ON 12/23/15 APPROX 8:40 AM, I WAS DRIVING EASTBOUND ON KELLY DRIVE APPROX 40 MPH. I WAS HEADING INTO A SOFT CURVE, WHEN THE ESC CAME ON AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP. THE CAR SHOOK VIOLENTLY, JERKING AND SWERVING FROM LEFT TO RIGHT, GOING INTO THE LANE WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC, AND THEN JERKING BACK INTO THE LANE I WAS ORIGINALLY IN. THE CAR JERKED AND SWERVED BACK AND FORTH, APPROX 4 TIME. THIS LASTED ROUGHLY ABOUT 10 SECONDS. THE ESC LIGHT WENT OFF AND THE CAR FELT LIKE IT HAD DECREASED ENGINE POWER AFTER THAT. I CAME TO A RED LIGHT AND THE ENGINE SHOOK, SHUDDERED AND THEN SETTLED DOWN. I CONTINUED ON FOR ANOTHER 15 MINUTES TO WORK AND PARKED THE CAR. I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE I COULD'VE HIT ANOTHER CAR, CRASHED INTO THE SIDE OF THE WALL, OR ANOTHER CAR COULD'VE CRASHED INTO ME

THE CONTACT HAD TO MANEUVER TO THE SHOULDER TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE CONTACT WAITED APPROXIMATELY TEN MINUTES AND THE VEHICLE STARTED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000. REAR DEFROST STOPPED WORKING - CABLES AND FUSE MELTED.
FRONT DRIVERS SIDE DOOR ON 2011 MALIBU WOULD NOT OPEN WHEN SHUT. THE DOOR WAS UNLOCKED BUT WOULD NOT OPEN WHEN I PARKED.I TRIED LOCKING AND UNLOCKING THE VEHICLE AND IT STILL WOULD NOT OPEN. I WAS STUCK IN THE VEHICLE AND I BEGAN PRESSING LOCK AND UNLOCK ON THE KEY FOB SEVERAL TIMES UNTIL I HEARD A POPPING NOISE AND THE DOOR WAS FINALLY ABLE TO BE OPENED. ALL OTHER DOORS WERE LOCKING/UNLOCKING AND WERE ABLE TO BE OPENED PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN DOING THIS FOR ABOUT A WEEK NOW AND IT HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY EVERYDAY. I DROPPED IT OFF AT THE DEALERSHIP AND AM AWAITING FURTHER INFORMATION. THIS WOULD BE VERY DANGEROUS DURING AN ACCIDENT/VEHICLE FIRE AS YOU WOULD BE TRAPPED IN THE VEHICLE.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SEAT'S SUBFRAME NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,600.
I RECENTLY NOTICED THAT MY REAR BRAKE LIGHT IN THE BACK WINDOW WAS FLICKERING ON AND OFF. THEN MY REAR DEFROSTER STOPPED WORKING. I DECIDED TO CHECK THE FUSES IN THE REAR FUSE BOX. I THEN REALIZED THE FUSE FOR THE REAR DEFROSTER WAS COMPLETELY MELTED AND OTHER FUSES WERE ALSO BURNT. UPON CALLING GM, THEY TOLD ME TO TAKE IT TO A DEALERSHIP TO FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THE FUSE PANEL IS BURNT OUT, AND THAT I NEED A NEW FUSE PANEL, RELAY,CONNECTER(FIVE LEADS),CONNECTER(TWO LEADS), 10 AMP FUSE, AND A 30 AMP FUSE. A PROBLEM THAT THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME HAPPENS A LOT. UPON CALLING GM BACK WITH THE NEWS. THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE REPAIR.

THE HVAC RESISTOR IS MALFUNCTIONG, ONGOING ISSUE WITH NUMEROUS PRODUCTS, THE RESISTOR MALFUNCTIONS AND CREATES A SMALL FIRE A SHORTS OUT THE RESISTOR MELTS THE HARNESS THAT ATTACHES TO THE RESISTOR. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND AFTER REFUELING HVAC BLOWER NO LONGER WORKED.
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE VEHICLE PULLS TO THE LEFT. I HAD IT ALIGNED AND TOOK IT BACK SEVERAL DAYS LATER BECAUSE IT WAS STILL PULLING LEFT. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT EVERYTHING WAS WITHIN SPEC AND IT SHOULD BE FINE. THEY TRIED ROTATING THE TIRES AGAIN AS WELL AND THAT DID NOT CHANGE ANYTHING.
CARS ANTI THEFT IS NOT READING THE KEY SO CAR WILL NOT START.

SINCE PURCHASE BRAND NEW, MY CARS RPM'S HAVE FLUTTERED BETWEEN 2000 AND 2500, BUT I DID NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS UNTIL RECENTLY. OUT OF NOWHERE, MY CAR STARTED SHUDDERED WHEN IT WAS IDLING IN DRIVE POSITION AND FOOT ON THE BRAKE. IT SCARED ME, SO I DECIDED NOT TO DRIVE IT FOR AWHILE. THEN I HAD TO TAKE IN IT FOR SOME BODY WORK, WHEN I GOT HOME FROM THE ESTIMATE I STOPPED TO GET THE MAIL. CAR WAS IN PARK IDLING, I PUT IT IN DRIVE AND PUSHED ON THE GAS AND IT DID NOT MOVE! THE RPM'S STAY STUCK AT 2500 WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE GAS. I PUT IN BACK IN PARK THEN BACK IN DRIVE AND ACCELERATED AND IT STILL WOULD NOT MOVE. I TURNED THE CAR OFF FOR A FEW MINUTES, RESTARTED IT, AND GOT IT JUST FAR ENOUGH TO GET INTO MY DRIVEWAY. IT DOES NOT MOVE BUT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DID NOT COME ON UNTIL AFTER IT BROKE DOWN!

IN DEC 2014 MY AIR BAG LIGHT WENT ON, DEALERSHIP STATES THE SCAN FOR FAILURE CODE WAS B0014. DIAGNOSIS WAS BROKEN WIRE UNDER DRIVERS SEAT. PART USED TO REPAIR WAS 12355010, TUBE 8.965 ALONG WITH MISC SHOP SUPPLIES. OCTOBER 25TH 2015 "SERVICE AIR BAG" LIGHT COMES ON UPON TURNING ON THE IGNITION. BROUGHT INTO DEALERSHIP AND WAS DIAGNOSED TODAY AS A BAD SENSOR, SO BOTH AIR BAGS ARE NOT FUNCTIONING. DEALERSHIP SAYS WARRANTY THAT S LEFT ON THE CAR DOES NOT COVER SAFETY ISSUES. DEALERSHIP SAYS IT WILL COST ME LESS THAN $500.00 LABOR AND ALL THE REST OF THE SENSOR AND PARTS, SUPPLIES IS OVER $1,000.00, THE TOTAL REPAIR IS OVER $1,500.00! THIS IS A 4 YEAR OLD VEHICLE AND IS TOTALLY OUT OF LINE. I HAVE ALSO CHECKED ON LINE AND THERE HAS BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ON THIS CAR FOR AIR BAG PROBLEMS. WHAT CAN BE DONE ABOUT THIS? IT IS TRULY A HARDSHIP.
THE FLEXIBLE STEEL CABLE THAT CONNECTS THE SAFETY BELT TO THE VEHICLE AT THE OUTSIDE OF THE FRONT OUTBOARD SEATING POSITIONS HAS FATIGUED AND SEPARATED OVER TIME AS A RESULT OF OCCUPANT MOVEMENT INTO THE SEAT. THIS RECALL IS A DISGRACE! WHEN WILL A REMEDY BE FOUND SO THIS CAN BE FIXED?

I WAS STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY, CITY STREET AND NO ERROR CODE OR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WARNING WAS GIVEN AS WELL. I PURCHASED THIS CAR IN FEBRUARY 2015 AND HAVE HAD ONLY ABOUT 8 MONTHS. IT WAS PURCHASED FROM BURNS MOTORS IN MCALLEN TEXAS.

WHILE DRIVING ON I 94 WESTBOUND, A MESSAGE APPEARED SERVICE ESC. NEXT MESSAGE WAS ESC OFF. WITHOUT INDICATOR WARNING, CAR WAS OFF. I EXITED BASED ON THE JERKING MOTION THE CAR WAS MAKING. I THOUGHT IT SOUNDED LIKE THE ENGINE WAS NOT RUNNING. I MADE IT TO 8 MILE/VERNIER EXIT. WHEN I CAME TO A STOP FOR THE RED LIGHT, I REALIZED THE ENGINE HAD QUIT AND THE CAR WAS NOT RUNNING. I WAS TERRIFIED AS I BLOCKED THE RIGHT LANE. CARS TRAVELING BEHIND ME HAD TO BREAK SUDDENLY OR SWERVE TO GO AROUND ME. IT WAS A DANGEROUS AND FRIGHTENING SITUATION. I HAD TO PAY TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED HOME. IT'S SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY AND WILL NOT START. I WAS COMING FROM THERAPY DUE TO SURGERY RECOVERY. I INTENDED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER. I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE IT AGAIN.

I WAS DRIVING DOWN A SIDE RESIDENTIAL STREET, WHEN I WENT TO PARK NOTICED THAT THE CAR WAS STUCK IN REVERSE. I WASN'T ABLE TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK. THE SHIFTER BEGAN SHIFTING INTO DIFFERENT GEARS AND FELT AS THERE WAS NO CATCH. I TURNED THE CAR OFF BECAUSE I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT HAD HAPPENED. THE KEY WAS STUCK IN THE IGNITION, BECAUSE COULDN'T PUT THE CAR IN PARK. I EXITED THE CAR AND THE CAR STARTED TO ROLL BACKWARDS AND HIT THE CAR BEHIND ME. I APPLIED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND THE CAR STILL ROLLED IN REVERSE. SO I UNHOOKED THE BATTERY CABLES AND APPLIED BRICKS BEHIND THE TIRES. I HAD A MECHANIC COME TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED AND HE STATED THAT THIS HAD BEEN A RECALL ON PRIOR YEARS OF THIS MODEL, BUT NOT THE YEAR OF MY CAR. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR AND I WENT TO THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP IN WHICH THEY NOTHING ABOUT THIS PART, BUT STATE MANY PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINED AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. IT IS UNSAFE WITH THIS DEFECT. THE CABLE COMES OFF THE HOOK AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO APPLY A SHIFT TO ANY GEAR AND THE CAR WILL ACCELERATE REGARDLESS. I DON'T WANT TO PUT MY INFANT IN THIS CAR KNOWING THAT IS A DEFECTIVE PART THAT CHEVY SHOULD FIX. NOT TO MENTION THE CAR SEATBELTS ARE A MALFUNCTION. CHEVY THIS REALLY NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT FOR THIS YEAR MAKE AND MODEL.
HAD TRANSMISSION FLUID CHANGE AT DEALERSHIP. TRANSMISSION STARTED TO SLIP.... THE TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS BURT AFTER 13000 MILES.. CAR JUST WENT OUT OF WARRANTY IS THERE ANYTHING YOU ALL CAN DO FOR ME
IN JUNE 2015, VEHICLE STALLED WHILE TRAVELLING AT 35 MPH. COULD NOT RESTART WITH JUMP.CAR WOULD TURN OVER BUT SHUT RIGHT DOWN ON STEPPING ON ACCELERATOR. REPAIR SHOPS HAVE FAILED TO PINPOINT PROBLEMS. GM REPORTS THEY HAVE BEEN LOOKING INTO THE PROBLEM. INTERNET RESEARCH SHOWS PROBLEM IS COMMON. HAVE SMALL CHILD AND IF CAR STALLS ON MAJOR HIGHWAY IT WOULD BE A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE WHICH COULD CAUSE DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY. IF GM IS AWARE OF PROBLEM ARE THEY WAITING FOR A FATALITY BEFORE DOING SOMETHING. REPAIR SHOPS HAVE NO SOLUTIONS, GM HAS NO SOLUTIONS. WHAT IS THE CONSUMER TO DO. I DO THINK THIS SITUATION WHICH APPEARS TO NOT BE ISOLATED BE INVESTIGATED.
CRUISE CONTROL WOULD NOT DISENGAGE UNTIL I HIT THE BRAKES HARD ENOUGH TO ACTIVATE THE ESC. RECALL #14V252000 COVERED THIS PROBLEM BUT GM SAYS MY VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THIS IS A DEFINITE SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED TO COVER ALL MALIBU MANUFACTURED DURING THE RECALL TIME FRAME.

BEING A SECOND OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE I NOTICED THAT AT TIMES THE POWER STEERING WOULD BECOME INEFFECTIVE AND STEERING WHEEL WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO MOVE, ALONG WITH A LOT OF CLUNKING IN THE STEERING COLUMN...ESPECIALLY AT LOWER SPEEDS. AFTER OWNING THIS VEHICLE FOR TWO MONTHS, I WAS BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND THE WHEEL WAS EXTREMELY HEAVY AS THE POWER ASSIST WAS NOT WORKING AND THE ENTIRE STEERING POPPED AND I HAD NO MORE STEERING CONTROL ( THE STEERING WHEEL WAS FREE WHEELING). LUCKILY, THIS SITUATION DID NOT HAPPEN ON MY COMMUTE TO WORK AT SPEEDS OF 65 MPH! AS IT HAPPENS THE FREE WHEELING OF THE STEERING WHEEL HAS DAMAGED THE CLOCK-SPRING INSIDE THE STEERING HUB THAT PROVIDES POWER TO THE AIRBAG AND CRUISE AND RADIO CONTROLS, MOUNTED ON THE STEERING WHEEL.I AM CONVINCED THAT THIS PROBLEM WAS A DESIGN FLAW IN THE STEERING SYSTEM OF THIS CAR, BUT AM TOLD THAT THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS CAR FOR THIS PARTICULAR PROBLEM. MY MECHANIC HAS ESTIMATED A REPAIR BILL CLOSE TO $1000 AND THIS SHOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF BY GM, IN MY OPINION...AS IT IS A LIFE THREATENING ISSUE (NO STEERING CONTROL AT HIGH SPEEDS)!

DEALERSHIP DETERMINED "INTERNAL FAULT IN ENGINE CONTROL MODULE P0606. ECM REPLACED. SEPTEMBER 6 SAME SITUATION OCCURS ON HIGHWAY; COMPLETE POWER FAILURE. VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP AGAIN AND CURRENTLY BEING TESTED. COMPLETE FAILURE OF SYSTEM IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND UNCONSCIONABLE FOR A 2011 VEHICLE!

DROVE CAR TO DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE, PROBLEM DID NOT OCCUR.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
WHILE DRIVING BACK FROM VACATION, I BEGAN TO NOTICE A VIBRATION AND NOISE FROM THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT TIRE AREA. THIS WOULD WORSEN AND INCREASE IN INTENSITY AS SPEED INCREASED. ALTHOUGH IT DID NOT APPEAR TO ADVERSELY AFFECT DRIVING, IT WOULD NOT GO AWAY AND NEVER IMPROVED. AFTER TAKING IT TO A LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALER, THEY DIAGNOSED IT AS A BAD/FAILING WHEEL BEARING. SUBSEQUENT INVESTIGATIONS ONLINE REVEAL THIS TO BE A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS PARTICULAR MAKE AND MODEL, NOT LIMITED TO THIS MODEL YEAR. THE DANGER IN THIS IS THAT THE BEARING WAS NEARING A POINT OF FAILURE THAT COULD HAVE RESULTED IN WHEEL SEPARATION OR BEARING LOCKUP; EITHER OF WHICH COULD HAVE SENT ME INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE REPAIR WAS NOT COVERED UNDER ANY WARRANTY, WHICH LEFT ME TO PAY $420 FOR THE REPAIR. I WOULD APPRECIATE IT AND URGE THE CONSIDERATION OF A RECALL ON THIS. I HAVE RETAINED ALL PAPERWORK PERTAINING TO THE REPAIR AND CAN PRODUCE THIS IF NEEDED FOR EVIDENCE OR SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION.
THE FRONT LEFT WHEEL BEARING BEGAN FAILED WITH LOW MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS, WHICH COST JUST OVER $400. IF THE BEARING WOULD HAVE FULLY FAILED PRIOR TO MY SEEKING REPAIRS, THE FAILURE WOULD HAVE RESULTED IN A SEPARATED TIRE AND BEARING FROM THE REST OF THE VEHICLE OR A LOCKED UP WHEEL, WHICH COULD HAVE STEERED ME INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN SIGNIFICANT INJURY, DAMAGE OR LOSS OF LIFE. THE DEALERSHIP AND PARENT COMPANY OFFERED NO COMPENSATION OR INVESTIGATION, BUT ACKNOWLEDGED THEY'VE REPAIRED MANY MALIBUS WITH WITH SAME ISSUE. I ASKED TO SEE THE FAILED PART, AND SAW EVIDENCE OF EXTREME HEAT BUILD-UP AND SIGNIFICANT RESISTANCE TO TURNING OF THE BEARING.
MY SON NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE SEAT IN THE CAR AND THE AC STOPPED WORKING. I CALLED GM AND GOT A CASE NUMBER 71-1497728137 AND WAS TOLD SINCE IT WAS A SAFETY ISSUE THEY WOULD MAKE AN APPOINTMENT AND TRY TO OFFSET SOME OF THE COST. I TOLD THEM THE EXACT MILES AT THE TIME, SOMEONE FROM GM CALLED ME AND WAS WORKING ON THE CASE, TOLD ME HE WOULD CORDINATE WITH THE DEALERSHIP. WELL I GOT ALL DONE, NO HELP. THE BLOWER MOTOR RELAY HAD MELTED ALONG WITH SOME OF THE WIRES UNDER THE DASH AND WERE REPACED BY ROYAL CHEVROLET. THE COST WAS 473.98 FOR THE REPAIR AND OF COURSE AFTER THE REPAIR WAS COMPLETED GM TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING AND ROYAL CHEVROLET CALLED AND SAID THERE WERE TO MANY MILES FOR THEM TO DO ANYTHING WITH THE COST. I TOLD GM THAT WAS DISCLOSED UP FRONT WHEN I FIRST EXPLAINED THE ISSUE AND GOT ASSIGNED A CASE NUMBER. IT IS VERY DECEPTIVE ON THERE END, THIS SHOULD HAVE JUST BEEN SAID ON THE INITIAL CALL.

I FEEL THERE IS A SERIOUS ISSUE WITH THE 2011 CHEVY MALIBU FUEL SYSTEM WHICH MAY BE CAUSING THE ENGINE TO STALL, FAIL WHILE IN MOTION, OR JUST WONT START AT ALL.....THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE FOR MY VEHICLE SINCE SEPT 2014.MY VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND HAS BEEN TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALER MANY TIMES FOR WHAT SEEM TO BE THE SAME ISSUE. WHEN VEHICLE ARRIVE AT DEALER, IT SEEMS TO WORK JUST FINE WHICH MAKE MAKES IT HARDER TO DETECT THE ISSUE. MY VEHICLE WILL BE AT THE DEALER WEEKS AT A TIME TO GET I DONT KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS OR BRING BACK WHEN PROBLEM WORSENS.IN TRYING TO GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THE ISSUE MY CAR HAS HAD THE RELAY SWITCH REPLACED TWICE, THE JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY REPLACED, SEVERAL RECALLS REPAIRED IN BETWEEN, AND NOW THE FUEL PUMP WHICH WAS REPLACED IN MAY 2015. AS OF TODAY, JUNE 23RD 2015, MY CAR IS STILL DOING THE SAME EXACT THING AS BEFORE. STARTING ON MINUTE, DOESN'T START THE NEXT OR JUST STOP WHILE IN MOTION. THERE'S A SERIOUS ISSUE SOMEWHERE AND IVE SPENT WAY TOO MUCH MONEY TO BE GETTING THE RESPONSE "I JUST DONT KNOW" WHICH ISN'T THE ANSWER.
CAR STARTS AND THEN DIES.WILL THEN CRANK BUT NOT FIRE.AFTER SEVERAL TRIES IT STARTS BUT JUST SPUTTERS TIL YOU STEP ON GAS.IT HAS DONE THIS ON 4 OCCASIONS.THE DEALER HAS CHANGED THE FUEL PUMP,PURGE VALVE AND CAM SHAFT CONTROL SOLENOID.IT STILL HAS THE SAME PROBLEM.
