THE CAR IS NOT FUNCTIONING RIGHT I AM HAVING MAJOR PROBLEMS SUCH AS MY MANUFACTURING CONTROL MY BATTERY LIGHT IT'S CONSTANTLY GOING ON AND OFF IT IS DRAINING MY ALTERNATOR I HAVE JUST RECENTLY SWITCHED OUT THE THROTTLE BODY AND IT WAS STILL GIVING ME MINOR PROBLEMS SUCH AS A BACK REAR END PASSENGER TIRE WELL I DON'T TECHNICALLY THINK THAT IT WAS THE TIRE BECAUSE IT MAKES A LOUD ROCKING NOISE HAVEN'T QUITE JUST FOUND OUT THE PROBLEM I HAVE CHECKED OUT EVERY OTHER THING THAT I COULD THINK ABOUT TO MY VEHICLE 2006 CHEVY MALIBU THAT IS BUT I MYSELF CONTINUE TO WORK ON IT AND HALF OF THE TIME IT STILL SHUTS DOWN OR WON'T COMPLY RIGHT AND ONE MORE OTHER THING MY ABS SYSTEM TAKES A 60% FUSE BUT THE ABS STILL COMES ON WITH THE FUSE IN AND WITH IT OUT AND I AM HAVING A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH MY TRACTION CONTROL SENSOR BUT NOW SO FAR MY CAR IS JUST DOWN AND NOT DRIVABLE AND ONE MORE THING MY CAR WAS DRIVING DURING THE SHUTDOWN SYSTEM ON THE CITY STREETS

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO JIM KERAS CHEVROLET (2000 COVINGTON PIKE, MEMPHIS, TN 38128) WHERE THEY PERFORMED SERVICES TO THE BRAKE BOOSTER, MASTER CYLINDER, HYDRAULIC BRAKE SYSTEM, LOWER CONTROL ARMS, AS WELL AS SEVERAL OTHER UNKNOWN SERVICES. THREE WEEKS AFTER THE REPAIRS, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE RESIDENCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 241,404.
SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER STEERING. *TR
I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY GETTING READY TO TURN AND MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT AND ALMOST CAUSED A BAD ACCIDENT. IT KEEPS GOING OUT OFF AND ON. *TR
ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING IT HOME. *TR
THERE IS A SITUATION HAPPENING WITH THE HEADLIGHT. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS SO COMPROMISED THAT IT MELTS AND DESTROYS THE CONNECTIONS. I HAVE REPLACED TONS OF BULBS AND NOW THE LIGHT CONNECTOR IS ERODING BECAUSE OF EXCESSIVE HEAT CONDUCTIVITY WITHIN THE SYSTEM.
STEERING WENT OUT ON MY 06 WITH ONLY 35K ON IT. CHEVY WOULD NOT 'PARTICIPATE ' IN THE REPAIR EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS A RECALL #14116B. I WAS DRIVING ON THE CITY STREETS DRIVING STRAIGHT WHEN THE STEERING FAILED DUE TO THIS FAULTY PRODUCT, BUT FORTUNATELY I WAS NOT HURT. I WAS A CHEVY SUPPORTER BECAUSE MY DAD HAS ALWAYS OWNED THEM, BUT NOW WE WILL CAMPAIGN AGAINST CHEVROLET AND THEIR LACK OF CARE. I WILL UPLOAD DOCUMENTS WHEN I RECEIVE THE REPAIR BILL FROM OUR LOCAL CHEVY DEALER WHO ALSO WAS NOT MUCH HELP IN THIS MATTER. THE STEERING OUTAGE WAS AS DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL. *TR
CAR WAS IN MOTION AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AND FROZE UP CAUSING IT TO BE DIFFICULT TO TURN.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED THE FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V153000 (STEERING) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. WHEN VEHICLE IS STATIONARY, THE STEERING WHILE BEGAN TO MOVE AND SHAKE BY ITSELF. WHILE, I WAS DRIVING AND MAKING A RIGHT TURN, THE POWER STEERING COMPLETELY WENT OUT AND FORCED ME TO CROSS THE CENTER LANE. WHEN THIS HAPPENED, I ALMOST HIT HEAD ON WITH A CAR THAT WAS DRIVING IN THE LEFT LANE. I HAD TO USE ALL MY STRENGTH TO GET BACK INTO THE RIGHT LANE AND NOT CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. AFTER THIS HAPPENED, THE POWER STEERING ERROR MESSAGE POPPED UP ON THE RADIO DASH BOARD.
THE STEERING WHEEL CONTINUES TO KEEP LOCKING UP WHILE I'M DRIVING AND I HAVE TO CUT CAR OFF AND START MULTIPLE TIMES IN ORDER FOR IT TO DRIVE PROPERLY,IT HAS DONE THIS WHILE I'M DRIVING AND WHILE I WAS PARKED. I WAS TOLD THAT IT HAS BEEN MULTIPLE RECALLS SPECIFICALLY ON THIS BUT THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING BECAUSE IT'S NOT AN OPEN RECALL.
POWER STEERING ISSUE, TORQUE SENSOR RECALL 15V064000 SUDDEN POWER STEERING LOSS WHILE DRIVING C0545
I WAS DRIVING WITH MY KIDS IN THE CAR AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN MY CAR STARTED BEEPING SAYING SOMETHING ABOUT POWER STEERING, THE WHEEL GOT HARD AND I ALMOST CRASH TRYING TO TURN. I PARKED, TURNED THE CAR OFF AND TURNED IT BACK ON AND STEERING WHEEL WAS FINE. THEN NOW IT FOES IT ALL THE TIME RANDOMLY WHILE IM DRIVING. IT IS SO UNSAFE I CALLED THE GM THEY SAID MY CAR DIDNT QUALIFY FOR THE POWER STEERING RECALL THAT WAS PUT OUT FOR CHEVY MALIBUS 2006.
MY 2006 CHEVY MALIBU POWER STEERING IS NOT WORKING. NOTHING WAS WRONG AND EVERYTHING IS FIXED ON IT BUT THE STEERING WHEEL DOESN'T HAVE ANY ASSIST. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY.
ELECTRIC ASSIST IS NOT WORKING . WILL QUIT WHILE DRIVING . HAVE TO STOP CAR AND TURN ENGINE OFF THEN SOMETHING RESETS AND IT WORKS FOR AWHILE. VERY UNPREDICTABLE AND UNSAFE.
IN DRIVEWAY ANTI THEFT SYSTEM WENT ON AND VEHICLE WOULDN'T START. SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED WITHOUT ANY WARNING. COULD HAVE HAPPENED ANYWHERE CAUSING SAFETY ISSUES, ESPECIALLY IF IT HAPPENED AT NIGHT. THE BATTERY WAS FULLY CHARGED.
MY FUEL PUMP DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY IT READS EMPTY. ALSO I WAS DRIVING AND MY POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING AS I WAS TURNING. I WAS VERY SCARED OF CRASHING MY CAR. I HAD TO STOP MY CAR AND TURN IT OFF THEN TURN IT BACK ON AND MY POWER STEERING WAS WORKING AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN THE LAST 2 DAYS.

THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED HEAD, FACE, AND NECK INJURIES AND MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS PROVIDED. THE DRIVERS HEAD HIT THE WINDSHIELD. THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE FACE HOWEVER, MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NOT PROVIDED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN IMPOUND LOT THEN TOWED TO THE CONTACTS RESIDENCE. THE INSURANCE COMPANY DEEMED THE VEHICLE TOTAL. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 180,000.
POWER STEERING STOPS WORKING. 1ST TIME WAS ON THE INTERSTATE ON THE WAYTO WORK. SHUT CAR OFF AND RESTARTED IT AND IT WORKED THE LAST 2 MILES. LEAVING WORK IT WENT OUT AGAIN ON THE HIGHWAY.

MY 2006 CHEVY MALIBU'S POWER STEERING IS MALFUNCTIONING. AT TIMES IT DOESN'T WORK WHEN I START THE CAR. OTHER TIMES IT QUITS WORKING WHILE DRIVING. I NOTICED WHERE THERE WAS A RECALL FOR POWER STEERING ISSUES FROM GM. I CONTACTED MY DEALER AND WAS TOLD AFTER GIVING MY VIN THAT IT WASN'T COVERED BECAUSE OF MILEAGE. I TOOK THE CAR TO MY LOCAL REPAIR SHOP AND TOLD BY THEM TO CONTACT GM BECAUSE OF THE RECALL. I CONTACTED GM THROUGH THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER BUT WAS TOLD SINCE I WASN'T THE ORIGINAL OWNER THAT IT'S NOT COVERED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 241239.
POWER STEERING STARTED STOPPED WORKING.
MY DAUGHTER'S 2006 CHEVY MALIBUE HAS A STEERING PROBLEM. SHE HEARD THE INDICATOR BELL FROM THE DASH AND THEN HER STEERING INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON THE DASH. THIS TELLS US THERE IS A PROBLEM IN HER STEERING SYSTEM. SHE HAS EXPERIENCED A SLIGHT LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND FOUND IT THE BE A LITTLE HARDER TO STEER. . YOUR WEB SITE HAS INDICATED THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE 2006 AND 2007 CHEVY MALIBUE MANUFACTURERD CERTAIN MONTHS. WE CALLED OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO FINE IF MY DAUGHTER'S CAR WAS ONE OF THE DEFECTIVE CARS WITH A POWER STEERING ELECTRICAL MODULES. THEY STATED NO. I LIKE TO KNOW WHAT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CAR MANUFACTURED IN FEBRUARY AND ONE IN APRIL. THERE BUILT ON THE SAME ASSEMBLY LINE USING THE SAME PARTS. MY COMPLAINT IS THAT SOMEONE ELSE WITH THE SAME YEAR AND MODEL GET THERE CAR FIXED AND SHE DOES NOT. SHE HAS A LOW PAYING JOB AND CANNOT REALLY AFFORD THE REPAIR BILL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 119,500.
THE ELECTRONIC STEERING STOPS WORKING INTERMITTENTLY. THIS CAUSES THE CAR TO STEER VERY HARD AND IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE. I'VE DONE SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THERE HAS BEEN RECALLS FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE. WHEN I ENTER MY VIN NUMBER OF COARSE IT ISN'T INCLUDED. THE PAST RECALLS NEED TO BE EXTENDED AS I SEE THERE ARE MANY OTHERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE AND FALL IN THE SAME CATEGORY. IT SHOULD NOT TAKE A FATALITY BEFORE THIS HAPPENS. GM KNOWS THEY HAVE A VERY BAD SAFETY ISSUE HERE AND SHOULD HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR ALL THE VEHICLES EFFECTED, NOT JUST A PORTION. THIS PROBLEM OCCURS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS JUST STARTED AND WHILE TRAVELING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR THEN HAS TO BE STOPPED, SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED FOR THE ISSUE TO CLEAR.

THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 190,000.
CAR RUNS FINE THEN WITHOUT WARNING IT WILL JUST DIE. DOES THIS WHILE DRIVING IN MOTION. IT IS CAR USED BY TWO NEW TEEN DRIVERS. IT IS VERY UNSAFE BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE A LOT OF DRIVING TIME. I LOOKED AT A LOT OF WIRING CONNECTIONS, CLEANED UP ALL GROUND CONNECTIONS WITH WIRE BRUSH, REPLACED TEMP SENSOR, CRANK POSITION SENSOR, BEEN GOING THRU AND FIXING BAD WIRING CONNECTIONS. REPLACED FUEL PUMP. AND FIXED BROKEN WIRES COMING OUT OF BODY THAT GO TO FUEL GAUGE.
WHEN SLOWING DOWN ON HWY EXIT RAMP, CAR MADE THREE QUICK POPPING SOUNDS AND STARTED SMOKING. PULLED OFF ROAD AND MORE SMOKE CALLED 911. THE CAR DASH CAUGHT FIRE AND CAR INTERIOR BURNED BEFORE FIREFIGHTERS COULD PUT IT OUT. FIREFIGHTER SUGGESTED IT COULD BE A TRANSMISSION LINE? NEVER HAD ANY TRANSMISSION TROUBLE PREVIOUSLY.
BRAKE LIGHTS ILLUMINATE WITHOUT THE BRAKE PEDAL BEING PUSHED; THE BRAKE LIGHTS DO NOT ILLUMINATE WHEN THE PEDAL IS PUSHED.; DIFFICULTY MOVING THE GEAR SHIFTER OUT OF THE "PARK" POSITIONS WITHOUT PUSHING THE BRAKE. GM SAYS THERE WAS NEVER A RECALL, BUT A SERVICE BULLETIN WAS ISSUED IN REGARDS TO THIS PROBLEM.

OCCASIONALLY, THE COMPUTER WILL SUCCESSFULLY RESET AND POWER STEERING WILL BE RESTORED FOR A SHORT WHILE UNTIL IT HAPPENS AGAIN. TECH CAUSE FROM DIAGNOSTIC TEST: SCAN CHECK, CODES C0550 (ECU PERF INTERNAL ELECTRICAL FAILURE), C0475 (ELECTRIC STEERING MOTOR CIRC.) BOTH CODES ARE HISTORY. OK STEERING IN THIS CAR WAS GOOD SEEN THAT IT HAD A RECALL BEFORE FOR THAT. ALSO WHEN I CALLED CHEVY THEY TOLD ME .BUT THAT'S MY MOST CONCERN AS SEEING AS MUCH I HAVE PUT INTO THIS CAR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC OR A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
THERE WAS A RECALL FOR ELECTRIC POWER STEERING MINE WAS TAKEN CARE OFF BEFORE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. HOWEVER, IT LOST ELECTRIC POWER STEERING AGAIN AND IS NO LONGER UNDER RECALL WARRANTY.
SPEEDOMETER STOPS WORKING WHILE DRIVING, SECURITY LIGHT COMES ON, ENGINE IGNITION STOPS WORKING AND CAR DOESN'T TURN OVER OR START. THIS HAPPENS WHEN IN MOTION AND NOT IN MOTION.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ALREADY REPAIRED PER A RECALL FOR THE SAME FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING ASSIST NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. A REPAIR APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED WITH THE MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 137,000.
THERE WAS DIFFICULTY WITH THE POWER STEERING UNDER ALL DRIVING CONDITIONS. THE POWER STEERING INDICATOR LIGHT APPEARED WITHIN THE DRIVER INFORMATION CENTER. THE CURRENT MILEAGE AT THE TIME OF SERVICE WAS 144,961 MILES. ON PAGE 1 OF THE ATTACHED DOCUMENT, DEALER DIAGNOSTICS IDENTIFIED THE STEERING TORQUE SENSOR HAS AN INTERNAL FAILURE. ON PAGE 2, THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER RECALL AT 115,069 MILES, AND WOULD NOT BE REPLACED UNDER RECALL AT THIS TIME. THE PREVIOUS RECALL REPLACEMENT PART IS OBVIOUSLY DEFECTIVE WHEN, WITH LESS THAN 30,000 MILES SINCE RECALL REPLACEMENT, THE PART FAILED AGAIN. THE OWNER SHOULD BE REIMBURSED BY CHEVROLET FOR SUBSTANDARD RECALL REPLACEMENT WITH INADEQUATE PARTS. RECALL = N140116.

THE LAST RECALL YOU TOOK MY VEHICLE IN TOOK THE STEERING WHEEL POSITIONING TORQUE SENSOR OUT THAT WAS GOOD BECAUSE YOU THOUGHT IT MIGHT GO BAD AND CAUSE A SAFETY ISSUE YOU REPLACE IT WITH ONE THAT WENT BAD I ALMOST GOT IN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF YOUR REPAIR. I CALLED MY GM DEALER AND THEY'RE REFUSING TO STAND BEHIND . IF IT WAS A BIG ENOUGH SAFETY ISSUE TO CAUSE A RECALL. I THINK YOU NEED TO RECALL IT AGAIN. IF THE SENSOR YOU PUT IN WENT BAD YOU DIDN'T CORRECT THE PROBLEM YOU ONLY PUT ANOTHER BAD SENSOR IN SO YOU STILL HAVE THE SAME SAFETY RISK. THIS SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BEFORE THERE'S AN ACCIDENT AND SOMEBODY DIES BECAUSE OF YOUR POOR RECALL. I WAS DRIVING 55 MILE AN HOUR ON A CORNER MY RADIO BEAT AND SAID POWER STEERING THE WHEEL JERKED AND IT WAS REALLY HARD TO STEER.
AT TIMES ELECTRONIC STEERING STOPS WORKING AND RADIO DISPLAYS POWER STEERING. HAPPENS WHEN DRIVING. GM SAYS VEHICLE IS NOT INVOLVED IN A RECALL.
THE POWER STEERING GOES IN AND OUT WHILE DRIVING. HAVE TO STOP THE VEHICLE, SHUT THE CAR DOWN AND RESTART IT. KEEPS HAPPENING OVER AND OVER AGAIN
