PARKING BRAKE WILL AUTOMATICLY PARTIALLY ENGAGE WITH NO INDICATION CAUSING PADS AND WHEEL CYLINDER TO HEAT UP CAUSING DAMAGE TO WHEEL CYLINDER, ROTOR DIS, BRAKE PADS
POWER STEERING VERY HARD TO TURN, SEEMS TO STICK WHEN TURNED ALL THE WAY LEFT OR RIGHT, MECHANIC SAID RACK (?) AND POWER STEERING PUMP NEED TO BE REPLACED. MAKES NOISES AND LEAKS POWER STEERING FLUID
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE PARKING THE VEHICLE, THE REARVIEW MIRROR SUDDENLY DETACHED FROM THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER (BURGLUND CHEVROLET, 1824 WILLIAMSON RD. NW, ROANOKE, VA) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENTIRE WINDSHIELD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY GOING 65 MILES AN HOUR AND SUDDENLY MY CAR WITHOUT WARNING WENT WAY DOWN TO 15 AND CAR WAS SAYING LOSS OF ENGINE POWER I WAS VERY AFRAID I ALSO HAD MY 3 YEAR OLD IN THE CAR WE WERE EARLY REAR ENDED BY I SEMI I PULLED TO THE EMERGENCY LANE AND SHUT THE CAR OFF WAITED 10 MINUTES STARTED IT UP AND ALL LIGHTS WERE OFF THE CAR DROVE FINE FOR 10 O 15 MINUTES AND THEN IT STARTED AGAIN THIS TIME THE POWER NEVER CAME BACK
I EXPERIENCED LOSS OF POWER STEERING WHILE TURNING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALERSHIP TO GET A DIAGNOSIS. THE RESULTS WERE THAT THE THERE WAS A LOSS OF COMMUNICATION TO BCM.
JUNE 2016 AT 20K MILES THE CAR WAS ERRATICALLY SHIFTING AT 30-35 MPH AND HAD A BAD SMELL FROM THE VENTS. I BROUGHT IT TO BONNER CHEVROLET WHO STATED THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE AND IT MAY BE DUE TO RUNNING TOO HIGH OF AN OCTANE OF FUEL. THE ISSUE WAS NOT RESOLVED. OCTOBER 2016 I BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE SAME ISSUE BUT I ALSO NOTICED A SLIGHT TICKING NOISE. A MOTOR MOUNT WAS CHANGED BUT NOTHING WAS DONE ABOUT THE SHIFTING ISSUE OR BAD SMELL. THEY STATED BECAUSE THE CAR WAS NOT GIVING ANY CODES, THERE WAS NOTHING ELSE THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT. AUGUST 13 2017 AT 25 OR 30 MPH WHILE ACCELERATING THE CAR VIOLENTLY JERKED MY SON AND I FORWARD. IT ALSO DID THIS WHILE DOWNSHIFTING. IT CONTINUED TO DO THIS FOR 5 MINUTES UNTIL IT BEGAN TO NO LONGER SHIFT GEARS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. IT GOT TO 4500RPM WHEN I PULLED OVER AND SHUT THE CAR OFF. I TURNED IT BACK ON AFTER A FEW MINUTES BUT THE ISSUE CONTINUED. AFTER ANOTHER 5 MINUTES I GOT HOME. MONDAY 8/14 AFTER ARGUING WITH CHEVY ABOUT TOWING MY CAR SINCE THEY DIDNT WANT TO PICK IT UP UNTIL 8/17, THEY AGREED TO PICK IT UP THAT DAY 8/14. THEY ALSO STATED I WOULD GET A RENTAL AS LONG AS IT WAS DETERMINED THE ISSUE WAS A FAILURE ON BEHALF OF CHEVY AND NOT MYSELF. TUESDAY 8/15 CAME WITH NO UPDATE FROM THE DEALSERSHIP. WEDNESDAY MORNING 8/16 I CALLED FOR AN UPDATE AND WAS INFORMED THE CAR HAD "INTERNAL ENGINE FAILURE". THE SERVICE REP PAUL AT VALLEY CHEVROLET REFUSED TO GIVE ME THE CODE THE CAR WAS GIVING FOR THE INTERNAL ENGINE FAILURE. HE REFUSED TO GIVE ME A RENTAL BECAUSE THE CAR HAS OVER 36K MILES. I INFORMED HIM THIS IS CONFLICTING FROM WHAT I WAS TOLD ON 8/14 BY CUSTOMER SERVICE. HE SAID THAT IF I DID NOT WANT THE CAR FIXED, THAT HE COULD LEAVE MY CAR OUTSIDE. NO CALL BACK YET FROM CUSTOMER SERVICE AS THE RENTAL AND TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER THE POWERTRAIN WARANTEE.
THE TRUNK FILLS UP WITH WATER EVERY TIME IT RAINS. UP TO A GALLON OF WATER COLLECTS IN THE SPARE TIRE AREA WITH ALL OF THE CARPETED AREA BECOMING WET.
DEALERSHIP COULD NOT FIND PROBLEM WITH TRANSMISSION STALLING OUT ON PULLING OUT. NOW WITH WARRANTY LAPSED TRANSMISSION SOLENOID IS BAD. $1300 TO REPAIR
THE KEY IS STUCK IN THE IGNITION. YOU CAN TURN IT FORWARD BUT IT WILL NOT COME OUT AND THE CAR WILL NOT START. YOU CAN'T PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL TO HAVE IT TOWED. THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL RECALLS RELATED TO THIS ISSUE FOR GM CARS.
THE REAR VIEW MIRROR FELL OFF THE WINDSHIELD WHILE DRIVING DOWN CITY STREET AT 25 MILES PER HOUR. AFTER FIRST SEEKING HELP AT THE LOCAL AUTO GLASS DEALER WHO TOLD US THEY COULD NOT FIX WE WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD US THE WINDSHIELD HAS TO BE REPLACED TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THIS IS BASED ON A BULLETIN TO THEM FROM THE CHEVY FACTORY. THE NEW WINDSHIELD WILL TAKE SEVERAL DAYS TO ARRIVE MEANWHILE THE CAR WILL HAVE TO BE DRIVEN FOR AT LEAST A WEEK WITHOUT A REAR VIEW MIRROR UNTIL EVERYTHING CAN BE REINSTALLED. BECAUSE THIS VEHICLES CAMERAS AND SENSORS ARE THERE AS WELL THEUBALL HAVE TO BE RECALIBRATED ONCE THEY ARE REINSTALLED AS WELL. THE WINDSHIELD ALONE COSTS $570, THERE WILL BE LABOR FOR ALL OF THE AFOREMENTIONED ON TOP OF THAT. THE MAIN CONCERN IS THE SAFETY OF DRIVING FOR A WEEK WITHOUT PROPER SAFETY EQUIPMENT DUE TO THE FACTORY DEFECT. THE CHEVY FACTORY BULLETIN THE DEALERSHIP GAVE US LISTS 18 DIFFERENT BUICK, CADILLAC, CHEVY, AND GMC MODELS RANGING FROM 2013-2016 WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM. THE BULLETIN NUMBER IS #PI1187C. WE BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THESE VEHICLES FOR THEM TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. IT'S VERY POOR DESIGN FOR A MIRROR TO FALL OFF A 3 YEAR OLD CAR AND REQUIRING IT TO NEED A WINDSHIELD REPLACED TO FIX, CAUSES A SAFETY ISSUE FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE TO COORDINATE THIS, NOT TO MENTION THE COSTS INVOLVED!
WHEN DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS OR CORNERING AT STEEP ANGLES THE TRACTION CONTROL ACTIVATES AND WILL ALMOST STOP THE VEHICLE. PREVIOUSLY HAD ISSUE REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY AND THEY REPLACED A WIRING HARNESS. ISSUE OCCURRED AGAIN. A DEALER SERVICE TECH INFORMED ME THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH WATER GETTING IN THE HARNESSES BUT THERE IS NO RECALL ONLY A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN. WHERE IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE THAT EFFECTS THE TRACTION CONTROL AND ABS I FEEL THIS BEING A KNOW ISSUE SHOULD BE ADDRESSED THOUGH A RECALL AS THE REPAIR IS EXPENSIVE AND A SAFETY CONCERN.
2014 CHEVROLET IMPALA TRUNK LEAKS. WATER FILLS INTO THE SPARE TIRE WHEEL WELL AND WETS ALL FABRIC IN THE TRUNK. SPARE TIRE STARTING TO RUST AND MILDEW SMELL IN TRUNK.
POSSIBLE ACTUATOR ISSUE. MYSELF, ALONG WITH 3 OTHER PEOPLE, WHO HAS DIFFERENT MODELS.OF THE CHEVY IMPALA, HAVE ALL EXPERIENCED A CONSTANT CLICKING BEHIND THE PASSENGER DASHBOARD. IT CLICKS NONSTOP EVEN WHILE THE CAR IS OFF. THE ONLY TIME IT STOPS IS WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONING IS ON. IT CLICKS WHILE THE CAR IS PARKED AND TURNED OFF.
AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT COMES ON. VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. NO REASON THE AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT SHOULD BE ON.
The linx radio stopped working. The onstar system stopped working awhile after the linx radio stopped working when the car started to operate off of battery reserve (or what I think is battery reserve --- the light on the dashboard changed to blue). I've had to change the batter twice in 2.5 years. I'm told the battery Duralast is a good battery and that its an electrical fuse problem and it would be difficult to find which wire is the problem. The vehicle has been inspected by three different dealers in three different states. I was also told to uninstall onstar for resolution of the electrical problem of the battery draining and needing to draw energy from another source taking up more energy than it's suppose to in the vehicle. Yes, in 2017-18, the problem was confirmed by the dealership where I purchased the car brand new in 2014, Criswell Chevrolet in Gaithersburg, MD.

THE CONTACT HAD TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL TWICE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AFTER THE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT NOTIFIED AN UNKNOWN LOCAL DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,970.
DRIVING UNDER NORMAL HIGHWAY CONDITIONS THE POWER STEERING SUDDENLY STOPPED FUNCTIONING AND THE "SERVICE POWER STEERING" "SERVICE STABILITITRACK" MESSAGE DISPLAYED ON THE DASH, ABS, AND STABILITRAK LIGHTS ALL COMING ON. CAR IS STARTING TO BECOME HARD TO TURN. I PULLED THE VEHICLE OFF AT THE NEXT EXIT AND I CALLED GM ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND AFTER WAITING ABOUT 15 MINUTES I STARTED THE CAR BACK THE POWER STEERING FAILED. THIS MAKING THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE.

THE TRACTION CONTROL AND ANTI-LOCK BRAKES INDICATORS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER (REEDER CHEVROLET, 4301 CLINTON HWY, KNOXVILLE, TN 37912, (865) 297-4310) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SPEED SENSOR AND SUB-ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SIDE BLIND ZONE ALERT MESSAGE DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. THE CONTACT RECEIVED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY #N172097060 (SIDE BLIND ZONE ALERT MODULE WATER INTRUSION) HOWEVER THE VEHICLE EXCEEDED THE 80,000 MILE TIME LIMIT. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE PASSENGER PRESENCE DETECTION SYSTEM WOULD FAIL AND THAT THE AIR BAG WOULD NOT DEPLOY IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BY A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY RAINWATER DRAINS INTO THE TRUNK AND INTO THE SPARE TIME COMPARTMENT. THERE'S A DEFECT WITH THE TAIL LIGHTS AND SEALS BETWEEN THE TRUNK AND REAR OF THE VEHICLE. I'M NOT THE ORIGINAL OWNER AND WASN'T AWARE ANYTHING HAD BEEN DOCUMENTED ON THE ISSUE. FURTHERMORE, I DIDN'T KNOW THERE WAS AN ISSUE UNTIL 2017 WHEN I NEEDED MY SPARE TIRE. POWER STEERING, ABS, AND STABILITRAK LIGHTS ALL COMING ON. ONLY 40,000 MILES ON THE CAR. CAR IS STARTING TO BECOME HARD TO TURN. STARTED WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND WENT THROUGH A LARGE PUDDLE OF WATER.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY MY SUNROOF SHATTERED INTO PIECES.
MY SERVICE SIDE DETECTION SYSTEM LIGHT CAME ON MONDAY. ON THURSDAY BRIGHT SUNNY DAY ONE BY ONE ALL SYSTEMS FAILED. NO AIR BAGS,NO BLINKERS,NO ALARMS SOUNDING, NOTHING ON DASH WORKING, EVERYTHING IS GONE EXCEPT ENG IS STILL RUNNING.I WAS DRIVING IN MILWAUKEE HWY AND CITY STREETS. I WAS 2 HOURS FROM HOME SO I DROVE TO THE CLOSEST DEALERSHIP. WHEN THEY TRIED TO ACCESS THE COMPUTER THEY WERE LOCKED OUT. A FEW HOURS LATER THEY WERE FINALLY ABLE TO ACCESS THE COMPUTER AND IT TOLD THEM BOTH SIDE DETECTOR MODULES NEEDED REPLACING. THEY WERE ABLE TO GET SERVICE LIGHTS ON. WE DROVE HOME AND OUR LOCAL DEALER IS GOING TO REPLACE THE SIDE DETECTION MODULES. $600 FOR PARTS ALONE. RECEIPT IS ONLY THE OUT OF TOWN DEALER AS PARTS ARE NOT IN. RECEIPT FOR REPAIR IS NOT ATTACHED AS IT IS TO BE REPAIRED TOMMORROW. (DATE ON SCANNING IS ONE DAY OFF).... MY VIN IS NOT IN THE SIDE DETECTOR RECALLS
BLIND SIDE MOTION DETECTOR MONITORING SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONED. THIS WAS AFTER HEADLIGHT MALFUNCTION SO WE THOUGHT IT WAS RELATED TO HEADLIGHT REPAIR. DEALER SAID NO. CAR WAS IN MOTION WHEN WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. CLASSIC CHEVROLET/GM REFUSED TO COVER UNDER MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY EVEN THOUGH IT'S UNDER 36,000 MILES. THEY SAID IT WAS BECAUSE WE WERE 2 MONTHS AFTER WARRANTY. CONTACTED CHEVROLET/GM HOPING FOR PARTIAL COVERAGE TO NO AVAIL. SYSTEM SHOULD NOT HAVE FAILED THAT SOON. NEIGHBOR SAID HIS SYSTEM FAILED ALSO. IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY SO THAT MEANS HIS DIDN'T EVEN MAKE IT PAST 36 MONTHS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE HEADLIGHTS TURNED OFF AND ON. THE CONTACT MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH MIKE SMITH BUICK GMC (6014 S TRANSIT RD, LOCKPORT, NY 14094, (716) 625-8235) FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE FIRST OCCURRED LAST YEAR. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE, AND THE WIRES WERE BURNT AND CORRODED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ELECTRICAL WIRING HARNESS WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BY A LETTER THAT WAS MAILED BY THE CONTACT, BUT NO RESPONSE WAS RECEIVED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 39,000.
IT'S SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING.
MY POWER STEERING QUIT WORKING THE STABILITY LIGHT CAME ON AND IT FEELS LIKE MY PARKING BRAKE IS STICKING THERE'S RECALLS FOR ALL THESE ISSUES BUT WHEN I TYPE IN MY VIN IT SAYS THERE'S NO RECALLS FOR MY CAR
WHILE DRIVING, STEERING BECOMES STIFF AND POWER STEERING FAILED. UNABLE TO TURN STEERING IN DESIRED DIRECTIONS. MECHANIC DETERMINED BAD STEERING RACK DUE TO SOME COMPONENT WITHIN THE RACK WHICH CANNOT BE REPLACED EXCEPT THE ENTIRE RACK IS REPLACED. ON ONE OCCASION WHEN THE STEERING FAILED, THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING ON THE HIGHWAY, AND ON THE SECOND AND FINAL OCCASION, THE DRIVER PARKED THE VEHICLE AND WHEN SHE RETURNED THE STEERING FAILED.
WHEN MAKING RIGHT OR LEFT TURNS AT TIMES YOU WILL GET A GRINDING IN THE FRONT ALSO SOME HESITATION STABILITY LIGHT ABS LIGHT ALSO THE BRAKE ASSISTANT WARNING WILL FLASH THIS IS A SAFETY FACTOR THAT HAS BEEN BOUGHT TO CHEVY'S ATTENTION WITH NO RESULTS. SAFETY IS PRIORITY AT LEAST IT SUPPOSE TO ME, AT THE MOMENT IT IS NOT CHEVORLET.
RANDOM ENGINE AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHUTDOWN AT LOW (IDLE) SPEED OR WHEN STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. VEHICLE GOES COMPLETELY DEAD AND POWER STEERING LOCKS UP. ALL INSTRUMENT PANEL DISPLAY IS DEAD. GENERALLY VEHICLE RESTARTS AUTOMATICALLY IN 5-10 SECONDS. A FEW TIME I HAD TO RESTART IT. THIS WAS VERY RANDOM BUT ON SAT 2-18-2017 IT HAPPENED 6 TIMES WITHIN 10 MINUTES WHILE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AND STOPPED AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS.
I LEASED THE CAR BRAND NEW IN OCTOBER 2014 AND MY PASSENGER HEADLIGHT BURNED OUT. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT REPLACED AND FOUND OUT THAT IT WILL COST $350 TO REPLACE THE BULB (THE WARRANTY WAS FOR 3 YEARS OR 36K MILES, I HAVE 41K MILES ON IT). HOWEVER, THE LIGHT BULBS SHOULD LAST LONGER THAN 2 YEARS ON A BRAND NEW CAR. I CALLED GM AND THEY SAID THEY COULD DO NOTHING.
WHILE TRAVELING 70MPH, ALL ELECTRICAL CONTROLS INSIDE THE VEHICLE TURNED OFF, INCLUDING THE HEADLIGHTS. THEY IMMEDIATELY CAME BACK ON, BUT DID NOT REGISTER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS IN GEAR (THE SPEEDOMETER WAS REGISTERING 0 BUT THE CAR WAS STILL TRAVELING). THE NEXT MORNING THE CAR WOULD NOT TURN ON IMMEDIATELY (IT TOOK SEVERAL TRIES) AND THEN WHEN WE REACHED THE MECHANIC, IT WOULD NOT TURN OFF. WE HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS FOR SOME TIME. THE MIRROR SENSOR (WITH BLIND SPOT INDICATOR) WENT OUT SOON AFTER PURCHASE. THE FRONT CAMERA WILL SPORADICALLY STOP WORKING WITH AN ERROR LIGHT. TRACTION CONTROL WILL TURN OFF, WITH AN ERROR MESSAGE. THIS CAR HAS SOME SERIOUS ELECTRICAL ISSUES. *TR
HID HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY POOR, RETURNED TO DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES, WAS TOLD THEY ARE WORKING AS INTENDED. WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT CHANGING FROM LOW TO HIGH BEAM CAN'T TELL ANY DIFFERENCE! *TR
THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH DOWN THE HIGHWAY. I CALLED A CHEVY DEALERSHIP AFTER DOING RESEARCH AND I FOUND OUT THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY CAR FOR THE POWER STEERING. THE CHEVY DEALER TOLD ME THAT THE RECALL HAD ALREADY BEEN FIXED. I FEEL THERE IS A FAULTY PART PLACED ON MY CAR DURING THE "FIXING OF THE RECALL" MAKING THE POWER STEERING GO OUT AGAIN. THE POWER STEERING SHOULD HAVE LASTED LONGER THAN TWO YEARS. *TR
MY 2014 CHEVY IMPALA HAS A POWER STEERING ASSIST PROBLEM. ON ONE OCCASION WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER STEERING ASSIST AND IT WAS HARD TO CONTROL. WHEN I FINALLY MANAGED TO DRIVE IN A GAS STATION, PARKED FOR A WHILE, THE PROBLEM WENT AWAY. AFTER LESS THAN A MONTH, THE SAME PROBLEM OCCUR WHEN I HAD GONE TO MY DAUGHTER'S DAYCARE TO PICK HER UP. I PARKED THE VEHICLE IN THE PARKING LOT, WENT IN THE CLASS TO PICK UP MY DAUGHTER AND WHEN I RETURNED TO THE VEHICLE MY POWER STEERING ASSIST WAS GONE. IT HAS BEEN ALMOST A YEAR SINCE I PARKED THE VEHICLE WAITING FOR A RECALL BUT IT HAS NOT HAPPENED. THE COST OF REPAIR IS SO EXPENSIVE FOR A CAR WITH ONLY ABOUT 40,000 MILES ON IT. I SURELY DESERVE A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM ASAP.
WHILE DRIVING POWER STEERING LIGHT CAME ON AND POWER STEERING COMPLETELY WENT OUT. *TR
WATER LEAK IN TRUNK CAUSED BY TAIL LAMP SEALS LEAKING WATER INTO TRUNK AS ADVISED BY DEALER INSPECTION.
ON 12/21/16 WHILE MERGING ONTO INTERSTATE 10 IN TUCSON, AZ, THE VEHICLE WAS GOING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH WHEN A "ENGINE POWER REDUCED" SIGN POPPED UP, THE VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN TO 30 MPH WITHOUT WARNING AND SHIFTING DOWN THROUGH ALL GEARS NEARLY RED LINING THE RPMS AND CAUSING AN REAR-END COLLISION. WAS ABLE TO MOVE THE VEHICLE OFF THE FREEWAY AND TOOK IT INTO LOCAL AUTO-ZONE FOR TESTING. THE TEST CAME BACK AS A "THROTTLE SENSOR MALFUNCTION". THE VEHICLE NOW DOESN'T FEEL SAFE TO DRIVE, AND WILL NOT ACCELERATE OVER 45 MPH WITHOUT SHAKING AND FEELING LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS GOING TO GIVE OUT. CALLED THE LOCAL CHEVY DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THE COST WAS GOING TO VARY BETWEEN $400-1,000 WITH A $100 TEST FEE UP FRONT. I'VE ALSO READ NUMEROUS SIMILAR ISSUES ONLINE FROM PEOPLE DRIVING CHEVROLET IMPALA FROM 2006-2016. THE CAR FEEL VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND I FEEL IT COULD BE A DEATH TRAP AS THERE IS NO CONTROL OVER WHEN THE VEHICLE WILL CHOOSE TO DECELERATE WITHOUT WARNING. THERE HAS BEEN NO MECHANICAL ISSUES BEFORE THIS INCIDENT, AND THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN THROUGH NUMEROUS MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE UP-KEEPS THAT WERE RECOMMENDED BY SERVICE MANAGERS. *TR
I HAVE A 2014 CHEVROLET IMPALA WITH 34,000 MILES. I WAS INFORMED MY AC COMPRESSOR HAS A LEAK AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. ALL VEHICLE MAINTENANCE HAS BEEN COMPLETED BY THE DEALER ROGER DEAN CHEVROLET. THEY GAVE ME A QUOTE OF $1,470 TO REPAIR MY CAR. IM VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT THIS COULD HAPPEN ON MY CAR SO SOON. I HAVE BOUGHT 6 VEHICLES FROM THIS MANUFACTURER AND FEEL THIS IS UNJUST. PLEASE HELP.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE CONTACT SMELLED BURNING RUBBER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WIRES OF THE REAR DEFROSTER WERE BURNT AND FRACTURED THE REAR WINDOW. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. WHILE TURNING RIGHT AND BACKING UP OR TURNING RIGHT INTO A PARKING SPACE AT LOW SPEED THE STABILITRAC/ TRACTION CONTROL ACTIVATES AND STOPS THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT WHEEL FOR A MOMENT, AND THEN RELEASES AND A GRINDING/RUBBING NOISE IS HEARD COMING FROM THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT WHEEL WHEN THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS AND IS A RANDOM PROBLEM THAT HAPPENS MORE FREQUENTLY, WHEN IT IS COLD AND DAMP.
THE REARVIEW MIRROR ADHESIVE ON MY 2014 CHEVROLET IMPALA HAS FAILED, RESULTING IN A DANGLING REARVIEW MIRROR WHICH AFFECTS MY SAFETY IN HAVING VISIBILITY WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE. GENERAL MOTORS AND/OR CHEVROLET WAS NEGLECTFUL IN ENSURING THIS PIECE OF THE 2014 CHEVROLET IMPALA WAS ENGINEERED CORRECTLY SO THAT OPERATORS CAN HAVE REARVIEW MIRROR STABILITY FOR THE DURATION OF OWNERSHIP. UPON CONTACTING GENERAL MOTORS, THEIR ONLY SUGGESTION WAS FOR THE OWNER TO BEAR THE COST OF PURCHASING AN ENTIRELY NEW WINDSHIELD AND ADHESIVE. STABILITRAK CONTROL SYSTEM I AM CONTACTING YOU ABOUT THE SAFETY HAZARD OF THE STABILITRAK CONTROL SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONING ON OUR 2014 IMPALA LT CHEVROLET. ON NOVEMBER 7, 2016 I WAS DRIVING FROM MY HOME IN PERFECT WEATHER CONDITIONS AND THE CAR SUDDENLY WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE INFORMATION CENTER READ 'SERVICE STABILITRAK' AND 'ENGINE POWER REDUCED'. THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON. I CALLED GM CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE LOCAL CHEVROLET SERVICE CENTER FELIX CHEVROLET TO SCHEDULE SERVICING ON THE VEHICLE. I ASSUMED THE REPAIR HAD CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. THEN ON MARCH 7, 2017 IN PERFECT DRIVING CONDITIONS THE SAME THING HAPPENED WHEN I WAS LEAVING FOR AN APPOINTMENT. THE VEHICLE INFORMATION CENTER READ 'SERVICE STABILITRAK' AND 'ENGINE POWER REDUCED'. THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON. I IMMEDIATELY RETURNED HOME AND CALLED GM. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO FELIX CHEVROLET. THE MILEAGE ON THE CAR WAS 13907, LESS THAN 159 MILES LATER. THE DIAGNOSIS THIS TIME WAS THE NEED TO REPLACE THE ACC SENSOR AND THE REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. I HAVE ASKED BOTH THE DEALERSHIP AND GM TO EXPLAIN WHY STABILITRAK ENGAGES SO UNEXPECTEDLY AND MY CONCERNS ABOUT THE SAFETY OF DRIVING THIS VEHICLE, ESPECIALLY ON THE FREEWAY WITH THE SUDDEN REDUCED ENGINE POWER PREVENTING YOU FROM BEING ABLE TO ACCELERATE PROPERLY. NO ONE CAN REASSURE ME THAT THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN.
AT 29K THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL BEARING BECAME DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN AT SUCH LOW MILEAGE. YES THIS VEHICLE IS EXPOSED TO NYS WINTERS BUT THE CAR IS GARAGED AND WELL MAINTAINED. THE REAR OF THE KNUCKLE IS WIDE OPEN TO THE ELEMENTS EXPOSING THE HUB BEARING TO THE ELEMENTS AND THIS IS AN EASY FIX SIMPLY BY CREATING A CAP ON THE BACK SIDE OF THE KNUCKLE ELIMINATING DEBRIS EXPOSURE. IT IS MY OPINION THAT THE PART WAS SIMPLY DEFECTIVE BASED ON SEVERAL NEWER SIMILAR GM VEHICLES HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. *TR
MY IMPALA 2014 SUDDENLY SAYS 'SERVICE STABILITRAK' IN THE DISPLAY AND THE ENGINE POWER DRASTICALLY REDUCES. I HAVE SEE THIS IN FORUMS THAT IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH GM CARS AND IT HAPPENED TO ME COUPLE OF TIMES. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE WHEN HAPPENS AT FREEWAYS OR ANY FASTER TRAFFIC ROUTES.
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR THE ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE ENGAGED. WE WERE ON A CITY STREET ON A HILL. HAD TO BE TOWED. ENGINE FAULT LIGHT WAS ON. ON 6/22/16 EBRAKE MESSAGE ON DASH. CAR HAD DIFFICULTY PASSING INSPECTION ON5/31/16
WHILE DRIVING AND ACCELERATING TO GET ON THE HIGHWAY THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL "STABILITRACT" LIGHT POPPED UP ON THE DASH SCREEN AND REDUCED THE ENGINE'S POWER, REDUCING MY SPEED TO A MAXIMUM OF 30 MPH WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE TO THE POSTED 55 MPH SPEED LIMIT. I WAS TRAVELING IN A STRAIGHT LINE WHEN THE "STABILITRACT" & "ENGINE POWER BEING REDUCED" INFORMATION POPPED UP. THE CAR WOULD NOT GO OVER 30 MPH. THIS CAUSED ME TO HAVE TO PULL OVER AND NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THE SLOW NATURE OF THE VEHICLE, EVEN WITH THE EMERGENCY FLASHERS ON. THIS IS SEVERAL INCIDENTS WITH THIS PARTICULAR CAR, HAVING ELECTRONIC FAILURE. THE WORST OF IT WAS WHEN THE COLLISION SENSOR WAS AFFECTED BY A LEAK IN THE CAR AFTER HAVING TO HAVE THE WINDSHIELD REPLACED DUE TO THE REAR VIEW MIRROR FALLING OFF. THAT INCIDENT CAUSED THE CAR TO SLAM ON IT'S BREAKS DUE AN ELECTRICAL ERROR. THIS CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR NUMEROUS ELECTRICAL ISSUES. CHEVROLET HAS REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING BUT THE BARE MINIMUM TO GET THE CAR BACK ON THE ROAD OBVIOUSLY NOT FIXING THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM, AS THIS IS ONCE AGAIN AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE. NOT SAFE TO DRIVE IF THE ELECTRONICS ARE GOING TO CONTINUE TO FAIL.
AT ABOUT 85,000 MILES I AM GETTING A GRINDING NOISE FROM THE LEFT FRONT SIDE. DEALER SAID IT WAS BEARINGS, WHICH I HAD REPLACED AT A PRIVATE GARAGE. NOW THE SOUND IS BACK AFTER ONLY A THOUSAND MILES OR SO. TYPICALLY, IT HAPPENS AT LOW SPEED, AND MOSTLY WHEN TURNING LEFT.
