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000.
MY CHEVROLET IMPALA WAS IN MOTION WHEN MY ABS AND TRAC SENSOR KEEPS COMING ON. NOW IT'S HAPPENING EVERYTIME I DRIVE. IT ALMOST LOCKS ON ME WHEN I'M DRIVING AND IT SCARES ME FOR MY SAFETY OF MY KIDS AND MYSELF IN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE NEVER STALLED; HOWEVER, THERE WAS NO RESPONSE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED AND A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE ISSUE COULD BE DUE TO THE THROTTLE BODY. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED BY THE MANUFACTURER THAT THERE WAS A SPECIAL COVERAGE TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET I NOTICED THE POWER STEERING WAS MUCH HARDER TO TURN.
I HAVE A2012 IMPALA WHICH HAD ALMOST 60000 MILES ON IT WHEN PURCHASED IT. VEHICLE NOW HAS AROUND 85000 MILES ON IT, HAVE NOT BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENTS EVER. RECENTLY MY AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON DISPLAYING THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG IS OFF. I TOOK IT INTO A SHOP WHERE THEY PROVIDED ME WITH A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK AND WAS TOLD THAT IS MOST LIKELY THE SENSOR ON PASSENGER SEAT. AFTER BEING TOLD THIS, I TOOK IN TO DEALER SHIP FOR IMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE REMINDING YOU THAT IT IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE IF THIS VEHICLE IS IN USE WITHOUT AIR BAGS PROPERLY WORKING. I KNOW THAT THERE IS PRIOR RECALLS FOR SAME VEHICLE, SAME PROBLEM ONLY THE RECALLS WERE FOR YEARS 2008-2010. THE DEALER WOULD NOT EVEN LOOK AT VEHICLE WITHOUT CHARGING ME ALMOST A 200$ FEE TO RUN A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK ON A MAJOR KNOWN SECURITY ISSUE. I FURTHER CALLED GM THE SAME DAY AND SPOKE TO TWO REPRESENTATIVESEPARATE. THE FIRST REP WAS A MAN, I EXPLAINED THAT THE AIR BAG FRONT PASSENGER NOTIFICATION CAME ON. HE ASKED IF I WAS IN ACCIDENT,WHICH NO, NEVER ANY ACCIDENT. HE PUT ME ON HOLD THEN CAME BACK AND ADVISED ME OF A RECALL AND HE WAS NEEDING TO SEE WHAT HE'S GOING TO DO FOR ME, PUT ME BACK ON HOLD JUST TO GET ANOTHER REP , I ASKED FOR SUPERVISOR.THE LADY CAME ON AND CLEARLY TOLD ME THE OPPOSITE OF THE MAN I WAS JUST TALKING TO. THAT NO NO RECALL, THAT I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL FEES.ARE YOU KIDDING ME??THEY SAID THAT UPON PREVIOUS SITUATIONS,THAT AN AIR BAG SENSOR WOULD NEED REPLACING COSTING ABOUT $1000..CLEARLY THERE'S A FAULTY, SOFTWARE DEFECT WHICH WAS PREVIOUSLY RECALLED FOR MY VEHICLE. GM NEEDS TO CARE THAT NO LIFE SHOULD BE AT RISK IF IN AN UNSAFE CHEVY IMPALA. I REFUSE TO THINK GM PROVIDES UNSAFE VEHICLES TO ANYONE. THERE'S WAY TOO MANY COMPLAINTS OF AIR BAG ISSUES WITH THESE TYPES OF VEHICLES, GOD FORBID ANY ACCIDENTS HAPPEN AND GM COULD HAVE PREVENTED THE PROBLEM AND EVEN SAVE A LIFE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR OTHER REPAIRS AT THAT TIME AND THE CONTACT HAD THE MECHANIC INSPECT THE VEHICLE FOR THE TICKING NOISE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO AIR BAGS IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A LETTER FROM TK HOLDINGS, ALERTING HER THAT TAKATA FILED FOR BANKRUPTCY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE UNKNOWN.
I PURCHASED THIS CAR USED IN 2014 WITH ~30,000 MILES, AND IT PRESENTLY HAS ~85,000 MILES. IN THAT TIME I HAVE REPLACED 4 GAS PEDALS BECAUSE THE ALERT TRIGGERED "SERVICE STABILITRAK" TELLS THE TECHNICIAN TO REPLACE THE GAS PEDAL - CLEARLY NOT THE PROBLEM. ESSENTIALLY, WHEN THE DEFECT OCCURS, ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED TO WHERE THE CAR CAN BARELY GET OUT OF ITS OWN WAY WHICH IS REALLY DANGEROUS DURING HIGHWAY RUSH HOUR (WHEN FOLKS DRIVE MORE AGGRESSIVELY) OR PULLING ONTO A ROADWAY FROM A DEAD STOP. IF I POWER THE CAR DOWN AND RESTART IT, THE ERROR WILL USUALLY CLEAR, BUT OFTEN REOCCURS. SINCE IT TENDS TO HAPPEN ON HOT, SUNNY DAYS (TEMP >75F) WHEN THE A/C IS RUNNING, IT FEELS LIKE A WIRING PROBLEM. THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT SUGGESTED REPLACING THE BODY CONTROL MODULE, BUT COULD NOT GUARANTEE THAT WOULD RESOLVE THE ISSUE. BASED UPON THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS OVER A SIMILAR ISSUE, IT APPEARS THAT GM HAS A PROBLEM THAT IT IS NOT WILLING TO ADDRESS WITH A RECALL OR SERVICE BULLETIN.
TAKATA RECALL WHEN ACCELERATING FORWARD FROM A COMPLETE STOP THE TRACTION CONTROL COMES ON BY ITSELF CAUSING THE WHEELS TO LOCK UP & CAUSES HESITATION. THE GROUND IS NOT WET AT ALL WHEN THIS HAPPENS & HAS ALMOST CAUSED ME TO GET REAR ENDED. EVEN WHEN TURNING THE TRACTION CONTROL KICKS ON CAUSING THE SAME REACTION ON DRY PAVEMENT. WHEN ACCELERATING THE CAR HESITATES & JERKS/JOLTS THEN THE TRACTION LIGHT KICKS ON. THERE ARE NO CODES ON THE DASHBOARD & NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY AREN'T ABLE TO FIGURE OUT THE ISSUE. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE ESPECIALLY DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND DRIVING WITH CHILDREN IN THE CAR. IT RISKING MY LIFE, MY CHILDREN'S LIVES & THE LIFES OF OTHERS.AND HAVE SPENT A LOT OF MONEY HAVING THE VEHICLE CHECKED OUT WITH NO SOLUTIONS. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS.

USED CAR PURCHASED WITH APPROX. 72,000 MILES. MAJOR PROBLEMS BECAME APPARENT AT 73,000 MILES APPROX. GRINDING CLUNKING SQUEALING NOISES WERE 1ST WARNING SIGNS. ALL OF THESE NOISES OCCUR ANYTIME THE VEHICLE IS BEING DRIVEN, INTERMITTENTLY, BUT EVERYTIME I TURN LEFT OR RIGHT. THE AC/HEATER WENT OUT BECAUSE THE BLOWER MOTOR FAILED. HANDLING WAS HORRIBLE SO REPLACED MOST OF SUSPENSION PARTS BUT ALIGNMENT REPEATEDLY GOES OUT AND MECHANICS ARE IDIOTS SO THEY JUST SAY THEY ARE STUMPED AND SEND ME AWAY. THAT PROMPTED ME TO RESEARCH ON MY OWN. I LOOKED UP THE SYMPTOMS AND HAVE CONCLUDED THAT THE HUB BEARINGS NEED TO BE REPLACED. WHICH I CANNOT AFFORD SEEING AS HOW I JUST SPENT A FEW GRAND ON OTHER REPAIRS.THEN I FOUND OUT THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS FAILING WHICH MAKES IT JERK WHEN ACCELERATING, DRIVE VERY SLUGGISH, AND MAKES LOUD NOISES AT IDLE AND IN MOTION. THERE IS MORE PROBLEMS THAT WOULD TAKE TOO LONG TO LIST. I CONTINUE TO RESEARCH ALL OF THIS VEHICLES COMPLAINTS AND PROBLEMS AND IT SEEMS LIKE IT IS TIME FOR A REAL RECALL! GM SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR MAKING SUCH A NIGHTMARE OF A CAR. I JUST PURCHASED THE CAR FROM A DEALERSHIP FOR $10,000 ONE YEAR AGO AND STILL OWE $8,600. JUST HAD THE CAR APPRAISED AT $3,000, SO I AM UPSIDE DOWN $5,500. I CANNOT TRADE IT IN, CANNOT AFFORD PERPECTUALLY REPAIRING AND WOULD NOT BECAUSE IT SEEMS LIKE THERE IS NO END. MY VEHICLE SUFFERS FROM LOSS OF POWER WHEN MAKING A SQUARE TURN AKA A VERY SHARP TURN. IT ONLY HAPPENS WITH LEFT TURNS. THE PROBLEM IS WEAR OF A CABLE NEAR THE FRONT LEFT TIRE WHICH CONTROLS THE ANTILOCK BRAKES AND/OR THE TRACTION CONTROL / STABILITRAK FEATURE. THE WEARING IS SUCH THAT WHEN TURNING SHARPLY TO THE LEFT, THE WORN CABLE SUFFERS INTERMITTENT CONNECTIVITY LOSS. THAT LOSS OF CONNECTIVITY TRIGGERS TRACTION CONTROL TO BRIEFLY SEVER POWER TO THE FRONT TIRES. I HAVE FOUND THAT MANUALLY TURNING OFF TRACTION CONTROL PREVENTS THIS PROBLEM FROM HAPPENING. I COULD REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM RELIABLY. IT NEARLY ALWAYS HAPPENS WHEN MOVING FROM A PARKED POSITION INTO THE ROADWAY, AND WHEN LEAVING A PARKING LOT AFTER REVERSING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE. THE PROBLEM IS PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS WHEN I AM MAKING LEFT TURNS ACROSS ONCOMING TRAFFIC - I HAVE LOST POWER ONCE IN THE MIDDLE OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC BUT THANKFULLY THE OTHERS DRIVERS WERE AWARE ENOUGH TO STOP BEFORE COLLISION. BECAUSE OF THIS I ALWAYS TURNED OFF THE TRACTION CONTROL FOR ALL DRIVING TRIPS. I FOUND ONLINE SIMILAR REPORTS OF OTHER 2012 CHEVROLET IMPALA OWNERS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER (DAN VADEN CHEVROLET SAVANNAH, 9393 ABERCORN ST, SAVANNAH, GA, 31406) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING RACK, BRAKES/ ROTORS, AND TIE ROD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ALSO, AN ALIGNMENT WAS NEEDED. THE STEERING RACK, BRAKES/ROTORS, TIE ROD, AND ALIGNMENT WERE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE NOW SHAKES INDEPENDENTLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED FOR THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 8-3209374202. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 86,800.
HELLO, I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING THE FOLLOWING LIGHTS COMING ON SINCE I HAVE RECEIVED MY IMPALA WITH 60,000 MILES ON IT. IT TELLS ME TO SERVICE STABLE LINK, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, THE ABS SLIT STAYS ON AND I HAVE REPLACED BOTH HUBS ON THE FRONT. WHAT ELSE IS THERE TO DO UNLESS I REWIRE EVERYTHING. THIS ALL HAPPENS WHEN I FIRST MOVE THE VEHICLE AND DURING MY TRIP.
I WAS GOING SLOW (20 MPH OR LESS), EXPECTING TO STOP WITH MY FOOT ON THE BREAK. A CAR SLAMMED IN BACK OF ME. ON IMPACT, I PUSHED THE BREAK ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FLOOR, WITHOUT ANY RESISTANCE. JUST PRIOR TO THAT, THE BREAKS WERE SLOWING-DOWN THE CAR AS EXPECTED. MY CAR SLAMMED INTO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. THERE WERE NO BREAK MARKS ON THE HIGHWAY AS ONE WOULD EXPECT IF THE BREAKS WERE WORKING. THE BREAKS SIMPLY FAILED. AFTER RELEASING THE BREAKS, SHOUTING OFF THE ENGINE AND LATER STARTING IT UP, THE BREAKS ARE CURRENTLY WORKING AS BEFORE THE ACCIDENT.

WHEN THIS HAPPENS I SOMETIMES NOTICE A DECREASE IN ENGINE POWER AND/OR GRINDING NOISES FROM THE FRONT END WHEN I MAKE TURNS. THIS HAS OCCURRED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND/OR RESIDENTIAL SPEEDS AND DOES NOT COINCIDE WITH ANY ROUGH OR UNUSUAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. IT IS HARD TO UNDERSTAND WHAT CAUSES IT UNLESS IT IS SOME KIND OF ELECTRICAL SHORT CIRCUITING. I CAN TURN THE STABILITRAK OFF AND THE MESSAGES AND DIMINISHED MECHANICAL PERFORMANCE WILL STOP, BUT MAY RE-APPEAR WEEKS LATER. ACCORDING TO THE REPORTS I HAVE READ ON-LINE, THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AMONG IMPALA OWNERS WITH CARS OF SIMILAR YEARS AND MILEAGE. MY CAR HAS ONLY 40,000 MILES. IN AN EFFORT TO FIX THE ISSUE, OTHER OWNERS HAVE REPORTEDLY REPLACED SENSORS, WIRES, WIRE HARNESSES, HUB ASSEMBLIES, THROTTLE BODIES, AND BRAKE COMPONENTS. GENERAL MOTORS NEEDS TO RECALL OUR CARS IN ORDER TO DEAL WITH THIS PROBLEM. NONE OF THESE MECHANICAL COMPONENTS SHOULD BE FAILING SO SOON. LOSS OF ENGINE POWER AND BRAKING ABILITY WHILE DRIVING IS A POTENTIALLY DEADLY PROBLEM, AND ANY MECHANICAL ISSUE THIS WIDESPREAD AMONG CAR OWNERS SHOULD BE SUBJECT TO AN OFFICIAL RECALL AND SHOULD BE REMEDIED BY THE AUTOMAKER AT NO CHARGE TO THE PUBLIC.

ABS/TRACTION CONTROL FAILURE. BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT WIRE HARNESSES HAD TO BE REPLACED TI TO WIRE RUBBING IN FRAME AND GOING TO GROUND. GM HAS FOUR TSB'S ON THIS KNOWN PROBLEM. ABS/TRACTION CONTROL OR FEDERALLY REQUIRED SAFETY FEATURES. THIS NEED TO BE A FULL RECALL.
SEAT BELT TENSIONER WAS FOUND TO BE INOPERABLE DURING A DEALERSHIP REPAIR VISIT. DEALER WILL REPLACE IT AT SUBSTANTIAL CHARGE.
