TAKATA RECALL" WHEN THE CAR STARTS UP AND IS PUT INTO DRIVE, THERE'S A HARD GRINDING NOICE AROUND FRONT WHEELS. ONCE WE TURN OFF THE TRACTION CONTROL IT STOPS AND DRIVES FINE. IF TRACTION CONTROL IS ON YOU CAN'T TURN THE CAR LEFT OR RIGHT WITHOUT GRINDING
MY DRIVERS PASSENGER SIDE HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY LEAKS EVERY TIME IT RAINS OR WHEN THE VEHICLE GETS WASHED. I'VE BEEN STOPPED TWICE BY LAW ENFORCEMENT AND GIVEN A WARNING ABOUT MY HEADLAMP BEING OUT. I'VE REPLACED THE HEAD LIGHT TWICE AT $57.00 EACH TIME. I CAN'T AFFORD TO KEEP REPLACING THIS LIGHT. GM WANTS OVER $1500 TO REPLACE THE HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY. I DON'T FEEL I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS REPLACEMENT. CADILLAC & EQUINOX ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I NEVER IN ALL OF THE GM VEHICLES I HAVE EVER OWNED HAD THIS KIND OF A PROBLEM. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED PER A RECALL PERTAINING TO THE STEERING; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS STILL EXPERIENCING THE SAME FAILURE. WHILE LEAVING THE DEALER, THE POWER STEERING FAILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND NO ADDITIONAL REPAIRS WERE MADE TO THE VEHICLE. THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
THE CAR HAS PUSH BUTTON START FORGOT TO SHUT THE CAR OFF THE CAR KEPT RUNNING FOR OVER AN HOUR WITH THE DOORS OPEN SOMEONE COULD HAVE VERY EASILY STOLE THE CAR BY JUST GETTING IN AND DRIVING AWAY NOTE THE KEY FAB WAS NOT IN THE CAR YET IT COULD BE DRIVEN ....THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM...THE CHEVY DEALER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM YET NO FIX APPLIES TO THIS PROBLEM THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME AT LEAST 3 TIMES....
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE POWER STEERING SEIZED AND THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO A FIRE HYDRANT. THE POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT ABLE TO RESTART. THE FRONT BUMPER WAS FRACTURED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES SUSTAINED AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 14V450000 (STEERING) AND 14V409000 (STEERING). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000.

ON JULY 3, 2016 I WAS TRAVELING ON A ROAD (HWY 620 IN LAKEWAY TX) ON A CURVE AT AROUND 50-55 MPH AND THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT.
BREAKS SQUEAL CONSTANTLY THEY ARE NEW PADS AND BREAKS CAN FIND ANY PROBLEMS HAVE TAKEN IT TO SEVERAL AUTO SHOPS AND DEALERSHIPS AND AS ABOUT ANY RECALL ISSUES IT SEEMS AS IF THEY ARE LOCKED UP I CAN NOT TAKE IT THROUGH A DRIVE THROUGH CAR WASH IT WILL NOT GO UP ON THE ROLLERS THE BACK BRAKES ARE LIKE THEY HAVE LOCKED OR I HAVE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ON AND IN REVERSE IS WHEN THEY ARE DRAGGING THIS IS THE FIRST COMPLAINT THAT I HAVE FOUND THAT IS THE SAME ISSUE AS MINE I HAVE CALLED CHEVROLET THEY NEVER MENTIONED ANYTHING ABOUT COMPLAINTS OR ISSUES
Sunshade failure. The sunshade runs back and forth on track to close or open cloth cover. While driving with 4 main windows I pushed button to open shade halfway down the line the shade got off track and you could hear plastic cracking noises. I stopped the shade and pushed it closed more cracking noises and the the whole cloth fell and hung blocking all rear view while on freeway at normal speed. I was able to pull over and slowly push and assist cloth back into car frame so it's not hanging but it no longer works as intended. This is known and per dealership ove 1k for new track and requires moonroof removal to repair. Not covered under warranty

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TENSIONER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,847.
4/27 APPROX 5:20PM @ 70MPH, "LOSS OF ENGINE POWER" AND SOME STABILTY WARNING CAME ON. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND TRACTION LIGHT LIT, WAS IN CENTER LANE, THANKFULLY GOT TO THE LEFT BERM. CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. TURNED OFF, TOUCHED BRAKE A COUPLE TIMES, SAT A FEW MINS, RESTARTED, CK ENGINE LIGHT STILL ON, BUT ENGINE POWER WARNING NOT ON, WAS ABLE TO GET INTO MOVING TRAFFIC AND TOOK TO DEALIER 4/27 APPRX 7PM, WITH GM RENTAL GIVEN TO ME. AS OF 1:12PM, NO CALL YET, NOT SURE WHAT THE ISSUE IS, BUT COULD HAVE BEEN FATAL!!!! BAD, BAD BAD!!! TOOK A PIC, BLURRY THOUGH, FRIGHTENING! TOLD DEALER OF SUDDEN SURGES, BUT INTAKE REP SAID IT WOULD ALL BE RELATED AND DIDNT WRITE IT DOWN.
SAFETY SYSTEMS THAT SENSE CARS AROUND CAR STOPPED WORKING. FRONT, SIDE, AND REAR SENSORS FAILED. INDICATOR LIGHTS IN MIRRORS CEASED TO FUNCTION. DEALER STATES PARTS ARE ON NATIONAL BACK ORDER AND HAVE TO WAIT TO GET THEM.
PURCHASED MY IMPALA NOV. 2013, BRAND NEW, ORDERED FROM DEALER. ONE MONTH LATER AS I STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN AND PROCEEDED TO PULL OUT ONTO THE NEXT STREET, THE CAR STARTED GOING VERY SLOWLY, HARDLY MOVING AND THEN JUST STOPPED. THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING BUT THE CAR WOULDN'T MOVE. I SHIFT INTO MANUAL 1ST GEAR AND THE CAR PROCEEDED TO MOVE. I REPORTED IT TO MY DEALER AND THEY SAID TO LET THEM KNOW IF IT HAPPENED AGAIN. IT'S NOW MARCH 2016 AND IT HAS HAPPENED A TOTAL OF 6 TIMES TO ME...THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE. DEALER SAID THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY COMPLAINTS SIMILAR TO THIS FROM ANY OTHER 2014 AND NEW IMPALA OWNERS. I HAVE FOUND MANY COMPLAINTS IN THE WEBSITE WITH THE SAME EXPERIENCE I HAD. MY RADIO/GPS DISPLAY ALSO GOES BLANK INTERMITTENTLY, THOUGH NOT A SAFETY ISSUE, IT IS VERY UPSETTING WHEN IT HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING IS A STRANGE PLACE AND THE GPS QUITS. THIS REPORT IS OF THE MOST RECENT ISSUE.
WATER WAS LEAKING DOWN FROM OVER HEAD DOME LIGHT AND FROM DOOR JAM, ALL THE MAIN ELECTRICAL SAFETY CONTROLS ARE HOUSED WHERE THE LIGHT IS IN THE ROOF. CALLED DEALERSHIP WAS TOLD FIRST AVAILABLE DATE TO GET THE CAR IN FOR REPAIRS IS FEBRUARY 22ND. ON MY DRIVE HOME FROM WORK THE COLLISION CONTROL CAME ON STARTED FLASHING THE RED LIGHTS ON THE DASH AND SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES, LIKE THE WAS A VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME HAS COME TO A DEAD STOP, EXCEPT THERE WAS NO VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME, THE ROAD WAS OPEN. I WAS GETTING OFF THE HIGHWAY WHEN THIS OCCURRED, WHILE DRIVING IN A STRAIGHT LINE. WHEN HOME AND THE CAR WAS TURNED OFF I'M GETTING ERRORS SAYING KEY FOB ISN'T IN THE CAR, AND THE ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE NEEDS TO BE SERVICED. THE CAR IS INOPERABLE AT THIS POINT. EVEN IF IT DOES START AGAIN IS A SAFETY HAZARD AT BEST AND HAS TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS. IT CANNOT BE DRIVEN IN THE ELECTRICAL STATE IT'S IN.
TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH WITH CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED, I PRESSED THE ACC BUTTON TO INCREASE SPEED. I RELEASED THE BUTTON WHEN I REACHED THE DESIRED SPEED (72 MPH) AND THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. THE PACE OF THE ACCELERATION WAS MUCH FASTER THAN NORMAL USE OF THIS FEATURE. (IT FELT AS IF THE ACCELERATOR WAS FLOORED). THE SPEED INCREASED TO BETWEEN 85 AND 90 MPH BEFORE I COULD REACT. I TURNED THE CRUISE OFF AND IMMEDIATELY THE SPEED BEGAN TO DECREASE. THIS OCCURRED ON AN INTERSTATE THAT WAS FAIRLY FLAT.
FUEL PUMP HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE. 1ST TIME ON NOV 28,2014(12,314 MILES) AND THEN AGAIN ON DEC 28,2015(30,311 MILES). THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON 12/04/15(29,448 MILES) AND THE DENTON,TX DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPT WAS CLOSED SINCE IT WAS A SATURDAY AFTERNOON.HOWEVER WE WERE ADVISED THAT THE CAR WAS SAFE TO DRIVE HOME. LIGHT WENT OFF THE NEXT DAY AND THE WACO,TX DEALERSHIP COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE ON DECEMBER 21,2015 (29,848). ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON DECEMBER 26,2015. SAME ISSUE AS BEFORE. ALSO NOTE THE FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR WAS REPLACED ON JUNE 06,2015 (21,408 MILES). THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN & OUT OF THE DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES BUT ISSUE CANNOT BE DUPLICATED UNLESS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. NO CODES DISPLAYING. IT SEEMS THAT THE FUEL SYSTEM IS FAULTY AND THE VEHICLE WILL NEED A NEW FUEL PUMP OR SENSOR EVERY 12,000 MILES.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE AND THEN TO THE BODY SHOP. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DEEMED DESTROYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT SUFFERED BACK, NECK, AND HEAD BRUISES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT HAD FOUR BRUISED VERTEBRAE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 62,000.
THE HEADLIGHTS ON THIS MODEL DO NOT PROVIDE ENOUGH COVERAGE FOR NIGHT DRIVING. THE BEAM DOES NOT SPREAD TO SEE THE SIDE OF THE ROADS OR PROJECT FAR ENOUGH AHEAD TO GIVE YOU ENOUGH VISIBILITY AT HIGHER SPEEDS. THE DEALER SAYS THEY MEET GOVERNMENT STANDARDS. I DON'T DRIVE THIS CAR AT NIGHT BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. IT IS HARD TO DO IN THE WINTER WHEN IT GETS DARK SO EARLY IN THE EVENING.
ELECTRICAL BULK HEAD CONNECTOR TO REAR DEFROSTER/DEFOGGER BURNT AND MELTED ELECTRICAL WIRE INSULATION.
I have a 2014 Impala limited I started having problems within 6 months after I bought the vehicle from Bergstrom Chevrolet in Wisconsin it was involving the ABS anti-lock stability track and traction control and the braking and steering we're all feeling and locking up while I was driving it presented and problems and endangering my life and the life of any passengers in the vehicle the brakes will lock up and there was no warning before I locked up no lights came on and it would pull to the left or pull to the right depending on which ABS was locking up and it was fixed one time at the dealership then it was fixed again at the dealership later maybe about another 3 to 6 months after and went up for the same thing again and the parts were replaced now I again have had nothing but problems with the braking system. Also the valve that controls the pressure in the fuel tank malfunctioned which caused the car to run irrraticaly it would start hard,stop running at all stops rough ideling and unable to pump gas into the car without the gas pump stopping continuously making the time that it would take to fill the gas tank 3 to 4 times longer than it did that was fixed and it is malfunctioning again. I'm on my fourth time of having my car anti-lock brake system failing on my car multiple systems including the electrical system failing. The dash lights would go off on. The exterior lights going off and on. The car has been off of the streets and unable to be driven many times. I have taken my car in to the Dealership from where I purchased it from. By the third time my car warranty had expired. Then everything was still not repaired all the systems were not ever working correctly. And now the repairs were needed to be paid in full by myself. The cost to me had just begun when it should have been resolved. In excess of $6,000 was what it would cost me the third time I had the Impala in for everything and now it's gone out again and I'm having to get this repaired.

UPON RESUMING TO 68 MPH, THE CONTACT HIT RESUME ON THE CRUISE CONTROL, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED TO 90 MPH WITHOUT WARNING, AND THE CONTACT TURNED THE CRUISE CONTROL OFF TO STOP THE ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON ANOTHER OCCASION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,000. FIVE RED WARNING LIGHTS FLASHED ON THE WINDSHIELD FOLLOWED BY SEVERAL BEEPS. HAPPENED TWO DAYS IN SUCCESSION. THERE WERE 3 ADULTS AND TWO CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE. (NORMAL OPERATION ONLY ONE OR TWO ADULTS) ON A TWO LANE ROADWAY, ROUNDING A CURVE AT 35-40 MPH. PAVEMENT DRY, DAYLIGHT, NOTHING IN FRONT OF US. TRUCK APPROACHING FROM OPPOSITE DIRECTION IN HIS OWN LANE. NO AUTOMATIC BRAKING OR SPEED CHANGE NOTICEABLE. I DID NOT SENSE ANY DANGERS PRESENT. DEALER DENIES ANY KNOWLEDGE OF THIS SITUATION. NOTHING LIKE THIS EVER HAPPENED DURING THE FIRST 6,000 MILES OF OPERATION UNDER A VARIETY OF DRIVING CONDITIONS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET IMPALA EQUIPPED WITH GOODYEAR EAGLE LS-2 TIRES, SIZE: P225/55R17. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND DISCOVERED THAT THERE WAS A BLISTER ON THE SIDEWALL OF THE TIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE TIRE AND VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,000. THE DOT NUMBER WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

POOR HEADLIGHTING. FOGGY LENSE DUE TO DEFECTIVE LENSE MATERIAL FOGGING FROM THE HEAT ON THE INSIDE OF THE LENSE, POOR LIGHT COLOR, TOO SMALL HEAD LIGHTS. VERY HARD TO SEE PROPERLY, ESPECIALLY IF THERE IS A SLIGHT MIST OR RAIN. THERE IS NOT ENOUGH LIGHTING, THE COLOR MAKES EVERY THING SHINY. HARD TO SEE THE LINES IN THE ROAD AND ROAD EDGES. POOREST CAR LIGHTING I HAVE EVER OWNED. THE DEALER SAYS THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO TO IMPROVE THE HEAD LIGHTS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOUR TIMES WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NO DEFECT. THE CONTACT FELT UNSAFE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.
CAR STALLED TAKING A RIGHT TURN INTO TRAFFIC HAD TO RESTART
ON COLD START VEHICLE EXHAUST AT THE Y FLEX PIPE WILL RATTLE FOR APPROX. 15-20 SECONDS UNTIL EXHAUST BECOMES WARM.
THE HEADLAMPS DO NOT ILLUMINATE THE ROAD SUFFICIENTLY TO SEE ONCOMING FEATURES SAFELY. BASED ON MY RESEARCH, I'M NOT THE FIRST ONE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS ISSUE. *DT
I HAVE A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH THE 2014 -15 CHEVY IMPALA LIGHTING, THE HEADLIGHTS AT NIGHT DO NOT SHINE OR FAN OUT TO SEE WHEN TURNING RIGHT OR LEFT ON A DARKENED ROAD THE LIGHTS SEEM TO BE ADJUSTED TO A PIN POINT SETTING STRAIGHT AHEAD. I WAS TUNING LEFT FROM A ROAD TO A UNLIT ROAD THAT WAS TOTALLY BLACK WHEN LOOKING OUT THE LEFT SIDE WINDOW TO TURN WHEN I TURNED I WAS HEADED FOR THE WOODS LUCKILY I WASN'T GOING FAST SO I COULD BACK UP TO TURN TO THE ROAD THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL TO FIX THIS PROBLEM BEFORE THERE ARE SOME ACCIDENT'S BECAUSE OF THESE HEADLIGHTS THERE COULD BE A PERSON CROSSING A STREET THAT YOU WON' SEE ON A DARK STREET TURN. I HAVE HAD AN ON GOING PROBLEM WITH THE STABILITRAK, ABS, AND PARKING BRAKE COMING ON AND STAYING ON. THE FIRST TIME THAT THE STABILITRAK CAME ON I WAS JUNE 2015, 3 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 65 MILES AN HOUR AND HAD TO PULL OVER AND SHUT THE CAR OFF TO GET THE STABILITRAK TO GO OFF. ON 3 OTHER SEPARATE OCCASIONS I WAS PARKED AND COULD NOT GET THE CAR INTO ANY GEAR. SOMEHOW THE PARKING BREAK HAD ENGAGED AND WOULD NOT GO OFF. ONCE I SAT STRANDED IN A PARKING LOT WAITING ON ROADSIDE SERVICE, BUT WAS RESCUED BY MY SON WHO TWEEKED WITH THE CONTROLS UNTIL CAR WAS ABLE TO SHIFT. I HAVE TAKEN CAR TO DEALERSHIP ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT THERE ARE 16 DIFFERENT CODES SHOWING, AND THAT EACH CODE MUST BE ADDRESSED IN ORDER TO FIX THE ISSUE. I HAVE SPOKEN TO THE MANUFACTURER, BUT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DUE SINCE I WAS PAST THE 5,000 MILES/36 MONTHS. I WAS 608 MILES PAST. I PLEADED WITH THE REPRESENTATIVE, BUT WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO SINCE THERE WERE NO OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE ISSUES. I'VE HAD THIS VEHICLE FOR OVER 3 YEARS, AND IT HAS ONLY BEEN FULLY OPERATIONAL FOR 11 MONTHS OF THOSE 3 YEARS. THIS ISSUE IS COSTING ME MORE IN GAS, BECAUSE INSTEAD OF TAKING THE HIGHWAY TO WORK I HAVE BEEN TAKING LOCAL ROADS. I HAVE ALSO HAD TO RENT VEHICLES DUE TO THESE ISSUE. I STILL HAVE ABOUT 2.5 YEARS LEFT TO PAY ON THIS VEHICLE, AND I AM STILL HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. AUTO REPAIR IS VERY EXPENSIVEL AND I CANNOT AFFORD TO ADDRESS THE 16 CODES UNTIL THEY FIND THE RIGHT ONE. ROUTINE ROTATION OF TIRES AT PEPBOYS AFTER ALIGNMENT REVEALED RADIAL PULL IN ALL 4 TIRES. PEPBOYS SENT ME TO GOODYEAR SERVICE STORES, GIRVIN RD. JAX FL.. THEY DEPTH GAUGED ALL 4 TIRES AT 25% AND STATED "THE EAGLE LS2 TIRES INSTALLED ON NEW CARS ARE NOT OF THE SAME QUALITY THAT ARE SOLD IN THE GOODYEAR STORES, IE INFERIOR.I FILED COMPLAINT TO GOODYEAR AND THEY SENT ME TO GOODYEAR STORES ATLANTIC BLVD JAX, FL. WHERE THEY CONFIRMED ALL4 TIRES HAD RADIAL PULL,( CAUSES VEHICLE TO PULL TO THE CURB) AND THEY COULD NOT CORRECT WITH ALIGNMENT. THEY OFFERED TO REPLACE THE TIRES WITH THE SAME EAGLE LS2 FOR $490.34, AN OUTRAGEOUS PRICE SINCE THE TIRES WERE DEFECTIVE. MGMT. AT THIS STORE ALSO STATED THE TIRES ON THE CAR ARE NOT THE SAME QUALITY THAT THEY SELL, AND THIS IS OUTRIGHT FRAUD ON THE PUBLIC SINCE THERE ARE NO MARKS ON THE TIRES INDICATING SECONDS OR OF LESSER QUALITY THEN STORE TIRES OF SAME SIZE AND MAKE. ON A COUPLE OF DIFFERENT OCCASIONS I HAVE BEEN STOPPED AT A STOPLIGHT OR STOP SIGN. WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS PRESSED TO ACCELERATE, THERE IS HESITATION BY THE VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE CAUSING THE VEHICLE'S ACT OF ACCELERATION TO OCCUR SEPARATELY FROM THE ACT OF PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL.
WHILE TURNING VEHICLE TO THE RIGHT OR LEFT, WHIRRING NOISE OCCURS COMING FROM FRONT SUSPENSION. NOTABLE POWER LOSS WHEN ACCELERATING TO THE RIGHT OR LEFT INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC CREATING A DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR OCCUPANT AND ONCOMING TRAFFIC. WHILE MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN AT SLOW SPEED THE AUTOMOBILE FELT LIKE THE TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTED AND THEN A MESSAGE CAME UP IN THE DIC TELLING ME TO SERVICE THE "STABILITRAK", SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, AND THE ABS LAMP ILLUMINATED. AFTER HAVE THE AUTOMOBILE SAT FOR APPROXIMATELY AN HOUR ALL OF THE ABOVE MESSAGES WERE NO LONGER VISIBLE. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP ON MAY 14, 2015 TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT BUT THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLEMS. THE SAME PROBLEMS HAVE OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY 4-8 TIMES NOW WITH THE INFORMATION STAYING ON IN THE DIC FOR VARIOUS LENGTHS OF TIMES.

I CAN DEAL WITH THE POOR VISIBILITY HEADLAMPS, THE FRONT CAMERA THAT KEEPS FLAGGING "SERVICE FRONT CAMERA" AND CAMERA FALSE ALARMS BUT THE HUGE 19 INCH WHEELS AND TIRES WITH HARDLY ANY SIDEWALL TO ABSORB ROUGH ROADS ARE A RECIPE FOR DISASTER AND DANGEROUS. I LIVE IN THE NORTHEAST AND IT IS LOADED WITH POT HOLES AFTER ONE OF THE WORST WINTERS IN HISTORY BUT WHEN I HIT ONE YESTERDAY ON A HIGHWAY THE TIRE BLEW CAUSING A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. I AM POSITIVE MY OLDER IMPALA'S WITH SMALLER WHEELS WOULD EASILY HAVE HANDLED THIS POT HOLE WITH NO DAMAGE. MY NEW CAR DEVELOPED A HORRIBLE ODOR AFTER ONLY ABOUT 1.5 YEARS OF OWNING IT. I HAD MIDAS MUFFLE LOOK FOR THE ODOR BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE A DEAD MOUSE OR SQUIRREL. AT FIRST THEY COULDN'T FIND IT BUT ON THE SECOND VISIT (YOUR NOT GOING TO BELIEVE THIS) THEY FOUND SOME TYPE OF GROWTH INSIDE THE CAR'S FRAME RAIL ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR. THE SUBSTANCE ACTUALLY LOOKED LIKE SOME KIND OF MOLD OR FUNGUS GROWTH INSIDE THE FRAME RAIL. I THEN TOOK IT TO POHANKA CHEVEROLET, I BROUGHT THEM PICTURES OF THE MOLD/FUNGUS, I BROUGHT THEM SAMPLES OF THE MOLD/FUNGUS AND SHOWED THEM WHERE IT WAS LOCATED. THERE RESPONSE TO ME WAS THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT IT WAS, THEY COULDN'T GET TO IT AND THEY CAN'T FIX IT. THEY RECOMMENDED THAT MAYBE THEIR BODY SHOP COULD FIGURE OUT SOMETHING BUT IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I TOLD THEM THAT THIS PROBLEM WAS MAKING ME AND MY FAMILY SICK TO BE IN THE CAR BUT THEIR RESPONSE WAS HOW SORRY THEY WERE BUT IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE NEW CAR WARRANTY AND BASICALLY NOT THEIR PROBLEM. THEY ALSO REPORTED ON THE INVOICE THAT THE SMELL WAS FROM THE WATER IN THE SPARE TIRE WHEEL WELL WHICH THE SERVICE ADVISOR KNOWS IT WASN'T SINCE HE DIDN'T WANT TO HANDLE THE SAMPLE I BROUGHT AND HE COMPLAINED ABOUT HOW BAD IT SMELLED. I ACTUALLY HAVE NO CLUE WHAT THIS MOLD/FUNGUS IS AND I'M HAVING IT TESTED BY A FAIRFAX LAB NEXT WEEK. ALL IN ALL I HAVE SPENT ALMOST $1000 TRYING TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM BUT MY GUESS IS I"M GOING TO HAVE TO GET RID OF THIS CAR WITH ONLY 12-13000 MILES. I GUESS I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN, THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH THE CHEVY IGNITION SWITCHES EITHER UNTIL SOME FOLKS DIED FROM IT. I'VE NOTICED SIMILAR COMPLAINTS BUT I BET NO ONE HAS LOOKED AT THE CAR'S FRAME RAIL, THIS ISSUE IS TRULY UNBELIEVABLE AND NO ONE I HAVE TALKED TO (INCLUDING POHANKA CHEVEROLET)HAD EVER HEARD, SEEN OR EXPERIENCED SUCH A PROBLEM. *JS
