Power steering failure
My blind spot warning system has stopped working. This same year vehicle was recalled in other options (I have a Impala LTZ). Just curious why the LTZ was not recalled? I don't imagine it is a different system.
When I drive down the road my blind spot detection sensor goes off and lights up in the passenger mirror. It lights up if there is or is not a vehicle in my blind spot and has made me swerve back because I think there is someone or something in my blind spot. I have looked into this problem and it seems that there can be other issues that stem from this malfunction. I have owned the vehicle since 2019 where I purchased from a certified Chevrolet dealer and was not informed of this problem. This problem started to happen about 8 months ago and I reached out to where I purchased the venicle from with no response back from the salesperson I purchased thru. I don't want to continue to deal with this dealership and not get a return call from them. I have not had any other dealership look at this problem but I really need to find someone that can and will take care of this for me. I don't feel safe sometimes when changing lanes or letting my girlfriend us my vehicle to goto the store, or even take her child to school or sporting events he is involved in. I have done some searching on my own and seen that Chevrolet knows about this issue but I still have not received any information about this problem that has been going on for quite a bit of time.
WATER ENTER IN THROUGH TRUNK LEDGE SEALS TO THE DEGREE OF SHORTENING OUT THE HARNESS, RADIO DASH LIGHTING CAMERA BACK WINDOW. THE FLOOR OF THE TRUNK WAS SOAKED AS THOUGH WATER WAD POURED. THE WATER WAS STANDING A LOT IN THE SPARE TIRE WELL. THERE WAS ANOTHER CUSTOMER WITH THE SAME YEAR MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLE THAT HAD THE EXACT SAME ISSUE DAYS PRIOR TO VISIT TO DEALERSHIP.
The 2014 Chevy Impala is dangerous. When the rocker arm control valve and related parts fail or the camshaft solenoids and sensors fail the car will drive rough and eventually just cut off in the middle of traffic highway or residential. This is what it did on me, putting me in a very dangerous position. The economic loss is still devastating financially as all 2.5 and 3.6 engines arent covered by GM special warranty but they should be all covered. My VIN number was not included when it should be.
Transmission pulls back from second to third gear around 20 MPH. Serviced transmission fluid and problem persists. I personally checked the transmission by removing trans cover and determined the problem; he shifting solenoids are faulty.
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that while driving at 35 MPH, the service power steering message appeared on the instrument panel. After the warning light appeared, the contact had to use excessive force to drive the vehicle home. The contact called both the dealer and the manufacturer and was informed that his vehicle was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V450000 (Steering). The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 135,000.
GM had sent a letter in March 2020 about a known defect with the passenger presence module that wires could become disconnected over time, leading to a service airbag message and the passenger airbag failing to deploy when commanded. GM stated that they would provide additional protection (read extended warranty) on this condition to be repaired at no cost within 8 years of the date the vehicle was placed in service or 80000 miles, whichever was first. My 2014 Impala just had this issue occur on July 4, 2021, and when requesting GM to perform this repair at no cost for me (vehicle mileage is 77000 miles), GM stated that this extended warranty ended January 2021. This date does not match the 8 years called out in the letter they sent, as the general public couldn't even buy this vehicle until April 1, 2013 at the very earliest. GM refuses to pay for the fix of a known defect within a critical safety system on one of their vehicles due to a poor design. Conveniently, this issue occurred on my Impala ~1-2 months after the supposed end of coverage date, even though there is nothing documenting why this date was chosen or any data that supports that this issue will only occur inside of the quoted extended warranty window in the letter. GM needs to issue a recall on this rather than an extended warranty that doesn't cover a known defect within their design/manufacturing.
My dashboard reads, service air bag. Everytime I turn it on as of this morning. 6/23/21 @ 1pm central time. I've read about the recall on these models as well of air bags deploying and throwing pieces of metal at drivers. Cause of molded air bag housing.
The ABS and traction control light are always on. Sometimes the brakes kick back up on my foot and the brakes skip until I come to a stop.This doesn't always happen but I have to always be prepared. And there is always a squeaking sound when wheels are in motion. It was never inspected
Fire started behind glove box area and burned electrical wires, instrument panel, airbag, front windshield, hood, water and smoke damage.
Power steering went mostly out while on the interstate. Stabilitrack and Power steering warnings came on. It provides only about 10% assistance now. I must now provide effort to recover from a turn. I understand a recall came out for this model year for this type of issue but I didn't get one. I am the original owner.
I WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT ON FREEWAY AT 70MPH WHEN "SERVICE STABILITRAK" "SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL" AND "ENGINE POWER REDUCED" SHOWED IN MY DASH AS WELL AS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. AT THE SAME TIME THE CAR SHIFTED ITSELF TO 3RD GEAR AND REDUCED SPEED TO 40MPH WITHOUT CHANGE IN DRIVER INPUT. THIS RESULTED IN A NEAR ACCIDENT THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN FATAL. THERE WAS A 18 WHEELER RIGHT BEHIND ME WHO WAS LUCKILY PAYING ATTENTION AND DID NOT CRUSH ME WHEN MY VEHICLE DID THIS. I THEN HAD TO CONTINUE DOWN THE FREEWAY UNABLE TO GO BEYOND 50MPH OR GET OUT OF 3RD GEAR DUE TO TRACTION CONTROL MALFUNCTION. I HAD TRACTION CONTROL SET TO OFF AS I ALWAYS DO, IT'S NOT A NEEDED THING LIVING IN A DRY LOW ELEVATION ENVIRONMENT. IF I APPLIED MORE GAS THE ENGINE WOULD "BOG DOWN" AND NEARLY STALL BECAUSE THE COMPUTER WAS LIMITING SPEED AND GEAR. I NEARLY DIED TODAY BECAUSE OF POOR ENGINEERING.
THIS IS THE 2ND TIME THIS OCCURS IN 3 YEARS .THIS OCCURRED AFTER IT WAS RAINING THE SENSOR IS IN A BAD SPA OR AND GM IS NOT TAKING FAULT BECAUSE IT IS OVER IN MILES AND YEA FOR THE SPECIAL COVERAGE . I WISH THAT I COULD JUST NOT HAVE THE BLIND SPOT DETECTION. CAUSES MORE PROBLEMS THEN WHAT IT'S WORTH.
HAVE HAD CAR AT DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES TOTAL FOR THE SIDE DETECTION SYSTEM MESSAGE/BLIND SPOT INDICATOR LIGHTS. FIRST TWO TIMES THE ISSUE WAS FIXED BECAUSE I HAVE THE MPP COVERAGE PLAN. THIS TIME MPP WOULD HAVE COVERED IT BUT MECHANIC SHOWS WATER INTRUSION. THEIR WAS A RECALL AT ONE TIME FOR VEHICLES UP TO 80,000 MILES. MINE HAS 124,000 SO NOT COVERED BUT WHEN I TOOK IT IN FOR THE SAME THING PRIOR DID NOT HAVE 80,000 MILES. SO EITHER PAY THE $900 OR PAY THE DIAGNOSTIC CHARGE OF $155 AND WALK AWAY WITH ISSUE NOT FIXED . SO MANY COMPLAINTS ON THIS AND GM HAS DONE NOTHING. IF I HAVE FIXED THE MODULE IS OVER $200 FOR THE ONE SIDE. IT KEEPS GOING OUT. GM SHOULD FIX THIS AND CREATE ANOTHER RECALL FOR THIS ALL SO COMMON ISSUE!!
WHEN I PURCHASED MY CAR IN 2020 I NOTICED THAT MY BLIND SPOT WARNING LIGHT IN THE PASSENGERS MIRROR WAS TURNING ON AND OFF. I INFORMED THE DEALER THAT I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM AND THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD REPAIR IT. THEY HAD MENTIONED THAT THERE WAS A DEFECT IN THE BLIND SPOT MONITORING SYSTEM AND THAT THEY WOULD REPLACE IT BEFORE I BOUGHT IT. WITHIN 6 MONTHS THE LIGHT WOULD TURN ON AND OFF AGAIN WHEN THERE WAS NO OTHER VEHICLES IN MY BLIND SPOT. FOR THE LAST YEAR I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO RESEARCH THIS PROBLEM TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. THE ONLY THING I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO FIND IS THAT THE SENSORS IN THE REAR BUMPER FOR BLIND SPOT DETECTION WERE PRODUCED WITH A FAULTY SEAL TO KEEP MOISTURE OUT OF THESE SENSORS. IF THEY KNOW THAT THESE SENSORS WILL COLLECT MOISTURE AND CAUSE THEM TO SHORT OUT THEN WHY IS THERE NO RECALL ON THESE SENSORS? I HAVE HAD MANY TIMES THAT I WAS DRIVING AND WENT TO CHANGE LANES WHEN THE BLIND SPOT MONITOR WOULD BLINK TO INFORM ME THAT THERE IS ANOTHER VEHICLE THERE. IT HAS CAUSED ME TO START TO CHANGE LANES THEN HAVE TO PULL BACK TO AVOID SOMETHING THAT IS NOT EVEN THERE. I WOULD THINK THAT THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND MIGHT EVEN CAUSE ACCIDENTS, IF IT HASN'T ALREADY HAPPENED TO OTHER OWNERS? I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT I CAN DO FOR THIS ISSUE AND TO KNOW IF I'M THE ONLY DRIVER WITH THIS PROBLEM? THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT HAS GOTTEN WORSE OVER TIME AND GOTTEN TO WHERE IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME I DRIVE MY VEHICLE.
WHEN TURNING LEFT THE WHEEL LOCKS UP AS IT WOULD IF THE CAR WERE SLIDING ON ICE. THE STABILITY TRACK ALERT COMES ON. IT BECOMES A PROBLEM WHEN I'M DRIVING IN BUSY TRAFFIC AND TURNING AT AN INTERSECTION BECAUSE IT'LL JUST LOCK UP AND NOT LET ME GO, STOPPING ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION.
THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE HIS SON WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, THE BLIND SPOT ALERT WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE-VIEW MIRROR AND ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE THEN STALLED. THE CONTACT'S SON RESTARTED THE VEHICLE TO DRIVE HOME. THE BLIND SPOT ALERT LIGHT ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE REMAINED ILLUMINATED AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND DRAINED THE BATTERY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE SAW ONLINE THAT THERE WAS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: N172097060 RELATED TO THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO Trecek Automotive of Portage Inc. (1350 E Wisconsin St, Portage, WI 53901) AND DIAGNOSED AS A BLIND SPOT ALERT SYSTEM FAILURE. THE DEALER CONFIRMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO THE TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE REPAIR WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,812. THE CONSUMER STATED THE REPAIRS WOULD COST $950, BUT THE CONSUMER FEEL AS THOUGH REPAIRS SHOULD BE PAID BY THE MANUFACTURER.
WHILE DRIVING, THE ABS LIGHT AND STABLILITRAK LIGHTS CAME ON AND THE STEERING BECAME HARDER THAN NORMAL. WARNINGS ON THE DASH ADVISED THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE STABILITRAK AND TO SERVICE THE POWER STEERING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED AT CARTER CHEVROLET, INC. (200 W DIXON BLVD, SHELBY, NC 28152) FOR A STARTER REPLACEMENT. AFTER GETTING THE VEHICLE BACK FROM THE DEALER, THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, WHEN SHE DETECTED A BURNING ODOR AND SAW FIRE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD ON THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT THEIR FAULT AND TO CONTACT HER INSURANCE COMPANY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET DIAGNOSED AND WAS STILL AT THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 116,981.
THE CAR ELECTRICAL GOES HAYWIRE. ALL THESE ALERTS AND POP UP COME ON ABS LIGHTS. STABILLATRAC. NO POWER STEERING. LOOKED UP ISSUE IT HAS SOMETHING WITH A BAD SENSOR IN BUMPER. VERY DANGEROUS
THE ISSUE STARTED OUT AS A WARNING FROM THE SIDE DETECTION SYSTEM. IN THE PAST WEEK, THE ISSUE ESCALATED TO ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH COMING ON, AND THEN ALL ELECTRONICS GOING DEAD/DARK. THE TURN SIGNAL INDICATORS HAVE NO LIGHTS AND NO SOUND, THE RADIO SYSTEM IS DEAD, THE SPEEDOMETER AND GAS GAUGE ARE DEAD. AFTER SITTING A FEW HOURS, IT SEEMED THAT THINGS "RESET" TO JUST THE SIDE DETECTION WARNING. MOST RECENTLY, ALL THE ELECTRONICS ARE ACTING STRANGE. PUSHING THE BUTTON ON THE DOOR HANDLE TO UNLOCK IT, DOES NOTHING TO THE DOOR LOCK, HOWEVER, THE DISPLAY SCREEN SHOWS "TIRE LEARNING ACTIVE". WHEN ATTEMPTING THE START THE CAR BY PUSHING THE START BUTTON, NOTHING HAPPENS. IF I PUT THE FOB IN THE SLOT INSIDE THE ARMREST, IT WILL EVENTUALLY START, BUT AGAIN ALL DISPLAY FUNCTIONS ARE DEAD AS IS THE ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROLS (NO BLOWER - NO DEFROST- NO GOOD ON A COLD RAINY DAY). AGAIN THE SIGNAL INDICATORS ARE DARK AND SILENT. THE INDICATOR LIGHT FOR THE AIRBAGS IS NOW ILLUMINATED AS WELL. GM HAD A SHORT LIVED (AND SEEMINGLY SECRET) EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THE SIDE DETECTION SYSTEM HAVE THIS EXACT ISSUE WHEN WATER GOT INTO THE SENSORS, BUT THAT EXPIRED NEARLY A YEAR AGO. AS THIS ISSUE MAKES THE CAR UNSAFE TO DRIVE, IT SEEMS THAT IT SHOULD BE A FULL RECALL TO ADDRESS THIS SAFETY CONCERN.
I was about 5 minutes from home when all of a sudden warning lights started flashing on the dash board ( photos provided) The vehicle became hard to steer and control. Thankfully it was pretty much a straight highway until I had to make a left and 2 right turn to get to my house. It was as I had to fight with the steering wheel. Thank God! I was so close to home!! I don't even want to think what could have happened if I was on the interstate or a highway with lots of curves. I parked the car in the garage and it haven't been moved since. I called GM repair shops but they want to charge an arm and a leg just to tow it to the repair shop and another charge just to look at it. I called the vehicle hotline and they couldn't help me because there is no recall on my vehicle. My car has been parked in my garage for over 6 months now because I can't drive it.
THE ABS LIGHT COMES ON. EVERYTHING ON DASHBOARD LIKE THE ARROWS GO TO ZERO AND DOESN'T MOVE. THE OXYGEN SENSOR IS NOT WORKING. AND SOME TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. ALSO THE CAR HAS PROBLE!S MOVING AT FIRST. THIS HAPPENS WHEN I AM DRIVING.
5TH CYLINDER MISFIRE CAUSED BY BROKEN VALVE. ALSO NOT SHIFTING RIGHT CAUSED BY TRANSMISSION SOLENOID
STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP POWER STEERING MESSAGE APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD
MY VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. I WAS SITTING AT A FAST FOOD DRIVE THRU. WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN, MY REAR WINDSHIELD CRACKED WITHOUT WARNING. THERE WAS NO BLUNT FORCE OR OBJECT THAT DIRECTLY HIT MY REAR WINDSHIELD. THE WHOLE REAR WINDSHIELD CRACKED AND I HEARD LOUD SOUND WHEN MY REAR WINDSHIELD CRACKED. I HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING TO MY WINDSHIELD OR MY VEHICLE FOR THE MATTER, FOR THIS TO HAPPEN. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP FOR ASSISTANCE ON THIS MATTER AND I WAS REFERRED TO G.M.C WHICH IS GENERAL MOTORS, AND I COULDN'T GET ANY ASSISTANCE, IN REGARDS TO MY VEHICLE BEING SAFE TO DRIVE. WHAT MAY HAVE CRACKED MY REAR WINDSHIELD IS UNKNOWN.
ISSUES WITH BLIND SPOT SYSTEM, SOMETIMES CAUSES ALL POWER ON DASH TO SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING, HAVE READ MANY MANY OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUES ONLINE. SOUNDS LIKE THE BLIND SPOT MONITOR MODULES ARE TRASH, BUT NOT RECALLED....
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE MADE A RATTLING SOUND WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL OCCASIONALLY WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CHEVROLET OF HOMEWOOD (18033 S HALSTED ST, HOMEWOOD, IL 60430) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE MECHANIC THAT NOTHING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT HAD THE ROTORS REPLACED ON THE VEHICLE HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MIKE ANDERSON CHEVROLET OF MERRILLVILLE (1550 E 61ST AVE, MERRILLVILLE, IN 46410) FOR A SECOND DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE A CAUSE FOR THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 74,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated while moving from being stopped at a traffic light, the vehicle shuddered and stalled while making a turn at an intersection. The contact stated that a message stating “Power Steering failure/Steer with Caution” was displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was restarted and driven back to the residence. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The vehicle was taken to an automotive store to be diagnosed; however, the mechanic was unable to retrieve a diagnostic trouble code. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 96,000.
IT WAS A RECALL ISSUED IN 2014 FOR STABILITRAK FOR BAD GROUNDS ON MY CHEVY IMPALA AND I WENT TO CHEVY ABOUT IT AND PAID FOR THE DIAGNOSTICS TO CHECK AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION THAT I NEEDED. ALSO, THE PAPER DOESN'T TELL ME I NEEDED A TRANSMISSION FIXED, SO I TOOK IT TO 3 DIFFERENT TRANSMISSION SHOPS AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE GROUND THAT WAS BAD. BUT I WAS NOT PAYING FOR IT AND IT WAS A RECALL ISSUED IN 2014 THAT IS HAPPENING AND IS HAPPENING TO SEVERAL OTHERS AS WELL. I CALLED THE GM AND ASKED IF ITS ANYTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT SINCE IT WAS UNDE RECALL THEY ARE SAYING NO. AND THE I HAVE TO GO PAY FOR DIAGNOSTICS AGAIN SO THEY CAN SEE WHAT IT IS BECAUSE IT MAY NOT BE SAME AND I DID BEFORE AND CHEVY SAID IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION AND THE OTHER SHOPS SAID THE TRANSMISSION IS IN GREAT SHAPE IT WAS THE GROUNDS THATS BAD AND THAT IF THE ISSUE WAS UNDER A RECALL IT SHOULD BE DONE AGAIN. I TAKE THIS AS SAFETY ISSUE AND IT PUTS ME AND MY FAMILY IN DANGER AND IT IS MY ONLY TRANSPORTATION . SO I HAVE MY SON PICKING ME FOR WORK.
THE COMPUTER WITH THE RADIO COMPONENT GOES OUT CAUSING ALL ALARMS, TURN SIGNALS, AND NOTIFICATIONS TO BE SILENT. ALSO ONSTAR AND ALL RADIO COMPONENTS ARE INOP. TEMPORARILY YOU CAN FIX THE ISSUE BY DISCONNECTING AND RECONNECTING THE BATTERY BUT IT WILL INEVITABLY HAVE TO BE REPROGRAMMED. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND IS LOCATED IN MANY FORUMS.
We have had several problems with the blind spot sensor on our 2014 Impala LTZ. Problems would always occur when driving in rain or snow. Dealer would just say that the sensor gets wet and that we should try to dry it off. Once the sensor was dry it would work ok. Now the sensor does not work at all. Took it off and it was full of corrosion. Reading online regarding reviews I find out that this is a very common problem with GM vehicles but GM refuses to do a recall. However they did do a special offer to replace the sensor if you have less than 80,000 miles. My car has 85,000 but I have dealt with this problem for several years. I replaced the sensor myself (at a cost of $400) and now they tell me it has to be reprogrammed. That really sucks. It is too bad that GM just can't accept the fact that they have a faulty product. I am currently waiting for a call back from the dealer to see what it cost to get sensors and wiring harness replaced (GM admits that there definitely was a problem and says you have to replace both sensors and the wiring harness). How in the world can this not be a recall!!!!!!!!!!!
FOR THE SECOND TIME SINCE PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE NEW, THE BLIND SPOT DETECTION SYSTEM IS FAILING. WHEN THIS SYSTEM FAILS IT SLOWLY TAKES OUT THE REST OF THE VEHICLES ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS, EVEN THOSE NOT RELATED TO ANY COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM. THE FIRST TIME I HAD IT REPAIRED IT WAS OUT OF THE ORIGINAL WARRANTY MEANING I HAD TO PAY THE APPROX. $1000 BILL. THE NEXT DAY ON START-UP DIC ALERTED TO ABS, POWERSTEERING, AND STABILITACK IN NEED OF SERVICE, NOTICEABLE DIFFERENCE IN STEERING CONTROL, WHEEL SLIPPAGE ON QUICK EXHILARATION, I TRIED TO BRAKE MORE CAUTIOUSLY SO AS NOT TO TEST MY BRAKING ABILITY.
