TAKATA RECALL MY 2008 CHEVY MALIBU GOT STUCK IN REVERSE WHEN I WAS BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT AND I FIXED IT WITH ZIP TIES BUT THE PLASTIC PIN THAT HOLDS MY SHIFTER TO MY TRANSMISSION GOT STUCK.

ALSO, THE POWER STEERING MALFUNCTIONED. THE DEALER (JIM PRICE CHEVROLET, 2150 SEMINOLE TRAIL, CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA 22901, (434) 260-8542) STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE FAILURES. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT FUEL WAS LEAKING FROM THE TOP OF THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. A FEW WEEKS AGO MY WIFE WAS DRIVING HERE 2008 MALIBU AND SHE SMELLED A SLIGHT BURNING AND VERY STRONG CHEMICAL ODOR IN THE CAR, SHORTLY AFTER THAT THE SERVICE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON FOR THE AIR BAG SYSTEM. WINDOWS HAD TO BE OPENED FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE 30 MINUTE TRIP. SOMETIME LATER MY WIFE REMOVED SOMETHING FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AND NOTICE A COLOR CHANGE TO CIRCULAR PALE YELLOW WITH A CENTRAL CHARRED MARK IN PART OF THE COVER MATERIAL, UPON TOUCHING SEAT COVER MATERIAL DISINTEGRATED AND DISAPPEARED INTO THE SEAT. A PICTURE IS ATTACHED OF THE PASSENGER SEAT. LATER I INVESTIGATED THE SERVICE LIGHT AND FOUND B0081 SYMPTOM 71 WAS SET. I BELIEVE THE SEAT SENSOR SHORTED OUT CAUSING THE SEAT COVER AND FOAM TO SMOLDER POSSIBLY ON ITS WAY TO AN OPEN FLAME BEFORE THE POWER SOURCE FAILED. THE VIN NUMBER [XXX]. FRONT END WAS WRECK, DAUGHTER LIP BUSTED , NO AIRBAG EXPLODE
BRAKE LIGHTS REMAINED ILLUMINATED EVEN IF BRAKE PEDAL WAS NOT PUSHED, BOTH WHILE STATIONARY AND IN MOTION. TRACTION CONTROL WAS DISABLED WHILE IN MOTION. BODY CONTROL MODULE WAS MALFUNCTIONING AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. BRAKE LIGHTS REMAINED ILLUMINATED ON ALL ROADS, IN ALL CONDITIONS, AND AT ALL TIMES. TRACTION CONTROL WAS DISABLED PRIMARILY ON CITY STREETS BUT SOMETIMES ON HIGHWAYS. THE CHEVROLET DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID THE CAUSE WAS A MALFUNCTIONING BODY CONTROL MODULE AND HAD TO REPLACE IT. THE PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR ARE THE SAME AS THOSE IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 14V252000, ALTHOUGH A SEARCH BY VIN REVEALS NO OUTSTANDING RECALLS. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY UNDERGOING REPAIR AND I WILL HAVE REPAIR INVOICES AFTER THE REPAIRS ARE COMPLETED. *TR
TAKATA RECALL I LOST CONTROL OF MY 08 CHEVY MALIBU AS IT WAS IN MOTION. DRIVING TO SCHOOL THE ABS, BRAKE, TRACTION CONTROL AND BATTERY LIGHT TURNED ON AND THE POWER STEERING LOCKED. I HAD TO FORCEFULLY TURN THE STEERING WHEEL TO GET OUT OF TRAFFICS WAY AND PARK SOMEWHERE TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE EXTERIOR HEADLAMPS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED ON FOUR OCCASIONS WITHIN APPROXIMATELY TWO YEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE HEADLAMPS WHERE DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED EACH TIME BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000.
I WAS TURNING RIGHT AT ABOUT 20 MPH, THE NORMAL SPEED I TURN AT. MY MALIBU SLID AND I COULDN'T TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. THE CAR BEEPED AT ME AND IT SAID ESC ON THE DASH COMPUTER. I CALLED ABOUT THE RECALL FOR EPS, AND MY CAR DOES NOT HAVE ONE. KIND OF WEIRD TO SEE WHEN OTHERS ARE RECALLED FOR THIS ISSUE. I DID HAVE THE POWER STEERING TORQUE REPLACED IN 2015. THE CAR IS STILL DRIVABLE, BUT TO ME I FEEL UNSAFE BECAUSE THE STEERING WHEEL NOW HAS A MIND OF ITS OWN WHEN TURNING, AND I CANNOT AFFORD A REPLACEMENT RIGHT NOW, AS WELL AS AN ACCIDENT.
WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE AT A COMPLETE STOP, THE CAR WILL NOT GO -- IT SEEMS TO STALL. WHEN THE CAR TRIES TO SHIFT FROM 3RD TO 4TH GEAR, THE RPM'S INCREASE VERY HIGH AND THE CAR WILL NOT SHIFT UNTIL I RELEASE MY FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR. ONCE IT SHIFTS, IT WILL MAINTAIN SPEED.

THE DEALER COMPLETED THE RECALL REPAIR, BUT THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING SEVERAL TIMES MONTHS LATER. THE CONTACT TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON TO RESET THE COMPUTER, BUT THE FAILURE PROGRESSED. THE CONTACT WAS TO CHECK WITH THE MANUFACTURER TO DETERMINE IF THEY MAY BE ABLE TO PROVIDE A REPAIR SOLUTION. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,101.
ENGINE POWER REDUCED MESSAGE APPEARS WHILE VEHICLE IS RUNNING AND THE ENGINE IMMEDIATELY STOPS AND VEHICLE STALLS AFTER A VERY SHORT PERIOD BARELY ENOUGH TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. IF THE IGNITION IS TURNED OFF AND TURNED ON AGAIN, THE VEHICLE STARTS FINE. THIS PATTERN REPEATS RANDOMLY AT VARIOUS SPEEDS AND EVEN WHEN IT WAS STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION ESPECIALLY ON THE HIGHWAYS. DEALER CHECK REVEALED THAT IT WAS ENGINE CONTROL MODULE THAT GOT SHORTED AND NEEDS A REPLACEMENT. THE PART IS BACK ORDERED, WHICH INDICATES THAT THERE ARE MULTIPLE VEHICLES HAVING THE SAME ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE STEERING COLUMN MADE AN ABNORMAL KNOCKING NOISE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CONTROL ARMS, INNER AND OUTER TIE RODS, SWAY BAR LINKS, BALL JOINTS, FRONT SHOCKS AND THE AXLE WERE ALL REPLACED ON THE VEHICLE; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14E044000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. MY STEERING WHEEL SHAKING/VIBRATING WHILE IN PARK, IN MOTION AND WHILE TURNING. WAS A RECALL ON IT. UNFORTUNATELY I BOUGHT THE CAR IN 2015 AND CAN ONLY FIND THAT THE RECALL WAS SUPPOSEDLY DONE. NO ONE CAN TELL ME WHERE, AND I LOOKED ONLINE AND FIND THAT THESE ELECTRICAL POWER ASSISTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED AND STILL YET FAILED AGAIN. CALLED CHEVROLET AND THEY WILL DO NOTHING--MY CASE FOR MY CAR "HAS BEEN CLOSED OUT"...THEREFORE IT WILL BE $700.00 OUT OF MY POCKET. IS THERE ANY WAY TO BE SURE A RECALL WAS DONE AND/OR FIND OUT IF THE PARTS THEY REPLACED WERE ALSO DEFECTIVE? STARTED ACTING UP IN AUG./SEPT AND HAS WORSENED IN THE LAST MONTH. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY FORCE TO THE STEERING WHEEL IN ORDER TO STEER THE VEHICLE. "POWER STEERING" WAS DISPLAYED ACROSS THE MESSAGE BOARD. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V153000 (STEERING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 159,127.
ON SUNDAY 08/07/2016 MY 2008 MALIBU FAILED TO START. AFTER TESTING THE BATTERY AND STARTER, IT WAS DETERMINED BY NTB IN CHARLESTON SC THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH HAD FAILED. I CALLED SEVERAL CHEVROLET DEALERS EARLY ON 08/08/2016 TO SEE IF THEY COULD REPAIR UNDER RECALL WARRANTY. THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT HELP ME THE SAME DAY, AND MY CAR IS STRANDED FAR FROM HOME. IF NTB IS ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM SO THAT I CAN DRIVE MY CAR BACK HOME, I STRONGLY BELIEVE GM SHOULD REIMBURSE ME FOR THE COST OF REPAIRS AND TOWING.
I WAS PARKING MY CAR AND I PROCEEDED TO PUT MY CAR IN REVERSE "R" BUT THE GEAR CONTROL WOULD NOT STAY LOCKED INTO POSITION, NOR WOULD THE CAR REVERSE. IT WAS MOVING FREELY BETWEEN GEARS BUT WOULD NOT LOCK INTO POSITION. I THEN PLACED THE GEAR CONTROL BACK INTO PARK "P" WHERE IT WOULD STAY PUSH THE EMERGENCY BRAKE DOWN AND TURNED THE CAR OFF. WHEN THE TOW COMPANY ARRIVED HE MANUALLY PUT THE CAR "SHIFT CABLE" BACK WHERE IT NEEDED TO GO IN ORDER FOR THE CAR THE GEAR CONTROL TO FUNCTION PROPERLY, BUT ONCE AGAIN IT WOULD NOT STAY INTO PLACE. THANKFULLY I WAS IN A PARKING LOT WHEN THIS OCCURRED, BUT THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, BECAUSE IF THE CAR WERE TO STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AND THE SHIFTER CABLE CAME LOOSE I WOULD HAVE NO WAY OF PUTTING THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL OR ANYTHING TO GET THE CAR TO A SAFE PLACE. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO MY MECHANIC AND HE WAS ABLE TO PARTIALLY RECTIFY THE SITUATION.
TOOK VEHICLE TO LOCAL DEALERSHIP BECAUSE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE NOT WORKING. THEY INFORMED ME THAT VEHICLE HAD A RECALL ON THE BRAKE PEDAL POSITION SWITCH SYSTEM. THEY PERFORMED THE RECALL. BRAKE LIGHTS WORKED FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS, THEN QUIT WORKING AGAIN. THEY THEN INFORMED ME THAT SINCE THE RECALL WAS ALREADY COMPLETED THAT THIS REPAIR WOULD BE OUT OF POCKET. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE BODY CONTROL MODULE WAS DEFECTIVE AND I WOULD NEED TO REPLACE THIS. I PURCHASED THE MODULE, HAD GM DEALERSHIP PROGRAM IT AND THEY REPLACED THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH ALSO. NOW THE BRAKE LIGHTS ONLY WORK UNDER HARD BRAKING. THEY HAVE RECALIBRATE DO THE BRAKE PEDAL POSITION SENSOR NUMEROUS TIMES. THE LIGHTS WILL WORK AS SHOULD UNTIL VEHICLE IS PARKED FOR 2 HOURS OR MORE, THEN THEY START ONLY WORKING UNDER HARD BRAKING CONDITIONS. RECALIBRATE THE SENSOR AND THEY WORK FINE UNTIL VEHICLE SITS PARKED

I HAVE HAD THE TRANSMISSION TOTALLY LOCK UP AND SOUND LIKE BRAKING PLACTIC,HAD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. DASHBOAD LIGHTS EITHER DO NOT WORK OR FLICKER. FAST FLASHING AS IF A BULB IS OUT THAN IT FIXES ITSELF. NUMBERS RUNNING ACROSS THE RADIO SCREEN THAN STOPS.
JUST TOOK POSSESSION OF A 2008 CHEVY MALIBU LTZ V6 3.6 WITH ON 36K ORIGINAL MILES ON IT. HAVE HAD FOR ONLY 5 DAYS AND GOT A DASH NOTIFICATION OF CHECK ESC SOON, TRACTION CONTROL, ENG POWER REDUCED WARNING WITH THE CHECK ENGINE SYMBOL. I PULLED IN MY DRIVEWAY HOME FROM WORK AND IMMEDIATELY NOTIFIED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP. BACKED OUT OF DRIVEWAY TO TAKE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND HAD NO POWER TO GO ANYWHERE SO PULLED BACK IN DRIVE AND SHUT THE CAR OFF TO GO INSIDE MY HOUSE, CAME BACK OUT TURN THE CAR BACK ON AND PUT IN REVERSE, ALL SEEMED FIND WITH POWER, THEN PROCEEDED ON TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH NO POWER FAILURE, BUT ENGINE LIGHT STAYED ON. WITH ONLY 36K MILES AND LOTS OF REVIEWS I AM READING ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THIS PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE AND RECURRING THAT NO ONE CAN SEEM TO FIND A FIX FOR. HOW MANY COMPLAINTS BEFORE THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE. I TRAVEL OUT OF TOWN AT LEAST TWO WEEKENDS A MONTH AND BEING A SINGLE FEMALE I CANNOT AFFORD TO GET STRANDED AND CAUSE A WRECK DUE TO POWER FAILURE. SERIOUSLY WHEN DOES THIS PROBLEM GET RECOGNIZED AND CORRECTED TO SAVE A LIFE.

THE HEADLIGHTS WEBT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING. EVER SINCE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE MY HEADLIGHTS HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS.
BOUGHT MY CAR 3 MONTHS AGO FROM A CHEVY DEALERSHIP, 3 DAYS LATER MY SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHTS CAME ON. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD I WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO GET IT FIXED, THEY SAID THAT MY AIRBAGS WOULD NOT DEPLOY IF THIS LIGHT WAS ON. WHY SHOULD I PAY FOR A SAFETY FEATURE THAT SHOULD NOT HAVE PROBLEMS? ITS LIKE SELLING A CAR WITH A PASSENGER SEATBELT ONLY. I DO NOT FEEL I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR MY AIRBAGS TO BE WORKED ON. WITH ALL OF THE RECALLS FOR AIRBAGS I THINK THEY MISSED MY YEAR MAKE AND MODEL. ITS REDICULOUS

TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE FRACTURED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. WAS ABLE TO MOVE SHIFTER IN VEHICLE BUT GEARS DID NOT CHANGE TO THAT WHICH WAS INDICATED. GM HAD A RECALL FOR THIS SPECIFIC ISSUE BUT FOR VEHICLES MANUFACTURED FROM MAY 16, 2003, THROUGH OCTOBER 5, 2007 (GM'S NUMBER FOR THIS RECALL IS 14152, NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V224000). MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED IN 2008 (AS INDICATED FROM THE VIN) BUT I FEEL THE SAME ISSUE FROM THIS GM RECALL ALSO AFFECTED MY VEHICLE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,111.
THE POWER DOOR LOCKS STOPPED WORKING ON ALL BUT THE REAR, RIGHT PASSENGER DOOR. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN WHEN IT INVOLVES YOUNG CHILDREN RIDING IN THE BACK SEAT, OR ELDERLY WHO FIND IT DIFFICULT TO MANUALLY UNLOCK THE DOOR. I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY COMPLAINTS IT TAKES TO TRIGGER A RECALL, BUT THERE APPEARS TO BE SEVERAL HUNDRED ALREADY ON FILE. PLEASE REALIZE THAT THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE.

HEADLIGHTS CONTINUOUSLY GO OUT. I HAVE OWNED THE CAR FOR 5 YEARS AND HAVE REPLACED THE LIGHTS ABOUT 4 TIMES BUT THE BULB HAS NEVER BURNED OUT ON ME THE LIGHT JUST QUITS WORKING. USED TO BE THE PASSENGER SIDE ONLY AND EVERY NOW AND THEN IF I HIT A BUMP OR HIT THE LIGHT MYSELF IT WOULD FLICKER BACK ON. NOW THE DRIVER SIDE LIGHT HAS REFUSED TO WORK FOR A YEAR NOW. PURCHASED A USED 2008 CHEVROLET MALIBU. VERY SHORTLY AFTER I COULD NOTICE A STRONG ODOR OF GAS COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AFTER DRIVING IT. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC WHO REMOVED THE FUEL TANK AND DISCOVERED THAT A PLASTIC FEED LINE ON TOP OF THE FUEL PUMP MODULE HAD A SEVERE LEAK. I CONTACTED GM IN REGARD TO THE FACT THAT THIS SPECIFIC ISSUE HAS BEEN RECALLED ON THE EXACT SAME YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL AS MY VEHICLE. I WAS TOLD THAT MY VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL WAS OFFERED NO ADDITIONAL RESOLUTION OR SUPPORT. MY CONCERN IS THAT THE ONLY VEHICLES COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY WERE THOSE BOUGHT AND SOLD OR REGISTERED IN "WARM WEATHER" STATES, BUT KENTUCKY HAS 100 DEGREES VERY HUMID SUMMERS. IT'S IS CONSIDERED PART OF THE SOUTH , A REGION KNOWN FOR BEING VERY HOT IN THE SUMMER. ADDITIONALLY THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR AND REAR PASSENGER DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR DO NOT WORK UNDER POWER. HOWEVER, BECAUSE OF THE SUDDEN LOSS OF STEERING ABILITY, CRASHES ARE IMMINENT AND THEREFORE IT IS A STRONG SAFETY ISSUE. VEHICLE MILEAGE IS 113,000. MALIBU'S WARRANTY UNDER HERB CONNOLLY AS SAME PLACE WHERE THE INSPECTION STICK. I NEED YOUR ADVISE ON AS HOW TO HANDLE WITH THIS SITUATION WITH HERB CONNOLLY AND TELL THEM THAT THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR COVER REPAIR COST.

ON 1/08/15 THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM YET AGAIN FAILED AND THIS TIME THIS POWER STEERING FAILURE CAUSED THE CAR TO GO INTO THE DITCH AND THROUGH A BARB WIRE FEANCE. THIS HAS BEEN A ONGOING PROBLEM WITH MY CAR AND GENERAL MOTORS DOES NOT SEEM TO HAVE SOME KIND OF FIX OR DOES NOT WANT TO ADMIT THERE CAR HAS THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE THE DOCUMENTS FROM THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS SOPOSED TO BE FIXED ON 12/30/15.
BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD BE ON WHEN NOT APPLYING BRAKES AND BRAKES LIGHTS WOULD NOT COME ON WHEN APPLYING BRAKES - ESC AND SERVICE TRACTION INDICATORS REMAINED ON. ON THE WAY TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM REPAIR FOR THE 3RD TIME, THE ENGINE LOSS POWER WHILE I WAS DRIVING APPROX 75MPH ON AN EXTREMELY BUSY INTERSTATE. ONE OF THE SCARIEST MOMENTS OF MY ENTIRE LIFE. PULLED OVER, PUT THE CAR IN PARK & THEN IS SHUTOFF. THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AT THE SAME TIME AS THE REDUCED ENGINE POWER WARNING. AFTER WAITING AWHILE, I RESTARTED THE CAR AND WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE DEALERSHIP. SERVICE TECH SAID THE BRAKE LIGHTS WORKED FIND - HE HAD NO EVIDENCE THAT THEY WERE STAYING ON. HE SAID THE ESC & TRACTION WAS RELATED TO THE REDUCED ENGINE POWER & I NEEDED TO HAVE THE THROTTLE BODY REPLACED - $550. HAD THE THROTTLE BODY REPLACED AND DRIVING HOME-APPROX 30 MINS LATER-THE CAR STARTS DOING WEIRD IDLE THINGS. IN PARK THE RPM HAND FLUCUATED BETWEEN 1.5-2 AND THEN OUT OF NOWHERE 3.0-IN PARK, NOT APPLYING GAS OR BRAKES. I HAD TO APPLY BRAKES AND PUT THE CAR IN GEAR TO MAKE IT STOP. WHEN I RELEASED THE BRAKES AT THE STOPLIGHT-NOT APPLYING GAS-CAR ACCELERATED TO 20 MPH ON IT'S OWN. CALLED DEALERSHIP BACK-THEY IMPLIED IT WAS MY FAULT FOR LEAVING THE LOT IF SOMETHING WAS WRONG. THE ONLY THING THAT THE CAR DID BEFORE LEAVING DEALERSHIP WAS FOR APPROX 5 SECS IT WAS A TAD BE LOUDER THAN NORMAL WHEN I STARTED THE ENGINE. THE OTHER PROBLEMS DID NOT PRESENT UNTIL AFTER I WAS SEVERAL MILES AWAY (INTERSTATE) AND MORE SO WHEN I WAS OFF THE INTERSTATE WHERE THERE WAS MORE SLOWING, STOPPING, ETC. I PARKED AFTER MY CONCERN INCREASED. TURNED THE CAR AND THEN RESTARTED AFTER A PERIOD-THAT IS WHEN IT IDLED UP TO 3.0 RPMS IN PARK-PEOPLE WALKING BY LOOKED AT ME STRANGE AS IF I WAS SITTING IN THE PARKED CAR JUST PRESSING THE GAS-NOT. I AM JUST AS TERRIFIED TO DRIVE THE CAR TONIGHT AS I WAS BEFORE IT WAS REPAIRED EARLIER TODAY.
