TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, TURNED IT OFF, AND RESTARTED IT, AND THE VEHICLE PERFORMED NORMALLY. WHILE DRIVING HOME, THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AGAIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE DEALER (UFTRING WESTON CHEVROLET, 1600 WEST WAR MEMORIAL DRIVE, PEORIA, IL 61614) STATED THAT DUE TO THE RECALL REPAIR BEING PREVIOUSLY PERFORMED, THERE WOULD BE AN OUT OF POCKET COST FOR THE REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 135,071. *TT *TR
I WAS DRIVING AND A WARNING SIGNAL SOUND CAME ON AND THE "POWER STEERING" MESSAGE APPEARS ON THE SCREEN THEN THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT. I WAS ON ON ON THE HIGHWAY SO THAT WAS THE SCARY PART. I STARTED TO GO HOME BECAUSE I KNEW IT WAS NOT SAFE. THE CAR WOULD SHAKE AND MAKE NOISES WHILE I WAS STOPPED AT A STOPLIGHT AND THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD JERK AND MOVE AND CONTINUE TO RATTLE. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND TURNED THE CAR OFF. I STARTED IT BACK UP AND IT WAS OKAY. I STARTED TO DRIVE AND AGAIN THE SIGNAL SOUND AND THE POWER STEERING MESSAGE CAME ON AND IT WENT OUT WHILE I WAS TURNING WHICH WAS A SCARY MOMENT BECAUSE AN ACCIDENT WOULD'VE HAPPENED HAD ANOTHER CAR BEEN IN THE WAY. IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO DRIVE AND I WAS WORRIED ABOUT AN ACCIDENT HAPPENING. I WAS TOLD TO TAKE IT TO THE SHOP AND DID SO. WAS TOLD IT WAS PROBABLY A SENSOR. I LOOKED UP RECALLS AND THAT WAS A RECALL ON MY CAR. I CALLED THE GM/CHEVY CONSUMER LINE AND THEY RECOMMENDED IT TAKE IT TO MY LOCAL CHEVY DEALER AND STATED THE RECALL HAD BEEN FIXED. LOCAL CHEVY DEALER CALLS TO TELL ME THAT THERE IS A "BULLETIN" AND THE STEERING COLUMN NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $1,100. THE STEERING COLUMN IS LISTED ON THE PREVIOUS RECALL BUT THEY ONLY REPLACED A SENSOR. I WAS TOLD I HAD TO PAY TO HAVE IT FIXED. I FIND IT VERY DISTURBING THAT MILLIONS OF CARS HAVE THIS ISSUE AND NOTHING IS BEING PUT OUT TO FIX THE PROBLEM. IT IS DANGEROUS.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER INDICATED THAT AN UNKNOWN EPS RECALL REMEDY WAS PERFORMED BY AN UNKNOWN DEALER BEFORE THE CONTACT OWNED THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL MADE AN ABNORMAL NOISE AND WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO TURN IN EITHER DIRECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BY A DEALER, BUT WAS INSPECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED NO SOLUTION OTHER THAN STATING THAT A RECALL HAD BEEN PERFORMED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

REVERSE IS NOT ENGAGING.
TAKATA RECALL ENGINE OIL KEEPS DISAPPEARING EVERY WEEK ! THERE ARE NO LEAKS ! THERE IS NO OIL IN THE WATER THAT I CAN SEE !
MY STEERING WHEEL IS HARD TO TURN AT STARTUP, LIKE IT IS MANUAL OR METAL ON METAL FEEL LIKE THERE IS NO LUBRICATION. IT IS SURELY NOT SAFE TO EVEN BACK OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY LET ALONE DRIVE IT. I LOOKED TO SEE IF THERE WAS NO STEERING FLUID BUT LEARNED THERE IS NO SUCH THING ON THIS MAKE/MODEL BUT THAT IT USES ELECTRICAL STEERING ASSIST INSTEAD. I HAVE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ON THE WEB REGARDING STEERING ASSIST ON THIS MODEL AND I KNOW MY LOCAL DEALER TOLD ME THERE WAS A RECALL AND HAD WORKED ON THE STEERING AND REPLACED SOMETHING THERE AT SOME POINT BECAUSE OF THE RECALL YET MY VIN SEARCH SHOW NOTHING ON THIS SITE. IT DOESN'T EVEN SHOW PAST RECALL WORK!
VEHICLE LOOSES STEERING AT LOW SPEEDS. PREVIOUSLY HAD A EXTENDED SERVICE CAMPAIGN THAT THEY NEVER HAD PARTS FOR. EXPIRED NOW BUT A RECALL ON OTHER SAME MAKE AND MODEL OF THE SAME YEAR. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS REEXAMINED. CALLED GM AND THEY ARE NOT CONCERNED ABOUT LOSS OF STEERING. WAS DRIVING AND HAD TO MAKE A TURN AT 5 MPH LOST POWER STEERING AND SIGNAL CHIMED. WAS UNABLE TO COMPLETE TURN ALMOST CAUSED ACCIDENT ON CITY STREET.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME INOPERABLE. ALSO, THE AIR BAG AND CHECK ENGINE INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 175,000.
THE CAR WAS UNDER RECALL FOR A COUPLE ISSUES WHICH THEY FIXED EXCEPT FOR THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING TORQE SENSOR, THEY INSTALLED THE PART BUT SAID THEY COULD NOT PROGRAM THE PART DUE TO ANOTHER PROBLEM. SO I COULDNT AFFORD FOR THEM TO DIAGNOSE IT PLUS PAY TO FIX IT SO I CHECKED IT OUT AND DISCOVERED THAT JUST A FUSE HAD BLOWN. I REPLACED IT AND HEADED BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, DROPPED CAR OFF AND THEN WAS CONTACTED HOURS LATER SAYING THAT THEY WERE NOT GOING TO FINISH PROGRAMMING THE RECALL BECAUSE THEY ALREADY TRIED ONCE AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY NOW? IN MY MIND A RECALL IS A RECALL TILL IT IS FIXED! THE VEHICLE IS STILL UNSAFE AND I FEEL THEY SHOULD STILL BE RESPONSIBLE!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE STEERING WHEEL MOVED INDEPENDENTLY TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT. LUCKY'S CHEVROLET IN MCGEE, ARKANSAS WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REQUESTED THAT THE VEHICLE BE BROUGHT IN FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 24,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED TROUBLE SHIFTING IN THE INTENDED GEAR. THE FAILURE OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY THREE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD ALREADY BEEN REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V224000 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 8-394-3260477. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ED MORSE SAWGRASS BUICK GMC (14351 W SUNRISE BLVD, SUNRISE, FL) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SHIFT CABLE ASSEMBLY WAS DEFECTIVE AND WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 105,000.
I'M STATIONARY POSITION MY STEERING WHEEL AUTOMATICALLY TURNS 90 DEGREES TO THE RIGHT AND VIBRATES BACK AND FORTH. IF I TURN IT TO THE LEFT AND LET GO, IT AUTOMATICALLY TURNS RIGHT. WHEN I'M DRIVING, IT DOES THE SAME THING BUT NOT AS BAD. IF I LET GO OF THE STEERING WHEEL WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY IT WILL TURN RIGHT THEN TURN STRAIGHT ALMOST LIKE A ZIGZAG PATTERN. EVENTUALLY POWER STEERING WILL GO OUT AND I HAVE TO PULL OVER, SHUT MY CAR OFF AND START IT BACK UP TO REATTAIN POWER STEERING . I CONTACTED CHEVY CUSTOMER CARE AND THEY SAID THEY CAN'T FIX THE RECALLED PROBLEM BECAUSE THE SERVICE WAS ALREADY PERFORMED EARLIER IN THE CAR. (FIGURED THEY WOULD HAVE A WARRANTY ON THEIR OWN PART)THEY REFUSED TO HELP WITH ANY CASH ASSISTANCE AND DUE TO HAVING 200K MILES ON IT THEY WILL NOT FIX IT IN ANY WAY. IT'S A KNOWN ISSUE IN MY YEAR OF CAR.
IGNITION STAYING STUCK ALOWING STARTER TO CONTINUE TO TURN, DAY TIME NO BREAK LIGHTS , NIGHT TIME BREAK LIGHTS STAY LIT UP OR FLASH ON AND OFF , FUEL GAUGE DROPS TO EMPTY EVEN WHEN FULL BOUNCES BACK AND FORTH EMPTY FULL , SERVICE AIR BAG AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS KEEP COMING ON EVEN AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN RESET, CRUISE CONTROL WILL NOT ENGAGE , HARD TIME TO TAKE CAR OUT OF PARK EVEN WITH BRAKE DEPRESSED, LOWER GEARS ON TRANSMISSION WILL NOT ENGAGE INTO 3,2,1 SPEED, DRIVER SEAT BRACKET BROKE IN WELD CAUSING SEAT TO BE UNSTABLE, FAULTY IGNITION SWITCH AND MORE THIS CAR HAS LESS THAN 150 K ON IT 148 AND SOME CHANGE,,, AIR BAG SERVICE LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON AS WELL AS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, THIS CAR WILL NOT PASS ANY STATE INSPECTION , AND EVEN STATES WITH OUT INSPECTION WOULD ADVISE THAT THE CAR BE RECALLED
CALLED CHEVY MULTIPLE TIMES. WENT IN FOR TO HAVE PART REPLCAEMENT RECALL, ALWAYS GET AN ANSWER OF PART IS NOT AVAILABLE..
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET MALIBU CLASSIC. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH AND TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE LEFT, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO TURN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL HAD TO BE TURNED SEVERAL TIMES IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO TURN. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. WHILE DRIVING TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, THE POWER STEERING COMPLETELY FAILED. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DISCOVERED THAT THE RACK AND PINION WAS RUSTED AND DETACHED FROM THE FRAME. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRAME WAS REPLACED BY THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 153,000. *TT UPDATED 9/12/18*JB
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ON THE FREEWAY AND I ACCELERATED TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC I SLIGHTLY TURNED THE WHEEL TO THE LEFT AND IT WENT TO THE RIGHT AND THE FASTER I TRIED TO GO IT WAS GOING ALL OVER THE ROAD FROM LEFT TO RIGHT.I DIDNT HAVE MUCH CONTROL SO I DECIDED TO GET OFF THE FREEWAY AND GO BACK HOME.

AFTER LETTING OFF THE GAS AND THE STEERING COMES BACK IN THE VEHICLE IS ONCE AGAIN CONTROL. BUT UNTIL THEN IT WILL PULL YOU DIRECTLY INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FLEMINGTON BUICK GMC CADILLAC AT (908) 751-4316 (211 US-202, FLEMINGTON, NJ 08822) WHERE NO DIAGNOSTIC FAILURE CODES WERE FOUND AND THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND O2 SENSORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 246,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ONE MORNING 8/10/17 7:30AM . I STARTED TO SMELL SMOKE FROM THE STEERING WHEEL THEN I SEEN ON THE RADIO SERVICE AIR BAG I RUSHED HOME BUT BEFORE I GOT HOME MY AIR BAG DEPLOYED INCHES AWAY FROM MY CHEST . I MADE IT HOME SAFE I AM JUST AM STILL DAZED AT THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO TURN OUT OF A PARKING SPOT, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JIM TAYLOR CHEVROLET (139 GRIMSHAW ST, RAYVILLE, LA 71269) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND TRANSFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 161,900.
AS I WAS DRIVING UP THE HIGHWAY AT AROUND 50 MPH, WITH MY THREE KIDS INSIDE, MY 2005 MALIBU LS JUST DECIDES TO START LOSING SPEED (I USED HAZARD LIGHTS) AND JUST GRADUALLY STOPS!! A NEIGHBOR HELPED ME GET MY CAR DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND TO OUR APARTMENTS. I TRIED ABOUT TWENTY MINUTES LATER TO START MY CAR .IT COULD NOT HAVE BEEN THE BATTERY OR THE FUEL PUMP BECAUSE ALL THE ELECTRICAL LIGHTS IN THE CAR STILL CAME ON AND THE GAS NEEDLE MOVED WHEN MY KEY WAS TURNED TO THE ON POSITION. HOWEVER MY CAR DID NOT EVEN CRANK. IT STILL DOESN'T WANT TO START. I LIVE OUTSIDE OF CITY LIMITS AND I OWN MY CAR BUT THIS RANDOM INCIDENT CAN CAUSE ME TO LOSE MY JOB AND APARTMENT. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE LESS THAN A YEAR AGO AND HAD NO PRIOR PROBLEMS. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED ALONG WITH MY KIDS THIS IS VERY UNSAFE. THERE IS RECALL #11E009000 NOT SURE IF IT IS WHY THIS CAR ALMOST KILLED US BUT GM DEFINITELY OWES AN EXPLANATION FOR THESE FAULTY KILLER CARS ON THE ROAD.

I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE BREAKS ON MY CAR SIX TIMES IN TWO YEARS. I REPLACED EVERYTHING I CAN THINK OF AND THE BRAKES ARE WEARING OUT ONLY ON THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED ONE OTHER TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. MAY BE FUEL PUMP. CAR WILL TURN OVER BUT WON'T START.
THESE ARE THE PHOTOS TAKE OF THE FUEL PUMP AFTER IT WAS REMOVED BY MATHIS AUTO SERVICE (SEE THE ATTACHED INVOICE). AS YOU CAN SEE THE TAG HAS ONLY A SMALL PART OF A BAR CODE, I DIDN'T KNOW WHETHER OR NOT THIS WAS THE PART NUMBER OR NOT, BUT IT SEEM THERE WAS NO NUMBER. THE TOP OF THE PUMP WAS VERY DIRTY AND WET FROM GASOLINE. I HAD THE FUEL PUMP REPLACE AFTER I WAS TRANSPORTING A CLIENT AND THE CAR STARTED SPUTTERING AND LOST POWER FROM 45-MILES-PER HOUR TO ABOUT 10-MILES PER HOUR, BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO TURN INTO A PARKING LOT. THIS SCARED THE CLIENT AND LEAD THEM TO REPORT TO LYFT ABOUT THE INCIDENT. I ALSO REPORTED THE ISSUE TO LYFT RIDE SHARE AND THEY SHUT DOWN MY VEHICLE FOR SAFETY REASONS BY DEACTIVATING MY ACCOUNT. SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP TO COMPLETE 4 RECALLS, WHICH DID NOT CLEAR UP THE PROBLEM. OR CORRECT THE FUEL PUMP FROM SEIZING UP AND STALLING OUT. I PAID FOR THE REPLACEMENT PART OF A NEW FUEL PUMP AND EVERYTHING HAS BEEN WORKING PROPERLY. AND MY ACCOUNT HAS BEEN REACTIVATED WITH LYFT. I SPOKE TO TI AUTOMOTIVE CEO, ABOUT THEIR RECALL ON THEIR FUEL PUMP SEIZE, STOPPING THE FUEL FLOW TO THE ENGINE CREATING A STALLING CONDITION. I WAS TOLD THESE ISSUE WAS ONLY IN 2010 MODELS AND THEY WILL NOT REPAIR OR ACKNOWLEDGE THE DEFECTS IN EARLIER MODELS OF CHEVY MALIBU. BUT THERE ARE ISSUES WITH OTHER YEARS MODELS STALLING OUT IN TRAFFIC.
GAS GAUGE READS INCORRECTLY AND BOUNCES ERRATICALLY FROM FULL TO EMPTY AND BACK AGAIN TURNING ON THE CHECK-ENGINE LIGHT AND SETTING OFF THE AUDIBLE LOW FUEL WARNING. THIS HAPPENS HAVE EVERY FILL-UP. IN BETWEEN FILL-UPS, GAS GAUGE "STICKS": TO SOME ARBITRARY INTERMEDIATE VALUE. IT NEVER DISPLAYS ACCURATE FUEL-REMAINING. I MUST USED THE ODOMETER MILEAGE TO KNOW WHEN TO GET GAS. THIS ERRATIC BEHAVIOR OCCURS WHEN VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT.

HEADLIGHTS AND FRONT BLINKERS QUIT WORKING. WHEN I WENT TO CHANGE THENERGY-SAVING LIGHTS THE CONNECTORS WERE MELTED AND WIRES WERE EXPOSED. THE ORANGE LENSE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE HAS MELTED AND IS DISCONNECTED FROM THE FIXTURE AND IS LYING INSIDE THE LIGHT INCLOSURE. THE LIGHTS AND BLINKERS QUIT WORKING AS I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE. I CANNOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE AT NIGHT BECAUSE I AM AFRAID TO HAVE THE LIGHTS ON FOR FEAR OF POSSIBLE FIRST HAZARD. THE CRUISE CONTROL STOPPED WORKING AROUND THE END 2016

THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES BY ITSELF EVEN WHEN PARKED AND IDLING. WHEN STARTING THE CAR UP THE ALARM COMES ON (DING,DING,DING) AND THE POWER STEERING IS NO LONGER. I HAVE TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND RESTART IT. THIS HAS GOTTEN WORSE AND AM HAVING A MECHANIC LOOK AT IT BUT IN MY EYES THIS IS A MANUFACTURER ISSUE BASED OFF OF THE RESEARCH I'VE GATHERED ONLINE. MOST MECHANICS I BROUGHT IT TO NEVER HAVE SEEN THIS PROBLEM BEFORE.

HEADLIGHTS AND TAIL LIGHTS ARE NOT WORKING THEY GO OUT ONCE A MONTH AND NOW THEY JUST OUT AND THIS CAR IS DEFIANTLY UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE LOCKS GO UP AND DOWN WHILE DRIVING, AND AUTO LOCK IF LEFT RUNNING. GAS FUMES THROUGH OUT THE CAR. THESE ARE VERY SERIOUS PROBLEMS, ALSO I HAVE TWO TODDLERS THAT ARE FORCED TO RIDE IN THIS DEATH TRAP!!

I WAS PARKING MY VEHICLE. I HAD PUT THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE TO BACK UP AND THE GEARS JUST STARTED TO SLIDE UP AND DOWN. THE GEARS WOULD NOT CATCH AT ALL, THEY JUST STARTED SLIDING. IT STAYED IN REVERSE. THE CAR WOULD NOT STOP MOVING BACKWARD, SO I HAD TO PUT ON MY EMERGENCY BREAK! I WAS VERY SHUCK UP. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND ALARMING WHEN YOUR GEARS GO OUT. I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO MY HOUSE. I WILL NOT DRIVE A CAR THAT STAYS STUCK IN REVERSE. WHAT IF THIS SHOULD HAPPEN WHILE I AM DRIVING. THIS WOULD CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT FOR ME AND OTHER SAFE DRIVERS. PLEASE FIX THIS DEFECT!!!!!!!! WHO WILL TELL MY STORY IF I AM DEAD!!!!
MY 2005 MALIBU IS EXPERIENCING INTERMITTENT FAILURE OF THE POWER STEERING ASSIST, AND A RELATED "JERKING" IN THE STEERING WHEEL WHICH STOPS WHEN THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT. SOMETIMES THE POWER STEERING IS OUT WHEN THE CAR IS STARTED, BUT OTHER TIMES IT HAS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING. IF THIS WERE TO HAPPEN DURING A TURN OR ON A CURVE, IT COULD POSSIBLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I DIDN'T OWN THE CAR AT THE TIME, BUT IT WAS SERVICED UNDER THE MARCH 2014 RECALL FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM IN NOVEMBER 2017. BECAUSE OF THIS, AND BECAUSE THE WARRANTY PERIOD IS OVER, GM IS UNWILLING TO GIVE FURTHER ASSISTANCE FOR THIS DANGEROUS FAULT.
NOTICED A FUEL SMELL COMING FROM BACK OF 2005 MAILBU MAXX, NOTHING LEAKING FOR 3 DAYS, THEN NOTICED FUEL ON THE GROUND, WAS HAVING ISSUE STARTING (FUEL LINE NOT PRESSURIZED) TURNING THE CAR ON AND OFF A COUPLE OF TIMES BEFORE CRANKING WORKED TO PRESSURIZE THE LINE. AT THE SHOP NOW, THEY SAID IT A NON-REPAIRABLE FUEL LINE COMING OFF OF THE PUMP, GOING TO HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE SENDING UNIT AND IT IS GOING TO COST ME OUT THE WAHZOO TO REPAIR, HOW IS THERE NO RECALL ON THIS? I SPOKE WITH GM RECALL LINE AND WAS TOLD THERE IS NO RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH THE VIN OF MY CAR.
POWER STEERING WENT OUT AFTER HAVING IT RECALLED IN OCT 2104. OBVIOUSLY THE RECALL DIDN'T FIX THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM. LUCKILY IT HAPPENED WHILE IT WAS IN PARK AND WE WERE NOT DRIVING WHEN IT HAPPENED. THE RECALL HAPPENED WHEN MY MILEAGE WAS ROUGHLY 147,000 AND NOW WE HAVE ROUGHLY 183,00, WHICH WAS LESS THAN 40,000 MILES.
POWER STEERING LIGHT CONTINUOUSLY CHIMES ON. THERE HAS NEVER BEEN LOSS OF STEERING BUT LIGHT HAS BEEN CHIMING ON MORE AND MORE FREQUENTLY, ALMOST DAILY. WHEN TAKING IT IN, LIGHT DIDN'T COME ON SO THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. BECOMING MORE FREQUENT EVERY DAY, DOESN'T MATTER WHAT SPEED I AM GOING, COMES ON ON HIGHWAY OR DRIVING THROUGH TOWN.
VIN# 4TH DIGIT Z, CLOTH, 6-WAY, W/AIR BAG, DRIVER-SIDE, BUCKET SEAT BEGAN TO ROCK WHILE MAKING CORNERS AND STOP/STARTS, AND SANK TO MY RIGHT. DEALER'S NEW REP SAYS BROKEN FRAME. I SAY I'VE NEVER WEIGHED OVER 140 LBS, WHAT ABOUT THAT? SAYS, WELDS FAIL. DEALER QUOTES $1300 TO FIX "SUPPORT BAR BROKEN IN HALF. DEALTER WILL NOT INSTALL 2ND HAND BUCKET SEAT, BECAUSE WILL NOT/CAN NOT GUARANTEE. BUCKET IS NOT CURRENTLY FIXED. I AM RESEARCHING OPTIONS.
REPLACED CANISTER PURGE VALVE AND SOLENOID AS WELL AS GAS CAP TWICE. 2006 AND 2012. DEALER SERVICE NO WARRANTY. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STILL DOES NOT STAY OFF. SCARES YOU WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW IF CAR WILL STOP OR GET YOU HOME. COULD CAUSE PROBLEM IF THERE IS LEAK OR MECHANICAL ISSUE. #2 SEAT BELT LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF EVERY 3 TO 5 MILES. DEALER CAN'T FIND ISSUE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE GMC DEALER IN LITHONIA, GA FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, WHICH LOCATED A FAILURE CODE AT THE BODY CONTROL MODULE AND THE PASS LOCK SENSOR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
POWER STEERING STARTED FAILING. USUALLY IT WOULD COME BACK IF I RESTARTED THE CAR. TODAY IT HAS FAILED AND NOT RETURNED. USUALLY SEEMED TO FAIL WHEN I FIRST STARTED THE CAR, BUT LATER IT SEEMED LIKE IT FAILED AS I DROVE THE CAR.
DRIVER'S SEAT FRAME ASSEMBLY MOUNT IS BROKEN. APPEARS TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE SINCE SEAT TILTS TO THE RIGHT. IF INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT, THERE IS NO WAY THE SEAT WOULD REMAIN IN THE CAR. THE FACTORY WELDS HAVE BROKEN.
