REGULAR HEADLIGHTS DO NOT WORK. THEY WERE GOING OFF THEN ON FOR AT LEAST 3 WEEKS. SHUTTING OFF ON THE FREEWAY 3 TIMES. FORCING ME TO USE MY HIGH BEAMS. PLEASE REVIEW YOUR RECALL TO INCLUDE MY 2008 ALSO. TIRE SENSOR PROBLEMS SINCE I GOT THE CAR. 3 YEARS AGO. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR REPAIR. ADDITIONALLY, THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V153000 (STEERING) HOWEVER, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RECALL HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,240.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE AT A STOP, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SHIFT INTO GEAR AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000.
WHILE DRIVING AT A RATE OF 35 MPH, THE STEERING ON MY CAR BEGAN TO ACT UP. THE STEERING FELT LIKE IT WANTED TO LOCK UP BUT THEN IT WOULD JERK TO THE LEFT THEN TO THE RIGHT. AFTER DRIVING A FEW BLOCKS, IT STOPPED. I REMAINED IN THE "SLOW" LANE BECAUSE I WASN'T SURE WHAT WAS GOING ON. AFTER DRIVING A FEW MORE BLOCKS, IT BEGAN TO DO THE SAME THING. THIS BEHAVIOR CONTINUED UNTIL I REACHED MY DESTINATION. I ALSO INCREASED MY SPEED TO 55 MPH WHEN I APPROACHED THE EXPRESSWAY. I RECEIVED A NOTICE ABOUT A RECALL ON THE STEERING; HOWEVER, THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. THE DEALERSHIP ONLY REPLIES WITH, WE DON'T HAVE A PART. DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, TRIED TO SWITCH LANES AND VEHICLE'S TRACTION WENT OUT OF CONTROL, MAKING THE VEHICLE HAD UNSTABLE, TRIED TO CONTROLLED THE CAR, BUT THERE WERE OTHER VEHICLES DRIVING NEXT TO THE CAR WHICH RESULTED IN A MULTIPLE CAR CRASH, HAD RECENTLY RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER FROM GM STATING THAT THE CAR HAD THAT PROBLEM BUT THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS AVAILABLE, THEY WERE GOING TO CONTACT ME AS SOON AS THE PARTS WERE AVAILABLE BUT UP TO TODAY I HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING FROM GENERAL MOTORS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED. THE VEHICLE CROSSED AN INTERSECTION AND CRASHED INTO AN IRON FENCE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP PREVENTING THE DRIVER FROM STEERING. THIS CAUSED THE DRIVER TO CRASH INTO A POLE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED TO 25 MPH AND THE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THERE WAS A CHIME THAT SOUNDED THROUGHOUT THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS MERGED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND RESTARTED BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT OFFER A REMEDY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I PUT MY CHILDREN I THE CAR AS I ALWAYS DO THE CAR DOORS LOCK WHEN PUT IN DRIVE. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE UNLOCKED AND WOULD NOT LOCK BACK. SINCE THEN THEY HAVE FAILED TO WORK. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE FOR THOSE WITH CHILDREN. THE FUSES AND RELAYS ARE ALL GOOD ON THE CAR IM ASSUMING IT IS THE ACTUATOR. WOULD DEFINITELY LIKE TO SEE A RECALL ON THESE LOCKS FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR CHILDREN AND OTHERS RIDING IN THESE SAME CONDITIONS DUE TO FAULTY LOCKS. *TR

THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V252000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL, EXTERIOR LIGHTING, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL); HOWEVER, THE PARTS NEEDED FOR THE REPAIRS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE DELAY. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
ON OR ABOUT JULY 1, 2014 I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM GM, SAFETY RECALL 14152, BUT WAS INFORMED THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE TO PERFORM THE RECALL SERVICE. SINCE THAT TIME I HAVE CALLED THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP, APPLE CHEVROLET IN TINLEY PARK, ILLINOIS (708) 336-3163, WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, ON TWO OCCASIONS AND WAS INFORMED THE PART IS STILL NOT AVAILABLE. TODAY, DURING MY CALL TO THE DEALERSHIP TO AGAIN CHECK ON THE STATUS OF THE PART, AFTER BEING INFORMED THE PART IS STILL NOT AVAILABLE, I WAS DIRECTED TO CALL GENERAL MOTORS DIRECTLY AND WAS GIVEN THE NUMBER 1-800-222-1020. AFTER SPEAKING TO THE REPRESENTATIVE AT GENERAL MOTORS, [XXX], AND GIVING THE LAST EIGHT DIGITS OF MY VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER, I WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART IS AVAILABLE. GM IS SAYING THE PART IS AVAILABLE AND MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP IS SAYING THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME? WHEN VEHICLE WAS PLACED IN PARK, THE AUTO UNLOCK FEATURE ACTIVATED UNLOCKING THE DOORS, BUT I COULD NOT REMOVE KEYS FROM IGNITION, (IGNITION WAS IN OFF POSITION). I ATTEMPTED TO RESTART CAR AND KEY WOULD NOT TURN TO THE START POSITION, AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO START, IGNITION FINALLY MOVED TO START POSITION. NOW THE AUTO LOCKS ARE CONSTANTLY TRYING TO UNLOCK EVEN WHEN LOCKS ARE IN UNLOCK POSITION. THIS HAPPENS WITH VEHICLE RUNNING IN PARK AND NOT RUNNING IN PARK WITH NO KEYS IN IGNITION AND MOVING DOWN ROAD. WARNING CHIME CONSTANTLY DINGING BUT NO MESSAGE OR INDICATOR LIGHT IS DISPLAYED. REMOVED FUSE FOR POWER LOCKS PROBLEM WITH LOCKS STOPS (WELL SURE IT DOES, NO POWER TO LOCKS) BUT THE WARNING CHIME STILL IS ACTIVATED BUT NO IDIOT LIGHT ON OR MESSAGE DISPLAYED. VERY FRUSTRATING WITH THIS JUNK GM PRODUCT. *TR
POWER DOOR LOCKS WILL NOT WORK THEY MAKE THE NOISE AND CLICK BUT DO NOT TAKE ACTION TO LOCK OR UNLOCK.THIS IS VERY INCONVENIENT HAVING KIDS AND HAVING TO REACH ALL THROUGHOUT THE CAR TO LOCK OR UNLOCK DOORS . PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE. *TR
STARTED BACK IN JUNE, CAR STARTED NOT TO PICK UP SPEED WHEN GAS PEDAL PRESS. TODAY WAS THE WORST, DRIVING ON MY WAY FROM SCHOOL TO PICK UP MY CHILDREN FROM DAYCARE, MY CAR STARTED JUMPING AND CAR MONITOR STATED NO TRACTION, TRACTION OFF, ENG POWER REDUCED, I WORK FULL TIME AND GOING TO SCHOOL AND HAVE TO KIDS, I CAN NOT AFFORD TO BE WITHOUT A VEHICLE. I NEED A RESPONSE ASAP, A CAR RENTAL OR A REPLACEMENT, I MAKE CAR PAYMENTS EVERY MONTH, AND MY CAR IS NOT RELIABLE AND I BELIEVE IS BECAUSE OF THE RECALL, WHICH IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO FIX. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE SHIFT CABLE WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS MADE AWARE OF RECALL NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 12V460000 (POWER TRAIN). HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED ON THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,480.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE MASTER DOOR LOCK OR THE KEY FOB WAS USED, THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WOULD NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK HAD TO BE LOCKED OR UNLOCKED MANUALLY. THE DEALER RE-PROGRAMMED THE REMOTE, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,700.
SOMEONE FOLLOWING ME TO WORK INFORMED ME MY BRAKE LIGHTS WERE ON AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY BUT WHEN I STOPPED AT THE STREET LIGHT, THEY WOULD GO OFF. NOW MY ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND THE WARNING TO SERVICE MY TRACTION CONTROL AND ESC SYSTEM IS ON. THE CRUISE CONTROL ISN'T WORKING PROPERLY ALL THE TIME. I GOOGLED THE BRAKE LIGHT ISSUE AND FOUND A RECALL FOR MY YEAR OF CAR THAT CAN CAUSE MY OTHER ISSUES. I CALLED GM AND WAS TOLD BY [XXX] THAT MY CAR IS INCLUDED IN THIS AND TRANSFERRED ME TO THE NEAREST DEALER TO MAKE AN APPT FOR MY CAR REPAIRS. THE DEALER SAID THERE ISN'T A RECALL FOR THESE ISSUES BUT I AM UNDER A RECALL FOR THE POWER STEERING RECALL! THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS BUT I CAN KEEP CALLING AND CHECKING . I THEN CALLED GM BACK SPOKE TO [XXX] WHO ADVISED THERE ISN'T A RECALL FOR THE BRAKE LIGHT YET . IT IS UPCOMING SOON THEY ARE IN THE FIRST STAGE OF THIS . NO TIME FRAME WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN. I ASKED WHAT DO I DO IN THE MEANTIME WITH THIS UNSAFE CAR. SHE SAID I CAN GET IT FIXED AT MY EXPENSE. I QUESTIONED IF I WOULD BE REIMBURSED ONCE THEY ISSUE THE RECALL. SHE ANSWERED NO PROMISE THEY WILL. LATER THAT DAY THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE MANAGER CALLED SAYING GM TOLD HIM TO CALL ME! WE COULD MAKE AN APPT TO CHECK MY CAR, PAY OUT OF POCKET , KEEP RECEIPT , AND IF THE RECALL INCLUDES MY PARTS, I WILL BE REIMBURSED OR I CAN TRY TO HOLD OUT FOR RECALL. I AM BEYOND FRUSTRATED. I'M UNDER AN ACTIVE RECALL BUT NO PART TO FIX IT AND THIS OTHER IN BEGINNING STAGES. THIS LIGHT ISSUE HAPPENED TO ME IN OCTOBER 2013. I BOUGHT A NEW BRAKE SWITCH, HAD IT REPLACED BY A CERTIFIED MECHANIC. NOW MONTHS LATER I HAVE THE SAME BRAKE LIGHT ISSUE BUT ALSO MY CRUISE CONTROL, ESC WARNING AND TRACTION CONTROL. THE BEST PART WHEN I ASKED [XXX] AT GM WHAT IF I AM IN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE YOU ARE DRAGGING THIS OUT. SHE REPLIED YOU SHOULD CALL US BACK AFTER YOUR ACCIDENT. THE BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON WITH MY FOOT OFF OF THE BRAKE PEDAL. WHEN I DO APPLY THE BRAKES THE BRAKE LIGHTS GO OUT. THE CRUISE CONTROL AND THE STABILITY CONTROL WILL NOT WORK. I HAVE HAD TO DRIVE MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THEM TO RELEASE MY KEY FROM THE IGNITION A COUPLE TIME AND NEVER THOUGHT ANYTHING OF IT, BUT IN JUNE THE BEGINNING THE KEY WOULDN'T COME OUT. SO I CALLED THE DEALER TO FIND OUT I HAD TO REPLACE THE IGNITION SWITCH ALONE WITH MY SHIFT THAT COST ME 884.00 DOLLARS. THEY CLAIM NO WARRANTIES. I CALLED CHEVROLET TO FIND THERE WAS RECALL,BUT IT WAS DONE JUST BEFORE I PURCHASE THE CAR IN 2009. BUT IT KIND OF BIZARRE THE KEY WAS STILL GETTING STUCK IF IT WAS REPLACE. IS THERE ANY WAY YOU CAN HELP ME TO RESOLVE THIS SITUATION. I AM CONCERN WHY THIS WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACE,BECAUSE IF CONTINUE TO REPLACE WOULDN'T MEAN IT STILL A DEFEAT PART. PLEASE HELP. *TR

THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS HAVE FAILED IN THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AND THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR. THE DOOR LOCKS DO NOT OPERATE OR ONLY OPERATE INTERMITTENTLY WHEN USING THE ELECTRONIC DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK FEATURE ON EITHER THE KEY FOB OR THE DOOR SWITCH. THE DOOR LOCKS ALSO DO NOT OPERATE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS SHIFTED INTO OR OUT OF PARK, POTENTIALLY LEAVING THE DOORS EITHER UNLOCKED WHILE THE VEHICLE IS OPERATING OR LOCKED AFTER THE VEHICLE IS SHIFTED INTO PARK. THE BIGGEST CONCERN WITH THE LOCKS IS IN THE PLACEMENT OF THE MANUAL PULL ON THE REAR DOORS. I HAVE 2 SMALL CHILDREN IN CHILD SEATS THAT HAVE BEEN TEMPORARILY LOCKED IN THE VEHICLE WHEN THE REAR DOORS FAIL TO UNLOCK. THE REAR DOOR LOCK PULL IS LOCATED NEAR THE "C" PILLAR OF THE VEHICLE INSTEAD OF A MORE CONVENTIONAL "B" PILLAR LOCATION, MAKING MANUAL ACCESS TO THE DOOR LOCK PULL IMPOSSIBLE FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. IF THE PASSENGER IN INCAPABLE OF UNLOCKING THE DOOR THEMSELVES (SUCH AS IN THE CASE OF SMALL CHILDREN OR THE DISABLED) ANOTHER PERSON HAS TO EITHER CLIMB OVER THE FRONT SEATS OR ACROSS THE REAR SEAT FROM THE DRIVERS SIDE TO ACCESS THE PASSENGER AND/OR DOOR LOCK PULL TO UNLOCK THE DOOR. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD FOR CERTAIN VEHICLE OCCUPANTS AS WELL AS FOR THE VEHICLE OPERATOR, WHO MAY BELIEVE THAT THE VEHICLES DOORS ARE IN A LOCKED POSITION WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, WHEN IN FACT, THEY MAY NOT BE.

MY WIFE AND I WERE TRAVELING ON INTERSTATE 40 GOING AROUND 75-80 MPH WHEN THE CRUISE CONTROL DISABLED BY ITSELF. I COULD NOT GET IT TO ENGAGE AND NOTICED THE TAIL LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE ONLY WAY THEY WOULD GO OFF WAS TO APPLY A LITTLE PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE CRUISE CONTROL WILL STILL NOT WORK AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE STAYING ILLUMINATED. ALSO WHEN BRAKING AT HIGH SPEEDS THE ENTIRE CAR OCCASIONALLY SHAKES AND DOES NOT BRAKE PROPERLY. I HAVE BEEN FORTUNATE ENOUGH THAT I HAVE NOT NEEDED TO APPLY THE BRAKES IN SUCH A MANNER TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. *TR

AIR BAG MODULE IS NOT WORKING ACCORDING TO DEALER. THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND DID NOT GO OFF. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ITEM AND SHOULD GOOD FOR THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE. OWNERS SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR. *JS
THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE STEERING THAT CAUSE THE CRUISE CONTROL TO ACCELERATE WHILE DRIVING, THERE IS ISSUES WITH BRAKING IN THE, THE TRANSMISSION IS STICKING OR NOT ALWAYS WORKING, AND THE CAR SHAKES OR REQUIRES YOU TO FORCE TURN IT AT LOW SPEEDS LIKE UP EXIST RAMPS. DURING RESEARCH OF THE DASHBOARD MESSAGE, WE LEARNED THAT THE VEHICLE PERFORMANCE MAY CONTINUE TO DETERIORATE POTENTIALLY DYING WHILE IN OPERATION. WE HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED THAT. FURTHER WE LEARNED THAT THERE IS A RECALL ISSUED 5/14/14, NUMBER 103518, CALLED ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL. THERE ARE SEVERAL OTHER RECALLS FOR THIS MAKE AND MODEL WITH TECHNICAL DETAILS NOTING A FIX TO THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL AS THE SOLUTION - ALL ISSUED ON 5/14/14. HOWEVER, UPON INQUIRY OF GENERAL MOTORS, THEY NOTED OUR VIN WAS NOT AFFECTED BY THE ISSUE NOTED IN THE RECALL. WE ARE CONCERNED THAT THE RECALLED VINS MAY NOT BE A COMPLETE LIST AS WE ARE CLEARLY EXPERIENCING THE ISSUE. THE RECALL NOTES THAT THE DEFECT INCREASES RISK OF A CRASH. I DROVE TO THE STORE PULLED IN THE PARKING SPACE AND TURNED OFF THE CAR. I IMMEDIATELY NOTICED SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THE SHIFTER. WHEN I WENT TO TRY TO TAKE THE KEY OUT IT WOULDN'T COME OUT. MY 2008 CHEVY MALIBU 2LT IS EXPERIENCING ISSUES WHERE IT BASICALLY LOSES POWER TO THE ENGINE. THE CODE THAT CAME UP IS P2135 AND THE MESSAGES WERE SERVICE TRACTION/SERVICE ESC/ENGINE POWER REDUCED. ONCE THE ENGINE IS SHUT DOWN, IT WON'T START UNTIL THE CODES ARE CLEARED. I WAS TRAVELING ON ROUTE 15 FROM VA TO MD. I STOPPED FOR GAS, GOT BACK ON THE HIGHWAY GOING AROUND 45 AND THE TIMING CHAIN BROKE WHICH DESTROYED THE MOTOR. THE MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE MOTOR SAID THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS PARTICULAR MOTOR AND GM WAS AWARE OF IT, BUT HAVE NOT ISSUED A RECALL.
