TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD TURN INDEPENDENTLY WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION OR IN PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHO STATED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN AND THE POWER STEERING MOTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 14V153000 (STEERING), HOWEVER THE 2007 MODEL YEAR WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.

LETTER FROM CONSTITUENTS REGARDING THEIR 2007 MALIBU ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING (EPS) PROBLEMS AND FAILURE; REQUESTING THAT THE APPROPRIATE STATE OF OHIO AND FEDERAL AGENCIES INVESTIGATE THIS EPS FAILURE IN THE 2007 MALIBU MODEL. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED LAST WEEK, THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN EXHIBITING A PULSATING/JERKING MOVEMENT, WHILE STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. THEN ON APRIL 5, 2014 THE POWER STEERING FAILED. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER, IT WOULD COST ANYWHERE FROM $00-700 TO FIX THE STEERING ISSUE. *JB UPDATED 05/06/14
I HAVE AN 2007 MALIBU LS V6, ONE NIGHT I PLACED MY CAR IN PARK, TURNED THE ENGINE OFF, REMOVED MY KEY AND SEATBELT LIKE I NORMALLY DO AND THE CAR CONTINUED TO ROLL FORWARD. I ATTEMPTED TO PRESS THE BRAKES WHICH DID NOT RESPOND AND THE CAR ROLLED OFF OF A SMALL CLIFF. I ALONG WITH A PASSENGER WERE IN THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME AND SINCE WE WERE IN THE PROCESS OF EXITING WE WERE THROWN FORWARD WHEN THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE HIT THE GROUND. I PLAYED THAT DAY BACK SO MANY TIMES AND COULD NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THE CAR DID THAT. IT WAS A VERY SCARY EVENT AND I DON'T ATTEMPT TO PARK ON INCLINES ANYMORE. SINCE THIS EVENT, I HAVE RECEIVED TWO RECALLS FROM THE COMPANY WITH NO DATE IN CORRECTING THE ISSUE. I AM AFRAID I WILL ATTEMPT TO STOP AND THE BRAKES WILL FAIL AGAIN. THANK GOODNESS THIS FIRST TIME DID NOT RESULT IN A PHYSICAL INJURY, JUST A TRAUMATIZING EVENT. *TR
THIS VEHICLE HAS THE SAME ELECTRICAL POWER STEERING ASSIST UNIT AS OTHER GM MODELS THAT HAVE BEEN RECALLED, WHY IS THIS VEHICLE NOT RECALLED. IT WILL KICK OFF RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING AND THEN SOMETIMES KICK BACK ON WHILE DRIVING, NOW I HAVE IT IMMOBILE IN MY GARAGE AS IT IS UNDRIVEABLE. THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL OCCASION I FEARED MY LIFE AS I HAD TO MAKE QUICK TURNS TO AVOID POTHOLES, ETC. I NO LONGER DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AND IT REMAINS IMMOBILE IN MY GARAGE WAITING FOR THIS TO BE A RECALL TO FIND OUT THAT THIS MODEL YEAR IS NOT INCLUDED. VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST POWER STEERING, AND "POWER STEERING" CAME UP ON THE MESSAGE CENTER. I HAVE READ MULTIPLE ON-LINE POSTINGS DESCRIBING THE SAME EVENT THAT HAPPENED TO ME/THIS VEHICLE. IT IS A 4 CYLINDER WITH ELECTRIC ASSIST POWER STEERING. HOW IS IT THAT THE 2007 MODEL YEAR ESCAPED A RECALL FROM 2004-2006 AND 2008-2009? *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE IGNITION SUDDENLY SWITCHED TO THE OFF POSITION AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE IGNITION WAS TURNED BACK TO THE ON POSITION AND THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS NORMAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT AS MY WIFE WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. BEFORE IT WENT COMPLETELY OUT THE STEERING WHEEL WAS MOVING WHEN THE CAR WAS STOPPED. THE WHEEL APPEARED TO BE JUMPING. THIS HAPPENED ON THE SAME DAY THAT GM ANNOUNCED THE RECALL FOR THE STEERING ISSUES ON 2006 AND 2008 MALIBU'S. I CALLED GM TO TELL THEM ABOUT MY CAR AND THEY TOLD ME TO BAD THAT MINE WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. I'M SURE GM USED THE SAME PARTS IN ALL THREE YEARS 2006, 2007, & 2008. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE VEERED TO THE LEFT AND THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO CONTROL. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
WHILE IN MY DRIVEWAY, I TURNED ON MY IGNITION TO TRAVEL TO A LOCAL STORE AND AT FIRST ASSUMED THE STEERING WHEEL WAS LOCKED UP SOME HOW. AS I TRIED TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL, I WAS ABLE TO TURN THE TIRES USING BRUTE FORCE. TRIED IT AGAIN A FEW MINUTES AFTER EXITING AND THEN RE-ENTERING THE VEHICLE, IT SUDDENLY WORKED FINE SO I ASSUMED IT WAS A FLUKE. TRIED IT LATER THAT DAY AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED WHERE THE POWER STEERING SIMPLY DID NOT EXIST. HAD MY FATHER-IN-LAW TEST IT AND HE CAME TO THE SAME CONCLUSION THAT IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE POWER STEERING. DROVE IT TO BALISE CHEVROLET IN WARWICK, RI WHILE STILL EXPERIENCING THE LACK OF POWER STEERING FOR REPAIR. RECALL FOR POWER STEERING FOR 2007 CHEVY MALIBU CAME OUT A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER. CURRENTLY MY VIN DOES NOT QUALIFY BUT I CLEARLY HAD THE ISSUE AS NOTED IN THE RECALL. *JS

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, A CHIME SOUNDED AS THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILED. THE POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT WAS ALSO ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT HAD TO MANEUVER THE STEERING WHEEL FORCEFULLY AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. ONCE RESTARTED, THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE THEY STATED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.
AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF. PUT GAS IN THE CAR AND THE GAUGE GOES TO EMPTY EVEN THOUGH I HAVE A FULL TANK OF GAS. (REPLACED PART IN THE GAS TANK A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO) ENGINE LIGHT HAS STAYED ON. NEED TO REPLACE 2 SENSORS IN THE ENGINE. LOUD NOISES WHEN I GO OVER ROUGH ROADS. I AM NOT SURE. AFTER THE STEERING WHEEL LINKAGE WAS REPLACED THAT IS WHEN THE NOISE GOT LOUDER. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY STATED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN, STEERING MOTOR AND THE STEERING CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,000.

THE STEERING TIGHTENS UP, RACK & PINION NEEDS REPLACEMENT AND STEERING BOX IS MALFUNCTIONING CAR WAS PUT IN PARK AND RESTARTED, THE POWER STEERING WAS NOT WORKING AND STEERING BECAME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT, ALMOST LIKE MANUAL STEERING. STEERING WHEEL WOULD SHAKE INTERMITTENTLY. WITH THESE CONDITIONS, I WAS ADVISED NOT TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE. WITH ALL THE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS MALIBU AND ALL THE PROBLEMS WITH THE IGNITION, WHICH IS IN THE STEERING COLUMN, MY PROBLEMS ARE PROBABLY RELATED. TO REPAIR WOULD COST AROUND $2000.00 WITHOUT LABOR. *TR
AGAIN, I FILE A COMPLAINT. I LOST MY POWER STEERING, A MESSAGE WAS DISPLAYED TO INFORM ME OF THE LOSS. STEERING WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO MAINTAIN AT MANUAL STEERING.. AT THIS TIME NO RECALLS WERE MADE. ON 3/31 A RECALL WAS MADE FOR CHEVROLET MALIBU MODELS FROM 2004 AND 2005, AND SOME FROM 2006, 208 AND 2009. MINE IS A 2007 AND IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. MY AUTO HAS BEEN UNSAFE TO DRIVE BECAUSE OF THIS STEERING PROBLEM. WHY ISN;T MY AUTOMOBILE ON THE RECALL LIST. YOU CORRECTED THE PROBLEM FOR 1 YEAR AND THEN WENT BACK TO A CHEAPER WAY ??????? WHAT WAS DONE DIFFERENT TO THE 2007 MODELS, THAT THEY DIDN;T APPEAR IN THE RECALL. MY SON WAS DRIVING HOME DURING A SNOW STORM RETURNING TO ILLINOIS FROM A JOB INTERVIEW IN GRAND RAPIDS MI. WHEN THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING HAD A SUDDEN AND TOTAL FAILURE. HE WAS STILL ABLE TO STEER THE VEHICLE BUT IT REQUIRED SIGNIFICANT MORE EFFORT AND THIS WAS MADE MORE DANGEROUS DUE TO THE SNOW COVERED ROADS.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR BEEPS AND THE POWER STEERING STOPS IN THE STEERING COLUMN AND POWER STEERING FLASHES ON THE STEREO SCREEN. WHEN I STOP THE CAR AND START IT BACK THE POWER STEERING WORKS FINE. SOMETIMES IT WORKS AS IT SHOULD AND SOMETIMES IT STOPS WORKING MOSTLY AT HIGHER SPEEDS. I'LL CUT THE CAR OFF AT DIFFERENT TIMES THEN RESTART IT AND THE POWER STEERING WORKS FINE. IT GOES IN AND OUT OFTEN. *TR
WIFE DRIVING IN TOWN WHEN POWER STEERING INFORMATION CAME UP ON THE RADIO SCREEN. STEERING WHEEL STARTED TO VIOLENTLY JERK TO THE RIGHT. THEN THE POWER STEERING SHUT DOWN AND FORCED MY WIFE TO STRUGGLE WITH STEERING TO GET TO A SAFE AREA PARKING LOT. VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF. UPON RE-IGNITION, POWER STEERING RETURNED. FOUR INCIDENTS OF SIMILAR OCCURRENCE SINCE THEN. WIFE WON'T DRIVE CAR NOW. VERY DANGEROUS CONSIDERING POTENTIAL RAMIFICATIONS TO CAUSING CRASH. 75000 MILES AT START OF PROBLEM. WHY HAS THIS NOT BEEN RECALLED. CAN GM SMELL LAWSUIT SHOULD ANY FAMILY BE INJURED DUE TO THIS? THEY KNOW OF THE PROBLEM BUT EXPECT CONSUMERS TO LAY OUT OVER 1000.00 DOLLARS TO FIX A PROBLEM CAUSED BY DEFECTIVE GM PARTS/VEHICLE. LIABILITY IS ON GM. *TR
THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING HAS FAILED SEVERAL TIMES ALMOST CAUSING MY SON TO CRASH INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. MY WIFE ALMOST RAN INTO A BUILDING AND OTHER VEHICLES BECAUSE OF THE FAILURE AND NOW REFUSES TO DRIVE IT. THIS HAS OCCURRED WEEKLY FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS SOMETIMES WITH THE FAILURE LASTING SEVERAL MINUTES TO SEVERAL DAYS. GM HAS RECALLED OTHER YEARS AND NEEDS TO INCLUDE ALL 2007 MALIBU BEFORE THERE ARE MORE FATALITIES.

THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO SHUT OFF AND RESTART THE VEHICLE FOR THE STEERING ASSIST TO RETURN TO NORMAL FUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 96,000.

THE VEHICLE DECELERATED ALMOST IMMEDIATELY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,000.
THE POWERSTEERING WOULD INADVERTENTLY GET STIFF AND THE POWERSTEERING INDICATOR LIGHT WOULD COME ON TO INDICATE AN ISSUE. INQUIRED OF ANY RECALLS AND GM AND THE DEALERSHIP SAID THERE WERE NONE AT THE TIME SCHEDULED THE VEHICLE FOR REPAIR ON APRIL 3, 2014 AND SINCE THEN GM HAS RECALLED MANY MODELS FOR THE POWERSTEERING ISSUE EXCEPT FOR THE 2007 MAILBU WHICH I FEEL SHOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF BY GM SINCE THEY KNOW THIS IS A DEFECT IN THE POWERSTEERING. AS OF TODAYS DATE MY VEHICLE IS NOT AMONG THE RECALL AND IT SHOULD BE I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR GM SHOULD MAKE THIS RIGHT. *TR
MY STEERING WHEEL PULSATE WHENEVER IT FEELS LIKE IT. MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP WHILE I AM DRIVING. I HAVE TO TURN MY CAR OFF AND THEN TURN IT BACK ON IN ORDER TO HAVE POWER STEERING. I HAVE SPENT MONEY FOR ROTORS RESURFACED, ALIGNMENT, AND TIE RODS. I AM WORRIED ABOUT THIS SITUATION CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO DEALER WHERE I WAS INFORMED THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. UPON STARTING MY CAR, I HAD NO POWER STEERING AND THE DISPLAY READ "SERVICE POWER STEERING." AFTER SHUTTING THE CAR OFF, IT WILL RESET. THIS INCIDENT HAS HAPPENED FIVE TIMES. UPON CHECKING WITH A DEALERSHIP, THEY INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR 2005, 2006, AND 2008 MALIBUS BUT NOT FOR 2007, AND, THEREFORE, I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR. I'M FRUSTRATED THAT I'M EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE OTHER MODELS BUT IT IS NOT RECOGNIZED AS A RECALL IN THE 2007 MODEL. WHY??? *TR

WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST STEERING STOPPED WORKING. AFTER I GOT OFF THE HIGHWAY, I SHUT OFF MY CAR AND RESTARTED IT ABOUT 10 MINUTES LATER. THE STEERING WAS BACK TO NORMAL. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIME SINCE THEN AND FEAR SOMETHING TRAGIC COULD HAPPEN. I CONTACTED CENTRAL CHEVROLET IN WEST SPRINGFIELD MASSACHUSETTS AND THEY RAN THE VIN. SERVICE DEPARTMENT STATED THAT THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL RECALLS FOR THAT SAME ISSUE IT NOT FOR THIS PARTICULAR CAR. WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE BEFORE GENERAL MOTORS RECALLS THE THOUSANDS OF CARS WITH THE SAME ISSUE? LET'S GET THESE CARS FIXED BEFORE A TRAGIC ACCIDENT HAPPENS. WHILE DRIVING ON A SUNNY AFTERNOON AT 50 MPH, THE POWER STEERING SERVICE MESSAGE DISPLAYED ON THE RADIO AND THE ELECTRONIC POWER ASSIST WENT OUT. WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF ROAD AND INTO A GAS STATION. TURNED OFF CAR. WHEN RETURNED TO THE CAR, STARTED THE CAR AND THE POWER STEERING FUNCTIONED FINE. OVER THE PAST FIVE WEEKS SINCE THE FIRST INCIDENT OF THIS HAPPENING, IT HAS HAPPENED 6 ADDITIONAL TIMES. EACH TIME THE PROBLEM RESETS ITSELF ONCE THE CAR HAS BEEN TURNED OFF, ALLOWED TO SIT OFF FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES, AND THEN RESTARTED. OTHER VEHICLES WITH SIMILAR ELECTRONIC POWER ASSIST MOTORS HAVE BEEN RECALLED, BUT FOR SOME REASON THIS MODEL HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED. A NON-DEALERSHIP AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE CENTER INDICATED THAT THIS PROBLEM WAS PART OF A RECALL, AND REFUSED TO PERFORM THE SERVICE. DEALERSHIP WAS WILLING TO PERFORM THE SERVICE, AS LONG AS I PAID, SINCE THE VIN DID NOT COME UP IN THE RECALLS FOR THE ELECTRONIC POWER ASSIST. DEALERSHIP INDICATED THAT SENSOR IN STEERING COLUMN WAS FAULTY, BUT TO REPLACE I WOULD NEED TO REPLACE ENTIRE STEERING COLUMN. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING WARNING LAMP WAS ALSO ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING ASSIST MOTOR AND THE STEERING COLUMN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO A DEFECT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 109,945 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 110,000.

SEVERAL TIMES WHEN STARTING MY CAR MY SEATBELT LIGHT STAYED ON AND CHIMED. THERE WAS A DISPLAY ON MY RADIO THAT READ, SERVICE AIRBAG. I CHECKED MY MANUAL AND READ THAT THE AIR BAG DOESN'T NEED MAINTENANCE SERVICE AND IF THE LIGHT STAYED ON, SOMETHING WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM MAY BE THE FAULT. IT SUGGESTED THAT SENSOR'S MAY BE AT FAULT IN DIFFERENT AREA'S OF THE CAR AND TO SIT UPRIGHT. I MADE SURE WHEN GETTING BACK IN MY CAR TO SIT AS FAR BACK AS POSSIBLE IN THE SEAT. IT DIDN'T COME ON, BUT HAS REOCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE THE FIRST TIME. WITH THE RECENT RECALLS, I AM WONDERING IF THIS IS ALSO UNDER THAT RECALL WITH THE IGNITION AND SEATBELTS. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 189,000.
THE PROBLEM STARTED AS A CLUNKING NOISE WHEN I WOULD TURN MY STEERING WHEEL. POWER STEERING WOULD INTERMITTENTLY GO OUT AND COME BACK UPON RESTARTING CAR. NOW IT'S ALMOST ALWAYS GONE AND IF IT DOES WORK IT GOES OUT AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT, AFTER DINGING TO LET ME KNOW. AFTER HAVING MY CAR LOOKED AT I FOUND OUT THE ENTIRE STEERING COLUMN NEEDS REPLACED ALONG WITH THE ELECTRONIC ASSIST MODULE COSTING ME ALMOST 1400.00 IN REPAIRS FOR A FAULTY ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING SYSTEM. I AM LEGITIMATELY CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF ALL '05, '06, AND '07 MALIBU DRIVERS. THIS IS SO UNSAFE. I'VE COME CLOSE TO HAVING AN ACCIDENT 5 TIMES NOW DUE TO THIS PROBLEM. WHEN I CALLED GENERAL MOTORS THE WOMAN SAID THAT THEY CHANGED THE POWER STEERING ON ALL MALIBU'S AFTER '07 THIS TELLS ME THEY KNOW IT'S A PROBLEM BUT JUST DON'T CARE. I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND MY CAR JERKS OVER AND ALMOST HIT A 4 WHEELER. ON MY RADIO IT SHOUTED POWER STEERING AND WENT OUT. I HAVE CALLED GMC 3 TIMES TOTAL REGARDING THIS ISSUE. I JUST WANTED TO TAKE IT TO THEM TO GET PROBLEM FIXED, BUT THEY NEVER GOT BACK WITH ME. FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP WAS VERY RUDE AND DIDN'T WANT TO HELP ME. HAS ELECTRONIC STEERING OVER HYDRAULICS. ANYWAY TURNED KEY OFF AND BACK ON, STEERING WAS FINE, THIS HAPPENED FOR A FEW DAYS, SOME TIMES YOU COULD CYCLE KEY ONCE, OTHERS IT COULD TAKE MULTIPLE TIMES. ALSO WHILE SITTING STILL AND CAR RUNNING, STEERING WHEEL WOULD JERK TO LEFT. I TOOK CAR TO LOCAL DEALER FOR REPAIRS. AN ELECTRONIC MODULE HAD FAILED, CAUSING PROGRESSIVE DAMAGE TO STEERING COLUMN. TOTAL COST$1199.90. LOOKING ONLINE, RECALLS WERE ISSUED FOR 2004-2006, 2008 AND 2009 MODELS HAVING SAME ISSUE. THE WARRANTIES ON THESE UNIT WERE EXTENDED TIL 10 YEARS 150,000 MILES. I HAVE CALLED GM AND THEY HAVE YET TO GIVE ME A VERBAL RESPONSE. IF SAFETY IS SUCH A HUGE CONCERN OF THEIRS, AND STEERING IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THEY SHOULD ADMIT THEY HAVE AN ISSUE, INCLUDE THE 2007 MODELS AND CORRECT IT. *TR
