THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM STARTED TO TRIP OUT. ALL THE CARS SYSTEMS ARE BLINKING ON AND OFF.
WHEN I START MY CAR MY EPB IS STUCK TO MY ROTORS AND WILL NOT DISENGAGE WHILE DRIVING OR WHEN I APPLY THE BRAKE. I AM IN FEAR THAT MY BRAKES WILL CATCH FIRE FROM THE FICTION. THE RECALL THAT WAS ON THIS ISSUE, WHEN MY VIN WAS CHECKED IT SAID MY CAR WASN'T AFFECTED BY THIS BUT CLEARLY IT IS. THE RECALL SAID THE DEALER NEEDS TO UPDATE THE ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE SOFTWARE BUT THEY WILL NOT DO IT BECAUSE MY CAR HAS A SALVAGE TITLE. ALSO MY CAR WON'T GO OVER 50MPH BECAUSE THE BRAKES ARE ENGAGED AND WONT RELEASE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE FRONT DRIVER'S SEAT BELT UNLATCHED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO KELLY CHEVROLET (5220 VALUE DR., FORT WAYNE, IN 46805, 260-484-5566) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE SEAT BELT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000.
THE POWER STEERING FAILED ON A INTERSTATE RAMP, I PULLED TO THE SIDE AND RESTARTED THE CAR AND IT WORKED AGAIN. IT FAILED TWO MORE TIMES ON THE DRIVE HOME AND TWICE WHILE DRIVING TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE CAR HAD 11035 MILES AND WAS 40 MONTHS OLD. I HAD TO PAY $3051 TO HAVE THE POWER STEERING RACK REPLACED.
WHILE IN MOTION, 70 MPH WITH CRUISE AND A/C ON, ALL DASH INDICATORS SHUT OFF. CRUISE SHUT OFF AS WELL AS A/C. WITHIN A FEW SECONDS EVERYTHING CAME BACK ON...LIKE I RESTARTED THE CAR. IT DID THAT SEVERAL TIMES IN A ROW AND EACH TIME EVERY CONCEIVABLE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH (CLUSTER PANEL). ALL HAPPENING WHILE TRAVELING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH. WHEN THE DASH FINALLY STOPPED THIS CYCLING, IT LEFT THE CAR WITHOUT ANY INDICATORS (SPEED, TACH, FUEL, ETC)...THEY WERE ALL ON ZERO. FORTUNATELY, MY GARMIN GPS TOLD ME MY SPEED. THINGS REMAINED THAT WAY UNTIL I STOPPED AND SHUT OFF THE CAR FOR ABOUT AN HOUR. AFTER RESTARTING THINGS WERE NORMAL, EXCEPT THAT MY DRIVERS SIDE MIRROR COLLISION AVOIDANCE INDICATOR REMAINED ON. THAT INDICATOR REMAINS ON 24/7...EVEN WHEN THE CAR IS OFF AND PARKED OVERNIGHT. I FINALLY HAD TO REMOVE THE FUSE TO GET IT TO SHUT OFF. I LEAVE THE FUSE OUT ALL THE TIME NOW. THE ERRATIC DASH BOARD TROUBLE HAD HAPPENED ONE OTHER TIME PREVIOUSLY. THE MIRROR ANTI COLLISION INDICATORS HAD BEEN MALFUNCTIONING FOR ABOUT THREE MONTHS PRIOR TO THE ERRATIC DASH BOARD INCIDENTS.
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the side mirror blind spot detection system malfunctioned, and the warning light blinked constantly and blinked while no oncoming vehicle was present. The contact stated that the failure occurred on both the driver’s side and passenger’s side mirrors. The contact stated that while the failure occurred the electronic cluster also malfunctioned, and the doors and trunk lid would not always open, and the vehicle would not always start immediately. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who replaced an unknown module kit. The contact stated that the vehicle had been repaired for the same failure on three previous occasions. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 40,000.
TAKATA RECALL PROBLEM WHEN SUNROOF SHADE NOT WORKING. CAN NOT OPEN SUNROOF SHADE
TAKATARECALL- CRUNK MY CAR UP TO GO TO WORK AND THE SERVICE STABILITRAK MESSAGE WAS ON. NO INDICATE IN GEAR SHIFT. WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO PUT CAR IN GEAR IT WOULD JERK LIKE THE TRANSMISSION WAS STUCK. I ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE CAR WOULD NOT PICK UP SPEED ON THE HIGHWAY. I HAD TO RETURN BACK HOME AND HAVE THE CAR TOWED.
NAPA HYBRID WIPER BLADE LOCK DOES NOT STAY CLOSED AND ALLOWS WIPER BLADE TO SLIP IN THE WIPER ARM HOOK. IT COULD COME OFF. NAPA ASSOCIATE KNEW OF THIS PROBLEM AND OFFERED TO REPLACE THE BLADE IF I WOULD BY A MORE EXPENSIVE BLADE. I AM STILL USING THE BLADE AND TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO MAKE A HOMEMADE FIX BEFORE WINTER. THESE BLADES SHOULD NOT BE SOLD BECAUSE THE BLADE RETAINER LOCK IS POORLY ENGINEERED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE SIDE DETECTION WARNING INDICATOR FAILED TO OPERATE AND "SIDE DEFECT DETECTION WAS OFF" ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE BRAKES MADE SQUEAKING NOISES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO MEMORIAL HIGHWAY CHEVROLET INC. (1 CHEVY DRIVE, WINDBER, PA 15963, 814-467-4596) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE HARNESS CONNECTED TO THE SIDE DETECTION LIGHT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TECHNICIAN ALSO STATED THAT THE BRAKE PADS NEEDED TO THE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND STATED THAT THE REPAIR COST FOR THE SIDE DETECTION LIGHT WOULD BE DISCOUNTED. THE FAILURES WERE NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 28,400.
TODAY IS THE SECOND TIME IN 6 MONTHS THAT MY CAR HAS DONE THIS. 2014 CHEVY IMPALA 62,000 MILES, 4 CYLINDER. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MILES AN HOUR AND FIRST THE "SERVICE STABILITRAK" WARNING COMES UP. THEN THE "ENGINE POWER REDUCED" WARNING APPEARS. THE ENGINE WILL NOT GO ABOVE 20 MPH AT THIS POINT. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE ON THE HIGHWAY AT SPEEDS OF 65 AND SUDDENLY YOU HAVE NO POWER! I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC WHO COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. HE TOLD ME TO PULL OVER AND SHUT THE CAR OFF AND RESTART IT. I DID THAT AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON BUT I DID GET MY ENGINE POWER BACK. I'M TERRIFIED DRIVING THIS CAR. SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED IN THIS SITUATION. I READ ALL OVER THE INTERNET ABOUT THIS SAME PROBLEM AND NOTHING IS BEING DONE ABOUT IT. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL!
WHILE DRIVING POWER STEERING FAILED, LEAVING A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. FOR A CAR WITH ONLY 74,000 MILES IT IS UNACCEPTABLE THAT THE ENTIRE POWER STEERING RACK SHOULD BE REPLACED AND ONLY A DEALER CAN REPROGRAM THAT RACK. IT IS A COST OF OVER $3,000 AND WITH A PRIOR MINIMAL RECALL I SMELL A LARGER QUALITY ISSUE.
IT WOULD CUT OFF AND WILL NOT START WITH EVERYTHING GOING BLANK THOUGHT IT WAS THE BATTERY GOT A NEW ONE TO REPLACE THE OLD ONE BUT STILL DOING THE SAME THING THEN THE POWER STEERING LIGHT WILL COME ON SOMETIMES WHEN DRIVING AND WE PUT IN A NEW ALTERNATOR THINKING THAT IT WOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM THAT DIDN'T WORK STILL CUTS OFF AND WON'T START UNTIL 15-20 MINUTES HAD IT CHECKED BY A MECHANIC AND THEY COULDN'T FIND THE PROBLEM SCARED TO DRIVE IT DO TO HAVING MY KIDS IN THE CAR WITH ME OR GOING TO WORK AND IT HAPPENS OFTEN THEN IT SHOULD AND ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR A YEAR AND A HALF AND IT HAVE DONE IT AT LEAST 5 TIMES ALREADY
WE BOUGHT OUR 2014 CHEVY IMPALA LTZ MARCH 2018. THE BACK TRUNK AREA WHERE SPARE TIRE IS HAS FILLED WITH WATER MULTIPLE TIMES LEADING TO MOLD WE HAVE BREATHED IN. WE HAVE TO KEEP CLEANING AND EMPTYING WATER OUT TO TRY AND KILL THE MOLD. THIS IS AWFUL. WE ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES MANY COMPLAINTS WITH BAD TAIL LIGHT GASKETS. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL!!! GM SHOULD HAVE TO REPLACE AT NO COST TO THE CONSUMER. MOLD IS DANGEROUS AND CAN BE DEADLY.
DRIVING IN HIGHWAY AND THE POWER STEERING WHEEL BECOMES EXTREMELY HARD TO TURN MOVE IT COMPLETELY ELECTRIC SHUT OFF IT WAS IN DANGEROUS SITUATION VEHICLE RUNNING AND AND CAN'T EVEN MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL DASHBOARD SHOWED POWER STEERING NEED SERVICE. WENT TO SIDE OF HIGHWAY FOR FEW MINS AND WENT BACK TO CAR AND TURN ON WORK BACK TO NORMAL THIS WILL BE THE SECOND TIME HAPPEN 1ST WAS ON THE GARAGE TURN ENGINE BUT STEERING WHEEL WONT MOVE AT ALL VERH HARD...
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE ON INTERSTATE AFTER WORK A BURNING SMELL WAS NOTICED FOLLOWED BY THE STABILITRAK, ABS AND SERVICE POWER STEERING LIGHTS CAME ON, WHICH MADE THE VEHICLE VERY HARD TO TURN. TOOK VEHICLE TO A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP BELIEVING IT WAS A RECALL DUE TO RESEARCH ONLINE, SERVICE DEPARTMENT STATED THE RECALL WAS FIXED SO THEY REPROGRAMMED IT. UPON LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP, THE BRAKES WERE GRINDING AND ALL THE LIGHTS CAME BACK ON. TOOK BACK TO SERVICE AND IT'S TAKEN 3 DAYS FOR THEM TO TRY AND FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG. THEY'VE NOW DECIDED IT NEEDS A NEW STEERING GEAR. I'VE RESEARCHED OTHER 2014 IMPALAS HAVING A RECALL ON STEERING GEARS BUT THIS VEHICLE IS NOT LISTED? HOW IS THAT? I FEEL IT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AND FIXED SINCE THERE'S BEEN PREVIOUS RECALLS REGARDING THE WHOLE ELECTRICAL STEERING SYSTEM, STEERING MODULES, AND STEERING GEARS. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS SAYING IT IS GOING TO BE $2,800 TO FIX.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT APPROX 70 MPH WHEN THE POWER STEERING QUIT WORKING. TWO WARNING MESSAGES CAME ON STATING THAT THE "POWER STEERING NEEDED TO BE SERVICED", THE "STABILITRACK NEEDED TO BE SERVICED" AND THE ABS WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. THE CAR BECAME DIFFICULT TO STEER. I HAD MY SON AND A NEIGHBOR'S CHILD IN THE CAR WITH ME. IT WAS NOT A SAFE CONDITION.
HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY CAR WHEN I DO A TURN IN STERRING WHEEL IT MAKES A CRAKING SOUND I HVE CHANGED BRAKES AND OTHER PART IN ORDER TO FIX BUT DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM , ALSO I BRAKED HARD ONCE AND THE BRAKES LOCKED AND STAYED THAT WAY I HAD TO GET VEHICLE TOWED BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE AND THIS HAPPEN BEFORE NEW BRAKES, ALSO WHEN I TURN ALL THE LIGHT TURN OS AS FOR BRAKES TURNING AND OTHER THINGS.
DRIVING TO WORK AND ALL THE EMERGENCY LIGHTS ON MY DASHBOARD CAME ON FOR NO REASON. THE SPEEDOMETER, TACHOMETER, GAS GAUGE, TEMPERATURE GAUGE, RADIO AND HEATER/AC CONTROLS AND TURN SIGNALS QUIT WORKING. ADDITIONAL WARNING LIGHTS ON DASHBOARD WE'RE STABILTRAC, ABS, AIR BAG, TIRE MONITOR AND BRAKE LIGHT. PREVIOUS TO THIS WE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE BLIND SPOT MONITOR SYSTEM NOT FUNCTIONING. THE CAR HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP NOW FOR ABOUT 5 WEEKS WITH NO ANSWER. THEY CURRENTLY HAVE 3 OTHER IMPALAS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. WE LIVE IN A TOWN OF UNDER 10,000 PEOPLE SO WHAT ARE THE ODDS THAT WE ARE THE ONLY ONES. SORRY I DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO MY VIN NUMBER AT THIS TIME.

THE CONTACT TURNED THE VEHICLE AROUND AND DROVE HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BOYD CHEVROLET CADILLAC BUICK (1875 SPARTANBURG HWY, HENDERSONVILLE, NC 28792) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT IT NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE REPAIR FEES. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED AND DID NOT OFFER FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,729.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE REAR WINDSHIELD EXPLODED WITHOUT IMPACT. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 92,000.
ELECTRICAL FAILURES. I EXPERIENCED A FAILURE IN MY STABILITRAK, POWER STEERING AND ABS SYSTEM ON MY 2014 CHEVY IMPALA 2LT. THIS CAUSED MY VEHICLE TO LOSE POWER STEERING, AND ABS BRAKE CONTROL, WHICH WHILE DRIVING ON A RAINY SURFACE (IN MA TODAY 3/2 THE WEATHER WAS INSANE) WAS NOT REASSURING. I HAVE READ NUMEROUS REPORTS OF OTHER PEOPLE EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE AS WELL. CHEVY SEEMS TO HAVE ARE RECALL OPEN FOR POWER STEERING, BUT MY VIN SUPPOSEDLY IS NOT IMPACTED DESPITE ME HAVING A POWER STEERING FAILURE. MANY, MANY ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THIS CAR HAVE BEEN REPORTED, AND YET CHEVY DOES NOTHING TO CORRECT THIS CLEAR SAFETY CONCERN. THANKFULLY THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM ONLY PARTIALLY REDUCED ITSELF, AND DIDN'T COMPLETELY FAIL OR ELSE WHO KNOWS WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED. VERY DANGEROUS AND DISAPPOINTING THAT NOTHING IS BEING DONE TO PROTECT PEOPLE.
THIS CAR HAS BEEN A LEMON SINCE WE OWNED IT. FIRST THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHUT DOWN (WHILE WE WERE DRIVING AT 70 MPH), THEN THE WHEEL BARRINGS NEEDED REPLACING AT 60,000 MILES, AND NOW THE SOLENOID HAS GONE BAD PREVENTING THE CAR FROM SHIFTING.
ABS AND STABILITY CONTROL LIGHTS CAME ON 3DAYS AGO
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN AN UNKNOWN RECALL FOR THE TAIL LIGHT GASKETS, WHICH WAS REPAIRED IN 2014. FOUR YEARS LATER, WHILE OPENING THE TRUNK, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT WATER HAD BUILT UP BY THE SPARE TIRE AND MOLD WAS FORMING ON BOTH SIDES OF THE TRUNK. THE DEALER (CENTENNIAL CHEVROLET, 5209 PITTSBURGH RD, UNIONTOWN, PA 15401) WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,000.
WHILE DRIVING, THE POWER STEERING, ABS AND STABIITRAK ALL BECAME NONFUNCTIONAL AND THE PROBLEM HAS PERSISTED FOR ABOUT A WEEK FOLLOWING THE ONSET. THIS OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING IN A STRAIGHT LINE, WITH NO TURNING INVOLVED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET IMPALA. DURING RAINY WEATHER CONDITIONS, WATER LEAKED INTO THE TRUNK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 67,000.
WARNING INDICATOR LIGHTS BEGAN FLASHING ON THE DASH AND WARNING LIGHTS IN THE MIRRORS FLASHED RANDOMLY. GM DEALER SAID IT WAS A SENSOR THAT WATER HAD LEAKED IN AND CORRODED INSIDE. SAID IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE AND WOULD TAKE A WEEK TO GET THE PART. THE NEXT DAY IT SHUT OFF AFTER ABOUT ONE MINUTE WHEN STARTED WITH THE REMOTE START. WHEN DRIVING ON THE STREET MORE INDICATOR WARNINGS CAME ON: AIRBAG, TRACTION CONTROL, PARKING BRAKE, ETC.; THE A/C CAME ON BY ITSELF; THE HEADLIGHTS, HEATER, AND TURN SIGNALS STOPPED WORKING. STOPPED THE CAR AND SHUT IT OFF FOR ABOUT AN HOUR. AFTER STARTING IT WITH THE KEY AND RUNNING IT FOR ABOUT 3 MINUTES, IT SHUT ITSELF OFF. ONCE STARTED AGAIN, WOULD ONLY MOVE ABOUT A FOOT AND THEN STOPPED SHARPLY, LIKE THE BRAKES HAD BEEN SLAMMED ON. DID THIS SEVERAL TIMES. PARKED IT AGAIN AND HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. THEY STILL SAY IT'S THE SENSOR PROBLEM AND WILL BE $1200 TO FIX. THEY DID NOT INVESTIGATE THE ISSUE FURTHER ALTHOUGH IT IS CLEARLY A SAFETY PROBLEM.

THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BALLAS BUICK (5715 WEST CENTRAL AVE, TOLEDO, OH) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING GEAR WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000.

WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE MESSAGE "SERVICE POWER STEERING AND STABILIZING TRACK" DISPLAYED AND THE POWER STEERING MALFUNCTIONED, WHICH CAUSED THE STEERING WHEEL TO BECOME VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED FOR THE SAME FAILURE ON JANUARY 19, 2018 BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE STEERING SENSOR, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,000.
POWER STEERING WENT OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING.
ON THE MORNING OF MONDAY JANUARY 29, 2018, I WAS DRIVING IN A SCHOOL ZONE AT 20MPH AND ALL OF A SUDDEN I HEAR A POP SO LOUD THAT IT SOUNDED LIKE A GUN SHOT. I LOOK BACK THROUGH THE REAR VIEW MIRROR AND THE BACK GLASS IS COMPLETELY SHATTERED! THERE WERE NO CARS BEHIND ME OR BESIDE ME AS THERE WAS NO TRAFFIC IT'S HIGHLY UNLIKELY SOMETHING HIT THE GLASS. I HAD JUST DROPPED OFF MY KIDS AT SCHOOL AND THEY COULD HAVE BEEN STILL IN THE BACK SEAT WHEN THIS HAPPENED AND IT COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE. THIS SEEMS TO ME TO BE A DEFECT IN THE WINDOW OR DEFROSTER.

I WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THE CAR ACCELERATED QUICKLY. EVEN WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE I COULDN'T STOP IT. THE CAR SLAMMED INTO A STONE PILLAR.
MADE RH TURN AND CAR STALLED AND JERKED STRUGGLING TO MOVE. CAR RECOVERED BUT WAS HAVING PROBLEMS. MADE LH TURN AND SEVICE WARNING "STABILITRACK" CAME ON WITH "LOSS OF ENGINE POWER" AS WELL AS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND TRACTION CONTROL AND STABILITRACK LIGHTS CAME ON. BARELY ABLE TO GET CAR MOVING. WAS ABLE TO GET CAR MOVING BUT HAD TO DRIVE WITH FLASHERS ON DUE TO THE JERKYNESS OF THE ENGINE LOOSING POWER. GOT CAR TO HOME APPROX 1.5 MILES. NOTICED GRINDING NOISE COMING FROM UNDER CAR. AND ALMOST NO POWER TRYING TO GET CAR IN THE DRIVE WAY. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. THIS HAPPENED WHEN CAR WAS TRAVELING AT SPEEDS OF ZERO TO 40 MPH.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT AT 81,000 MILES, THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER FRACTURED AND WAS REPLACED AT PATRIOT CHEVROLET BUICK GMC DEALER, (4401 FORT CAMPBELL BLVD, HOPKINSVILLE, KY 42240, (270) 886-1207) HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING THERE WAS A LOUD NOISED COMING FROM THE MOTOR AND EXHAUST FUMES ENTERED INTO THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HER HUSBAND NOTICED THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WAS FRACTURED. THE SAME DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE SAME DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS THEN REFERRED TO A GMC DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. A CASE WAS FILED BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN THE AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 121,000.

I'VE HAD AN ISSUE WITH MY 2014 CHEVY IMPALA LTZ GETTING LOCKED UP WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL. THIS STARTED A FEW MONTHS AGO, I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM. THE FIRST INCIDENT OCCURED 09/2017, I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 60 MPH, UPON SWITCHING LANES IT FELT LIKE THE STEERING WHEEL JAMMED AND LOCKED FOR A SECOND AND THE ELECTRICAL POWER WENT OUT ON THE RADIO AND DASH. THE ALERTS THEN SAID "POWER STEERING DRIVE WITH CARE' & "FRONT CAMERA' OR SOMETHING TO THAT EFFECT. THIS HAS HAPPENED VARIOUS TIMES SINCE ON CITY STREETS, ANOTHER MESSAGE I'VE SEEN HAS SAID SOMETHING ABOUT STABILITRAK. THE MOST RECENT EPISODE OCCURED ON 12/25/2017. I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET AND TURNED RIGHT AND THE STEERING WHEEL JAMMED AND THE RADIO WENT OUT AND THE SAME MESSAGES CAME UP, I TOOK A VIDEO THIS TIME SO THAT THE DEALERSHIP CAN SEE WHAT THE ISSUE IS. I FOUND THAT THERE IS A RECALL ON OTHER 2014 CHEVY IMPALAS FOR SIMILAR ISSUES WITH POWER STEERING BUT WHEN SEARCHING UNDER MY VIN NUMBER THERE IS NO RECALL ON MY CAR BUT I FEEL AS THOUGH THIS IS A MISTAKE AND MY CAR SHOULD BE RECALLED FOR THIS ISSUE. THIS IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE AND A BIG CONCERN TO ME AS I HAVE TWO SMALL CHILDREN AND ALMOST CRASHED WHILE ON THE FREEWAY DUE TO THIS ISSUE. LUCKILY THE OTHER TIMES THIS HAS OCCURED I WAS ON CITY STREETS NOT DRIVING AT A HIGH SPEED BUT REGARDLESS IT IS STILL A SAFETY HAZARD.

THE MILEGE WAS 37,000. *BF CONSUMER STATED THE ELECTRICAL FAILURE WAS FOUND TO BE RELATED TO MOLD FORMED NEAR THE AMP IN THE TRUNK WHICH WAS CAUSED BY A WATER LEAK IN REAR PASSENGER LIGHT. MY IMPALA 2014 WAS MAKING A LOUD NOISE FROM, THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AS IF IT WAS THE MUFFLER. THE NOISE COULD ONLY BE HEARD WHILE I WAS INSIDE THE VEHICLE. I HAD MY WIFE STAND OUTSIDE WHILE I DROVE THE VEHICLE DOWN OUR STREET AND THE LOUD NOISE COULD NOT BE HEARD OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. WE COULD HEAR THE NOISE ONCE THE VEHICLE REACHED 20 MPH. AFTER GETTING THE MUFFLER CHECKED WE FOUND OUT THE MUFFLER WAS IN GOOD CONDITION., BUT SHORTLY AFTER THE IMPALA STARTED MAKING THE LOUD NOISE WE MADE A LEFT TURN AT A SIGNAL LIGHT AND THE ABS, POWER STEERING, AND STABLITRAK SERVICE LIGHTS CAME ON THE DASHBOARD. THE POWER STEERING HAS GOTTEN INCREASINGLY WORSE SINCE THE SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON.

LOCATED AT 5480 GA HIGHWAY 21 S, RINCON, GA 31326 WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A CRANK VALVE FAILURE, WHICH WAS ALLOWING TO MUCH AIR INTO THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE DEALER WAS WAITING THE CRANK VALVE PARTS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 77,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: [XXX]. THE DEALER REASSURED THE MANUFACTURER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED.
