CAR WHEN STARTED STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP ALL THE LIGHTS START FLASHING, LOCKS START TO UNLOCK AND LOCK THEMSELVES. ENGINE LINES COMES ON HARD TO MOVE FORWARD OR BACKWARDS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE ENGINE POWER REDUCTION, THE TRACTION CONTROL AND THE ESC WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHEN EXCELLERATING FROM A SITTING POSITION THE ENGINE DOESN'T EXCELLERATE AT THE SAME TIME. THERE IS HESITATION FROM STEPPING ON THE GAS TO ACTUALLY MOVING AND ONCE THE EXCELLERATION KICKS IN THE CAR PROPELLED QUITE FAST ALMOST LIKE A STICKY CHOKE.
THIS PAST FALL MY LOW TIRE AIR LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK MY CAR INTO FREE TIRE SERVICE WHICH IS A REPUTABLE TIRE COMPANY. IT IS WHERE I PURCHASED MY TIRES ALONG WITH A TIRE PROTECTION PLAN. THEY SAID THAT MY RIMS(WHICH CAME STOCK ON THE CAR FROM THE DEALERSHIP) ARE CORRODING MY TIRES AND THEY COULD TEMPORARILY FIX THEM WITH A SEALANT. THEY SAID THE SEALANT COULD LAST FOR YEARS OR ONLY A MONTH; THERE WAS NO WAY TO KNOW. A FEW MONTHS HAVING THE SEALANT PUT ON (THIS PAST SATURDAY), I WAS ON MY WAY OUT OF TOWN TO KNOXVILLE (A 2 HOUR DRIVE FROM HOME) AND MY LOW TIRE AIR LIGHT CAME ON WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE. I HAD TO PULL OVER OFF THE INTERSTATE AND MY TIRE WAS ALMOST FLAT. NOT ONLY DID THIS ALMOST CAUSE ME TO BE LATE FOR AN APPOINTMENT, BUT IT COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THIS TIME I THOUGHT I WOULD REACH OUT TO THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THE SAME THING ABOUT MY RIMS. MY FATHER OWNS A 2009 MALIBU AND HIS TIRES ARE NOT CORRODING. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW A COMPANY CHANGES THERE RIMS IN 2 YEARS. I THINK THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE OF THE WHEELS. IF THIS TYPE OF WHEEL IS CORRODING, DAMAGING TIRES THEN I COULD OF HAD A BLOWOUT CAUSING ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT ANYTIME. NEW TIRES WILL NOT SOLVE THIS PROBLEM EITHER. THE TIRES I HAVE ON MY CAR ARE STILL VERY GOOD TIRES. SO EVERY TIME I PUT NEW TIRES ON MY CAR, THIS IS GOING TO BE AN ISSUE. THE ONLY WAY TO PERMANENTLY SOLVE THIS ISSUE IS TO GET NEW WHEELS ACCORDING TO THE LOCAL CHEVY DEALER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR BAGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 68,000.
I PURCHASED A 2011 CHEVY MALIBU IN 2012. SINCE THE PURCHASE I'VE EXPERIENCED ISSUES WITH THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM, THE SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT HAS COME ON WHILE MY DAUGHTER WAS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. I WAS TOLD THAT THE PROBLEM WITH THAT COULD POSSIBLY BE RESOLVED WITH THE RECALL FOR THE SEAT BELT LAP ANCHOR TENSIONER CABLE. I HAVE ALSO HAD ISSUES WITH THE CAR STALLING / LOSING POWER AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AND BEGIN TO ACCELERATE AGAIN INTO ON COMING TRAFFIC. I HAVE ALSO LOST TOTAL CONTROL DUE TO THE POWER STEERING GOING OUT WHILE DRIVING. WHEN I TOOK MY VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP REGARDING THE CAR STALLING, I WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT GET THE CAR TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND I LEFT WITHOUT ANYTHING ELSE BEING DON;. I STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR THIS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED. I ALSO HAVE A 2011 CHEVY CRUZE THAT I'VE HAD NUMEROUS ISSUES WITH, NOT TO MENTION ALL OF THE RECALLS ON IT. ALL OF THE ABOVE ISSUES HAVE BEEN WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION, WHILE TURNING, AND ON HIGHWAY AND CITY STREETS. I RECENTLY NOTICED THAT MY BACK SEAT IS LEAKING FROM SOMEWHERE. I CONTACTED GM AND WAS TOLD TO TAKE IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP. THE TECH AT THE DEALERSHIP TELLS ME THAT THE LEAK IS COMING FROM THE MOLDING ON THE ROOF OF THE CAR AND WANTED TO CHARGE ME $200 FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC AFTER I CLEARLY TOLD THEM THAT THE LEAK WAS NOT COMING FROM THE ROOF OF THE CAR. THEY TOOK DOWN THE HEADLINER ANYWAY AND SAID THAT THEY DID A TEST AND WATER COULD BE SEEN GUSHING FROM THIS AREA, BUT YET MY SEAT WAS NOT WET AS I HAD TOLD THEM WHERE THE SEAT GETS WET AT. THERE ARE SO MANY PROBLEMS WITH THESE MALIBU'S I JUST WANT GM TO TAKE THE CAR BACK SO THAT I CAN PURCHASE A DIFFERENT BRAND OF VEHICLE.
I WAS GOING ON A 3HR TRIP ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY, 40MIN INTO MY RIDE MY VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE. AS I CONTINUED TO DRIVE IT BEGAN PULLING TO THE RIGHT AND SHAKING TERRIBLY. 40MIN FROM MY FINAL DESTINATION MY CAR WAS SHAKING HORRIBLY AND IT FELT LIKE THE STEERING WHEEL HAD NO CONTROL OF THE TIRES. WHEN THE ROAD REARED TO EITHER THE RIGHT OR LEFT I HELD ONTO THE STEERING WHEEL VERY TIGHT AND IT FELT LIKE THE WHEELS WERE NOT TURNING IN THE DIRECTION THAT I WAS DRIVING. I WOULD DROP MY SPEED FROM 60MPH TO 40MPH, WHICH DID NOT RESULT IN A CHANGE. I AGREE THIS SHOULD DEFINITELY BE A RECALL, MYSELF ALONG WITH OTHERS COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED.
SLOSHING SOUND IN DASH. REPAIRS-WATER PUMP,THERMOSTAT AND THERMOSTAT HOUSING, $850.00 AUGUST 2015, LOSS POWER STEERING AND TRACTION. SDM(AIR BAG MODULE) REPLACED $965
RECEIVED MESSAGES OF: SERVICE ESC, SERVICE TRACTION, SERVICE POWER STEERING, ENG PWR REDUCED, ENGINE DISABLED THIS MORNING WHILE DRIVING TO WORK. ENGINE LOST ALL POWER, WENT INTO LIMP MODE, HAD TO PULL TO SIDE OF ROAD TO TRY AND TURN THE ENGINE OFF AND ON TO TRY TO RESET. NEARLY CAUSED ACCIDENT FROM ONCOMING AND TRAILING VEHICLES. THIS MAKE AND MODEL NEEDS TO BE ENTERED INTO THE RECALL.
1/26/2016 I GOT MY CAMSHAFT SOLENOID FIXED DUE TO MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON. WHEN IT STARTED TO SHAKE REAL BAD WITH THE DASH LIGHTS STATING THAT MY ENGINE POWER WAS REDUCED, LOSS OF TRACTION (SOMETHING TO THAT EFFECT) I INSTANTLY PUT IT IN THE SHOP. THEN LAST WEEK 3/4/2016 I WAS DRIVING UP TO ERIE, PA FROM OHIO, WHICH IS ABOUT 4.5 HOURS AWAY. I SAY A GOOD 40 MINUTES FROM MY DESTINATION IT HAPPENS AGAIN RIGHT ON THE HIGHWAY. ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND THE DASH SAYS THAT MY ENGINE POWER HAS BEEN REDUCED AND LOSS OF TRACTION (?). THANKFULLY THERE WAS AN EXIT NEAR THAT I COULD GET OFF AT AND AS SOON AS I PUT MY CAR IN PARK IT STARTED TO SHAKE REAL BAD. SO I DID WHAT I DID BEFORE AND TURNED THE CAR OFF TO LET IT RESET AND THEN STARTED IT BACK UP. IT RAN FINE FOR THE REMAINDER OF MY STAY UNTIL IT CAME TIME FOR ME TO LEAVE TO GO BACK HOME. THIS TIME I ONLY GOT 20 MINUTES AWAY FROM ERIE BEFORE IT STARTED ACTING UP AGAIN, BUT IT KEPT DOING IT. TALK ABOUT BEING FRUSTRATED 4.5 HOURS AWAY FROM HOME IN YOUR CAR. ESPECIALLY SINCE I JUST GOT IT FIXED NOT TOO LONG AGO. THIS NEEDS TO BE ON THE RECALL LIST, BECAUSE THIS IS RIDICULOUS.
LESS THAN TWO MONTHS AFTER MY 5 YEAR OR 100,000 MILE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY EXPIRED MY TRANSMISSION STOPPED WORKING. IT STARTED BY DRIVING SLOWLY WHILE PRESSING ON THE ACCELERATOR. I WAS ABLE TO PARK THE CAR AND WHEN I TRIED TO REVERSE OUT OF THE PARKING SPACE AND IT WOULD NOT GO INTO REVERSE. I HAD ONSTAR SO I HAD TO GET A TOW TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP WHICH HAD JUST CLOSED. I HAD TO WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT DAY AND THE DEALERSHIP CALLED ME TO TELL ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND IT WOULD COST ME $3,910.00. I HAVE READ SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SO I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY GM HAS NOT RECALLED THIS TRANSMISSION. MANY OF THEM FAILED BEFORE $100,000 MILES SO THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET A NEW ONE. I WAS JUST TWO MONTHS PAST MY 5 YEAR BUT WAS AT 98,273 MILES AND MY WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED. I HAD TO GET A NEW CAR SINCE I COULD NOT AFFORD TO PAY $4000.00 TO GET A NEW TRANSMISSION. THE CAR IS JUST SITTING AND CAN'T BE DRIVEN.
CAR INTERMITTENTLY LOSES POWER. WARNING LIGHT FOR TRACTION CONTROL COMES ON. MUST PULL OVER AND LET CAR SIT FOR A MINUTE BEFORE RESTARTING.
HIGHWAY DRIVEING SPEEDS OVER 50MPH STEERING IS EXTREAMLY LOOSE ON A TWO LANE ROAD WHEN BIGGER VEHICLES PASS THE AIR PUSHES MY CAR SO BAD I GET TERRIFIED IT WILL MAKE ME HIT A DITCH MY CAR IS LESS THEN A WEEK OLD TO ME. UNDER 70K MILES. EVEN REGULAR DRIVEING ON HIGHWAYS THE STEERING IS VERY LOOSE.

ENGINE LOST ALL POWER, HAD TO PULL TO SIDE OF ROAD TO TRY AND TURN THE ENGINE OFF AND ON, UNTIL I RECEIVED THE ENGINE DISABLED MESSAGE AND AFTER THAT THE CAR WOULD NOT START. HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO NEAREST DEALERSHIP.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD, MY CAR, OUT OF NOWHERE, BEGAN TO SHAKE AND THE ENGINE SUDDENLY LOST POWER. I IMMEDIATELY LOOKED DOWN AND NOTICED THE "ESC IS OFF" INDICATOR WAS ON. I PULLED OVER, PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND BEGIN PRESSING THE GAS TO KEEP IT FROM CUTTING OFF FOR FEAR IT MAY NOT START UP AGAIN. I DID THAT FOR ABOUT 3 MINUTES AND BEGAN MOVING AGAIN. I HAD TO DO THIS 3 TIMES ON MY WAY HOME. I WAS ABOUT 5 MILES FROM MY HOUSE AT THE TIME.
FIRST, I HAD TO JUMP THE CAR TO START IT. COLD MORNING BUT THE BATTERY WAS ONLY 3 MONTHS OLD. DRIVING FROM DOWNRIVER MI AREA ALL EXPRESSWAY TO GRAND RAPIDS. JUST ENTERED GRAND RAPIDS AREA WHEN I HAD TO REDUCE SPEED FROM 75 TO 60. CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE BACK TO ORIGINAL SPEED. CRUISE CONTROL HAD BEEN ENGAGED. PROBLEM RESOLVED ITSELF BUT 15 MINUTES LATER THE CAR WENT FROM 75 TO 25 MPH BY THE TIME I HAD EXITED THE FREEWAY AND STOPPED THE CAR. THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AND THE PEDAL WAS TO THE FLOOR. THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT WENT ON AS DID MESSAGES:REDUCED ENGINE POWER, SERVICE ESC, AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON. THE ENGINE LIGHT STAYED ON. I WAS ABLE TO TURN CAR BACK AND ACCELERATE BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYED ON AND THE ENGINE FELT LIKE IT CHUGGED A BIT. WHEN I STOPPED AT INTERSECTIONS, THE CAR FELT AS IF IT WANTED TO STALL. MILEAGE IS 88,258.
I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE ESC THE SERVICE ESC LIGHT KEEPS TURNING ON AND THE CAR STARTS TO JERK AND THEY SAY MINE ISN'T IN RECALL BUT OTHER CHEVY MALIBUS ARE FROM THE YEAR 2003-2012 I THI THEY NEED TO LOOK INTO THIS FURTHER BECAUSE MINE IS 2011 BUT NOT IN THE RECALL
SERVICE ESC, SERVICE TRACTION, ENG PWR REDUCED. THIS MESSAGE HAS HAPPENED TO ME SEVERAL TIMES LATELY, MOST NOTABLY WHEN TRAVELLING 70 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE. ENGINE LOSES ALL POWER NO MATER HOW FAR I PRESS THE ACCELERATOR.
NTSB: 2011 CHEVY MALIBU: CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED STEERING ISSUES, SO THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SERVICE. DURING SERVICE, THE CONSUMER WAS NOTIFIED THE PARTS IN QUESTION WERE DETERIORATING SEVERELY. *SS THE DEALER FOUND THE REAR TRAILING ARM BUSHINGS AND LOWER CONTROL ARM BUSHINGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED AND THE VEHICLE SHOOK VIOLENTLY. THE TRACTION AND SERVICE ESC WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 123,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY BROKE AFTER 74K MILES WHILE DRIVING AT ABOUT 20MI AN HOUR. IT WOULD JUMP INTO 3RD GEAR AND THEN WOULDN'T COME OUT OF 1ST GEAR. AFTER PULLING OVER REVERSE HAD ALREADY GONE OUT. THERE WERE NO PRIOR WARNINGS THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAD ANY PROBLEMS, THERE WERE NO INDICATORS THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAD PROBLEMS. AFTER THE TRANSMISSION BROKE I RAN ACROSS MANY OTHER CONSUMERS WHO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM ON THEIR 2011 MALIBU'S. ALL OF THEM ARE 4 CYLINDER 6 SPEEDS WITH AN MH8 TRANSMISSION.
WHILE I WAS DRIVING I LOST THE POWER STEERING ON THE VEHICLE. IT HAPPENED TWICE . THANK GOD THERE WAS NO TRAFFIC OTHER WISE I COULD HAVE HAD AN ACCIDENT.
GOING 70 MPH ON INTERSTATE GOING TO MPLS AND CAR FLASHES REDUCED ENGINE POWER AND SUDDENLY SLOWS DOWN PULLED OVER A TOTAL OF 8 TIMES TO GET HOME. HAD TO PULL OVER TURN CAR OFF WAIT A LITTLE WHILE START AGAIN AND CONTINUE. CHECK ENGINE STAYED ON. I'VE BEEN TOLD IT'S THE THROTTLE BODY SO I AM REPLACING AND HOPEFULLY ABLE TO GET TO WORK. THIS IS A DANGEROUS FLAW ON ICY ROADS.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE BODY SEAM OF MY 2011 CHEVY MALIBU WAS NOT PROPERLY SEALED. THIS ALLOWED WATER TO LEAK INTO MY ELECTRICAL PANEL CAUSE CORROSION TO ALL OF MY WIRING. I DETERMINED THIS AFTER DRIVING DOWN A HIGH WAY AT 60 MPH AND HAVING MY CAR DROP DOWN TO 10 MPH WITH SERVICE ENGINE LIGHTS, ENGINE POWER REDUCED WARNINGS ALL LIGHTING UP MY PANEL. IT HAD BEEN RAINING THAT DAY. I AM LUCKY THAT THE CAR BEHIND ME WAS FOLLOWING AN APPROPRIATE AMOUNT OF DISTANCE BEHIND ME. *TR
I DID HAVE A RECALL ON THE FRONT SEAT BELTS, NOT SURE IF THE SEATS WERE REMOVED. SINCE THEN THE DRIVERS SEAT FELT AS IF IT WAS CLOSER TO THE CENTER CONSOLE AND LEANING MORE TO THE RIGHT NOT TO MENTION A TOOL (BATTERY POWERED ANGLE DRIVER) WAS FOUND IN THE BACK LEFT SEAT LATER AND RETURNED TO MCDERMOTT. MY SEAT IS LEANING MORE AND MORE AS TIME PASSES AND I WENT TO THE REAR SEAT TO LOOK AT THE DRIVERS SEAT AND THE RIGHT SIDE MOUNTED TO THE FLOOR RAIL IS LIFTING UP? I THE SPOKE WITH CHEVROLET DIRECT ONLINE AND WAS TOLD IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. I HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY BUT THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. CAN YOU IMAGINE IF I WAS TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT AND ME THE SEAT WITH MY SEAT BELT ON WENT THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE FIXED AND MY SEAT IS ALSO DAMAGED FROM THE MOVEMENT, LEATHER SEAT. THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE MADE A LOUD SQUEALING NOISE COMING FROM THE EXTERIOR BODY OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BE REPAIRED BUT THE DEALER COULD NOT REPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000.
THE OTHER DAY MY 2011 CHEVY MALIBU STARTED TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE COMING OUT OF A PARKING LOT AND THEN AGAIN WHILE DRIVING ON A TWO LANE ROAD. THIS ISSUE WAS FRIGHTENING BECAUSE I COULDN'T PROPERLY STOP THE CAR AND ALMOST GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT. THE DISPLAY INDICATED REDUCED ENGINE POWER/TRACTION/SERVICE ESC AND THE OBD2 CODES INDICATED P2135 (THROTTLE/PEDAL POSITION SENSOR/SW A/B VOLTAGE CORRELATION). THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY. I HOPE THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN AGAIN BECAUSE THE NEXT TIME I MAY NOT BE SO LUCKY IN GETTING OUT OF THIS PREDICAMENT UNSCATHED.
THE CAR STUMBLES ON DRY ROADS IN SHARP TURNS, LIKE CLOVER LEAF RAMPS GETTING ON AND OFF THE INTERSTATE, WHEN COASTING OR BRAKING AT 20-25 MPH. THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM, BUT THERE DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE A SOLUTION FROM THE DEALER. I'M CONCERNED THAT THIS MAY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.
DRIVERS SEAT IS BROKEN AND LEANING TO THE RIGHT SIDE. SEEMS LIKE A BRACKET PROBLEM.
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR ON THE HIGHWAY, I FELT THAT THE SEAT WAS LOOSE ON THE RIGHT SIDE AND WAS MOVING. WHEN I STOPPED THE CAR AND EXITED, I FELT THE SEAT MOVE AWAY FROM THE RIGHT SIDE.

30 MINUTE DRIVE TO WORK, IN RAIN AT APPROXIMATELY 32 DEGREES, VEHICLE WAS RUNNING GOOD UNTIL I PULLED INTO A PARKING SPOT AND AN ERROR MESSAGE APPEARED (REDUCED ENGINE POWER). I LATER LEFT AND THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED ON. I THEN RECEIVED AN ERROR MESSAGE (SERVICE ESC) AND LATER AGAIN RECEIVED THE (REDUCED ENGINE POWER) WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY. IT WAS SNOWING DURING THIS TIME. I WAS UNABLE TO FULLY ACCELERATE BUT IT FELT AS THOUGH THE ACCELERATION WAS NOT RUNNING WELL. I RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE AND DISCOVERED MANY PEOPLE/ CHEVY MALIBU OWNERS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WITH NO RESOLUTION; EVEN AFTER TAKING TO DEALER ON MANY OCCASIONS. GM NEEDS TO RECOGNIZE THIS ISSUE AND DISCOVER A RESOLUTION.
MY 2011 MALIBU WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY THROUGH A SENSOR CODE FOR MULTIPLE PROBLEMS THE FIRST STATING REDUCED ENGJNE POWER, THEN SERVICE ES, SERVICE TRACTION, SERVICE AIRBAGS ETC... PROBABLY 8 CODES. AT WHICH POINT ON THE HIGHWAY I COULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE ABOVE 40MPH CREATING A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR ME. THE CAR WAS JERKING AND SHAKING AND THE RPM WAS REVING UP BETWEEN 500 AND 1500 EVEN AFTER I STOPPED. I TURNED THE CAR OFF FEARING DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE AND CALLED MYHUSBAND. HE ASKED ME TURN IT ON AGAIN SO I DID AND ALTHOUGH IT WAS NOW IDLING NORMALLY THE ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED ON. HE SUGGESTED I CONTINUE MY COMMUTE. I PULLED BACK ON TO THE HIGHWAY AND EXPERIENCED THIS SAME DANGEROUS PROBLEM 7 YIMES BETWEEN JACKSON MI AND LANSING MI. WE TOOK IT IN TO A REPAIRSHOPAND THEY ASSESSEDWHAT THEY COULD STATING THAT IT APPEARED TO BE A THROTTLE BODY ISSUE BUT THEY WOULD HAVE TO TAKE IT APART TO LOOK AT IT. THE MECHANIC ALSO STATEDTHAT MANY OF THE CHEVY MADE VEHICLES HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM AND HE WAS VERY SURPRISED THAT THEREHAD NOT YET BEEN A RECALL ON THE PART.

THE AIR BAG SENSOR LIGHT CAME ON BUT THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY WHEN INVOLVED IN A WRECK CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF ANOTHER PERSON ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY AND WILL NOT GO OFF. CLAIMS ADJUSTER DENIED THE REPAIR STATING THAT IT WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH 2011 MALIBU'S AND COULD NOT DETERMINE WITHOUT CERTAINTY THAT IT WASN'T ON BEFORE THE ACCIDENT. THIS LIGHT IS ANNOYING AND A CONSTANT REMINDER THAT I AM DRIVING A FAULTY VEHICLE OF WHICH I COULD BE SERIOUSLY INJURED IF I AM INVOLVED IN ANOTHER CRASH BECAUSE MY AIR BAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY. *TR
I WAS STOP AT A RED LIGHT AND MY DASH READ SERVICE AIRBAG. I STARTED TO DRIVE OFF AND THE DASH STARTED FLASHING SERVICE AIRBAG. WHEN IN MOTION AND AS I START IGNITION. ALSO MY SEATBELT SOMETIMES LOCK OR NOT LOCK AND IS VERY LOOSE AS I ADJUST SEAT.

THIS IS HOW MY FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT WAS RETURNED TO ME AFTER THE SERVICE WAS DONE BY MALL CHEVROLET IN CHERRY HILL, NJ. THE FRONT PASSENGER BELT IS COMPLETELY UNSAFE AS INSTALLED BY MALL CHEVROLET IN CHERRY HILL, NJ.

DOORS LOCKED AND UNLOCKED BY THEMSELVES DURING THIS TIME. SERVICE ESC, SERVICE TRACTION, AND ESC OFF APPEARED. VEHICLE HAS YET TO START AND NOW HAVE NO POWER WHATSOEVER THROUGHOUT THE VEHICLE. VERY ODD THAT THIS IS NOT A CURRENT RECALL. HELP?'
WHEN STARTING MY VEHICLE, (STATIONARY) IT DOES A REVVING THING LIKE WHEN PUSHING ON THE GAS PEDAL AND THE GAS PEDLA IS NOT BEING PUSHED. AT THE SAME TIME THAT IS HAPPENING THE LIGHTS INSIDE AND OUT GET VERY BRIGHT AND THEN VERY LOW. I NOTICED WHEN THIS IS HAPPENING THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE DOES NOT MOVE AT ALL. EVEN AFTER VEHICLE IS RUNNING FOR A WHILE THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE STILL DOES NOT MOVE AND THE VEHICLE RUNS HARDER AND LOUDER WITH A SLIGHT SHAKING. RECENTLY I DROVE FOR HOURS BEFORE THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE MOVED. ALSO WHEN IT DID THIS RECENTLY THE HEAT AND DEFROST DID NOT WORK WELL. MY VEHICLE HAS 55,100 MILES ON IT. WHEN I ASKED A MECHANIC ABOUT THIS THE MECHANIC INFORMED ME THAT A VEHICLE WITH SUCH LOW MILEAGE SHOULD NOT BEHAVE IN THIS MANNER. I GOT MY VEHICLE IN JULY OF 2015 AND A MONTH OR SO LATER IT STARTED DOING THESE THINGS. IT DOES NOT DO THIS ALL THE TIME BUT AS OF LATELY ITS DOING MORE FREQUENTLY.
IT STARTED WITH MY LOW BEAM GOING OUT. I REPLACED IT. THEN THE LIGHT WENT OUT AGAIN REPLACED IT THEN BOTH LIGHTS WENT OUT REPLACED BOTH LOW BEAM NOW MY RUNNING LIGHTS ARE OUT. I HAVE NO TAIL LIGHTS. THIS HAS PROGRESSIVELY GOTTEN WORSE. I ONLY HAVE HIGH BEAMS AT THIS TIME. APPARENTLY I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE REPLACED FUSES, CONTROL ARMS,,RELAYS ETC ON TOP OF THREE SETS OF BULBS.

2011 MALIBU HAS BEEN LOSING ENGINE POWER SHOWING "SERVICE ESC" ENGINE POWER REDUCED, AND SOMETHING ABOUT TRACTION. THIS HAS HAPPENED OVER 8 TIMES TWICE THIS WEEK ON JAN. 5TH 2016. THE SECOND TIME I CAME SO CLOSE TO A CRASH TO START TO WHAT NOT TO DRIVE THIS CAR. IN ALL SITUATIONS I WAS ON A HIGHWAY DOING OVER 60 MPH AND IN MOST CASES LETTING OFF THE GAS. I HAD A WIRE CONNECTOR TO THE THROTTLE BODY REPLACED THIS SPRING FOR $200 AT A DEALER AND THE PROBLEM CAME BACK THIS FALL. I HAVE HAD CODES ABOUT THE CAM SENSOR (REPLACED) THEN THE CAM ACTUATORS (BOTH REPLACED). NOW I AM TOLD IT COULD BE THE TIMING CHAIN ADJUSTABLE SPROCKETS STICKING FROM JUNK FROM THE CHAIN GUIDES. THERE WAS SOME METAL BITS ON THE CAM ACTUATORATOR WHEN I REPLACED IT. AT $1400 (CHAINS, GUIDES, SPROCKETS) I WILL DO IT TOMORROW MYSELF FOR $400 IN PARTS JUST TO SEE WHAT IS UP MYSELF. I SELL AUTO SHOP SUPPLIES AND WAS A TECH. YEARS AGO SO I CAN DO IT MYSELF WITH A HAYNES MANUAL. THIS IS A COMMON VARY DANGEROUS ELECTRICAL PROBLEM JUST AS BAD AS THE IGNITION KEY SWITCH RECALL. BOUGHT THE CAR IN FEBRUARY 2013. IN JUNE 2014 WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY IT STARTED SAYING SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL . CAR STALLED AND STOPPED. IT DID THIS 3 TIMES ON THE HIGHWAY. CHANGED TIRES . IN JULY 2015 ON THE HIGHWAY IT DID THE SAME THING. GOT THE FULL BODY THROTTLE CHANGED. IN NOVEMBER 2015 HAD TAKEN TO ANOTHER SHOP. LANGS TIRE AND AUTOMOTIVE. THEY CHANGED THE FULL BODY THROTTLE AGAIN. NOW JANUARY 4, 2016. THE CAR IS STALLING TRY PUSH GAS WHEN THIS HAPPENS AND DOESN'T ACCELERATE. THE SERVICE ESC LIGHT IS ON NOW.. I ALSO HAVE 3 KIDS AND A GRANDBABY THAT RIDES IN THIS CAR. I'M JUST SO IRRITATED. THEN TO SEE HOW MANY OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING SAME EXACT PROBLEMS. THEY SHOULD REFUND EVERYONE THEIR MONEY BACK ON THESE CARS. EVIDENTLY THEY WERE NOT MADE RIGHT IN THE FIRST PLACE.

EACH OCCASION, I TOOK INTO DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS SOMETHING DIFFERENT ON EACH OCCASION CAUSING OCCURRENCE. ON OTHER OCCASIONS, DEALERSHIP WOULD SAY THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE ISSUE. I HAD ONE REPAIR MADE. THE CAR DROVE FINE FOR A WHILE TO LATER START AGAIN. I WAS INFORMED IT WAS A SENSOR. ON LAST OCCURRENCE, I HAD THE THROTTLE BODY REPLACED. THE CAR IS ONCE AGAIN EXPERIENCING A SLUGGISH CONDITION WHEN DRIVING. THE DEALERSHIP ONCE AGAIN STATED THEY COULD NOT REPLCIATE ISSUE.

TOOK MY CAR BK TO SHOP WITH LIGHT ON AND THEY SAID I NEEDED AN ENGINE FLUSH. 180.00. PROBLEM STILL CAME BACK.TOOK MY CAR TO ANOTHER SHOP, BC I FELT I WAS GETTING TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF AFTER BEING CHARGED 180.00 JUST FOR DIAGNOSTIC. THIS SHOP CHANGED SPARK PLUGS AND CHECKED WIRES. 100.00. PROBLEM CAME BACK. GOT IN TOUCH W GM. NO RECALL. NO ASSISTANCE UNTIL I TOOK MY CAR BACK TO DEALERSHIP. THEY KEPT MY CAR FOR 4 DAYS AND FINALLY TOLD ME I NEED A NEW MOTOR! IT'S A 2011, WITH 110K MILES AND I NEED A NEW MOTOR?? THAT IT WOULD BE 4000.00 I LEFT WITH MY CAR, BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY JUST LAYING AROUND IN HOPES THAT IT MIGHT FIX THE PROBLEM.
