TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING SHAFT WAS WORN AND THE JOINTS WERE CORRODED. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT WHEN MAKING TURNS AT LOW SPEEDS, AN ABNORMAL NOISE WAS HEARD FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO STATED THAT THE STEERING SHAFT WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000.
DRIVERS SEAT, THE WELD HAS BROKEN AND NOW THE SEAT SITS TO THE RIGHT AND MOVES WITH ANY BUMP OR TURN. VERY UNSAFE. *TR

CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO POWER STEERING MOTOR FAILURE. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE DRIVING, THE POWER STEERING MOTOR FAILED, AND HE LOST THE ABILITY TO STEER THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP, WHERE THE STEERING MOTOR WAS REPLACED AT A COST OF $ 693.00.
DRIVER POWER SEAT/ BROKEN WELD ON METAL STABILIZER BAR ACROSS THE LOWER FRONT OF THE SEAT. CAUSES THE SEAT TO BE UNSTABLE AND SHIFT WHEN BRAKING OR ACCELLERATING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET MALIBU MAXX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH AND ATTEMPTING A TURN, THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILED. THE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED AND THE POWER STEERING WARNING CHIME SOUNDED. THE CONTACT SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, BUT THE FAILURE WAS STILL PRESENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING MODULE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD PREVIOUSLY ISSUED A RECALL SATISFACTION CAMPAIGN FOR THE POWER STEERING MODULE BUT THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR REPAIRS UNDER THE CAMPAIGN BECAUSE THE CUMULATIVE MILEAGE HAD EXCEEDED 150,000. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.
WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PASS ANOTHER VEHICLE BY ACCELERATING ON A SLIGHT CURVE AND PULLING AN INCLINE, THE 2005 CHEVY MALIBU WOULD NOT PROPERLY STEER. WHEN REALIZING THAT THE STEERING WAS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY, DECREASED ACCELERATION AND THEN WAS ABLE TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE STEERING. THIS HAS OCCURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS AND NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT EACH TIME. GM HAS BEEN NOTIFIED ABOUT THE SAFETY CONCERN AND THEY HAVE SET UP AN APPOINTMENT WITH A LOCAL GM DEALER TO DIAGNOSIS THE PROBLEM. THEY HAVE INDICATED A POSSIBLE PROBLEM WITH THE ELECTRIC STEERING IN THE 2005 CHEVY MALIBU BASED ON THE VIN. I MAY BE CHARGED DIAGNOSTIC FEES AND REPAIR COSTS IF THE STEERING ISSUE IS NOT IN LINE WITH THEIR "SPECIAL LETTER" REGARDING POSSIBLE FAILURE OF THE ELECTRIC STEERING COMPONENTS. I HAVE READ THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AMONG THIS YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL OF VEHICLE. I HAVE ALSO READ THAT CANADA HAS RECENTLY ISSUED A RECALL ON THIS SAME YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL OF VEHICLE FOR STEERING RELATED SAFETY CONCERNS. I FEEL THAT THIS RECALL FOR THE STEERING COMPONENTS SHOULD ALSO APPLY TO CARS IN THE US IF THEY ARE EXPERIENCING SIMILAR SAFETY CONCERNS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SOUTHERN CHEVROLET (5845 COLISEUM BLVD, ALEXANDRIA, LA), BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. WAS TRAVELING APP. 35 MI PER HR AND WENT TO MAKE A TURN AND LOST THE POWER STEERING AND WAS ALMOST HIT BY ANOTHER CAR. I HAVE LOST THE ABILITY TO STEER PROPERLY SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE LAST YEAR THE WORST BEING WHEN THIS HAPPENS AND I AM ON THE INTERSTATE. THIS RECALL HAPPENED IN MAY OF 2014 AND NOW IT IS JULY AND THE DEALER IS SAYING THEY STILL DON'T HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX THE PROBLEM. ARE THEY WAITING TILL OUR CARS ARE TO OLD FOR THEM TO BE FIXED UNDER THE RECALL? I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY NOTICE FROM GENERAL MOTORS. *TR

THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS SERVICED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V153000 (STEERING), NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V224000 (POWER TRAIN), AND NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V252000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL, EXTERIOR LIGHTING, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL). SHORTLY AFTER THE REPAIR, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING, THE POWER STEERING FAILED, A CLUNKING NOISE WAS HEARD IN THE FRONT END, AND THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY VEERED TO THE LEFT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE RECALL REPAIR COULD NOT BE PERFORMED AGAIN. IN ADDITION, THE DEALER STATED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN AND SUSPENSION WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. IN PREVIOUS YEARS, THE CONTACT HAD TO REPLACE THE GEAR BOX AND RACK AND PINION NUT ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS AT A DEALER. THE CONTACT INFORMED THE MANUFACTURER OF ALL THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
AUGUST 1, 2013, WAS DRIVING OFF THE PARKING LOT AT WORK WHEN POWER STEERING WENT OUT. IT CAME BACK AFTER THREE DAYS BUT ON AUGUST 23, 2013, IT WENT OUT COMPLETELY. WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, DOING 65 MPH AND COMPLETELY LOST STEERING CAPACITY. POWER STEERING LIGHT CAME ON AND BEEPED TWICE. THIS WAS VERY SCARY UNTIL I REMEMBERED I WOULD STILL HAVE MANUAL STEERING. IMMEDIATELY GOT OFF AT THE NEAREST EXIT. TOOK TO GET REPAIRED AT DEALERSHIP BECAUSE OF RECALL RELATED TO POWER STEERING. PART COVERED UNDER THE RECALL DOES NOT AND DID NOT FIX POWER STEERING OF VEHICLE. AN ADDITIONAL $700 NEEDED IN ORDER TO FIX THE POWER STEERING MODULE, WHICH HOUSES SENSORS. THIS MODULE, I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER, IS WHAT IS NEEDED IN ORDER TO COMPLETELY REPAIR VEHICLE. WHY CAN GM NOT REPAIR THE ENTIRE STEERING COMPONENT WHEN, APPARENTLY, THE MODULE IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE AND MOST COMMON PART ON THESE VEHICLES THAT MALFUNCTIONS (IF THE BLOGS ARE TO BE BELIEVED), NOT DUE TO ABUSE/MISUSE BY OWNERS BUT DUE TO MANUFACTURING DEFECT(S). *TT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET MALIBU MAXX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL EMITTED A CLUCKING NOISE WHILE MAKING A TURN. THE DEALER PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WHICH LOCATED THE FAILURE IN THE STEERING WHEEL DRIVE SHAFT AND COLUMN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76, 000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE 78,000.

TL* THE CONTACT 2005 CHEVROLET MALIBU MAXX. THE CONTACT STATED THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING MODULE WAS REPAIRED UNDER THE MANUFACTURER'S EXTENDED WARRANTY, BUT THE FAILURE OCCURRED ONE YEAR LATER. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AT THE TIME OF THE ORIGINAL REPAIR WAS 122,000. THE CURRENT FAILURE MILEAGE MILEAGE WAS 151,000.
WHILE PASSING ON THE INTERSTATE THE POWER STEERING FAILED FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. THERE WAS AN AUDIBLE ALERT THEN THE STEERING FAILED. SEVERAL OTHER TIMES WHILE TURNING AT LOW SPEEDS AND ACCELERATING THE STEERING FAILS FOR ONLY A BRIEF TIME, BUT PULLS EXTREMELY HARD IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION THAT I AM TURNING. *TR
THE DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT ORANGE GLASS IN SIDE OF HEAD LAMP IT HAS A HOLE MELTED THE TOP OF THE ORANGE LENS. HAS A HOLE ON TOP WHAT CAN YOU DO TO FIX THAT PROBLEM, IT'S SEAMS TO BE ONLY ON THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE CAR. IT'S ON A 2005 MALIBU MAXX. CAN YOU REPLACE IT UNDER A FACTORY WARRANTY FOR US THANKS. THAT'S HAS TO BE A DEFECTIVE PART ON THEM CARS PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR ME THANKS AGAIN. *TR
INTERMITTENT BRAKE LIGHTS; GO ON WHEN NOT BRAKING; ALSO CRUISE CONTROL INTERMITTENT I UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MAKE/MODEL. SUGGEST RECALL AS THIS PROBLEM HAS MADE THE PRESS. *TR
WAS TOLD BY A DRIVER WHO HAD BEEN BEHIND ME COMING UP TO A TRAFFIC LIGHT THAT MY BRAKE LIGHTS WERE NOT WORKING. SHE SAID IT LOOKED AS THOUGH THEY WERE ON WHILE I WAS ACCELERATING AND WENT OFF WHEN I WAS STOPPING. I HAVE REPLACED THE BRAKE LIGHT DIAGNOSTIC RESISTOR AND IT HASN'T DONE ANYTHING. I ALSO HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH GETTING THE CAR OUT OF PARK AND WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL REFUSING TO ENGAGE OR DISENGAGING ITSELF. I UNDERSTAND NOW THAT THESE ARE REOCCURRING PROBLEMS FOR THIS CAR AND IT HAS SOMETHING TO WITH TERMINAL FRETTING CORROSION IN THE BODY CONTROL MODULE BUT THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM. WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR LESS THAN A YEAR AGO, THERE WAS NO MENTION OF THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW LONG THE BRAKE LIGHT PROBLEM HAS EXISTED SINCE NO ONE HAS TOLD ME ABOUT IT BEFORE THIS BUT THE CRUISE CONTROL ACTED FUNNY EVEN WHEN I WAS TEST DRIVING THE VEHICLE BEFORE PURCHASE. I MENTIONED IT TO THE SALESPERSON AND HE SAID THEY WOULD CHECK IT OUT. IT WORKED THE NEXT TIME I TEST DROVE IT BUT HAS FREQUENTLY NOT WORKED AFTER I ACTUALLY BOUGHT IT. GETTING THE CAR OUT OF PARK HAS BEEN A PROBLEM ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS SINCE I BOUGHT IT.
YOU CAN SMELL FUEL WHEN YOU ARE BY THE CAR. AT THIS TIME IT TAKES 2 TO 3 CRANKS FOR THE CAR TO START. I'M TOLD THAT THERE IS A LEAK ON THE TOP OF THE FUEL TANK SOMEWHERE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2005 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE LOW BEAM HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY FAILED TO WORK. THE CONTACT APPLIED THE BRAKE PEDAL, WHICH DID NOT RESPOND AND EXTENDED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SPUN AROUND AND CRASHED INTO A GUARDRAIL. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO CONFIRM IF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT WAS UNCONSCIOUS AND WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED HEAD INJURIES, BROKEN WRISTS, A PUNCTURED AND COLLAPSED LUNG, AND ADDITIONAL INTERNAL INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL TREATMENT. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT HIS TEETH WERE FRACTURED FROM HIS MOUTH DUE TO THE IMPACT OF THE CRASH. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT ALSO RECEIVED SEVERAL RECALL NOTIFICATIONS PERTAINING TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 14V252000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL, EXTERIOR LIGHTING, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL), 14V153000 (STEERING), AND 14V224000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TWO WELDS HOLDING THE CONSOLE SIDE OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT TO THE BODY OF THE CAR SNAPPED, CAUSING THE SEAT TO SIT CROOKED (LOWER ON THE INSIDE), PIVOT BACKWARD DURING ACCELERATION, AND FORWARD WHEN BREAKING. IF IT WERE EVER IN A COLLISION, THE ADDITIONAL STRESS PLACED ON THE DOOR SIDE WELDS WILL LIKELY RESULT IN THE ENTIRE SEAT COMING FREE. (EVEN IN THE ABSENCE OF A COLLISION, THE SEAT MAY COME FREE BASED ON THE STRESS OF CONSTANT PIVOTING DURING NORMAL USE.) FOR THE RECORD, TO MY KNOWLEDGE THE CAR HAS NEVER BEEN INVOLVED IN ANY COLLISIONS OR OTHER SITUATION THAT MIGHT HAVE PLACED ABNORMAL STRESS ON THESE WELDS. *TR
LIKE THE CURRENT GM COBALT PROBLEMS, CAR STALLED WHILE TRAVELING ON INTERSTATE. LUCKILY WE WERE ABLE TO PULL TO SIDE OF THE ROAD AND GET TOWED. IT WAS IN THE GARAGE FOR A WEEK AND THEY COULD NOT FIND PROBLEM EVEN WITH DRIVING IT 50 MILES A DAY. LOCAL DEALER SAID THEY HAD NOT HAD PROBLEMS, BUT I COULD BRING IT IN. LOTS OF COMPLAINTS ON INTERNET ABOUT THIS, BUT NO SERVICE BULLETINS OR RECALLS. CAR HAS 35K MILES ON IT, BUT MY WIFE WILL NO LONGER DRIVE IT. *TR
THIS 2005 MALIBU MAXX LT IS EQUIPPED WITH A 6-WAY POWER DRIVER'S FRONT SEAT. SOMETHING HAS BROKEN THAT ALLOWS THE SEAT TO SLIDE FORWARD SLIGHTLY DURING BRAKING AND SLIDE BACK DURING ACCELERATION. I HAVE READ THE VARIOUS OWNER'S COMPLAINTS REGARDING BROKEN MALIBU SEAT FRAMES AND I FEEL THAT THIS MANUFACTURING DEFECT SHOULD BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED BY CHEVROLET. THIS VEHICLE HAS ONLY 56,000 MILES AND IS DRIVEN BY MY WIFE WHO WEIGHS ONLY 122 POUNDS. IT HAS BEEN A GARAGE KEPT CAR ALL ITS LIFE AND IS EXCEPTIONALLY CLEAN. THERE IS NO REASON FOR THIS SEAT TO HAVE FAILED OTHER THAN POOR CONSTRUCTION. AS WITH MANY COMPLAINTS, THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE! THIS SEAT HAS NOT BEEN FIXED YET. *JS
I NOTICED THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT "SWAYED" TO THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE WHEN SITTING DOWN IN THE VEHICLE. AFTER REMOVING THE SEAT FOR INSPECTION, THE WELD CONNECTING THE SUPPORT TUBE INSIDE THE SEAT COMPLETELY SEPARATED FROM ITS WELD JOINT. NO PREVIOUS ACCIDENTS OCCURRED WITH THIS VEHICLE. LOCAL SERVICE CENTER STATED THIS WELD WOULD BE DIFFICULT TO FIX BY REWELDING AND SUGGESTED FINDING A AUTOSALVAGE SEAT TO REPLACE IT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING 50 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AS THE VEHICLE BECAME UNRESPONSIVE TO ACCELERATION ATTEMPTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD ENGAGED INTO LIMP MODE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE SECOND AND THIRD SHIFT CYLINDERS HAD ALSO FAILED, INDICATING THAT THE TRANSMISSION WOULD REQUIRE REPLACING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. I PURCHASED A USED CHEVY 2005 MALIBU MAXX FROM EAST HILLS CHEVROLET. I HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE STEERING IN 08' THEY REPLACED OR REPAIRED THE STEERING GEARS. 5 YEARS LATER AND 30,000 MILES (LOCAL) I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM THAT WAS SITED IN A BULLETIN WITH MY VIN NUMBER HOWEVER, GM, NOR THE DEALER WILL REPAIR IT FOR ME. THE COST $1,100.00 OF WHICH I DO NOT HAVE AT THE PRESENT MOMENT. WHAT DO I DO DRIVE A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS CAR??? I AM GETTING NO HELP FROM GM AND AM PREPARED TO TAKE MY CAR BACK AND SELL IT AND BUY ANYTHING BUT A CHEVY AS THE WHOLE LINE IS PLAGUED WITH THIS PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 95,000. *TR

I WAS TOLD BY THE OLD OWNER THAT IT BROKE A YEAR AFTER BUYING THE CAR AND THE DEALER WANTED WAY TO MUCH TO REPLACE IT? IF IT'S A MATTER OF SAFETY SHOULD THEY NOT FIX IT FOR FREE? SHOULD THEIR NOT BE A RECALL ON IT? AGAIN AFTER LOOKING AROUND ON THE WEB AND ASKING AROUND TO MANY DEALER SHOPS IT IS A VERY KNOWN ISSUE THAT CHEVY HAS NOT EVER ADDRESSED. THE DRIVERS SEAT HAS BROKEN WHEN SIMPLY SITTING DOWN IN THE VEHICLE AND CAN ONLY BE SAFELY USED IN IT'S LOWEST POSITION. IF YOU TRY TO RAISE THE POWER SEAT, IT TILTS TO THE EXTREME RIGHT, AND ONLY THE LEFT SIDE OF THE SEAT LIFTS. THE CAR IS VERY DIFFICULT TO DRIVE WHILE SITTING ON SUCH AN EXTREME SLANT, AND ALSO HARD TO SEE WHEN SITTING IN THE LOWEST POSITION, UNLESS YOU ARE QUITE TALL. OVERALL, THE SEAT IS NOW VERY WOBBLY AND UNSTABLE IF YOU SHIFT YOUR WEIGHT IN THE SEAT NOT THAT IT HAS BROKEN. I DON'T RECALL AT WHAT MILEAGE THIS HAPPENED - BUT I WAS GETTING INTO THE CAR IN MY DRIVEWAY AND HEARD A LOUD POP OF SOMETHING BREAKING LOOSE, AND THE SEAT FELL TO THE SIDE. I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE DOWN I-680 IN NORTHERN CA'S BAY AREA. WHILE I WAS ON THE FREEWAY IN THE SLOW LANE AND MY POWER STEERING WARNING POPPED UP ON MY CAR STEREO DISPLAY AND A SPLIT SECOND LATER I LOST THE ABILITY TO STEER MY CAR. I SLOWED THE VEHICLE AS FAST AS I COULD WITHOUT SLAMMING ON THE BRAKES. ALL OF THE CARS BEHIND ME SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES AND I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO CAUSE A PILE-UP. A NICE MAN BEHIND GOT OUT OF HIS TRUCK AND HELPED ME FORCE THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE RIGHT SO I COULD PULL THE CAR OFF OF THE ROAD. I THEN CALLED MY BROTHER AND HE CAME AND TOWED THE CAR HOME. WITH SO MANY VEHICLES EXPERIENCING THE SAME MALFUNCTION IN THE FRAME IT WOULD APPEAR THAT A MANUFACTURING DEFECT EXISTS WITH THIS SEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 199,000.
MY POWER STEERING HAS GONE COMPLETELY OUT. I HAVE MADE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS TO GM REGARDING THIS MATTER. GM HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THE PROBLEM AND HAS SENT OUT LETTERS ADVISING CUSTOMERS WITH VINS 5F10001-5F250216 (TECHNICAL BULLETIN #07126) OF SPECIAL COVERAGE. GM HAS ALSO SENT ME A LETTER ADVISING ME THEY WILL FIX THE PROBLEM IF MY VEHICLE IS 10YR OR 160K. MY PROBLEM DIDN'T EXIST AT THAT TIME. I NOW HAVE 212K MILES. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALER ([XXX]) AND WAS DENIED COVERAGE. ESTIMATED COST WAS $900 FOR REPAIRS. GM KNEW YEARS AGO THAT THEY HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE POWER STEERING, AND IT WAS A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THE STEERING WAS TO STOP WORKING. REGARDLESS OF THE MILES.
